Chapter 43: Ladybug as seen by Adrien.

(Author's notes: Since this chapter technically takes place before Dark Cupid in the correct chronological order, I'm gonna have to rework some of the earliest dialogue. Enjoy the webisode chapter nonetheless.)

(Quantic Universe Earth 19274729568301958374, Paris, France, February 11th, 2016, third person POV...)

In Ms. Bustier's classroom during a scene similar to the opening scene of the chronological Dark Cupid episode, Adrien Agreste is narrating, "Now, what shall I say to Ladybug during our patrol tonight? I know my memories are being shared with one of my clones while he's on duty in broad daylight and I know I should completely focus on the assignment Ms. Bustier gave us, but thanks to Mikaela's wishing power, I'm capable of multi-tasking these days. Okay, uh, how about this? '"Ladybug. I wanted to let you know, I haven't been able to experience the joys of Valentine's Day even though I'm already aware that Valentine's Day is all about love in general, not just romantic love. But regardless of that, I love you, Bugaboo."' Wait, no. I shouldn't call her Bugaboo; she explicitly said that name is a reference to an old horror movie that scared her so much she peed and pooped herself while watching it at home on her Earth, and she also said that people will start to ask me questions I'd rather not answer if they heard me calling her any pet names regardless of whether or not we keep our relationships a secret for good reason, and she also said that catcalling – otherwise known as name-calling or pet-name calling – unwanted flirting with bad timing, crude and offensive jokes, spreading rumors about someone in a sexual light, requesting sexual favors like making out in exchange for benefits like payment or junk food, and giving sexual and/or vulgar remarks count as sexual harassment, and that in order for our relationship to set sail into the future with little difficulty, I have to be careful with what I say to Ladybug in private and in public, I have to be careful about flirting, I have to watch my mouth, I have to recognize when is the appropriate time for... um... doing the do safely, I have to be careful around my beautiful sense of humor, I have to be careful with pet names, I have to keep my impulses under control in physical instances, and I have to recognize when Ladybug doesn't want to kiss me or when she doesn't want me to kiss her."

Ms. Buster asks before her voice fades into the background, "Can anyone tell us why...? (Fading into the background)"

In a secret scene in the aftermath of the fight against Copycat, Cat Noir says as he approaches Ladybug, "Bugaboo, I – "

But Ladybug interrupts him, "Don't ever call me Bugaboo! That name is a reference to an old horror movie one of my high school friends made me watch on my old Earth, and when I watched it, I wet and crapped myself, even though I was thankful enough that I was at home where I had a place to change clothes and shower. Oh, and people will start getting suspicious and ask you questions you might not be comfortable with."

Cat Noir replies, "Oh."

Ladybug continues, "And in addition to that, kitty, everything non-physical about your canon counterparts from several perspectives are the following that, according to internet and encyclopedia book research, count as sexual harassment: catcalling – otherwise known as name-calling or pet-name calling – unwanted flirting with bad timing, crude and offensive jokes, spreading rumors about someone in a sexual light, requesting sexual favors like making out in exchange for benefits like payment or junk food, and giving sexual and/or vulgar remarks. Ergo, you calling me Bugaboo or some other pet name I don't like, calling me by a pet name in public regardless of our secret or common knowledge relationships, you kissing me when I don't want to be kissed, flirting with me during Akuma battles and other unacceptable times, making crude and offensive jokes, asking for sexual favors in exchange for things like sweets or croissants or money or a day off from patrolling, making sexual and vulgar remarks that stem from a human being over-indulging in sexual immorality for a long duration of time without anyone doing anything about it, and spreading horrible rumors about me in a sexual spotlight easily make for a horrible, toxic relationship that's better off like a sunken ship. Those are the things to avoid in a healthy relationship."

Adrien narrates, "Yeah, that was definitely an eye-opener, one that I'm pretty sure our canonical counterparts didn't ever get because of Thomas Astruc and his teams of writers. Anyway, back to what I want to say. '"But anyway, I wanted to remind you, even though you probably already know, that Valentine's Day is this coming Sunday, and I want to know, would you like to spend Valentine's Day with me in your apartment?"' I'm pretty sure that she wants to spend Valentine's Day with me; after all, she wanted our relationship to progress in her chronological order. I wish I could come up with a Valentine's Day poem, but I haven't been able to come up with one based on both internet research and based on what I see about Marinette in terms of her overall appearance and her overall personality. But one thing's for sure: I might make her cry joyfully, and I don't want that; seeing Marinette cry hits me in the feels, as modern people say. And I wish I could come up with a poem on a whim, but I'm not that good. And besides, I can't make jokes about it; not only does Marinette hate it when I joke around, but she also has a deep grudge against those who make her mad or uncomfortable with crude, offensive, and vulgar jokes."

In a secret scene from the aftermath of Alix Kubdel's birthday victory and the averting of her first ever Akumatization into Timebreaker, Marinette is seen on her bed, crying in her sleep. Cat Noir watches, a sad but empathic frown on his face behind his helmet and mask, seemingly understanding from reading Marinette's mind, feeling her emotions, and communicating with Tikki's subconscious without disturbing her how Marinette is feeling right now.

