Full Moon High Shadows of Love

Chapter 1: New Boy in Town

1 Week Later

Jericho Springs

Jericho Springs had a history of being a logging community that expanded to that of an isolated city within the foundations of the Upper Western State of Washington. It was built in 1852, during a lumber industry if one could remember that far back. But what no one expected was that it was built not too far from an ancient Native American land and burial ground. But despite that, and the sightings of werewolves, Jericho was a somewhat isolated area hidden off from the world. But not unknown to some, as driving through the tree-shaded highway road leading to Jericho, its latest new inhabitances were arriving.

It was a black heavy-lifting truck with an RV trailer behind it, along with a few mover trucks passing it. The occupant driving the vehicle was an adult male with black shave short black hair, a thick brown mustache and brown eyes. He was Mexican in origin with tan skin, a lean solid fit built for himself, and wearing blue jeans, a blue T-shirt and a grey jacket. He was Hugo Martinez, a single parent raising his teen son… though sadly, the two were estranged at the moment.

The passenger that sat on the passenger's side was a sixteen-year-old Mexican boy with a small muscle build compact tight; like a runner or swimmer build. He was a mixture of cute and handsome, with blue eyes, tan skin like the man driving, black hair that reached down to the back of his neck but shaggy bangs almost covering his left side, with the ends spiking up on top. He was wearing blue jeans, black sneakers, a grey t-shirt and a black leather jacket. This was Barry Martinez, the son of Hugo Martinez. Though he had a look of calm on himself, he wasn't liking this move at all.

Though as he looked outside, watching the wall and vastness of trees passing them, he was a bit in awe at it all. "There's a lot of trees out here," Barry mumbled.

Hugo smirked, "That there is, Hijo,"

"That there is Hijo" and where they can talk of Barry's moving issues with them moving to another town after moving away as you know of most kids with moving issues.

"Makes me wonder if there's anything in this.." Barry started, but then arched an eyebrow,a s she slightly turned to his father, and asked, "What is this place called again?"

"Jericho Springs Hijo. And I must say this is a nice place." Then after a few minutes of silence, he sighs. "Look Hijo, I know how tough it is to move to here, but you must understand why we moved."

Barry had an idea, but he wanted to have him say it, "And that is?"

"Cause of me getting this job and my insurance helping us in finding a place after we nearly lost our house to back at the old town due to a fire."

"And the fact that Mom's passing in our old town, and moving here to help me forget, while I leave all my friends behind makes 'no, nevermind' to you," Barry pointed out, calmly but bitterly, as he looked back at the window, "Huh?'

"Hijo. I know that your mother's passing was a tragedy, but she will always be with us no matter what and still loves us dearly. And she wouldn't want to have you so saddened and angry over us moving here."

"I could have gotten over it back in Vansville, Arizona. Not in the middle of nowhere in the Upper West of the US, where there's probably no wifi towers," Barry argued.

"Hijo, I'm only saying this because this is a chance for us both to make some changes in our lives and have an impact."

Barry turned to him and then said, "Keep telling yourself that." They then passed a sign that said:

Welcome to Jericho Springs.

"Welp looks like were here!" They then pass through the town, noticing that it's decent and the folks are walking by, doing they're business and such.

The community looked to be a mixture of a Logging community with cabin stores that still maintained a feel of the 1950s while at the same time, there were more modern buildings. It seemed that most of the town was still welcomed to nature, as the vast forest was still untouched from beyond the concrete structures. But it also seemed the town was near a lake that led out from a hillside passage that led near the ocean, but was unseen. Near the lake was a kind of port with ships; some fishing, some home boats, and such. Though the truck seemed to be heading towards the lake. Barry arched an eyebrow, as he asked, "We're living on a boat?"

He chuckled, "No, even better than a boat."

Barry arched an eyebrow, as his dad followed the movers. Once the trucks parked to their location, which was outside of town, and near a neighborhood named Willow Brooks, Barry noticed they were leaving the packed neighborhood, and he asked, "Um, Dad. We missed the neighborhood."

"I know, but that not where we're moving into, where we're moving into would make those living in the neighborhood really jealous."

