Chapter 31: Marinette and Fashion.

(Quantic Universe Earth 19274729568301958374, Paris, France, November 10th, 2015, third person POV...)

As Marinette types in her computer journal while Tikki writes the exact same things being typed on the computer, Marinette narrates, "Marinette's journal. November 10th, 2015. Today at school, Ms. Bustier asked each and every one of us about what we wanted to become in terms of our future job professions when we grow up. Many of my friends didn't have a clue, and to me personally, this means that they didn't even put that much effort in studying for even one job opportunity. But me? In my old life, I had gotten a decent job as a comic book writer and a fanfiction story writer on such fanfiction websites like Web Novel. But now, now that I'm living life as Marinette Dupain-Cheng, one of the few and still many Miraculous Ladybug characters that a few show fans and show critics had hated because of her being a stalker to Adrien even despite the fact that the true backstory behind it wasn't going to be revealed until the Derision episode of season 5 was released even though it was more of a surprisingly sympathetic backstory than any real explanation, I unintentionally inherited the original Marinette's dream to become a fashion designer just like Gabriel Agreste, Marinette's favorite role model in the fashion world. He's not only Adrien's father – if you could call him that considering the fact Adrien is a humanoid Sentibeing – but Gabriel is also the most skilled fashion designer of this Earth. He happens to be the rich owner of the Gabriel brand. BUT, like a select few rare versions of myself as Marinette, I intend to take over the Gabriel brand after we throw him in prison for his crimes as Hawk Moth, The Collector, Scarlet Moth, Shadow Moth, Shadow Noir, Monarch, Monarchbug, and Nightormentor, and after I turn eighteen. Right now, at the present time because of the fact that we're not in season 5 just yet and because of the direction of my new show that follows my script, until we apprehend Gabriel on Heroes' Day for his crimes as Hawk Moth, Adrien models for Gabriel. Adrien is shown in every advertising slogan, in fashion magazines sold worldwide, on different kinds of posters all across Paris, and so forth.

But, like the real Marinette that I'm inhabiting and influencing right now, what I love the most about fashion design is creating and inventing something new and totally one of a kind. In my old life, I hated fashion designing since, like I said a couple of journal entries ago, not all fashion designers were metaphorical or literal saints, Gabriel Agreste aside. But now, in my new life as Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I literally love inventing something, designing new schematics for anything fashionable, and even sewing the sample and final products. I've already invented and sewn designs for hats, clothes, accessories like jewelry, Halloween costumes, Santa Claus outfits similar to the real life versions of Santa and similar to the outfits from the live action movies based off of old Saint Nicholas, and even the Eiffel Tower sunglasses for Jagged Stone, the famous rock 'n' roll superstar who sold millions of albums all over the world. A majority of the time in my day to day life, I'm also wearing my own designs. Such as the purse I always carry with me to hold anything important like my money, for example. I made the purse myself. And of course, I also love to walk around Paris for inspiration. If I could, I would love to spend days watching people, and what better place would there be other than Paris to become inspired? Of course, being Ladybug has also assisted me in seeing things from an alternative first person perspective and create something in a new way. For example, when we were about to combat Mr. Pigeon, I was inspired by Xavier Ramier to create a unique hat. Unfortunately, because Adrien is allergic to feathers which happens to revolve around bird feathers, well, let's just say I had to improvise in order to avoid accidentally making Adrien suffer an allergy reaction that could potentially prove to be fatal.

In a scene from Mr. Pigeon vs. Stock Dove, the judges move on over to Marinette's hat design and Gabriel remarks, "Hmm. Very excellent creation, Ms. Dupain-Cheng. You definitively have the laboring hands and healthy mind and healthy heart of a hat maker. Congratulations on your demonstration. You're the winner."

