WWF King of the Ring was live at the Fleet Center in Boston, Massachusetts. The first match that aired live on pay-per-view was a King of the Ring tournament quarter-final match between Rikishi and Chris Benoit. Rikishi dominated most of the match until Benoit started using submission maneuvers. He locked in the Crippler Crossface on Rikishi, who caught hold of the ropes. Benoit released the hold but hit Rikishi with a chair and was disqualified, allowing Rikishi to advance to the semi-finals. However, Benoit continued to attack Rikishi with the chair and applied another Crossface on Rikishi.

The next match in the quarter-final round was between Eddie Guerrero and Val Venis. Guerrero and Venis traded momentum back and forth during the match. In the closing moments of the match, Venis tried to hit a Money Shot on Guerrero but Guerrero blocked the move. Venis scored the pinfall following a fisherman's suplex.

The quarter-final round continued pitting Bull Buchanan against Crash Holly. Buchanan dominated most of the match and due to his bigger size, Buchanan easily performed his moves on Holly. Buchanan tried to finish Holly with a Scissors Kick, but Holly ducked the move and pinned Buchanan with a roll-up to win the match.

The final match in the quarter-final round was between Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho. Jericho dominated the early part of the match until Angle got the momentum. Angle continued to perform his moves on Jericho until Jericho regained momentum. In the closing moments of the match, Angle attempted to hit the Angle Slam on Jericho, but Jericho avoided the move and locked Angle in the Walls of Jericho. The WWF Women's Champion Stephanie McMahon then interfered in the match and distracted the referee. Angle tapped out to Walls of Jericho but the referee was distracted. Jericho released the hold and knocked out the referee. Stephanie tried to hit Jericho with the Women's Championship belt but Jericho ducked and Angle was hit instead. Jericho then kissed Stephanie but Angle got the advantage and hit an Angle Slam on Jericho for the victory.

The next match was a Triple Threat Tag Team matchy for the WWF Tag Team Championship as the champions Too Cool (Grand Master Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) defended the titles against Edge and Christian and T & A (Test and Albert). T & A were out of the match mostly after a Spear from Edge to Test, then one to . The match went back and forth until Too Cool began to dominate the challengers and seemed to have the match won when Sexay hit Edge with a Hip-Hop Drop and tried to pin Edge but there was no referee present. Christian took advantage and hit Sexay with a tag team championship title belt, allowing Edge to pin Sexay for the Tag Team Championship.

Next up was The Bladewolf vs The Hardy Boyz in a Two-on-One No Holds Barred Handicap match.

In the arena, the Hardy Boyz' theme hit to a pop from the crowd as Matt and Jeff came out with Lita at their side, a common sight these days. "The following contest is a Two-on-One No Holds Barred Handicap match!" Howard Finkel announced. "Making their way to the ring, being accompanied by Lita... MATT & JEFF: THE HARDY BOYZ!"

"Well, King, we're going to see quite a fight tonight." JR said. "The Hardys will need to come up with anything and do everything they can to keep the Bladewolf down and win tonight."

"That they will, JR, and this rivalry has become so heated these last few weeks." Jerry said.

JR nodded. "This all started when the Bladewolf targeted the Hardy Boyz the night after he returned at Judgment Day, and since then it's only become more heated between them until this match was made tonight." He shakes his head. "But with it being No Holds Barred... that's practically giving the Bladewolf free reigns to do whatever he wants to Matt and Jeff Hardy, and we know what he can do when there's no rules."

"Oh yeah." Jerry nodded. "Just look at Cactus Jack at the Royal Rumble this year!"

"How can I forget?" JR rolled his eyes.

The Hardy Boyz and Lita enter the ring, posing on the turnbuckles and ring ropes before their theme dies down and they wait for the arrival of their opponent.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

I bring the Darkness (End of Days) by Jim Johnston plays as the Bladewolf walks out with Trish Stratus at his side, earning a mixed reaction from the fans. The couple start making their way down to the ring.

"And their opponent, accompanied by Trish Stratus. From Death Valley, weighing 310 lbs... THE BLADEWOLF!" Howard Finkel announced before leaving the ring.

"And here comes the man who's so different as of late. He's more ruthless and aggressive, and not a lot of people are able to get over the change he's gone through since we last saw him." JR said. "We're all used to seeing this masked, giant of a man who'd destroy anyone without even saying a word."

"Well, he couldn't exactly be Michael Myers forever, JR." Jerry joked. "He's gotta do something different."

"Don't think Bladewolf really cares, but it's a change nobody expected." JR shakes his head. "He's still ruthless, remorseless and doesn't care about anybody or anything save for that devilish vixen at his side."

