"Come on." She heard her girlfriend say from the trap door. "It's time for a break, Marinette. You've been at that project all morning. Let's go for coffee."

Marinette looked up from the top she was sewing. She sighed as she knew Zoe was right. "Alright, give me five minutes and we can go."

Zoe nodded and Marinette got up and headed into the bathroom. She splashed some water on her face after washing her hands and went out to join Zoe and they headed out together. She smiled as her partner linked their hands together.

"Sorry, sometimes I just get so focused on my work."

Zoe hummed and swung their hands as they walked. "I know, and I love how focused you are. But that is why you have me. I'll look out for you."

Marinette stopped and pulled her into a deep kiss. She felt Zoe wrap her arms around her as they expressed their passion. They finally broke apart and blushed. They continued onto the cafe but were snuggled against each other as they went. They arrived to find Helen cleaning a mug.

"Hello, ladies. I've heard you two were pretty busy this last month. Including having a super villain target you."

Zoe giggled. "Yeah, that did happen. She was likely jealous that I snatched up one of the most eligible girls in Paris."

Marinette rolled her eyes as Helen got their usuals started. They sat down at their usual table. Marinette looked around. "It seems so long ago that we sat here and you told me you loved me." She started. "It was just twenty-nine days ago now. I cannot imagine going back to not being with you."

Zoe blushed and wiped a tear from her eye. "I couldn't imagine life without you either, Marinette. I love you so much."

"I love you too." They shared a much shorter kiss than their last one as Helen approached with their drinks.

"Here you go, sweeties. Also, just so you know, some of the other customers are complaining of toothache. Can you dial back the cuteness a little?" She winked as the cafe was otherwise empty.

Marinette giggled and tossed a napkin at Helen. "We're being bribed by their dentists. We need that money, sorry Helen."

Helen threw her hands up in the air in mock despair. "I tried. Enjoy your coffees bought with your teeth money."

They laughed harder at this. Zoe turned back to her. "Ready for tomorrow? I know our costumes are ready and I think we have the contest in the bag. But I mean after."

Marinette linked their hands over the table. "If you're asking if I have second thoughts, the answer is no. I want you Zoe, in every way possible. I'm ready for the next step in our relationship. This is not something I will ever regret sharing with you."

Zoe smiled and pressed Marinette's left hand to her cheek. "I understand. I guess it just feels so surreal. We have gotten so close over the last few weeks and are planning on giving all of ourselves to each other. I guess I'm just afraid this is one elaborate dream and I'll wake up right as we start."

Marinette rubbed her girlfriend's cheek. "No dream. You'll see on November 1st when we wake up after becoming lovers. I swear."

Zoe smiled brightly. "Tomorrow. I'm so excited."

They finished their coffees and rose, bidding Helen goodbye. They headed back towards Marinette's house as the wind started to pick up. Dark clouds were blowing in from the north and brought a bite to the wind with it.

"We better get in." Marinette teased as she poked Zoe's shoulder. "Looks like a cold rain is coming, my pretty bee."

Zoe shivered. "Yes, let's hurry."

They picked up their pace and were nearly at the Bakery when the clouds opened and completely soaked the couple. They got inside, dripping wet.

"Come on, let's go and change." Marinette's teeth chattered as they headed up the stairs. They heard her mother's voice float to them from the kitchen.

"Welcome back girls. Once your dry and changed, come down. I made Cocoa."

Soon they were snuggled on the couch, steaming mugs in hand as they watched the rain pour on the city. Zoe snuggled into he side, hiding from the cold and the wet. Marinette smiled. Everything was perfect.
