"Why aren't we going on any more adventures?" asked Peter.
"Because we have other important things and the exams are around the corner and we can't risk getting injured and the most important thing, I have asked my sources to lay low for now," replied James.
"So, they all have their origins in Ireland?" asked Sirius to change the topic.
"Yes, only Shamrock has a branch for the studies of spirits and people who have powers related to spirits," said Remus.
"I didn't get what it meant by spirits as his nanny?" asked Peter scratching his head.
"See, there are spirits of everything, they're living for hundreds of years away from humans but from time to time if someone comes across them then sometimes not always, the spirits gift them for their good deeds towards the spirit," explained James.
"Their children then have the same extra magical abilities but those abilities rely on their source. As, the forest is for the Lignums," added Remus.
"By the way, Wormtail, Clara seems to have a special interest in you," James sniggered followed by the two.
Peter's cheeks turned red. "Why'd be she interested in me? I am not handsome and talented at all."
"Exactly and she is just like you," commented Sirius. "I mean I was there and she just scowled at me."
"Because you winked at her," pointed out Remus.
"And must have found out you're a show-off, dog," snorted James.
"Still better than a rat," Sirius stuck out his tongue at them.
"Maybe she is not a dog person and a rat person," said Remus.
"She is allergic to dogs," snorted Peter. "The twins were giggling when we were leaving."
"So, you find her attractive?" asked James.
"Maybe... yeah...let's see what happens," shrugged Peter.
"So, you think they'll help?" asked Remus. "With whatever you talked to all those men in privately."
James nodded, "Yeah, they agreed after loads of persuasion, and they also said they will bring more help too."
"Why you sent us away?" asked Sirius angrily. "We're your friends."
"One day, I hope I will live to be able to tell you," sighed James.
"But you'll tell, Lily, won't you?" asked Sirius.
James shook his head sadly. "No, I will tell you only what you all know, no more and you all are not allowed to talk about it."
They walked in silence, passed Hagrid's Hut from where loud snoring was coming.
"The unicorn in their gardens was a sight, it looked as if they were at home too," said Peter dreamily and the boys agreed.
"After all, they're more connected to the wild than us," said Remus.
"So, guys, do you think I should. . . um. . . take my relationship with Lily a step forward?" asked James blushing. Sirius snorted at his friend.
"What do you mean?" asked Peter as they sneak into the castle.
"See, our school is coming to an end and we're all leaving. I am sure I want to be with her, I was thinking of proposing to her and then marrying her," James' heartbeat increased automatically as images of her walking down in a white dress came to his mind and then something else came to his mind too and fear overtook him. His last experience at marriage was his worst experience.
"Though you're young, I think you should go for it," said Sirius. Peter nodded but Remus remained silent, every time he sees how James' relationship was with Lily he felt shame that he wasn't trying enough with Mary.
"But there's one problem," James grimaced.
"What?"
"I don't think, I will survive this war for much longer," James fidgeted. "I don't want to put this burden on Lily."
A pain rose in his heart and he began feeling sick, he wanted Lily, she has been his light and backbone in this dark time but he was afraid he would get her killed with his foolishness.
"Remember what happened on the last day of the sixth year when she was shouting at you for thinking the same thing? James, you we should not stop living just because of war and you're not going to die, I will die before they even touch you," Sirius said seriously and James gave him a sad smile.
"She said she wanted to live each day of her life to the fullest and not care of war, she is ready to die fighting at any moment," James told them. "But, I am not ready to let her die."
"Do you want to be with her, forever?" asked Peter.
"Of course, I want, stupid," James said running his hands through his hair.
"Then that's settled, go for it," said Peter.
"But. . ."
"Look, mate if this is due to the war that you're feeling then it's stupid. Talk to some elder they'll guide you and advise you better than us," said Remus. "And as far as I know Lily, she is a fighter herself."
James nodded.
"Don't stop living mate, we're Marauders, we are the life of the party," said Sirius loudly.
"You're right. I have other plans too but for that, I will talk to some elders, I wish mum was here," James sighed. She has the best advice on these things. He remembered Uncle Ben getting nervous before the wedding and how she has scolded him and made him ready. A smile appeared on his face at that memory.
They all turned a corner. "So, what are your plans and when are you going to propose to her?"
"Well," James grinned widely. "I am going to propose to her soon and I need all of your help to do so."
"Marauders at your service, sir," Sirius imitated bowing with a fake hat.
"So . . . the plan is that..."
