Review Shoutouts

The Storyteller993 – Yeah, you'll find that no matter who's his love interest; Nagamasa is going to be the aggressor in the situation or he'll take the lead.

Sorry about Yamato, but this is the for sake of streamlining the story. But if you have any ideas; you can always PM me with them and we can talk about it.

And yeah since Nagamasa lives with both of them; it makes sense for him to get them out of the way first.

The embodiment of weirdness – Yeah sorry for the hiatus before, but I'm back in action because of this series. Hope you'll enjoy my Kazuko route. Thanks for enjoying this story and hope for your continued support.

Cloud4012 – I'm glad you enjoyed it but I've already chosen the next route but it's Kazuko, but don't worry one of those two you asked for will be next afterwards.

ElBurritoBandido – While I'm glad you enjoyed it, like other people said this IS the end of the Momoyo Route since I'd been covering the Majikoi S After Story too, not just the AS from the first game.

So next up like I said is Kazuko, and I have a few ideas yeah…

Majikoi – Love Me Seriously - Kazuko Route

Daughter of Kawakami – Part 1

The Energetic Mascot

May 7th, 2009, Thursday

In the 2-F Classroom—

"Push-ing! Ever! On-ward!" Kazuko then repeats it again as she's devoting herself to her training even at school while doing squats.

"Wanko-chan, do you know what that saying means?" The class rep, Mayo asks.

Wanko answers, "Of course! If somethin' unexpected happens, I just have to keep pushing myself!"

"You're doing squats, and like, aren't those kinda dangerous, scientifically speaking?" Chika then asks her.

"Well it really puts the pressure on the knees, but the really dangerous ones are bunny hops? But still do them at the Kawakami Temple." Wanko replies.

"Wow, the little one's workin' hard." Gakuto comments.

"Class is starting soon, Wanko." Moro tells her.

"Did you make sure to do your homework, Dog?" Chris asks her.

"Huh? What're you talking about?" Wanko seemed confused.

"It was Japanese History, Kazuko. It was questions on the Kamakura Period. I even reminded you, don't tell you forgot?" I tell her.

"Whoops, sorry! I completely forgot!" Wanko panicked.

"I am frustrated by his tendency to assign non-Heian periods as homework." Chris said.

"Especially for you Chris, since you could use a better understanding of modern history too." Moro said honestly. Wow, and he wonders why no girl would want that. There's honesty, then there's that.

"Such as the Warring States period? I would certainly love to learn more about that." Chris replied.

"You'd call the 16th century 'modern?'" Moro said surprised.

"Well given the fact we have more mounments and sights around Japan dedicated to the Sengoku era, I think it would make sense that there's at least a legacy that it left behind on Japan even now." I put in my own piece.

"Yes, I agree. I would love to hear stories and tales of how samurai fought valiantly to the end like Yukimura Sanada…" Chris said with a slight smile.

Meanwhile, Wanko was still panicking, "Awawawa. W-what should I do?"

"Umm…" We saw her glance at mine and Miyako's way.

"Hmm…" Miyako notices Wanko's pleading glances.

"I-I'm in big trouble…" Wanko whines.

But Miyako ever the sadistic tease, "So what?"

"Awww… Fine, I'll spit it out. Please can one of you show me your homework?" Wanko looks to both of us.

"If we must… You truly want to see it? You're that greedy?" Miyako asks her.

"Yep, yep!" Wow, such honesty!

"Alright, here." Both Miyako and I hand our homework to Miyako. For Miyako and I we surprisingly get along well, despite her newfound crush on me, she doesn't seem to go head first and we can have normal conversations.

Like when we get to school sometimes we'll compare homework answers to make sure things are correct. One of the few normal things we do besides talk about books and such.

"Yay!" And Wanko goes off happily to copy it.

"How dare you two commit such injustice before my watchful eyes." Chris looked at us pointedly.

"Chris, calm down, it's fine." I say to her with an honest smile.

"D-Do not talk to me with such an honest face…" She seems taken aback by my looks.

With Chris, sometimes even when she's tense buttering her up seems to calm her down. It's mostly the right tact to pull with her.

