Here we are at Chapter 2. Time for a reunion between two teams and two worlds. I do not own RWBY or Justice League. They belong to their respective owners. I only own my OCs. Here's chapter 2. Enjoy.
Chapter 2: Welcome to Earth
At the Hall of Justice, Flash is typing away on a monitor trying to find Remnant. The dark circles under his eyes show that he's not at his best right now.
"Do you see anything?" the voice of Kilgore echoes in his head.
"Huh?" Flash turns his head around, only to see Green Lantern and Black Canary behind him, the latter next to a board with cross marks on it.
"Flash, you see something?" Lantern asks.
"...No, nothing. Canary, go ahead and cross this section off," Flash goes back to typing.
Canary sighs before crossing it off, "This is stupid. I should be out there fighting those things, not stuck here knocking on every universe's front door," she complains.
"I know, but we need to find Team RWBY and Team KEPL," Flash retorts.
Canary walks up behind him, "Why? If they haven't dealt with the Grimm on their world, how would they be able to help us here. We're wasting time-,"
Flash stands up, "I know you'd rather be anywhere but here, but the reality is the Justice League can't stop this by ourselves. We need their help. Whether or not they took care of the Grimm on their world; it's still a fact that they have more knowledge and experience dealing with them than us,"
"Yeah, but-," Canary starts.
"You don't get it, Canary! The last time we fought Kilgore... our friends almost died because of me," Flash says.
"Easy, Flash. Superman didn't have you stay here to search for Remnant as some kind of punishment," Lantern tries to calm them down.
Flash looks away before sitting back down, "Let's check the next section,"
Just then, Cyborg enters the room, "Where's Superman?!"
"He and Diana are in Metropolis, handling the Grimm there," Canary says.
"Cyborg, what's wrong?" Lantern asks, concerned.
Cyborg sighs, "It's Bats..." and proceeds to explain what happened in Gotham.
"...And you just let Kilgore walk away like that? He knows how to cure Batman," Flash asks, upset, after hearing the story
"I know that, but we had to get Batman back to the infirmary before it was too late. We had no time to go after Kilgore," Cyborg says.
"Kilgore may not be the most dangerous villain we've faced, but if there's one thing he's good at, it's surviving. We need to jump on any lead we can find before it becomes useless," Flash is losing his cool.
"That's not our top priority right now," Cyborg argues.
"It should be," Flash retorts before sighing. "Canary's right. We can't waste anymore time, knocking on doors and hoping someone will answer,"
His words cause a light to come on in Lantern's head, "Wait, that's it! Doors! What if we're going about this the wrong way? What if instead of knocking on doors, we try calling them long distance?" she suggests.
Cyborg and Flash stare between each other and nod, liking the idea.
"Alright, then the new plan. Lantern and I will work on trying to call Remnant. Flash, figure out the chemical makeup for the poison so we can figure out a cure for Batman. Canary," Cyborg looks to the blonde.
"Kick ass?" Canary looks eager.
Cyborg smirks, "Only if you and Vixen can get Superman and Wonder Woman along the way,"
Black Canary gives him a thumbs up before racing out of the room.
…
Back on Remnant, Weiss is sitting on a couch in the corner of a room by a window, looking melancholy. The thoughts of her former home still plaguing her mind.
"Weiss," she looks up as Edom walks over and sits down next to her, "Are you okay?"
Weiss sighs, "I'm fine, Edom. Just a lot on my mind,"
"You mean about Atlas?" Edom asks, getting her attention. "I know you well enough by now to get a good idea of what you're thinking about," Weiss glances away. "Okay... how has your family been doing?"
Weiss sighs again, "About as well as can be expected. I talked with Klein earlier, and he said a lot of people don't want my family's help,"
"Well, you can thank your father for that," Edom notes.
"I don't want to talk about him," Weiss retorts bitterly.
"Weiss..." Edom mutters.
"He may have watched Atlas fall from inside a prison cell before he died, but he abandoned everyone long before that. Because of him helping Watts because of his stupidity and greed... Atlas, our home... fell to pieces. And he didn't care," Weiss says.
"Are you talking about Atlas, or your family? You?" Edom asks.
"He never cared about anyone but himself," Weiss retorts.
"On that, we agree. But, you're forgetting one important fact, Weiss," Edom says, gaining her attention. "That was your father's doing, not yours. You're not him, thank the brothers for that. And you are not Atlas. You're still here. You're still alive. And you are so much more than your father or that kingdom. Look to the people who love you, and you'll see that," Edom tries to help.