Severus Snape who was gleefully going to catch the marauders out after curfew was frozen at his spot when he heard James talking about proposing to his Lily.
James and they came face-to-face with Snape, and they all stopped as Snape sneered at them.
"Snivellus, out of bed at night," sneered back Sirius.
"Snivellus is on duty tonight," smiled James. "Where is your partner Merula?"
"She is patrolling another floor," Snape's lips twitched. "Head Boy out of bed with his cronies, detention all four of you with Filch."
James smiled, "You can't give us detentions."
"You may be Head Boy, Potter but your arrogance and wealth will not prevent you from getting detention, even you can't escape from the rule. How nice it'll be to have you four scrun toilet floors, you will clean our shits. We may throw some sickles at your poor disowned friends."
"Oh! but I don't think I will get detention, and neither will my friends," James sneered. "You see, we've approval from the headmaster himself." James turned to Sirius, "I can't wait to get away from greasy hairs, they make me vomit."
"Same here," laughed Sirius.
"See you later, Snape," said James began walking past him. "Nope, I don't want to see a grave, slimy git."
"So, why not at the last quidditch match?" asked Sirius.
"I want to propose to her somewhere which means a lot to us," James replied. "Argh! What the fuck." A blue ray of light passed just above James' head and touched his hair.
"Snivellus wants a duel, I see," James took out his wand while rubbing his head.
Then they began duelling.
"An arrogant like you doesn't deserve her, she 'll never marry a bully like you," snarled Snape.
"Stay the hell out of my life," snapped James.
A pair of footsteps approached them and the deputy headmistress appeared, after scolding them she gave detention to all.
"NO!" James sat bolt upright in his bed, sweating and panting, another bad memory he was forced to see.
"Mate don't worry she'll say 'yes' when you'll ask her," came the voice of Sirius. "Let's go, today is a special day, we'll be signing up for future jobs and careers."
"Yeah, yeah," James let out a half laugh. "Go on, I will join you all."
James opened his trunk and took out the photo of four people and one child, waving happily at him.
"You'll burn the others around you," a voice said in his mind.
"Nope, I will save them all, I will die but never let that git touch my friends, my family," James replied as kissed the photo. "I will." James smiled at his family. "I have the blessings of my family. I will not let their killer walk freely."
James reached the Great Hall, it has changed, there were no house tables instead chairs and small study desks were put there. The sunlight entered the hall through the glass windows, this half empty, silent(more silent than ever before), he liked it like this.
He saw that only the seventh years and the heads of the houses along with the Headmaster and two wizards holding big bundles of parchments. James walked to the side where the Gryffindors were sitting and sat beside Lily who gave him a smile that made all the worries and sadness disappeared.
"Now, your N.E.W.T.s. are beginning from Monday. Before you all sit for exams, you are required to submit your applications for your future careers and jobs and then if you meet the requirements then you'll be offered jobs," McGonagall told them.
"Mr Goldstein and Mr Corner, here will guide you and answer all your queries, you'll submit the forms of your desired jobs and academies and submit them to your head of houses," said Dumbledore. Mr Corner liked his wand and applications appeared on each table for students to read and fill it.
James looked around as everyone began reading the pamphlets and then began filling out the application form. James looked at the other side of the room and to his shock the Slytherins, even the death eaters were filling the forms. Snape's nose was touching the pamplets as he read them and filled them. He chuckled, so Voldemort doesn't pays that well.
He looked at his friends, all were busy filling the forms and reading the pamphlets, Peter was the most nervous one and was filling every form and so was a grimaced Remus, James' heart sank as he realized the discrimination against the werewolves. Sirius and Marls had frown lines too as they read the pamphlets. He then saw Mary, the most relaxed person as she read the pamphlets, she already has gotten into the training and was not much worried but she was then also filling it so as to be safe as muggleborns are facing problems in getting jobs too.
Lily was filling out the Aurors application, he sighed and began reading the pamphlets on his own desk. He yawned as he got bored and without thinking his head rested on Lily's shoulder, she went rigid for a moment and looked around, everyone was busy with their own work and the elders were all sitting together, she sighed and began filling her forms again.
James' focus jumped from his pamphlets and what Lily was writing.
"James, at least fill out the forms," she spoke as he picked up another pamphlet about a job at The European Confederation of Magic.
"I am not interested in any," he replied. To his disappointment all his friends heard him and turned to look at him with shock, he sat straight.
"Not even Aurors Training Program?" asked Marls, James shook his head. "But it's your dream."
