(I was running out of ideas for this story so this is a bit far fetched, sorry if it becomes a bit dull but I hope you're all still enjoying it x)

6th August 1920

Jack, Rose and the girls had settled in to a routine. Jack had returned to work and Tilly was due to start school at the start of September. She hadn't mentioned Jack being her Dad since that night a few months ago, and was still calling him Jack. Sophia was almost 4 months old and a fairly easy baby in comparison to how she was as a newborn. Whilst Rose was still waiting on the divorce papers back from Cal, she no longer worried about him coming for her and the girls, knowing her threat of exposing him had been enough to keep him away.

Jack walked in from work at 4.30 where he found Tilly playing in the living room "Jack!" She grinned and ran to him. "Hello!" He smiled and lifted her up, kissing her head "have you had a good day?" He asked, getting a nod in response. "It was good!" She smiled as he put her down. "Good… where's Mummy?" He asked "I think she's in the kitchen" Tilly said. Jack nodded and smiled gently before walking in to the kitchen.

"Hey" Jack smiled as he walked in to the kitchen and put his portfolio on the side "hi" Rose smiled and kissed him. "How was your day?" She asked "long… felt like it went on forever" he chuckled "yours?" he asked as he walked over to Sophia who was in her rocker "it was OK, we didn't do much" she smiled as she watched Jack lift Sophia out of her rocker. "Hello" he kissed Sophia's head and watched as Sophia smiled at him.

Just as Jack went to speak, he was interrupted by a knock at the door. "Back in a minute" he said, taking Sophia with him, seeing Rose was still busy making dinner.

Jack froze as he opened the door, seeing a blonde woman he knew all too well stood in front of him. "Jessica?" He said in shock. "Oh… hello Jack" she said, confused by the fact he had hold of a baby. "What do you want?" He asked, clearly angry. He glanced down at the young boy besides her. The last time he'd seen the boy he'd been only 3.

"I need you to take James… me and John want to move to Atlanta but we can't take him with us. You're the only other person we know. He knows you, he'll be fine" she said rushed "what?!" Jack stood there confused "you're not leaving me with your son, Jessica! He's your responsibility!" "Like I said, he'll be fine, no trouble at all" she brushed off his concerns "I'm not bothered about that! I have my own family to look after now! I'm sorry, but I'm not taking him!" Jack said, his voice becoming louder. The noise altered Rose and she walked in to the hallway.

"Jack?" She asked confused. "What's going on?" "This is the ex I told you about, and this is her son, James" he smiled a little at James - knowing none of this was his fault. "Jessica wants us to take him so she can go skipping off to Atlanta with her husband… you know, the dead one" Jack said. For the first time ever, Rose had no idea what Jack was feeling. "You're over reacting for goodness sake" Jessica rolled her eyes. Rose was taken back by Jessica's rudeness "give us a moment please" Rose gave Jessica a forced smile and closed the door to talk to Jack.

"What the-" Rose said "I know" he sighed. "What are we going to do?" He asked "what do you mean 'what are we going to do?'" Rose looked at him in shock "Jack, we can't take the boy in. He has 2 parents for god sake, she's trying to palm him off on you because being a parent to him is an inconvenience for her now!" Rose said, shocked he was even considering the idea. Jack sighed, defeated and knowing Rose was right. "Fine…" he opened the front door to continue the conversation with Jessica, all to find James stood there alone. "Where's your Mum gone?" Jack frowned at him, confused. James just shrugged "she just told me to say thank you, and she said bye" he looked up at Jack, who looked at Rose. "You've got to be kidding me" Rose shook her head "I'll leave you to finish dinner" she said passive aggressively and took Sophia from him before walking away upstairs.
