Chapter 259: Done Recording

"What a powerful scene!"

"I don't really understand English, but could anyone tell if his pronunciation was on point?"๐‘ต๐—ˆ๐“ฅ๐šŽ๐“ต๐”ซ๐‘’xt.๐’ธ๐’๐”ช

"Very. British pronunciation with a London accent, to be exact."

"That was so satisfying to listen to!"

"His voicing capabilities are very strong!"

"Bai Zhi really hit treasure this time. This guest will no doubt beat anyone else performing!"

Although it wasn't good to self deprecate, there were still some contestants who said this out loud.

They were all equally skilled, so nobody really bowed down to anybody. Even if they were just being modest for small talk, nobody would go to this extent.

But Meng Fan was really talented, and in all aspects, too. Even if everyone present was a talented actor, they couldn't help but admit defeat. It was a heartfelt and sincere admiration too, even if Meng Fan looked way too young.

What puzzled them even more was that Meng Fan wasn't even in the entertainment circle. This proved true the saying, 'The experts are among the masses'!

At this time, Meng Fan, the 'expert of the masses,' left the stage. He almost headed in the wrong direction until an employee steered him in the right way. He was reunited with the other guest contestants in the front row of the audience and sat down.

The annual show's special guests, the directors, were also in the front row. They welcomingly waved at Meng Fan, patting on the seat next to them. Meng Fan was already prepared to sit next to the big shot emperor and continued walking inwards, sitting next to the State Strategist Zhang.

This made several people's eyes glow with envy.

The Strategist smiled towards Meng Fan. "I heard you're not in the entertainment industry? Have you learned acting before?"

Seeing Meng Fan shake his head, the Strategist smiled vibrantly. Aside from actors with super talent, the Strategist's second favorite kind of recruit are those who are blank sheets. It was best that they didn't have any trace of performance arts on them.

It's no problem that he had no acting foundation. As long as he had the potential, there were plenty of opportunities for him to learn.

And for the Strategist, Meng Fan was oozing with potential.

He was an incredible performer and had very distinct features. Plus, his entire person emanated with a unique charm!

As for his figureโ€ฆ Well, if performance skills could be taught, a good figure was out of the question. He could easily be put in training.

The Strategist's voice became friendlier. He really did like Meng Fan, and he stuck out a branch immediately. "Are you interested in participating in my new movie?"

Meng Fan was dumbfounded. He didn't think the Strategist himself would ask him to participate in a movie. Smiling, he responded: "Thank you, Director Zhang! Only, maybe you don't know, I am an art student, so my future plans should align with art, and I'm really good at drawing, too. If Director Zhang needs some promotional posters done, you can come to me. My hand-drawn posters are top in the world."

Meng Fan's statement sounded very confident, but none of it sounded fake or arrogant. It also didn't imply that the Strategist's question was out of place. Meng Fan rejected him politely and reasonably.

Plus, he managed to sneak a self promo in as well.

He then continued. "Voice acting is my dream and my hobby, but it's related to manga and video games. As for actingโ€ฆ I never thought about it, I guess."

Perhaps it was because of Meng Fan's courteous attitude and demeanor, the Strategist didn't feel like being rejected was that strange after hearing his description. He only slightly felt a little regretful. Of course, he wasn't going to say such a careless statement to Meng Fan that his talent was wasted on drawing. After all, art wasn't any worse than film.

The Strategist, however, appreciated a talented individual. "Change will always happen outside of plans, so don't be so quick to decide. Maybe you will incorporate acting into your plans in the future."

Meng Fan nodded and smiled.

Their conversation had been quite muted, but the guest contestants next to him had heard everything. After hearing the exchange, aside from admiring him, they were also envious. They can't help but want to hit him!

Of course, this was just in their minds. After all, if they really wanted to hit him, they wouldn't win in a fight even if they all attacked him at once.

At this time, Uncle Kai the host had already invited the third group of contestants to PK for the director's test. The format of Bai Zhi and Bai Yueguang's competition had been decided by the Strategist himself. He'd given an easy topic, which allowed both voices to express their full potentials. It was an incredible opportunity to excite the crowd.

Once the director's test ended, both voice acting contestants returned to the external stage, signaling the beginning of the fourth group's act.

For Meng Fan, his field trip to "Voice Legend" concluded with this. If it wasn't because he had to watch from the audience, he really wanted to leave and find a place and enjoy a hearty meal. Until now, he'd been in the studio for six and a half hours. He even missed the lunch hour!

Gurgle.

His stomach wasn't very strong willed, either. Just as he was thinking of food, it began to rumble.

From beside him, the Strategist smiled. "Hungry?"

"Of course! It's already been six hours, right?" Meng Fan nodded eagerly and replied: "Director Zhang, are you hungry?"

The Strategist smiled and nodded.

Meng Fan looked around him. "I don't think they're filming us right now, I'll go grab us some food."

The Strategist was very resilient and shook his head. "I'm okay, you enjoy."

Meng Fan looked towards the others, who were all shaking their heads. Although the camera wasn't filming them, there was still an audience present. It wasn't a good look.

"Alright, I'll go by myself then."

Seeing this, Meng Fan slipped out.

The Mango TV HQ had a cafeteria, and it was dinner time as well. Meng Fan didn't go outside and asked an employee. Shortly after, he'd slipped into the cafeteria.

Mango TV's cafeteria was pretty massive, so the dishes wouldn't be too bad. Meng Fan approached the order window, and asked a few questions. A staff pass could net him a regular combo meal, and if he wanted extra food, he'd have to charge a separate card. Since he didn't bring his staff pass, he went off to charge a card.

"Meng Fan?"

As he was about to charge his card, he heard someone calling his name. After turning around, it was Mr. He whom he'd briefly met during the 11/11 gala.

"What are you doing here?"

After learning of Meng Fan's situation, Mr. He couldn't help but laugh. "You're a special one to slip out of that. Alright, stop charging your card. Let's eat together."

"I don't want to impose."

Meng Fan tried to be modest but did not succeed. In one swoop, he selected several items of food enough to at least feed Mr. He and the people with him.

In one fierce operation, Meng Fan speedily devoured everything. He received the drink Mr. He had offered him and smiled. "Thank you, Mr. He. Next time you're in Hangzhou, let me know. I'll buy you dinner."

Mr. He smiled. "Alright, I'll let you know next time I'm in Hangzhou. Off you go."

Meng Fan strolled back to the set of "Voice Legend" after his meal and, bent over, tiptoed back to his seat. When the Strategist saw Meng Fan pull two pastries out of his pockets and offered him one, he was speechless. He was thinking of me! He waved his hand to decline the offer, though.

Meng Fan then gestured towards the others. Seeing as nobody wanted it, he took the opportunity when nobody was looking and ate both himself.

These people were already very hungry, but they could still resist the urge. After seeing Meng Fan's little operation, they were really exasperatedโ€ฆ

To be honest, for them, watching this was even worse than seeing him reject the Strategist.

How can this kid be so despicable!

Once the fourth group finished recording the 'Classic Voice' segment of their PK, all that was left was for the audience to vote and select a winner.

Of course, the final winner was not Bai Zhi.

It wasn't the TV series' shady business. Since all eight contestants participating in the annual show had been very talented in terms of acting skills, script reading, and dubbing, there were definitely individuals who were more talented than Bai Zhi. And there were at least three of them. It made sense that Bai Zhi didn't win the championship.

As for Meng Fanโ€ฆ Everyone recognized his abilities and talent, but he was still only a guest contestant. People would certainly vote for Bai Zhi because of Meng Fan, but it wouldn't increase the result by much.

After the recording, the show still didn't end. There were still interviews and some scenes that needed to be refilmed. These clips would be inserted throughout the final broadcast.

For example, if a certain contestant performed very well, they would be interviewed regarding how he did it, how long it took, and how difficult it was.

For example, who had the most pressure performing, or how so and so felt about so and so winning the championship. And of course, who performed well and what the others thought. Afterall, mutual industry circlejerk was a necessity.

As a guest contestant, Meng Fan didn't have to supplement any extra footage. The questions they wanted to ask had already been filmed during the promotional video shoot. Maybe it was because he'd performed too well this time, though; he'd been pulled to conduct an interview again.

After all the procedures, it was almost ten in the evening.

Bai Zhi had already finished supplementing her footage and was waiting for Meng Fan. Once he walked out, she snatched his arm. "Take me to a street food market!"

"I think I'll pass?"

Meng Fan heard this and felt his head swell. He smiled bitterly. "I already started a scandal going there with Shan Jin bro last time. If I go with youโ€ฆ"

"What, can the two of us not create a scandal?" Bai Zhi glared at Meng Fan and smiled. "Besides, isn't this a good way to combat gossip? Everyone will know you're a professional bodyguard."

Meng Fan was speechless. "You can do that?"

Bai Zhi's coquettish attitude was quite convincing. She was like a childish girl, shaking Meng Fan's hand. "I haven't shopped around a street food market in a long time, too! And I'm sad I didn't get the championship, I just want to eat some delicious food to cheer me up. That's not asking too much, right?"

"Hmm, how come I can't see a hint of happiness from your demeanor?" Meng Fan smiled. Seeing Bai Zhi glare at him again, he quickly nodded. "OK OK OK, let's go, let's go."

The two exited the Mango TV HQ. The crew and the other staff members were still not off work yet, and the directing group were in a heated meeting, nagging the staff to search through the clips and find what scenes needed to be filmed again before the celebrities left.

"Director Xu, Professor Di."

After the meeting, Director Xu and Professor Di had been discussing some details that needed to be changed when someone entered through the door. It was a staff member from the production lounge, who was also the assistant manager of the TV station's broadcasting department.

Director Xu stood up to greet him. "Manager Jin, what made you grace us with your presence today?"

This Assistant Manager Jin burst out in laughter and said a few jokes to retort. Then, he got to his point. "I heard this time your show invited the kid who beat that K-pop idol to be a guest? Meng Fan, was it?"

Professor Di had gotten up to leave, thinking they had some internal affairs to discuss. After hearing the words 'Meng Fan,' she stopped in her place.

Director Xu nodded. "Yep. Is there a problem?"

Assistant Manager Jin said solemnly. "Director Xu, you must think about this. Although this Meng Fan character had a reason for the fight, everyone, including me, had been rooting for him with our thumbs up. But still, a fight is a fight nonetheless, and it doesn't look good. If he goes on a show, it might negatively impact your ratings. So I want to recommend inviting another guest in his place, and film the segment again. I already watched the ending, and Bai Zhi doesn't win. When the time comes, all you'd have to do is fill in the 'Classic Voice' and the collaboration performance. The camera shots can be edited too, so it won't impact the show in any way."

Director Xu heard this and creased his brows. At this time, Professor Di stood up and interrupted him. "Manager Jin, have you seen his recording?"

"I've heard of him. I hear the results are very good, but I haven't seen it firsthand," he responded.

Professor Di suppressed her voice. "That's the case. Manager Jin, maybe you should watch his clip before discussing this further."

Manager Jin began to laugh. "Professor Di, even if the results were out of this world, would it affect the show in any way? This will not make the fight incident disappear! When the time comes, people will begin to gossip, saying Mango TV invited a violent man onto their show. Then, it would negatively impact us. Besides, he hit a celebrity too, and celebrities are bound to have fans. You also know that K-pop fans start the most drama. We're trying to consider this from all perspectives."

"Manager Jin!"

After Director Xu heard this, the atmosphere in the room began to drop. "It doesn't impact our show. Our crew is very capable of managing ourselves!" He then smiled coldly. "Your so called 'consideration' comes from your advertising department's ties to that K-pop idol's endorsement agency, isn't it?"

Having been discovered, Manager Jin couldn't help but admit. "There's already a foreshadowing that we might break apart, so I have to consider this aspect. After Meng Fan got in that fight, we weren't the first people to invite him to perform. If he really makes it, don't you think it'll be difficult for us to get K-pop contracts in the future?"

Director Xu asked: "Everyone already knows about us inviting him to the show, and we've broadcasted the promotional material as well. We're done recording now too, and you want me to find someone else? Then let me ask you, how will we explain this to the public? Tell them that you were worried the K-pop star won't attend our shows because Meng Fan hit him? Isn't that asking to be scolded!"

Manager Jin had made himself clear, yet director Xu refused to back down. His face began to darken. "It's easy to find an excuse. Just say the results weren't good, and he doesn't fit the show's requirements. It's that easy! It's not like he's from the entertainment industry; this excuse will be perfect!"

Director Xu heard this and immediately asked for someone to bring the clip of Meng Fan's voice acting, handing it over to Manager Jin. "Take a look first before talking."

After watching for a while, Manager Jin's expression looked unsettled. He could tell whether it was good or bad, of course, but this affected their company's profits; it wouldn't be dissipated that easily.

Back and forth, the two began to bicker.

Manager Jin did have a say-so in this matter, but Director Xu had control over his show, not to mention that Director Xu never liked to back down in matters of show quality.

"I will call Bao Zhi myself. If she agreed to shoot again, you'll be okay with this, right?"

Without Director Xu's agreement, he got Bai Zhi's number and called. Bai Zhi, however, didn't even give him a chance to argue.

"Replace him? Only if you replace me, too!"

She said and hung up.

Manager Jin's expression was not pleased as he held the phone.

"I don't believe this. This is part of my jurisdiction, I'm doing this!" Manager Jin became angry as the argument continued. The two decided to find someone at the production center to decide the matter.

Just as they prepared to leave, it so happened that before the production center sent anyone over, the channel GM arrived. He originally came to congratulate Director Xu for the successful recording of "Voice Legend" and its amazing footage, as well as taking the Strategist and others out for dinner. He came in time to see Manager Jin and Director Xu arguing.

"Meng Fan? Tell me what you all think."

The channel GM heard the arguments as he sent a WeChat message.

"Lao Tao, was that person you mentioned Meng Fan?"

"Yes, what did he do now?"

"Nothing. I heard a guy did really well on the show, and the name sounds like this Meng Fan, so I just asked."

"Don't mess with him, or I'd get yelled at!"

The channel GM finished with his WeChat conversation and heard the argument, too. He put away his phone.

He spoke with an upbeat tone, "Lao Jin, Director Xu demands a lot from his program and we have to support that. Your considerations are careful and thorough. However, as TV industry people of Huaxia, we need to have our pride. We cannot lose our pride and sense of honor, we cannot blindly trust outsiders, we have to believe in our own people. Of course, I understand your dilemma. You must have been overworked lately; I'll approve a long break for you. Get some rest."

After he finished speaking, he ignored Manager Jin as he said to Director Xu and Professor Di, "Is Director Zhang still in the lounge? Let's all head over."

The three of them left, leaving Manager Jin with an ashen expression.

Pride, sense of honor cannot be lostโ€ฆ With words like these, Manager Jin knew he was finished!

โ€ฆ

"What's wrong?"

Meng Fan looked curiously at an angry Bai Zhi, who just finished a call.

"Nothing. Just a stupid notice."

Bai Zhi tamped down her anger; she didn't want this to affect Meng Fan or ruin their mood. With Meng Fan acting as bodyguard, they had fun walking around and eating, not having any worries.

Maybe because she felt so safe, Bai Zhi was able to greet and even talk to fans and other people who recognized her along the way. The people were also able to keep a safe distance. Other than talking to her excitedly, none of them did anything over the line.

The scene made Bai Zhi look like a resident of this street food area, with the fans and pedestrians as her neighbors.

Bai Zhi enjoyed the time, which her fans loved to see. Of course, Bai Zhi also got to enjoy many delicious foods.

Who cares if she gained weight. She didn't care about that now; she just wanted to enjoy the moment.

When they got tired, they found a small snack shop to rest and to keep eating.

Happy times always feel so short. After they finished walking the whole street food market, they had eaten everything and it was time to go.

"Little Fan, what if we walked back? It'd be a nice walk. You're here to protect me anyway."

Bai Zhi wanted to call Sun, but she decided against it. She wanted to walk back.

Meng Fan agreed as the walk wasn't far.

โ€ฆ

"How nice!"

Bai Zhi hugged the jacket Meng Fan took off for her. She shivered as she said happily, "It has been so long since I walked like this."๐‘ต๐—ˆ๐“ฅ๐šŽ๐“ต๐”ซ๐‘’xt.๐’ธ๐’๐”ช

"That's easy to fix. Come out and walk more."

"It's not that simple."

"If you're a homebody, don't use the fans as an excuse. Are most people in your industry really homebodies?"

"A lot of them are. Other than work, they like to stay home."

"It's nice staying home, as long as you're comfortable. Why do you have to go out? After walking around so much, you'll realize staying home โ€” playing games and being on the phone โ€” is the most relaxing. Plus, you don't have to wash your hair. That's important for girls, right?"

"That's true. They say you can tell a girl takes you seriously if she's willing to wash her hair to come see you."

"โ€ฆ"

The two of them chatted as they soon arrived back at the hotel. After Bai Zhi returned to her room, she took off Meng Fan's jacket, carefully folded it, and called back Director Xu. Her expression was completely different now.

"Director Xu, now can you tell me what's going on?"

โ€ฆ

The next morning, Meng Fan did his usual jog, then waited to have breakfast with Bai Zhi. He then left for the airport.

Bai Zhi wasn't flying to Hu City; she was flying to Dian Province. Meng Caiwei was shooting a movie there, and she got a supporting role, which was no less important than the leads in some big productions.

Meng Fan flew by himself back to Hangzhou City. He landed around ten in the evening. He didn't tell anyone he was back as he got a taxi to go straight to the dojo near Huanglong Stadium.

Chapter 261: Chapter 261: Feng Ji Dojo

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Around 11 p.m., with every traffic light turning green, the taxi reached the area by Huanglong Stadium. The car stopped in front of a martial arts dojo known as Feng Ji.

After getting paid, the taxi driver couldn't resist looking at Meng Fan as he exited the car. The man looked familiar, but he couldn't remember the name. The taxi driver didn't think anything of the green lights along the way; it must have been good karma from his good deed of helping an elderly person cross the street yesterday.

The Feng Ji Dojo was quite big. Meng Fan thought the place looked impressive online. As he walked inside, he felt the same.

"Hello, how may I help you?"

The young woman working at reception looked at the newcomer, a professional and sweet smile pasted on her face.

The front desk employee was very pretty, and she wasn't the only one in reception. There were four of them, all of whom were attractive.

Having this many attractive receptionists meant this dojo was quite profitable.

"Hi, I'm here to learn."

Meng Fan explained the purpose of his visit and his demand: "Can you give me the best coach you have?"

"All of our coaches are excellentโ€ฆ" The front desk employee started to recite the standard spiel. She was about to ask Meng Fan to join as a member when she paused, excitement showing on her face. "Are youโ€ฆ you are the Iron Hero!"

Meng Fan smiled and nodded. "If there's no one else with this nickname, it's probably me."

This kind of reputation was useful in situations like this. After the receptionist recognized Meng Fan, he was ushered into the VIP room. Soon after, the best coach Meng Fan wanted also arrived.

If one did not at least apply for a membership, then even if you get a coach, you wouldn't be guaranteed the best one. For people who went to the front desk like Meng Fan, coaches were assigned internally on a 'first come, first serve' basis. If one wanted to change coaches, it would require waiting, more money, or buying a training package, etc.

