In the viewing area, the monitoring screen displayed the winning and losing scores between Class 1-A and Class 1-B. So far, both classes currently have one win, one loss, and a draw.
"Currently, Class A and Class B are neck and neck when you look at the stats!" Vlad King cried out. "But while they may seem evenly matched, the truth is, Class A's win was mostly thanks to Shinso, so it barely counts!" He started laughing bizarrely. "I think we all know what that says about them!"
"You're gotta stop rooting for your class, Mr. Vlad!" Kirishima and Kaminari called out in annoyance.
Tarot Chariot, All Might, and Midnight watched Vlad King with deadpan faces.
"Vlad sure is hot blooded for someone with blood control." Midnight remarked.
"He obviously loves his students." All Might said.
"A lot." Tarot Chariot added.
"Stop complaining." Aizawa said as he walked past behind Kirishima and Kaminari.
"What?! Sir, this is a legitimate protest!" Kaminari said.
"Is this how you react if you mess up in a real fight?" Aizawa questioned. "Meanwhile, Class B is coming up with plans and countermeasures to win. Vlad speaks the truth, which means he's technically beating me."
That earned frowns from Kirishima, Tokoyami, Aoyama, and Kaminari.
Vlad King continued laughing at Class 1-A's scolding. Soon, Monona joined in with his teacher.
"Not surprised these troublemakers can't hack it!" Monona cackled boastingly. "Wanna know why? The reason you get caught up in so many disasters is because you're immature!"
Suddenly, Kendo knocked Monoma out to the ground with her signature karate chop. Even Vlad King turned around in utter confusion.
Tarot Chariot, All Might, and Midnight looked up at the monitoring screen.
"Class B has been training hard every day to become stronger." All Might said. "Class A still has plenty to offer."
"You certainly are sweet on Class A." Midnight said.
"My husband is fond with every student." Tarot Chariot said.
Even though All Might is rooting for everyone, his mind silently focused on Katsuki's Quirk potential in the match.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do and what you've learned, young Bakugo. All Might thought.
Katsuki started rocketing forward through the air. Sato, Jiro, and Sero struggled to keep up with their explosive student down below. Earlier before the match started, Katsuki handed one of his makeshift grenades to his teammates.
Up ahead, Katsuki continued flying above his teammates. He suddenly stopped his flight as if he spotted something flying out in the distance. He then quickly fired an explosive blast at it and landed on one of the pipelines.
Jiro inserted one earlobe to the pipeline and the other earlobe to the ground. She began listening for any sound vibrations across the area. But she was only receiving dozens of sounds coming from different directions, disrupting her concentration and making it impossible to pinpoint her 1-B's exact positions. What she doesn't know is that there were multiple fragments bouncing and crawling on the pipes. As Jiro tried to concentrate, she immediately realized what Team 1-B was planning.
Then, Jiro warned her team that Team 1-B had already set up a trap.
A detached mouth hovered up behind Katsuki with a smile. Katsuki quickly turned and swung his gauntlet at the hovering mouth, but it swiftly moved away and more purple pieces began flying towards him. That detached mouth belonged to the voice of Tokage. Her Quirk allowed her to split her body into several pieces at a time and control them at will. At the moment, Tokage's detached eye floated up high in the air as it began undetectably observing the battlefield.
Tokage then sent out pieces of her body barraging straight towards Katsuki with rapid-fire small hits. The explosive 1-A student tried to push them back from his explosions with a struggle. He then attempted to evade away, but Tokage's body pieces began following after him.
Then, Sero immediately covered his surroundings around himself, Sato, and Jiro with a large, protective barricade of tape.
Katsuki flew overhead just as Tokage's body pieces started merging together into her head.
From above, Kojiro poked his head out and sloshed out large amounts of a glue-like liquid all over Sero's tape barricade from the seven holes on his glue-dispenser-shaped face. Kojiro's glue-like liquid instantly dried Sero's tape barricade.
As Team 1-A had no easy way to escape, Togaru jumped down from above. He then produced large blades from his forearms and began slashing through all the pipes at a swift speed, causing them to fall directly on top of Sero, Sato, and Jiro into a sticky wall of rubble. At the same time, more of Tokage's pieces began forming around her body.
Sato quickly stretched out his arms and caught the large pipe while protecting Sero and Jiro at the same time. Then, a large burst of explosion blew the pipes away. Sero, Sato, and Jiro turned their heads to see Katsuki flying directly over them, but their explosive teammate was still being barraged by Tokage's body pieces.
With Team 1-A's protective shelter destroyed, Togaru propelled himself off the pipes and launched himself straight for Jiro with swift speed.
