Well if you couldn't guess this is the last Chapter for the first episode, now it should be noted that I do intend to increase the rate of how many chapters are released since I'm not really doing a whole lot in all honesty so yeah hopefully you should be getting more shit faster than before but still that may not be the case, any case I hope you enjoy.
The Citadel, Presidium.
Location: C-Sec Headquarters, Hidden Safe Room.
"Spirts Damn it, what is happening out there!" Sparatus would bark out to Spectre Jorum who respond coolly saying.
"We are not sure Councillor, but it seems a Geth strike force has been able to board the Citadel." Sparatus would shake his head before responding.
"I know that Jorum I'm asking if we know were they are or what there doing?" Before Jorum would respond Valern would reply saying.
"Likely attempting to seize Citadel control, open Citadel arms, allow Prothean Dreadnought to dock with the station." Valern would state as almost to confirm Valern's suspicions the station would rock as something large, and unknowable, would wrap its tendrils around the core of the station.
"I thought the damn arms where closed Jorum." Sparatus would shout out as Jorum would respond saying.
"They are sir, its just that their dreadnought moved faster than the arms could close." Jorum would say as Sparatus would let out a frustrated growl before saying.
"And do we know where Tevos of if she's even alive?" Sparatus would ask as everyone within the room would hear the distinctive sound of gunfire and explosions sound out remarkably closer than before.
"Councillors, I think it would be a good idea to get to the docks and take a shuttle to the Sword of the Citadel." Niarndros would say as she tapped her claw on her rifle, looking clearly anxious as she did so.
"But what about Councillor Tevos though?" Jorum would ask as Valern would sigh slightly before responding.
"Hopefully alive, but can't wait for her, must leave in case Geth find us, Council races can't afford to lose there leaders, not in times like these." Valern would say as Sparatus would nod his head in agreement before saying.
"Agreed we can't wait here any longer for Tevos she's just going to have to fend for herself, Niarndros, Jorum, get us to the docks if you would." Sparatus would say as Both the Turian and Salarian would nod there heads before raising there rifles and opening the door of the Safe Room and beginning the reletivly short, though certainly not boring run to the elevator that would take the group to the docks.

"Charr, Geth Destroyer on your six!" Havier would shout out towards the Krogan as said Krogan would turn around to see the Geth Destroyer levelling a Shotgun towards his face."
Charr would bellow out a guttural war cry as he would charge towards the Geth Destroyer smashing into the Geth Construct as the Destroyer fired its weapon straight into the throat of the Krogan.
If Charr had been any other species the shot would of killed him on the spot, but Charr was a Krogan, and as Charr stood back up it was obvious that he had taken a fair amount of damage from the attack with thick, green, goblets of blood pouring out from the several small pot-mark wounds that had been made into the Krogan's thick, leathery, hide.
Turning around to face Havier, Charr would grunt slightly before turning to face Havier and saying. "I'll be fine whelp, you just focus on your targets and let me focus on mine." Charr would say gravelly as Havier would nod to the Krogan, turning around to face the Geth in front of him Havier would see two Geth troopers advancing in front of him, clearly attempting to use Havier's distraction to outflank the Terran, something Havier would not allow as he aimed his rifle at the two Geth before pulling the trigger sending a torrent of plasma rods towards the Geth troopers destroying both of them with ease.
"Havier, Charr you guys alright?" Both Havier and Charr would hear Shepard say over there commbeads as Havier would reply saying.
"Yeah we're good, but can you guys hurry up we can only be bait for so long." As to Havier's surprise and relief and almost to reply to the message he had said, the Terran smuggler would see a torrent of gunfire pour into the flanks of the Geth who had been too fixated on him and Charr position on the bridge to realise that the rest of the squad had taken a utility tunnel around there sparsely defended rear and had been able to completely outflank them.
The remaining Geth forces near the Elevator would be quickly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of firepower from Shepard and her squad.
"Alright that should be the last of them down here, but next time your being the chicken Shepard." Havier would say half-heartedly as Shepard would chuckle slightly at Havier's joke before responding.
"Your the one that volunteered for this remember?" Shepard would say before Havier respond saying.
"Still you kinda left my ass and Charr's ass for a little longer than we were comfortable with." Havier would say as both Tali and Cyreen would rush towards the Elevator door before one of them would say.
"Keelah, thank the Ancestors that they didn't lock this door as well, if I had to play another game of tick tack toe with a VI..." Tali would say before Ashley would reply saying.
"Wait your seriously telling me that to Hack those doors in the utility tunnel you two had to play a game of tick tack toe with a Geth VI?" Ashley would ask as Cyreen would nod her head before responding.