A 30-something man with a strong physique and intense gaze walked in. He shook hands with Meng Fan and introduced himself. "Hi, Mr. Meng. I'm Yang Feng, the chief coach at Feng Ji Dojo."

"Hello, Coach Yang."

Yang Feng asked Meng Fan to sit. He gave Meng Fan a glass of water delivered by the front desk employee and asked directly, "What would you like to learn? Would you like a group class, or one-on-one classes?"

"One-on-one classes."

Meng Fan answered honestly. "I want to learn some practical fighting techniques, and I want to learn them fast."

"Fighting techniques are no problem, but doing it fastโ€ฆ"

Yang Feng shook his head and smiled. He didn't mock or belittle the comment as he has heard it many times before. Of course, no matter how stupid the students seemed, they wouldn't be turned away. He answered patiently, "Mr. Meng, there's no shortcut to learning martial arts. The best way is to customize a training plan and start from the basics. If you just learned some quick tricks or hacks, then it's like building a sandcastle: not sturdy. Also, I wanted to ask, what is your purpose in studying here? If it's for fitness or weight loss, you'd need a more systematic training."

Meng Fan thought Yang Feng's advice was correct, though he wasn't sure if there was some membership sales pitch in there. He didn't care about that. He insisted, "I'm trying to learn some practical fighting skills. I don't need systemic training."

He had no choice. There's not enough time for a systemic learning period.

When Yang Feng looked like he wanted to persuade him more, Meng Fan continued, "Coach Yang, you could give me a customized quick-learning plan. I can pay twice the usual tuition."

Yang Feng shook his head. "This is not a matter of tuition."

Meng Fan replied, "Triple the rate, then. You can make it happen."

Yang Feng said with resignation, without nodding or shaking his head, "This isn't about money. How about this, Mr. Meng: Let's do a physical assessment and see your condition. Then we can customize a training plan depending on your level."

"Great."

Meng Fan followed Yang Feng to a room dedicated to physical assessment, which had all sorts of equipment.

After a round of assessment, Yang Feng was surprised by the data. The numbers were very unusual. But then he realized, an Iron Hero would have extraordinary strength. As for the weaker charging and balancing power, it's understandable considering Meng Fan's physique.

Meng Fan's reaction speed really surprised Yang Feng, how was he this fast? Especially his hands.

Of course, Yang Feng only knew of Meng Fan's fight with the K-pop star. If he knew how quick Meng Fan drew as well, he would understand.

Yang Feng was very professional. He found several coaches and quickly designed a training plan for Meng Fan.

Thai boxing, taekwondo, karate, jeet kune do, and Chinese kickboxing, etc., weren't right for Meng Fan. Boxing was a good match for Meng Fan's power and reaction speed. Judo and wrestling would also be good for him given Meng Fan's body type.

However, with Meng Fan's emphasis on quick learning, focusing on one craft wasn't suitable. The best way would be to pick one school of martial arts for his training.

After a careful analysis, he figured that both hitting and kicking techniques weren't the best for him.

Wrestling!

Snatching!

While his coaches were planning his custom training, Meng Fan was given a tour of the dojo by an employee. On one hand, the dojo could show off its equipment, scale, and professionalism. On the other hand, Meng Fan could observe a class in progress.

The class seemed really professional. Meng Fan initially wanted the coach to let him show off his strength; now he thought better of it. Otherwise, it'd have been awkward.

"Wrestling and snatching? Is it wrestling and snatching people?"

Meng Fan's eyes turned bright as he heard the words. These professionals knew what they were doing; they figured out his strength right away. The techniques sounded great, and thinking of what he'd seen in movies, Meng Fan thought they would be great for him.๐‘ต๐—ˆ๐“ฅ๐šŽ๐“ต๐”ซ๐‘’xt.๐’ธ๐’๐”ช

"They're techniques for wrestling and snatching."

Yang Feng seemed compulsive as he corrected the words. Then he told Meng Fan, "If you think it's suitable, let's get started on these two skills. I'm good with these two skills as well, so I can teach you. Would that work?"

"Of course."

Meng Fan could tell from the coaches Yang Feng sent earlier that Yang Feng was the best here โ€” or at least one of the best โ€” so he wasn't trying to fool him.

"Go and change first."

Yang Feng called over an employee who took Meng Fan to go change. Before changing, Meng Fan insisted on paying first.

Chapter 262: Chapter 262: Brazilian Jiu-jitsu

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

According to Meng Fan's demand, he was given eight custom classes with various duration. The longest class was two hours and the shortest was one hour, which meant the training would take three days to complete.

It was a quick-learning regimen.

Basically, the coaches would teach everything they could, and how much was actually learnt was up to Meng Fan.

Meng Fan said so himself, in order to put the coaches at ease.

There were only classes for three days. Meng Fan didn't care how they turned out, he paid for everything in full. He didn't ask if Yang Feng really charged him at triple the rate, he just paid what they asked.

The price wasn't low, but Meng Fan didn't care about the money.

So he paid the tuition. He just hoped the coaches would teach him well.

After paying the tuition and changing into a uniform, Meng Fan went with an employee to a special training room for Yang Feng. At this time, Yang Feng had also changed into his own uniform.

Meng Fan had done some research. Yang Feng's uniform was either for wrestling or judo; as for the black belt he wore, he didn't know if it was authentic.

The uniform fell open in the chest area, maybe intentionally, revealing quite a bit of muscles, which looked convincing.

Yang Feng said proudly, "I'm a champion of the national judo competition. I'm a level one black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. BJJ isn't like other martial arts, which just need five or six years. A BJJ black belt needs at least 10 years, and you need to earn it by competing."

Meng Fan didn't understand all of his lecture, though the words sounded impressive. He didn't know the truth to them nor did he care to find out. He didn't care if Coach Yang was amazing himself, as long as he could teach well.

Just like many fighting disciplines, the boxing coach might not be the best boxer himself, but he'd know boxing really well.

Meng Fan didn't have big requirements, he just wanted the coach to know his discipline.๐‘ต๐—ˆ๐“ฅ๐šŽ๐“ต๐”ซ๐‘’xt.๐’ธ๐’๐”ช

Apparently, Yang Feng didn't think his explanation was enough. He clapped his hands and in walked two students also dressed in BJJ uniforms. Both of them were burly and tall; one had a white belt, the other had a blue belt.

Meng Fan didn't know what the belts meant.

He just knew the black belt was very powerful. The movies always glamorized it, like so and so was a black belt, level one, and so on.

While the black belt seemed to be the strongest, there were belts above the black belt level. In BJJ, black belts had nine levels. Level seven had a red-black belt, and level nine and above had a red belt.

Of course, if one knew the discipline, they would realize a level nine black belt was not necessarily the best. The levels weren't decided by competitions alone but by the length of teaching one has done. Also, the red-black belt and the red belt were earned by making special contributions to BJJ.

Most strong competitors were found in level one through three in black belt. Those who were higher-level may be more experienced in skills, but with more time needed to reach those levels, they were also older in age.

The saying "the fists fear the young" was true.

"BJJ is the best martial arts for fighting in the world!"

Yang Feng was very proud of his discipline, he didn't even say "one of" in his statement.

"Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is a martial arts discipline featuring the art of subduing, known for its snatching techniques, and combining fighting and self-defense in one. BJJ not only dominates subduing-style wrestling, it is also a critical part of the fighting strategy for mixed martial arts or MMA. It is the best martial arts for dominating with gentleness and overpowering with subtlety."

After going on and on about things Meng Fan didn't quite understand, Yang Feng continued: "The wrestling and snatching techniques I mentioned earlier are all part of BJJ. They are very advanced and scientific, with real fighting significance and needs. Plus, BJJ has critical locking techniques. You might have some understanding of BJJ and judo before, I will not teach them to you. They're dangerous in a way. Of course, I will teach you some of their key components as part of wrestling."

Speaking of the spirit of martial arts, Yang Feng looked serious. "I hope you don't use what you learned here on the weak or civilians, and definitely not for illegal things."

Meng Fan hurriedly nodded.

Yang Feng stopped talking as he asked the two students to help him complete a series of moves: takedown, snatch, lock and more, just to show Meng Fan.

Meng Fan watched with interest. He actually learned some techniques this way, and this was thanks to Observation skill 4. Of course, just watching wasn't doing, he still needed professional teaching.

But with stronger Observation skills, his learning skills also became stronger.

While the students cooperated in the demonstration, Meng Fan could tell Yang Feng was a strong fighter.

After the demonstration, Yang Feng helped Meng Fan warm up, then, the lesson began.

"Takedowns are very important in BJJ. To be blunt, BJJ's essence is floor work. Takedowns are about bringing your opponent to the floor."

Yang Feng signaled Meng Fan to move forward, then grabbed his hand to put on his own body. He said, "I'll teach you how to do the most basic in standing takedowns: the over-the-shoulder throw. First, grab your opponent's hand and put it on yourself. If possible, pin the hand with your arm. Like this: grab the elbow, move it up, and pin it down. You want to be close to the opponent to apply your strength better, and to also make the other guy lose his center of gravity."

Immediately afterwards, Yang Feng turned away from the arm he locked on Meng Fan while hugging his waist with another hand. He said, "The way we're now, we can also do a Huaxia Style close-up takedown, but you'll be more likely to be struck down. Now, I need to move my foot in front of you. This is an easy pose. Notice the position of my hips, I'm propped against you now. If I straightened my leg, I could use my hand around your waist to lean in, and use my hip to take you down. Pay attention, I'm starting now."

Yang Feng spoke as he used his power to try to throw Meng Fan, thenโ€ฆ nothing happened. Meng Fan was still where he was, not moving an inch.

Yang Feng checked his move, it was fine. He tried again, using even more strength than before, but still nothing happened!

"Ahem!" Yang Feng coughed awkwardly. "Well, to learn to do takedowns, you first need to be thrown yourself. Don't be nervous, feel how I use my power. The floor is cushioned. You won't feel hurt."

Chapter 263: Takedown

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

He couldn't move!

He grabbed on, found his footing, and got into position. But he couldn't flip him!

This made Yang Feng feel very awkward.

Yang Feng was aware of his nickname, the Iron Hero, and had watched the video of Meng Fan's fight as well. American style MMA fighting was very exciting to watch, but he could tell Meng Fan didn't have much skills. Even if he snuck up on him from behind, his strength would be powerful. Even if he didn't watch the video, Yang Feng would still be able to make that analysis.

But Yang Feng didn't think he'd be unflippable!

He just said Brazilian Jiu-jitsu favored those who were weak and flexible. This sentence wasn't even to brag, or used to compare. It was a generally accepted rule of the sport.

Strength wise, he knew he was nowhere near Meng Fan, since Meng Fan's figure already proved that to be true.

But there was a technique to flip someone over the shoulder. No matter how you put it, there was a certain level of scientific principles involved. But how come this science didn't work when it came to Meng Fan?

"Uhm, sorry. I was a bit nervous."

Meng Fan was scared of being hurt. After all, he'd never been hit by anyone as a kid, except maybe tripping over himself. Even if he'd been hit before, he had almost zero experience with it. Of course he was afraid of pain.

He forced himself to loosen up. "Relax, try again."

Yang Feng heard this and tried once again. This time, he was able to flip Meng Fan, but not far. He could only bring Meng Fan around his body, from behind his feet to in front of him. The move didn't look smooth, and even warped his actions a bit.

Yang Feng could confirm he could flip someone over 200 pounds, but he couldn't help but suspect that Meng Fan was heavier than 200 pounds, and was tense as well.

And thisโ€ฆ this f*cking felt awful!

He'd volunteered to give a demonstration, and even requested that his opponent hold back. In the end, he wasn't even successful in flipping him!

He gave up!

No matter how hard he tried, he wasn't going to flip him. He couldn't let Meng Fan completely relax either; if your opponent was completely relaxed, it'd be easy to get injured.

Yang Feng wasn't willing to sacrifice his students' well being for a successful demonstration.

The two students that had been called up for the demonstrations were still inside the practice room. They both had shocked expressions adorning their faces.

They recognized Meng Fan as well and were just thinking that this Iron Hero was made of steel. Even the head coach couldn't flip him. How strong and heavy was this guy?

They were familiar with Yang Feng. Although some people said Yang Feng's national championship wasn't an official one, he was still a champion. And his black belt wasn't a joke, either. Based on combat skills alone, Yang Feng was the top player in the entire martial arts academy.

After all, he had a black belt in BJJ. The other coaches in the academy weren't even close to being Yang Feng's rival even if they were just exchanging fists, let alone proper taekwondo. One snatch and a flip, with a sweep and a lockโ€ฆ nobody in the martial arts academy could deal with Yang Feng's technique.

What was a black belt in BJJ? That would be someone who had mastered all the techniques correctly and to advance, and had enough competition experience and achieved excellent results. BJJ could only be taught by those who possessed a black belt.

But no matter how strong and brilliant Head Coach, Yang Feng was, even in position, he couldn't flip Meng Fan!

The two faced each other, internally giving each other the thumbs up. In unison, they said the words 'that's messed up' under their breath.

"Long Tao, Ah Bin."

While the two had their mouths agape, Yang Feng gestured for them to come forward.

Yang Feng was unable to flip Meng Fan, but he had to continue the lesson. Hence, he called two people over and directed Long Tao to stand beside him. "Let him assist you with your training. I'll flip him once, and you watch. I'll break down the technique as I go."

As he spoke, he began to flip. He then asked Meng Fan: "Am I clear? Did you see?"

Meng Fan had his Observation skills. He'd just witnessed Yang Feng's power, plus an explanation. He'd understood most of it.

Yang Feng gestured again, signaling for Ah Bin to stand next to Meng Fan.

He then step by step went over how to snatch, how to stand, how to position himself, and where the strength comes from. He continued to warn Meng Fan about things he should be mindful of, as he was very concerned that Meng Fan would be too powerful. He didn't want him to break his students on the first flip.

"You don't need to use a lot of strength, just get a feel for the technique."

Yang Feng once again cautioned, then gave Meng Fan the green light.

Thump.

Meng Fan used a little energy and effortlessly flipped Ah Bin.๐‘ต๐—ˆ๐“ฅ๐šŽ๐“ต๐”ซ๐‘’xt.๐’ธ๐’๐”ช

"You should now have a grasp on how hard to flip someone, right?"

Yang Feng had been watching carefully, and saw no issues with his technique. "Just now, you were already in position. Now, try again, starting from the snatch. Remember, you can control how hard they hit the ground."

"Ok."

Meng Fan nodded and smiled at Ah Bin, whose face had gone pale. Meng Fan then reached out, latched onto Ah Bin, lifted his elbow and raised it, then hugged his waist, moved his feet, and jutted out his hips. Thump. Ah Bin was flipped once again.

Meng Fan was able to control his strength, and his moves looked clean and elegant. He didn't hit the ground too hard and felt similar to how Ah Bin's normal practices went.

Ah Bin sighed in relief. He'd been worried that this Iron Tower would fling him out the window. And he knew Meng Fan was capable of it, too; he could at least fling him three meters out!

To be honest, Meng Fan's flip just now was already very flawless, but Yang Feng continued to provide pointers. He was a coach after all; it wouldn't be fitting if he didn't say anything.

After going over it again, he told Meng Fan to flip Ah Bin once again, but faster this time.

Thump!

"Beautiful!"

This time, Yang Feng couldn't help but commend him.

He knew Meng Fan was powerful and would have an easier time learning how Jiu-jitsu worked compared to other people. The saying "one strong person could fight ten soldiers" was very fitting here. If he had been weak, it'd be difficult for him to flip anyone, with no care for details. When someone was strong enough to do as they please, the details will come naturally.

But he didn't expect Meng Fan to learn this fast!

Yang Fang naturally didn't know that this was attributed to Meng Fans attributes of 7 Strength, 4 Observation, and 16 Hand Speed. Increasing Hand Speed also allowed for him to better control his hand strength and, of course, you could add the 11 Imagination as well. A powerful Imagination allowed Meng Fan to picture everything in his mind perfectly before doing it. This was applied when he was learning the basics of shot put and javelin.

Alright, his Throwing Precision attribute was also helpful. After all, Jiu-jitsu was related to throwing accuracy as well. At least, it came in handy when he aimed.

After practicing the shoulder-to-shoulder fall several times, Yang Feng saw that Meng Fan had fully grasped the essentials and could only continue with the lesson.

"Now, I'll teach you the second stance for flipping, back-to-back flip, which are all similar to the shoulder flip. There are a few differences to note, as are the distinct characteristics of back-to-back flipping. First is the position you stand in. The back-to-shoulder flip requires you to stand sideways, while the back-to-back flip requires you to stand half sideways. Second is the way you use your strength. Shoulder-to-back flips require a smooth flow of motion, while the latter requires your feet to coordinate with your body to twist and use your power unanimously. Like this."

Yang Feng asked for Long Tao to come over and demonstrated for Meng Fan to see. He then taught Meng Fan, step by step, to apply these techniques to Ah Bin.

After the first try, he instructed him to begin from a snatch.

Two more flips later, Yang Feng was speechless once again.

Next was the assisted flip, followed by the hand twisted flip and the neck flip. These techniques were divided into upper body and lower body, and required different standing positions.

Then, it was the more complicated body slam. Of course, he would only teach him the leg lock and the leg-and-arm lock. Anything more difficult than these, he would refrain from teaching. It wasn't because he was afraid Meng Fan couldn't learn, but because the technique was too dangerous and could hurt someone else.

Yang Feng felt Meng Fan would very easily pick up the techniques for those super violent body slams, but once used, these techniques could seriously injure someone.

Even other more complex forms of wrestling, he had refrained from teaching. He'd only gone over the basic techniques with Meng Fan.

But Yang Feng felt that he could increase the difficulty.

Originally, Yang Feng had prepared three lessons to teach Meng Fan the basic techniques for flipping. Seeing his progress, he felt one class was enough.

Not only did he lament at the learning abilities of this Iron Tower, he also marveled at how fast he was able to pick up the techniques. Looking back, it wasn't even a perfect replication of his own moves; he felt like in some aspects, Meng Fan had mastered details even more precisely than himself.

He thought to himselfโ€ฆ Did this guy mean crash course not in the broad sense, but because he was capable of learning through a crash course?

He checked the time and looked at Long Tao and Ah Bin, who had been rotating at Meng Fan's "service." They were starting to be fatigued. Yang Feng thought for a moment. "Mr. Meng, let's take a break. Let's grab lunch first, and after resting, we can continue in the afternoon to digest the rest of these wrestling skills."

Yang Feng was scared that if he continued to teach, he'd finish all three lessons in one class. He needed to rest for a while.

Chapter 264: Thousand Hand Snatch

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

The Feng Ji Dojo had a special cafeteria. Aside from providing work meals for the staff, it also provided nutritional meals for the students.

Of course, you had to pay extra for the nutritional meal.

But with a big client like Meng Fan, Yang Feng wasn't going to make him pay the extra fees.

Nutritional meals were healthy, of course. Beef, chicken breast, fish, shrimp, broccoli, corn, and assorted vegetables. There were also fruits. But the flavorโ€ฆ Meng Fan was not used to it.

Wu Tong had prepared a similar meal for Meng Fan before. It had been specifically catered for Meng Fan's 'figure' at the time by a cousin of hers, who claimed to be some sort of a nutritionist.

