Do you know what is the scariest thing you have ever watched or witnessed, then you can do nothing about it? Well, I do.

It was night of 31 October, the perfect day for Halloween. Well, I only started to come on term with the day for a few reason: because of my friend was an enthusiast to it. She liked Halloween and each year, she invited me to share her interest. My already tired body, having just taken a singing practise today, felt unwilling to join again. I could at least feel that I could stay home, as she said she would be late today so she could not join the Halloween festival with me.

At least, that's what I originally assumed.

"Bing bong!" My house's bell rang. Still feeling tired, I could not help but I must walk out to see which person that just rang my home's bell. But when I just finally touched the door to open it, the voice, suddenly, surprised me.

"Yukina! Let's go for Halloween this year." I was so surprised. This voice was from none other but my best friend. Yes, Lisa, my friend since we were kids. Given it was just 7:30 P.M., it was still too early. But how did she return so fast? Probably because her work today finished earlier than expected. I was so tired but I didn't want to upset my friend at all.

"Lisa!" I smiled. We all played for one similar musical band, but that day, Sayo had her own business to handle with, whereas Ako and Rinko opted to share Halloween together separately, so it was up for only me and Lisa. Knowing how enthusiastic Lisa was, I could not help but expect to make some nominal change. Lisa was already in her uniform for the Halloween, wearing a pair of white cat ears on her head, a fairly simple outfit, as she still wore her casual pink T-shirt. Meanwhile, I also wore a witch hat only this time, because I also preferred to be simple.

I left my house at 8:00 P.M. and started venturing around the streets with all the "trick or treat" party. Of course, this was Tokyo, not Los Angeles or London, so we had a little difference here. We said "trick or treat", but we didn't give candies like how Westerners did. People liked to gather in populous area, to enjoy and take a taste of their Halloween. Halloween was still something foreign in Japan, as it turned out, since it was originally an Irish ceremony every October before spreading like now.

I and Lisa ventured around the city knowing that we had to enjoy to the fullest since it was about only two weeks left before Roselia have an upcoming concert. And this concert promised to be huge, so I could also seek an opportunity to find an inspiration for my taste. But I couldn't help feeling distracted by the beauty of Halloween this year, as people of different colours emerged to make it more fashionable. Lisa, no doubt, loved it. Still, it was in the central suburb, so generally it had always been popular to both domestic and foreign people.

"Née Yukina, your expression is weird, what's wrong?" Lisa suddenly asked me, and I came to realise that I was just feeling dizzy a bit. Yeah, while I did like the scene, I must remind to myself that I was very tired after the hard practise earlier. It was my personal training so I could not risk letting Lisa to know that I was tired.

"I'm fine, Lisa. But, I think we need to explore some new locations?" Ehhh? I just asked Lisa to explore new locations for Halloween? I knew I was tired but, exploring new locations was something I had never asked before. Unfortunately, when I had to decide I didn't want to disrupt Lisa's joy, I opted for this. Lisa didn't hesitate anyway. She then carried me, taking the subway to the southern suburb of Ota.

"There is an abandoned park there. Some Halloween seekers also used this park for the Halloween this year, at least to increase its scariness. Why don't you try?" Lisa suggested me to visit a park that was left abandoned over 10 years ago. This park lied in Ota, but it would be demolished the next month, so Lisa and I didn't have many times left. I had never been to this park before, although there were rumours that it was originally a purposed Halloween park that was, unfortunately, not feasible and the owner went bankrupt after managing the park. Despite having never been to it, I started to feel something not right, even when I tried to calm myself. It was abandoned, you know?

The park, only existed on Google Map and some few photos that depicted its despair state, there's a scary zig-zag tramway, a house of ghostly mirrors, a lake filled with blood, a tunnel leading to a tomb, and a house full of zombies. Of course, they were all fake, but looking at this abandoned pile, I felt sorry for a Halloween park that had potential but eventually lost money and went bankrupt, and then fell into this situation. If I had been a manager there, I would have also felt the same. But with Lisa, she found it could be a solution to ignite my love for Halloween so it was no surprise why she dragged me to this haunting place. It now only existed in memory and people were advised to avoid it. I wished I had been as positive as Lisa.

Lisa and I finally arrived to the park. Lied close to Tokyo Bay of the Ota City, the despaired Halloween park, or the park as it should be, had been left abandoned for ten years, true to its situation. This park was currently decorated a bit to welcome Halloween, but as Lisa and I noticed, this would be the last day of the park. Tomorrow, it would be blockaded and destroyed, who would use the later destroyed park to be decided.

At the same time, I must remember that I was part of Roselia, a Gothic-like band. People tended to associate Goth with scary things, so naturally Goth lovers had some fondness to it. Of course, not everyone agreed, but I could not stop questioning if the destination was too empty and dark for a festival already filled with darkness like Halloween. But Lisa comforted me on this day, as if she might have known something about my problem. I didn't even inform her about my secret voice training, because I wanted concentration at the fullest. Anyway, I tried to explore the park as much as possible because it was the last time we could see this abandoned park. I also wished to go back home this time, so I could get a good sleep.