Marinette finishes narrating, "I feel like I've been blessed with incredible fortune. And yes, because I self-forcibly grew up religious in this new world, I refuse to use the word lucky to describe anything I consider a blessing to allow me or anyone I know to be granted such fantastic opportunities and rewards for good effort a human being can only dream of. But anyway, I hope that one day in the future, some time after I turn eighteen and Gabriel Agreste is still behind bars, I'll have the Gabriel brand under my own guiding hands, and that people will love my designs. Until then, I try to improve on everything every day by learning how to use new methods and make presents for my family and friends for anything, aside from just birthdays and Christmas. Oh, I almost forgot! Alya's birthday is coming up in a few days, and I want to design something for her. I already have in mind a special casing for her smartphone, but I need to buy the equipment needed to make it. Better start right now. Marinette's journal entry ending. Bye for now, journal. Wish me well. Signing off."

The End.

(Bonus: Marinette finishes showing Adrien the very first Jeremy Zag directed Miraculous Ladybug movie. January 3rd, 2017, third person POV...)

As the true credits finished rolling, Adrien remarks, "Wow. Just when I thought things couldn't get any better to improve on what Thomas Astruc left behind when he stepped down as director of the show after Re-Creation: The Last Day Part 2."

Marinette replies, "Yep."

Adrien adds as he asks, "And my counterpart has super speed not unlike The Flash and all other users of the Speed Force, or even Quicksilver, or even the Transformers Prime Starscream when he uses Red Energon?"

Marinette replies again, "Yep."

Adrien adds as he asks again, "And our counterparts are actually seen sparring, something that you said our canonical cartoon counterparts are never seen doing and are never scripted doing so otherwise whatsoever?"

Marinette replies, "Yes."

Adrien adds as he asks again, "And unlike my canonical father who has to Akumatize himself when he's detransformed after making an Akuma, my father's counterpart is able to Akumatize himself while transformed as Hawk Moth to the point where he can fly, he can fire energy blasts as Akumatized butterflies energized by electricity, he has telekinesis, he can alter reality, and he can transmutate any form of matter and energy to the point where he can easily turn water into molten lava?"

Marinette answers, "Yep. And it was scary when he unleashed segments of his full power on the city in the final battle to lure our counterparts into the open."

Adrien adds as he asks again, "And my father's counterpart found out my identity, but unlike my father in this timeline and universal stream, his counterpart chose to willingly give up his crusade and turn himself in?"

Marinette answers again, "Yeah."

Adrien adds as he asks yet again, "And the backstory of Chloe's counterpart hating your counterpart is because Nino's skateboarding counterpart had bumped into your counterpart, causing Chloe's counterpart to spill some coffee onto her Gabriel Agreste Brand sweater, even though both didn't know that Chloe could've gotten serious burns from the hot coffee?"

Marinette answers again, "Pretty much."

Adrien adds as he asks once again, "And your counterpart gradually got better at gymnastics and playing a recorder, something else you told me your counterparts in the cartoon had never participated in?"

Marinette answers again, "Nailed it in one."

Adrien adds as he asks once again, "And Plagg behaved more disgustingly in the movie than in the show, by eating cheese in the trash and especially by farting even though he doesn't have a butt or a digestive system like an Earth creature?"

Marinette answers once again, "Yeah, and that was definitely one of the bizarrest things I had ever seen. Although, when Nathalie noticed the foul smell coming from your counterpart's room, she looked ready to puke."

Adrien replies before he adds as he inquires once again, "Yeah, I'm not gonna lie; Plagg's counterpart being disgusting aside, Nathalie's face was hilarious. Heh heh heh. And anyway, Tikki's counterpart was not only impatient and snarky with your counterpart's reluctance to be a superhero, but she was also more energetic and more willing to use her puppy dog eyes on your counterpart?"

Marinette replies, "Yes, along with actually relishing the thought of having powers to fight supervillains and/or experience near-death experiences and adrenaline rushes."

Adrien adds as he inquires once more, "And not only were Tikki and Plagg's counterparts more disobedient to Master Fu's orders, but they also had more influence inside their Miraculouses, they could change into the animal forms that their Miraculouses are based upon, they could interact with our counterparts while transformed unlike the show were it not for your wishing power in this current timeline, and they could only transform our counterparts by entering their hearts and they could detransform our counterparts by leaving their hearts?"