"I know," shrugged James replied as all his friends began questioning him.
"Is there a problem?" asked Minnie appearing at his table. "Why are you all causing disturbance?"
"Professor, James is not filling any forms," pointed out Sirius at James' desk, who scowled.
"What is this Potter?" asked McGonagall bewildered. "Last time I heard you were head over heels for becoming an Auror."
"It is not my priority now, Professor. Times have changed and I have changed," shrugged James.
An undetectable smile appeared on the professor's face. "I have seen that but you should fill out the forms at least."
"But I don't want to I want to fight. Now. I want to . . . "
"I know James, I heard you for the first time but I still want you to fill out the form, it's my order and request and Dumbledore wants that too," said the professor and left.
James shrugged and began searching for the Aurors Training Pamphlet but failed to find it, he scowled as he looked around on the floor for the pamphlet.
"Here, I have filled it for you," said Lily handing him the form. James looked at her in shock, she was looking down and biting her lips. "Sorry, I knew you wouldn't but it's not like that we've to join now, we will join it later."
"What do we mean by we?" asked James shocked.
"I am not joining either, James, not for now at least, I will be by your side, fighting. Mum and dad have left me some money and I still have half rights on my parent's house, so, I will fight," she was fidgeting her hands. "I am sorry but I wanted you to fill the form too and join me when I join."
She looked up at him, thinking that he might be angry but instead he kissed her passionately with love. "I love you."
Lily grinned, "Love you more."
"There will be no need for public display of affection," said McGonagall though a smile was lingering on her lips.
Snape gagged as hatred and jealousy rose in him, he watched the pair giggling together, he saw the way Lily was looking at Potter every now and then, he has only seen that look on her face, the brightness in her eyes only for Potter. She'd say 'yes', he knew it. If Potter was to ask her now, she'd say 'yes' it was clear.
He felt sad, he wanted her, and he knew he was never going to get over her. He wanted her, she should be his. How can't she see how much he loved her and not Potter? He has to ask her why Potter and not him.
The seventh years were now all consumed by preparing for N.E.W.T.s. , teachers were giving revisions of important topics and James found himself just like in his fifth year, studying with Lily except this time instead of seating opposite to each other and keeping his distance so as not to make the situation awkward, this time they both were studying much closely, their favourite spot was the tree by the lake. James would sit with his back against the tree while Lily would rest her head on his lap and vice-versa.
Lily knew that she should be focused on her exams but as each minute passed, panic made its way into her chest, she was worried about where she'll live after graduating, she didn't wanted to live in her parents' house alone, she wanted to ask James to live with him but she wasn't able to talk about it to him out of embarrassment.
To her disappointment, James hasn't talked about it at all and has brushed off the topic whenever it was brought up by someone.
"Any problem, dear?" asked James stroking her cheeks. "You are not focused on the notes."
Lily sighed and rested against his chest, "Sorry, got lost about the future."
"You don't have to worry, I am and I will be with you. So, focus on the exams and leave the worries of the future to the future," James comforted her. "Now, tell me about Essence of Insanity."
Lily smiled, James will be with her, no matter what. She relaxed and began teaching him about the potion.
After they were done, James decided to confess his own worries. "Lily, I wanted to ask you something."
"I knew I explained the definition in difficult language, I will explain again, okay?"
"It's not that, Lils, I have been thinking about future too. I want to spend my each moment with you but I want to fight and I don't want you to get hurt because of me."
"We have been over this, James, I am fighting no matter what, and I would like to have you by my side when I die,"
James buried his face in her hairs, "I will not let anyone hurt you."
"And I will protect you, no matter what," she told him as his grip tightened around her waist. "To be honest, I am little worried about future, you see, I want to go at my parent's house to collect my things but I don't think I can live there now."
"Same here," he said removing the hairs from her shoulder to other side and rested his forehead in the crook of her neck, while her hands came up to play with his hair and give his head a light message.
"Wish they were here," sighed Lily. "I find my focus lost in these things each passing day, and not able to study in all these worries, even though we still have a month left here."
James decided it was the time, if Lily was getting worried then he needs to help her. "Did you read about the attack at Order's Headquarter in the Prophet today?"
"Yeah, I read it, the entire building was blown, luckily they all escaped before the attack," Lily sighed sadly.
"I was thinking of giving the Manor to the Order, what do you say?" asked James.
"That's great, James but where will you live then? In the Order's headquarter?" Lily turned to look at him.