Then once they were almost close to the forest area, but close to the lake, Barry saw the house. Nestled in isolation, was a Skylark English Cottage Home. It appeared to have 3 floors to it, with the front door on the 2nd floor while the 3-car garage was the first floor, and had a covered front porch with a walk-out basement. The 2nd floor had a balcony porch with benches and a kind of coffee table fireplace for cooking food or just to keep warm. There were two chimneys, one built on the right side, while the other was built in the center As the movers had begun to unpack everything, the truck stopped as both father and son stepped out from the truck parked on the sloped lot to the garage.

Both father and son pulled up to the house as they parked at the stairway. When the two got out, they both couldn't stop staring at the place, until his dad finally said, "Ela nao e uma Beleza."

Barry shrugged, "I guess if you say so, Dad."

They then went to take a look inside of the house, marveling on the way it is built.

"Wow you were right. She is a beauty."

The place looked huge, like a lodge, as Barry looked around with his backpack in towe, as he looked to hsi dad, arching an eyebrow, "Dad? Who else did you plan to have move in with us?" He then gestured all over, as he said, "This place looks like it could have 10 people living here instead of 2."

"Well I didn't think it was this big, but it's at least better than anything else you could ever afford."

Barry looked to his dad and arched an eyebrow, "Really?"

He blushed "Ok, I might have gone into overkill."

Barry then said, "Well, at least if we get invaded by serial killers, the neighborhood won't hear from afar."

Then they start to sort their stuff out and place what goes where.

Later that Night

Barry's room was on the 2nd floor on the right. His room half-finished, as he sat in his bed, his shoes off, as he looked up at the ceiling, and then to the window, showing an almost full moon from the clouds. The moon reflecting in the water at the moment. At a time like this, he would probably sneak off to town, but from the drive, it'd probably take an hour on foot, 30 minutes on bike.
Barry sighed, as he looked up at the roof, as he groaned, "You couldn't pick a place closer to town. Could you, Dad?"

"Well why not just look at the same boring houses of town, and look at the endless beauty of the trees themselves."

Barry shot up surprised to see his dad in hsi room. A bit startled, he was more annoyed, as he asked, "Dad, didn't knocking on the door used to be an advisory warning? You almost gave me a heart attack."

"Heh well, where's the humor in that?"

Barry scowled at this, as he asked, "Why do I have the feeling you'll be the death of me one day?"

"The fact that me and your mother brought you into the world."

Barry sighed, as he and his dad still kept their distance, while Barry had an unamused look on his face. An awkward silence lingered on them both, well mostly with Hugo to his son.

"So how is the room for you?"

"Big." Barry looked around it and said, "Could be a storage area than a bedroom. Not sure what I'm gonna do with all this insanely large space."

Hugo shrugged, as he smiled, trying to assure his son, "I'm pretty sure we'll find a way to help fill it up."

"Yeah," Barry said, but then looked to his father, "Listen. I'm going to go to bed early. Seems that Login High School is a long way, and since we're so far, I wanna try and check out the town. Get a bit of a layout of the place."

"That's fine Hijo, now just be back before Midnight."

Barry laid down, as he was about to sleep. But then decided to joke, "Who knows if I'll be back. I might find a girlfriend at that time."

Moments Later
Outside

Then he decided to go take a walk into town after getting his shoes on, and walk out just to see the moon itself.

Barry looked up at the night sky, feeling the night wind on him, as he stood there without his jacket. He sighed, as he told himself, "2 years. I can stay here 2 years and move back to Arizona. I doubt there's anything here for me."

Then he began to trek down the road, barely even remembering where to head back to his new home.

The road didn't' seem all that far into the neighborhood, but it went passed the forest. Which to him was kinda eerie to say the least.

"Well either go through here or end up lost, guess I have no choice."

So, going against any warning bells in his head, Barry decided to go through the forest. Luckily for him, there appeared to be a path, so there was a nature walk to it. The trail was dirt with a few rocks lined up to make an entrance path for himself. "Guess this won't be too boring if there are nature hikes," Barry assured himself, though was a bit unsure of it.

As he continued walking, he doesn't seem to notice a pair of eyes watching his every move.

A pair of black and yellow iris-glowing eyes.

They watched as he then took the road down to town.