Marinette replies, "Yes, that was an unnecessary and not entirely welcome change of pace for some of us Miraculous fans."

Adrien adds as he inquires, "And Wayzz doesn't make an appearance in the movie whatsoever, and because of this, Master Fu is the only one who senses the activation of the Butterfly Miraculous and he explains the origins of the Miraculouses in the beginning of the movie?"

Marinette replies, "Yes, and it was a bit of a welcome change, of a kind, anyway. Even though he didn't mention whatsoever how the Butterfly Miraculous can be used for good, and Trixx, Pollen, Rena Rouge, Queen Bee, Carapace, Duusu, and Mayura were due to appear in the sequel, presumably when Nathalie decides to succeed her boss even though she doesn't know about the circumstances of his change of heart."

Adrien adds as he questions, "And in the movie, because of its higher budget compared to the cartoon, the Parisian streets are more crowded, just like in many versions of your Earth where Miraculous Ladybug is a work of fiction rather than a real universe of existence?"

Marinette replies, "Yeah, that was also a shocker, but surprisingly accurate."

Adrien adds as he questions once again, "And furthermore, the same rule with the Miraculous holders also applies to the Akumatized villains and their Akuma butterflies, while also retaining the option to Akumatize any object on them like in the cartoon?"

Marinette replies, "Yeah, and it was a shocker when it was discovered that the only way for the Akuma villains to be returned to normal was to suffer extensive damage as long as it wasn't fatal."

Adrien adds as he questions once more, "And the Miraculous suits in the movie aren't nearly invulnerable?"

Marinette answers, "No."

Adrien questions once more, "And along with that, in order to repair the supersuits and heal any injury, the Miraculous users in the movie have to detransform and transform again?"

Marinette answers, "Yes. That explains how after Gabriel renounced his powers and my counterpart got the Ladybug Miraculous back, when she transformed back into Ladybug, all signs of battle damage were wiped away like when you wipe dirt off your face with a baby wipe."

Adrien questions yet again, "And furthermore, the quantum masking isn't as powerful as long as the Miraculous users see each other transform or recognize parts of their faces through partially destroyed masks?"

Marinette answers, "Yes."

Adrien quizzes, "And along with that, Nooroo isn't as meek and submissive in the movie compared to the cartoon?"

Marinette answers again, "Nope."

Adrien asks, "And in the movie, instead of your counterpart saving Master Fu from incoming traffic being a test of character, it was actually an accident because of Tikki and Plagg flying away disobediently to find our counterparts?"

Marinette answers, "Yepper."

Adrien asks again, "And in the movie, because of its higher budget, the animation designs of our counterparts' universe from the characters to the rest of the artwork is more modernized?"

Marinette answers again, "Uh-huh."

Adrien asks again, "And in the movie, even though it's somewhat common with the canonical cartoon universe, your counterpart during the first verses of Reaching Out was revealed to not have her toenails polished in a different color whatsoever?"

Marinette replies, "Yes. It was a shocker, but even though all versions of Marinette Dupain-Cheng are born and raised in Paris, it actually makes sense; not every girl in every part of the world is concerned with making themselves pretty all the time. For some, they'll just put on lipstick for any occasion and they'll be fine. Others are more overt by getting their hair done, getting their nails done, getting pedicures, the whole deal. And because I remembered that detail midway through the song, I was like, '"Oh, now it makes sense."' Heh. I can certainly see why."

Adrien then asks, "And in the movie, it's unknown if your counterpart had recently moved to Paris or if she was already a native for sixteen years?"

Marinette answers again, "Yes. It was a bit of a head scratcher, to put it politely."

Adrien then asks again, "And in the movie, there were songs?"