"We're just trying to make sure she doesn't get in trouble. It's not like we're passing her answers to an exam or quiz. But the homework does have some fundamentals she needs. I'll be giving her some supplemental homework when we get back to the Temple." I tell her.

"Well if you're being that careful, I shall be lenient." Chris seems to back down.

"Huh? But I want to train…" Wanko whines.

"It would be embarrassing if you didn't know this stuff." I then 'smile' at Kazuko, "And you wouldn't want to embarrass yourself, right?"

Wanko trembles, "Wawawa! I can see your sadism plain as day… I-I'll do it!"

"You've been very strict with her Nagamasa. You're like a stern father now like Yamato would." Miyako points out.

"Sure I give her chances, but I wouldn't be so strict if her 'mother' wouldn't indulge her." I shoot back.

"But I'm pretty sure Onee-sama or Capt don't do their homework." Wanko points out.

"And they're both bad examples and bad role models." I tell her.

"Mm-hm. Make sure to learn the basics." Miyako now tells her.

Wanko shrinks before both of us, "Mommy and daddy, you're both super scary."

"I'm enjoying this realistic game of house. I would even play it permanently." Miyako smiles at me.

"Maybe in another route… but I like my sanity." I think to myself. But still Wanko is silently working at copying our homework.

"What you're doing is depressing, yet here is an adorableness to seeing you work." Oh, Chris them's is fighting words.

"Whoa, you actually complimented her?" Not really Gakuto.

"I do like cute things, after all." Chris replies.

Wanko seemed a bit insulted, "Y-You don't get to call me a 'thing'. What should I do, Tactician Yamato, Nagamasa?"

"Show her the parts of you that aren't remotely cute." Yamato suggested.

"Or maybe show her you're a grown up?" I suggested.

"O-Oh. Then I'll prove to her I'm an adult!" And so off she went to show off her "adultness."

"This is not gonna end well." I tell Yamato.

"I can't help but agree." He replies.

Wanko approaches Moro, "Moro, the coffee you're drinking is black right?"

"Yeah, I like drinking my coffee black." He responds.

Wanko then takes her coffee cup, "Give it to me. I'll drink it."

Everyone seems to think it's funny like Chika, "As if drinking coffee black makes you—"

"B-But that coffee is black—there's no sugar. And yet… That is a formidable challenge, Dog." Chris seemed impressed somehow.

"It seems to be working though." Mayo replied to her blonde friend.

"Watch me." Wanko then takes a few gulps of Moro's coffee.

"Blech..." She wretches a bit at the bitter taste, but continues gulping it down.

Chris goes over to dote on her, "Oh, so you have proven to be cute after all."

Wanko is clearly upset, "I-I told you I'm not cute! Why won't you listen to me?!"

Then a whistle blew in the distance, "Oh! Somebody blew their whistle because they're looking for me!" And off she went, "Onee-sama, I'm coming!"

"Onee-sama!" Wanko dashed right into her sister.

"Oh, Wanko! Over here!" Momoyo had a bag of cookies in her hand, "The cookies the Cooking Club gave me are delicious. Want to split them?"

"Yay! Yes!" Wanko immediately accepted the gift.

"Hey, looks like our dog's not coming back." Yamato commented.

"Looks like Momoyo had food to entice her with, that's probably why." I commented. "And yet she wants to be treated like an adult…"

"There she goes again… And class is starting soon." Miyako then takes it upon herself to finish Wanko's copied homework.

"We also have to get ready for Japanese history too." Moro took out her textbook.

"And I'll hide her equipment in her desk for now until the end of class." I put her dumbbells and other exercise equipment in her desk. "I know she'll never learn if we keep covering for her, but this is at least something we can do."

"But the easier we make it for her now, the harder we'll have to make the assignment." Yamato says.

"Yet, you also seem to like covering for her, Yamato." I say.

"Yeah, like he said you do plenty of stuff for her." Capt agrees with me.

"Mmm, I guess I do huh?" Yamato realizes. "But you seem to be doing a lot for her Nagamasa."