The town though was pretty quiet... as everything was closed, so that was a bust for Barry. But the stroll through the forest was nice. The walk that lasted nearly an hour to get from there to here was a tad worth it, even if the town was dead at night.

"Well at least the town itself is decent enough." Suddenly a police car showed up in front of him.

Barry jumped as he almost yelped, until it stopped right in front of him, barely inching at him, as the boy froze. At that moment, an officer stepped out, as he flashed his light, "You. What are you doing out here?"

"I'm new in town, Officer," Barry answered, shielding his eyes, as he explained, "I'm Barry Martinez. My dad, Hugo Martinez, just moved in today. I was only out walking to get a good layout of the town to familiarize myself. I'll be registering for classes tomorrow. So I figured I would look for a quick path to get to the high school."

"So I figured. Well I hope that you don't get lost too much. Cause folks always going around that forest always get lost, took a few hours to find them."

Barry arched an eyebrow, as he asked, "What's the big deal? There's a forest path and all."

"The big deal is that rumors of wild animals are always prowling around, bears probably. People who are afraid to come there, are always frightened by the threat of bears that come out of nowhere. And there are rumors and sightings of lost hikers getting ripped to shreds. Not to mention we've had lots of deer carcass sightings. Their bodies torn to shreds."

"You have Grizzly Brown Bears here," Barry asked.

"Who knows, but I'm just giving you a heads up and all. Tell you what, why don't i give you a ride back to your new home, seeing as how it's too dark to be roaming around at this time."

Barry sweatdropped, 'Dad is not gonna like this.'

Later

Back at the Martinez Residence

The cop car pulled over, as the officer allowed Barry to get out of the back.

Hugo was outside, with only a look as he spoke with the officer. Then he asked, "Alright what you do this time?" The sheriff then said, "Nothing much, just gave your son a ride back to here seeing as how it was getting too dark out and all."

"He offered me a ride," Barry stated. "You know, you should let your son drive or at least get him a motorbike. They're actually pretty cheap here," the officer advised, "It's actually kind of insisted, even car prices are super cheap around the hundreds instead of thousands. They make for good movable barriers from animal attacks."

Hugo looked surprised, "Really? Sounds great! But what do you mean by animal attacks?"

"You didn't know when you moved here," the officer asked.

"No, for I was not expecting to hear of animal attacks. This is the first I'm hearing this."

"Jericho Springs has a history of animal attacks, more specifically in the forests," the officer explained. "Not to mention a lot of weird stuff that goes on in there. Though a few times, weird things include nudist colonies being spotted, but that's normal. Most people like to be one with nature and all."

"I see. Well thanks for reminding us sheriff."

"No problem," the officer said, as he tipped his hat. But then gave him a card reading, Benson's Motor Bikes and Vehicles, "In case you wanna give your kid a vehicle for the advice." He then walked to his vehicle and then drove off heading back to town.

"Well that was convincing, but we better rest it off. You got your first day of school tomorrow and we better get some shut eye."

"Yeah," Barry said as he and his father walked up the stairs, while Barry looked at the are to where the forest was, and whispered, "And hopefully no bear attacks."

Unbeknownst to him, the same glowing eyes that have been tracking him could still be seen in the darkest part of the forest.

Morning

Login High School

The highschool looked to be something built in the 80s, but kept well up to date. What no one knew was that it had a majority of security systems installed. A precaution to perhaps break ins or maybe the animal attacks. The inside though was pretty clean and neat, and even the teens were just having the usual day in and out for school. Though Barry wasn't a student there yet, but that would soon. change.

Barry went through the hall to the principal's office, and walked to teh front desk. A clerk was there, as he asked, "Hello. I'm Barry Martinez. I just moved to town and wish to enroll."

"Ah yes, we had an email that detailed your arrival, Mr. Martinez," the clerk said, as he asked, "Were you emailed a list of class electives and chose beforehand?"

"Yeah I think so, but can you look it up for me so I'll know?"

The clerk nodded, "Of course. Just give me a couple of minutes to find it." The clerk then pointed to a row of waiting chairs, "You can wait there while I find it."

"Sure thing" He then went over to sit down.