"Devilish? No. A vixen? Yes. Trish is hot!" Jerry said.

Bladewolf stopped at the end of the ramp with Trish, staring at Matt and Jeff before he takes off his vest and tosses it aside then pecks Trish's lips before he rolls into the ring... AND THE HARDY BOYZ ATTACK RIGHT AWAY!

"Here we go!" JR exclaimed as the referee called for the bell.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

"The Hardy Boyz don't want to wait, they want to get this started!" JR said as Matt and Jeff continue hammering away on the Bladewolf, who covers up. "Which is smart! Attack the Bladewolf when he least expects it, keep it up but don't get too caught up in the attack or he'll take control in an instant."

"Bit unfair though, the Bladewolf didn't even get into the ring yet!" Jerry frowned, not liking the Hardys' actions.

Matt and Jeff bring Bladewolf out the corner and against the ropes, where they Irish whip him into the opposite. Bladewolf bounces off, ducks a double clothesline attempt from the Hardys who turn around only to be taken down with a double clothesline.

"And just like that, the Bladewolf shifts the match to his favour." JR said as the Bladewolf stomps on Jeff, then grabs Matt and tosses him into the corner, unloading with a series of lefts and rights. "Now the Bladewolf, with the rights and lefts to the midsection of Matt Hardy!"

"Look at him go!" Jerrt exclaimed.

Bladewolf finishes his assault with a huge uppercut. "What an uppercut!" JR said. Jeff pounces on Bladewolf from behind, trying to lock in a Sleeper Hold. "And now Jeff Hardt from behind... trying to get a Sleeper locked in here as Bladewolf tires to fight him off."

Matt recovers from the uppercut and kicks Bladewolf in the stomach, forcing the big man to a knee. Jeff slides off Bladewolf's back and together, both Hardys grab the Bladewolf... AND NAIL A DOUBLE DDT!

"Double DDT!" JR exclaimed over the cheers as Matt hooks the leg while Jeff gets out onto the ring apron. "The cover!"

"One!"

"Two-!"

Bladewolf kicks out at two.

"And the Bladewolf kicks out." JR said.

"Oh man, it'll take a lot more than that to keep that man down." Jerry said with a shake of his head.

Matt pulls Bladewolf to his feet when the 2-time WWF Champion wraps his arms around Matt, lifts him off his feet and runs, ramming him into the corner hard.

"Oh!" Jerry winced.

"Bladewolf picking Matt Hardy up and ramming him into the corner." JR added. Bladewolf lands a headbutt. "Oh, what a headbutt."

Trish, who had been outside the ring, had quickly looked underneath it and pulled out a steel chair before sliding it into the ring which cught Bladewolf's attention as he picked the chair up.

"Look at Trish!" Jerry pointed.

"Oh no." JR said upon seeing Bladewolf pick up the chair. Jeff Hardy runs in... BUT GETS CRACKED OCER THE SKULL WITH THE CHAIR! "Oh! What a sickening chair shot!"

"I felt that!" Jerry said, rubbing his forehead.

Bladewolf rears the chair back... AND SMACKS IT OFF MATT HARDY'S SKULL!

"And a chair shot to Matt Hardy!" JR said. Trish smiled gleefully outside the ring. "And that devilish witch, Trish Stratus, loves it!"

"Witch? She's no witch!" Jerry frowned at his broadcast partner. "It's no DQ, JR, and-look out!"

Lita, who had ran around the ring, tackles Trish down and the two women start brawling with each other much to the delight of the male fans who whistled at the catfight going on.

"Catfight again!" Jerry shouted.

"Trish and Lita getting it on now!" JR nodded.

In the ring, Bladewolf dropped the chair before raising his right hand as Jeff Hardy stumbled to his feet and turned... INTO A GOOZLE! Bladewolf lifts Hardy up... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!

"Chokeslam!" JR exclaimed.

Bladewolf adjusts the chair's position before he grabs a stumbling Matt Hardy and... HITS THE HELL's END ON THE CHAIR!

"Oh God!" Jerry winced.

"The Hell's End on the chair!" JR said. Bladewolf rolls Hardy over and hooks the legs. "Hook of the legs!"

"One!"

"Two!"

"Three! Ring the bell!" The referee called.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

I Bring the Darkness (End of Days) plays as Bladewolf gets to his feet. "Here is your winner... THE BLADEWOLF!"

"What dominance by the former WWF Champion!" JR said as Bladewolf rolls out the ring and pulls Trish away from Lita, the couple backing up to the stage...

And that's it for this chapter everyone. I hope you all enjoyed it.