Marinette answers, "Yes, Jeremy Zag and his production team chose to make the movie not only an adventure/romance film, but also a sort of Disney style musical. And that didn't sit well with some Miraculous fans who felt that there was too many songs in the movie and not enough action, romance, or dialogue. I mean, seriously, even outside of someone like me even if I didn't have problems with the way Thomas Astruc directed the current cartoon universe, that's way too picky, and beggars can't be choosers."

Adrien inquires again, "And in the movie, only Ms. Bustier and Mr. Damocles are shown in the scenes at Francoise Dupont?"

Marinette answers, "Yes, and even if they had additional scenes, there's no guarantees that they wouldn't be as incompetent at dealing with bullies than they are in the canon cartoon."

Adrien inquires again, "And in the movie, Master Fu is not calm or cool-headed like here?"

Marinette answers, "No. I believe it was for a bit of drama to add to the story of the movie, and based on what I had seen, the one hundred and seventy-three years since the Guardians presumably suffered the same fate as their canonical counterparts didn't really make Master Fu that much calmer under pressure."

Adrien inquires again, "And in the movie, your counterpart still didn't have the ability to fly?"

Marinette answers, "Actually, she could fly using her yoyo, but I don't think that actually counts as true flight."

Adrien inquires again, "And in the movie, the transformation phrases for the Miraculouses are entirely optional compared to allowing the kwamis to transform ourselves by entering our hearts?"

Marinette answers again, "Yes. Just like with my counterpart saying the Ladybug Miraculous heroic transformation phrase during the break of the Courage In Me song after some encouragement from Tikki's counterpart, who apparently mellowed out after seeing how my counterpart was finalizing her decision to get back onto the battlefield."

Adrien inquires again, "And in the movie, Gabriel's counterpart had a song too?"

Marinette answers, "Yes. And if he had ever sung in the cartoon, I'd feel like I was Marinette waking up from a nightmare about Gabriel singing a victory song in the aftermath of wishing Emilie back to life while offering my life as a sacrifice."

Adrien cringes before asking again, "And in the movie, the power up potions were never seen or mentioned whatsoever?"

Marinette answers, "No, Adrien, because the way the movie begins and ends meant that because our counterparts managed to finally defeat Hawk Moth, there was no call for any superpower upgrades. But also, because Mayura was going to show up in the movie sequel and presumably steal back the Butterfly Miraculous, well, let's just say our counterparts were going to need every edge to apprehend Nathalie."

Adrien asks again, "And in the movie, Chloe actually paints her fingernails red in the Winter Ball, something that you said she never does on screen in the cartoon?"

Marinette answers, "With the exception of the Horrificator episode despite the fact that Chloe is not seen in any additional ending scenes with nail polish on her fingernails whatsoever, yes."

Adrien asks again, "And in the movie, your mother's original voice actress was replaced in later scenes for the movie by Sabine's second voice actress because the original one had died of a heart attack in July of 2021?"

Marinette answers, "Yeah. And even in spite of the fact that the current versions of Marinette were still fictional back on my Earth, I along with many others in the Miraculous community grieved hard. For me in particular, my original mother took me to therapy, and it took three months for me to finish my grieving."

Adrien hugs Marinette and she hugs him back, the both of them shedding quiet tears.

After they had their long moment, they wiped their tears away before composing themselves for the next one and a half minutes.

Adrien then asks, "And in the movie, multiple background character models have the same hairstyles as Rose and Nathalie, along with many recolored and slightly tweaked versions of me, Nino, Gabriel, Tom, and Kim?"

Marinette answers, "Yep."

Adrien asks again, "And alongside that, in the movie, Miraculous users can summon their weapons back to them upon separation like Thor and Lady Thor with Mjolnir and Stormbreaker, but in the cartoon, that only works on adult Miraculous users like Hawk Moth?"

Marinette answers, "Yes."

Adrien asks again, "And next to that, our Miraculouses in the movie would glow or vibrate when one of us was in distress or danger?"

Marinette answers, "You got it right so far."

