Draco grumpily apparated to Granger's front door.
Knock knock
"You home granger?" He drawled
No answer
He knocked again, and again. He knew he was being annoying but Granger should have felt him apparate into her wards and she could have sent a patronus or some kind of note to tell him she was busy. She hadn't even bothered to show up to work today, no note or anything. He figured she was deep into some new project of sorts and had forgotten about the outside world but he was still annoyed with her.
He was about to leave, he still had work to do even without the infuriating witch he heard a shuffle from inside the house and a loud bang, as if someone had fallen down.
"Granger?" he called
"Granger are you alright?"
No answer
He was starting to get worried, had she fallen? Or dropped something? Why wasnt she answering?
He heard a bit of movement behind the door but she still no voice
"Grangerrrrrr I'm coming in". He half groaned, a bit annoyed but also worried for her
He did a quick alohomora, figuring if her wards let him in the door wouldn't be warded against him. Sure enough it worked. He quickly opened the door, or he tried to. As he pushed it he felt resistance and he realized granger must have fallen against the door
"Granger, I'm going to have to push you if you don't move ''. He said to her
"Gmhddneurj" was all he heard in response
He didn't really know what to take from that but he heard noise from inside so he gave her a minute before opening the door fully.
Granger was half laying down half curled on the floor, she didn't look up when he came in but he couldnt tell if she was mad at him or something else.
"Why didn't you show up to work this morning?he inquired
She didn't appear to be listening and had just curled herself into a tighter ball.
"Grangerrrrr, Grangerrrrrrrr. Answer me"
He waited a minute until finally
"Shhhhhhhhhh"was all she said
"Granger, what's wrong?" he asked all while bending down to try and make eye contact with her.
As he got closer to her he realized she was shivering and her eyes were squeezed shut as if his voice was causing her pain.
Granger are you ok?. He asked urgently. He instinctively put his hand to her forehead and realized she was burning up, Like a serious temperature. He took out his wand and cast an internal temperature measuring spell.
Almost immediately he heard a gut wrenching scream. He looked down and grangers head was now in her hands and she was shaking even more
"What did i do, What did i do? He almost screamed his voice going up and octave out of worry. Why had a spell hurt her, he wondered? He knew that asking her would be useless as she didn't seem to have the capacity for speech at the moment but he decided that he shouldn't use magic on her till she could explain what was happening to her .
He wasn't sure what to do, he'd never really dealt with sick people before. His friends and family only ever got the occasional sniffle which a pepper up potion and a nap easily cured. Someone being so sick was new to him and he was a little terrified.
He decided, first things first, he needed to get her off the floor and to a calm room, without the fluorescent lights the front hall was flooded in.
"I'm going to pick you up now, Granger" he said, trying to keep his voice to a soothing whisper so as not to aggravate her headache even more.
She didn't say anything in answer but he didn't really know what else to do so he slowly picked her up. He tried to move her as little as possible and picked her up in the ball form she'd been in on the floor. It was a little awkward carrying her like that but it got easier with a quick arm shift. He noticed she was quite light, barely 100 pounds and he worried about how long she'd been sick, had she been alone in this house for days, so sick she couldn't eat? She was a small woman but 100 pounds was not a healthy weight for a grown woman. He saw that her skin was very pale, almost translucent, her veins glowing blue under it.
He walked through the house briskly looking for her room, or any room with a bed really.
He got to a staircase and quickly found her room, with a wall of bookshelves and loose parchment all over the floor.
He gently lowered her into the bed and went to dim the lights.
Hi, my name is Navi and I'm just a new writer on this platform.
I've been reading fanfics for years but I've never written any because I'm honestly not the best at it, but I decided why not try.
If anyone sees this I would love some constructive criticism and tell me if you want more chapters. I've already written the second one but I don't know if I should publish it or not.
