Author's note: My Halloween multi-crossover fanfiction that was long overdue. Eyes peeled this will include canon characters and mentions of the Global Alliance from the Roswell conspiracies cartoon.
The night was stormy and treacherous. However in front of one house there was literally movement.
A moving truck was parked in front of the house as movers accommodated the boxes and more on the front porch. Not just boxes but strange artifacts from around the world. Shrunken heads, tribal masks, and an Egyptian sarcophagus.
"This guy's creeping me put Ralph, we better be getting' a big tip out of this." The first mover grumbled.
"Eh, just try not to drop his stuff, Tobe." Ralph, the second mover replied.
"Knock it off, for all we know that lock was already busted before I even dropped it."
"Just finish packing up this junk, I'll be back for the rest."
"And who the heck hires a moving company to move out in the middle of the night anyway?" Ralph wondered.
"Hey, be glad somebody did. We needed the job." Tobe answered.
"Ever get creeped out by a night like this?"
"Whaddya mean?"
"You know it's late everybody's fast asleep. S'gotta be things that slink round the shadows."
Just then a loud, rumbling noise is heard from the back of the truck. The two movers eye each other anxiously.
Knowing they could be blamed if someone burglarized the items in the truck, the two movers approach with their flashlights. They walk up to it as the Lanky Mover gulps nervously and they shine the flash light on... ...a wall of boxes. One of them has fallen over.
"Hello?! Somebody there?!"
Silence. Flashlight pans off the box to the mess of books that poured out of it.
"Well, it figures. Just a figment of our…"
A shadow falls over the two movers, making their eye widen. Their faces go white. Just as... The truck's steel door suddenly slams shut.
Next were the screams of terror.
Madison, Delaware
Present day
There was only one word for building a potato cannon then experimentally trying it out, only for one lousy shot to hit the neighborhood busybody's car window, knowing it could get you in surefire trouble.
Idiocy.
That was currently the situation of the eight Enchanted ones, a group of eight magically gifted young women with the power over nature and the elements charged with defending the Magic dimension from the forces of Evil.
And so here they are, headed for the Delaware section of the states.
Dana, the youngest Pantheon daughter, wasn't in good standing right about now either. Enroute to their destination she'd somehow climbed into the luggage rack and fallen asleep. Not finding the youngest of their travelling group within sight range had given her family and friends a terrible scare. Finally they spotted Dana as she woke up from her nap between two sports bags asking what the noise was about. She'd gotten a week of grounding for that little stunt.
All eight guardians are in different trouble yet they're still in a group alongside the Pantheon caravan, led and escorted with guards on bikes, sirens and the whole deal. According to Captain Omri Pantheon -father to the three Pantheon sisters- it's because he and the other parents can't trust them enough to be home alone, but the girls knew the true reason why: The New Global Alliance had specifically requested they check out any supernatural related missions ever since the events that happened in spring break and on the Chinese New Year.
Now the Alliance basically it's an underground, international movement operating from a bunker in the small town of Roswell, they recruit from the elite ranks of science, law enforcement, military, and intelligence agencies, setting off on a mission to protect the Earth and its inhabitants from the alien creatures (also currently any hostiles of supernatural origin) that walk among them. The Pantheon girls' parents had been two active members for years only just letting their daughters, the other guardians and other potential allies in on the secret by their superiors' orders for recruitment since the Odaiba incident.
Naturally, the girls are trying to make the best of it but it's getting hard. Everyone else back home was doing something cool for the short holiday except them. Spending a whole week in a quaint little town in the States while grounded wasn't their idea of fun. And they didn't know just how bad their punishment was until later.
"Are we there yet?" whined bouncy-haired Yui as she pulled a cushion over her head.
"No cellphones no electronics or computer games nothing but miles of open road to numb our minds," Tony, Sara G's twin brother grumbled from his spot. He had brown hair and light blue eyes and was fair skinned like his sister.
"I know we're grounded but it's been 24 hours already, when are we going to do something fun!" complained Dana.
She had an oval face and fair skin. Long wavy, golden blonde hair, round green eyes.
"This is the worst out of town trip ever." Theo mumbled just watching the scenery pass them by. She had a square face, hazel eyes, dark hair and a medium skin tone.
"We were going biking this year – thanks a lot!" Beth the redhead tomboy sneered to her mother a little too loudly.
"Don't take that tone with me, young lady! Unless you want it to be one month, instead just one week of grounding!" Dr. Jenna Pantheon scolded her. She was an auburn haired lady with blue-green eyes.
"Hey, hey! We got a job to do here and it's gonna take us as a team – so think we can leave the after school special thing behind us till we finish?" Fitz spoke up trying to ease the tension between the teens and adults, "Fresh air, out in the US suburbs between winter and spring, no T.V. – the kids will soon love it."
The buff blonde Agent Simon "Fitz" Fitzpatrick An Ex-CIA agent with a wild imagination and the ability to convince anyone of anything. Fitz's assignment in the Detail Unit is to cover up any and all evidence of alien activity or the existence of the Alliance. This now included anything remote related to magic or supernatural phenomena. Despite the fact he's not fully trained for combat, he comes across as easy going, slightly goofy, and can handle himself if the situation demands it.
"At least that's what we keep telling ourselves." Nema comments sardonically.
Agent Nema Perrera, an olive skinned woman had been recruited from Egyptian National Security. She's a weapons specialist who is paired with Fitz in the Detail Unit. Very logical and practical but with enough of a sense of humor to play Fitz's straight man in their friendly snarking. Her father is an archaeological professor and her mother is a geneticist/biologist who studies blood and body tissue from Egypt's mummies. It was also revealed that her family was descended from Egypt's Old Kingdom dynasties.
"And you want us to see what we can find out about these odd sightings?" Zaira stated with a raised eyebrow.
"Affirmative."
"More importantly whether they're alien or magi- er, something otherworldly?"
Yet even those in the Alliance still had trouble wrapping their mind around the Pantheons' extraordinary secret – particularly on the maternal side of the Pantheon family and the rest of the Enchanted ones.
They've already been travelling most of the early morning driving through Virginia and Maryland via vehicular transport after jetting to North Carolina.
Finally they reached their destination: Madison, Delaware. The population was 28, 245.
"Colonel Logan had us dragged out of Tokyo for all this?" grumbled Sara G.
It looked like one of those old tight knit towns from the 50's except with several modern conveniences: cell towers, a store with the latest in technology, etc.
"Great, a small town that has at least some part of civilization…" Zaira snarked.
"Except we can't use them because we're grounded." Haruna reminded.
Finally the caravan arrived in a residential suburban street lined with tall trees, homes and big yards. They parked right before a particularly large house.
"Alright teens last stop. Thank you for riding with us, please return your seats to the upright position." Fitz joked.
"Just as soon as he gets the van into an even position." Nima adds wryly.
Just down the lane, an unseen figure watches from above. Tony was the first to notice. Whose that?
"Eh, probably the other resident that moved down the lane few years ago, calls himself Mr. Shivers."
"There's something creepy about that Mr. Shivers." Dana remarked uncertainly.
"I'm sure he says the same thing about you." Zaira says snippily, she was still sour about the general situation.
Pouting, Dana turns towards the house. Suddenly in one of the second-floor windows she sees the curtains part and a middle-aged, horn-rimmed spectacled face glaring out at them.
Dana's green eyes grew wide, she whirled around and ran after the girls. "Girls, I saw him! Mr. Shivers!"
To be continued…
Author's note: That's just chapter 1, chapter 2 will be a bit more exciting and insightful.