Then suddenly, Katsuki stepped in and kicked Jiro out of the way, placing himself between his teammate and Togaru.
Everyone was shockingly stunned by what they had just witnessed. Katsuki's unexpected action mostly caught All Might, Izuku, and Luna's attention.
Save people to win. All Might thought.
Win to save people. Izuku and Luna thought.
With a dangerous smirk, Katsuki then unleashed a massive explosion right in front of Togaru. But Togaru protected himself with thick blades as a shield from his arms that sent him flying backwards. Katsuki released another powerful explosion, sending the 1-B student flying backwards again. While flying through the air, Togaru managed to produce a blade from his back and pierced it into a pipe.
Katsuki then landed on one of the pipes just as Jiro inserted her earlobes to the pipelines again.
Monoma looked completely flabbergasted. He couldn't believe how Katsuki is now looking out for and supporting others. But he's not alone. Kirishima and Kaminari also looked surprised, finding hard to witness Katsuki putting himself on the line for the first time.
"Sorry, what?" Monona said in an astonished voice as he was rubbing his eyes in disbelief. "There must be something in my eyes. Looked like he protected Jiro just now."
"Heck yeah he did. By kicking her." Kaminari said.
"You're getting to see what our Bakugo is really like." Kirishima said, placing his hand on a twitching Monona's shoulder. "Cool, huh? Don't worry. Your eyes are fine."
"Are you telling me his personality changed?" Monona yelled.
Monona shrieked in an oddly strange position.
"Uh, well, I guess what he just did is kinda new." Kirishima said. "Never see him put so much on the line."
Togaru quickly detached himself from the pipe before and falling back to a retreat with his teammates. Kojiro began running to locate his teammates too. Tokage, on the other hand, already began scattering body pieces all over the pipes.
Jiro began listening for any sound vibrations to figure out location of the opposing team. She only received fewer sounds of Tokage's scattering body pieces, but she managed to detect the other three 1-B students moving away at a distance.
With that, Katsuki speedily took off. He blasted forward across the air until his eyes caught a retreating Kojiro from above. Kojiro noticed the explosive 1-A student and immediately ran off into the corner as fast as he can. Katsuki quickly launched himself after Kojiro until Yosetsu jumped out from his hiding spot. Yosetsu pulled out some steel logs from his bag on his belt and swiftly interconnected them onto Katsuki's back and gauntlets, successfully trapping him to the pipes.
Sero fired a stream of tape at Yosetsu. But the 1-B student quickly ran off out of the 1-A student's sight. Sato rushed forward towards Katsuki. He unleashed a rapid flurry of punches with blinding speed, destroying the interconnected steel logs and his teammate's grenade gauntlets while freeing him at the same time.
With a wicked smile, Katsuki took off across the air and began hunting for Yosetsu within the pipes.
Seeing Katsuki flying from behind, Yosetsu turned around and pulling out more steel logs, welding them into a protective shield. However, at the last second, Katsuki fired an explosion and flew upwards over the 1-B student. When the smoke cleared, Yosetsu caught the sight of Sero swinging over from above and carrying Jiro in his other arm. Once Sero and Jiro landed on the ground, Jiro plugged her earphone jacks into her wrist amplifiers on her forearms. She then removed the amplifiers from her wrists and directed them towards the 1-B student, unleashing a powerful soundwave that shattered Yosetsu's welding shield and immobilized him in place.
Then, Katsuki flew across the air straight towards Kojiro.
In a panic, Tokage saw Katsuki flying straight towards Kojiro's direction. She quickly detached more of her body pieces and her hands that were sent flying straight towards Katsuki, who managed to catch up with the runaway 1-B student. Kojiro quickly turned around and unleashed glue-like liquid at the 1-A student. But Katsuki easily destroyed the glue-like liquid with his explosions. With an evil smile on his face, Katsuki then bombarded Kojiro with a wide cascade of explosions, leaving the 1-B student completely dazed.
When Katsuki quickly flew away, Sato quickly apprehended Kojiro while Sero already wrapped up an immobilized Yosetsu with his tape.
So far, Team 1-A successfully captured two students of Team 1-B.
"What unexpected teamwork from Class A!" Vlad King reported. "They managed to take two of my dear students in an instant!"
"Well, I'll be damned. It may be hard to believe, but it looks like Bakugo can work well with others." Diana said, crossing her arms over her chest.
Bakugo's beginning to trust his teammates. Luna smiled. It is an unexpected twist, but I'm impressed.