If he had followed the nutritional diet she'd recommended, he would have lost weight fast. However, Meng Fan refused. It wasn't because he thought it was troublesome, but because he couldn't let go of the mouthwatering food he loved so much. He had relied on his terrifying exercise regimen to get to where he was now.

"Iron God."

Long Tao and Ah Bin were eating alongside each other. After a few bites in, they couldn't help but begin to gossip. "Are you really dating Shan Jin bro?"

Meng Fan shook his head. "Nope. Didn't her office silence the rumors?"

"Then what's your relationship?"

"What's she like in person?"

Once the first question came out, an avalanche of questions followed. What followed was even more curiosity. After all, several people were curious about their relationship. Usually, they'd only talk amongst themselves, but this time, they met an 'informed person.' They couldn't let this opportunity go.

Meng Fan's head swelled. "Uhm, can we talk about something else. Like, how did you guys meet? Did you grow up together? How did you feel when you first learned each other's names?"

Hearing Meng Fan's question, the two went sour.

They finished eating, took a break, and began their afternoon lesson.

Meng Fan had paid a lot, and since he'd asked for a personal trainer, Yang Feng had found someone else to substitute his afternoon class. Ah Bin and Long Tao were getting used to being practiced on as well, so he was able to adjust the combat class and incorporate the two as well.

Toward this, Ah Bin and Long Tao had no complaints. Yang Feng's physical combat course was not cheap; they would essentially be attending a free lesson.

Besides, Meng Fan had a certain charm about him. Even if the two would spend the afternoon being flipped over and over again, they were still willing to spend time with him.

After all, being body slammed was part of the combat experience.

Once you get used to being slammed by the Iron Hero, it would be difficult for other people to flip you.

Hm. Although this thought was a bit excessive, it was what the two genuinely believed.

Of course, in the physical combat class, it was definitely not required that the two be flipped while just standing. They were free to flip Meng Fan too, but they couldn't lift him at all.

After ten minutes, Meng Fan was experienced in body slamming and even felt a rush of joy when he performed one successfully.

Moreover, actual physical combat was somewhat different from practice.

During practice, the practice partner stood in front of you to receive your attacks. But in real life, the opponent can dodge your attacks, which require Meng Fan to spend more time on his offense. Once he was able to snatch the person, he'd still have to adjust his posture.

The difference was not big, but Meng Fan's snatching abilities became too strong because of his Hand Speed. Meng Fan would snatch wherever he pleased with lightning speed and, as long as they were standing in front of him โ€” regardless how much they tried to dodge, or whether Ah Bin had a white belt, and Long Tao had a blue belt โ€” he would reach them. Unless they turned and fled, of course.

Although it took Meng Fan longer to adjust his position and posture, the opponent he snatched could only wait until he switched his position to be flipped.

He was too powerful; there was no use struggling!

As Meng Fan gained physical combat skills, the two realized Meng Fan's adjustment speed increased as well.

After forty minutes, he was basically able to snatch and body slam his opponent right away.

"This won't work!"

Yang Feng muttered to himself from the side. The more he watched, the more it felt like he was practicing techniques instead of physical combat. The two practicing with Meng Fan were not enough to hold him and looked like wood poles as they neared the end of practice.

Yang Feng also discovered Meng Fan's specialty; his hand speed.

He was previously aware of this attribute, but it had gotten even faster over some practice.

The speed of his snatchesโ€ฆ

Yang Feng clapped his hands and gestured for Meng Fan to pause. "Take a break. Next, I'll teach you the submission technique. Your hand speed is very fast, and this suits you more. It will immensely increase your combat abilities."

Meng Fan heard this and felt slightly disappointed. He thought Yang Feng would step up and fight himself. To be honest, Meng Fan's ego had inflated greatly from this round of combat. But he really felt Ah Bin and Long Tao were quite weak and not enough for him. At least when he did a body slam on them, he was scared to exert strength. If it had been Yang Feng, flipping him would be much more satisfying.๐‘›๐‘œ๐’ฑ๐”ข๐“ต๐“ƒ๐–Šxt.๐œ๐“ž๐“‚

Of course, an inflated ego was one thing, but he wasn't arrogant enough to face off against a Brazillian jiu-jitsu black belt. If Yang Feng held back and only practiced strangleholds, Meng Fan was confident he could win.

To be honest, Long Tao was not weak at all, possessing a blue belt. He had begun learning boxing before starting Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Normally, he could do a one-vs-three or four with no problem, and that wasn't an exaggeration. Because of his foundation in boxing, he had neared attaining a purple belt more than a few times.

Only, it was unfortunate he ran into an unreasonable guy like Meng Fan.

Long Tao felt like Meng Fan could reach a brown belt level if he tried.

But to Meng Fan, the biggest disappointment was still the System!

Coupled with the actual combat throughout the lesson, he'd flipped and been flipped over a hundred times. But still, the system didn't trigger any wrestling related tasks.

Where's the promised experience!

Wasn't it supposed to trigger a task once he tried something?

He even persevered and kept going, too!

He had decided to train temporarily so he could deal with the "trip to Singapore." But more importantly, he'd done so to trigger more tasks.

Did the System really not have any wrestling related tasks?

Or had he not done enough?

But up until now, there hasn't been a task that was this difficult to trigger. If one existed, it should have awoken long agoโ€ฆ Maybe there really wasn't a wrestling title.

Meng Fan could only swallow his disappointment and adjust his attitude. Based on his current conditions and knowledge, he'd already gained the strength that took ordinary people years of practice to achieve. In comparison, his old self was even able to stop the hijackers before his rebirth, even more so now.

Alright. The cost of his hard work back then was very high as well.

Meng Fan was looking forward to learning about submission.

After resting, Yang Feng began the lesson.

Snatching came in handy during submission as well. Basically, it was the 'how to grab' part that needed to be taught. Yang Feng had explained this method and asked Meng Fan to test it out, analyzing him during the process. He'd focused on teaching Meng Fan how to dodge while snatching as well, when Meng Fan began to snatch at him, causing Yang Feng to speed up this part of the lesson.

Yang Feng was helpless as well. There was no avoiding Meng Fan's snatches!

He felt even more helpless than when he tried to flip Meng Fan. He could blame the latter on Meng Fan's weight, but what's his excuse for being unable to dodge Meng Fan? He was too fast?

After skipping this part, Yang Feng also increased the difficulty. He was out of ideas. He was worried Meng Fan wouldn't be able to control his strength and hurt his opponent, so he began to teach him joint locking techniques. This would teach Meng Fan to use joint locking to overcome his opponent and also teach him what methods could cause injuries. He didn't have to use blind strength; after all, Meng Fan was strong enough to break someone in half!

"These six are the easiest basics for submission. You already have accuracy and speed, so it should be easy to learn. If you want to be roughโ€ฆ uhm, let's hold back from that for now."

"As for submission, you can use it in combination with the throwing techniques, before or after is up to you. Next, we will talk about how to combine submission and takedowns."

"The throwing and takedown techniques I taught you before only showed you how to flip an opponent. But it is not enough to win. There are many ways to make your opponent surrender. In both judo and jiu-jitsu, they are collectively referred to as submission. The 'sub' comes from the word for sleeping space, or a bedroomโ€ฆ And bedrooms feature locking techniquesโ€ฆ"

"And then let's talk about the capture; this time, it's about encapsulation. This method can also be used to overtake your opponent. Most opponents won't be able to handle the pain in their joints and surrender. Of course, in BJJ, the capture technique is more often used to increase your snatching precision. After successfully using the capture technique, the success rate of your takedown will increase."

He had explained a lot, all of which required a high level of rational understanding. They then started practicing. This time, Yang Feng didn't ask for Long Tao or Ah Bin and decided to demonstrate to Meng Fan himself.

He was still worried about Meng Fan overexerting. Especially because Meng Fan now had to combine it with the takedown techniques too, and he was worried Ah Bin and Long Tao couldn't take the force. The practice had been divided into two techniques: capture then takedown, and take down then capture. Then, they practiced capture then takedown then capture.

Thump thump.

He couldn't escape his fate of being taken down by Meng Fan. After practicing a few times, Meng Fan was able to successfully grasp the capture and takedown. Meng Fan was so strong that Yang Feng couldn't even use his chasm of escape strategies, afraid of a novice like Meng Fan overexerting when he broke free. If that happened, he would really be in trouble.

Everytime Yang Feng was grabbed by Meng Fan, he'd choose to thump the floor.

Soon, the sound of thumping could be heard from outside the practice room.

Practicing martial arts was similar to practicing sports. Several movements and actions were very easily misunderstood. Like how the easiest way to suppress an opponent was through the riding position, followed by the semi-riding positionโ€ฆ

"Ding!"

After practicing for a bit longer, an alert suddenly appeared in his head.

"Ding! You've triggered the task [Thousand Hand Snatch]."

"The task requires you to properly use the snatch technique 1000 times against an opponent."

"Upon completion, you will receive the title [Thousand Hand Snatch] (Snatching abilities 10, Hand Speed 3)."

There was only one Task Phase, and he would gain 100 points from finishing it.

Thump thump thump!

"Let go!"

Yang Feng pounded the floor several times as Meng Fan ignored him. Habitually, he tried to struggle, but Meng Fan was firmly pressing him down. Immediately, cold sweat started to drip from his forehead, and he could only cry out for help.

Chapter 265: Switch It Up

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

"Huh? Oh, okay!"

Meng Fan finally responded and stopped daydreaming, loosening his grip.

"Let's take a break!"

Yang Feng grimaced as he embraced his snatched arm. This guy is way too strong, he doesn't need any more lessons on reacting to the snatch!

Meng Fan was a bit embarrassed. He handed Yang Feng a bottle of water and headed to the side to check out his new task.

"It finally triggered!"

He'd waited so long for this, and it finally came.

Once the task began, it meant everything he was putting in would be rewarded. Exponentially, too!

Meng Fan had come here for this reason.

Only, he was still slightly confused.

How come it took so many snatches and takedowns to trigger it?

And he'd been practicing it for a while, too.

Could it beโ€ฆ the System didn't have any tasks related to takedowns on its own?

He looked closely at the newly triggered task, Thousand Hand Buddhaโ€ฆ No, [Thousand Hand Snatch]. The task required to subdue an opponent 1,000 times with the snatching techniqueโ€ฆ Then, could he only use the snatching technique? Or if he overcame an opponent 10,000 times, would it be considered 10,000 snatches?

Of course, Meng Fan was just complaining to himself. He knew there was some Wuxia master that went by this nickname. Meng Fan assumed the System was too lazy to come up with a title and took someone else's nickname. After all, there previously existed the 'Travelling Deity' from "Water Margin."

The rewards from the task were not bad either. Snatching skills 10, which should be the skill level he would be at once he completed the task anyways.

There were no task phases.

This reward was kind of like an epiphany that occured as you practiced.

Was it hard to beat 1,000 opponents?

It would be very difficult, but with Meng Fan's added stats and figure, he won't have trouble completing it.

Most importantlyโ€ฆ Meng Fan saw that his experience was already at 10/1,000. This meant that Meng Fan had beaten Yang Feng ten times with his capture techniques before triggering this task.

Besides, this experience also revealed one of the most important pieces of information. That is, it counted as points even if you continually defeated the same person.

If it required Meng Fan to really beat 1,000 people in combat, then he'd be done for. Where would he find so many people? Could you just snatch at anyone you pull from off the street?

Wait!

Meng Fan suddenly thought of something. Could it be that the failure of triggering the task was related to him being unable to overtake his opponents?

But if Yang Feng relied only on takedowns to win matches, it would be very difficult. Unless he straight up knocked them out and they couldn't get up.

Regardless if it was practice or real life combat, Meng Fan had ended the match after flipping them over.

But even after knowing this, it was hard to try it out.

Goddamn!

Whatever, best not to bite off more than he could chew. Even if he triggered another achievement task now, he wouldn't be able to complete it anyways. He would try to complete [Thousand Hand Snatch] before leaving for Singapore. Based on his Hand Speed, and the 3 granted from the title, and his black magic technologyโ€ฆ He shouldn't have a problem dealing with the 'air hijackers' this time round.

Yes, 'air hijackers.' Meng Fan would treat this visit to Singapore as an air hijacking and as one that he had to face as well. Although he could avoid it, Meng Fan was still worried there would be a shadow in his heart for the rest of his life.

Better begin!

After receiving this task, Meng Fan felt even more motivated!

But soon, Yang Feng was done.

"Let's stop at that today. You're a fast learner, and very efficient. Take a break. Tomorrowโ€ฆ Come back tomorrow afternoon for your lesson."

Yang Feng was exhausted. He'd taught for so long, yet he'd never been so cowardly. Even if he took on some big name students who required his cooperation, he'd never been forced to surrender so soon. And this guy didn't even respond to his surrender, either!

Especially near the end. Yang Feng felt like this guy was making a fool out of him, his attacks fast and fierce. He didn't even have to use his snatching skills.

Meng Fan looked at his experience bar. 84/1,000. Alright, it was very fast progress. Based on this, he could gain about 100 points each hour, meaning he could finish the task in 10 hours.

Of course, this kind of task should be done as soon as possible. If there was more time, he hoped to trigger some more tasks.

"Uhm, Coach Yang."

Meng Fan tugged on Yang Feng and almost snatched him out of habit. "I think this capture technique suits me very well. I want to continue practicing it and refine it before learning something else."๐‘›๐‘œ๐’ฑ๐”ข๐“ต๐“ƒ๐–Šxt.๐œ๐“ž๐“‚

Yang Feng nodded and agreed with Meng Fan's attitude. "That's fine, no problem. If you come tomorrow, I'll teach you some more complex ways of capturing an opponent. You are very fitted to practice this kind of technique. Your hand speed is incredible, and you're strong too, and you learn fast. Once you perfect it, not many people will be able to dodge your attacks."

"I meant I'd like to practice more today. Of course, you don't have to practice with me. If the judo hall has people who are practice partners, I'm willing to pay more."

"You still want to practice? You're not tired?" Seeing Meng Fan shake his head, Yang Feng was stunned. He thought about it and said: "The money doesn't really matter, but you're a novice. And you have to be careful of how much strength you exert. How about this. I'll find you a coach that specializes in combating capture and snatch techniques."

Meng Fan nodded, agreeing to be careful. He then added: "I'll pay double the price of a private lesson."

He knew that with his weight, it would be a hefty task for whoever took the task and ended up thumping the floor below him. If he only paid based on the set price, not many people would be willing to spar with him.

"Alright. Come with me, I'll find you someone sturdy."

Yang Feng took Meng Fan out of the practice room โ€” he had another class afterwards โ€” and found another training room. There were several people indoors already and had been separated into their own areas.

"Lao Hei."

Yang Feng looked around and quickly locked onto his target. He called out toward a very tanned and muscular man.

Torso exposed, his muscles bulged. If he hadn't been smiling, he would have been a terrifying figure to come across.

"Professional capture technique practice. He's strong, fast, and needs intensive training. He'll pay double the private lesson cost. Problem?"

"Double?"

Lao Hei's eyes lit up. If he didn't see that Meng Fan was the person he'd be training, he was almost about to ask out loud which dumbass had this much money to burn. He then nodded fiercely. "Of course, it's not a problem." He then smiled at Meng Fan, pounding his chest. "I promise I'll take your beating!"

Not everyone knew who Meng Fan was. For example, Lao Hei. He didn't know of his 'Iron Hero' nickname. Lao Hei really didn't care for Meng Fan's height and weight at first.

There'd been several students who attended his class that were taller and chubbier than Meng Fan. Plus, Lao Hei's eyes were sharp. Although he hadn't begun to analyze him yet, he could tell Meng Fan lacked muscle, despite looking tall and bulky. At most, he exercised but didn't push it.

Plus, Lao Hei was the most tolerant member of the Feng Ji Judo club. Even if Yang Feng wanted to suppress him, it would be difficult. What could a student learning capturing do?

How could there be a person who specialized in snatching and capturing anyways. The real strong folk all specialize in groundwork skills like submission!

Chapter 266: From Little Meng to Master Meng

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

"He looks so familiar!"

"You don't recognize him? He's that Iron Hero guy you told me about."

"It is him! Why is he working out here?"

"Of course he works out, he's not born that strong."๐‘›๐‘œ๐’ฑ๐”ข๐“ต๐“ƒ๐–Šxt.๐œ๐“ž๐“‚

"Have you seen him before?"

"No. He probably just started here."

"Maybe he's had a private coach. Coach Yang always comes with him."

"It's nice to have money!"

"Feng Ji is pretty good, even people at the Iron Hero level choose to train here."

Just because Lao Hei didn't know Meng Fan, it didn't mean other people at this training place didn't recognize him. In fact, there were quite a few people who did. News of that fight with the K-pop star traveled everywhere, the stunning scene really impressed everyone in this field.

Yang Feng turned away happily as he heard the students' gossip. Meng Fan was a celebrity student now.

The celebrity effect was quite powerful. Even a celebrity like Meng Fan, who wasn't in show business, could attract more students in Yang Feng's opinion. At the very least, people would think Feng Ji was a good place to train.

"Let's come this way."

Lao Hei didn't hear all this talk as he led celebrity student Meng Fan to an empty part of the space. He smiled as he asked, "Did you do Brazilian jiu-jitsu with Coach Yang? How long have you done it?"

"I didn't really study Brazilian jiu-jitsu, it was very casual. I started today." Meng Fan answered honestly.

"You started today? Then you can practice with any student, no need to spend this much money."

Lao Hei was a straight shooter, so he blurted out the comment. Then, seemingly regretting the coaching fee at twice the usual rate, he added, "Well, if Coach Yang recommended you to train with me, you must be pretty good. You haven't studied long, but you must be a fast learner. Yes, that must be it."

He was secretly pleased. This crazy Coach Yang wasn't that bad; he actually looked out for him. The next time they practiced, he'd make it easy on him, and let him win. He had to give Yang courtesy. After all, Yang was the chief coach.

"Coach Yang said I improved very fast." Meng Fan followed Lao Hei to the practice area and explained his goal. "For now, I've only done throws and snatches. I'm more interested in snatches, so I just want to practice that for now. It might be kind of boring, I hope you understand."

"You're so polite. Practicing skills is always boring. Hey, you can call me Lao Hei, everyone calls me that. What's your name?" Lao Hei asked Meng Fan's name and smiled. "I'll call you Little Meng. Let's get started. Don't hold back. Do everything you did with Coach Yang, you can use double the strength. I'm very tough."

Lao Hei stood there, a smile on his face, waiting for Meng Fan to fight him.

"Here I come."

Meng Fan did a snatch pose. When he saw Lao Hei standing so relaxed, he also took down his strength a little. He heard from Yang Feng that even practice partners needed to tighten their muscles or they'd get easily injured. Lao Hei seemed so confident that he couldn't really say anything, he had no choice but to try for a snatching.

"Your speed is not bad."

When Lao Hei was caught by Meng Fan in one move, he was surprised. "I'll do a counter-snatch now. Pay attention to my moves. If you learn the counter-snatch skills, it'd be very helpful to you."

As he spoke, Lao Hei turned his wrist and grabbed Meng Fan's wrist, reacting and moving very quickly. Seeing this, Meng Fan realized Yang Fan really found him a great coach with good counter-snatching skills.

Meng Fan was observant and fast. While Lao Hei was flexible, he still had trouble catching Meng Fan. In fact, Meng Fan didn't even let Lao Hei finish his counter-snatching skill set before he flipped his hand, snatched Lao Hei, came forward, and flipped Lao Hei to the floor.

