All I remember is that I was in a battlefield surrounded by corpses of more than 100 men that I had slaughtered. Perhaps it was a taunt from the gods to anger me, maybe to make my immortal life more unbearable. My robes were covered in blood, but no marking of pain or wounds were in sight. I was cursed to never feel pain, and the magic fire I possess burns everything it touches.

Now that I had opened my eyes, I was in the middle of a town surrounded by screaming kids, all who had weapons that I had never seen before. Maybe it was a new task given to me by the gods…

As he had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, Shino Yukio felt more than anything a bit of a headache. slight breaths wouldn't calm his nerves, nor could it restrain him from overthinking. Where was he? Japan didn't look like this. As also were the thoughts of those around him that he could tell were much of fear and horror. The people who looked like young adults shouted in fear or ran to get someone for help, since his coat was covered in blood. Although he showed no emotion during this whole ordeal, it was clear to him something was definitely wrong. He felt isolated, alone, almost foreign to this land. When he was about to lift his hand to remove the hood from his face, a hand touched his side, causing him to jump back in a defensive instinct.

"Hold on, I'm not here to fight you." A girl in a red and black dress greeted him with a sincere look and pointed to the building behind him. "Are you a student here?

"No ill will seems to come from her, but she looks like a warrior to me. This must be how soldiers look in this place."

Shino was trying to evaluate the situation, and became even more confused by the sight of glowing lights and scrolls that lit up. "Can you explain to me where I am?"

The girl was taken aback by this question, as she probably had no idea how he couldn't know. "What do you mean? You're at Beacon Academy in Vale. This is where we train to become huntsmen!?"

Shino was now even more alert. Vale? Huntsman? What is this a fairytale? Do they hunt for their people? Is this really a reality and not some screwed up dream? "Huntsman? Is that what you called soldiers here?"

The girl now looked pretty concerned as she began to realize this man may not be as misplaced as she thought. "You don't know Vale? Where else could you be? Are you sure your alright?" It then becomes aware to her that his coat is covered in blood. She was just too busy trying to comprehend his confusion.

"Woah what happened? Did you just get shot or something? We need to get you to an infirmary asap!" The girl tried to grab his hand but was suddenly unable to move him, as if he was made of stone or something.

As Shino was listening to this young lady worry about his attire and well-being, he took a second to realize that maybe he really was stuck somewhere unknown to him. As if he was transported into an earth foreign to his current knowledge. "Look young lady, I am honored that you care much for my safety, but fortunately wounds do not exist anywhere on my body, as most weapons would shatter after contact with it. I'm afraid the blood is from a battle I had fought a while ago."

The young lady took notice of his coat once more, thinking now about the horrors he might have witnessed. "Shouldn't we get you changed then? It's better we go inside before you get mistaken for a-" She was cut off by a sudden jolt of energy coming from a blonde that appeared in front of her.

Shino had been punched but alas he didn't move. After all, he was stronger than anyone could possibly imagine. The blonde remained steady in her stance as she tried to punch again only to be stopped by his hand. "I'm sorry if I did something to you, but punching me won't solve anything. You'll break a knuckle bone if you continue."

Once the blonde realized her futile attempts of fighting were worthless, she withdrew her hand from his grip, which he had lighten as to not hurt her. "Yang what was that for? He wasn't trying to hurt me!" The girl looked very concerned. What if Yang pissed him off??!

Yang, wearing her usual outfit of a black and yellow combat skirt, got beside the girl, obviously worried for her well being. "Why would you walk up to a stranger covered in blood? Doesn't he look like a killer to you? You have to be careful Ruby!"

Shino didn't feel offended in the slightest, since he was a samurai warrior, a ruthless, deadly one at that. "So those are your names? Very interesting. Yang is a very important name where I am from. It would be very rude of me to not introduce myself then." He bowers slightly with his hands tucked to his side before raising himself back up. "I am Shinigami Yukio. But for a more honest and sincere approach you may address me as Shino."

Yang was again appalled by his manners, while Ruby was more or less relieved that he didn't try to attack Yang. "Well Mr. Shino, we should probably take you inside before someone else attacks." Ruby turned her head in a disapproving way towards Yang, who put her hands up in an apoplectic attempt of innocence. "By the way. You seem very young. Are you by any chance older than us?" Ruby seemed to have a sense of comfort in knowing more about him while Yang was still dismissive of his good intentions.

"Well I can not obviously say I'm 160 years old. That would be a disaster. No one would like to be friends with a yokai."

Shino took a breath as they began walking towards the entrance of the building in front of them, which gave him a sense of wonder as he began to speak. "Well I'm 16 years of age. In my world that's almost a full grown adult. I wouldn't want to ask you lady's since that would be a bit of a rude thing to do." Shino had manners more prevalent to them than they thought.