"Edom... don't you miss it? Atlas was your home too. But, I've never seen you sad over losing it. Did losing your home not matter to you like it did to me?" Weiss asks, a little upset.
"Weiss, I-," Edom tries to say.
Weiss scoffs, "Forget it. Maybe I just need to-," she pulls out her scroll, only to see a series of digits on it. "What in the world?"
"Weiss, what's wrong?" Edom asks and leans over to see.
"11, 9, 12, 7..." she starts reading off the numbers and recollects their time with Bruce Wayne.
Edom remembers them too, "Wait, I know those numbers. But... it can't be,"
"Edom, do you think this means..." Weiss trails off.
"We need to let the others know. Come on," Edom says and they take their leave.
…
On Earth, Batman is in the medical bay on a bed as machines monitor his vitals. Off to the side, Flash is looking up at images of his brain as he tries to find signs of Kilgore in case he's still in his head. As he stares at the monitor, he hears Kilgore's maniacal laugh in his head.
Flash sighs, "You're not really there, are you?"
The door opens up and in walks Superman and Wonder Woman.
"Batman! Bruce!" Superman flies to his side as Bruce remains asleep.
"How can we help him?" Diana asks.
"We're trying to figure out exactly what kind of poison the Grimm used on him," Flash replies.
"Poison?" a female voice rings out and they look to see Lantern and Cyborg walk in, the latter holding a hand-held monitor in his left hand.
Diana recognizes that voice, "Wait... is that Weiss?"
Cyborg hits a few buttons and brings the feed up on the main monitor, showing both Team RWBY and Team KEPL on the other side.
"Justice League. It's really you guys," Khazhak says, stunned.
"Incredible," Bahamut notes.
"It wasn't some weird simulation after all. You're all real," Blake says, just as pleasantly surprised.
The Justice League walk up to the screen, happy to see some old friends as well.
"It's good to see you all again, Team RWBY, Team KEPL," Superman greets them.
"Wait, Clark?" Ruby is a little surprised by what he really looks like.
"Man, that's weird," Lloyd pushed her head aside. "You guys are actually adults. And here I thought you guys were going crazy,"
"Are Jaune, Voshkie'ahk, and his team with you guys?" Lantern asks, hoping to see them again.
"Sorry, but they're all out on patrol. So, it's just us now," Khazhak says.
"Listen, I know it's only been three days since we last saw each other, but it appears-," Cyborg begins.
"Three days?" Ruby stops him.
"It's been weeks since we last saw you guys," Porphyrius corrects him.
The Justice League are shocked by this revelation, since it's not been that long for them.
"How... does that happen?" Superman asks.
"Must be time dilation. More time went by in their world than ours. A day here is at least a week there," Flash figures it out.
"Yeah, we've had a little bit of that happen here too. A story for another time. So, what happened to Bruce?" Edom asks.
"Our world has been infested with Grimm," Cyborg says.
"What? But, how's that possible, unless..." Weiss trails off.
"Kilgore. If you guys are real, that means he is too. And he was there in that simulation," Khazhak realizes.
"Correct. Somehow, he and his accomplice have brought Grimm into our world. One of them attacked Batman and poisoned him. After he went down, it just... left," Cyborg explains.
"Just left? After attacking just him specifically? Grimm don't normally behave like that," Blake notes.
"Blake's right. Grimm continuously attack every human they see until they die, or the humans die. They don't just attack one human and then retreat. Even older Grimm don't do that," Porphyrius notes.
"Wait, is Kilgore changing the Grimm to do that?" Ruby asks.
"Kilgore said his partner is 'changing them' to fight us," Cyborg replies.
"I wish we had gotten back together under better circumstances, but right now, our friend and our whole world are in danger," Superman says.
"Kilgore and his partner. What they're doing will destroy everything and everyone on our world," Wonder Woman adds.
They hear groaning and look to see Batman painfully sit up. Flash races to his side to help him sit up.
"With your aid, we can figure out who Kilgore's partner is, what their true objective is, and then stop them," Batman says.
Both teams nod their heads, "Alright, what do need us to do?" Khazhak asks.
…
In an underground laboratory, Teams RWBY and KEPL walk towards a set of doors, locked up with a lock and chain.
"I thought you said your family's old labs were left abandoned to collect dust?" Yang asks.
"They are, but they still have the computers with the exact type of processing power that Cyborg needs for his plan to work," Weiss replies.
"Better question: any idea who Kilgore is working with?" Lloyd asks as they reach the door.
"No idea. So, we'll need to gather intelligence. We go to Earth, find out the identity of Kilgore's partner, take out the Grimm, save Batman from a poisonous death, and then come back to face our own apocalypse," Khazhak lists off while Blake checks the lock. "Lloyd,"
Lloyd smirks before cocking his right steel fist. With a single punch, he busts open the doors and allowing them inside.
