Chapter 1 for my second Natsu Hisui story Enjoy

Natsu Dragneel, with his best friend and partner Happy, is returning home after another successful mission.

Suddenly, they hear a loud noise in the distance. Feeling a little concerned, they head off to investigate.

What they saw left them speechless. It was the wreckage of a caravan. Not just any based on the flags and markings. They're royalty.

Bodies litter the ground with rune knights; he can only assume royal guards.

Then they heard a scream not too far away. Natsu bolted to the sound to see a tall man with dark skin in armor.

He stands more on his knees before the last caravan with his sword drawn out.

Standing across from him is, without a doubt, a dark mage. The magical aura was a dead giveaway to Natsu.

But that is not the part that put him on edge. Instead, one of the dark mages' hands is engulfed in dark magic as black as night.

"Now, the king will bow to me!" The black magic engulfing his hand forms a sword.

He brings it down on the knight before him.

But before he makes contact, the two both feel a blistering heat from their side.

"FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST!" Natsu nails the dark mage across the face, sending him flying in the opposite direction.

"Happy. Help them out while I deal with this guy!"

"Aye, Sir!" He shouts. Natsu heads off, fighting in the forest,

Happy land before the knight. "Are you okay, sir?"

"I'll be fine, but first, the princess," he said through pained grunts.

Happy goes to the door and pulls it open to see a girl with green hair curled up in a ball.

She has her eyes buried in her knees.

Happy has never seen someone look so vulnerable before.

"Princess, are you still with us? Everything is fine now."

"Are you sure!" She said through her knees.

Just then, Natsu returns with minor scrapes and bruises with dark mage heavenly beaten and batter over his shoulder.

"This guy was tough. I assume he made a surprise attack on you?" The knight shook his head yes.

He laid the dark mages down on the ground only to tie him up with a torn flag.

"My name is Natsu Dragneel. What's yours?" He held his hand out to the knight.

"Arcadious, this is the caravan of Princess Hisui E Fiore!" He said, getting back to his feet.

Natsu stepped into the caravan to see Happy sitting on the caravan seat next to the princess.

"Princess, everything is fine now. No one will hurt you. I promise!" He said with a fanged grin.

Hisui found the strength to look Natsu in the eyes, only for concern to take over seeing his injuries.

"You're hurt!"

"The guy got a few good hits on me. It's nothing to worry about. I've had worse."

She gave him a level gaze, looking him up and down. "If you say so."

She reluctantly takes his hand, guiding her out of the wreckage of the caravan.

Happy had taken it upon himself to check for any survivors.

Fortunately for them, several members of the princess guards are still alive.

"Natsu minds staying with the princess. I have to let the others know what's happened!"

"Sure."

He leans on the caravan with his hand behind his head.

Hisui mirrored him except with her hand on her side, her mind still processing all that's happened.

Arcadious calls the nearest Rune Knight station to bring them up to speed before disconnecting.

He returns to the dark mage holding the tip of his sword at the man's throat.

"Why attack the princess!" He demanded

"Like I'd tell you!" He spat with a glob of saliva, hitting Arcadia's boots.

After nearly an hour of going back and forth, Arcadia couldn't get a single drop of information on the attacker.

Natsu decided it was a good idea to remind the assailant of his situation with an open flame dangerously close to his face.

The site alone was enough to scare him into compliance. He attacked them to get back at the king for some of his subordinates destroying his land.

"The king himself would never do that. Tell us the fine details. It might lessen your punishment!" Arcadious informed.

"Fine!"

By this time, the rune knight showed up to escort the princess back to the capital.

"Well, if that's all, we better get going, Happy."

"Aye, sir!"

"Wait! We need to give you some reward for saving us!" Hisui informed me.

"We don't need a reward for helping those in need. It's not the fairy tail way." He said farewell with a wave of his hand.

As Hisui watched the mage, who saved not only her but Arcadious, walk away, she only had one thought.

"Natsu Dragneel, huh, my curiosity is officially peaked!"

When Natsu finally made it to the guildhall, only a handful were. Mira, who was still at the guild, noticed Natsu's injuries.

"Natsu, what happened?" She said with concern.

"Someone needs some help on my way back to the guild! Where, gramps?" He dismissed her concerns.

"What is it you need, my boy!" Makarov said, coming out of his office and noticing Natsu's injuries.

"On my way back, a dark mage attacked the royal family caravan!" He brought the two up to speed and what happened.

"And you didn't take a reward!" Makarov said

"Master!" Mira said in a disappointed tone.

"I mean, good you didn't. Help set an example of the fairy tail guild!" He said sternly, causing the two plus happy to give him a level gaze.

"Anyway, just letting you know, come on, happy time to head home!"

"Aye, sir."

With Hisui

Hisui had just told her father what had transpired, including Natsu saving their sorry behinds.

Noticing the dreamy look in his daughter's eyes, Toma narrowed his eyes and had to say something about it.