"Huh?"

Lao Hei was taken by surprise, but he didn't panic. Plenty of people have flipped him, but how many have really dominated him? Other people would yelp with pain when snatched, but he didn't.

Lao Hei turned his joint and got up. As he got away, he stood up and said, "Let's go again. I told you I'm tough. You have to use your strength. Miracles come from great strength, right?"

Meng Fan nodded. The previous episode confirmed Lao Hei's level of skills.

He needed to dominate him to grow his experience. Lao Hei was obviously a fighter who was hard to dominate. Coach Yang wanted to give him a tough partner, which also meant this level was hard to pass.

Might as well. Consider it a hard fight to grow experience.

"Little Meng, snatching is all about fast, accurate, and hard. You're fast and accurate, just not hard enough."

"Right, use your strength!"

"More!"

"Lao Hei likes being tough!"

Meng Fan was gradually increasing his strength to be safe. Lao Hei was tougher than he had imagined. Everytime he thought the older man would be dominated, he never quite managed it.

"Argh!"

Thump thump thump!

After some time, Lao Hei finally slapped the floor.

"Lao Meng, keep your strength the same!"

"Brother Meng, easy, easy!"

"Master Meng, take a break!"

In the following ten minutes, the honest Lao Hei kept calling Meng Fan by different titles. In just fifteen minutes, the tough Lao Hei started to beg for mercy.

Lao Hei and Yang Feng felt the same about Meng Fan. The man wasn't here to practice, he was there to make them slap the floor and lose.

If practice was about training one's skills, then it's about using the right skill so there's no need to use your strength after the skills worked. If you were already winning and still used your strength, then it's about making your opponent beg for mercy.

Lao Hei was a tough practice partner. While he needed a break after ten minutes or so, within the practice time, he was always able to keep up with Meng Fan's high level output. After a break, Lao Hei always recovered.

For building experience, it was hard to build the first point, then it got easier. Lao Hei was also resilient, he didn't talk too much like Coach Yang either.

After an hour, Lao Hei helped Meng Fan grow more than 130 points. His total experience was now at 221.

"I'm out."

After Lao Hei slapped the floor, he lay down and refused to get up. He looked up at the big clock on the wall and said, "Master Meng, it's been an hour. Let's call it a day. Are you even human? If I knew it'd be like this, I'd not do this job at three or four-times the pay! I'm not afraid of seven, eight guys attacking me, but I'm afraid you'll f*ck me up!"

Maybe the two men got close after training for an hour, so Meng Fan was used to talking like this, he actually joked, "No, no, I'm used to you now. Plus, you said you were the toughest at this dojo. If it's someone else, I wouldn't be having fun. Fine, let's call it a day. I'll be back tomorrow morning and pay you five times the rate, how about it?"

Lao Hei shook his hands and sat up. He smiled, "I was kidding. Double rate is fine. Actually, I liked doing this too. I'll think of it as joint-lock training. No one else could do it as well as you."

Meng Fan was glad to hear this. This Lao Hei was a straight-forward guy. "Let's talk no more of money. Do you have any more classes? Let's eat, my treat."

"Sure!"

Lao Hei was happy to stand up. Meng Fan was his kind of guy. It was a good time to eat anyway.

Just then, a door opened on the other side of the practice room and out came a dozen or so female students in taekwondo uniforms, at least half of which were very pretty. They had beautiful faces and great figures, attracting a lot of attention with their appearance.

Lao Hei swallowed hard as he looked over, so did Meng Fan; everyone else did the same.

After the dozen or so female students came out, a man appeared. He was tall, fit, very good-looking, and wore a cool smile.

"Coach Jin, we're leaving now. See you next time."

These female students all looked like they had a crush on their coach and were reluctant to leave

"Jealous? There's no point."

Lao Hei stood up, trying to hug Meng Fan's shoulders, only to realize the young man was too tall. He couldn't hug Meng Fan at all, maybe just grip his arm, so he elbowed him and said with raised eyebrows. "This Korean guy is our taekwondo teacher. He's good looking and knows how to flirt. Most of the female students are here because of him. He's our star teacher. I don't know why women like Koreans so much. Is it because of their nickname, "club?" A club is nothing, I'm a stick!"

Meng Fan laughed. "Maybe they just like good-looking guys; nothing to do with clubs or sticks."

Lao Hei looked irritated. "So what if he's good looking, he's such a dumb c* and really arrogant."

Meng Fan laughed. "Aren't martial artists supposed to be blunt? If you think he's arrogant, fight him. Lao Hei, you aren't afraid of losing, are you? If you can't beat him, then you can't complain."

"You think I can't fight him? He can't beat me even if I just stand there and don't fight back." Lao Hei looked even more annoyed, then he grew sheepish. "You don't get it. This Korean guy is a big money-maker for the school, even Coach Yang has to kiss up to him. I have to play along. Let's go, I don't want to see his face anymore."

Meng Fan followed Lao Hei on their way toward the big practice room.

"Eh, isn't that guy Meng Fan?"

A few of the dozen students recognized Meng Fan. He was so noticeable it was hard to stay hidden.

"It is him! What's he doing here?"

"I hate him!"

"Why doesn't he just explode?"

Meng Fan was confused by the ridicule and cursing. Lao Hei was confused, too. How did these female students know about Meng Fan? They looked like they could murder him. Did the young man do something horrible to them?

"Meng Fan?"

Jin Taiyun looked energized when he heard the name. He glanced at the focus of the female students' attention and perked up. After marching toward Meng Fan, he stopped about three steps away with a bright smile on his face. "Meng Fan, how are you?"

Meng Fan was cussed out by the female students. When Jin Taiyun walked over, with Lao Hei's explanation, he knew this man was Korean, so he thought of another Korean guy, realizing why the women were cussing him. His brows furrowed, "Do we know each other?"

"You don't know me. I know you."

Jin Taiyun looked to be in a good mood. He introduced himself, "I'm Jin Taiyun, from South Korea. I teach taekwondo at Feng Ji. Are you also a student here?"

Meng Fan answered, "Kind of. What do you want?"

"Great."

Jin Taiyun seemed even happier. "I heard of you after the video of your fight with Park Jae Hye. After the fight, everyone said South Koreans are too weak, and three of them can't fight one of you. Some of them even called you the Iron Hero. I saw the video, you ambushed them. Now that I've run into you, I want to challenge you to a fight. It's not for Park Jae Hye, it's for the honor of the South Korean men."

Meng Fan was speechless. "So you just want to beat me up?"

Jin Taiyun smiled, "You can think of it that way. You can refuse the fight too, but refusing is admitting defeat. I don't need you to apologize to anyone. I need you to admit that you won by ambushing."

Meng Fan wrinkled his eyebrows again. "Win? You think winning is more important than right or wrong for the video incident?"

"Right or wrong?" Jin Taiyun shook his head. "This happened in your country, Huaxia. Who knows what really happened. Even the video could be fake."

"Right!"

"Park Jae Hye wouldn't hit anyone!"

"The video is fake!"

"Coach Jin, teach him a lesson!"

"Go Coach Jin!"

After Jin Taiyun spoke, most of the female students started shouting. They looked ready to attack Meng Fan at any time.๐‘›๐‘œ๐’ฑ๐”ข๐“ต๐“ƒ๐–Šxt.๐œ๐“ž๐“‚

"You South Koreans are known for admitting nothing and taking credit for everything."

Meng Fan was angry now. It wasn't because of Jin Taiyun saying something real was fake, but these female students who all looked like they had air in their heads.

Pointing to Jin Taiyun, Meng Fan asked Lao Hei, "Is it illegal if I kill him?"

"Master Meng, it's definitely illegal if you kill someone."

Lao Hei's face grew grim. He wasn't sure of the origin of the drama, but he could feel Meng Fan's rage and worried about the possibility of Meng Fan making a lethal move. But then he realized Meng Fan's real question, "But, as long as you don't disable him, it should be fine."

"Kill me?"

Jin Taiyun laughed as if he just heard the biggest joke. "C'mon, let's get started. I'll make you kneel and admit you did an ambush."

As he talked, he walked toward a practice area and began warming up. He wasn't afraid of Meng Fan getting away since people were already recording. He would bring honor back to Park Jae Hye. This Iron Hero is just trash!

"Go Coach Jin!"

"Coach Jin, make him cry!"

The female students didn't leave and rushed to cheer on Jin Taiyun.

Lao Hei's glance at Jin Taiyun was as if the man was a moron. Was the Korean man that full of himself?

Seeing Meng Fan's grim look as he walked toward the fighting area, he sighed. Master Meng, take it easy. Don't kill Coach Yang's money maker.

Then he turned happy. He's wanted to beat up the Korean guy for a while but never had the chance. Now, it'd be so great to see him getting owned.

"What happened?"

As Lao Hei considered, the owner of the money maker, Coach Yang of the dojo, appeared. He probably heard of what's going on. He rushed toward Jin Taiyun and blocked him, "Jin Taiyun, what are you doing?"

Jin Taiyun looked serious. "Yang Feng, he's accepted my challenge. Please don't stop me."

If I don't stop you, you'll be disabled!

Yang Feng and Meng Fan had fought before, so he knew what Meng Fan could do. Meng Fan had a power move. If Jin Taiyun was snatched by Meng Fan, he'd be finished.

Yang Feng knew Jin Taiyun's level of strength all too well. He was good at looking hot and posing, but if he tried to kick Meng Fan, the Iron Hero, his foot would be gone.

Jin Taiyun was strong in taekwondo, but the sport wasn't really powerful in fighting.

Even if Meng Fan didn't know takedown and snatching, it'd be hard for a taekwondo black belt to beat him. You could kick Meng Fan a few times, but once he got close, his strength would end you!

Yang Feng smiled without humor. "Jin Taiyun, you can't beat him. What if I help apologize for you, and this could end here."

"I apologize? I can't beat him?"

Jin Taiyun's face turned stern. "Yang Feng, is he better than you? Is anyone at this dojo, other than you, a match for my leg kicks?"

Yang Feng wanted to crawl into a hole. Bro, people just played along with you. Most of the coaches here could beat you to a pulp.

But how could he tell the Korean guy this now?

"Yang Feng, don't worry about it. I won't be too hard on him. I know there can't be private fights at dojos in Huaxia. We're just playing."

Seeing Yang Feng's shadowed expression, Jin Taiyun smiled coldly. He knew Yang Feng was protecting the people of Huaxia, he didn't want them to lose face.

Iron Hero, hah, I'll break you!

He walked onto the fight area.

Yang Feng wished he could send this moron to the guillotine. Did he think taekwondo has any actual fighting advantage?

Whatever, he can die if he wanted to!

Yang Feng turned away, not wanting to see the fight, but then he walked toward Meng Fan and raised his hand. "Mr. Meng, do me a favor. Go easy on him, think of it as practice."

Chapter 268: A Trip to Hell

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Yang Feng didn't leave; he stayed to watch the fight. Jin Taiyun may be a moron, but he does make a lot of money for the dojo. It'd be fine if he was taken down a little, but Yang Feng was afraid he'd be killed by Meng Fan.

It wasn't that Yang Feng didn't respect taekwondo. It's just that he knew Meng Fan's Iron Hero reputation was well-deserved.

By then, many people had gathered around the fight area. In addition to the students and coaches in the main practice room, people in other practice rooms had come to watch, too.

With a bigger audience, those female students' cheers for Jin Taiyun were soon overshadowed by other voices.

"Iron Hero, take down this Korean!"

"Go Meng Fatty!"

"I've hated this Korean for a long time!"

"The fight is about that moron Park Jae Hye. Go Iron Hero, get him!"

There were a lot of students, quite a few of which knew the origin of the conflict, so the late-comers also found out the fight was because of Meng Fan's beating of the K-pop celebrity. Everyone became galvanized. They could care less if Jin Taiyun was profitable for the school; they just wanted to see the man beaten up.

While the male students were happy to see the pretty female students in their workout area, if the girls were cheering for Jin Taiyun, they didn't care for the airheads.

"Hrmf!"

Jin Taiyun's Chinese was pretty good, so he heard and understood the comments. He

grunted and got onto the floor. He'll make everyone shut up with his performance.

"Can we start?"

When Jin Taiyun faced Meng Fan, he didn't even bother with the usual manners of the sport. Never mind bowing, before Meng Fan nodded, he already put on a helmet, chest shield, and leg shields and did a fighting pose. He pushed down with his right foot then kicked up his right leg, using his left foot to do a 180-degree spin, then pointed up his right foot for a side kick toward Meng Fan's ribs.

Thump.

Jin Taiyun was a level three black belt, so his kick carried a lot of power and speed. The speed was much faster than Meng Fan's, who couldn't get away, but he couldn't get to Meng Fan's ribs either. While Meng Fan couldn't dodge the kick, he could use his hand to block the kick.

The "thump" sound came from Meng Fan blocking Jin Taiyun's sidekick with his elbow.

The blocking move did hurt for someone like Meng Fan, who has never been beaten.

When Jin Taiyun saw he didn't land on Meng Fan's ribs, he switched to a double-kick while yelling, which seemed rather threatening. His legs continued to pummel Meng Fan's thigh with a lot of power.๐‘›๐‘œ๐’ฑ๐”ข๐“ต๐“ƒ๐–Šxt.๐œ๐“ž๐“‚

Jin Taiyun could tell that with Meng Fan's build, his reaction and speed wouldn't be very fast. If his hands moved fast, it didn't mean his foot motions were fast, too. Jin Taiyun wanted to kick Meng Fan to the floor, which matched his earlier bragging that he'd make Meng Fan admit that he did an ambush.

Pow pow pow!

Jin Taiyun's continuous leg kicks made Meng Fan back up. Meng Fan's hands were fast, but they couldn't protect his legs.

Ouch!

Although, after a few kicks, Meng Fan felt less hurt. It was as if he got used to the pain.

"Trash!"

After a set of double kicks, Jin Taiyun looked at Meng Fan with disgust. So he wasn't that amazing.

Jin Taiyun used his left foot to spin, turned his left knee, and raised his right foot up to a 90-degree angle to kick Meng Fan repeatedly.

Jin Taiyun used all of his strength in the kicks. The power in the kicking came from his continued turns, so he believed Meng Fan couldn't dodge them.

It was, in fact, true, as the kicks landed on the hand Meng Fan used to block the kicks.

The sound was loud and carried much power.

"Finally!"

Meng Fan was waiting for these high-kicks. Jin Taiyun did kick Meng Fan, but he wouldn't be able to get his foot back.

After the first kick, Meng Fan hurt because he missed a snatching opportunity. This time, his quick hand instantly grabbed Jin Taiyun's retreating leg as he stepped up and grabbed Jin Taiyun's shoulder, throwing the Korean on the floor.

The fist Jin Taiyun threw during this tussle did hit Meng Fan, but it was weaker than a leg kick and didn't affect Meng Fan's fighting at all.

After Meng Fan flipped Jin Taiyun to the floor face up, he moved to gripping the Korean's elbow instead of the shoulder, then did a squat as he put a knee onto Jin Taiyun's back. He pulled on his hand, successfully pinning Jin Taiyun's elbow to his back, subduing him.

"Ow!"

Jin Taiyun yelled with pain.

Meng Fan didn't wait for him to struggle, he pulled on Jin Taiyun's elbow a little, causing the man to tap the floor.

When Meng Fan heard the tapping sound, he eased up on the Korean out of habit.

Yet, just when everyone thought the fight was over, the newly-freed Jin Taiyun did a back-kick at Meng Fan's chin!

"Meng Fatty, watch out!"

"F*ck! He's ambushing now? He already tapped out!"

"Koreans are the worst-mannered athletes in the world!"

"Trash who can't lose!"

Everyone watching yelped in surprise.

Just when Jin Taiyun's kick almost reached Meng Fan's chin, Meng Fan's hand grabbed Jin Taiyun's leg, twisted, and threw Jin Taiyun onto the floor.

Peng!

Jin Taiyun landed and yelled.

This time, Meng Fan didn't stop. He walked over, grabbing the Korean and flipped him.

Peng!

He tossed the Korean again.

As soon as Jin Taiyun landed, Meng Fan would grab the man and throw him again.

The scene was right out of the game, "The King of Fighters '97," when Goro Daimon, the judo expert known for his throws, would flip everyone.

Peng, peng, peng, peng!

After being ambushed once by Jin Taiyun, Meng Fan didn't give the Korean man a chance to regroup. He didn't use snatching, either; he didn't want to give the man a chance to tap the floor. Maybe he could break his wrist? Okay, Meng Fan admitted he was tempted, but he resisted, so he just kept using throws.

He didn't allow him to tap out anymore. He needed to throw the man to relieve his anger.

"Wow, what a beast!"

"Amazing!"

"This is a beating!"

"Is he gonna be okay after all the throwing?"

"He should kill this trash! How dare he ambush after tapping out, what garbage!"

"Iron God, do a Total Throw!"

"Do the big one, do the Heaven to Hell Throw!"

"Meng Fan is really pissed off now!"

Everyone watching was yelling and shouting. They were disgusted by Jin Taiyun's earlier ambush.

There were a few worried watchers.

Lao Hei was an honest man. He was worried Meng Fan was going to kill Jin Taiyun. The scene in front of him was rather brutal.

Yang Feng's heart was beating faster and faster as he watched the fight. He went up to Meng Fan to stop him. "Mr. Meng, it's ok. If you throw him anymore, it's gonna kill him."

Chapter 269: Wrestling Competition

"He tapped the floor, but he wanted to keep fighting. I don't know how I should end this."

Meng Fan said as he grabbed Jin Taiyun again. The way he snatched the Korean fighter wasn't a standard wrestling move anymore, rather, it was as if he was picking up a puppet. Meng Fan looked angry and resigned as he kept throwing the man to the floor.

"If I stopped now, and he said he won, what could I do? I don't doubt that he'd say something like that."

Meng Fan moved aside Yang Feng's hand and picked up Jin Taiyun again. He asked Yang Feng, "Tell me, what should I do?"

Yang Feng had no answer.

Peng!

Meng Fan grabbed and threw the man again. He used more power. The throw was louder, and the scene was more explosive, too.

Jin Taiyun, who was totally under Meng Fan's control, could do nothing but gasp after being thrown. He couldn't even move his fingers, his bones felt like they had all broken.

Beg for mercy?

Tap the floor?

Jin Taiyun could do neither at this point. The man's only hope was Yang Feng. Tears and spit flew down on the man's face.

He knew if Yang Feng didn't save him, he'd die!

He didn't doubt that Meng Fan could kill him!

"Moron! He deserves it!"

Yang Feng cussed. When he saw Meng Fan about to throw Jin Taiyun again, he got an idea. He squatted down by the Korean man, blocking Meng Fan's move while slapping the ground, counting every slap.

"10!"

"9!"

"8!"

"โ€ฆ"

Yang Fan was impressed by his quick reaction. He started to count down faster so that he could declare Meng Fan's victory. This way, Meng Fan's problem would be resolved.

It's just that before he even finished the countdown, Jin Taiyun had fainted.

Maybe the Korean man felt relieved when he was saved by Yang Feng. He took a breath and blacked out.

"Butโ€ฆ"

Yang Feng rushed over to check on Jin Taiyun's pupils, making sure that he wasn't dead and just passed out. He called over the doctor at the dojo.