"Sounds like a plan to me," Lloyd jokes.
They walk inside, finding the room deserted except for one computer still online. Weiss takes a seat in front of it and connects to the computer with her scroll for Cyborg.
"And that took, what, two minutes?" Blake jokes.
"More like two seconds," Wonder Woman says on their end.
"Ugh, this stuff is way to technical for me," Yang groans, earning a dry stare from Weiss.
"Okay Weiss, I need you to-," Cyborg begins before an alarm suddenly goes off.
"That can't be good," Bahamut notes.
The doors behind them close and lock in place.
Khazhak glares back at Weiss, "Weiss, was that you?"
"Uh, maybe?" Weiss tries to play it off.
"God damn it!" Khazhak curses.
"I said maybe!" Weiss retorts.
To make matter worse, doors open all over the walls, revealing Atlas robot soldiers within that come online.
"Uh, Weiss, maybe you could, oh I don't know, TURN THEM OFF!" Porphyrius yells as they draw their weapons.
The robots aim their rifles at them and fire. Everyone takes cover as the bullets fly.
"Um, was this part of the plan?" Yang asks.
"Okay, new plan. Edom, Lloyd, give Weiss some cover. Everyone else, scrap these walking trash cans!" Khazhak engages his dragon arm.
"Just keep them off me and I'll get us out of here," Weiss says.
Ruby flies in with her semblance, slicing through two robots with her scythe. Khazhak slides under the bullets, spinning his sword to take out two more before firing a spark shot at a third. Yang and Porphyrius jump up and fire off their weapons to take out a few more. Some robots fire at Weiss' back, but Lloyd stands in between them and uses his steel body as a shield to protect her while Edom twirls his twin-scythe around to block the bullets. However, even as they take down the robots, more pop up and enter the fray.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me," Edom groans.
Blake fires her pistol at two robots before throwing her chain-scythe around, slicing off the heads of three more. Porphyrius runs up and uses his semblance to float four robots before smashing them together, leaving them in pieces. Ruby flies by Khazhak as he slices another robot down, twirling her scythe to bisect another.
Meanwhile, Weiss types away on the computer, "Okay, what's the plan here?"
"And make it snappy, will ya! We don't have all day here!" Lloyd yells as he continues to block the bullets.
"Cyborg has plugged into the computer on our end and is looking for your position. I need you to keep an eye on the screen and let me know when you see a green light," Lantern replies as the others continue to fight the robots.
A few moments later, Weiss sees said light, "I see it!"
Khazhak crushes the head of one robot, only to look up when he hears some noise and sees the ceiling starting to crack.
"Oh, great. Just great," Khazhak groans. "Weiss, hurry up!"
"Um, Jessica, can you speed things up on your end? If you don't hurry, we're all about to become human-sized pancakes!" Weiss says.
Porphyrius and Yang jump back, firing off their weapons, only to almost lose their footing as the room shakes and the cracks in the ceiling spread. A moment later, a door-shaped green portal opens up behind them all.
"Time to go!" Khazhak exclaims.
"Let's move, now!" Ruby adds.
Everyone makes a break for the portal as the robots keep shooting. They all make it inside, with Khazhak firing off a spark shot as a goodbye present for them. They all end up in the white space from the simulation. They walk ahead as their clothing suddenly changes and they are engulfed in light. Khazhak is the last out as bullets fly around. He looks back at the portal before Superman puts his body between them to block the bullets.
"Lantern, close it now!" Superman says, and Lantern does just that.
With the danger gone, everyone can finally relax.
Ruby looks up and smiles, "Clark!" Ruby races over to give him a hug.
Superman chuckles, "Here, it's Superman," he says, floating in the air.
"Well, when you look like that, the name actually sounds pretty spot on," Porphyrius notes.
Batman groans softly, "You wouldn't happen to have an antidote with you, would you?"
"I'm sorry, Bruce. We need to know the poison first before we can think about an antidote," Weiss says.
"We need to figure out who's altering the Grimm and how they're doing it," Ruby says.
"Ruby's right. The sooner we find out the identity of Kilgore's partner, the sooner we can solve all of our problems," Khazhak adds.
"Anyone in your world with the power to do that?" Batman asks.
"Salem. Dr. Merlot. Uh, maybe-," Blake lists off.
"Uh, Blake?! Where are your... ears?" Yang leans in and looks up.
Blake looks up and finds that her cat ears, her signature as a Faunus, are gone.
