Chapter 34: Dark Flower vs. Archangel.
(Quantic Universe Earth 19274729568301958374, Paris, France, January 3rd, 2016, third person POV...)
In her residence, Marinette was working on her homework when she suddenly receives a vision of the newest Akumatized villain causing chaos.
In the vision, Marinette sees an Akumatized villain called Dark Flower using plant life to kill police officers and to ward off anyone coming near to kill a woman named Alisha Reed for killing the villain's boss, Renaldo Simpson, for domestic abuse, for stalking, for breaking parole, for attempted forced seduction, for attempted kidnapping, and for attempted murder.
Marinette sees the ends of the vision and she gasps as she wakes up back in the real world, thankfully without disturbing the homework she was working on.
Tikki asks, "You saw the vision of this Dark Flower spreading chaos too?"
Marinette answers, "Yes, I did."
Tikki then asks again, "What are we going to do?"
Marinette answers, "I don't know right now, Tikki, but I do know we need Archangel to help us."
Tikki inquires confusedly, "Are you actually going to summon an archangel through your powers and through prayer?"
Marinette answers again, "No no no, not that kind of archangel; what I had in mind was Purple Streak using a Tenshi to Tenshize someone in the city into a heavenly replica of the X-Men member turned occasional Horseman of Apocalypse named Warren Worthington the third, also known as Angel as a member of the X-Men, and also known as Archangel when he gets his armor and techno-organic metal wings from the X-Men mutant enemy with godlike power by the name of Oscar Isaac, also known as Apocalypse."
Tikki remarks, "Ohhh."
Marinette then looks over her homework before asking, "Tikki, what subject of homework am I accidentally overlooking?"
Tikki takes a look before answering, "Only a questionnaire about physical health from P.E., Marinette. Other than that, you're not overlooking anything else."
Marinette replies, "Thank you." And she gets to work on the questionnaire, relying on her photographic memory and relying on her nigh-godlike intellect to answer the questions one hundred percent.
In the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, a nice 29 year old woman named Alisha Reed was enjoying her stroll through the park.
She stopped to take a sip of her afternoon decaf coffee from her lemonade thermos that she thoroughly cleaned to put her afternoon decaf coffee into.
Suddenly, a male voice remarks, "Well, well, well, if it isn't Alisha Reed."
Alisha whirls around and snarls, "Renaldo Simpson."
Renaldo remarks, "Long time, no see, sweetheart."
Renaldo starts walking menacingly towards Alisha, but she stands her ground, pretending to be standing still when she's actually preparing her concealed switchblade. And also unfortunately for Renaldo, Alisha had long since gotten buff underneath her clothes, she had perfected her childhood martial arts training, and she had long since had a full mind to kill Renaldo if he should ever show his face around her or otherwise disobey his parole protocols to get what he wants, even without alerting his parole officer.
Renaldo then says menacingly as he gets closer, "You don't know how long I've waited for this, sweetheart. This time, you're mine."
Renaldo gets up close and personal, but Alisha slices his throat open before slicing his wrists open, making him gurgle and struggle to stop himself from bleeding out. But this proved impossible because he had taken drugs before coming to the park in search of Alisha.
Alisha states, "You should've stayed away from me and listened to your parole officer when you had the chance. Now, I can't help how much your family will suffer because of you."
Renaldo keeps one hand on his sliced throat as he tries to make a grab for Alisha, but she kicks him hard in the nuts before kicking him hard in the head, sending him to the floor.
For added emphasis, Alisha takes out a medium-sized combat knife and stabs Renaldo in his forehead, killing him instantly.
Alisha then says, "God forgive me."
Alisha runs off while Renaldo bleeds out, now completely dead.
But unbeknownst to Alisha, Renaldo's second-in-command by the name of Mose Garcia was grieving over his boss and was saying like a mantra, "This isn't over yet, (bleep!) You're going to regret rejecting and killing the boss."
In Hawk Moth's lair, Hawk Moth remarks as his window opens, "Ahh, a criminal second-in-command who watched his superior get murdered. Well, let's see what happens when I Akumatize a criminal."
Hawk Moth makes an Akuma and sends it off while saying, "Fly away, my evil little Akuma, and Akumatize him!"