As Barry sat down, he waited for his files to come in. Though at the moment, he didn't realize he wouldn't be alone at the moment.

At that moment, a girl walked in to the waiting room. She was a sixteen-year-old caucasian female with a cheerleader figure; C cup breasts, tight waist, clear skin, and sexy slender legs. She had long blonde hair that reached to the tailbone of her buttocks, brown eyes with a beautiful face to boot, and her hair was done up in an upper ponytail. She wore a light lavender strapless shirt that showed her bosom, a mini purple long-sleeved jacket with a white fluff collar, a purple mini skirt with a dark purple belt around her waist, black pantyhose with brown boots that ended under her knees. But to no one else... she wore no underwear. This was Rebecca McAllister, or Becky for short; the richest girl in Jericho Springs, the Queen Bee of Login High School... and a metaphorical maneater at best.

Becky looked to see on her left and saw Barry. The girl was a bit calm on it, but she slowly started to smile, and without Barry's consent or notice, she snapped a shot with her pink cellphone cam.

Barry looked a little stunned of her flashing her camera at him, "Um can I help you?"

Becky smiled, as she asked, "You got a name, sexy?"

"Yeah it's Barry Martinez," he answered her, a bit wary of her actions to him.

Becky smiled, as she then sat down next to him, "Rebecca McAllistar. Or Becky, if you'd like. Queen Bee of the scene and your guide to all the dos and don'ts of Login High."

"Uh nice to meet you Becky."

"Oh, the way you say my name..." She shivered a bit, as she smiled, "Really tingles me."

He felt unnerved by this gesture, but decided not to make a scene

Becky then asked, "Sooo... you new in town?"

"Yeah just moved in yesterday."

"Made any friends," Becky asked, almost hoping for the answer she wanted.

Unknown to her that two figures were making their way to the office.

"Uh no not recently."

Becky leaned forward, as she smiled, "Well, if you'd like..." She then whispered, "I can be your friend."

Barry really felt unnerved about her as he answered her, "Um, how about after I get settled to class."

"I can give a tour," Becky insisted, as she gently whispered in his ear, tickling it, as she seductively whispered, "Even private parts."

"WHAAAAAAAAAAA?!"

CRASH!

Both jumped as the turned to the door, to see a girl flat on her face with books scattered and a gamegirl in her hand. She slowly started to get up as she graoned from the impact. She was a sixteen-year-old Taiwanese-American teenage girl, with a slim figure; AA cup breasts, slim waist, and slender long legs. She had olive skin, short, shiny black hair cut to her neck with green streaks in the front of her bangs, and dark brown oval eyes. She wore a green turtleneck sleeveless shirt, a gray blue sweater jacket tied around her waist, while also wearing a green mini skirt with a blue pouch belt containing games, black workout pants underneath while also having on black combat boots. This was Regina M Woo, a gaming geek and kind of a klutz, earning her a nickname Kharmi due to her clumsy kharma.

"Huh?"

Regina got up as she groaned, "Ugh, what happened?"

"You were playing your game while you were hauling those books to the main office, Regi," a boy's voice talked, as the figure of the voice walked on in.

He was a sixteen-year-old American male teenager with a slim but small muscle build like Barry. Only he had sky blue hair, possibly dyed, with a bang combed to the right to almost hide the right side of his face, clear skin, blue eyes, and a cute face. He wore a black long-sleeved shirt with the cuffs linking around his thumbs, a blue hoodie jacket with big baggy gray sleeves on ending at the elbows, a black sweatjacket wrapped around hsi waist, while he had blue jeans with dark blue padded knees on, and black and blue sneakers. This was Max Thomason, a childhood friend of Regina as well as a ninja junkie. Meaning he was good at sneaking and martial arts. Both looked to Barry as Max said, "New Kid alert." Regina paled, as she said, "And Becky's about to sink her stinger in him!" The front desk person then pointed out, "I have your class list right here, Mr. Martinez." Regina quickly pulled it and grabbed Barry pulling him away from a distraught Becky, "HEY!" Max got in front of them, as he raised his right hand up as he called out calmly, "Ninja vanish!" And then threw down something as the room filled up with stage performance smoke.

"What was all that about?!"