Adrien questions again, "And our counterparts' hero selves in the movie met the exact same way as our canon cartoon counterparts did by getting entangled upside down in your yoyo, but they crashed through the main window of the Notre Dame instead of that incident being in the streets of Paris during the Stoneheart episode?"

Marinette answers again, "Correctamundo."

Adrien questions once more, "And upon that first meeting, our counterparts were unwilling to work together because of my counterpart being cocky, arrogant, overconfident, and somewhat rude?"

Marinette answers again, "As Harley Quinn would say, (Imitating Harley Quinn) Right a rooney."

Adrien chuckles at that before he asks again, "And next to that, unlike the show, criminals are shown in the movie, mostly and often getting Akumatized into supervillains instead of Hawk Moth Akumatizing normal civilians just because criminals Akumatized into supervillains are much easier to control compared to civilians such as our class, our younger siblings, and even babies?"

Marinette answers once more, "Yep."

Adrien asks again, "And unlike the cartoon during the season 5 finale before Lila stole the Butterfly Miraculous and after it and after Dad's final victory, our counterparts were able to retrieve the Butterfly Miraculous in the final battle?"

Marinette nods this time.

Adrien quizzes once again, "And in the movie, my mom is a stage theater actress instead of a movie actress?"

Marinette nods again.

Adrien quizzes again, "And unlike the show, my mom's corpse isn't in a glass coffin and is wearing the Peacock Miraculous like it was a necklace?"

Tikki answers this time, "Yes."

Adrien asks once more, "And the hidden mechanism to Hawk Moth's lair and to my mother's body acts more like a door than a highly advanced floor elevator for one person?"

Tikki answers again, "Yep."

Adrien asks once again, "And my father's counterpart found out my counterpart's identity after damaging his mask and after my counterpart wounded Dad's counterpart, which led to Alternate Gabriel to become ridden with guilt and regret, unlike his Cat Blanc and Ephemeral counterparts among others?"

Tikki answers again, "Uh-huh."

Adrien asks yet again, "And furthermore, after Hawk Moth's defeat, both of our counterparts revealed their identities to each other at the Winter Ball, because Marinette's counterpart found out my counterpart's identity during Hawk Moth's instant moment of regret and his renouncing of his powers and identity after the final battle, and my counterpart learned who she was when she willingly revealed her identity at the winter ball?"

Tikki answers, "That's right."