"I am not worried about it, I have got that covered," James assured her. She thought he might live with the Marauders in Sirius' house. "So, you think it's good to give the house to Order?" Lily nodded. "Excellent! I just needed your approval to go and offer it to Dumbledore." He kissed her cheek.
"My approval, why? James, it's your house, you don't need anyone's approval and beside you're doing a great work," Lily told him.
"I know, but still," James grinned. "Hey! how about a date tonight? ... You know to get our minds off the exams and other things and relax so that we can study hard tomorrow for the D.A.D.A. exam day after tomorrow?"
Lily thought about it, she needed to revise but since she was not able to focus properly she agreed to go with him.
"Excellent! wear something beautiful, though everything and nothing looks great on you too," smirked James and Lily hit his hands laughing. "So, um, meet me in common room at 6."
"Where'll we go? Hogsmeade?"
"Will tell you later," he kissed her cheeks. "I am going to meet Dumbledore, he is in his office."
And then he was gone in a flash, Lily smiled as she watched him run up to the castle.
He has read the news in morning and his head has jerked towards the staff table to find an ashened face McGonagall, the headmaster was not there. The Daily Prophet's front page about the death eater's attack on The secret headquarter of Order Of The Phoenix in Manchester has shooken the teachers as well as the students.
As soon as he knocked on the office's door and entered he saw the tired and grim looking old man, examining his black injured hand. "Hello, James."
"Sir, I heard about the attack, what happened?" asked James not knowing if he has the right to ask the question or not.
"Someone at the ministry betrayed us and gave the location of the headquarters, I was foolish as I thought that The Fidelius Charm was not necessary as I put trust on the ministry provided protection and protections placed by me but I made a mistake, I should have gone with Fidelius Charm. I though that it'll be a lot of work to show each member the location each time but that laziness resulted in me losing the headquarter, though my protection still held at the place and no one died, though a few members are injured."
James nodded, "So, have you found another headquarter yet?"
Dumbledore shook his head, "The search is going on, we're looking for more secured location this time to prevent any future misshaps."
"Sir, I may have a suggestion if you like,"
"What suggestion, James?" asked Dumbledore looking up at him curiously.
"Sir, The Potter Manor is open for your use, it'd be an honor to have the Order's headquarter there. Mum, dad and Uncle Ben would have done the same thing," said James. "And sir I don't think I will able to live in that house again without my parents, it's too big for me."
"I appreciate your offer, James and I am glad you that you suggested it, it'll be a prefect place," beamed Dumbledore. "Though, may I ask where you'll live then?"
"I've got inherited other buildings from my ancestors but I have brought a house, a cottage already, so I will be living there, though I have kept it us a secret as of now."
Dumbledore chuckled. "I see what you are thinking."
"So, sir you agree to use The Potter's Manor?" asked James and Dumbledore nodded.
"Though I would ask you to not tell others,"
"Sure sir," James promised. "Sir, I have one more question, I am feeling quite nervous about it and needed your approval for it as you're the elder figure I have, my aunt has approved but I needed your advice too and help too."
Dumbledore's eyes filled with tears, "I am feeling so proud that you see me as your guardian." James just smiled at the old man.
"Mary! Enough with the hair and makeup, it's not like I am going on my first date with James that you're working on my looks so much," Lily rolled her eyes. "Don't you have to study?"
"I have to but this is the thing I should be doing now," said Mary.
"She's right, shut up, Lily, and let us help you," grinned Marls.
"You both are acting odd, are you drunk?" inquired Lily.
"Shut up! and go," Marls has to put in loads of effort to prevent herself from smiling widely.
When Lily reached at the foot of staircase, she found James, properly and handsomely dressed, his hair oddly done, she had a suspection that it was Sirius' work.
"Hey!" grinned James. "You look beautiful in this green dress."
Lily blushed as she reached to him and mirrored his smile, "You look handsome." James took out a blindfold. "What's this?"
"Just let me tie it," said James and Lily nodded. James led her while holding her close to him, she felt as if they were going round and round but then they stopped. "Let me remove it."
As soon as Lily opened her eyes, and took in the view in front of her, her jaw dropped open as she saw the beautiful scene. They were on the Gryffindor's tower balcony, the secret balcony only she and James knew about it was their balcony. In the middle was a beautiful circular table with a flower vase with yellow Peruvian lilies and roses was there along with candles, there were two chairs placed such that they were facing the lake and the Forbidden Forest.
Then Lily looked around, there were dozens and dozens of candles on the balcony with beautiful flowers and plants. James hand closed around her from behind.