"Ding!"

Meanwhile, a notification came on in Meng Fan's mind.

"Ding! You have triggered the task [Wrestling Competition Master]."

"This task requires using correct wrestling techniques to subdue the opponent 1,000 times."

"Upon completion, you will receive the title [Wrestling Competition Master] (Wrestling Technique 10, Power 3)"

There was only one Task Phase, which awards an extra 100 when completed.

As soon as this task appeared, Meng Fan's anger started to dissipate. He finally triggered the mission. He was confused about the title though; it was even more confusing than [Thousand Hand Snatch]. Did the System watch movies?

The other task details were similar to the [Thousand Hand Snatch, which Meng Fan understood easily. He was a little puzzled that the task wasn't easy to complete, and the opponent had to be thrown until they fainted for the subduing to work.

Hm, the task seemed to imply wrestling techniques and not just throwing.

Meng Fan thought that wrestling techniques weren't just throwing, there were other techniques better for subduing.

Meng Fan laughed bitterly. Maybe he didn't trigger the task correctly. If he learned some wrestling techniques better for subduing, he could have triggered the task early on and not needed to do something so violent.

Well, it was good that Jin Taiyun came over to challenge him, or he'd have never thrown anyone like this otherwise.๐‘›๐‘œ๐’ฑ๐”ข๐“ต๐“ƒ๐–Šxt.๐œ๐“ž๐“‚

What happened nextโ€ฆ

"Master Meng, let's go."

When Lao Hei saw Meng Fan standing there, he was afraid there's more throwing. He went over and carefully tugged on Meng Fan, and breathed a sigh of relief when he wasn't thrown. He grabbed Meng Fan and left the dojo.

Lao Hei was a straight-forward guy, but he was also detail-oriented. He said to Meng Fan as they walked out, "That guy is probably faking fainting so he doesn't get killed."

He sounds like Constable Lu from "Heroes of the Marsh."

Meng Fan let himself be led out by Lao Hei. He wasn't so brutal as to want to stay.

"He's faking fainting! See, he's awake now!'

"Trash!"

"He should have been thrown to death!"

"Meng Fatty is amazing!"

"How dare he show off in front of Iron Hero!"

"What a show!"

"Iron God, you're my hero now!"

"โ€ฆ"

When the audience saw that Jin Taiyun had opened his eyes for the doctor, they started commenting, making Jin Taiyun shut his eyes. This time, he's really faking.

Among the female students who supported Jin Taiyun at first, half were on Meng Fan's side for the fight with the K-pop celebrity, but they were still crushing on Jin Taiyun. They first became uncomfortable when Jin Taiyun twisted the truth, and when the Korean man ambushed Meng Fan after tapping out, they were disgusted. By the time Jin Taiyun was thrown repeatedly by Meng Fan, they were really looking down on him.

Though he was good-looking, he was just a silver-colored wax pipette tip: totally useless.

When it comes to looks, Meng Fan was actually more handsome than Jin Taiyun. He had a body that looked strong and dependable.

Even more important, Meng Fan respected women.

The female students who cursed Meng Fan at first, the airheads, looked very embarrassed now. They had no words.

"Everyone, please leave."

Yang Feng waved his hand. He asked two people and the doctor to move Jin Taiyun over to the resting area.

"It's okay now. There's no one here."

After making sure everyone left, he woke up the fake-fainting Jin Taiyun.

"Yang Feng, you have to avenge me!"

After Jin Taiyun opened his eyes, he wanted to sit up but yelped from pain.

Yang Feng's face turned grim. "I told you, you can't beat him, you didn't listen! Avenge youโ€ฆ avenge you for what!? Are you forgetting why you started the fight?"

Anger filled Jin Taiyun's eyes. "Yang Feng, if you don't avenge me, I'llโ€”"

"You'll what? Leave Feng Ji Dojo?"

At that moment, a man came inside the room. He had hair down to his shoulders and a face of full stubble but that didn't hide his good looks. He was more handsome than Jin Taiyun and had an air of danger about him. His gaze was cold like a viper as he looked at Jin Taiyun, "If you don't want to die, stay here."

Jin Taiyun backed up when he saw the man. He wasn't afraid of anyone at Feng Ji Dojo; he was only afraid of this man, the dojo owner. It wasn't only because the man knew his secrets but that he knew the man โ€” who had shown his hand or taught at the dojo โ€” was truly powerful.

"Yang Feng, where is that Meng Fan?"

"Brother Ji, you're not starting anything with him, are you?"

"I do want to start something with him. It's not because of the Korean fight though. I've wanted to beat him up for a while now!"

When he thought of his sister, the adorable, kind, naive girlโ€ฆ the smartest and prettiest girl in the world, he became even angrier.

Chapter 270: Trending Again

Meng Fan and Lao Hei went to an upscale steakhouse as soon as they finished showering. Both men had big appetites, so they spent a lot of money on a lavish meal.

"Let's toast with milk. I, Lao Hei, want to offer Master Meng a drink!"

Lao Hei had nothing but admiration for Meng Fan. He hadn't known the young man long, but liked spending time with him. During the meal, Meng Fan asked a lot of questions, all of which he answered thoroughly.

Lao Hei knows a lot of disciplines. He started with Huaxia martial arts, then learned Chinese kickboxing, snatching, then got to know contact sports like sambo and judo. As mixed martial arts or MMA became popular domestically, he was preparing to switch to MMA.

Of course, he's just practicing now. If he was doing competitions, he'd have never dared to eat out so freely.

Lao Hei knowing a lot of martial arts disciplines was great for Meng Fan. This way, Meng Fan could ask him any and all questions and not waste time searching online.

Meng Fan managed to understand "wrestling techniques" with Lao Hei's help.

Wrestling was considered the world's first competitive sport. The sport had two origins: In the West, it began in ancient Greece, becoming today's classical wrestling in the Olympics. The other version โ€” freestyle wrestling โ€” also originated from Europe. In the East, the sport was known as Huaxia wrestling, and was also called chiyouxi, wrestling, sumo, or fighting and more.

Of course, there's Mongolian wrestling and others, which were more or less affected by these two origins.

In the Tang Dynasty, Huaxia wrestling was introduced to the country of Japan, evolving into Japanese wrestling, as well as developing into Nihon jiu-jitsu, which became judo and karate. Brazilian jiu-jitsu also originated from Japanese jiu-jitsu.๐‘›๐‘œ๐’ฑ๐”ข๐“ต๐“ƒ๐–Šxt.๐œ๐“ž๐“‚

During this evolution, the sport was obviously affected by other martial arts disciplines. Meanwhile, every martial arts discipline developed, evolved, and learned from other disciplines, gradually becoming today's modern martial arts.

The methods used may vary, but the principle was the same. It had to be said that wrestling, judo, and jiu-jitsu all have a lot in common. Wrestling techniques were used throughout the three sports; the difference was, wrestling emphasized takedowns, jiu-jitsu emphasized floor work, while judo featured both.

With the different names, the biggest difference was the different rules in the competitions.

The MMA competition Lao Hei wanted to do allowed every martial arts discipline. When Meng Fan learned the wrestling techniques, he also understood how he could complete the [Wrestling Competition] task.

After the wonderful meal, Lao Hei watched Meng Fan get into a taxi. After he considered a bit, Lao Hei went back to the dojo. He wanted to see how Jin Taiyun was doing. He really hoped this fight wouldn't affect Meng Fan's training at the dojo. The double pay for teaching throwing was one thing, and next was that he really liked working with Meng Fan.

"Lao Hei."

As soon as he came in, several coaches and students came over to ask him about Meng Fan. After all the questions, he understood how Meng Fan and Jin Taiyun got into a fight.

"Lao Hei, get over here."

Lao Hei was busy talking when a cold voice interrupted, making him sheepish. He followed the man who spoke into an office. "Brother Ji, you wanted to see me?"

"That Meng Fan left?" The man asked. When Lao Hei nodded, he asked, "Is he coming to train tomorrow?"

Lao Hei stiffened his neck and answered, "Of course, he is. Why shouldn't he? He paid the tuition. Brother Ji, you are not going to let that Koreanโ€ฆ"

"I'm not asking you to make comments, ok?" The man glanced at Lao Hei and asked again, "When is he coming tomorrow?"

Lao Hei's neck turned stiff again, "Brother Ji, you're not going to take revenge for that Korean, are you?" He weakened after another look by the man. The man was his MMA coach, so Lao Hei didn't dare to go up against him. Lao Hei answered honestly, "Tomorrow after nine."

"OK. Get out of here."

"Alright!"

โ€ฆ

"Still working?"

Meng Fan didn't go to the school nor his home, instead, he headed toward Da Mei Studios. It was near the Xizi Lake scenic district and just a few minutes walk from the restaurant. On his way there, he sent off a WeChat message to Wu Tong.

During lunch, Meng Fan already messaged her, telling her that he was back. Wu Tong replied that she was rushing to complete some work with her teacher.

Meng Fan wanted to know if she was still busy. If she was done, he'd go meet up with her.

"Not yet. I'll be pretty late. Do your thing. See you tomorrow. (sad emoji)"

"OK. (crying emoji)"

Soon, Meng Fan reached Da Mei Studios. It was almost six p.m. Though it was dark, there were many people working at the studio.

"Get away from me!"

Zhang Zhouwei, who was playing with his phone near the entrance, backed up as soon as he saw Meng Fan. "I'm afraid you'll throw me."

Meng Fan was surprised. He glanced over at the other workshop employees and said with resignation, "You all know? I guess good news never leaves the house and bad news travels miles."

"It's on Weibo's Hottest Topics. Of course, we know!"

"It's not a bad thing. At least everyone knows you're the real Iron Hero now."

"Boss, you're incredible!"

"What happened to that Korean?"

"Is he faking fainting? He looks like he really passed out."

"Iron Hero, why are you always fighting Koreans?"

"It's not Iron Hero vs. Koreans, it's Koreans picking fights with Iron Hero."

Everyone at the studio joined in, all of them looked at Meng Fan excitedly. Maybe it was because the online video was so impressive, or Meng Fan's 11 Charm, or maybe both, everyone thought Meng Fan was simply incredible.

Since most of the studio's employees were females, their heated gazes made Meng Fan a little uncomfortable.

Well, if they were all men, he would be even more uncomfortable.

After getting answers to things he needed, Meng Fan uttered an excuse and left in a hurry.

As soon as he got to the door, he ran into a man holding two packs of milk tea and coffee. He was in his mid-twenties, had buzz cut hair, and was good-looking and upbeat.

He almost collided with Meng Fan. When he looked up at Meng Fan, he was taken aback and then seemed overjoyed. "Meng Boss, how are you? I'm so happy to meet you."

Meng Fan smiled and nodded. "I haven't seen you before. Are you new here?"

The buzz cut guy replied. "I'm Xiang Ping. Oh, my pen name is FlatHeadBro. We've chatted before."

"FlatHeadBro?"

Meng Fan immediately thought of the author of "Rampage and Repair the World," which was the first book he illustrated for. He asked curiously, "What are you doing here?"

FlatHeadBro blushed.

Meanwhile, Zhang Zhouwei came over and glanced at Yan Xixi, the studio's manager and the chief artist.

When Meng Fan saw Yan Xixi also blushing, he understood.

This was one master kneeling to another master, ah!

Chapter 271: Bro, Where Are You?

Meng Fan had already dropped all the manga related work at the studio and formed a group chat. Aside from the staff that already had work, they had pulled in extra reporters as well. They didn't expect this to occur afterward.

"What's going on?"

Meng Fan received the coffee FlatHeadBro handed to him. Seeing him blush as he went around distributing coffee and milk tea to the other members, he curiously asked Zhang Zhouwei next to him, who was also holding a cup of coffee.

"I heard from Yanan, this FlatHeadBro's novel illustrations are now being painted by senior Xixi, and she became familiar with it in just two days. Normally, aside from work, they would chatโ€ฆ But then, about three days ago, FlatHeadBro mentioned something that needed to be discussed in person, so he arranged for us to meet in the studio."

Zhang Zhouwei opened the lid and took a sip. It was still hot. He continued: "I'm guessing senior Xixi's elegance and beauty has mesmerized FlatHeadBro. Either way, after that day, the guy's been coming around to the studio everyday, delivering food, or drinks, and even flowers one time. He comes at least twice a day. He says he lives nearby, or he was tired from typing and needed to take a walk, but like come on; who doesn't know what's really going on at this point?"

"Then how does senior Xixi feel about this?"

People were attracted to gossip, and Meng Fan was no different. He wasn't very interested in celebrity gossip, but if it happened near himโ€ฆ He was very interested.

Yan Xixi was already a semi famous artist among the professional realm. Qin Jiao had specifically recruited her to take over the administration of the studio. Xiang Ping, or FlatHeadBro, was also a very well known author on . His new book was off to a great start, and rumor has it that he's already signed a big contract.

The reason that these two could meet was related to Meng Fan. It's not even an exaggeration to say that Meng Fan was the matchmaker. If Meng Fan hadn't dropped the administrative work for his book, the two wouldn't have met.

Of course, Meng Fan would be interested in this kind of gossip.

Zhang Zhouwei, being forced to idle around the studio, did little work and didn't know much useful information, but was more knowledgeable than anyone regarding the gossip. He said: "I think it's like this; they're about eighty or ninety percent together. FlatHeadBro is pretty good looking, lives in Hangzhou, and has a good career. He also makes good money. I heard from Yanan that with his derpy personality, he was perfectly able to provoke the cute characteristics of senior Xixi. Either way, last night, FlatHeadBro came to pick her up right on the dot. If senior Xixi hadn't given him the green light, he wouldn't have arrived in such a timely manner."

As they were chatting, FlatHeadBro had finished distributing the coffee and approached a slightly blushing Yan Xixi. He spoke quietly. "Then I'll come pick you up later."

Seeing Yan Xixi nod slightly, his grin almost pierced the back of his head. He didn't pause for long either and happily left the studio.

FlatHeadBro approached Meng Fan as he scratched his head. "Meng Boss, uhm, do you have some time? I'd like to treat you to dinner."

Meng Fan smiled. "What a coincidence, I've got plans today." He raised his eyebrows. "Next time, I'll buy you candy."

FlatHeadBro became even more embarrassed, but responded firmly. "Uhm, I'll do my best!"

Meng Fan didn't think his light-hearted joke would be taken so seriously. His Observational Skills were very high, and could tell FlatHeadBro meant what he said.

Meng Fan was also preparing to leave and walked out with FlatHeadBro. He approached the moped he arrived on, thought for a moment, then spoke once again: "Uhm, I'm going to be driving to pick her up. It's colder at night, so I won't let her be cold. I only rode this here because it's easier to park when I buy groceries."

Meng Fan smiled. "Why does this sound like you're promising senior Xixi's parents you'll take care of her?"

FlatHeadBro blushed once again. This time, he didn't know what to say.

Meng Fan originally planned to head for the Chocolate Factory, but the experience at Da Mei had told him that it was best to avoid heading there right now. He was preparing to train anyways. If he had time to dub, he might as well spend that time finishing up the two achievements.

He hailed a cab and headed home.

At night, he worked on his manga until 4:00 a.m. During this time, he received several WeChat messages and videos.

At around midnight, Wu Tong sent a message alerting him that she had finished her work. They didn't talk for long before she headed off to bed leaving him with a 'good night, see you tomorrow.'

Another message was from Su Qingcen. It was related to the two of them reaching the trending search.

The video was sent by Bai Zhi, and was related to this as well.

At the time of the video, Bai Zhi was already at the production office. Meng Caiwei was inevitably present and had entered the frame to lecture Meng Fan.

Other people only cared about the refreshing news of Meng Fan beating someone up twice. Meng Caiwei was more concerned for his safety. She hadn't held back from scolding him. Of course, based on her character, she still commended him after the lecture for doing a decent job of fighting and not completely embarrassing his older sister.

He slept for two hours and woke up. Wu Tong appeared shortly after he arrived at the track. The two warmed up as usual, did their run, and chatted as they stretched.๐žฐ๐‘œ๐—๐–Š๐—…๐’ฉ๐“ฎxt.๐’ธ๐—ˆ๐—†

"You're getting faster."

As they conversed, Wu Tong suddenly paused. "It seems like now even if I run with all my strength, you can still catch up to me. Maybe in due time, I won't be able to catch up to you."

Wu Tong was being honest. Meng Fan was getting faster and faster. Before, he had trouble just keeping up with Wu Tong, but now it seemed effortless, as if he could surpass her.

He was progressing rapidly and continuously as well.

Meng Fan wasn't sure if there was another meaning to Wu Tong's words. He could only laugh it off. "It's good if I run fast. This way, you can't run away from me."

Wu Tong shoved Meng Fan, who toppled over onto the ground in a laughing frenzy. He liked the feeling of being pushed by Wu Tong.

Wu Tong was already aware of the gossip between Su Qingcen and Meng Fan.

Meng Fan said he had been recording a show with Bai Zhi, yet the scandal had involved him and Su Qingcen. Even if Wu Tong knew it was just a hoax, she was still uncomfortable.

Of course, she didn't say anything. After all, she wasn't in a position to be questioning him.

Meng Fan's brain didn't work all the time either. He felt that since it was a scandal, explaining it would make it even more complicated.

At least his attitude was good though.

"I think I have to go to my professors today. Do you have time for dinner tonight?"

"Mhmm."

"I'll bring the scarf I knitted for you, then."

"What about my wooly underwear?"

Wu Tong once again pushed Meng Fan to the ground after he'd just stood up.

After stretching, they returned to the dormitories. After showering, Wu Tong's three other roommates were still asleep. She ate breakfast and turned up at Hu Hang's art studio at 7:30 a.m. sharp.

She arrived early to make a summary of her work from the day before.

In the process of this project led by Hu Hang himself, several new techniques had been introduced. It was Wu Tong's first time interacting with all of these. Everytime a new technique appears, Wu Tong was ecstatic. She would always pick it up at lightning speed, then digest the process in her own time.

At eight o'clock, Hu Hang and the other students arrived at the studio in a timely manner. During their break around nine, a senior was conversing with Wu Tong. As they bantered, the senior mentioned Meng Fan and his fight to Wu Tong after hearing it from her roommates.

"Your boyfriend is pretty badass. It's not often an art student is more badass than an athletics student."

This was Wu Tong's first time hearing of the incident. After watching the video, she didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"What? When did this loser learn these skills? And what a coincidence he goes to Feng Ji!"

Wu Tong recognized Feng Ji Dojo from the video. She immediately took out her phone to call Meng Fan, but nobody responded!

Thinking about it, she hurriedly made another call.

Once the other end picked up, Wu Tong tentatively asked: "Big brother, where are you?"

"I'm in Hangzhou. What? Do you miss me?"

"Yeah. Where are you? The dojo?" Wu Tong smiled. "Oh, you are? Perfect. I want to eat the bread from the bakery near your dojo. Can you bring me some? I'm in the art studio and it's been busy. I haven't even had breakfast yet."

"That bakery opens at ten o'clock. I'll bring some for you once it opens."

"I'm hungry now. Can you bring me something else, then?"

"Okay okay, I'll be there soon. Thirty minutes at most."

"Why do you need thirty minutes to come here! It should take you twenty minutes at most!"

"You have to let me brush my teeth and wash my face first!"

"Fine. Hurry up, I'm starving."

