Fifteen years old Aster Merel finds himself in a strange place called Night Raven College in a land known as Twisted Wonderland. With no memories of his past and no clues to help recall it, he's taken in by the Headmage of NRC and the rest of its faculty. He begins his life as a student by the side of his reluctant familiar Grim, a gluttonous, and egotistical feline dire beast.

He gets thrown into adventures and danger aplenty as he makes new friends and slowly uncovers his lost past in between out of control school events, trips, and over blots among the students. With rare and strange abilities, ones he can't fully control, to help him and mysterious encounters he's up for a busy and climatic first year.

Author Notes: There are five levels of grades at the college instead of four:

Freshman- Usually 16

Sophomore- 17

Junior- 18

Senior- 19

Undergraduate- 20- The year that students gain extra experience on jobs and in the fields of their choice. They officially graduate at the end of this year.

-Characters are all in their canon grades-

Timeline is stretched a bit to allow more time in between events.

AN: This story is being redone completely, if anyone was reading the other, I hope you'll read and enjoy this one. Lots of canon changes so it's not a direct copy of the game now. Hope you enjoy it. No guaranteed updates either. There are O. C's and Crowley is definitely a fair bit ooc, though he will still have his personality. I'm hoping to follow a strict timeline schedule. It will be posted with possible changes depending on what new events come out.

0. Shattered!

The small boy was running through the blaze around him, trying to escape his pursuer.

'Are we really going to do this?' A shadowed figure asked from his spot above a large, dark pond. His voice was obviously concerned as he watched the young child running in the reflective shimmer of the still water.

The boy barely dodged the falling branch which crackled under it's flaming bark, the brush behind him igniting in a large 'whoosh!' of heat and red inferno. His pursuer had to go around, giving the boy a bit more distance in his lead.

'We don't like it any more than you do Dis-' Another began, only to get interrupted by another worrying voice.

'But are we sure about this course?! The risks with this one in particular-!'

'WE KNOW!' the tallest among them growled, quieting the arguing before it could truly get started. He sighed heavily. 'We all know this. But as risky as this is, it's our best option.'

The small boy in the reflection rolled down a hill after the path dropped off, gaining startled gasps from those present.

'We all agreed to this. We can only hope that things will work out. At the very least, he'll get some time to rest.' Another added, trying to calm the others.

The boy picked himself up and continued running.

'This gives him the safest arrival and the strongest barrier to keep it at bay.' a softer voice murmured.

The boy was getting closer to his destination. Just as was planned.

'Besides, he's strong and resilient. He'll adapt pretty quickly. And it's not going to be forever.' another offered with a bit of unusual positivity... 'Probably.' And there it was.

'Be ready.' the leader said as the shimmering reflection disappeared to leave a calm and still dark pond.

The boy burst into the clearing, stumbling to the edge of the pond that strangely enough, wasn't glowing with the fire around him. Not that he noticed at first. He struggled to get his breath back before looking up into the strange darkness of a lit forest.

"G-guys?" His soft voice asked, concern and relief both flooding through him as he saw them when they jumped from the trees. "You're okay! Thank goodness!" He gasped in surprise as the man who approached him pulled him into a tight and constricting hug.

"This is for your own good Aster. Stay strong, no matter how dire it may seem to get." The deep voice murmured into his ear. Then the boy- Aster- was shoved just as something crashed to the ground in the forest nearby. He fell towards water blacker than night, that lit up brightly with lines of bright light. Seven lines connecting and crossing, and he watched in slow motion as he fell into the hole that had formed in the center of the lines in the middle of the pond's surface.

Then he hit the glassy surface, and the deafening sound of something shattering- coming from around him. From in him- filled the night air before darkness flooded his vision. And they were gone. He was left to float in the dark abyss around him. Unable to move.

He was starting to panic as his mind began to blank. 'Where was he? Who were they? Who was he? What-?'

A voice began to speak. A voice unlike any he had heard before. Cutting in and out. Fading in strange intervals like fog was soup in his ears. A large, ornate mirror wrought with gold appeared before him in this dark void. 'Poor, suffering soul... So beautiful... So tragic. My lovely... The most noble and... flower of... the most beautiful... one in this world.'' It whispered around him as a tall figure cloaked in a darkness more void than a starless night stepped from its glass. A pale hand with darker nails reached out towards him. And the words being spoken sharpened drastically.

'Don't be afraid of the power of darkness. Come now, show your power. For me. For you. For them. We are all running out of time. No matter what, never let go of my hand!' the voice ordered. And feeling as though he was sealing a deal of some kind, he reached out and grasped the hand tightly.

AN: There we have it. Hope it was enjoyed!