"It's beautiful, James," she gasped.
"Look forward, beyond the lake," James pointed at the forest with his wandm he gave his wand a slight flick and a blue jet of light shot into the forest, and then what happened shocked Lily even more.
"Unbelievable," Lily gasped. "James, I have no words to describe it, it's magnificent, fascinating and very beautiful."
A big image of a stag and a doe was formed over the forest through silverblue lights.
James kissed her cheeks. "I am glad you liked it."
"Loved it," she replied turning to look at him.
Once they were seated, James summoned the plates of food from the corner on which he has placed a heating charm to keep it warm.
"Want some music?" asked James and Lily nodded. Another flick and a low soft music began playing in the background.
This was the best date she had been on, sure their first date was the special one, full of adventures and fun but this was just different, James has gone extra step to make everything perfect.
"You remember our first dateJames on Boxing day? When you took me to the London Dungeons and then to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and had lots of rides? " Lily asked.
"How can I forget that," grinned James.
"That was and I think still is the best date till now but the effort you have put in this date is just mind-blowing, I love it."
"Well, then be ready, as there is more to come," he grinned and from under the table he shook the mirror in his pocket and whispered 'SIRIUS.' "Look into the sky."
And then there were fireworks, the light show against the night sky was dazzling. Lily gasped as she realixed that as soon as the fireworks reached to sky and exploded, they formed shapes, they were forming images, images of her and their friends, the images would form and then fade within ten to fifteen seconds.
She was lost into the light show so much that she didn't noticed James standing up and pulling her up with him, she didn't noticed as with another flick and the table and the chairs were gone.
"Did you liked it?" James asked.
"Yes, it's. . .I have no words to describe it," she said as she saw a firecracker forming an image of the lunch she had with him and his family, then there was another image this time of James and Lily, surrounded by a stag and a doe.
She smiled as she saw the next firework which formed words with sparkling golden lights and stayed in the sky. It read:
LILY EVANS, I LOVE YOU.
She turned to James who has taken her hands in his and was looking down at her with love and a bit nervousness.
"Lily, you are my everything, I have been a stupid, bullying, arrogant toerag, I have been a douche when I met you. We didn't got a good start and had our ups and downs, well initially we were down only but then also you saw the goodness in me, you saw it even before me. We were more of rivalries than friends but you cared for me, you cared for others too, that's what made me fall for you, you're kind, gentle, caring, understanding and you selflessly help everyone. You didn't turned your back on Remus, instead you accepted him for what he was, and that I began liking you deeply. You are brave, tough, and strong, you stand for what's right no matter how bad the consequences are, you're never afraid of darkness, you're fearless.
You played an important role in making me realize, what I was doing wrong and that I need to change and be more serious. There were other things, like my Uncle's death that hit me hard and opened my eyes to outer world but it was you Lily who helped me change, you helped me become a better person. Your gentle and kind nature rubbed off on me. I can never understand how a girl can be as gentle as you and at the same time as strong and fierce as you, but here you are, and I love each of your qualities through fibre of me, and my soul."
He then kissed her forehead. "We have memories at many places all over the castle but I chose this place, because this is the place where I fell in love with you, I liked you true, but it wasn't love, it was here at this place that I realized that I love you. This is the place where we came for the first time together and you said you believe that I can change and be better person, this is the place where you said that you see goodness in me. It was the worst day of my life and I thought I lost you before even getting you, I prayed to God, Merlin, Godric and what not when I approached you after that foolish stupid act. We came here and then everything changed.
It was here that we used to sneak in to hide our relationship from others, it was here that you gave me the kiss before the quidditch match, this place holds a special spot in my heart. You Lily hold a special spot in my heart."
Then another firecracker went off with a whoosh, and James signaled Lily to look at it. Lily whose gaze was fixed on the hazel and nothing else looked at the sky again and gasped as she read what was written below the previous message.
LILY, WILL YOU MARRY ME?
She turned to see James who was on one knee holding a small purple box open with a beautiful diamond ring in it, the diamond was not that big and the ring was simple yet beautifu.
Green met Hazel.
"Lily, I have never been completely sure of anything before but I am completely sure of one thing, and that is that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I can't imagine a life without you. I know there's a war going on and I know we are still eighteen, well you eighteen and half nearly but I am sure and confident that I want to be with you, I want to see you first thing in morning, it makes my day. I want to marry you, Lily.