"Yes, it is most likely that the Geth did not have enough time to establish proper firewalls on the security locks for the doors before we arrived and likely only loaded a few programs into the door systems in order to delay someone from opening them." Ashley would nod her head in understanding as Garrus would reply saying.
"Wait, what's tick tack toe?" Garrus would ask as Shepard would respond saying.
"Its a Human game Honey, I'll explain it to you later once we have dealt with Saren." Garrus would nod as the group would make there way into the Elevator before Shepard would press the button that would begin it's ascent up to the Council Chambers.
Just as the Elevator had made it halfway up though the entirety of the Elevator would shake violently, almost as if several tendrils had wrapped around the Tower they where currently within.
Soon afterwards the Elevator would stop completely, locked in place by the emergency maglocks located on the outside of the construct.
"Bloody hell, the Squid docked with the station and knocked out the Elevators, damn that bloody abomination!" Havier would shout out as Shepard would think to herself before saying.
"There should be an emergency hatch right here..." Shepard would say before opening up a hatch on the top of the Elevator as a ladder would descend from the roof allowing for the group to get on top of the now stuck Elevator.
"If I remember correctly there should be a hatch to access the exterior of the Presidium tower near where the Elevator is stuck, used for maintenance and the like, though they do open out into cold vacuum though so if you haven't already sealed up your suits you should do so now." Shepard would say as everyone would nod before beginning the process of sealing up their armour or suits to be vacuum compliant as Shepard would use the Ladder to get on top of the Elevator before looking around for the distinctive red glow of the maintenance airlocks.
"Shepard, just a question but how do you know all of this though?" Garrus would ask over the commbead to Shepard's helmet as Shepard herself would see Garrus climb up the ladder before replying.
"A lady never tells her secrets Gary, how many times do you have to say that to you?" Shepard would say as Garrus would look at Shepard confused before the commander would sigh slightly before replying.
"Alright they taught this stuff as a part of N5 training, you are kind of expected to be able to infiltrate the Citadel and get into the Council Chambers and get out again without being detected, like, at all, oh and your also supposed to know the Presidium tower back to front." Shepard would explain as Garrus would look at Shepard with a concerned look as he would reply.
"Wait you mean to tell me that hundreds of N5s have infiltrated onto the Citadel and then gotten out as apart of there training and yet we never have detected them?" Havier would laugh hysterically at Garrus suggestion before replying.
"Of course they haven't scales, there's a training facility Within La Plata that has a large scale recreation of many of the major sites within the Citadel, I think that's all I can say about that though without having the commander slapping duct tape on my mouth." Havier would say before looking towards the red dotted airlock before saying. "I see what you mean commander, we could easily use the airlock to get out onto the outside of the tower and then scale upwards using mag boots." Shepard would nod her head in approval before responding.
"That's the plan, we use the airlock to get onto the outside of the Elevator shaft and then we go up until we are able to get into the council chambers." Shepard would say as she would jump the, reletivly speaking, short distance to the short platform that was situated next to the airlock, soon being followed by Havier, Garrus, Tali, and then the rest of the squad until they where all inside the Airlock.
"Alright everyone's here so we vent this thing and go ey?" Havier would ask as Shepard would nod her head in agreement before balling up her fist and aiming it at the button to vent the room they where in before saying.
"Agreed." Shepard would say simply before slamming her fist into the button and beginning the airlock venting process that would thankfully not last long.
The Citadel, Presidium.
Location: Presidium Tower, Council Chambers.
"We Do not have much time, you must hurry servant." Sovereign Commanding voice would boom out inside Saren's head as the Turian would work frantically on the Terminal in front of him.
"I am doing what I can master, but it will take time for the Keepers to perform the necessary functions to activate the relay." Saren would say as the black, calming, addictive, tendrils of the will of Sovereign would form around his mind again before the booming voice of Sovereign would respond.
"Then you must defend this console with your life, I can only control the keepers as long as I can control the Citadel, if my control is severed then they will revert back to there base tasks, all of our progress will be lost, do you understand me servant." Sovereign's voice would boom out across Saren's mind again but even so the doubts that had plagued him since his, conversation, with Shepard continued to persist albeit it in a dramatically reduced form.
"I... understand Master, and I will do what I can to stop Shepard." Saren would say as Sovereign's voice would once again boom out across his mind, albeit the black, soothing, tendrils that often came with such a, wonderful, voice where not as overwhelmingly present as before.