The Akuma makes its way to Mose and enters his shark tooth necklace.
Hawk Moth remarks, "Dark Flower, I am Hawk Moth. I can give you the power to manipulate flowers and all other plants to get your revenge on your boss' killer. Mose/Dark Flower replies darkly, "Pretty soon, the (bleep!) is going down into Hell!"
Mose is turned into Dark Flower, a Hawk Moth male-inspired version of Poison Ivy, but with more of a floral/armored business suit appearance compared to the real Poison Ivy.
Dark Flower then sends out an energy pulse that turns plants into plantlike soldiers and insect-carnivorous plants, as Dark Flower doesn't really want to kill anyone except for Alisha and anyone who tries to stop him.
Dark Flower says, "My plants, tell me where Alisha Simpson is!"
In Hawk Moth's lair, Hawk Moth remarks, "Hahahahahahahahahaha! It won't be long before the French Miraculous Superhero Team shows up to meet their doom!"
Meanwhile, in her observatory, Purple Streak senses the positive emotion of genuine love coming from Federico Russell, a flower planter who wants to take his fiancé out for a date to propose to her.
Purple Streak remarks, "Well, this young man definitely has the makings of a potential angel to add to our ranks if he ever had the desire to join our ranks full-time, which is unlikely. Still, we could always use even a Tenshi-born archangel."
Purple Streak makes a Tenshi and she sends it off while saying, "Fly off, my heroic little Tenshi, and make this Archangel manifest!"
The Tenshi makes it to Federico's apartment and merges with his thoroughly hidden rose flower.
Purple Streak says, "Archangel, I am Purple Streak. I'm giving you the powers of all archangels from the Bible and the Archangel known as Warren Worthington III from the X-Men. My team needs your help to combat Hawk Moth's newest villain and the second criminal he Akumatizes in history, Mose Garcia, also known as Dark Flower. Can you do this task, Archangel?"
Federico/Archangel replies, "Yes, Purple Streak. Yes, I can."
Federico is turned into Archangel, a combination of Warren Worthington III as Archangel and the various depictions of the 7 archangels from the Bible.
Archangel sheathes his flaming sword and flies off to the Jardin des Plantes.
In Marinette's bedroom, the Akuma Alert App on Marinette's computer goes off.
Marinette inquires before saying, "Hmm? Oh, great. Dark Flower's already making his move."
Tikki replies, "Well, you know the magic words."
Marinette says, "Tikki, Spots On!"
Marinette transforms into Ladybug.
Ladybug flies to Jardin des Plantes and meets her comrades as well as Archangel in transit.
Ladybug and her allies stay in the air as they see plants of various kinds putting people through different types of non-lethal torture, but killing police officers left and right.
Ladybug growls, "Those police officers may be getting in our way and making our jobs harder, but even they don't deserve to die!"
Screechclaw replies, "Calm down, Ladybug; having a rage-out won't solve anything."
Ladybug chitters angrily as a way of growling, similar to an actual ladybug.
Cat Noir remarks, "Sounds like your ladybug tendencies are manifesting in some capacity."
Ladybug replies, "So it seems, kitty. Let's get moving."
The heroes fly down to the park, managing to dodge all of the plants that try to intercept them from the air.
Dark Flower remarks, "Well, well, if it isn't the French Miraculous Superhero Team. And a heavenly replica of Archangel as a Horseman of Apocalypse? How pathetic."
Ladybug gives her team the halt signal, and Dark Flower remarks again, "What? Are you not gonna fight me? Oh, that's right; it's because I have a hostage."
One of the plants reveals Alisha Simpson restrained and being strangled.
Ladybug roars as she goes flying at supersonic speed, burning and slicing every plant as possible to reduce Dark Flower's army while managing to flee from them as soon as she frees Alisha from being strangled.
Dark Flower roars, "NO!"
Dark Flower manifests his own plantlike wings and flies off after Ladybug, managing to keep her in his sight.
Cat Noir then takes off after them.
Dark Flower aims his hands at Ladybug and he fires quick-hardening soil and dirt at the Ladybug Miraculous holder, but she evades the shots.
But then, Archangel slices Dark Flower in half, revealing him to be a plant-based clone.
