Chapter Text
Lori stared at her own reflection in the cracked screen of her dead phone, she still has the same clothes from before but with a jacket.
a heavy sigh escaping her lips. It had been months since the phone had last worked, a symbol of the growing curse that seemed to plague her family. She couldn't help but wonder who or what could have caused such misfortune to befall them.
Lori's mind wandered back to the beginning, to the time when everything seemed normal. It had started with Luan, the family's resident prankster. One day, the family woke up to find her missing.
Then came Lincoln and Leni, they too disappeared to thin air.
Next in line was Lynn, the athletic powerhouse of the family. She had always been full of energy and vitality, but suddenly,The fire that engulfed their home had taken everything from them, including Lynn Jr., who was trapped inside and burned alive. The loss was unbearable, and Lori couldn't help but feel a deep sense of guilt for not being able to save her sister.
As the days passed, Lori noticed a change in Lucy, the family's resident goth and lover of all things dark and mysterious. Lucy seemed haunted by guilt, tormented by vivid nightmares of Lynn Jr.'s final moments. She became increasingly withdrawn, unable to sleep at night and seeking solace only when daylight broke through the darkness.
And now Lastly it was Lana. Lola's twin sister, they tried to find the mansion, Lori didn't know what really happened as Lola refused to speak with her, but they brought her back severely injured.
As she pondered the cause of this curse, Lori's mind raced through countless possibilities. Was it some sort of supernatural force? A vengeful spirit seeking retribution? Or perhaps it was a result of some past misdeeds, a karmic punishment for their family's actions?
Lori gazed at her family, their collective sadness and distress palpable in the air. Lola, still unable to fully accept Lana's tragic death, clung to her sister's hat, wearing it on her head as a constant reminder of the bond they once shared. Her short ponytail peeked out from under the hat, a symbol of her determination to carry on Lana's spirit.
Lily, now a bit older after a year had passed, had grown wiser beyond her years. She had taken on the role of the peacemaker in the family, offering words of comfort and support to her grieving siblings. Her presence brought a sense of calm amidst the storm of emotions.
Lucy, with her gothic sensibilities intact, had made a subtle change in her appearance. She still wore her signature dark clothing, but now she opted for a turtle neck instead, perhaps as a shield to protect herself from the pain that still lingered. Her eyes held a depth of sorrow, but also a glimmer of resilience.
Lori watched as her parents, Rita and Lynn Sr, engaged in yet another heated argument. The tension in the room was palpable, and it seemed as though their fighting had been going on for days. Rita, her messy blond hair disheveled and her eyes swollen from crying, wore an expression filled with a mix of anger and frustration. Lynn Sr, on the other hand, appeared weary and defeated, his usual jovial demeanor replaced by a sense of resignation.
As Lori observed her parents' turmoil, her heart ached for the once-loving couple who seemed to have lost their way. She longed for the days when their home was filled with laughter and warmth, but now it felt like a battlefield.
Turning her attention to her younger sister, Lisa, Lori saw a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos. Lisa, a budding scientist with a curious mind, had taken it upon herself to investigate the root cause of their downfall as a family, even though she lost her eyesight, as she was scratched from a wolf while searching for supplies in the forest, so she opted on wearing a cloth on her eyes as she deemed the glasses useless, she also has a tiny little bun on her head,
Lori's determination to protect her family grew stronger with each passing day. She knew that in order to put an end to the constant curse, she had to take matters into her own hands. Lisa, her younger sister, had recently lost her eyesight due to a tragic accident, leaving Lori as the primary caretaker and protector of their family.
With Lisa unable to see, Lori took on the responsibility of keeping track of the trackers on their phones. These trackers were their lifeline, allowing them to monitor each other's locations and ensure their safety. It was a heavy burden for a young girl, but Lori was determined to do whatever it took to bring peace back to their home.
One day, Lucy approached Lori with a glimmer of hope. Lucy had stumbled upon some information that hinted at a solution to their family's troubles. She believed that inside a mysterious mansion on the heart of the forest.
Lucy's determination was infectious, and Lori couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. She knew that this was the push they needed to uncover the truth and find a resolution. With a newfound sense of purpose, Lori embarked on a journey to the mansion, her heart filled with anticipation and trepidation.