After ending the call, Wu Tong told Hu Hang she had some urgent business, and grabbed her jacket before dashing out the door.

Chapter 272: Wait a Minute, Bro!

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

"This brat is just playing with me now!"

At this moment, Wu Ji was already standing outside a practice room, checking his time. "It takes me twenty minutes to get to the art academy, and if I add the time it takes to buy her food, I only have two minutes."

He opened the door and walked in. Seeing Lao Hei, who was thumping the floor, he then looked at Meng Fan, who had locked Lao Hei into submission. This made Wu Ji fume with anger.

How could his sweet innocent little sister become so devious because of this punk!

If he drove faster, he should have five minutes to teach this punk a lesson!

Wu Ji happily accepted the change of plans.

"Lao Hei, you can leave."

Wu Ji placed his phone on the floor and did some basic warmups.

"Ji Bro, what are you doing?!"

Seeing Wu Ji enter, Lao Hei immediately crawled up and rolled over. They had specifically found a private room, thinking that they were ok after practicing for half an hour. But he actually came!

He was familiar with Wu Ji and often heard him cursing the Jin Taiyun stick. He could confirm that Wu Ji despised Jin Taiyun very much and had only been joking yesterday. He didn't think he'd actually show up to avenge Jin Taiyun.

This was unlike Wu Ji!

Seeing Wu Ji continue to warm up, Lao Hei became more startled. "Ji Bro, if you want to get revenge for the stick, I willโ€ฆ I will end our friendship! This isn't right!"

Wu Ji twisted his neck. "Get the hell out of here."

Lao Hei stood firmly. "I'm not going."

"Do what you want. It's best you try to stop me, so I can beat your ass, too!"

Afterwards, he ignored Lao Hei. Wu Ji removed his shoes and entered the room, stretching his arms behind his back. After finishing up his exercises, he looked towards Meng Fan. "Punk, you're just learning capture and takedown techniques, right? I'll use these two techniques to beat your ass. I'll give you ten seconds to get ready."

After hearing the exchange between the two, he mostly understood what was going on. His expression darkened.

From Lao Hei's tone, he could tell that this Ji Bro guy was a powerful player. As for the name, it must be related to the Feng Ji Dojoโ€ฆ there was Yang Feng, and this Ji guy.

Seeing Lao Hei's demeanor, this Ji Bro must be stronger than Yang Feng.

As his face darkened, Meng Fan felt excitement swell up inside him. He was happy to spar with a professional!

Only, Meng Fan continued to feel that this handsome man with a ponytail looked rather familiar, but he was sure he'd never seen him before. This made him curious.

His eyebrows and eyes looked like someone!

Meng Fan crinkled his brows. "Have we met before?"

"Nope. If we had, I would have beat your ass already." Wu Ji tied up his hair. "You have five seconds left."

Meng Fan was even more confused. Based on his words, Wu Ji was already prepared to beat him up.

"Two seconds."

"One second."

Wu Ji didn't give Meng Fan time to think. He fiercely exhaled and burst forward towards Meng Fan like a cannonball.

"He's so fast!"

Meng Fan was freaking out. He wasn't going to dodge it in time, and forced himself to calm down. He focused his attention and waited for Wu Ji to approach.

Bang.

Wu Ji immediately turned his body after reaching Meng Fan and quickly appeared next to Meng Fan like a ghost. At the same time, he wrapped his arms around Meng Fan's waist and stepped forward to take him down.

Meng Fan had learned this takedown technique before. It was a basic move, but Wu Ji's usage of it was different.

A huge force struck him, as Meng Fan felt his body being toppled over right away. Although his strength wasn't able to bring Meng Fan to the ground, it made him lose his center of gravity.

At this moment, Wu Ji was already on the other side of Meng Fan. He reached for Meng Fan's arm and lunged forward. Following the direction of force, he channelled the strength into his arms. Thump. Meng Fan had been flipped on the ground, taken down.

Thump! Meng Fan had never been taken down by anyone before. The pain was excruciating!

Lao Hei did not dare watch. True, Meng Fan was a badass, but he wasn't Wu Ji's rival.

Yang Feng couldn't flip Meng Fan, but that didn't mean Wu Ji couldn't.

Wu Ji was still grasping onto Meng Fan's wrist. He resisted the urge to use a sweeping technique followed by a cross; he'd promised to only use the capture and takedown techniques to bring him down.

Without letting go, he tumbled. The other hand grasped onto Meng Fan's shoulder, and using the force from the tumble, flung Meng Fan down once again.

"Punk, is your tolerance that weak?"

Wu Ji gave Meng Fan a chance to catch his breath and stopped suppressing him. He smiled coldly. "Stand up!"

Whoosh!

Meng Fan exhaled a deep breath, stood up, and proceeded to be flipped two more times. His eyes were red. It was too painful!

The handsome long-haired man in front of him was powerful, fast, and his reaction time was terrifying!

He definitely was a scary opponent.

If this guy hadn't promised to not use any other techniques besides capturing and takedown, Meng Fan would have already swapped out his hat and worn it on his finger.

Meng Fan knew now. If an opponent of this caliber managed to use a joint-lock technique on him, then he would suffer for real.

Of course, Meng Fan could confirm that this guy wasn't as strong as himself. As long as he could successfully snatch, he might have a chance at winning.

This opponent wasn't someone that you come by often!

Otherwise, Meng Fan would have given up long ago.

"Come at me!"

Meng Fan wiped his mouth and downed the energy drink he had exchanged. He raised his competitive state to its peak and calmed himself down.๐žฐ๐‘œ๐—๐–Š๐—…๐’ฉ๐“ฎxt.๐’ธ๐—ˆ๐—†

As Wu Ji sprinted towards him, Meng Fan shrinked his body. As Wu Ji was about to change direction, Meng Fan did not try to dodge, but braced the impact with his whole body.

Bang.

The impact on Meng Fan was very powerful. Although he wasn't able to take him directly, he managed to disrupt Wu Ji's route. At the same time, he reached out and successfully snatched.

Thump.

Meng Fan's stance and position did not change as he flipped Wu Ji onto the ground based on his strength alone.

If he had adjusted his position, Meng Fan was worried this guy might have reacted fast enough to counter.

Based on experience, he wouldn't have been able to beat him.

"This is getting interesting!"

Wu Ji immediately stood up after being thrown to the ground and did not give Meng Fan an opportunity to suppress him. He stood up and dived in right away for a leg-lock takedown.

After successfully taking him down, he tumbled again and reached for Meng Fan's wrist. But he didn't reach him in time. Meng Fan, though, managed to snatch right on.

At this moment, Meng Fan was still on the floor. He didn't care what technique he used. Relying on his strength alone, he rolled over and body slammed Wu Ji.

Thump. It wasn't a light throw.

After landing on the ground, Wu Ji's tumble began to slow down.

As he slowed, Meng Fan was able to suppress him and perform the capture technique.

Wu Ji tried to counterattack, but Meng Fan was too strong. He couldn't match Meng Fan's hand speed either and wasn't able to struggle free.

Instinctively, he pulled backwards, breaking free in a sweeping motion.

Lao Hei screamed at this time. "Ji Bro, you used the sweeping technique!"

"Shut up!"

Wu Ji coldly glared at him and stood his ground. He gestured to Meng Fan. "Come and get me."

Allowing Meng Fan to snatch at him counted as his own punishment for breaking his own "rules."

After Meng Fan successfully snatched at him, Wu Ji also reached out and snatched. The two held onto each other and confronted each other face to face.

Meng Fan was stronger than Wu Ji, but Wu Ji's takedown skills were much better than Meng Fan's.

After several exchanges back and forth, they were in a stalemate. Neither one could flip the other.

They glared at each other, foreheads almost touching.

As they stared, the anger and desire for combat suddenly extinguished from Meng Fan's eyes, a terrible thought appearing in Meng Fan's eyes.

My dear god, why do I have a strong urge to kiss him!

Suddenly, Meng Fan released his grip and squirmed away.

"Wait!"

Meng Fan reached out to pause, clutching his head. "Bro, is your last name Wu?"

Chapter 273: Put My Brother Down!

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

A terrifying thought appeared in Meng Fan's mind. It was no longer a matter of self doubt. He instantly understood why he felt so weird yet familiar when he looked at this guy in the eyes. It's because his eyebrows and eyes were very similar to Wu Tong. If that was the case, then of course, Meng Fan would have the impulse to kiss him.

After analyzing what Lao Hei just called him, Ji Bro, Meng Fan deduced that this must be Wu Ji.

Wu Tong had mentioned before her family had a strange naming culture for the several kids. Her grandfather had seven brothers, and from the oldest to the youngest, the last character of their name would be based on the radicals gold, wood, water, fire, earth, sun, and moon. Her family was second in line, so they had the wood radical.

Plus, the characters in their families were based on the meaning of "first." Her grandfather's generation was "initial," her father's generation is "son," and her generation was "yuan."

Of course, her generation had "yuan" in their genealogy. But it had been omitted on her identity card.

Thinking about it too, this guy had also said he'd long wanted to beat him up. Meng Fan could confirm that this guy was an overprotective big brother. If his name wasn't Wu Yuanji, it was Wu Ji.

However, Meng Fan was still hesitant to ask.

What if it wasn'tโ€ฆ Bleh. Even if he wasn't, it could only prove that he liked and missed Wu Tong too much. Yes, that's right!

"Why do you care what my name is!"

Wu Ji paused for a moment and became more fired up. "Kid, don't call me bro!"

Meng Fan was still staring at Wu Ji. With 4 Observation Skills, plus this statement, he could confirm. "If you're not the biggest bro, then what order are you?"

"I'm the seventโ€ฆ Hey punk, why are you talking so much!"

Wu Ji was furious. He didn't waste any more time talking and dashed towards Meng Fan.

He'd heard from Wu Tong's roommates long ago that she'd been close to a chubby homebody named Meng Fan. Slowly, he heard of their CP name that had been spread around, which made him furious. Long ago, he was already ready to find this punk and beat him up.

Based on the past experiences, he only needed to scare them. At most, he'd trick them into visiting the dojo and give them a 'tour,' which would make most people cower in fear like a frog who realized it wanted to eat swan meat. Even if that Hu Hang professor's nephew showed up, his legs had gone soft. He was so obediently schooled and never misbehaved or clung on to Wu Tong again, keeping his distance.

If that noodle-legged shrimp wasn't Hu Hang's nephew, then Wu Ji would have sent him home crying so scared that he would avoid Wu Tong like a plague.

A couple days after the news of Meng Fan and Su Qingcen was released, Wu Ji officially lost it. He was about to head to the school anyways; he had to do more than just scare him. He would only be satisfied if he could beat the air out of Meng Fan.

And the mouse actually ran into the trap!

But he didn't catch him!

And he won't in the future, either!

He didn't think he'd run into this punk in the Feng Ji Dojo, and he did not think the punk would be so good at combat. This was a good thing, of course.

Only, Wu Ji didn't think the punk would recognize him so fast.

But so what, he still had to be taught a lesson!

This kind of man was not worthy of Wu Tong!

Thump!

After approaching, Wu Ji latched on and flipped him from the side. Afterwards, he frowned. He looked at Meng Fan, who was standing up again. He said coldly: "Why aren't you hiding? Are you looking down on me?"

"No."

Meng Fan continuously waved his hands. "Seventh Bro, didn't you want to beat me up, I'll let you beat me. Once you're done and less angry, then tell me the reason. I'll treat it as practice."

"Don't call me Seventh Bro!"

Wu Ji boomed. "Stupid punk, don't think I'll let you off that easily. Okay, you stand there. You're not going to counter, right? I'll continue kicking your ass!"

Wu Ji darted toward him like an arrow, grabbing onto Meng Fan's shoulders. He exerted his force before suddenly pulling back, then he pushed Meng Fan. Pointing at him, he screamed: "Get your sh*t together and fight back!"

Meng Fan shook his head. "I'm scared to!"

Wu Ji: "I command you to not be!"

Meng Fan continued shaking his head. "Nope, still scared."

Lao Hei was dumbfounded. What the f*ck is going on???

Yesterday, he didn't realize what had happened during Meng Fan and Jin Taiyun's fight until afterwards. Today, when Meng Fan and Wu Ji began to fight, he still didn't understand. It didn't sound like Wu Ji was fighting for Jin Taiyun, either.

Now, he was even more confused!

What happened? They had been sparring when some strange words were uttered. Then the Iron Hero just stopped completely and told Wu Ji to come at him. After Wu Ji hit him, they started arguing. When did Wu Ji become the kind of person to argue? And no matter how he lookedโ€ฆ It looked like a bickering husband fighting with his wife.

And Wu Ji looked like an angry wife with nowhere to ventilate his anger!!!

Lao Hei couldn't help but chuckle. This was a unique perspective to look at things. I'm a f*cking genius to be able to see from such an interesting standpoint.

He sat down.

He could comfortably watch the show.

With Wu Ji like this, Meng Fan wasn't going to get beaten too hard no matter what. Lao Hei had nothing to worry about.

How nice would it be to have a bowl of sunflower seeds right now?

"Stupid punk!"

Wu Ji was fuming, but he had nowhere to exert his anger. He pointed at Meng Fan and lowered his voice. "You want me to vent my anger? Then f*cking fight properly and with all your strength. If you get a thrill out of it, I'll have vented my anger. Otherwise, even if you do manage to date Wu Tong, don't even dream of passing me. I won't allow it!"

When Meng Fan heard this, the smile on his face immediately disappeared. He wrinkled his brows. "Seventh Bro, you can ask me to fight you properly to relieve your anger, but you're going a bit overboard right now. What happens to me and Wu Tong is between the two of us. Nobody needs to be a blockade, and we don't need anyone's approval. You can only do one thing, and that is wish us happiness!"

"You arrogant, little twat!"

Wu Ji smiled slyly. "Alright, you said it. Fight properly. You want my blessing? Alright, I'll give you 365 blessings in one collective go."

Afterwards, he darted forwards again, grabbing Meng Fan with both hands. Seeing Meng Fan was trying to resist, he immediately took to the floor in a tumble and flipped Meng Fan.

"One."

After giving out the 'blessing,' Wu Ji flipped over and approached Meng Fan again, hugging onto his legs. He then tumbled and flipped Meng Fan away with a leg-lock takedown.

"Seventh Bro, promise me now. If you lose, don't tattle on me to Wu Tong!"

Meng Fan was ready to let go. Since he had to fight, he might as well give it his all.

The Wu family had too many men, and if all of them were like Wu Ji, there would be no end.

Wu Ji was a dojo master and knew how to fight, but what if there came along a doctor, or an author, or a scientistโ€ฆ What would he do then!

He had to maintain his stance. He couldn't back out now!

"Don't call me Seventh Bro!"

"I want to! Seventh Bro, Seventh Bro, Seventh Bro!"

"You're not walking out of here on two feet!"

"I'm going to marry your little sister on two feet!"

"Punk, you're dead to me!"

"Seventh Bro, I won't die!"

Thump thump thump thump!

Bang bang bang bang!

Ah!

Whoosh!

Lao Hei was finally coming to understand what was going on. Turns out Meng Fan had something to do with Wu Ji's overly beautiful, little sister.

He had to watch the show, it was too good for words.

The Iron Hero was fierce indeed. Look, look, look! Wu Ji's already been taken down several times already!

Wu Ji naturally had nothing to say. This had long gone beyond just takedowns and captures. The entire process, they were using just takedowns.

Wu Ji would flip Meng Fan once, and Meng Fan would return with a takedown. The two were exclusively using takedown techniques and were at a stalemate.

Are they made out of steel? How could someone stand up so many timesโ€ฆ

Lao Hei was thrilled from the match. How do you describe such a scene, blood and flesh? Sand and stone? Chaotic? Chickens and dogs gone wild? Dance of the dragon and phoenix? Two eagles matched up? Two birds fighting? Swallows flyingโ€ฆ. Oh right. It should be the tower and the fox bickering, which made the spectator drool!

Every couple of seconds, someone would be sent flying. One moment they would repel each other, while the next they're mushed together again, tumbling, one after another, continuously.

Badass!๐žฐ๐‘œ๐—๐–Š๐—…๐’ฉ๐“ฎxt.๐’ธ๐—ˆ๐—†

Wu Ji was a badass and Lao Hei knew that.

Meng Fan was also a badass, and Lao Hei knew this as well.

But who knew Meng Fan could be this tough? He actually managed to match Wu Ji in skill using takedown techniques alone. It was like he had the wind in his step.

The match was approaching ten minutes, and more.

Lao Hei felt that Meng Fan had the wind in his step because during this time, Wu Ji had used the sweeping technique more than once to break away from Meng Fan.

Of course, Lao Hei knew that if Wu Ji had completely let himself go and used all his techniques, the results would be very different.

Of course. If Wu Ji had used another technique, then Meng Fan would have to consider switching his hat.

The fight continued until the door to the practice room burst open.

"Bro, stop!"

Wu Tong arrived in a rush and pushed the door open to see Wu Ji and Meng Fan sparring with each other. Immediately afterwards, she sawโ€ฆ Meng Fan holding Wu Ji above him.

"Meng Fan, put my brother down now!"

"Tong Tong!"

"Wu Tong!"

Wu Ji and Meng Fan called in unison as they saw Wu Tong. They were both dumbstruck.

Wu Tong was also slightly dumbstruck herself. She couldn't reach Meng Fan on his phone and had guessed that he was training at the dojo. She then calculated that her brother wouldn't have just gotten out of bed and couldn't confirm if the two had met or not. To prevent this from happening, she immediately headed over.

She was worried for Meng Fan!

Although Meng Fan managed to beat up two South Koreans and looked to be tough, her older brother was a professional!

She didn't warn her brother either, since she knew his personality. If she had said something, her brother would have rushed to the dojo anyways even if he didn't know of Meng Fan. But if he knew for sure that Meng Fan was at the dojo and was trying to stir up trouble, he would be even fiercer when they fought.

Wu Tong never would have thought that Meng Fan was not being bullied. He was actually holding up Wu Ji instead.

Once the worry was out of her system, she felt a wave of anger flush over her. "What the hell are you guys doing? Are you trying to piss me off?"

"Huh? Of course not, of course not."

Wu Ji and Meng Fan softened up immediately.

Meng Fan hurriedly let go of Wu Ji, who carefully slipped down. The two stood up side by side like elementary school children. Their eyes were dazed and seemed to be thinking of an excuse to tell their inquisitive teacher.

Their reaction speed was fast too, one speedier than the other. They looked at Wu Tong and pointed to the other and said in unison: "You guys know each other?!"

Wu Tong smiled coldly as she glared at them. "Go on, keep pretending."

"Pre-pretend?" Wu Ji looked innocent and then suddenly looked enlightened. He pointed at Meng Fan. "Tong Tong, what did you call him just now? Meng Fan? Oh, this punk is Meng Fan?"

Meng Fan also appeared to be shocked. "Wu Tong, what did you call him, brother? Oh my god, he's your brother!" He then found another excuse. "I was just thinking why my coach looked so familiar! Turns out he's your brother!"

Wu Ji's entire expression was fuming with anger upon hearing this. You think you're the clever one? He pointed at Meng Fan. "Don't try this with me, if I knew you were that punk ass Meng Fan, I wouldn't teach you even at gunpoint!"

Either way, neither one of them were willing to admit they had been fighting just now.