Adrien narrates further, "And as much as I hate to admit it, Marinette's right; my jokes and puns aren't always on point, and I do have frequent bad timing. And even though they're among the funniest jokes and puns in the world, let's just say Marinette once said it'd be a matter of time before I encountered someone who hated jokes to an extreme and won't hesitate to resort to violence against the joke speaker in question. And let's just say that I still find myself to be funny. Okay, I think I got it down, especially if in the event someone else stumbles upon my poem upon finding it and upon my writing it down. '"My Lady, I wish I knew what you were like before you came into my life seven years ago. I wish I could tell you what I was like before you met me seven years ago, but I think you already know. Who knows? Maybe in another life, we would've been great friends regardless of whether or not my father would've let me attend public school sooner."' Oh wait, that's right; it probably wouldn't've been as widespread across the Quantic Multiverse unless there were other universes just like this one in the form of fanfiction stories in the Quadwal Verse. And I do wonder... based on Marinette, Tikki as Tillyan, and Sabrina lecturing me on Parisian law, could my father end up spending his life in prison for the crimes he committed, even including the one where he could spend six additional months in prison for refusing to send me to public school without an acceptable reason and even after being demanded by the French government to do so, along with having to pay a fine of seven thousand and five hundred euros, which Marinette informed me is equivalent to eight thousand, two hundred and thirty-three dollars and twenty-seven cents in the United States? And even including the ones where he could spend sixteen additional years in prison and have to pay seven hundred and ten thousand euros or seven hundred and seventy-nine thousand, five hundred and nine dollars for physically neglecting me, putting me on that strict model diet, refusing to feed me adequately on my diet, refusing to help me in my work endeavors, refusing to pay me for my services, forcing me to work for his company as a model regardless of whether or not he forces me by threat or by violence and without rewarding me or without giving me a salary and acceptable paycheck especially since I'm still a minor and even without teaching me about how money works in families of various incomes or amounts of wealth, and refusing to do his duties as a parent without logical reasons? Hmm, I think I answered my own questions, didn't I? Maybe it's best if I just allow Marinette to do the talking first and think about what to say in response later. But I'll find something even if it won't be a Valentine's Day poem or a future wedding vow. And I'll tell Marinette Mikaela Megan Eleanor Margaret Dupain-Cheng aka Ladybug, Aqua Bug, Lady Ice, Cosmo Bug, Multimouse, Multifox, Multibug, Multinoir, Princess Justice, Dragon Bug, Lady Bee, Pegabug, Pennybug, Panic, Unmasker, and Bug Noire how I truly feel about her."

In her bedroom, Marinette remarks, "Well, up next is Reverse Cupid, especially since Chloe isn't a spoiled brat in this timeline thanks to Hazel's spirit. If I have to deal with any version of Dark Cupid, on the other hand, I'd have to unleash my hatred on Hawk Moth himself."

Tikki replies, "Well, all things considered, we defeated Wolf Beast before he could cause irreversible and expensive damage."

Marinette replies, "Yep, you got that right."

Tikki then says, "But in all seriousness, Marinette, non-canon Akumatized villains such as Wolf Beast, Dramatic Star, Dark Flower, Hawk Saber, Blue Eye, Friendly Captain, Holy Hunter, Friendly Flower, Itchy Cloud, Mirrored Knight, Groovy Horse, Former Crow, Orange Sound, Lazy Obelisk, Beauty Flower, Itchy Communication, Mal-Daughter, Mal-Ink, Fluffy Queen, Clawful, Tickle Monster, Boisterous Song, Itchy Management, Itchy Mask, Aunt Hunter, Anti-Mask, Horrid Honesty, Mal-Cannon, Beauty Crypt, Spiked Star, Dark Dance, Yellow Mask, Friendly Healer, Beaked Mask, Red Shield, Pink Break, Itchy Decision, Enlightened Ink, Spiked Box, Orange Frost, Green Bird, Enlightened King, Sliced Freedom, Horrid Connection, Itchy Hero, Outrageous Winner, Golden Queen, Sliced Soldier, Dramatic Thunder, Enlightened Volcano, Groovy Connection, Red Hero, Winged Dream, Lazy Horse, Dramatic Son, Mal-Reality, Orange Alchemist, Elegant King, Groovy Obelisk, Green Operation, Lazy Hunter, Red Freedom, Spiked Dream, Itchy Hunter, Blue Bird, Ancient Thunder, Holy Glass, Holy Ink, Golden Tension, Red Queen, Metallic Tension, Metallic Dance, Juicy Horse, Outrageous Crow, Aunt Son, Blue Captain, Shadow Demon, Final Death, and even Ghost Ruby were tough, based on what our future selves said. Even though such non-canon Akumatized villain attacks either already happened behind the scenes, haven't happened yet, or would happen if we averted the Akumatizations of specific and non-specific Akumatized villains."

Marinette replies, "Ugh, I know. It seems that even if we're months away from Heroes' Day, more and more people are getting Akumatized, and yet we still don't know if they're doing it willingly or not. But we do have the numbers of workers and the numbers of superior resources to ensure that no forms of evidence detailing whether or not an Akumatization was voluntary would disappear from the face of the Earth."

Tikki states, "Yes, that much is true."

Tikki then walks over to Marinette's calendar and says, "Hey, this coming Sunday is Valentine's Day."

Marinette replies, "Yes, I know. But seeing as how the Friday before Valentine's Day is actually the twelfth, well, let's just say that we'll probably be wishing each of our teachers and classmates an early Valentine's Day."

Marinette chuckles at that, even though she knows it's true.

The End.

(Author's notes: In this correct chronological order, the next chapter is kinda self-explanatory, so, see you all in chapter 44: Reverse Cupid vs. Cupid.)