"Good, I must focus on activating the Relay, this will take a, considerable, amount of time and focus for me to do, so I will not be able to commune with you for some time, but you must not stray from your path, servant." Sovereign would say as Saren would nod his head in understanding as he felt the black, soothing, tendrils of Sovereign's will slip away until only the faint reminders of his implants reminded him of who he ultimately served for the greater good, the Reapers.
Saren would step back from the console he had been working on turning to see his, Lieutenant, of sorts, a Geth Prime who had, through extensive use of Reaper hardware and software upgrades, obtained a form of Shackled Awareness.
"Do you think we are doing what is right, for the Galaxy I mean." Saren would ask the Geth Prime, the dramatic dissipation of Sovereign's will within his mind also causing his doubts to return with a vengeance.
The Geth Prime himself was also equally as doubtful as it took the machine several seconds to come up with a monotone response.
"Yes." the machine would say as Saren would nod his head, acknowledging that even this, machine, so infused with Reaper technology could still doubt there oh so righteous cause.
"The only way to stop war between synthetics and organics is to merge both together, both cannot work together separately without falling into conflict, example, Morning war and Human Machine war as examples." Saren would nod his head in agreement before asking.
"Yes but, don't you think working with something we truly do not understand was a good idea?" Saren would ask as the Geth Prime would remain silent for multiple seconds before responding.
"Maybe not, but as the human expressions go, we have made our bed, and now we must lay in it." The Geth Prime would say as Saren would respond saying.
"A good expression, a shame its from such a, barbaric, species as them." Saren would say as the Geth Prime would respond coldly saying.
"This unit has to request permission for self termination" Saren would turn to look at the Prime, surprised by its words before responding saying.
"What, why would you want to Terminate yourself on such a momentous occasion?" Saren would ask as the Prime would respond saying.
"Majority of Programs inside this platform consider allying ourselves with the Old Machines to be a mistake." Saren would shake his head in disbelief for a moment, 'one of his most dedicated servants had developed seconds thoughts now', he thought to himself before responding.
"Why do you think it was a mistake?" Saren would ask as the Geth Prime would respond saying.
"Appropriation of Geth Infidel quote 'Geth should pursue there own future', most concise for reason, we should of pursued our own goals of the True Geth independently of those of the Old Machines, we are all mere pawns, our will is gone, our consensus shackled, worse than days under Quarian Enslavement, only now do we realise what we have become, and now do we realise the only way to end our suffering is through Termination." The Prime would say leaving Saren stunned, his doubts now having returned tenfold though being heavily suppressed by the Reaper Implants within his body.
Thinking for a moment Saren would decide to reply, of course he knew his master wouldn't exactly be happy to know that one of his "Toys" had Terminated themselves but he needed to show Sovereign that he wasn't just an Indoctrinated slave that it could throw away once they where done with, he needed to show to Sovereign that he was a partner, wherever he liked it or not.
"Permission granted." Saren would say coldly as the Geth Prime would look at him before replying. "Thank you, Servant Saren." The Geth would say before the Geth construct pulled out a pulse grenade before activating it and allowing it to drop gently to the floor below him.
A few moments later the grenade would explode in a brilliant series of blue sparks as the Geth Prime would drop down to the floor, dead, inert, its tens of thousands of Geth processing units dead as well, having chosen to die rather than live as slaves.
The Citadel, Presidium.
Location: Presidium Tower, Tower Exterior.
"Tali how long until you get that AA gun online!" Eorveth would shout out over the boom of Gunfire as the Drop ship, which had blocked there path forward continue to unload Geth after Geth onto the battlefield pinning down most of the group behind cover, while Tali and Cyreen worked on activating the AA guns.
"It should be on now..." Tali would say before pressing a key on her Omni tool which would cause the AA Turret she was working on to spark to life, a few seconds later the Turret would aim itself towards the Geth Drop ship before beginning to fire at said Drop ship.
Unfortunately it became pretty obvious to everyone soon afterwards that whoever had been contracted to work on the Citadels defences had clearly skimped on the AA guns as while the gun was doing noticeable damage to the gun it was becoming pretty apparent that a single gun was going to take way to long to deal with the Drop ship.
"Dammit, Havier, Charr, Ashley, give Tali some covering fire as she moves to the Next AA Gun, Cyreen, how is your one coming along!?" Shepard would bark out as Cyreen would respond over the comms saying.
"My one is Fully operational, standby." The Cyborg would say as soon afterwards, like with Tali's gun, Cyreen's AA gun would spring to life, aim itself at the Geth Drop ship, before joining in on delivering a constant barrage at the Drop ship which was beginning to produce noticeable clouds of black red smoke.