As Barry is then dragged further.

Both were in the clearing with him... as Barry realized they were in the empty cafeteria, as Max said, "And we are safe." Regina looked to Barry, almost haggard, as she said, "You were so lucky she didn't have you then and there. I think she's into that kind of stuff as a turn-on."

"So I heard," he said, relieved on that.

Max looked to him and said, "So you are aware that Becky McAllistair is not only the Queen Bee... but a nymphomaniac, right?"

"No, I did not," Barry answered, a bit relieved he wasn't her latest catch.

Regi placed a hand on his shoulder and looked to him sympathetically, "You are a lucky guy that you didn't get in the sack with that girl."

Max nodded, but then said, "Oh, we haven't really introduced ourselves." He then smiled as he placed a hand on his chest, "Max Thomason. Geek Boy, Ninja Fanatic, and future hope to make Ninja-themed sports of the school." He then motioned to Regi, "This is Regina M. Woo. I call her Regi. But everyone calls her Kharmi."

"On the count I'm a bit of a klutz when I'm not paying attention," Regina said, as she smiled nodding to Max, "I'm also Max's BFF. Bestest Friend Forever."

Barry nodded, as he shook their hands, actually happy to have met people that weren't trying to make a pass at him, "Well it's nice to meet you guys, but I think we should get to class soon."

"Dude, it's Friday," Max said.

"Yeah, and since of the latest animal attack, it's free period while all the grownups are having a town meeting about this," Regi said. But then smiled, "You can check out our club. Maybe even join it, Mr..."

Then Max snapped his fingers, "Shoot, we don't know your name."

Barry shook his head, as he made introductions, "Its Barry. Barry Martinez."

Both smiled, as Max said, "Nice to meet you, Barry."

Regi then beamed a smile, "So... want us to give you a tour of the school while going to our club room?"

Barry tought on it, and looked to the two, to make sure they weren't like Becky. Though in honesty, they seemed eager to show him, almost like they wanted to invite him to join. He then shrugged, as he half-smirked, "Uh sure I guess it won't bite."

Moments Later

The two had actually done as they promised, while also avoiding Becky McAllistar, who seemed to be hunting Barry down. Though around the time, they had shown Barry around while looking at his schedule, it seemed both friends would be in his home room and lunch, as well as a few classes. All the while Barry was impressed with the school. It had an indoor gym and pool to go with it, and where they were going was an abandoned section of the school. Abandoned because nobody bothered to use it, which made it easy for Regina and Max to use it as a club house. To which Barry was impressed, but a bit disheartened the two didn't have many friends except for each other. Though when they got to the club room, it was something else. It was a gaming center with Ninja-based themed stuff around it. Clothing, books on shinobi and weaponry, fake weapons for display, and even an entertainment system for DVDs involving anime and such.

Barry looked in astonishment at all this, "Wow I did not expect all of this!"

"We've been working on this ever since we were freshmen," Max honestly answered. "Though you're looking at the only two members of it."

"And this is only the sub club," Regina said as she walked over to a tarped area, as she walked over to the curtain to pull at it, "Our real club activity..." And then pulled out what to be a 'Murder Board' of shots, newspaper clippings, and notes all connected with red string and tacs. "... the Mysteries of Jericho Springs."

Barry walked over to the wall and some of the shots looked like blurred shots of an animal, while others were silhouettes of a few beings in water... with tails. And another looked like some kind of flying pterodactyls in the skies at night, while others looked like hulking figures hiding in the trees. And a few looked like blurred shots of some smooth surfaced object flying in clouded skies.

"Wow," Barry said, as he looked around the place, "You guys like a lot of Japanese stuff."

Both Regina and Max looked to each other, and then to Barry, a bit disappointed at the obviousness of what they showed to him. Regina got into his face, and freaked out, "Barry! Do you not see the collaboration in collective evidence of the weirdness that is our home town?! And all you can say is that we like a lot of Japanese stuff?!"

"Sorry I'm just getting used to this," Barry said, as he held his hands up in defense.

"Oh sorry, about that," Regina apologized, "It's just we agreed we would put our best hobbies together into a club,"

"But we also agreed to make a club to try and solve the many mysteries of Jericho Springs," Max concluded.