As Wu Ji finished, he turned to face Wu Tong with a smile plastered across his face. "Uhm, sis, sorry. I was, uh, it's like this. Basicallyโ€ฆyes yes yes, you see Hei Bro, yes Hei Bro. He asked me to help him coach this kid. As we were practicingโ€ฆ Hei said he wasn't feeling good, so I temporarily took over. I didn't think I'd forget about bringing you breakfast. Hei Bro, that's what happened, isn't it?"

"Huh?"

Since Wu Tong appeared, Lao Hei knew that there would be drama to watch today. Look at that. The two had just been fighting like barbarians, but they immediately turned into wimps the moment Wu Tong appeared. This scene was too entertaining!

But he didn't think it would involve himself, too.

He looked toward Wu Ji and Meng Fan's hopeless gazes then back at Wu Tong's scrutinizing eyes. Lao Hei didn't dare to offend the two dudes, but he was even more afraid of lying to Wu Tong.

It was said that despair can stimulate a person's desire for survival, and this was indeed the case with Lao Hei. He suddenly clutched his stomach. "Oh no, ouch ouch ouch."

Without another word, he ran out of the practice room.

It was exciting to watch, but his life was more important!

Wu Ji pointed to this. "See, he's not feeling well."

"Do you think I'm dumb? He ran off because he was scared of you." Wu Tong was huffing. She then crossed her arms and looked at the two. "Go on, don't you like to fight? Keep going! I'll watch!"

At this time, Wu Tong could already tell the two knew each other long before her arrival. Only, it was easy for Wu Ji to recognize Meng Fan, but Wu Tong was surprised that Meng Fan knew who her brother was.๐žฐ๐‘œ๐—๐–Š๐—…๐’ฉ๐“ฎxt.๐’ธ๐—ˆ๐—†

Based on Wu Ji's personality, he wasn't the type to declare his identity.

To Wu Tong, the only possibility was that Meng Fan learned of Wu Ji's name through Lao Hei. As for how Meng Fan knew that this name was associated with herselfโ€ฆ This was the mystifying part.

"What do you mean fight!"

Wu Ji continued to shake his head, looking concerned. "I can't keep teaching this kid anymore." He then immediately smiled. "Sis, aren't you hungry? Let's go, big brother will buy you some food."

Wu Tong looked Wu Ji up and down. It was best that they didn't fight, so she nodded. Looking towards Meng Fan, she asked: "Are you alright?"

Meng Fan's heart swelled with joy. He couldn't stop nodding his head. "Y-Yes, I'm okay! Seventh Bro is a great teacher!"

Wu Ji was triggered. "Don't call me Seventh Bro!"

Then, they both chose to shut up.

Wu Tong chuckled. "I was wondering how long you guys would fake it until!" She coldly stared at Wu Ji. "How many times have I told you, why won't you listen?" She then looked at Meng Fan. "Youโ€ฆ I'll deal with you tonight!"

"I don't have time to deal with you two now. You can do whatever you like. I'm leaving. You guys can continue to your heart's content!"

She turned and left.

Wu Ji glared menacingly at Meng Fan before hurriedly catching up.

"Tong Tong, it's alright if you're mad at me, you can hit me or scold me. But you can't meet this punk tonight!"

"Why would you meet at night! That's so dangerous!"

"This punk is nothing! Look at all those dumb scandals. He isn't even dating you yet, and he's already made several scandals. What would happen if you actually were dating!"

"And look at his appearanceโ€ฆ So patheticโ€ฆ"

Lao Hei didn't leave the practice room, but he was peering from the door. The gossip was too good to miss!

At this time, Wu Tong appeared with Wu Ji following her, muttering to herself.

Lao Hei immediately fell to his knees. He turned around and pretended to tie his shoes.

Hehehe. When did he see Wu Ji like this before? He's such a wump!

How exciting!

Thump.

Wu Ji chased him out and straight up kicked him from behind. Can you grow a brain? You aren't even wearing shoes! What the hell are you tying?!

Lao Hei crawled up after being punted and watched Wu Ji and Wu Tong depart. He then ran for the practice room and closed the door. He turned and raised his eyebrows at Meng Fan, an excited expression on his face. "Meng boss, what's the situation?"

"Ughh!"

Meng Fan sighed and gestured for Lao Hei to come closer. As soon as he did, Meng Fan immediately snatched for him and flung him away.

Lao Hei cried out. "Who did I piss off to deserve this!"

Meng Fan wanted to catch up to Wu Tong to explain. Although Wu Ji started the situation, he was still at fault for fighting with him even after knowing he was her brother. Most importantly, he had been hoisting Wu Ji above his head when Wu Tong broke in.

Only Wu Ji was already with her. It was inappropriate for him to catch up.

If he couldn't chase her, he might as well take out his anger on Lao Hei.

He better finish his experience fast. He can't stay here any longer!

Chapter 275: He Can't Learn Here Anymore

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Wu Ji chased Wu Tong outside of the dojo, not bothering to change his clothes. He was wearing a pair of flip flops as he followed Wu Tong into a taxi.

Seeing that she was heading back to the academy, he carefully asked: "You're not eating anymore?"

"I'm full of anger."

Wu Tong gave him a side eye. She was genuinely upset. "Bro, how many times have I told you? No matter what I say, is it useless?"

"Of course not, of course not!"

Wu Ji continued: "See, I didn't do anything since you told me last time! It's just, this punk is too much! He says he likes you and wants to pursue you, making everyone in the academy think you two are together. But you turn around for a second and what, he's got a scandal with a female celebrity. He needs a beating! Is that celebrity prettier than you? Of course not! What does this mean? He's a blind punk!"

Wu Tong was helpless. "You already said yourself it's just fake news."

Wu Ji heard this and felt he needed to retort. "I fought him nicely because it was fake news. If it really happenedโ€ฆ Hehe, see if he can stand!"

Wu Tong smiled coldly. "Heh. Then how come you were the one being hoisted when I enteredโ€ฆ"

Wu Ji flushed red instantly. "I was going easy on him! I only used takedown techniques on him. Otherwise, he'd be in the hospital by now!"

"Yes yes yes, I know you're very strong." Wu Tong turned seriously. "Bro, it's because you're so strong that I keep asking you to stay out of my business. I'm not worried about other people, but I'm worried about you breaking a law."

"I know, I know. I know my limits."

Wu Ji was most terrified of Wu Tong beginning to reason with him. He hurriedly diverted the subject. "Tong Tong, I could tell you like him, don't you? If you like someone, I must and I will support you wholeheartedly, no matter what. But not this kid. He's too treacherous. And he's a player. Regardless of the scandal or fake news, why can't that female celebrity start a scandal with someone else? Why did it have to be him! It has to be that this punk has some skewed thoughts!"

"Plus, this punk has a reputation of beating people up. No matter what the reason was, or what the result was, you have to admit he's very violence-driven. If you really end up with him, I will be so worried! Tong Tong, you're smart, but you're too naive! You don't know the evil of human nature!"

Wu Tong didn't know whether to smile or cry. "Bro, if you put it into contextโ€ฆ Then you're going to beat your future wife, right?"

"I'm different, I'm a professional!"

Wu Ji rapidly shook his head. His face flushed red again. For Wu Tong, he was willing to go through anything. Since violence didn't work, he could only try to coax her.

Evidently, his coaxing skills were lacking.

"Okay, I get it, Bro.I can deal with it on my own. Don't worry. Besidesโ€ฆ" Wu Tong's expression shifted as a smile appeared. "No matter how strong he is, is he stronger than you? After this, he must know his place. He won't dare treat me wrong from now on. If he's mean to me, you can beat him up again. Is that okay? Bro, are you worried he'll win against you?"

"Impossible! I could fight ten guys like him no problem. Don't worry, after this meeting, I guarantee he'll be obedient. He won't dare mistreat youโ€ฆ Wait!" Wu Ji suddenly reacted to what was happening. "What did you just say? You mean, you really see a future with him?"

Wu Tong smiled and changed the subject. "Bro, how did he recognize you?"

"Didn't you tell him? I don't know, either. At first he said I looked familiar, but he didn't recognize me. But as we were fighting, he recognized me. Wait, you answer my question first!"

After talking in circles, Wu Ji did not manage to persuade Wu Tong at all. On the contrary, Wu Tong managed to give him a whole lecture.

He dropped Wu Tong off at the academy and returned to the dojo full of discontent. He called Yang Feng to his office and gestured to him to sit down. "Tell me all the details about that punk during his time here."

"Meng Fan?"

Yang Feng was already updated on what had happened. He was very shocked, too; Meng Fan was actually able to fight on par against Wu Ji. As for the private matters between the twoโ€ฆ He wasn't interested.

When Wu Ji asked the question, he began to describe Meng Fan's characteristics, like his strength, hand speed, and what he'd taught him such as takedowns and captures. He also mentioned how fast he was at picking up new skills, and that he had incredible observation skills as well.

"Ji Bro, Meng Fan's qualities are flawless. Even if he had zero foundations before, his potential is endless with proper training." Yang Feng asked curiously. "Ji Bro, are you thinking what I'm thinking? To properly train this Meng Fan kid? Although he wanted to learn quick and practical combative skills, I think he will give it his best after learning the charm of fighting. With your coaching, he'd beโ€ฆ"

"To hell with that!"

Wu Ji was immediately irritated. "Yang Feng, let me promise you. From now on, you're not allowed to teach him anything no matter what he asks! Coaching, my as*. I want him to get the hell out of here right away. I don't even want him to have the chance to practice!"

No sh*t!

He barely learned anything and was able to beat Wu Ji to this state. If he really did learn something, he wouldn't be able to deal with this punk!

There was no way he'd let him continue learning!๐žฐ๐‘œ๐—๐–Š๐—…๐’ฉ๐“ฎxt.๐’ธ๐—ˆ๐—†

"Huh? Oh. Okay."

Yang Feng didn't know what was going on. It wasn't like Wu Ji to do such a thing.

After Yang Feng left, Wu Ji scratched his head. Yang Feng was right; this kid had some great foundations. Although he had zero experience, he was able to match Wu Ji in combat after just starting to learn yesterday. His potential was a terrifying thing. And his stature was good, too.

"F*ck!"

Wu Ji clutched his long hair into a bird's nest, then neatly tied it into a ponytail again. With a sullen face, he left his office and headed for the practice room. As he entered, he was greeted by Lao Hei thumping the ground, having been captured into submission by Meng Fan.

"Punk!"

Wu Ji tightened his face. "I have two things. One is an apology. But listen: I'm only apologizing for flipping you the first time. You deserved everything that came afterwards!"

Meng Fan could only respect such a hardcore apology. He had to shake his head. "No, Seventh Bro, you did nothing wrong. It was my bad!"

"Don't call me Seventh Bro!"

Wu Ji resisted the urge to body slam him.

Meng Fan chuckled as he nodded. "Uhm, Seventh Bro, didn't you say you had two things to say? What else?"

Wu Ji didn't want to look at this punk for a moment longer. He flipped his head and turned to leave. After a while, Yang Feng came in.

Yang Feng was curious as to what happened to Wu Ji. Just now, he had urged him with certainty to not teach Meng Fan anything. But why did his attitude change all of a sudden? And didn't Wu Ji already enter the practice room? Why did he need him to go back and explain it?

Yang Feng asked Meng Fan: "Mr. Meng, Ji Bro wanted me to ask you. Are you interested in becoming a professional martial arts athlete?"

Meng Fan shook his head curtly. "Nope."

Chapter 276: Hold On and Don't Lose it

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Meng Fan wasn't worried about Wu Ji ambushing him during training. He just wasn't interested. Learning here was for the trip to Singapore. It would be ridiculous if he really tried to become a fighter. He didn't like to abuse people or be abused, nor did he have a strong desire for fighting.

Yang Feng asked a few more questions, even giving some attractive bonuses. Of course, they were only appealing to people in the fighting world and not tempting to Meng Fan at all.

After confirming Meng Fan's lack of interest in this area, and remembering how much he wanted to study quickly, Yang Feng guessed that Meng Fan really just wanted to learn some techniques. He gave up on his persuasion and went to talk to Wu Ji.

"So what if he doesn't want to learn!"

Wu Ji retorted, but he did feel wistful. Meng Fan was annoying, but he was really built for this sport.

Then he thought, it's good that Meng Fan didn't want to learn. This way, he wouldn't have to worry about the kid showing him up.

Meanwhile, Lao Hei was feeling even more upset than Wu Ji.

Master Meng, if you don't want to be a fighter, why did you throw me this hard?

You practiced this much with me just to see me tap out?

For the whole morning, Meng Fan didn't rest at all. He worked so hard, as if he was trying to become a professional athlete.

After a break for lunch, he continued to practice. He kept fighting until five in the afternoon.

Even Lao Hei, a very durable fighter, had trouble enduring this regimen, even with breaks. He had to call up three other strong coaches to substitute him for three "half-hours."

After a whole day of practicing for almost seven hours, other than the debacle with Wu Ji and the three substitute coaches, which were less efficient, all training done with Lao Hei was very productive. Every hour produced over 100 points of "snatching" skills, and around five o'clock, he got the [Thousand Hand Snatch].

In the next twenty minutes, Meng Fan was using Lao Hei to familiarize himself with 10 new points in his snatching technique.

The 10 points in Wrestling Techniques were pretty comprehensive, including almost all of the snatching techniques, some of which Meng Fan knew and some he didn't. Currently, Meng Fan has become familiar with what he's learned and the extended lessons, and turned the knowledge into his own ability.

There's quite a bit left for which Meng Fan had gained theoretical knowledge. But with no practice, he hasn't transformed them into his own ability yet.

It wasn't difficult to transform them, he just needed to practice with Lao Hei on the theories. There's not enough time today, so Meng Fan decided to stop for now.

The new 3 in Hand Speed was easy to transform, or hardly needed to be transformed. He just needed to be familiar with it.

Finishing the [Thousand Hand Snatch] task was a lot faster than Meng Fan anticipated. This was thanks to the very resistant Lao Hei. If it was anyone else, it'd take at least another day or two.

But Meng Fan didn't gain any experience with [Wrestling Competition] today. He knew how to do takedowns but had no other wrestling techniques, it wasn't enough to overpower others.๐žฐ๐‘œ๐—๐–Š๐—…๐’ฉ๐“ฎxt.๐’ธ๐—ˆ๐—†

If he didn't run into Wu Ji, he would definitely come back tomorrow to learn dominating wrestling techniques from Yang Feng or Lao Hei. Now, he wasn't so sure.

While Meng Fan shamelessly called Wu Ji Seventh Bro, he was really nervous. The future Seventh Brother-in-law was not easy to please.

Meng Fan also had a feeling that Wu Ji was Wu Tong's actual older brother. If Wu Ji was just a cousin, they wouldn't look so much alike.

He actually picked up his brother-in-law from the ground in front of his future wife. The scene was really awkward.

How was he going to explain everything to Wu Tong tonight?

โ€ฆ

"Meng Fan, first of all, I want to apologize for my brother."

After meeting up at Waterfront Restaurant, before Meng Fan knew how to talk to Wu Tong, she spoke first. She smiled with a grimace, "My brotherโ€ฆ he's very direct and crude, he's not a big thinker. He did say that you just ran into each other at the dojo, and so he treated you like a trainee. He wasn't really going toโ€ฆ"

Wu Tong spread out her hands and looked resigned. "He just really wants to protect me. To him, I'm just a naive girl who knows nothing. In any case, I need to apologize for him."

Meng Fan shook his hands. "Actually, Seventh Bro has alreadyโ€ฆ apologized to me. It's really my fault. I just heard of the rumor about me. If it was my older or younger sister's boyfriend being rumored with others, I'd be upset too. I understand where he's coming from."

Wu Tong glanced at Meng Fan sideways, "Pfft, who's your girlfriend?"

Her coquettishness mesmerized Meng Fan.

"Here, a scarf."

Wu Tong tossed a bag at Meng Fan.

Her gesture was so light that Meng Fan could have picked it up easily. But in his stunned state, the bag landed on his face.

Wu Tong glared at Meng Fan, "Idiot!"

"Heh heh."

Meng Fan smiled like a moron and opened the bag. Inside was a scarf. It was thick and beautiful, and covered with embroidery. The pattern was a row of white birds flying over the trees.

White egrets flying in the sky!

Meng Fan looked mesmerized again when he saw the scarf. He put it over his neck and his face looked even more stunned.

The waiter passing by was surprised. Meng Fan often ate here and was well-known. He thought, what's wrong with Iron Hero today? Is it that cold? There's AC here. Is his brain fried?

Wu Tong stared at Meng Fan, "Take it off! Aren't you hot?"

Meng Fan sounded dimwitted. "It's not hot, it's warm. I can feel it."

Wu Tong was puzzled. "You think this is the Three-Nine Cold Medicine?"

Meng Fan, whether stunned or out of sorts, answered, "No, it's twice as much as three nine's."

Wu Tong was startled, then she tossed the tissue box at him.

Meng Fan was a little nervous. He was getting too daring now. If he kept going, he'd have to practice with tissue boxes all his life.

After the meal, Meng Fan paid the bill with the waiter, and the two of them left the Riverfront Restaurant. By now, it was dark and quite windy. It was not just cool but cold.

Wu Tong, "Should we walk a little?"

Of course, Meng Fan nodded. He wrapped the scarf around Wu Tong's neck while she smiled and stayed still. Meng Fan was clumsy as he happily tied the scarf. The result was not exactly elegant.

Wu Tong didn't mind. She turned and walked toward the streetlight, leaving a seductive silhouette.

Meng Fan, still mesmerized, didn't catch up for at least three seconds. The two of them walked together from the restaurant, to the school entrance, and then the play yard.

His arm next to Wu Tong was like his misplaced youth. He didn't know how to touch her hand. He tried and gave up countless times, always pretending the touch was accidental. Once, twice, three timesโ€ฆ Meng Fan counted the attempts in his mind. He looked up, as if he was counting the stars. He hoped the sky didn't end and their walk didn't end.

Suddenly, his hand felt cool.

He looked down at the hand which grasped his.

It was like the Milky Way had fallen on his hand.

Wu Tong didn't turn to look at him. She kept looking forward. "My hand was cold."

The way Meng Fan walked changed, his tongue also felt frozen. He finally blurted. "Me, too."

Wu Tong was waiting for him to say something like this. She glanced at him, then her hand, which grasped the back of his hand, slid into his palm.

She also slid into Meng Fan's heart, and she kept sliding inโ€ฆ

Wu Tong suddenly turned to Meng Fan and smiled at him, "Hold on. Don't lose it."

Meng Fan kept nodding his head, "Yes, yes, yes!"

"Idiot."

Wu Tong turned to look forward. There's darkness as well as lights ahead. There's also tomorrow.

Wu Tong yelled out his promise. "I'll put your hand in my pocket. I won't lose it, and your hand will be warm. I'll put you in my heart too, and I won't lose it! My heart is you, if you're lost, I'll die!"

"Yes."

Wu Tong nodded.

Meng Fan stuffed Wu Tong's hand with his into his pants pocket, then he moved them to his coat pocket.

Wu Tong suddenly blushed.

Meng Fan pretended nothing had happened.

They kept walking like this, neither speaking. The world seemed to have fallen silent, too. The looks and comments from passersby were all excluded from their world. They only had each other: his breathing, his heartbeat, her breathing, her heartbeat.