Lori stood at the threshold of the mansion, her heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. She knew that she had to face whatever lay inside alone. The weight of her family's safety rested on her shoulders, and she couldn't bear the thought of anyone else getting hurt.
Rita looked at her with worry etched on her face. "Are you sure about this, honey?" she asked, her voice filled with concern. "I don't want you to go through this alone."
Lynn Sr. couldn't bear the thought of losing her. Fear gripped his voice as he shouted, "I'm going with you! We'll face whatever is in there together!"
Lori took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. She understood her family's concern, but she also knew that she had to protect them from any potential danger. "Dad, it's okay," she reassured him, her voice steady. "I promise I'll come back. Once I find this mansion and uncover the answers we seek, we'll know how to keep our family safe."
Tears welled up in Rita's eyes as she hugged Lori tightly. "Please be careful, my brave girl," she whispered, her voice filled with a mix of pride and worry.
Lori hugged her mother back, feeling a surge of determination. "I will, Mom. I'll do whatever it takes to protect our family and bring an end to this chaos."
With a final embrace, Lori stepped away from her family and into the forest, ready to face what lays ahead.
As she set off, Lori carried a bag slung over her shoulder, filled with essential supplies to sustain her during the journey. Inside the bag, she had packed food, water, a flashlight, a map, and a small first aid kit. She knew that she needed to be prepared for anything that might come her way.
The path to the mansion was long and winding, stretching through dense forests and overgrown trails. Lori walked for hours, her mind racing with possibilities and her senses heightened. Every rustle of leaves or snap of a twig made her heart skip a beat, but she knew she had to be strong and push forward.
Suddenly, as she was lost in her thoughts, Lori accidentally stepped on a fallen tree branch. The loud crack echoed through the quiet woods, startling her for a moment. Her heart raced as she imagined all sorts of creatures lurking in the shadows, but she quickly realized it was just a harmless branch. Taking a deep breath, she reassured herself that she needed to stay focused and continue on her journey.
With renewed determination, Lori pressed on, her footsteps steady and resolute. The path became increasingly treacherous, with steep inclines and slippery terrain, but she navigated through it with caution and perseverance. The weight of her family's safety propelled her forward, giving her the strength to overcome any obstacles in her way.
As the hours turned into what felt like an eternity, Lori's legs grew weary, and her body ached from the exertion. But she refused to let fatigue deter her. She knew that every step brought her closer to the answers she sought, and she couldn't afford to give up now.
Lori's heart pounded in her chest as she continued along the path, the atmosphere growing increasingly ominous. The once serene forest now felt suffocating, as if unseen eyes were watching her every move. She couldn't shake off the feeling of being followed, but she pressed on, determined to reach her destination.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a figure lunged at her from the shadows. Startled, Lori barely had time to react as the attacker, clad in a black hoodie and wearing a menacing black mask, pounced on her. In their hand gleamed a sharp, glinting knife, ready to strike.
Fear surged through Lori's veins as she instinctively fought back, her adrenaline pumping. She swung her arms wildly, desperately trying to fend off the mysterious assailant. The struggle was fierce, each movement fueled by a mix of terror and determination. But the attacker seemed relentless, their movements swift and calculated.
Lori's mind raced, trying to make sense of the situation. Who was this person? Why were they attacking her? Questions swirled in her head, but she had no time to find answers. All that mattered in that moment was survival.
As the struggle continued, Lori's arms began to weaken, fatigue setting in. The weight of the attacker's blows grew heavier, and her defense faltered. She fought with every ounce of strength she had left, but her body betrayed her, unable to withstand the relentless assault.
Pain seared through Lori's body as the attacker's knife found its mark. Agonizing screams escaped her lips, echoing through the desolate forest. She felt her strength wane, her vision blurring as darkness closed in around her.
In her last moments of consciousness, Lori's thoughts turned to her family. She hoped they would be safe, that they would find the strength to carry on without her. As her body went limp, her screams silenced, the forest swallowed her, leaving behind only a chilling silence and unanswered questions.
The mysterious figure, their identity still concealed, stood over Lori's lifeless body, a sinister smile hidden beneath the mask. With a cold and calculated demeanor,
Thr mysterious figure took out their knife and slashed her chest open, blood spilling out and onto their hands, the organs spilling from her body, they found Lori's heart... and ate it.