Blake freaks out a little, "Ah!"
Everyone gets a second look at their outfits. For Weiss, she has on a short white skirt over a pair of gray leggings, with knee-high light blue and white high-heeled boots, shoulder-length light blue gloves with white ringlets at the ends, a light blue halter top that expose a little of her cleavage, a pair of earrings, and her hair is down with a tiara in it. For Blake, she has on black pants with a pair of matching calf-high high-heeled boots. A pair of white pouches are strapped to her hips with a white belt with a gold buckle. She also has on a sleeveless black top with white belts around it, a yellow zipper, and a black hood with purple undertones. Finally, she has shoulder-length black gloves and a black mask around her eyes. For Yang, her hair is back in a ponytail. She has on armored bronze boots, black stockings with brown belts wrapped around her thighs, a black segmented short skirt with a tanned layer on top, a brown belt, bronze chest armor, an armored gauntlet on her left arm, and a short, orange cape on her back. Finally, her prosthetic arm has been altered, matching her gauntlet while the rest of her right arm is covered in black cloth that covers the right side of her chest. Finally, Ruby is wearing a full body suit with red shoes that slowly turn black up her legs. The suit's lower torso is red while the upper torso is black with her rose emblem in the center. The sleeves are light gray with black fingerless gloves. Her cloak as changed into a red scarf around her neck with two long tails falling down her back. Finally, her hair is pulled back into a short ponytail.
"We're different here," Blake notes.
"You're not kidding," Khazhak notes.
For Khazhak, he has on a black bodysuit under several pieces of blue armor. The armor is comprised of blue armored boots, armor on his thighs, armored gauntlets with sharp claws, a belt around his waist with his emblem as the belt buckle. Armor rises up the center of his torso to a chest piece. Also, he has on a long, blue cloak that looks to be made of dragon scale-like armor (think Owlman's outfit, but with a dragon motif instead and without the mask).
For Edom, he has on what looks like a cross between a red skull mask and a small helmet on his head, with a white hood over it. The hood is attached to a white jacket with his emblem emblazoned on the back. Under the jacket is a short-sleeved white shirt with red lines going down his torso. He has on a belt with a skull belt buckle, red leather pants, and white combat boots. His hands have a pair of black fingerless gloves (think a cross between Red Hood and Taskmaster's outfits). He takes off his mask and looks in the reflection to see his scared face the same as ever, but also very short red hair on his head.
For Porphyrius, he has on a black and purple, long-sleeved jacket with a hood and a two-tailed back going around the back of his legs. Under the jacket is a pair of black leather pants, a belt to match, fingerless gloves, black leather boots with purple soles, purple knee pads, and a purple sleeveless shirt underneath. His hair is basically the same, but instead of an eyepatch, the right side of his face is covered by a black mask, including his eye where is emblem is still scene (think Scarecrow's outfit from Batman Arkham Knight).
For Lloyd, he is wearing a full-body black suit with grey, segmented armor on the shoulders, chest, stomach, around the waist, forearms, and lower legs. His emblem is seen on his chest armor. He is also wearing a mask with a light layer of armor all around it (think the Armored Spiderman outfit from the old cartoon and comic books).
"I admit, this is quite perplexing," they hear and look back to see a large, blue scaled dragon with red eyes behind them.
"What the hell is that?!" Weiss is a little freaked out.
"Wait... Bahamut?" Khazhak takes a closer look at him.
"It seems my body changes wherever we go. Well, better than being the size of a cat, that's for sure," Bahamut looks over his new form (think Mirgardsormr's mount form in Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward).
"Ah, but I thought you looked cute in your smaller form," Lantern teases as she goes to pet him, only for Bahamut to nearly bite her fingers off.
Bahamut growls at her while she looks a little nervous.
Lantern looks at Khazhak, who just smirks, "It's an animal thing,"
Ruby hops up and pops down, "My aura? I can't feel it at all!" she realizes.
"You're not in Kansas anymore, Ruby Rose. Welcome to our world: Earth," Superman says.
And that's the chapter. Teams RWBY and KEPL meet the Justice League again and make it to Earth, only to find themselves changed to fit the laws of the Justice League's world. I remember someone asking me to do a spiderman stealth suit concept for Lloyd, and while the suit wasn't half bad, I wasn't quite sure it would suit Lloyd. However, their idea reminded me of Armored Spiderman and so I decided to use that instead. I Hope that works for you. As for the others, I already had them planned out shortly after I found out about part 2. Anyway, how will they adapt to their new appearances and powers (or lack thereof) while trying to stop Kilgore and his partner? Until then, please Read and Review.
