Chapter 74 Surprise Engagement

Ever since he arrived Rai spent time with Merida since he was happy to come back and see her again.
"Well it's nice being with you again." Rai said.
"Look at that, the big knight missed his princess." Merida teases him.
"I thought you didn't like being a princess." He reminded her.
"But for fun." She grabs him as she goes on to his back.
"Hey." He said as the two chuckle.
Rai goes foward as she holds on to him and Eleanor saw it from a corner.
She smiles at the scene. "They're happy together."
Eleanor goes off as she goes to prepare something important for later on.
Outside
Kouga was looking around on a cliff and Zaruba said: "It seems Rai is almost ready for the next stage."
"Yes, in needs to get stronger for future events." Kouga said.
He goes around and knows theres something hidding in the shadows.
"Whatever it is, i'll have to train Rai some more." Kouga said.
He goes foward as he senses a attack as a snake monster comes out to attack him, Kouga reacted and jumps over it as he spins his blade becoming Garo.
The snake looks back and roars at him.
"Well let's take care of this." Garo said.
It attacks him as Garo blocks it with his sword before throwing the creature away, the snake roars again.
Garo charges at it as the snake was trying to eat him but he moves around slashing at it making the creature grunt as a dark energy comes out of it.
"Hmmm." Garo noticed it and he charges foward at it.
The snake tries to heat him, but he jumps over it and slashes it's head off.
This caused the snake to scream before it turned into dust in the wind, Garo looks back to see what just happened.
"It seems that snake is not part of this world." Zaruba said.
"Yes, whoever sent them is getting ready for a battle against Rai." Garo was worried about him.
"We'll have to warn him." Zaruba said.
Garo runs towards where the kingdom is as he waits when Rai comes out to see him.
Back at the castle
At the dinning table Fergus was with the boys as Rai and Merida came.
"Oh there you two are." Fergus said.
"Well we were busy." Rai said.
Harris makes kissing noises to his brothers making them laugh, then Merida slaps them lightly in the back of the head.
"We were shooting targets." Merida said.
Eleanor came as the other two joined the table to have dinner.
"Well it's good that we all came here together." Eleanor said.
"Yeah, it's nice." Rai shrugs.
"So, care to tell us the good news." Eleanor said to the couple.
They stopped eating as the two looked at each other.
"What?" They said.
"No need to be shy." She said.
"What's the big news love?" Fergus said.
"Well I wanted to wait for them to tell us, but Rai asked for Merida's hand." Eleanor said.
Merida spits out her water as she coughs with Rai's jaw dropped.
"What?!" Fergus stands up.
The brothers got surprised to hear that from they're mother.
"Whoa! We didn't do that!" Rai said.
"I heard about the feather you gave Merida." Eleanor said.
"Someone was spying on us." Merida holds her hair.
"What feather?" Fergus said.
"It seems, at his home it's a rare feather to bond two people together by fate." Eleanor said.
"That's basically asking Merida to marry you boy." Fergus looks at him.
Rai got nervous seeing his look. "Well yes I love her, but the feather-"
"I'm so happy that Merida managed to get engaged." Eleanor said.
"Mom!" Merida said.
"Well might as well tell the clans." Fergus sighs.
"Yes, it could give the boys the news to not make them get badly hurt since some did like her before." Eleanor said.
Merida hits her face against the table hearing that, Rai got worried about her and he patted her back.
The boys pointed at Rai while looking at they're mother.
"Yes, Rai will become your older brother. At least he's a nice boy." She said.
"Uh, excuse us." Rai takes Merida away.
"No funny business!" Fergus yells at Rai scaring him.
They were at room and Merida was going crazy.
"Marriage again?! Why! Because of that stupid feather?! Why didn't they listen to the rest!"
"Calm down Merida." Rai said.
"How can I be calm?" She said.
"Deep breath." He holds her as she does that. "Look, it might have to do with the time we won the games, or it's just the feather, but we can fix it."
"Okay, but how are we going to convince them?" She said. "Also, did you get married?" Merida narrows her eyes.
He looks to the side. "Uh, maybe."
"I knew it." She pointed at him.
"Look, it's just something that I wanted to make someone happy, it's hard to explain with how my world is. But we can fix this." Rai said.
"Okay, but I want to see that world you are from?" Merida said.
"Fair enough." He shrugs. "Some of the girls you'll like, Rainbow Dash for one.2
"Unique names they have." She commented.
"I know. Also Merida this won't be as bad as the other times, at least we do love each other and your mother is just too excited." Rai added.
"Yeah, at least she's not going by the rules again." Merida sighs.
"At least she wants to make you happy." Rai said.
"Okay, let's just go back and we'll think of something." Merida said.
"Because we're too young still?" He asked.
"Yup. We're dating but it doesn't mean I have to get married right away." She said.
"Okay, let's just say, let's just delay the marriage." Rai said.
They nodded and went outside and they saw many of the maids preparing for a big event.
"If your mother and father doesn't force us." Rai said as the two looked at each other with a nervous look.
"Let's sneak away." Merida mutters.
The two went to the side to avoid being seen since they really got to get away from this mess they made.
"Why does this always happens to us." They said at the same time.
Kouga saw that from a window as he sits on a tree.
He chuckles. "Well Rai, looks like your one like guy to get married now."
"I hope he can deal with this because we have bigger problems." Zaruba said.
"Yup." He nodded.
Note: Heres the second part and Eleanor is making a marriage between Merida and Rai, not because of rules but because she got too excited.