Ruby was appalled and began to laugh. His manners were something very foreign to her. "You don't have to worry about that Shino. I'm only 15. Yang is one year older." Yang looked at Shino and inspected him. He looked very average, but it was apparent to her he was stronger than he looked. "We can take you on a tour around the academy!"

As they walked in, Shino was mesmerized by the sight of the interior. Since he was from Kamakura (era) Japan, technology wasn't even like this. Glowing lights, screens that showed colors and moving pictures, he was amazed and impressed. "This is incredible! I have never seen anything like this before! How far have humans advanced?"

Yang was shocked as she turned to face him. "You've never seen this stuff? Man you must be ancient!" Yang took out a scroll (her phone) and showed it to him. "See this is my scroll. It allows me to contact anyone anytime, anywhere! Do you really not have these where you're from?"

Shino sighed as he looked into it and shook his head. "The only way we could talk or send a message to our clan members or leaders was to send them a scroll or talk to them. I lived in an era where this kind of stuff was….nonexistent." This caused Yang and Ruby to look at him in complete shock.

"What year were you born in?" Yang was more or less intrigued now since it seemed he was ancient.

Shino took a slight breath before speaking again. "I was born in 1114 AD. Judging by these advancements I would be considered ancient history." This caused Yang and Ruby to look at each other in astonishment.

"Wow we don't even know what that kind of year is! Here it's the year XX78." This caused Shino to look at Yang in confusion. "I know it's a lot to take in, but I'm sure you'll get used to all the technology and modern advancements."

Shino kept walking despite their suggestions of adapting to society. "Sadly that is not what concerns me. I have been transported here for a reason, and to consider the fact I'm not even in a world that has a proper year gives me great wonder and curiosity. The gods always seem to ruin any chance of hope I have of living a normal life." Yang walked beside him with a frown on her face.

"Shino, what would you define normal? Ruby and I have always lived an abnormal life. Our mother abandoned us as kids and our whole life we've had to figure out what we really wanted. That's why we came here, to fight the Grimm and become huntsmen. To fight evil and stop the White Fang."

Shino was now more than just intrigued. When he heard the word "evil", it made his blood boil in rage and disgust. "Who are the White Fang? What makes them evil?" His fists tightened in anger, which Ruby quickly took notice of.

Yang clenched her fists as well. "They're faunus who commit crimes and steal from the Schnee Dust Company. They claim it's in the name of Faunus liberation and equality, but they've caused innocents to die!"

As Shino was about to request more information, 2 girls walked towards them. One with an ice blue dress and One dressed in a modern black outfit, something Shino had never seen before. "Hey guys, what are y'all talking about? And who's the cutie?" Yang and Ruby both looked surprised at that comment while the one with ears resembling a cat looked at her with amusement.

Shino, who was not used to comments like this, quickly shook his head in embarrassment, while Ruby was quick to speak up. "Hey Weiss. Hey Blake. This is Shinigami Yukio. He was uh….uh…" Ruby didn't know exactly how to word it, while Blake was more interested in his coat. It was coincidently still covered in blood.

"Why are you covered in blood? Did he kill somebody?" Blake steadily reached for her weapon which caused Shino to tense slightly. He wouldn't want to fight this girl, since he was a deadly samurai.

Yang attempted to intervene before things got much worse. "Hold on Blake, he's not going to hurt you. Apparently he's stronger than he looks. Ruby found him in the middle of the pavilion outside of the academy. He's not from here, or anywhere to be exact." After hearing that Blake tensed down from the sudden threat, causing Shino to sigh in relief.

Weiss on the other hand, was interested in his weapon. "What kind of weapon is that?" She pointed to his katana, which was sheathed in a satin black. "It's not like my sword or Rubys Scythe. Is it something special?"

Shino, intrigued by the question, responded by taking his sheath from his hip and removing the sword from said sheath, causing gasps of awe and confusion as they saw nothing more than a crimson black katana. This caused Blake to question his choice of weapon.

"It's just a regular old sword. Does it not incorporate dust or dust crystals?" Shino gave her a confused look, sending Blake into another speech about said topic. "Dust is kind of like an energy source. It's purpose is to create energy and power through our weapons. Kind of like ammunition for guns."

Shino took it all in and sighed with a sense of humility. "This is considered the strongest sword in my world. It is made of some metal called obsidian. It is sharper than any blade you might possess, so I would advise not taking it without a word of caution from the owner, hence me." The 4 girls were astonished by his weapon.

"But you know, I think we should take his coat off." Ruby proceeded to take his coat off, only leaving a black kimono in their sights. "We don't want to get anyone else to attack you. Let's try and take him to Professor Ozpin. He should know what to do."

Shino was now more than just intrigued. When he heard the word "evil", it made his blood boil in rage and disgust. "Who are the White Fang? What makes them evil?" His fists tightened in anger, which Ruby quickly took notice of.