Ladybug snorts as she remarks, "Hmph. How original, Hawk Moth."
Dark Flower fires another shot at Ladybug, but she dodges with a flying headstand spin.
Dark Flower then engages Archangel in a swordfight, although considering the fact that Dark Flower forgot to make his plant-based sword harden against magical metal, it was a no-brainer that Archangel was winning.
Archangel divebombs to do a hammer strike, but Dark Flower finally makes his plant-based sword harden and he deflects the hammer strike before headbutting Archangel, kicking him in the armored nuts which did some minor damage, and spinning him around twenty-five times real fast before throwing him into the pond.
Archangel instantly surfaces and tries to do a side slash, but Dark Flower catches the sword with his own before doing a disarming swing and punching Archangel in the face.
Archangel retaliates by making his flaming sword activate itself, and he calls it back to his hand before striking Dark Flower's sword once more, and this time, Dark Flower's sword melts against the intensity of Archangel's sword flames.
Archangel then does three hammer strikes before punching Dark Flower in the face 90 times using fifteen left and right alternating overhand punches, fifteen alternating left and right jabs, fifteen alternating left and right crosses, fifteen left and right alternating overhand punch and cross punch combos, and fifteen more left and right alternating cross punch and jab combos.
Dark Flower tries to block the next spinning punch, but Archangel fakes it and does a roundhouse axe kick, sending Dark Flower plummeting to the ground.
Dark Flower flies back up and prepares to fight Archangel again with a new hardened plant-based sword.
But then, Cat Noir shows up and slices Dark Flower's wings apart, making him plunge to the ground.
Then, Cat Noir brings one end of his staff down on Dark Flower's head slightly hard, knocking him out cold without accidentally killing him or causing brain damage.
Ladybug sets down Alisha, finds the shark tooth necklace, and breaks it.
Ladybug purifies the Akuma and uses her Miraculous Ladybug to fix everything, reviving the dead police officers.
Lieutenant Raincomprix then says to Mose as he wakes up, "Mose Garcia, you are under arrest for aiding and abetting, attempted murder, and first degree manslaughter."
Mose tried to resist, but Ladybug, having learned from Fei Wu in the future about pressure points, knocked him out and this allowed Lieutenant Raincomprix to take the new prisoner to the police cruisers.
Topspin remarks, "Well, this was fun."
Another officer states, "Not so fast. Alisha Simpson, you're coming with us for interrogation."
Alisha nods with a sigh, and she's also escorted to a police cruiser.
Ozzy Bubba inquires, "What's that about?"
Ladybug answers, "She killed her abusive stalkerish ex-boyfriend when he made it clear he was going to kidnap her and force her to love him again."
Cat Noir winces as he remarks, "And considering what you told me about our civilian love lives in the original timeline, I'd say that most of our counterparts got off all too easy for good and for bad reasons."
Ladybug nods before asking, "Red Bug, is your patrol shift tonight?"
Red Bug answers, "Yes."
Ladybug replies, "Good. Please handle things here. I got homework to finish and I got to double-check for anything I missed or got wrong."
The heroes disperse and Marinette manages to finish her homework.
Tikki then asks, "So, which Akumatized villain is next on the list, Mari?"
Marinette answers before saying and before explaining Armand D'Argencourt's background, "Our P.E. and fencing instructor Armand D'Argencourt, also known as Darkblade. Before you interrupt me, let me explain. For years, he has been running for the elections to become Mayor of Paris, and so many times now, he has lost to Mr. Bourgeois. But the thing is, something about Armand's motives for becoming Parisian Mayor was partially confirmed: in the medieval days during the French Renaissance, D'Argencourt's ancestor, Darkblade, was a knight and a tyrant who ruled over Paris with an iron fist. That is, until he was dethroned by a wealthy Frenchman who used his gold to buy the loyalties of the common people. And it's been partially confirmed that Mr. D'Argencourt wants to rule Paris the exact same way his ancestor ruled over the city."
Tikki asks confusedly, "Partially confirmed?"