"How do you feel, Yukina?" said Lisa, standing in the abandoned rollercoaster wheel.

"Uh, I am good." I was not that stupid. Standing in front of the abandoned ghost house, I found a strange beauty of the failed park. It was built in a traditional Gothic style, resembling a castle in the making. So sad that it didn't manage to live on.

Urgh, the whole park made me feel colder and I became impatient. I tried to find some air because I could not stand further. But for some reasons, my sense of interests suddenly awoke when I looked at the underground tunnel of the park. This tunnel was a strange one, because I didn't remember it was here. In fact, nobody mentioned about the tunnel at all, as if it hadn't existed. The people that visited this abandoned park might have not expected about the tunnel at all. But who exactly built it? The previous contractor? Or someone else? Given the mentioning of the park didn't include this, I had a sense of wary. But my curiosity ended up triumphing my mind, and I decided to go down, unknown if Lisa had also gone down or not.

I opened my iPhone's light, trying to figure out what's underground inside this scary park. One hand, I held the phone as it was my only source of light. Another hand, it was an intriguing feeling of darkness, because nobody had ever been here. I was the first. In here, there was a poster of Luis Suárez, the Uruguayan footballer, but depicted as a vampire who killed and bit people. I did hear about that man's biting habit, but I preferred to ignore as much as I could. In my mind, I considered it a bloke by some insane football fan.

But the more I walked on, I found it even more and more abnormal and deeply fearful for my life. I saw some types of needles, papers related to girls, fashion, as well as female models and even headless female mannequins. There were also even short of portraits of figures that were long associated with violence like Pablo Escobar or El Chapo, as well as some mysterious white powder scattered along the tunnel's path. I never knew this Halloween could have some insane people like this. I only wanted to leave, to escape, as soon as possible.

Suddenly, I stepped on something different. It felt heavy and very iron, unlike the stony path of the tunnel. Turning the light further, it was … a railway. And there were a lot of … red dots. But they were not simply … paints. They were blood! Real blood! And it was still fresh. I didn't understand who did this. Was this person hurt, wounded, or either there was a murder here? I didn't get it at all. Still, I had to take all of my courage to move on and I kept walking into the rail line, wondering if anyone had tried to build here, despite the cold.

So be it.

I kept moving on and on and on, like heading to the unknown. The blood track became more and more relevant, as I still tried to find out what happened behind the scene. I was sure that Lisa definitely knew I was not at the park anymore, so she could have headed home. It would be better for her not to enter this freaking tunnel. But the feeling became more and more intense when I appeared to see something more and more relevant. It was bigger and more recognisable. It lied on the rail, and it was …

A cart! A rail cart modelled after the 19th century gold rush in America. I wonder who brought it there, because it was not even mentioned at all. My stoic appearance suddenly found no sense anymore, because this could be something else. The blood trail ended there, so this must be the end and something wrong must have occurred. I knew it should be investigated, but I must make it quick because, any wrong step could result in unpredictable circumstance. So I walked slowly to the cart and looked onto it, even if I wished it had been fake.

"Hello, are you okay?" I looked at the cart on the tracks, trying to calm myself as it became darker. First, I saw a body, it was a girl, and looking through her skin, she was very young, the same age as us. Her body laid with her back facing me, her legs stretched out in the stroller and her arms intact with her slim body. She also wore a pink T-shirt, two bracelets on her left wrist, a brown wristwatch on her right wrist, a golden necklace and ripped short denim shorts. Plus, she had black knee-high boots as well. The next, however, terrified me …

"Li … Li … It can't be?" My reaction was a feeling of shock. The body looked exactly like … well, except that I looked to the neck. What I saw instead, was a huge circle around the neck, surrounding the smaller white circle. And a series of red drops of water flowed down the cart from that circle. I became scared when I felt that I had seen something so terrible.

It was … human blood. And it came from a girl. Because of her clothing, I soon came to a conclusion with my heart completely lost out: it was Lisa Imai! And she … she was beheaded by an unknown assailant. Lisa Imai was decapitated! I didn't see her head, but her body still lied there. This Halloween was the worst, I could not stand it …

"No! It can't be! Lisa! Who had done this to you? It was so cruel!" I could not stop holding my tears. It was terrible. My best friend lost her head and she lied entirely here. I wanted to take back Lisa's body home and gave her a proper burial. But I needed to know where her head was lying. I should have prevented her from going Halloween. I should have been honest about it. Now I only saw a headless body lying inside the cart of the tracks. I felt so guilty about it. I scrambled using iPhone's light in search for Lisa's head. I looked around, seeing only rats and cockroaches, the sense was unbearable.