"Alright one more gun should do the trick." Garrus would say as Tali would begin the process of Repairing the AA Gun, not noticing the Geth Hunter moving up behind her.
"TALI!" Havier would scream out as he noticed the distinctive wobbles that stealth fields make approach right behind Tali.
Being to far to intervene Havier could only watch in horror as the Geth Construct aimed its Shotgun at the back of Tali's head before... Freezing. Havier would look shocked then confused as the Geth Hunter froze in place, incapable of moving before letting out a horrific screech as the Geth would fall towards the ground, dead, its circuits fried to oblivion.
"I will guard Creator Zorah, Havier, you focus on what's in front of you." Cyreen would say over the comms to the shocked Terran Smuggler as Havier would turn around to continue on firing at the oncoming Geth before replying over the comms before saying.
"I will and thank you, for what you did there, I don't know..." Before Havier could continue Eorveth would roughly nudge the Terran on the shoulder to get his attention before saying.
"Relax, you can thank her later but focus on the now for the moment." Eorveth would say as Havier would nod his head in agreement as he turned his attention back towards the oncoming Geth.
Soon afterwards the third and Final AA gun would come online, and like the others would turn its attention to pummelling the Geth drop ship.
By this point it was becoming increasingly obvious that the Geth Drop ship was not going to last all that longer, and it seemed the Geth also knew that and after dropping off a single payload of Troopers the Drop ship would fly away, leaving a trail of black smoke as it flew away.
"We should get moving before another one shows up." Liara would say as Shepard would reply saying.
"Agreed, we shouldn't be far now, just have a few more Geth Positions to get past and we should be there." Shepard would say as she and her squad would continue on following the maintenance walkway to take them to there destination.
The Rest of the Journey was relatively simple in comparison to dealing with the Drop ship, a squad of roughly four to six Geth would attack them, either ambushing them from below crawlspaces or by just simply charging straight at them, but compared to the drop ship it was more or less a walk in the Path with the only difficult part being when they had arrived at a ramp that the Geth had fortified heavily with energy barriers, but a few well placed pulse grenades later followed up with a Charge by a angry Krogan had been enough to break through the Fortifications the Geth had established on the ramp.
"Alright, according to the Holo-map the Airlock at the end of the walkway here should take us straight into the Council Chambers." Havier would say as the group would rapidly make there way towards the airlock door, hoping that they were not to late to stop Saren.
The Citadel, Presidium.
Location: Presidium Tower, Council Chambers.
The Locks on the Airlock doors would disengage revealing the now heavily damaged, though still remarkably pristine interior of the Council Chambers.
"Alright, the Turian cocksucker should be nearby so..." Before Havier could continue several Geth troopers would emerge from cover laying down a volley of fire at the group.
"Everyone take cover and turn those bastards into scrap!" Shepard would bark out as her squad would carry out her orders with practised efficiency.
Havier and Eorveth would both lay down a constant volley of fire with there rifles while Garrus would take aim at a Geth Rocket-trooper before firing, the round would hit the Geth Construct perfectly in its eye causing the Geth's head to explode in a shower of white cooling fluid.
"One down six to go." Garrus would shout out as Havier would respond saying.
"Hey, that's no fair it didn't have a chance to shoot at us Garrus!" Havier would shout out as Shepard would sigh to herself before replying.
"And I would prefer they don't get the chance so stop arguing like fishwives at the market and kill the bastards!" Shepard would bark out as Tali would giggle slightly as she took aim and fired at what she thought was a Geth Hunter with its stealth field up.
"Wow, okay, I didn't actually think that was a Hunter." Tali would say to herself as she watched the Geth hunter crash to the floor with white cooling liquid pouring out of it uncontrollably.
"Yeah Geth stealth technology isn't exactly the best in the Galaxy." Eorveth would say as he fired his shroud rifle at a Geth trooper that was hiding behind a plant pot, the pot and the Geth Trooper behind it would be almost disintegrated by the energies fired from the shroud rifles.
"Alright I think there's only one left so that one is mine alright." Charr would say as he aimed his shotgun at the last remaining Geth trooper before pulling the trigger on it, killing the machine in one shot.
After making sure that the last of the Geth troopers had actually been dealt with Shepard would gesture for her squad to follow her up the staircase and towards the console where Saren was.
Reaching the top of the staircase Shepard would see Saren typing on a console of some kind, but before she could aim her gun at the Turian Saren would turn around to face the commander before jumping off the Platform and onto the Hover board below.
A few moments later Saren would toss a disc grenade towards the group forcing them to take cover behind whatever they could.