"I mean I live with the both of them and one of them is in my class. I do want to try my best to help her succeed. The other… well I like living so that's my answer to that." I mean at the end of the day, it's my way of repaying them for putting me up while here in Japan.

Besides… I like Kazuko…

May 8th, 2009, Friday

We heard a dog whistle…

"Naga… someone's calling!" It was after school so Kazuko and I were doing our afternoon runs. After seeing her dash off I went to keep up with her.

"Hah, hah… When that thing goes off, it's off to the races isn't it?" I say as we run side by side.

"Yeah, yeah!" She seems too excited to say much else.

We eventually looked up ahead and saw the trio of Momoyo, Kazama and Yamato waiting for us as we ran up to them.

"Who called for me?!"

"Hey guys, what's up!?"

"Oh, and Naga-kun's here to. This should be more than enough." Huh?

"But sheesh Nagamasa, you kept up with her even with the whistle? You sure are something." Capt complimented.

"Well, you run with these two you start getting used to the strain." I say catching my breath. While I was confident in my newfound stamina, that didn't mean by any longshot I was a match for some of the more "elite" fighters in this world.

"Wanko, my cute, adorable sister… Do you and Naga have some free time?" Momoyo asks her.

"Yep. We were just resting after Naga and I were doing some afternoon training." Wanko replied.

"How's your stomachs doing? Hungry? Starving?" Kazama asked us.

"My tummy's empty, yeah. And you called me here, so I should get a treat." Wanko's stomach had been growling a bit before we had left on our run. We hadn't eaten anything since the both of them told me it would be a good "influence" if I work for my food.

"Yeah, I could eat a horse if I wanted to. I haven't eaten since lunch after school." I tell them.

"Then we'll do you one better. Follow us, come on." And so the two of us followed the trio the Kawakami mall.

"Okay. Let's go Naga. I don't follow strangers, but I'd follow you anywhere Nagamasa!" She said to me.

"K-Kazuko… d-don't say stuff like that! People will misunderstand!" Geez…

"Alright, let's get moving. Our destination is Ramen Kawatomi-ke." And so upon reaching the shop we found a poster outside of what seem to be a food contest.

"So they're handing out 5,000 yen just for eating a super-duper-extra-large-deluxe tonkatsu ramen bowl in twenty minutes?" Wanko read the poster.

"Seems like a lot, but I'm definitely hungry enough for it. Besides, I love ramen." I was all up for it.

"Are you up for the challenge, Wanko?" Momoyo asked her sister.

"Easy peasy. I told you, my tummy's empty." She was just as willing it seems.

"So if the both of you eat it all, you'd be able to cover the rest of our food. Okay?" I see…

"So you really just wanted to mooch of our appetites to eat for 'free', huh?" I accuse the trio.

"Haha, got us." Capt said with a smile.

"Ah well, I'm hungry and so is she so let's do this Kazuko!" I put my hand.

"Yeah!" We both high-fived.

"It's so cute how you two get along. I wonder… does Naga-kun have a crush on Wanko?" Momoyo teased.

"S-shut up… you!" I could feel my cheeks getting redder.

"Eh… O-Onee-sama… even so, we've got this!" Wanko recovered.

"Alright then you two, go at it! We'll all get normal servings." Capt said.

"Eh, either or; Wanko and I will get some ramen to go after this since we'll have some left over. You good with that Wanko?" I ask her.

"Yeah, since we'll be picking up our training at the Temple later, we'll have some after that." She agreed.

And so after ordering, eventually our bowls arrive. We had 20 minutes to finish all of this stuff.

"This… is really hot." Wanko blew on her noodles.

"Sure is, but I think I can manage it. Dealing with Miyako's spicy foods seems to have helped me get over spicy things." But still to be safe, I blow on mine. Don't want to burn my tongue with a piece of piping hot tonkotsu.

"Seeing you two like this is something. I didn't think you'd worry about things like this." Kazama said.

"Well I want it to cool down first! Ten minutes is more than enough." Wanko says.

"Yeah, five is enough for me; I just don't want this stuff to burn the inside of my mouth I drop anything in a panic." I tell them.

