DragonKing144: Do you have any idea how hard it is to update a story when there's no email notifications popping up and Fanfics having it's problems?
XTCViper: Thanks.
Disclaimer: I do not own WWE. I only own the OC George Edwards/The Bladewolf.
SmackDown was still going, with the current match about to begin being Kane vs Chris Benoit. George was backstage, getting his gear into his duffel bag seeing as there was nothing else for him to do tonight which meant he had the time to take Trish out to dinner like he had asked before the start of the show. A part of him was nervous since he hadn't been on a date in a while... heck, his last relationship didn't work out due to his desire to be a professional wrestler.
But with Trish... it was different. Maybe it's because she was a wrestler like him, though he doubted it was just because of that. Trish was nice, funny, smart, beautiful... Jack was right, she had all the good qualities a man liked in a woman, and not just because of her beauty. When George first saw her, he'll admit he felt like he was looking at the most beautiful woman in the world... and he's had drunk sex with Sable, then Sunny a few years ago.
God, he hoped this worked.
"Hey!" He snapped his head up upon hearing Trish's voice and looked to see her entering the locker room dressed in a pair of light-blue trousers, a white short-sleeved top and a white blouse over that. She had her own bag containing her ring gear over her shoulder. "Ready?"
Unable to help himself, George asked. "For dinner or to leave?"
"Yes." Trish replied with a grin, making George chuckle before they left the locker room. "Be honest... when's the last time you went out on a date with a woman, because you're way too nervous?"
"Not since 1997." George exhaled, deciding the truth was better than lying about it. "I've never had the best of luck when it comes to relationships. A girl in high school that I had a crush on and was with for a couple of months ended up cheating on me with a member of the Football team. I tried again as I was getting into my wrestling career, but due to how long I was gone and on the road, travelling to event after event on the Independant scene... she broke it off with me. That was... early 1997 I believe."
"Three years, huh?" Trish said sympathetically, getting a shrug from him. She patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, I ain't like those dumb bitches. Honestly, if they could see how successful you've become, they'd no doubt be regretting that they fucked with you."
George snorted and gave her an amused look. "You make it sound like they were thugs who messed with me, but I understand what you're saying. Anyway, enough about my past and bad memories. That's not how you start a date."
"Oh, so it's began already?" Trish asked with a smile while they signed out at the checkpoint and went through to the parking lot after saying their goodbyes to the guy at the checkout area. "Least wait until we've left the arena to have the date officially begin."
"Shush." George playfully told her as they walked over to his car and he opened the boot. "God, I need to get a better car. I earn a lot of fucking money from this job, enough to buy a better car than this shit thing and I've never gotten around to doing it."
"Come on, this isn't that bad." Trish said in defence of his current ride. "Look, the last thing you want is to show off how much money you're earning from being a professional wrestler, then driving around like you're some hotshot street racer or something."
George blinked then hummed. "You know, I hear there's going to be a film released next June, called The Fast and the Furious."
"And it's a film about street racing." Trish sighed with a small smile. "Okay, before you even ask the question... yes, I'll go with you to see it. We're still going to see X-Men in August though, right?"
"Oh hell yeah." George nodded with a smile.
Once their stuff was loaded, they got into the car and George drove out of the parking lot and onto the road. Rather than just go back to the hotel that they, along with the other wrestlers, were booked into until they had to sign out before they could leave and go to the next city for a Live show at the weekend, George and Trish headed further into the city to find a nice place where they could have dinner together.
Soon enough, they found a restaurant after Trish had to go on her phone and search up the best place in Chicago, which was a restaurant named Alinea. Parking outside, George and Trish soon made their way into the building and got their seats, though George pulled Trish's out for her.
"Such a gentleman." Trish giggled as she sat down and George sat across from her. The waiter soon came up to them and they ordered their food and drink, making casual chit-chat while waiting for their orders.
"So, you enjoying working with me?" George asked, just to start a conversation while he glanced around. He grimaced when he noticed people not-so-subtly pointing at him and Trish, then whispering to each other. No doubt they were recognized from their time on TV. He just hoped none of them came over and interrupted the date with constant questions and asking for autographs and pictures. George wasn't much of a people person, well he couldn't stand being around in very large groups of people.
trish nodded. "I am. If I hadn't, I'd have gone to Vince and asked for something else already or just stuck with being in T&A. I'm still amazed how we're making it work on-screen. I mean, the Bladewolf with a manager... a girlfriend? Earlier this year, all everyone saw of himw as a masked man who was silent and had no care for anyone else."
"Harsh." George mock frowned with hurt, but she just cheekily winked at him. "But accurate. I suppose it was time for a change to my character, though the whole relationship bit on screen was Vince's idea. Guess he wanted to bring something unexpected to the table when it concerns the Bladewolf, but still keep him as he is. I'm trying to have him fit in more with the changes in the WWF, something like what Mark's doing. There's a reason I try to make Bladewolf a mix of Undertaker and Kane but with my own added originality to it."
Trish nodded. "And obviously the more you change, I'll have to change with you. Everyone's calling Trish Stratus the Devilish Vixen because of her actions the past couple of weeks by us interrupting or distracting the Hardy Boyz."
"Suits you though." George pointed out, making her smile. Their food and drinks soon arrived and they began to eat. "So, you and Amy planned that little brawl of yours because I was sure surprised to turn around and see you fighting."
"Who says it's just the men who should fight?" Trish asked jokingly. "I figured it both sides should brawl, so Amy and I met up and agreed to have a brawl while you're busy dismantiling Jeff and Matt. Not sure if it'll lead to a match, though i would be happy if we do get a chance to perform in the ring together. After all, you've been training me to have a better arsenal and I have your permission to use some of your moves."
"Unlike what me and Glenn did when we got here, using the Chokeslam and Tombstone just to mess with Mark because we didn't have his position to do so." George said with a fond chuckle. "But considering who our storyline characters are, he agreed that it made sense for us to continue using them, though of course we tried our own thing as everyone's noticed with me and debuting a couple of new finishers."
"I really like that new one, the Hell's End." Trish said, getting a smile from George. "But nothing will beat the Chokeslam, the Tombstone and the Fury of the Wolf that you do. So don't forget to use them at least once in a match, or twice."
"Yes ma'am." George said with a mock salute.
The date went well, very well actually. There wasn't that many interaction with fans, save for a couple of young nervous kids that either a picture or autograph. George consented, seeing as they were abiut six or seven years old and were wearing Bladewolf shirts. He and Trish took the pictures and let them be on their way before returning to dinner and making more conversation about their personal lives outside of their work.
Once they finished up, they drove back to the hotel and made their way to the floor their respective rooms were on.
"I enjoyed tonight." Trish said as they came to a stop at the room that was hers. "Really."
"So did I." George said with a smile. Tonight went better than he hoped. "Is... is there hope for a second date?"
Trish smiled at him before she reached up, wrapped her arms around the back of his neck, and pulled him down to place a chaste kiss on his lips that was held for six seconds before she pulled away, giggling at George's stupefied expression.
"How's that for an answer?" Trish asked before she unlocked her door and entered, adding a sway in her hips as she walked before turning and blew him a kiss then shut the door.
George exhaled and finally came out of his stupefied state and made his way towards his own room.
Yeah, better than he had hoped...
And that's it for this chapter, and George and Trish's relationship off-screen has taken off after their first date.