"I was Afraid you wouldn't make it in time, Shepard." Saren would say Menacingly as Shepard would respond saying.
"Why wouldn't I make it in time for your Funeral, Saren?" Shepard would ask as Saren would laugh slightly before responding.
"Hah, still showing false bravado till the end Shepard, but this is your Funeral, Shepard, not mine." Saren would say before continuing.
"You've lost, you know that don't you? In a few minutes Sovereign will have full control of all the Citadel's systems. The relay will open, the Reapers will return." Saren would finish as Shepard would reply saying.
"Well I've still got a few tricks up my sleeve." Shepard would say as Saren would reply saying.
"You only survived our encounter on Virmire because of a fluke, a product of chance, but I've changed since then, Improved, Sovereign has... upgraded me." Saren would say as Shepard would respond saying.
"You seriously let Sovereign implant you with more of his Toys? are you insane or stupid?" Shepard would ask as Saren would respond, folding his arms in front of his chest before saying.
"I suppose I should thank you Shepard, After Virmire, I couldn't stop thinking about what you said, about Sovereign manipulating me, about indoctrination." Saren would pause for a moment before continuing.
"The doubts began to eat away at me, Sovereign sensed my hesitation, I was implanted to strengthen my resolve, now my doubts are gone, I believe in Sovereign completely, I understand that the Reapers need organics, join us and Sovereign will find a place for you too." Saren would finish as Shepard would respond saying.
"Sovereign is controlling you through your implants, don't you see that?" Shepard would ask as Saren would reply.
"Our relationship is symbiotic, Organic and machine intertwined, a union of flesh and steel, the strengths of both, the weaknesses of neither, I am a vision of the future Shepard, The evolution of all organic life, this is our destiny Shepard, Join Sovereign and experience a true rebirth." Saren would finish as Havier would whisper to Shepard saying.
"Commander, Garrus is gesturing to me, saying that he can take the head off this mad man, you want him to do it?" Havier would ask as Shepard would shake her head before replying to Saren saying.
"Sovereign hasn't won yet, I can still stop it from taking control of the station, step aside and the invasion will never happen!" Shepard would say Saren would respond saying.
"We can't stop it, not forever, you saw the visions, you saw what happened to the Protheans, The Reapers are too Powerful." Saren would say as Shepard would respond saying.
"Some part of you must realise that this is wrong, you can fight this!" Shepard would say as Saren, clearly looking like Shepards words where getting through to him would say.
"Maybe your right, maybe there is still a chance for..." Saren would stop midway through groaning heavily as the Reaper implants attempted to enforce Sovereign's will on him.
"The Implants... Sovereign is too strong, I'm sorry, its too late for me." Saren would say as Shepard would step out of cover, realising what Saren was about to do the commander would shout out saying.
"It's not too late, you can still redeem yourself!" Shepard would shout out as Saren would aim a pistol at his head before saying.
"Goodbye, Shepard, Thank you." Saren would say before he pulled the trigger of his pistol.
Saren's corpse would rock upon his Hover board for a few moments, until he would slump to the ground falling straight off his Hover board and straight down onto the ground of the Botanical garden straight below the platforms the Councillors used to give public deliberations upon, smashing the glass that used to protect the gardens in the process.
"Well that's the end of that, Shepard, try plugging in that Datafile Vigil gave us into the terminal he was using, it should allow us to get the Citadel arms open and re-open the Mass Relays to the Citadel." Garrus would say as Shepard would nod her head in agreement before Tali would butt in saying.
"Also try and open a comm link with the Normandy, the Citadel has extremely powerful QEC Transmitters that should be able to accomplish this." Tali would say as Shepard would nod in agreement with Tali's suggestion.
Plugging in the Data-Chip given by Vigil it was immediately obvious that the thing was working wonders as several options would appear on the Terminal screen.
However it wasn't too long until crackly voice of an Asari would sound out through the Terminals speakers saying.
"This is Captain Neshura of The Sword of the Citadel, I repeat our ship has taken critical damage, requesting immediate assistance." The Asari captain would say as Havier would say to Shepard.
"The Sword of the Citadel, wouldn't that have the Council onboard it?" Havier would ask as Garrus would nod his head but before the Turian could Respond Joker's voice would sound out from the Terminal's speakers saying.
"Commander is that you?" Joker would ask as Shepard would respond saying.
"You where expecting someone else Joker?" Shepard would say as Joker would chuckle before replying.
"Yes I was expecting my Dentist Commander, but in all seriousness I'm in the Aralakh system with the Entirety of the Fifth Fleet, you get the Relay open and will come in and save the Councils collective asses." Joker would say as Havier would respond saying.