I can't describe in words how much you mean to me, you're my sunshine on a cloudy day, you're the melody to my song. We have came from housemates to rivalries to friends to duel champions to best friends to dates to girlfriend boyfriend to lovers and now I want us to be life-partners. So, Lily Evans . . ."
Lily nodded as tears fell from her eyes.
". . will you marry me?"
"YES!" said Lily excitedly and crying as James put the ring in her fingers. She jumped onto him and they kissed passionately.
They both ignored the muffled sound coming from the mirror in James' pocket.
"SHE SAID YES", "SHE SAID YES", "SHE SAID YES",
"Sirius quiet."
And then there was another bang as another firecracker went up in air and wrote third line in the sky.
YES! SHE SAID YES!
Another bang and the fourth line.
JAMES LILY JAMES
"I didn't said for that," laughed James holding Lily in a tight embrace, as they saw the words in the sky. Lily laughed as she sobbed. "Why are you crying?"
"I am crying out of happiness, you dork," said Lily hugging him tightly.
"And here I thought, you were done with calling me names," James sighed and Lily laughed as she pulled him into a kiss.
"That is never stopping, Potter," grinned Lily.
"I hope not, soon-to-be-POTTER," James and Lily laughed. "Though I like Lily Potter but I will never stop calling you, Evans, Evans."
"I hope not," she smiled.
There was another bang and another firecracker went off as another line appeared.
CONGRATULATIONS! TO MR. & MRS. PRONGS
FROM MESSRS. MOONY, WORMTAIL & PADFOOT.
"You used the mirror you and Sirius have to communicate without me knowing, right?" asked Lily grinning and James nodded.
Lily pointed her wand in the sky and another line appeared.
MR. & MRS. PRONGS THANKS YOU ALL!
James laughed at this and leaned in to capture her lips with his.
"Can they see us snogging?" asked Lily.
"No, the tower provides protection and privacy, if I were to jump from here then also nothing will happen to me," James told her.
"Yeah, now I remember Mary talking about it from Hog. . "
"Hogwarts: A history, I know, but through Remus," James completed her sentence.
"Let's dance then, please," pleaded Lily and James grinned.
"I just have the song for the moment, I guess,"
The music began and Lily smiled. "Happy Together by The Turtles, great choice."
Me and you, and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together
"James, I love you."
I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby, the skies'll be blu,
For all my life
"I love you too, Lily."
So happy together
And how is the weather?
So happy together
We're happy together
So happy together
Happy together
So happy together
So happy together
"We' ll be happy together, until the very end," said Lily.
"Until the very end," smiled James.
They were dancing slowly on the spot holding on to each other as a slow music played.
"Lily, you were worried about where you'll live now as you can't live in your parent's house now that they're dead. Well, I have a solution, you will live with me."
"But you said that you have given the manor to The Order to use as Headquarters after their old one was destroyed," said Lily confused.
James smiled. "I know, and I will not be able to live there, it will make me sad, I can't live with my parents, umcle and aunt gone."
"I can understand."
"Well, I have gotten us a house, a cottage to be precise, and I will take you there now, I have gotten permission from Dumbledore," said James taking out a pen cap. "Hold it, it'll activate soon."
Lily took hold of it and soon they were standing on the ground again, Lily felt James' arms over her eyes. "Ready?" Lily nodded excitedly.
It was night but James' has produced many fake lights and now the house was clearly visible. She saw that the house in front of her and then she realized she has seen it before.
"Is it the house that we . . . are we in Godric's Hollow?" Lily gasped turning to James, who nodded. "You remembered this house? We weren't even dating then when we came across this house."
"Well, I remember that we both agreed that it was a perfect house, and that we didn't wanted a big house, so I brought this last summer," James told her. "My ancestor left another house in Glasgow but I sold it and brought this from the money."
"It's perfect," Lily launched herself on him.
"Let's go inside and see," grinned Jamed and allowed Lily to lead in.
"I asked my friends to set up a potions room in the basement for you," he showed her the basement.
All in all the house was fabulous from inside, James was more excited the open space in backyard to play quidditch, and Lily was excited about the master bedroom, it was a mixture of her room and James' room, she was happy to have space for gardening in front yard.
"I can't wait to live here," she said jumping from the bed into James' arms who laughed as he caught her, he was happiest man in the world today, he was happy because she said 'yes' and the fact that she was so excited to see this medium old house was a relief for him and happiest thing.
"Me neither," he replied kissing her. "But for now, let's go back or Dumbledore will kill me, it took a lot of persuading to do this."
