"Hello!" Miyano cheerfully waves a hello. Whomever she is waving hello to is an absolute mystery. That is, until Miyano continues.
"I'm talking to you guys. That's right, you people reading this fanfic right now!" She states in a smug face.
"Now I know what you're thinking: 'What happened after the last chapter? What kind of song would I play on the Piano?' That answer will have to wait for now!"
In this completely new setting, which seems to be a completely empty blank white space, with not a single thing besides Miyano herself to be seen.
However, another voice, seemingly called out to Miyano out of nowhere. "Hey, what the heck are you doing here? You're not supposed to break the fourth wall."
"Huh? Who are you?" Miyano looked around, to see no one. "Rather, where are you?"
"Down here!" The voice said. Miyano promptly looked down, to see a petite little bird below her feet.
Miyano's eyes widened, and she blinked in disbelief. "A talking bird?"
She crouched down to get a closer look, her sense of wonder overcoming any fear she might have felt. "You can talk?"
"Well of course I can!" The bird flaps their wings in a tiny fit of rage. "Well, I guess that reaction is to be expected."
"I'm a bird, but I would rather be called a Blue Jay. That's my species after all. Call me 'Jay' for short."
"Okay, Jay… Do you live here?"
"No, no, no. I'll ask the questions here. What are you doing here? Characters aren't meant to be here."
"Even if you ask that…" Miyano trailed off.
"Hm. I suppose it doesn't matter all that much." Jay shook their head, shrugging their wings.
"Okay, this is too confusing." Miyano spoke up. "I must be dreaming right?"
"You could put it that way." Jay replied, flying up and gliding around. "I'm willing to bet that you will forget all the events that happen here once you leave."
"I see…?"
Jay nodded. "I know this because I'm essentially the author of this bad fanfic, and you are a character of this bad fanfic."
Jay immediately spoke out in an upbeat tone. "Putting that aside now, we can take this opportunity to hold a non-canonical Q&A for our readers!"
"Wait! Is it just me or did you just gloss over the most shocking piece of information in my life!?"
Although Miyano was a bit confused, she was well aware that she shouldn't bore the readers. They're going out of this way to read this special chapter after all. "Well, I suppose it cannot be helped." She said with a sigh, calming down.
"Let's start with our first topic, the endless amount of amazing works that exist!" Jay said.
"Yeah, I love anime, manga and such." Miyano said, with a blissful grin on her face. "By the way, what is your favorite anime, Jay?"
"Haha! You would know that a real Otaku wouldn't have a real favorite." Jay retorted with a laugh.
"...you got me there."
"I would have to say that 'Kaguya-Sama' is probably my favorite for the time being. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure 'Oregairu' won the vote quite some time ago. I guess that's the story you're writing after Re:Zero."
As Jay had mentioned, 'Oregairu' was the most requested story to be included, despite Jay's preference. The little bird was still going to be fair about it, and they had already jotted down some notes to plan for the basic plot of the arc.
"Wait. I'm the one deciding what to write though. Are you gonna force me to write the story? Not that I hate 'Oregairu' or anything."
"Nah, you'll end up picking it. Since I would write it that way, fate will probably do its job." Jay explained.
"I see." Miyano mused, not mad at all.
"What about your favorite?" Jay asked. "The readers are probably curious about your answer."
"Though I like Toaru, it's not my favorite." Miyano confessed. "It's only special to me because it's the first work of art I've seen."
"I see."
"As for my real favorite, I have no idea." Many different choices came to Miyano's mind. If the 'Promised Neverland' hadn't had a ruined second season, she probably would have picked it.
"Well, it's nice that you have a memorable first anime. My first was 'In another world with my Smartphone.'"
It was just your everyday classic harem isekai.
"W-wow." Miyano said with a somewhat monotone voice. "How did that go for you?"
"Since I had no standards, I actually quite enjoyed it. Most of the cringey jokes and fan service flew over my head."
"Well, moving on. Let's start with a pretty common question most people in the reviews have been raising for the past… while."
"What is it?" Miyano asked curiously.
"It's about Misaki's ability." Jay revealed.
"Oh."
"...you forgot, didn't you?"
"...no."
"Well, I'm not sure if I had already addressed this or not, but Misaki is unable to know anything about the other world." Jay stated as a matter of factly. They breathed a sigh afterwards. "I was going to make a quick story about how she was holding up, but stuff happens you know?"
"Wait, so Misaki won't know about our world? Even if it's in my thoughts?"
"Yes. That doesn't stop her from knowing all of your inner ideas regarding stories though."
"Oh."
"Yeah, you better be careful. Not that you'll remember this anyway."
"I don't really get many questions besides requests to implement different wonderful works." Jay said. "Some had even suggested Movies to Webtoons, to even hardcover books like Harry Potter."
"...will you do Harry Potter?"
"...I can't say. I already have a lot on my plate."
Miyano decided to change the subject. "Speaking of Webtoons, have you read any?"
"Oh, I have read plenty." Jay replied.
"I almost read 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' once. Too bad I never got the chance to." Miyano mentioned.
"Oh, that one. Let me tell you about it." Jay flew over and landed on Miyano's shoulder.
"So, this guy reads an webnovel." Jay began.
"And…?"
"...that's it." Jay finished.
"..."
"I'm kidding. It's just that I can't be spoiling much you know? It's a good series though, with lots of unique characters. It can be a bit complicated in the endgame though." Jay spoke as a matter of fact.
Miyano partially scoffed at the unfunny awkward joke. "...are there any other questions you would like me to ask?"
"Here's a recent one: Do you Know about "Death Battle" Because Mikoto appears in Death Battle against Killua?" Jay asked.
"No." Miyano replied.
"..."
"..."
"That's it?"
"Well, what else did you want me to say?"
"No… it's just that this was the only question asked in the reviews." Jay said.
"...so there are no more questions left?"
"...yes."
"...your fanfics aren't all that good, are they?" Miyano pointed out.
"No… maybe."
Miyano barely managed to hold back a laugh.
"Don't laugh, okay? Urgh…" Jay protested. "How embarrassing…"
Miyano simply had to tease further. "I'm sorry… It's just that compared to my stories, yours are just kinda-"
"OOOOKKAAAAY!" Jay immediately cuts Miyano off. "Dear readers, we will be cutting this special chapter short!"
"Some special chapter that was…"
"Shut it! At least I didn't do a fanservice chapter! And somebody has midterms to do!"
"Do birds even have midterms?"
"I'm sending you back now!" Jay yelled out in a gleeful rush.