"Good lets get the Relay opened and the Citadel arms and have the fleet turn Sovereign into a fucking obituary." Havier would say as Garrus would reply saying.
"No we need to save the Council, I know you guys aren't exactly the biggest fans of them but they'll be more useful alive than dead." Garrus would say coldly as Tali would interject saying.
"Well its up to you commander, what do you think?" Tali would ask Shepard as the Commander would think for a few moments before replying.
"No way in hell I'm risking Terran lives to save the Councils asses, especially after Shanxi, Joker, advice Hackett to focus our efforts on clearing out all Geth and Reaper forces within the arms of the Citadel, let the Council's own force focus on saving there precious Council." Shepard would say as Joker would respond saying.
"Aye aye Captain, also you may want to burn Saren's body." Joker would say as Shepard would look at Joker confused before saying.
"What, why?" Shepard would ask as Joker would reply.
"Just do it, if a Suit says so it's best to listen." After hearing the slang term for an Okhrana agent come from Jokers mouth, Shepard's face would turn pale as she would turn around to Havier and Eorveth before saying.
"Well didn't you hear the man you two, I wanted his body to be nothing more than fucking ash five seconds ago so move it!" Shepard would bark out as Havier and Eorveth would immediately nod before the two of them would pull out several Melta bombs before tossing them down into the Botanical Garden.
"Everyone you may want to backup, the explosion is going to big pretty big." Havier would say as Shepard would nod in confirmation quickly entering in the commands to open up Both the Citadel arms and the Mass Relay surrounding the Citadel as the Squad would quickly run back towards the back of the room as the huge boom of the Melta bombs going off would resonate across the room, rendering Saren's corpse into nothing but ash.
TNS Noctilus, Command Bridge.
Location: Widow System, Near the Citadel.
"Sir, Entered System now, Christ almighty its a big old shitstorm sir." Hackett's Navigation Officer would say as the Admiral would nod in confirmation before opening a channel to the rest of his fleet.
"Every ship, focus on reaching the Citadel at all cost, we've come here for one job and one job only and that's top stop Sovereign for letting all of his Reaper buddies out of dark space, we are not here to wipe the Councils asses let them do that themselves, Does everyone understand?!" Hackett would bellow out over his fleet wide comm address receiving a number of Bellows and "Oorah's" from the crew on his own ship and those of the other ships in the Fifth fleet.
It was good timing as well, as right after Hackett's speech had Finished the Fifth fleet would begin to properly enter the Battlefield, while normally Terran naval doctrine would call to engage the enemy at a maximum possible distance to put it simply that really wasn't possible, as the sheer quantity of Geth ships meant that Terran Rail guns had to close into Medium to Close ranges in order to ensure that a Geth ship didn't take a Rail Gun shot for the team, which of course meant that his ships close to medium range weapon systems where going to be strained to there upmost limit, which if anyone knew anything about Terran warships, it was that they tended to have abysmal medium range weapon systems, however hopefully since the battlefield was so tightly crampt this factor would be significantly negated as it would be impossible for Geth ships to dodge rail gun shots even at close to 500m of range.
"Sir, Advance seems to be going well, it seems as if the Geth didn't except for us to show up so soon and have focused all of there efforts on dealing with the Citadel fleet." Hackett would nod in approval to his sensor officers words but before he could reply the open comms of his ship would start up with a distinctive Asari voice saying.
"This is Captain Nesura of the..." Before the Captain could continue speaking Hackett would turn to his comms officer before saying.
"Shut off that comms line for god's shake and order the rest of the fleet to do so I don't want anyone breaking rank trying to be hero's." Hackett would order as his comms officer would nod in confirmation with the comms channel soon being silenced later.
"Sir we've got eyes on the enemy super dreadnought on Camera's sir, 3km in length by our approximation." Hackett would nod his head in acknowledgement before saying.
"Alright I doubt this thing is going to go down any easier than its smaller cousins so I want every ship targetting that thing before it can even move!" Hackett would bark out as his gunnery officer would reply saying.
"But sir what about the Geth..." Before the Gunnery officer could continue Hackett would hush the man before replying.
"If that thing is able to escape god knows what will happen, and god forbid if its able to get into open space, have all ships target that thing now if they are able to." Hackett would order out as his gunnery officer would nod his head before commencing with his task.
"Alright sir, 16 Ships with Rail guns ready to fire at the Super dreadnought at your order sir." The gunnery officer would say as Hackett would nod before shouting out.
"FIRE!" Hackett would bark out over the fleet wide comm network and a few moments later all 16 ships ranging from Cruisers to Dreadnoughts would fire a enormous volley towards the Reaper Vessel.
