Chapter 57: The Notebook.
(Quantic Universe Earth 19274729568301958374, Paris, France, March 10th, 2016, third person POV...)
In the Place des Vosges, Rose is showing her new notebook to Juleka, Marinette, and Alya.
Rose asks, "Pretty, right? When I saw it in the store, I knew I had to get it!"
Juleka remarks, "Awesome."
Alya remarks as well, "It's so you!"
Marinette remarks as well, "And it's pink, just the way you prefer them and like them."
Rose asks, "Why don't you like pink, Marientte?"
Marinette answers, "I may be a colorful kind of girl, but pink is not my cup of tea, if you know what I mean."
Rose then says, "I know pink is not your cup of tea, Marinette, but can't you just show how much you appreciate how colorful pink is?"
Marinette growls as she gives off her Gravemaker gaze, making Rose backtrack, "Nope, never mind!"
Marinette sighs as she says back, "Look, Rose, I know you mean well, but you gotta understand, not every normal girl likes pink. I mean, have you seen my bedroom? There's barely any pink in it. But what matters is you show support for other people's preferences, including when it concerns their favorite colors."
Rose then says, "I know, but pink is just so romantic..."
Marinette asks sharply, "Does everything concerning our current topic go in one ear and out the other, Rose?!"
Rose whimpers before Juleka says, "Rose, you can't force someone like Marinette to accept certain things that girls like. That would be like brain manipulation or mind control. And those are usually superpowers associated with comic book supervillains like Mesmero, one of the enemies of Wolverine."
Chloe then comes up and says, "That is a pretty notebook. But like Marinette, pink isn't exactly a color I would be caught wearing on any of my clothes."
Rose complains, "Oh, come on! Does every girl have to hate pink?"
Juleka then snaps and says, "Rose. Get over it. Not everyone likes the same things because variety of things is part of human life. If everyone across the world liked the same things in the past, in the present day, and in the future, the world would be an extremely boring place. If you don't respect people's likes and preferences, no one is going to respect yours."
Rose takes a calming breath and replies, "You're right, Juleka."
Marinette then takes out an assortment of written stickers and an assortment of emoticon stickers, and the girls put the most important ones on the front and back of Rose's notebook.
Rose then says, "Ah! It's so beautiful! Thank you, Marinette! Thank you, girls! You're the best friends ever!"
Marinette then says, "No problem, Rose. But just remember: even if we go our separate ways after graduating middle school, high school, and college, even though we will lose contact with great friends like each other, the celestial beings of our universe will allow us to gain new ones."
The girls looked shocked and tearfully happy at what Marinette had to say.
Marinette then says, "So I thank you, all of you, for honoring our friendship circles and other friendship shapes with your greatest skills that are naturally hard to come by in some cases."
Even Chloe was brought to happy tears as she hugged Marinette in a bear hug and kissed her face multiple times in happily-aggressive kisses.
Marinette laughs as she says in slight protest, "Hahahahahahahahaha! Okay, Chloe, hahahahahahahaha, stop with the aggressive kissing!"
Chloe steps back and says, "Sorry, Mari; you said something meaningful to us all, and even I want to remember it for years to come."
Nino and Adrien then come up and Nino says as he looks over at Rose's notebook, "Whoa! Way cool, girls! And you outdid yourself with this drawing of a rose flower garden, Marinette!"
Adrien adds, "Yeah, this rose flower garden looks awesome! You're really talented, Marinette."
Marinette replies, "Thank you, boys."
Later, in the Dupain-Cheng living room, Adrien says, "And then, Marinette instantly started bawling when it finally clicked in her head at the end that even without the Allspark being destroyed, Jazz would still be dead because the Allspark wouldn't be able to have enough power to repair his body and revive his spark."
Marinette sighs as she says, "Yes, it's true; every time I see one of my favorite old-time heroes die permanently or temporarily, I start bawling because I hate seeing my favorite heroes die without getting to live to witness or take part in the final battle."
Rose then notices tears streaming down Marinette's face, and she asks concernedly, "Marinette? You're-you're not crying right now, are you?"
Marinette feels her cheeks, and she notices her wet tears on her fingers.
Rose, Juleka, Alya, Chloe, Adrien, and Nino then group-hugged Marinette as she cried her eyes out.
After about five minutes, Marinette started to feel better, if only because she could practically feel the warmth of her friends and her boyfriend metaphorically pouring their support and love into the group-hug.
Chloe then says, "Marinette, I know you don't like to hear me say it, but you really need to go to therapy so that this doesn't continue and/or become a habit."
Marinette replies, "(Sighs deeply) You're right, Chloe. I'll see about talking to my parents about signing me up for therapy at the first opportunity I get to talk to them."
In her bedroom, after everyone else leaves, Marinette looks at her Akuma calendar, and she states gravely, "Oh, dear. Here comes the Despair Bear incident. I hope we'll be prepared for anything that has changed with Chloe being a heroic girl in this timeline rather than a spoiled, unrepentant brat."
The End.
(Author's notes: I'm gonna be honest with you readers: when I first watched the webisodes about Rooftop Dinner and The Notebook for this story, I thought that the animation style for the characters and for the everything else about the Tales from Paris and Miraculous Chibi webisodes, no matter how logical it is to separate the Tales from Paris and the Chibi webisodes from the chronological cartoon and from the Miraculous Secrets webisodes with the same animation style as the mainstream show in question, was absolutely horrendous. Nothing more to it, and nothing less to it.
Anyway, see you all in chapter 58: Cheer Bull vs. Despair Bear.)