Marinette explains further, "Yes, partially, because when Ms. Chamack pestered Mr. D'Argencourt for answers as to why he wanted to win the Parisian mayoral election in the aftermath of his next defeat and to confirm that he wants to do right/wrong by his ancestor by ruling over Paris like a tyrant, Mr. D'Argencourt refused to answer any questions because, for some reason for him, such a topic is a sensitive matter, and Ms. Chamack has no sense of timing or privacy for such matters, especially in terms of the fact that she's always looking for new interviews to conduct, often without her boss' permission and without other people's consent."
Tikki inquires again, "So, that's why you have been secretly tickling Ms. Chamack's feet while she's sleeping to make her paranoid? As a form of payback against the things she did in the Darkblade, Pixelator, and Prime Queen episodes?"
Marinette replies, "Yes. AND admittedly, I hated tickling Ms. Chamack's feet while she's sleeping as it reminds me of my ex-boyfriend from my Earth doing the same to me on my vacation days before I broke things off with him. And admittedly, it's also brought back traumatic memories of me being tickle tortured by my parents, my siblings, and my other ex-boyfriends, which is why I've decided to stop doing such a thing."
Tikki sighs in relief.
Tikki then says, "Whatever happens, I hope you don't get the idea of tickle torturing Ms. Chamack as Prime Queen to make her lower her guard for one of your teammates to restrain her long enough to destroy her Akumatized cartoon rating wristwatch and purify her Akuma."
Marinette sighs as she replies back, "Admittedly, that would make things easier for us, but you're right; it wouldn't exactly be appropriate even for my reputation."
Tikki then says, "Regardless, you always come up with the best solutions for dealing with Akumatized villains, so truly, Prime Queen should be a walk in the park."
Marinette replies, "Maybe, but I'm not holding my breath on that possibility."
Marinette crosses off Dark Flower from her Akumatized Villain In Chronological Order list and she sees that Armand D'Argencourt aka Darkblade is next.
Marinette goes down into the training room in the third basement interconnected with the Grand Paris Hotel in the sewer and subway tunnels, and she trains herself in Mirakung-Fu and Akumakung-Fu for one hour and fifty-five minutes.
Later, Marinette sits down to dinner.
Marinette was eating stuffed sweet potatoes, dinner salad, and lemon garlic butter grilled boneless chicken with a green bean skillet.
Marinette was taking her time while making sure not to take too long, as she has a serious no-tolerance attitude towards hot meals getting cold.
After Marinette finishes, Sabine says, "That was delicious and healthy, Tom."
Tom replies before saying as he unveils a platter of baked macaroni and cheese with elbow macaroni and turkey bacon bits, slices of homemade corned beef, broccoli trees with melted cheddar cheese, and mashed potatoes with turkey bacon, butter, cheese, and broccoli, "And for the main course... ta-da!"
Sabine and Marinette look at each other in shock.
Tom then clarifies, "Tikki and I collaborated the idea by belatedly celebrating Thanksgiving, celebrating the New Year, and having a nice dessert treat that's both delicious and healthy."
Marinette and Sabine smiled at that, and in no time, portions were served, and the three Dupain-Chengs manage to eat their dessert with their kwamis having their own portions.
Later, Marinette is showering, although since Miraculous Ladybug is for kids, Marinette's naked body was censored for the sake of children not being traumatized or desensitized to naked bodies.
In Marinette's bedroom, Tikki is talking with Plagg about how to best prepare for Heroes' Day.
Plagg then asks, "And based on Marinette's extensive knowledge of the chronological timelines, her extensive knowledge of our enemies today and in the future, her extensive knowledge of what needs to change to better the future for humanity, her extensive knowledge of the Miraculous Ladybug fanfiction multiverse, and her extensive knowledge of contingency plans, what does Marinette recommend we do to continue our collection of evidence that Gabriel Agreste is Hawk Moth?"
Tikki answers, "Marinette recommends that we use Adrien on the day Lila Rossi makes her debut to take the Peacock Miraculous and the grimoire from Gabriel's safe behind his painting of Emilie Agreste while making sure to deactivate the cameras in the foyer and the atelier and deleting the footage of the heist to prevent Gabriel from pulling Adrien from school and to make sure we – us kwamis and our owners – are far below suspicion, even by Gabriel's standards no matter how smart and how dumb he is in unison.
Plagg then asks, "And what about Gabriel Akumatizing himself into The Collector?"