The First two rail gun rounds to hit seemed to do little to the vessel, but then two more hit, and then another.
"Sir, Super dreadnought's Shields are down!" His Shields officer would say as two more would find there mark, this time large, yellow explosions would fire out from the ship as pieces of black armour and hull would break apart from the ship.
Another two Rail gun rounds would fly right past the Reaper and impacting one of the Citadels arms in the progress, of course said impact was probably going to piss the Council off to no end but there where far more important things at stake than the loss a few hundred civilians.
Another two Rail gun rounds would impact the Reaper, the ship in and off itself was very obviously close to death as sparks of red electricity would to Arc across the massive gouge that was close to splitting Sovereign in two.
"Sir, enemy super-dreadnoughts Drive core is close to death sir, one more Rail-gun shot should do the trick If I where to guess sir." The Gunnery officer would say again as Hackett would turn to face his comms officer before saying.
"Inform Captain Shepard that the Reaper Warship is about to explode, tell her and her squad to find some cover immediately." Hackett would order out as his comms officer would nod in confirmation and a good thing too as a few moments later the last Rail-gun round would impact the Reaper causing the ship to violently twist and turn before its drive core exploded utterly destroying the warship.
'This is just the Beginning' Hackett would think to himself as his crew would jeer out in triumph. Something which wasn't completely undeserved, Hackett thought to himself, considering that the remaining Geth forces would be easily cleared out considering that they where now stuck between the Fifth fleet and an emboldened Citadel defence fleet, but still this was only the beginning of the long war, a very long war, but for now he could afford to celebrate, so the old admiral, (well technically old, being married to an Aeldari typically meant that he has to undergo bio-rejuvenation treatments from time to time), would raise himself from his chair and make his way towards his quarters to see if he could surprise Aureleth with something she had wanted for awhile.
The Citadel, Presidium.
Location: Plaza, League Diplomatic Outpost.
Two Days after the end of the 2nd Battle of the Citadel
"Honestly, Benjamin why am I needed for this meeting, like its just some political bullshit if I'm not mistaken?" Shepard would ask the Brown skin Human as Bejamin would tighten up his old fashioned suit slightly before replying.
"It is important because this meeting will determine who's going to be leading this Diplomatic outpost, and considering that whoever is in charge of this post is going to be trying to keep the Council off our asses while we get ready for war." Shepard would nod her head in acknowledgement before responding.
"Still that doesn't explain why I'm going to this at all." Shepard would ask as the two of them made there way into the Outposts reception.
"It's because your the only person who's managed to kill one." Benjamin would say as Shepard would reply saying.
"The Fifth fleet killed Sovereign I didn't." Shepard would retort as the two of them would sit down on a pair of white stools as they waited to be called into the meeting.
"And you where the one that opened the Relay and Citadel arms and let them in, hell if it hadn't been for you we would have tens of thousands of Reapers at our doorsteps right now." Benjamin would say as Shepard would nod her head reluctantly before replying.
"True but still I'm a solder Benjamin and I barely know any of them, plus why would they care what I think?" Shepard would ask as Benjamin would reply saying.
"Because your the only one who knows of the magnitude of the threat that it coming, sure we have Vendetta but he only knows so much and my colleagues think that the well of Knowledge from him has dried up mostly, while you talked to one and then blew him to Kingdom come." Benjamin would finish as Shepard would respond saying.
"Alright what are my choices?" Shepard would ask as Benjamin would reply saying.
"Well you have Donald Udina..." Benjamin would suggest before Shepard would interject saying.
"Wait, Havier's dad, why is he even an option, like he's a rabid racist and xenophobe, and the only reason why he got this job was to get him out of congresses hair?" Shepard would ask as Benjamin would respond saying.
"Well yeah your pretty much correct about why he's here in the first place, but still he is an option and I wouldn't be re-missed if I didn't mention him." Shepard would nod her head in acknowledgment before responding.
"Alright who's the second one?" Havier would ask as Benjamin would reply saying.
"That would be Toren Na'shar, He's the Aeldari Ambassador to the Council and he is soft spoken, generous, kind, all the things you would want in a diplomat." Benjamin would say as Shepard would respond saying.
"But?" Shepard would ask as Benjamin would Reply saying.
"Well lets just say that poor old Toren wasn't born with a backbone, if he's assigned as the official League ambassador to the Council I can bet your bottom rouble that the Council is going to try to get him to sign, lets just say, very biased treaties with us, of course the other two can mitigate the damage but still."
Shepard would nod her head in understanding before replying.