Momoyo then whispered, "Just tell quietly tell me if you two have trouble finishing your bowls. I'll use a microscopic black hole to remove some of the stuff at the bottom of your bowls."

"Nah, we're good…" See what I mean?

"We'll do our best so you won't have to waste an Ultimate on a bowl of ramen!" Wanko told her sister.

"Kazuko, Nagamasa; shouldn't you guys get started?" Yamato told us.

"Oh right, it should be more than ready now. Let's do it Kazuko!"

"Yeah!"

And with that we both started wolfing down our bowls of ramen, the sounds of slushing noodles and us munching away fill the room as the trio watch us as they enjoy their food while the staff watch us dumbfounded eating their largest serving.

"Haha, you're both wolfing it down." Kazama said.

"Yeah, I like seeing them both go all out." Momoyo says.

"Yeah, even the wait staff are all in total disbelief." Yamato commented.

"Yeah, since one of them is the littlest of us all. But even so, Naga's doing good all on his own."

"I have an idea. Want to stop by the secret base after this?" Kazama offered.

"I'm for it. I was getting bored anyhow." Momoyo agreed.

"Right?" So long as I'm around, you'll never be bored." You know hearing that from Capt it would be quite the line, if he wasn't you know sexually unaware.

"Want to play Bluff? The game Sparrow was playing in that movie?" Oh, Liar's Dice? I loved those kinds od games.

"Hey, sign me up."

"Me too, me too! Naga, you've got to teach me!"

"You guys might want to finish before you get back into the conversation." Yamato told us.

"Whoops, right. Let's finish this, Naga!" So we kept going as we finished our noodles and all the tonkotsu cutlets.

"You might want to hurry up. Remember you guys have to finish the broth too, or it doesn't count." Kazama reminded us.

"Kay…" And so in unison the both of us took our bowls and started gulping down the broth making sure none of it hit the floor in the process.

"We're counting on you two. After all, I didn't even bring any money." Momoyo stated.

"And you'd better believe I didn't either. Heck, that's just common sense." Capt admitted.

No, that just you two admitting to being lazy. Well, one is lazy with money. One is frugal, but borders on hoarding his money in the name of saving. It's weird with Kazama, but he's a weird man… so it makes sense? I don't know anymore.

"Whew! Done!" Both I and Kazuko declare at the same time as we finish the broth in our bowls and show they're completely empty.

"19 minutes on the dot for both of you. Nice job!" Momoyo congratulated both of us as she even patted my head.

"But with 10,000 yen there'd be plenty left over." Wanko remembered.

"And you both get to keep the remainder. Besides didn't the both of you say you'd take some leftovers together?" Kazama reminded her.

"Oh yeah, then let's get a little extra Naga."

"Yeah, besides we can't just eat things like that all the time. Got to balance it all out. Heavens knows I've had that beat into me by Lu-sensei." I say.

"You're eating a lot lately. You plan on molting your skin or something?" Kazama asks.

"My body wants to grow. Then I'll have big boobs." Wanko said.

But Kazama wasn't convinced, "Nah, that ain't happening. Throw in the towel and give up that fight."

"I will too have big boobs! I believe I will, so I will!" Wanko was defiant as Kazama seemed to reject the idea of her goal.

"Well, that'll take time, besides if you ask me you look impressive on your own…" I say that then realize the setting I'm in. Looking over, I see the others looking at me along with Kazuko.

"Ho, ho… Then you do have a crush on Wanko…" And here comes the teasing.

"Yeah, yeah thanks Naga. Here have a black oolong tea, I'll pay for it." Kazuko seems to keep steady, not my words.

"Hey! Damn it, that's cheap!" Kazama felt cheated.

"Why, all he was doing was being supportive. That's how you get ahead in life." Yamato noted.

Kazuko though seems raring to go, "C'mon! Let's go play at the base!"

The secret base—

"Zzz…" Wanko's asleep. Where exactly, surprisingly she's got her head in… my lap.

"She was so excited, and now she's asleep. No surprise there." Kazama said.