""But all in all, we are both anime/manga hardcore fans and otakus of all ninja and samurai memorabilia," Regi smiled.

"What mysteries?"

"The mysteries over here," Regina pulled Barry over to show him the clippings, "Locals have spotted mysterious beasts within the woods. The shapes too out of place to be bears." And then another, "Fish People popping up in Deep Blue Lake." Then whipped over to another one, "Dinosaurs in Jericho?" And then other, "The Chupaccabra is on the Loose." And then pointed to the strange blurred shot of what looked to be a UFO, "I'm not entirely sure what this is, but the camera was found on a hillside along with random metallic stuff, like a Horse Trap or a scooter."

Barry blinked on all this, not certain if it was all too clear, "Huh cool, just hope it doesn't get too weird."

"Ooooh, it gets weird," Max said, as he pointed to the recent animal attacks, "The attacks have doubled, and even more so, there have been people missing." "One of them was a family camping," Regina explained. "The camper was found trashed, and the family all missing. NO blood, nothing."

Barry blinked at this, "Really?"

"But that's not the weird thing," Regina said, as she pulled out snapshots, "Max and I went out to investigate, while almost maintaining vigilance with my drone from above and all sides for safety... and found these." They were snapshots of the metallic parts of the camper that were scattered, "Anything weird about this?"

Barry looked at them, and shook his head, "No not that I know of."

"The metal was torn off, and there are clawmarks in them," Regina stated, getting almost freaked out in Barry's face, as he shrunk back, while she screamed, "BEAR CLAWS AREN'T THAT STRONG ENOUGH TO BREAK THROUGH STEEL!"

Max got behind Barry to assure him, "You'll have to forgive Regi. She's a bit excited on this."

Barry nodded to that, as he said, "Right. So anything else I should know"

Max then said, "Well, Regi's got a theory on it. She thinks what attacked the camper, as well as all those other animal attacks are caused by..."

"A werewolf!" Regina shouted, freaking out the two boys. A moment of silence swept over, as she backed away, shying, "Sorry. I wanted to say it, and I got too excited."

Though Barry didn't seem to buy it, as he asked credulously, "Werewolf huh? And I've seen Sasquatch playing basketball with a Yeti."

Max shook his head, as Regi got into Barry's face again, as she explained, "It all makes sense. Animal attacks come out of nowhere, with no sightings or clues of their existence in the area. Legends have it that their claws and fangs are strong enough to leave marks in steel. That and there's always howling in Jericho Springs. But nobody can spot a wolf pack in any location."

Barry shrugged, "Because there never was any wolves in Seattle."

"Wolf populations were gone, but I heard rumors of wolves migrating from Canada to all the way here," Regi argued.

Max shook his head, "Well, me and Regina have been trying to find any traces of evidence that these guys exist."

"We've even set up traps nearby," Regina explained. "Deadfalls that are non-lethal but surrounded by Mountain Ash. It's actually true they can't pass the stuff. There are even lasso snare traps we set up with the ropes coated with a silver-like powder." But then she stated, "But just enough to ensure it won't burn through them."

"Regi's figured that this stuff is only lethal when it's a silver blade or silver bullet," Max chimed in.

Barry then asked, "Well, what do you guys plan to do when you catch one?"

Regi then pulled out a tape recorder, as she went all news girl, "We're gonna interview them on all the secrets of Jericho Springs. The Supernatural stuff."

"Wow, well hope that the vampires don't bump in the night too. So anyway, any other monsters and myths I should be on the lookout for?"

"Well, that's why we need to find the werewolf: to ask if the vampire situation is real and that if there other cryptids hidden in Jericho Springs," Regina explained. "BTW, since you live so far away near the forest, we should tell you that there are traps nearby your home," Max quickly put in.

Barry arched an eyebrow, as he answered, "Uh no, we haven't."

"Well, best to know now than later get trapped upside down, or fall in a pit and not get help," Max grinned, trying to make the moment seem more pleasant.

Barry nodded, "Noted."

The three friends were silent for a moment, and then Max asked, "So.. wanna hang out or just head home?"

"There's a Drive in Burger joint and Amper Theater in town," Regina also added in.