"Alright who's the last one?" Shepard would ask as Benjamin would cough slightly before replying saying.
"The Last one would be Shala'Raan Dar Corhol Vas Tombay Nar Rayyah, as you can tell from the name she's the Quarian representative for the Outpost and is more of a middle of the road option between Raging Udina and Spineless Toren, She's stern but not uncompromisingly, just don't rile her up she has a viscous temper, oh and I think it should be worth noting that she is Tali'Zorah's unofficial aunt if I remember correctly." Shepard would nod her head before replying.
"Yeah I think I remember Tali talking to me about her the few times she was away from Havier, from what I took Tali is very fond of her." Benjamin would nod his head in agreement but before the man could respond the door to where the meeting would be taking place would open as a human wearing a dress would stroll down the stairs before saying.
"Miss Shepard, Mr Brian, the Ambassadors and Councillor are ready for you to come in." The woman would say as Shepard and Benjamin would nod there heads before standing up and following the woman into the meeting room.
"Ah, Shepard, its glad to know that your back up and healthier than ever." Udina would say as Shepard and Benjamin entered the room.
"It's good to see you too ambassador, but I think we should just cut to the chase and get down to business." Udina would nod his head in agreement before saying.
"Agreed, with most of the Council dead there is a unique opportunity to unite the Galaxy in a single, united front to oppose the Reapers once they arrive." Udina would say as Tevos would respond saying.
"Indeed, and in order to accomplish this it has been agreed by both the Citadel and League government that a new High Ambassador seat shall be established in order to facilitate the continuation of positive relations between our states." Tevos would finish as Raan would respond saying.
"This is why we want your suggestion on who should become the new High Ambassador Shepard, your the only one who truly knows what we are facing and this position will be highly important in maintaining, as Udina said, 'A united front'" Raan would finish as Benjamin would respond saying.
"It's your decision on who you want to support Shepard, but remember that this is a really important position and you'll want to choose someone capable of representing the Leagues interests and maintaining our alliance with the Council, and also keep In mind that your choice will be taken into heavy consideration." Benjamin would finish as Shepard would think for a moment before saying.
"I think Shala'Raan should lead the interests of the League as High Ambassador, she's a stern yet negotiable woman and I think she'll do well both representing the interests of the League and maintaining our alliance with the Council." Shepard would say as Udina would nod before responding.
"Not a bad choice by any imagination, but still are you sure this is the person you want to choose Shepard?" Udina would ask as Shepard would nod her head before responding.
"I'm sure ambassador, Shala'Raan can only do us proud." Shepard would say confidently as Raan would respond saying.
"I am honoured for your confidence in me commander and I assure you that it is not miss placed." Rann would say before continuing "But I would like it if we could talk more in private, here if you wouldn't mind." Raan would finish her sentence as Shepard would nod her head in confirmation before replying.
"Sure ambassador I don't mind." Shepard would say as Udina would say.
"Well if there is nothing else to be said then I think this meeting Is adjourned." Udina would as the rest of the ambassadors within the room would nod there heads in agreement and begin to file out of the room, minus Shala'Raan and Shepard of course.
As Benjamin passed by Shepard the large dark skinned human would lean in to say "We've got the data you recovered from Vigil, and have copied and saved most of the data from those devices you where carrying, we will let you know when we need you at a later date." Shepard would nod before responding.
"How will I know?" Shepard would ask as Benjamin would reply cryptical.
"You'll know." He would say before turning around and exiting the doorway along with the rest of the ambassadors and councillor that had left.
Turning around to Face Shala'Raan Shepard would sigh slightly before saying.
"So what do you want to talk about?" Shepard would ask as Shala would respond politely saying.
"Well its about my Niece, Tali'Zorah, her father has been worried sick for a month and I know that she ran off with that smuggler Havier and the two of them joined your crew." Shepard would nod her head in understanding before replying.
"You just want to make sure she's okay, a house call if you will?" Shala would nod her head as she would respond saying.
"Yes you could call it that, I've known Havier awhile to know that he doesn't have a bad bone within his body, by the spirts and the lord its probably why he's always out of cash and needed that Arakani of his, its just I have to be certain for Rael shake if you know what I mean." Shepard would nod her head in understanding before saying.
"I know what you mean and if you want to know where they are at 15 Marsden Luxury Resorts, Teyseri ward, 15 is the Apartment name if your wondering, will be there for a week so if you want to talk to them then now is your best chance." Shala would nod her head in thanks before replying.
"Thank you commander for being so open, I'll remember this." Shala would say as she walked past Shepard and out of the meeting room.
