A/N: Some time ago, my hard drive crashed and all my files were gone! Luckily, thanks to GeekSquad at my local Best Buy, they managed to save a large portion of my data. It got me spooked so I decided to upload them to fanfic early. Now let me be perfectly clear: I am NOT working on Forsaken right now! These two chapters are merely a treat for the 2nd anniversary of me taking over Ptabs0101's Remnant of a Rose Series.

The team of five stood before the doors leading to their destination.

It was a very trying journey for all of them. They did much good, and some that most would classify as bad or at best, morally gray. But whatever happens, for good or for bad, it led them to this moment.

A moment that will change everything for everyone from now on.

A few weeks earlier.

Cayde-6, Hunter Vanguard and dashing rogue, flew his jumpship, Queen of Hearts, over the island of Patch on Remnant. It has been a year since the end of the Red War that occurred on both Earth and Remnant, and the damage both worlds were subjected to has been fully recovered. Sure, some of the Kingdoms still had some scars from the war. Haven Academy has finally been rebuilt using a combination of architecture from both Remnant and Cabal tech, the same could be said of Beacon Academy, and the graveyard of ships; both Atlesian and Cabal still littered the tundra outside of Atlas and Mantle. And the remnants of the Cabal that invaded; while still a nusance, have been quiet, same could be said with the Grimm.

But neither the Grimm nor the remnants of the Cabal Legions was the reason Cayde was here. He came for his protégé and favorite Guardian, Summer Rose.

Summer Rose was born here on Remnant, grew up here, married, had kids, a life. Then on an assignment, she died and somehow got transported to Earth and became a Guardian. Then she got transported back to Remnant, reunited with her family, and saved the world. Numerous times.

After the last one, she decided to take a break from being a Guardian and be more involved with her family. That was why he was here at the Xiao Long-Rose Family residence to see if she wanted to get back into the swing of things.

He flew over the island one more time before setting the jumpship down and to the coordinates. After finally finding it, he set down a distance away and transmatted out of the ship. He began to walk towards the cabin, noticing some additions to it.

The main cabin was still intact, but it had an additional floor added to it. And the garage was expanded from its original one car, to a five car one. The pristine garden that the patriarch, Taiyang Xiao Long took great pride it, was semi-intact except for huge holes dug here and there, some of which were filled along with claw marks littering the place. He passed a sign that said, War Beasts for Sale!

Wondering what that was about, he went to the door and knocked.

He didn't wait that long when the door opened and instead of the patriarch himself, was instead the daughter and spitting image of her mother, Ruby Rose.

"Uncle Cayde!" She shouted, making the Exo smile as she use her semblance to speed towards him and give him a huge hug.

"Hey kiddo, nice to see you here."

"Yeah, we're on break right now, but we'll be going back for our second year soon!" She said excitingly.

"Surprised that you and your team aren't already Huntresses."

"Yeah, after our assignment, we took a vote and decided to keep going in our academics."

During the whole rebuilding process, the huntsmen academies had a sort of system in place where the students can shadow Guardians and do jobs alongside them. Afterwards, students had the option to skip the remaining school year all together and gain their huntsmen license or stay in the academies for their remaining years.

"I'm here to see your mom, is she here?"

"Yeah, she's in the garage." Ruby said beckoning him inside.

The interior of the house was as you expect of a normal house. Well, except for numerous large pillows that had Cabal War Beasts laying on them fast asleep.

"I see you have some additions to the family." He whispered gesturing to the animals, one hand on his trusty gun, Ace of Spades.

"Oh they're alright." Ruby said patting one on the head, surprising Cayde that it started to purr. "When mom decided to take a year off, she brought a bunch of these War Beasts with her, with our dog, Zwei as their alpha." Gesturing to one pillow where said Corgi was asleep on a more opulent pillow.

"We then found out that they were going to have puppies, so we decided to sell them, to great success." She continued passing a few photos where she and her sister Yang were posing with said puppies.

"After that, she got into baking, which was awesome!" She said leading them through the kitchen, pausing to open a cabinet where she quickly jumped back as an avalanche of chocolate chip cookies came pouring out onto the floor. Several minutes passed before it ended. Ruby then grabbed several of them and stuffed them into her mouth.

"She made a lot." She said between bites before continuing. Cayde figured all the cabinets in the kitchen were all filled with cookies.

"She made a lot of renovations to the house including a floor dedicated to her weapons. I even sleep walked into the room and woke up there in the morning." She said with stars in their eyes.

Cayde hummed in acknowledgement. "What's she working on now?" He asked as they finally came to the door leading to the garage.

"See for yourself." Ruby said opening the door.

Inside of the garage was a mess of mechanical parts, tools and a small red car on a lift with the legs of two women right under it. A Ghost was hovering over the car with a beam of light shining down.

"Okay Drei, a little to the left…a bit more …there!"

"I still don't understand why you are doing this." The now identified Drei said.

"Because it would be awesome flying through space in the comfort of your own vehicle." Said one pair of legs.

"Plus, can you imagine the look on the other Guardians face when they hover over a planet and seeing our family car, Zippy, pull up right next to them." Said another pair as said pair pulled out from under the car revealing the owner of said legs was the Y of Team RWBY and Ruby's older sister, Yang Xiao Long. "Oh, hi Cayde!" She said seeing the Exo, wiping grease from her face.

BONK!

"OW! Cayde's here!" Said the other pair as the owner rolled out from under the car, revealing themselves as Summer Rose, Guardian, former huntress and the mother of the two.

"Hey Cayde, long time."

"Too long." He said before turning to Ruby and Yang. "Hey kiddos, can you give me and your mom a moment please?" He waited as Yang and Ruby left the garage so it was now only him, his Ghost, Drei and Summer.

Summer brushed off her hands on her knees as she started to pick up the tools around her, putting them back in their place. "Walk and talk as I put these tools away. Taiyang hates it when I leave the tools all over the place. Nearly stepped on some wrenches and a blowtorch one time. So, what do you need?"

"I got a job recently and wondered if you wanted in?"

"Oh, Traveler yes!"

Cayde stopped himself before he continued talking, not an easy thing to do for someone like him.

"I…was not expecting you to agree this fast. I had this whole speech prepared for getting you back in."

"Believe me, I am surprised as you are, but truthfully, I was getting a bit stir crazy! I bred and sold war beasts to the neighbors and throughout Remnant. Made so many cookies that I can start a company rivaling the SDC, made a room dedicated to weapons and right now making a jumpship out of a car! I need to get back in the saddle. But I want to be more a part of their lives."

Cayde-6 hummed in thought and came up with an idea. "The job I have in mind wouldn't hurt to have two more additions. Why don't you bring her daughters along, a sort of mother-daughters bonding job?"

"YES!"

Both Summer and Cayde-6 turned and saw the door slam wide open and a speedy red blur tackled the hunter Vanguard down on the ground. Ruy wrapping herself around his waist. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, thank you!" She kept mutter with yang smiling.

Summer turned to Drei. "What do you think?"

"While it would be nice to get back to doing what we have been doing for the last few years, and yes, I too was getting a bit crazy cooped up. I would also be nice for your daughters to see what you do as a Guardian. Not the whole, save the universe sort of thing, but a simple meat-and-potatoes mission."

Summer smiled agreeing with her ghost. She waved a hand and her grease stained attire was soon transformed into her usual Guardian armor attire.

"So where are we going?" She asked.

"Prison of Elders. According to Petra, they've been getting a bit restless and wants us to quiet them down."