"Don't tell me you're falling for him just because he saved you!?"

"NO WAY!" She exclaimed, crossing her arms under her chest. "I AM NOT THAT SHALLOW OR EASILY WON OVER!"

"Good!" He said with a proud smile

Putting her hand on her chin, she said, "However, I'd be lying if I said my curiosity isn't peaked." Her father nodded at this.

"It doesn't feel right to accept his help without some kind of reward, given the severity of the attack," Toma said, pondering how to reward the fairy tail guild, specifically Natsu.

"I'm sure you'll think of something, Father," she said, heading to her room.

The following day, Hisui decided to satisfy her curiosity about the wizard that saved her life.

Being royalty has advantages, like unrestricted access to information on wizards, in this case, Natsu Dragneel.

She started from the beginning when he first joined Fairy Tail. In the end, it took two weeks to finish looking into him.

By this time, in true fairytale fashion, the guild destroyed something.

The king saw this as a chance to repay them with news of Hisui's rescue reaching all corners of Fiore.

The magic council was split on this. On the one hand, they were proud a wizard protected the princess of their nation. On the other, it was a fairytale of all guilds, meaning they were in the royal family's good graces.

As for the wizard responsible for this, he and his best friend Happy are passing through the capital as it is the shortest route home.

"Nice for the king to help our guild out, Natsu," Happy said from Natsu's shoulder.

"It sure was just hope the guild doesn't try to abuse it," he said nervously, knowing not to abuse certain privileges when you're in a guild with Erza.

"Natsu Dragneel!" A new voice shouted out. Natsu stops completely, looking at the agent to see a man in royal armor.

"Yes," he reluctantly answered with a nervous tone.

"Come with me!" He said, leaving no room for arguing.

Not wanting to get in trouble, the two followed his lead to the royal family's castle.

He stood in the throne room, clearly on edge, before King Toma walked to greet them.

"Ah, Natsu, so glad you're here!" He said with a smirk.

Natsu is super nervous, knowing the tone all too well when part of a guild with Mira in it.

"What is it you need from me, Your Majesty?" He said shakily.

"Relax, you're not in trouble so far." Natsu relaxed a little but remained on edge.

"I want to talk to you about my daughter you saved."

"You're not going to make me marry her because I saved her, are you?"

"No, not at all. Later is another story." Natsu let out a sigh of relief at this.

Marrying the princess just because he saved her is a terrible reason, regardless of circumstance.

"So why did you ask me here?"

"To keep it simple, my daughter is lonely, as in little to no friends lonely. You've made quite the impression on her. If she can open up to anyone, it's you!" Natsu has a good idea of where the king is heading with this.

"Sure, I assume she is nearby?"

"Arcadios, would you mind."

"Not at your majesty." he took the lead with Natsu right behind.

A few minutes later, they run into Hisui, who is surprised to see Natsu again.

"Natsu, what are you doing here?"

I was passing by and wanted to see how you were doing!" He said with a straight face before his stomach rumbled, "Sorry, do you have anything to eat?" Three floored themselves at Natsu's words.

"Arcadios, can you take Natsu to get some food? I'll catch up with Natsu in a little bit."

Arcadios recognized the look in her eyes, "Follow me, Natsu. It's not that far." Natsu, none the wiser of Hisui's words, followed the knight.

This left Hisui and her father by themselves. With a glare rivaling her late mother, She drilled into her father, knowing he had something up his sleeve.

"Tell me the truth!"

"I've noticed for some time you've been stressed or bored and thought Natsu would make a great friend, and clearly, he's no stranger to combat if the worst comes to pass!" He said with a wide grin.

Hisui stayed silent as she processed her father's words, never letting up on her gaze.

"Fine, it would be nice having a friend close to my age who isn't trying to gain favor with us."

"Natsu earned him, but he doesn't come off as the type of person to abuse it."

"That makes two of us," she finished before heading toward Natsu.

Finally catching up to Natsu, she sees him stuffing his face with meat.

Unfortunately, some of it wasn't making it to his mouth. Hisui's sweat drops at his lack of table manners.

She wouldn't admit it, but his behavior is refreshing.

She sits across from him only to notice Happy eating a fish on the table.

Natsu finished his meal with a massive burp and a smirk.

"I take your full Natsu?"

"For now, yes, Hisui." His casual tone shocked many of the servants.

Hisui was slightly thrown back at his casual response before quickly adjusting his tone.

"So this is what my father meant."

"Now that I'm full, could you give me a personal tour?"

"Sure." Taking the lead, she led him around the castle, specifically the part she could show him.

Things went fine till night came. It was late in the day to go home, let alone find an inn to stay at.

This left Natsu in an uncomfortable position. Fortunately, Arcadios could help him by giving him a bed in the barracks.

Natsu and Happy stayed for three days total before returning to Fairy Tail.