Marinette then explains this time, "And furthermore, unlike the Re-Creation episode, all of Paris finds out Gabriel was Hawk Moth and he ends up arrested, my counterpart during her darkest hour tried to throw the Ladybug Miraculous away instead of finding Alya to give it to her due to the pressure of being a superhero for the first time while also piling several suitcases on top of Tikki instead of trapping her in a glass jar because Tikki kept coming back, your counterpart's Cataclysm was able to bring the entire Eiffel Tower crashing to the ground instead of breaking off several metal beams, my counterpart never used her Lucky Charm objects to fix everything, her Miraculous Ladybug comes from the immense love of everyone in the city during the final victory over Hawk Moth no matter how bittersweet it was, your counterpart's Cataclysm crackles with electricity and can be used more than once depending on how long it took to recharge, Gabriel's counterpart was given a vision of what would happen if he continued his path of evil and darkness unlike the show, the Butterfly Miraculous in the movie was found by only Gabriel in a chest in a cave deep underground instead of being found in the snow of Tibet alongside the Peacock Miraculous and the grimoire by Emilie and Nathalie, Gabriel's counterpart passed out after his first victim, security guard Raymond Rochon aka Gargoyle was deakumatized, your counterpart wasn't homeschooled before going to Francoise Dupont, your counterpart didn't have a bodyguard, your counterpart didn't take fencing or Chinese speaking lessons, your counterpart as Cat Noir during the final battle was more than willing to use his Cataclysm on Hawk Moth regardless of the consequences before learning his identity and changing his mind as a result, the movie ended with snow falling around our counterparts compared to the Santa Claws episode being the only episode where there's snow even despite the Dearest Family episode taking place in February and despite our canonical counterparts combatting Akumatized villains with powers of snow and ice, and therefore no snow in the show was in the episodes centered around the winter months, Hawk Moth's counterpart in the movie spoke to only our counterparts compared to the show and unlike the show, the hologram of Hawk Moth's face was literally smoking, the beginning of our counterparts' crushes were different compared to the show, our counterparts' adventures began at night instead of during the day time, the Miracle Box in the movie is more decorative than it is in the show, my parents in the movie have a car instead of here in the show, our counterparts' first kiss in the movie was more of a happy one compared to the one in the Revolution episode, your counterpart kept a photo of your mother in a locket instead of your phone, my counterpart in the movie doesn't obsess over and stalk your counterpart compared to my canonical cartoon counterpart because the humiliation incident from Derision never happened, the Miraculous spellbook isn't ever mentioned or shown in the movie whatsoever, my counterpart in the movie saved Chloe's movie counterpart from a horrible fall, except that in the original cartoon timeline, the fall was because Stoneheart had thrown Chloe from an upper part of the Eiffel Tower and the movie had Chloe's fall be because of a supervillain attack causing damage to the Ferris Wheel of the local amusement park, Nino is an active skateboarder in the movie but he's not quite so active in the show except for parkour practices by the time of the Miraculer episode of season three, Nino is shown in the movie to have been your friend before you attended Francoise Dupont for the first time compared to the canonical cartoon timelines where you and Nino became friends during your first year in Francoise Dupont, Nino's counterpart gives horrible advice about high school romance, our counterparts are sixteen years old in the movie compared to the cartoon version of our reality, your counterpart using Cataclysm on Gabriel gave him a normal scar as opposed to giving him destruction magic induced necrosis along with your counterpart's Cataclysm not having enough time to recharge, the Lucky Charm power is not part of my counterpart's list of powers, also as a callback to the old days of Miraculous PV with Felix Agreste rather than Adrien Agreste and Felix Fathom, the kwamis in the movie don't appear to be connected to a timer due to being able to call on their holder's transformations themselves, your counterpart in the movie wasn't naive even though it's unknown if he was a Sentibeing like you, Tikki and Plagg's counterparts in one of the movie's promotional videos had the power to rewind time in a short burst but that was removed from the final cut and that didn't carry over to the show from the beginning as that is Sass' power, and finally, similar to Strikeback and Evolution, the citizens of Paris are chanting my Ladybug name at the end in support, but unlike those two episodes, Cat Noir's not alongside me because your counterpart was having a moment of reflection and regret with Gabriel's counterpart before the authorities took him to prison."

Marinette take a few deep breaths even as Adrien remarks, "Wow. Aside from being a mouthful, that's quite the take on the Origins episodes of the cartoon."

Plagg remarks back, "Sure is, kid. But based on what Marinette said before the ending of the movie was shown, at around the time of the movie's premiere aftermath, Jeremy Zag confirmed that a script for the second movie was finished, but the script didn't get the green light — or approval — from a movie studio, and they didn't have a production team to approve of the script for the second movie. All of that wasn't gonna happen yet."

Adrien nods in understanding.

Marinette then looks at the time and says, "Well, not that this wasn't fun, but we got patrol to do."

Adrien replies, "Of course, m'lady. The work of a superhero and many other kinds of people on Earth across all of the Omniverse is never done."

Marinette replies back, "Nope, not by a long shot."

Marinette and Adrien say in unison, "Tikki, Spots On!" "Plagg, Claws Out!"

They transform into Ladybug and Cat Noir in the same manner as some people from Mikaela Haselwood's Earth had animated the way they would transform in unison in the short/long aftermath of the final identity rule and the dissolvement of the love square after Hawk Moth was finally defeated, and the twosome goes onto Marinette's balcony, and they take flight.

(Author's notes: See you all in chapter 32: Benevolent Krampus vs. Santa Claws.)