Tikki answers, "Chloe's robotic fairyflies will provide us with footage of that incident happening to help us further cement to the courts that Gabriel's secrets can't hide from us or any of our counterparts in the right circumstances. Not for longer than half a year, anyway."
Plagg then inquires again, "And Marinette said that Gabi can only Akumatize an army of supervillains if he has someone like Nathalie Akumatized into a Catalyst-esque champion to increase his powers to allow him to Akumatize more than one supervillain with more than one Akuma butterfly. But who's to say we can't beat him at his own game by giving Purple Streak a trusted True Potential candidate by using one of our human army's clones to create our own Crimson Army?"
Tikki replies, "Well, um, that's something to consider. I'll talk with Marinette, Sttraaw, Sabine, Baaldie, and Tom about it when I get the chance. But just so you know, if Purple Streak does become a sort of Crimson Streak, she'd end up with the same weakness that Scarlet Moth has: that their canes are their power sources and if they were destroyed or otherwise damaged, their empowerments would vanish, their champions and Akumas and Tenshi-tachi would return to normal, and they'd end up with the same superpower limits that they've had. Especially considering that because of Gabriel's final victory in season 5 at the end of the school year, he never understood the meaning of being a butterfly, he never understood anything that heroic Miraculous users need to understand so that they can use their powers as many times as they want regardless of physical age and depending on training, and Gabriel never got the opportunity to do what he should've done long before he gave the Peacock Miraculous in its damaged state to his wife."
Plagg then questions again, "And if Scarlet Moth does somehow manage to escape from our army despite the Peacock Miraculous being in Master Fu's possession for repairs at that future time, what do we do?"
Tikki answers, "Marinette specifically said, and I quote, (Imitating Marinette's voice) '"If Gabi does manage to escape our army despite Nathalie being apprehended before she can even think about retrieving the Peacock Miraculous, only to find out too late that it was stolen, we will allow Gabriel to continue digging his own grave and recruit as many more Miraculous-wearing champions and Tenshized superheroes as we can to counter any more of his supervillain victims, allies, and so forth on everything that makes him a bunker-buster."' (Normal voice) Personally, I almost thought Marinette half wants to apprehend Gabriel on Heroes' Day and half wants to apprehend Gabriel when he commits his season 3, Miraculous Shanghai, Miraculous New York, season 4, Miraculous Paris, and season 5 crimes."
Plagg replies back before querying, "Yeah, no argument there. But what does Marinette want us to do if in the event Bunnyx tries to change our timeline to match the canon ones?"
Tikki answers, "She wants us to send such versions of Bunnyx into Hell to punish them not only for the actions they took in various fanfictions like Cause of Strife, Two Letters, Down The Karmic Hole, Face The Truth, Weight Off Your Shoulder, and Damian's Deity among others, but also to ensure that they don't further interfere with our efforts and the efforts of our counterparts throughout the reaches of the Quantic Multiverse becoming widespread in our sector of the Quantic Multiverse, even in specific alternate timeline iterations of our universe."
Plagg replies back, "Whoa. Marinette really is that extreme, even for good reasons in different definitions. And especially in terms of her paranoia when it comes to what Bunnyx will do to either keep her job or to mess with the timelines of our multiverse to satisfy herself from not being able to intervene with our battles against Hawk Moth and/or choosing not to do so just because of her desire to keep the Agreste family and Lila as Hawk Moth storylines in chronological order regardless of whether or not she's given any of the rules Marinette said she would give to Alix in the present time when the time comes to meet Bunnyx."
Tikki then says, "And if Bunnyx even tries to manipulate her younger self into rebelling, there'll also be consequences for Present Day Alix Kubdel and, regrettably, Marinette also ordered for us to make sure that Alix's family also suffers the penalty for not teaching her right from wrong when it comes to time travel, even if Alim Kubdel is the only one aware of Alix becoming the future user of the Rabbit Miraculous."
Plagg's eyes widened before he says reluctantly, "Well, regardless of how wrong it is, orders are orders."
Tikki nods before hugging Plagg in tears.
Plagg hugs his other half back, also shedding tears.
Marinette then makes the sound of her trapdoor closing, catching the kwamis' attention.
