"Damn," Gibbs said.

Sadie wretched her arms away from Gibbs and growled in frustration.

"Why is it I'm constantly one step behind them?!" Sadie cried as she kicked one of the broken toys.

"Sadie," Gibbs said but she wasn't listening. She kept kicking other broken toys. The toys clattered as they flew. Sadie muttered swear words after swear words. Gibbs turned as he heard Ziva walk in. She raised her eyebrow at the colorful language out of Sadie's mouth. Gibbs turned back in time to see Sadie stumble.

"Sadie!" He dropped the bear and ran to her. He caught her just as she fell to her knees. "Hey."

Sadie sat back on her legs as Gibbs grabbed her shoulders.

"You good?"

She shook her head but then groaned, "Oh I shouldn't have done that."

He lifted her face and peered into her eyes. He made a sound.

"I shouldn't have brought you here. You need rest," Gibbs said as he stood up and pulled her into his arms.

"But Jeth-"

"No, you promised you'd rest when I tell you to," Gibbs ordered. Sadie nodded silently in reply. She laid her head against his shoulder. He expected her to fight more like she used to do. She must've been in more pain than she let on. He led the way out with Ziva following, holding onto the two nanny cam bears.

He set Sadie into the backseat and buckled her in. Ziva strapped herself into the driver's seat. Once Gibbs got in and sat next to Sadie, she began driving, this time a little more careful than before. When they arrived back to the agency, Ziva parked next to Gibb's truck. He got out and started up his truck. As it was running, he went back around and picked up a sleeping Sadie. After he clicked her into the seat, he turned to Ziva.

"Ziva, I need you to get those catalogued with Abby, then tell everyone to go home. It's almost 2. Meet back at 10:00."

Ziva nodded, "Yes, Gibbs."

Ziva turned as Gibbs went around to the driver's side and hopped in. As he put the car in reverse, he looked up to see Sadie looking at him.

"Where we going?" She asked him, cracking a yawn.

"Home," He replied. Sadie nodded then closed her eyes back to sleep.

Right at 8am, his bedroom door clicked open, and Gibbs walked in with a small tray of breakfast. He set it aside on the nightstand and crouched down. He hated to wake her up, but he needed to for the day and for her hourly check in for her concussion.

"Hey, sweetheart," Gibbs whispered, his hands running through her hair. He remembered that's how she liked waking up. "Time to get up."

Sadie let out a sleepy groan and cracked one eye open.

"Whyyyy? It's too early!"

Gibbs smiled, "It's only 8. I've got breakfast here."

Sadie opened her other eye and sat up on her elbow to look. Her eyes shifted over to him.

"Your waffles?"

"My waffles."

She sat up and shifted to sit back on the backboard. Gibbs stood up and grabbed the tray. As he set it over her lap, she let out a little squeal.

"It's been forever since I've had your waffles," Sadie said as she took a bite. Her eyes rolled as if in ecstasy. "I couldn't replicate it for the kids."

"You never had the secret ingredient," Gibbs said.

Sadie swallowed a bite, "What is it?"

Gibbs shook his head, a finger on his grinning lips. Sadie rolled her eyes. Of course, he would never tell. She scarfed down the rest of the breakfast. With everything that happened the night before, she was starving. Once she finished, Gibbs took the tray away and set it on the floor beside the bed. He sat on the bed and faced her.

"Last check of the night," Gibbs began then Sadie groaned in annoyance.

"Good Lord Jethro, I'm surprised I still got a good night's sleep with you waking me up every hour on the dot. Don't even bother asking, let me just tell you," Sadie said. "President Obama, Jet and Daisy, and we met on one of your cases over ten years ago. Satisfied?"

Gibbs gave her a grin then shook his head, "Not quite. What was our first date?"

"The zoo. Technically, we weren't supposed to go there but we ended up doing it because they had that special lighting ceremony to celebrate the birth of an elephant, and you also wanted to know what my favorite animal was, so you used it as a guessing game," Sadie recalled fondly. "It's one of the reasons why I took the twins to the zoo for an early birthday. I wanted them to have the same experience we did."

Gibbs smiled, remembering it all. He patted Sadie's legs then got up from the bed. He stood next to it then leaned down to press a kiss to her forehead. Then he picked up the food tray and headed to the door. He turned.

"Ziva went back to your house to pick up a few of your clothes. Go ahead and get dressed. Meet me downstairs and we'll head out when we're ready," Gibbs said before he stepped through the doorway and closed it behind him, so she had privacy.

Once the door clicked shut, he leaned on the wall. He shouldn't have been so surprised that she remembered it. As he was sure she knew, ten years was a long time. In that moment, he regretted his actions that ended it all. If he hadn't done that, then maybe they would all have been together now. He would have been there when the twins were born…been there when her nana died. He would've been there for everything. He regretted breaking off the relationship out of the blue.

He let out a little sigh then went down the stairs to put away the breakfast dishes and wait for Sadie. It wasn't long when Sadie came down the stairs, her soft footsteps alerting him. He met her at the bottom of the stairs, keys in his hand.

"Ready to go?"

Sadie nodded, "Are we going back to the agency?"

Gibbs nodded as they headed to the garage.

"I told the others to show up at ten. I wanted us to be there early so we can see what new information is there," Gibbs said.

Gibbs opened the passenger side door for Sadie, and she slipped in with a murmured thanks. He shut the door and went around the front. His phone rang. He stopped in front of his door and answered it. Sadie couldn't hear the conversation. As soon as he hung up the phone, he opened the door, got in, clicked the garage door open, and turned the car on. He turned to Sadie.

"Change of plans," Gibbs said. "We're going to the hospital instead."

"What?" Sadie exclaimed, fear gripping her heart. "Please no…"

Gibbs grabbed her hand before it had the chance to go up to her mouth. He gave it a squeeze.

"Hey, it'll be okay," He tried to reassure her. "There was a young girl matching Daisy's description dropped off a few hours ago. DiNozzo will be meeting us there to confirm it's Daisy."

He pulled her hand to his lips, then drove off as Sadie sat in worried silence.