"Well, between all that hard work, and a full stomach, of course she got tired. Let's let her sleep. Heheh. There, there, my cute little sister." She pats her head again.

"I accounted for this. Mayucchi and the others. They're on their way." Yamato said.

"Nice attentiveness, Tactician Yamato. Have a medal of excellence." After that Moro arrived.

"Hey. I went and got some snacks." After that Gakuto.

"Hey, so half the gang's here already."

"Well seems like there wasn't a need to call them anyway." Momoyo pointed out.

All the while I watched over Kazuko, patting her own head. Watching over her, I couldn't help but admire her cute form. I can see why these guys have her as he mascot.

Her naturally soft red hair is so smooth and soft, her features are the same, and when I mess with her ears…

"Mm-ah…" I hear her lightly rumble in her sleep.

"Hahaha…" I continue to dote over her.

"Oh-ho, one of the little ones is asleep I see." Gakuto said.

"Ahaha, she looks so happy. And you do too, Nagamasa." Moro said.

"I-I don't know what you guys are talking about… She just slept here like this is all." Real smooth dude, real smooth…

"Zzz… Kuri, ready to give up?... Zzz…" Even in her dreams she's still doing stuff. And so she slept under our warm, watchful gazes.

Eventually the other girls arrived.

"Ah, Dog is asleep. She must've been active today to be that tired." Chris said.

"Yes, she looks so peaceful." Mayucchi commented.

"Yeah, yeah… She's truly our cute mascot." Miyako seemed to take to her sleeping form.

Rubbing her head, I continued to watch over her…

"Hm-hm, Naga, you look like you got something to say, what is it?" Momoyo asks me.

"Oh, nothing really… Just looking over her, reminded me of something… I'm sure she's having some nice dreams, if her ears are saying anything." Wanko's ears were pointed up and moving around a little, and the smile on her face seemed to show she was happy.

"I don't think anything could get her down…" I say, as I once again pat her head.

[For a good cover Japanese cover; look up UTAU cover on YouTube under Everything Stays (Extended Japanese).]

Then something comes over me. Kind of like when I was cooking for them that one time, "Let's go in the garden. You'll find something waiting. Right there where you left, lying upside down."

I continued, "When you finally find it, you'll see that it's faded. The underside is lighter when you turn it around. Everything Stays, right where you left it. Everything stays… but it still changes."

"Ever so slightly; daily and nightly. In little ways, when everything stays…" With a little hum of a chorus, I continue with the song.

"Go down to the ocean, the crystal tide is raising. Waters, gotten higher as the shore washes out. Keep your eyes wide open; even while the sun is blazing, the moon controls the tide it could cause you to drown. Everything stays right where you left it. Everything stays, but it still changes…"

Nearing the end, "Ever so slightly; daily and nightly… in little ways… when everything stays…" As I finish I rub Kazuko's head as she seems to snuggle up at the end of the song.

"That was beautiful, Nagamasa-san." Chris complimented.

"Yes, it was very deep." Miyako says.

"Such a beautiful melody, your voice is amazing, Nagamasa-san." Mayucchi joined them.

"Haha, please… it's nothing really." I reply sheepishly.

"What's that song about by chance?" Kazama asked.

"Yeah, I've never heard that one before." Moro joined in.

Hmm, can I really tell them about Adventure Time? No, that show wouldn't come out for a whole another year. But, I could at least talk about the song, I guess.

I slightly clear my throat as I begin, "Well the song isn't really about anybody; it's more like… a feeling itself… a feeling of change."

"Change?" Yamato inquired.

"Yeah, think about it like this. Like I said in the beginning; sometimes you'll find something that was precious to you, something you seemed to have forgotten, but it's changed and yet still it's the same thing. Just a little different." I answer him.

"And the part about the ocean?" Momoyo asks now.

"Well; that talks about just how the sea is, but at the same time it's kind of like life in some ways. The tides and the ocean can change at times, but sometimes it's the same predictable thing. It's different, but the same." I reply.

"But what about the change part, I get what you're saying, but where does that come from?" Moro asks me now.