"Where is Lisa's head? I need it!" I still looked for Lisa's head in a desperate search, hoping to see anything new. I even looked at the smaller underground pipes to see where Lisa's head was and then brought it back for burial. And finally, after running for a while without ignoring the headless body of Lisa, I found a small pipe on the left, just 50 metres away from the cart. There was something … very much on it. A quite big one, an object that I would have hoped to take it out.

Yet when I had yet to take it out, I heard some weird voices. That voice reached closer and closer to my ears. And that voice … it was not native. It was a foreign voice. Not a Japanese, but by somebody else. I believed that person, that man, could be the murderer that decapitated Lisa Imai and was on a run to dispossess the headless body. So I could, only at best, take some photos of it and … the headless body of Lisa Imai, before running away. I didn't want to stay in this scary place anymore, and ran away as fast as possible. I kept running, running and running, …

… and still kept running …

… and still kept running …

… and …

… and …

… and …

… I …

I surprisingly woke up. I thought it was a bad Halloween dream. I didn't even know what happened, but … the sun had already risen and I didn't want to even ask. I still had a nightmare on it. So I turned up my iPhone, hoping to confirm it was not true. But these photos I later found … was horrific.

The decapitated body, the hands, the feet, the clothes, and even the bloody neck, as well as the supposed object I found in a small pipe left to the tunnel just 50 metres away from the body …

I didn't believe it, to a point that I dropped my iPhone. I was … I was so shocked, shocked to a point I could not take it. I feared that what I just saw … might not be a dream, but it was … real. So I ran immediately to the door, trying to confirm it was not true. I ran as fast as I could for the doorknob, with hope fading after an incident that would likely mean I would never see Lisa again. And yes … I ran to it.

And when I opened, I saw the light of the sun shone again, and the person standing in front of me, said with a very clear, calm voice.

"Yukina? Are you … okay?"

"Lisa?"

This could not be mistaken anyway. She still wore the same pink T-shirt as she did last night. The voice was undisputedly similar. She still wore the same clothes like last night, except removing her cat ears. I tried to touch on her hair, her face, her body, and even her feet. Her reaction was also shocking to see me touching on her body as well. Especially when she saw how I kept looking at her neck, as if her head had been suddenly retrieved and reconnected to her body like nothing happened.

"Lisa? I thought … you have died …" I could not hold my tears. It was a feeling of pain and suddenly being liberated because I thought she was dead. Just yesterday I saw a headless girl lying on a blood-stained stroller on an underground railway track in an abandoned park. She was dressed exactly like my friend, but now that I looked back, I was shocked that my friend, thought to have died on that Halloween night, suddenly came back to life and was still safe. This time, I hugged her, with a sign of relief and with tears flew from my eyes again, with joy.

"Lisa … please don't leave me again. Roselia cannot exist without you."

Lisa also shouted a lot, too. She asked me that "why did you leave without telling me?", made me feel guilty for not informing her and that she was still safe by now. She was definitely worried about me, too; she didn't realise I was in the underground tunnel of the abandoned park, and she thought I had left the park so she left quickly, fearful of what happened next. She could not contact me because I was underground, without signal anyway. In the end, she knew me and I knew her, and we promised never abandon each other.

So, who was the headless body that I found in the tunnel, and why that unfortunate girl looked exactly similar to Lisa Imai? I guessed only the TV could explain it, a scary doppelgänger moment that day.

"Today, police had arrested Abdullah Ahmed Al-Zobi, a Yemeni-Jordanian citizen, who was charged of high-level murder. Al-Zobi was found to have decapitated a girl in Ota City's abandoned park near Tokyo Bay."

"The girl itself, a university student also in the Kanto region, is from Cambodia. She was long described as a beautiful model by class and was persuading high-level education in Japan when she was savagely murdered by Al-Zobi. Police believed his motivation was due to her refusal to become his boyfriend due to perceived lack of concrete education."

"Abdullah Ahmed Al-Zobi, born in an impoverished Yemeni family in Hadhramut, migrated to Jordan with his mother when he was ten and was subsequently given Jordanian citizenship. He later persuaded high education in Japan after being granted scholarship in the University of Jordan in Amman."

"The Jordanian embassy in Tokyo has been informed of the event, and the chief of Jordanian police force in Amman has explained that Al-Zobi 'already suffered emotional distress' long before moving to Japan for scholarship reasons."

"The Cambodian embassy in Tokyo has also cooperated and is working to retrieve the body of the young girl back to take care of the funeral for the unfortunate girl who was beheaded in Ota City."

"Al-Zobi's extended relatives in Jordan have also been put to investigation over ties to radicalism due to their upbringings. While the murder might have been more about romance, Al-Zobi's ruthless methods bear significant marks to ISIL members and there were suspicions that Al-Zobi's brother Muftar might have fought for the group for a while."

"Chheng Bony, representative of the Cambodian embassy in Tokyo, said that he wished the Jordanian and Japanese counterparts to make concrete investigation."

"Japan will tighten visa regulations for foreign students to avoid similar accidents."