Marinette looks remorseful in the cold sense, but remorseful nevertheless.
It took some time to help Marinette open up, but they finished debating the best contingency plans for dealing with Bunnyx without having to resort to any ultimately severe punishments that Marinette knows is God's jurisdiction and His jurisdiction alone.
Plagg leaves to go back to Adrien, thankful that Marinette granting all kwamis the power to turn invisible, teleport, disguise themselves as human beings of various appearances without giving anything away whatsoever, and all manners of traveling and avoiding enemy detection gave Plagg the opportunity to scope out Hawk Moth's lair, his repository, Nathalie's bedroom, Nathalie's computer, Gabriel's atelier, and his bedroom without being seen, heard, or felt.
Marinette then looks at the time before changing into her pajamas.
Marinette then sets her six alarm clocks before saying, "Well, good night, Tikki."
Tikki replies, "Good night, Marinette."
Tikki hovers over Marinette's left cheek and kisses it once before going to her own human bed in human form and before going to sleep as well.
Sabine quietly enters Marinette's bedroom, and upon seeing Marinette and Tikki sleeping, she smiles slightly before quietly exiting Marinette's bedroom to go to bed as well.
The End.
(Bonus scene: Marinette reminisces about the day she and her army managed to have Hawk Moth and all of his allies from Volpina onwards sent to prison after Heroes' Day, before the premiere of Quantic Thomas Astruc's Ladybug and Cat Noir movie, and before changing the events of seasons 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, complete with Bunnyx extremely conditioned and disciplined to not do anything irresponsible or considered interfering with the canon and non-canon timelines of the Quantic Multiverse. December 24th, 2020, Christmas Eve, third person POV...)
Marinette was wrapping the presents she bought for Adrien, and unbeknownst to her, Adrien was coming over to her place with the presents he bought for her, most of which were going to be opened on Christmas Day.
Marinette finishes wrapping the last of Adrien's presents and sets them underneath the Christmas tree.
Marinette remarks, "And done. What do you think, Tikki?"
Tikki replies, "You did good, Marinette."
Marinette then says, "I tell you, even though nothing beats celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and nothing beats opening Christmas presents on Christmas Day, I can't help but think about the day I felt like I was five years old on Christmas Eve in this universe, eagerly dreaming about what presents I would get from my parents, my grandmother, and my classmates."
Tikki inquires knowingly, "You mean the day Gabi Grassette and Iris Verdi were sentenced to life imprisonment while Nathalie was sentenced to only 10 years with a chance for parole in that time frame?"
Marinette replies, "Ha! You remember that day too. Boy, am I glad."
Tikki remarks, "Remember when Gabi was shocked to see his ex-wife revived, only to be horrified as she destroyed his perjury lies about the way he performed his crimes as Hawk Moth willingly?"
Marinette cackles as she replies before asking her favorite kwami in response, "Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! How could I forget?! And remember the look of angered horror as Gabi's life sentence was announced and when he finally realized that his crimes have consequences and the fact that you advocated for us to change the future so that Gabi doesn't get what he wanted?"
Tikki laughs as she also replies, "Hahahahahahahahaha! Yes, I remember!"
Marinette then inquires, "And remember when Iris realized how much she screwed up and how much she would've screwed up the timeline for herself and for Gabi if she had wished for Adrien's lifestyle to be hers?"
Tikki replies again before asking again, "Yes, and remember when Nathalie destroyed Gabriel's final defenses by confessing her former love for him and by revealing the possibility of him abandoning her and Iris if they outlived their usefulness and/or if he ever got what he wanted without sacrificing his own life in exchange for Emilie being revived?"
Marinette replies back, "Yeah, I remember. But now, we have to wait another six years before Nathalie gets her parole. I have a feeling that Adrien will be happy when that day comes."
Tikki nods in response.
Suddenly, the doorbell rings, and Marinette answers it to see Adrien holding an assortment of presents.
In no time, Adrien, Plagg, Marinette, and Tikki had yet another wonderful Christmas.
(Author's notes: In the next chapter is the Darkblade chapter, but this time, Cat Noir will come prepared for Darkblade's advancement, in addition to Purple Streak creating Whiteblade.
See you all in chapter 35: Whiteblade vs. Darkblade.)