"Well think of it like this; not all change is bad or good. It just means things are… different. You yourself are still the same person on the outside, but it's how you change yourself is what matters. Like with the ocean; you should always watch the blazing sun and make sure to not be blinded by it and forget who you are in the present, or the moon lull you to sleep lest you let the tide take you out. But even so, it's how you react to the tide be it low or high is what makes you who you are." I explained.

"Hmm, that is deep for such a song… What made you sing it?" Kazama asked.

"I… I don't know really. It just came over me." I say that while rubbing Kazuko's head again and seeing her peaceful face.

I know how she is; she's strong, she works hard… But never had that talent for talent like her sister. How one an do the thing they love for years, only for the results to either never change or seemingly remain the same…

But that doesn't mean, one hasn't changed. That doesn't change how strong they are now, or their hard work ethic… It simply means, one should change course before the tide takes you in.

What about you Kazuko? Will you fight the tide, or will it waters swallow you away?

May 12th, 2009, Tuesday

"Good morning, everyone!"

"Hey guys! Morning!" The both of us greeted the gang with tires tied behind our backs and full of energy.

"Wow… I'm surprised how much they train every single day." Mayucchi was impressed.

"Well yeah. I started after everyone else, so I have to make up for it." Wanko says.

"And even though I come from a martial arts family; I'm definitely seeing the difference between that and this is quite telling." I reply.

And so Wanko sprints off with me chasing after her, "And there they go…"

She hasn't been training for a decade, and she's so strong. While Nagamasa-san has a strong core, I think he'll go even higher then he is now."

"It must be the result of their own hard work. I respect that aspect of her and Nagamasa-san's diligence." Chris agrees. "However, I will not lose to her in a match."

"Haha, aren't my little sister and protégé something else? Tell her to run a hundred meters and she'll run 130. Tell her to run a kilometer and she'll add another 200 meters on top of that. Even Nagamasa, who I thought was the same has done nothing but rise as well. A training regiment like they have would be crazy enough, but they only push themselves further." Momoyo said, almost with a melancholic tone.

"Someday, that hard work will bear fruit and she'll be shoulder-to-shoulder with you someday, Momo-senpai." Moro says.

"Yeah, that'll be the day. Hahaha. I really do hope she pulls it off. Besides, I want to see where Nagamasa goes too as well." Momoyo says.

"Oh, a sibling rivalry, plus a master-student match? I'll sell the tickets!" Kazama declared.

"Yeah, that'll fire me up." Momoyo said.

"Umm, maybe it's a bit early to be selling tickets?" Yamato commented.

"…?" Miyako titled her head, she seem to ponder something.

Eventually the both of us arrived at school ahead of the others we were greeted by Lu-sensei.

"Oh, Kazuko, Nagamasa-san; I see you're both wearing the wristbands we discussed." Lu-sensei pointed out.

"Yes, we're wearing the twelve kilogram ones." She told him.

"Well, I'm actually wearing the fifteen ones." I tell him.

"And once again you push yourselves… I told you both ten would suffice. I tailored my instructions to both suit your capabilities." Lu-sensei explained.

"But I want to become way stronger, Assistant Master!" Wanko said energetically. "So I thought, maybe I could handle a little more."

"Haha, same here really, we apologize Assistant Master." I respectfully bowed to him.

"I know… well even so, do your best." Lu-sensei seems accept our choices seeing our resolve.

"Yes, sir! Okay, I'm off to get some sleep during class." Really, Kazuko?

"No, you must not abandon your studies! Seek to be a warrior-scholar!" Lu-sensei immediately corrects her as I have my head in my hands.

"Ahaha, fine. I'll do my best."

"Come on, let's get to the showers and change before class starts.." I tell her.

"See you later, Assistant Master!" And with that, the both of us are gone.

"Yes, take care." And despite her dashing through the halls and me trying to stop her, all Lu could do was watch as he saw our figures run off and think to himself, "Dreams are marvelous things. Hers let her shine brighter than any star could. And yet… No, not now. Fight on, Kazuko. Nagamasa-san… do your best as well. Shine on, both of you…"
