15002. Jolly Rancher vodka is hereby added to the List of Banned Substances. It looks pretty, but can be lethal. Especially when used in combination with other drinks.
Akatsuki moved through the Naval Base with a purpose. After they'd come back from their most-recent bauxite mission, Tenryu had written up her report, but Tatsuta had dragged her off somewhere. So she tasked Akatsuki with delivering the report to Admiral Goto. Akatsuki left on her errand immediately; a True Lady always got things done in a timely manner.
She entered the anteroom to the Admiral's office and saw that it was empty. Everyone must still be at lunch, she mused.
Deciding to try the Admiral's office anyway, she knocked on the door, praying she wouldn't hear anything untoward going on in there. The last time she did, she made the mistake about asking Tenryu what kind of 'stern work' a mighty battlecruiser such as Kongo-san would need to have done in the Admiral's office, and Tenryu – nervous tic under her eye and all – told her she would explain things when DesDiv 6 was a bit older.
Akatsuki sighed. She hated it when Tenryu told her and her sisters that. They were old enough now!
There was silence behind the door. Not seeing any harm in turning the report in anyway, the little destroyer opened the door and went in. Placing the report in the center of Admiral Goto's desk – a True Lady always made certain her efforts were noticed immediately – she noticed a full pot of very dark coffee sitting in the corner, apparently having been freshly-brewed for Admiral Goto when he returned from lunch.
Ooh…coffee!
Running back into the anteroom, Akatsuki grabbed one of the Styrofoam cups out of the dispenser by the water cooler and headed back into Goto's office.
The Admiral won't mind if I swipe one cup…
The coffee disappeared quickly, leaving Akatsuki feeling…rejuvenated and ready for anything. She smirked as she went over to Admiral Goto's liquor cabinet.
I think I'll take a few samples before I leave here…
The first thing she laid eyes on was a bottle of brilliant blue liquid.
How pretty…
Akatsuki opened the top and took a whiff. The scent of blue raspberries assailed her, and she took a sip. Flavor exploded in her mouth, and there was really only one thing to say to that.
"Yum."

Over in the repair baths, light cruiser Atlanta eased herself into the bath, groaning in satisfaction as the repair fluid did its work. Once she was done here, she planned on surprising Akatsuki with a visit. For all their…past history, the two had ended up becoming good friends.
"Hello, Atlanta-chan."
The AA cruiser's eyes flew open. There stood Akatsuki.
A somehow-all-grown-up Akatsuki.
Dressed in the uniform of adorable-destroyer Akatsuki, which was now three sizes too small for her.
And giving Atlanta a positively hungry once-over, and Atlanta had a feeling she wasn't having a craving for a parfait at Mamiya's.
The destroyer – who now had a body that would tempt a saint – pulled a bottle of blue liquid from her cargo hold and took a big swig before seductively tossing back her bushy purple hair that now went all the way down to what Atlanta had to admit was a very nice stern.
"EEP!" Atlanta's blush went nuclear.
Akatsuki gave her a smirk that was borderline sinful and toed off her shoes before reaching up to loosen her tie.
"Mind if I join you?"
Atlanta uttered the only response she figured would be appropriate.
"KYYYAAAAHHHH!"
~~~
"So Jolly Rancher vodka is now a no-no," Admiral Goto sighed as he watched Kongo load the bottles of Green Apple, Grape, Cherry, and Watermelon into her hold.
"I think that's for the best, don't you?" Kongo replied. "Akatsuki and Atlanta are meant for each other eventually, but not for some years. Their BURNING LOVE! needs time to mature and blossom before they consummate it." She sighed. "But I must say, when the time comes they'll make beautiful children."
"But poor Atlanta…hasn't one of the American cruisers given her the 'birds and the bees' talk yet? She's certainly old enough to hear it."
Kongo giggled. "Oh, she's had the talk, all right. Arizona told me that she'd never seen a shipgirl blush so red! And don't worry about disciplining Akatsuki for her actions…Tenryu told me that the hangover she's going to have will definitely be punishment enough."
Goto thought about it for a moment, then shrugged. "That seems fair."
His fast battleship girlfriend gave him a mischievous grin. "Though, if you still wish to punish someone…perhaps the Headmaster can call the innocent schoolgirl to his office tonight for some 'extra credit work'?"
Goto smirked, then surprised Kongo by grabbing her long brown hair and jerking her head back. The gorgeous fast battleship gasped in pleased surprise.
"1930 hours in my private quarters, Miss Nakano…don't be even five minutes late or you'll get a spanking."
Judging by the squeal from 'Miss Nakano', Headmaster Goto figured punctuality had just gone right out the window.
And he didn't mind one bit.