"Great!" Barry said, as he lit up at that last part.

Later On

After Burgers

Amper Theater

The trio had gone out of school, and avoided Becky as best they could, as they had made their way to the movie theaters. It was a horror movie being played at the moment, an old fashioned Friday the 13th film. Barry was eating his popcorn, though Max was halfway snoozing. It seemed the fellah was pushing it a bit and was almost conked out. Though Regina seemed to slowly take advantage of it, as she seemed to try and move her hand to Max's. Barry seemed to deduce that Regina... might have had a crush on Max, and he was oblivious to it. Regina noticed Barry looking, and then turned back to the screen, blushing as she did.

'Yep, she has a crush on him,' Barry thought to himself, smirking.

Later the movie ended as they are seen leaving.

Max was wide awake while Regi ribbed him on falling half asleep on some of the scenes. Though she joked to the boys about how awake they were during the scenes when the girls were naked, stating they were real pervs

The trio was a bit confused on this, until Barry noticed a citizen and asked, "Hey, what's going on?"

"Town gathering son, about the recent animal attacks."

"What," Barry asked, getting the duo's attention on this.

They then follow the man to the town gathering .

The townsfolk were gathered in the Main Hall, where the mayor, a bloated Caucasian of a man, stumbled to the podium, as he began, "Everyone. I've gathered you all here today... because of the animal attacks increase on our community."

"No shit! My goats were torn to pieces!"

"The smell of Pee was on my property," another shouted. "My dogs are scared crazy," another stated. "The question is what are you doing about it," one of the women shouted. "Will someone please think of the children," a hysterical woman screamed and fainted. "Well, rest assured everyone, we have gone and come up with a solution," the mayor stated as he explained. "For the past few weeks, we have been reaching out to find eccentric hunters to find and exterminate the menace plaguing our town."

"But what about all those traps that never worked! I even used wild boar as bait, but they took it without springing the trap!"

"That's why we sent out to hire professionals. From what I've read on their dossiers from bounty hunting to former government officials, they're the best," the mayor assured them all. He then seemed pretty cool about it, "I mean, they wouldn't be the worst because they're bad at it. They're the worst because they're bad to the bone on taking down their targets."

"And how will we know if they can succeed in this?"

"Because I asked them, and they said they won't give up until the beast is dead," the mayor assured them once again. "And to top it off, anyone who is lucky would receive the bounty of 100,000 dollars."

Everyone was stunned to hear that last part. Even the three teens present in the back that heard it.

'$100,000 dollars?!' They all thought in total shock.

Outside

The teens all talked to one another, as Max said, "Is he being serious?" "If he is, I'm glad we set up traps beforehand," Regi smiled.

"And to think all of this, for a single animal."

Regina then beamed, as she said, "Or a werewolf."

Max asked, "You're still convinced this is a werewolf then?"

"Oh definitely," Regina beamed.

Barry shook his head and said to her, "Keep telling yourself that."

"Okay then, Barry. Prove me wrong," Regina dared. "Let's see if you can catch this thing and prove it's not a werewolf."

Barry looked like he was willing to take that dare. He put his hands on his hips and said, "Maybe I will. But hope to proving your wrong when I do see one."

Max then asked, "Regina, this isn't gonna be one of those bets you'll be forced to lose in, is it?"

"Nope. Because I know I'm right," Regina said, not backing down in her belief.

Barry shrugged, "Well whatever floats your boat, but I guess if you don't catch it and proves to be a myth, then you'll be rewarded with my sympathy."

Later On

Martinez Residence

Hugo Martinez was reading a paper in the living room next to the fireplace. Well, sleeping in his chair was more accurate, as the newspaper had put him to sleep at the moment.

Then Barry was in his room, laying down with his eyes open. Then he turns his head to look out the window and see the forest ahead.

He sat up and thought on it, as he got up, and walked to the garage. There, he was setting up traps he looked up online to ensare wolves.

'I just hope I know what I'm doing', he thought as he began placing traps all around, but unbeknownst to him, he is being watched by the same glowing eyes in the woods.

Next Chapter: Meeting of a Girl… and a Wolf

Btw, this is what Barry's dad says:
"Ain't she a beauty."