Jiro then inserted her earphone jacks to the pipes and immediately pinpointed one of the remaining Team 1-B competitors. She aimed her earphone jack to her left, leaving Katsuki to follow the direction of Togaru.
At the same time, Togaru's currently fighting Sero in midair. Before Togaru moved towards Sero with his blades, Katsuki suddenly appeared right in front of him. He quickly grabbed the 1-B student's horn and then propelled himself in a spinning motion, rotating himself and Togaru with explosions from his other arm and fiercely throwing the 1-B student away straight into the building wall.
As an unconscious Togaru fell from the building wall, Sero quickly wrapped him with his tape. His eyes then caught Tokage's body pieces flying in the opposite direction. During the fight, Tokage's detaching body pieces are beginning to regenerate on her main body in a state of terror. Sero wasted no time and attached Katsuki's grenade to one of her body pieces.
Elsewhere, more of her detached pieces flew back to Tokage and formed her body. Her eyes instantly caught a makeshift grenade in one of her body pieces. The makeshift grenade exploded, but Tokage managed to move away in a nick of time. But that explosive blast caught Katsuki's attention just as he flew past her underneath.
Tokage then turned her head just in time to see Katsuki floating right in front of her. Katsuki extended his arms out right up in front of Tokage's face, creating a sphere of light in between his hands. Tokage looked on with a horrified look on her face, knowing that she had no time to escape.
Katsuki then unleashed a large-scale flash explosion, which immediately stunned and immobilized Tokage that sent her crashing and knocking her unconscious to the ground.
Afterwards, Team 1-A tossed the defeated Team 1-B to their jail cell.
The fourth Joint Training match was concluded. On the monitoring screen, Class A had won the match with a perfect 4-0 victory.
"The horror. The shame. The match didn't even last five minutes!" Vlad King announced. "Thanks to unexpected teamwork, Class A wins with the day's first perfect score of four to zero!"
Diana, Aisha, Selene, and Luna watched as Katsuki, Sero, Jiro, and Sato found themselves confronted by All Might, Tarot Chariot, and Midnight.
"You gave me chills." All Might said with a smile.
"What, you catch a cold or something?" Katsuki said, walking away from All Might and his confused teammates.
Luna ran up and wrapped her arms around Katsuki.
"That was amazing, Bakugo." Luna grinned as she hugged her boyfriend affectionately. "Congrats on your improvement."
"Yeah, thanks." Katsuki said. "But remember, I'm still aiming up to surpass you."
Luna released the hug, ignoring the surprising faces from Sero, Sato, Jiro, Kaminari, All Might, and Midnight.
"I know." Luna said.
Izuku then walked up to Katsuki, who walked away from Luna.
"Kacchan!" Izuku spoke.
"Outta my way!" Katsuki barked.
"Uh…I'm not in front of you." Izuku said. "So, what does that even mean?"
Katsuki sighed and walked forward from Izuku.
"I'm pushing ahead." Katsuki said.
"Yeah. You were amazing." Izuku said.
"Huh. I'm moving so fast, you won't be able to catch up." Katsuki said.
"Yes, I will." Izuku nodded simply.
"Shut it, nerd! Dumb words don't mean anything! I won't let you beat me!" Katsuki snapped. "You're trash! A frickin' extra!"
"You have a good boyfriend in that one." Tarot Chariot said, walking up to Luna. "If only he were a tad more polite."
Luna sighed, placing her hands on her hips. Diana, Aisha, and Selene looked at Luna and Katsuki back and forth before exchanging confused faces at each other.
All Might, Tarot Chariot, Midnight, Eraserhead, and Vlad King gathered together.
"The new guy. How's he doing?" Tarot Chariot asked Eraserhead.
"This battle will determine if he'll be able to transfer into the hero course." Eraserhead responded. "He already showed that he could hold his own in the first match. But I doubt he can use the same trick. They know it now."
"Agreed." Vlad King concurred as he and the other teachers looked up at the viewing screen.
"The Class A team is fairly stacked. I hope the boy fairs well." Midnight commented.
On the monitoring screen, Team 1-A and Team 1-B A headed out to their starting positions.
Round Five: Minoru Mineta, Mina Ashido, Ochaco Uraraka, and Izuku Midoriya vs. Neito Monoma, Yui Kodai, Nirengeki Shoda, Reiko Yanagi, and Hitoshi Shinso
Luna looked up at Izuku and his team on the monitoring screen.
It's your turn, Midoriya. Luna thought with a smile. I'll be rooting for you all the way.
"It's now time for the fifth training match!" Vlad King announced. "Are you ready? Do your best until the last student's down! Begin!"