Chapter 277: A Declaration of Feelings

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

"What the โ€” ! Look who it is!"

"What's happening? Are they together?"

"It must be true love! I believe in love now!"

"They've been on campus before, but they've never held hands!"

"Must be! If they'd held hands before, everyone would have known."

"Is this an official announcement?"

"Wow, I thought the Iron Hero and Su Qingcen were together. But he's now dating the artist? He's a winner in everything!"

"Maybe this is his response to all the rumors."

"I think so, too. Su Qingcen is a star, she has to tell the public. The Iron Hero is not a celebrity, he just needs to tell Wu Tong."

"See, I told you. Wu Tong is just as good as Su Qingcen in looks, figure, and talent!"

"After that last rumor, people were saying that the Iron Hero is a frog who wanted to eat swan meat. Hah! They didn't know he really wanted to eat Wu Tong's meat!"

"โ€ฆ"

The impact of Meng Fan and Wu Tong walking together on campus was quite powerful. In less than ten minutes, at least 90% of the people in the school, from teachers to students, all found out.

The two of them were well-known in the art academy and popular, too. They weren't considered a good match at first, until everyone thought they were the perfect match. Regardless of fame, popularity, or curiosity, everyone wanted to see if they would end up together.

As people were speculating about them, they were suddenly seen holding hands, so the news was explosive.

Not to mention, as rumor had it, Meng Fan and Su Qingcen were supposed to be together!

Photos of Meng Fan and Wu Tong holding hands on campus were all over social media. Everyone, intentionally or unintentionally, saw it.

Wang Yanan, who had just come back from Da Mei Studio, also saw the photos. When she looked up, she noticed the unnatural expression on Jiao Yanran's face. She could only sigh.

So she missed the opportunity.

Wang Yanan totally supported Jiao Yanran in pursuing Meng Fan, but ever since Jiao Yanran found out Meng Fan liked Wu Tong, nothing happened.

Wang Yanan always thought Jiao Yanran and Meng Fan would be a good match, especially in height. But Wang Yanan had to admit that Jiao Yanran didn't have as much courage as Meng Fan.๐žฐ๐‘œ๐—๐–Š๐—…๐’ฉ๐“ฎxt.๐’ธ๐—ˆ๐—†

Meng Fan may have been less perfect than Wu Tong back then, but he still dared to pursue her, while Jiao Yanran didn't dare to go after Meng Fan.

When Jiao Yanran had a crush on Meng Fan, if she had tried pursuing him, everything could have been different.

Oh, well. Perhaps.

Qu Jingjing โ€” the leader of the legion of female fans and also the leader of the Iron Hero Guard Corps, which was created without Meng Fan's knowledge โ€” saw the photos, too. So did the other three members of the legion in her dorm room.

"Hugs, Jingjing."

"Don't cry, Jingjing."

"Jingjing, any regrets? If you started earlier, you could have had a chance. Now, the chance is slimmer."

Qu Jingjing liked the update on social media then smiled, shaking her head. "I don't regret it. I told you, the rumor about Iron Hero and Su Qingcen was fake. Iron Hero is not one of those players. See, that was a fake rumor. I don't regret liking Iron Hero, I'll keep liking him!"

There's no regret, but there's resignation.

Qu Jingjing regretted that she didn't know Meng Fan before Wu Tong. If she didโ€ฆ okay, her heart started to flutter at the thought.

She was Meng Fan's number one female fan. She knew what he was like before he met Wu Tong. To be honest, she didn't know if she would have liked him back then.

Qu Jingjing has liked Wu Tong ever since she saw her. It wasn't because she wanted to get closer to Meng Fan, she was just dazzled by Wu Tong. Later on, Qu Jingjing was impressed by Wu Tong's taste.

She even thought that if Meng Fan didn't meet Wu Tong and decided to pursue her, he wouldn't have improved so much, and she wouldn't have liked him so much!

Life was really magical!

Qu Jingjing made a fist with her hand, cheering on herself. If Meng Fan could improve himself for someone he liked, so could she. Even if she could never be beside Meng Fan, she wanted to make herself better, so she could have better choices!

The person who gained the best understanding of the word "choice" was probably the woman making coffee for Hu Tingsong. It was the same long-legged woman that Meng Fan and Wu Tong ran into one night, who called Hu Tingsong "honey."

She felt lucky that she picked the perfect moment to pursue Hu Tingsong, and managed to land him.

She also saw the news of Meng Fan and Wu Tong holding hands. She was actually grateful for the two of them.

If Hu Tingsong wasn't so in love with Wu Tong for years, he would have been together with other girls.

If Meng Fan didn't appear, then Hu Tingsong would never have given up on Wu Tong. She would also have been turned down like other girls who chased after Hu Tingsong.

She managed to enter Hu Tingsong's world at the best moment, which she occupied and won!

Hu Tingsong had plenty of flaws, but he was good-looking and rich, and he was from a well-known family.

She knew that, with her, whether it was looks, pedigree, or personal talent, she was out of her league with Hu Tingsong.

"Tired?"

She went over to Hu Tingsong, put the coffee down, then massaged his temples. "Take a break, let me massage you."

"Great."

Hu Tingsong put his phone face down on the table. He leaned back and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath.

She pretended that she saw nothing and nothing had happened. She kept massaging his temple.

โ€ฆ

It just so happened that at eight that night, the show Wu Tong recorded in the capital about national treasures aired. The most beautiful restoration artisan for classical art appeared in front of people. Her photos were shown before, but this time, people saw her in motion on the show.

Soon after the show aired, #MostBeautifulRestorationArtist started trending on Weibo. Clips featuring Wu Tong also went viral.

The clips with Wu Tong weren't long, but her looks, character, and style all made a deep impression on people. People have seen her face, but her personal style was seen for the first time. Her voice was angelic, every move of hers was pleasing to the eye, and the most striking thing was her deep understanding of classical art. The art skills she displayed were simply miraculous.

There were plenty of beautiful and talented people, but they were still impressive. Not to mention she was the youngest and most beautiful art restorer at the Forbidden Palace.

While people were busy calling her the "classical art princess," photos of her and her boyfriend were also posted in popular forums.

"The classical art princess already has a boyfriend. Look at him! You can't mess with a guy like that!"

"Wow, isn't he the Iron Hero?'

"Iron Hero is my idol! He was rumored to be with Su Qingcen, and now he's with the new classical art princess! He doesn't waste any time!"

"They were saying the hookup with Shan Jin Bro was a rumor. Now we know!"

On Weibo, people were busy talking about this development. On a forum at a Hangzhou college, a post titled "How Fatty Meng Got the Most Beautiful Artist" became very popular.

"The Origin of the Title 'Most Beautiful Art Restorer'โ€” Link"

"Today's National Art Treasures Show โ€” Link"

"Ways of Declaring Your Feelings at the Library โ€” Link"

"โ€ฆ"

A bunch of related articles were at the top of the post before the article continued.

"I started writing this post about two months ago. I was going to keep writing until Meng Fan and Wu Tong were together to publish it, and finally, it's time."

"I want to start with 'Ways of Declaring Your Feelings at the Library โ€” Link.' Most people know that, after they read the post, the crazy fat guy in the library telling every girl he liked them was Meng Fan. And a lot of people also know that he declared to so many people because he lost a bet."

"From this incident, we can deduce that the first condition for a fatty or loser getting their dream girl was having thick skin!"

Indeed, the article writer was Yu Xiaoyu, the observer of fringe people, who saw Meng Fan declaring his love for many girls in the library.

For the rest of the article, Yu Xiaoyu also analyzed Meng Fan's determination while jogging, generosity in donating to the marathon, earning money via the webcast, and attention while attending a concert with Wu Tong. Meng Fan only sang to Wu Tong at the Bai Zhi concert. He was willing to show his feelings for Wu Tong whenever and wherever, he had the courage, gentlemanliness, and machismoโ€ฆ

Yu Xiaoyu obviously started noticing Meng Fan as soon as he saw him. He knew Meng Fan's history very well. Many things which people didn't know or notice were all included in his observations.

The article was very long. It covered not only the events involving Meng Fan and Wu Tong, it also covered all of Meng Fan's changes after he began jogging and all of the later events, too. It helped people understand this relationship and what Meng Fan had been up to in the past few months.

After many words, the article ended with a lesson: Just give up, this is not something an ordinary person could achieve.

If he could do all of this, he was not an ordinary fat homebody: He was a diamond-studded fat homebody. Actually, he wasn't a fat homebody anymore; he was an Iron Hero!

Many comments were posted after the article, which were quickly re-posted in the discussion for #MostBeautifulRestorationArtist on Weibo.

Wu Ji didn't see the article, but he did see Wu Tong on TV. He also saw photos of Wu Tong and Meng Fan together.

Pow!

He kicked away the table in front of him.

Wu Ji had no doubt that his younger sister had her heart set on Meng Fan. Their holding hands together was her declaration.

Bastard!

"I hate this! I can't believe I helped him!"

Chapter 278: It Has Finally Come!

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Meng Fan held Wu Tong's hand and walked allover campus. Of course, he didn't try anything and was quite nervous.

Wu Tong knew he had something in his pocket.

Meng Fan felt lucky that Wu Tong didn't let him go or simply slap him.

Meng Fan's hands grew clammy after the walk. He didn't dare to think of anything else.

Without any stray thoughts, however, walking around like this made Meng Fan feel very happy.

"Alright, I'm going up."

Wu Tong slowly pulled her hand from Meng Fan's. She tidied the scarf around Meng Fan's neck, then, she lightly patted him.

The tenderness made Meng Fan feel so weak he almost collapsed.

"Hm."

"You better head back. It's cold."

"OK."

With a face filled with longing, Meng Fan watched Wu Tong go inside the girls' dorm.

"Iron Hero, you're so amazing!"

"Congratulations!"

"What a winner!"

"Yay, you're finally together!"

"Iron Hero, I'm so sad, but I still want to wish you well!"

"Bastard, you got my Wu Tong. You have to be happy!"

"โ€ฆ"

"Thank you, thank you."

Meng Fan was about to go back, but with all the congratulations from passing girls, he felt a little embarrassed and stood in place for a few minutes.

There were tons of well-wishes on his way home too. Meng Fan had no choice but to slow down. He didn't leave school until he collected 365 well-wishes.

His steps hurried when he left school. When there was no one around, he couldn't help but jump in excitement, and then chuckled.

"Bro, what's going on? Why so happy?"

A car stopped next to Meng Fan. The window lowered to reveal Charlie, who lived in the same neighborhood.

The online comments about Meng Fan and Wu Tong weren't at a fever pitch yet, so Charlie hadn't heard.

Meng Fan stopped laughing. "Director Charlie, what a coincidence."

"Wait for me at the entrance to your building. I need to talk to you."

They weren't far from the entrance, so Charlie parked his car in the garage and then met up with Meng Fan at the entrance.

"You're something else. You got on 'Voice Legend!'" Charlie complained. "You didn't even tell me when you got back."

When Di Feifei, a maven in the voiceover industry, and the voiceover advisor on "Voice Legend," called Charlie, he was shocked that Meng Fan went to MangoTV to be on "Voice Legend." The day before, Meng Fan was just a voiceover actor at the studio.

After Charlie heard Di Feifei say that someone's voiceover ability was crazy good, he was sure that this was the same Meng Fan. Other than Meng Fan, he couldn't think of anyone else who had the same kind of power to impress Di Feifei.

When Di Feifei wanted to borrow Meng Fan from the Chocolate Factory, Charlie didn't even hesitate.

Why did Di Feifei need Meng Fan?

Because she was giving Meng Fan voiceover work. When Di Feifei gave you work, it wasn't work, it was an investment!

There was definitely going to be some leftover resources, which meant Chocolate Factory could take advantage of them.

Plus, it was only borrowing Meng Fan, so Charlie readily agreed.

But he realized that it wasn't entirely up to him, Meng Fan had to agree as well.

"Ms. Di?"

Meng Fan didn't realize he would get a great opportunity like this from "Voice Legend." He replied, "No problem. It's just that I don't have a lot of time right now."

Meng Fan completed the voiceover mission, but he needed to keep doing voiceover work. This was his interest and dream, so he wasn't tossing it aside after the mission. However, before he left for Singapore, he really didn't have time, especially big chunks of time.

"They're not asking you to do it right now. She hasn't contacted me yet. I'm just letting you know now. If you're busy, take care of your stuff. I'll talk to you after I hear more. It should be flexible time-wise."

The two of them chatted some more in the night wind. After Charlie felt cold too, they parted ways.

Meng Fan took a shower after he got home. Before he did, he sent a WeChat message to Wu Tong and told her he was back. After his shower, Wu Tong had replied, so he wrote back.

"What took you so long?"

"I took a shower."

"Did anything naughty?"

Meng Fan was stunned by Wu Tong's message.

There were two reasons: Wu Tong's question was a little risque, and he was reminded of how he stuffed her hand in his pocket earlier.

"What naughty thing could I do in the shower?"

"Do I need to spell it out?"

"Actually, guys don't do naughty things in the shower, girls do. Why are you askingโ€ฆ"

Wu Tong sent an attack emoji and then something else, "I'll stop chatting now. Off to take a shower."

Meng Fan: "Go, I understand."

Wu Tong sent over many other emojis.

Meng Fan smiled stupidly. He loved chatting like this after holding hands. It was quite stimulating.

A notification.

Someone mentioned him in a group chat. Meng Fan grew nervous at the sight.

The eight daughters of the Meng family!

These days, everything from this chat group made Meng Fan freak out.

This group was the Meng family group with the seven Meng daughters and Meng Fan. In this group, Meng Fan's name was changed to Meng Caifan.

Before he opened the group chat, he saw some screenshots sent by Meng Caitang. There was news about her being accepted by an elite research center at Singapore National University (NUS), and her article on sports dynamics being published in some top journalโ€ฆ and the most important screenshot of all, news about her winning some big award.

Before he was reborn, Meng Fan went to Singapore for this award ceremony for Meng Caitang.

Meng Fan wasn't sure what award it was. It was some kind of amazing award, something a poor student like Meng Fan could never understand.

Meng Caitang was Meng Fan's younger cousin. She was a year younger. The year before last, when Meng Fan was in his first year in college, she had already graduated from Hong Kong University's undergraduate program and was accepted to NUS for graduate school.

She had a full scholarship at both Hong Kong University and NUS.

She was already guaranteed admission to Hong Kong University's graduate school, but she chose to change her school as well as major.

Meng Caitang wasn't born a genius. She was a typical student from elementary through middle school. She'd get a decent grade without studying too hard, but had no tutoring or extracurriculars. She liked to learn on her own and try experiments on Meng Fan and others, with Meng Fan being the biggest victim.

After she started high school, however, she seemed to have a breakthrough. She announced she was going to college in the second half of 10th grade. In just a few months, she got into college, the renowned Hong Kong University, with a full scholarship.

Later, when Meng Fan started college, she was already a NUS grad student.

Now that he thought about it, maybe his cousin had gotten a genius system!

Meng Caitang: "Gege, they all said they can't come to my award ceremony, but you have time right?"

"Gege, please come. If you come here, I'll treat you to plane tickets to Japan, and get you tickets to concerts and comic expos. There's plenty of that here."

Deep breath.

His fate paused at this moment. She had said the same exact things before he was reborn, with the same punctuations. His previous and current life had overlapped!

The turning point in his life, the plane hijacking, happened during the flight from Singapore to Japan.

More deep breathing!

Meng Fan breathed rapidly. While he was ready to go to Singapore, at that instant, he still hesitated.

He had just changed from a chubby homebody to the Iron Hero. He had just become a voiceover actor. He had just held hands with Wu Tongโ€ฆ

Would he get to come back?

God, fate, the curse on his life!

Swoosh!๐’๐žธ๐”ณ๐“”๐“๐—‡๐šŽxt.๐•”๐“ž๐“œ

Meng Fan breathed out and shakily typed, "I have time to go," then added an exclamation point.

Meng Caitang: "You're the best. I'm getting you tickets now!"

Soon, or after what seemed like a long time to Meng Fan, a screenshot appeared in the family chat group, showing a flight from Hangzhou to Singapore on the afternoon of the 10th.

Then tickets to various concerts and comic expos.

Chapter 279: The League of Morning Runners

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

After writing "I have time" and seeing the plane tickets, Meng Fan wasn't in the mood to stay in the group chat. He didn't see the various event tickets Meng Caitang sent, nor the "gifts" sent by the four older sisters.

His oldest sister, Meng Caiju, arranged for him to visit Shueisha and even see Eiichiro Oda. Second sister, Cailian, gave him reservations at the Aman Kyoto hotel and its Michelin-starred restaurant. Third sister, Meng Caiwei, was even more direct: She arranged for her friend, "10 Yuan," to have dinner with him. Fourth sister, Caihe, has just worked for a few years and wasn't as financially comfortable, so she found a pretty young woman to be Meng Fan's tour guide.๐’๐žธ๐”ณ๐“”๐“๐—‡๐šŽxt.๐•”๐“ž๐“œ

The plans they made for him were all for Kyoto. Plans in Singapore were up to Meng Caitang.

His two younger sisters also helped by giving a like to all the plans.

"Search videos, photos, and content related to wrestling teaching and competitions."

Meng Fan didn't look at the group chat again. He stared in place for a while. Then, he took out a streaming device to search everything related to wrestling.

If his fates had started to overlap, he was definitely going to Singapore and to confront his fate. He wasn't going to give himself a way out. He also didn't want to make any mistakes.

He couldn't afford to lose!

Earlier, Meng Fan had found some wrestling information while learning fighting techniques. It was a rough overview. However, even when he found some information, it wasn't useful to him. Meng Fan could understand very little back then.

Now, it was different. He's completed [Thousand Hand Snatch, and knew snatching very well. Plus, he's fought Yang Feng, Lao Hei, as well as Seventh Bro; he knew so much more now.

Meng Fan could tell if the materials were useful or not by now.

He asked the streaming device to organize the materials, picking useful lectures, competition videos, and other pictures and texts.

He was very observant. He had enough foundation to learn what he could from these materials and supplement the rest in his mind.

After reading for about an hour, he made some progress, but he knew these gains weren't as rapid as learning with Lao Hei and others.

Alright!

He'll go learn with them tomorrow.

He had to deal with Seventh Bro.

"Search for snatching content."

Meng Fan switched to searching for snatching-related content. After the [Thousand Hand Snatch] title, he earned 10 points in Snatching Techniques. Currently, he's converted all he's learned into his own power, and he didn't plan to learn the rest from Lao Hei and others.

Watching videos to learn complex snatching techniques โ€” and converting them to learn the rest of the snatching techniques โ€” would be faster than learning with Lao Hei and others. He only needed practice experience. When all the techniques were converted, he could go to Lao Hei for fight experience.

Studying makes one happy. Studying makes time pass quickly.

Before he knew it, it was around 2 a.m.

The learning process was pretty pleasing. Meng Fan watched videos as he followed along with his hands, and he managed to convert a lot of the knowledge.

The complex snatching techniques looked challenging, but Meng Fan gained the 10 points before, so he could assimilate a lot of the knowledge.

After the conversion, the theory became actual techniques. The only thing lacking now was experimenting and seeing if the techniques worked in actual fights. Or technically, while the techniques could always be used in the fights, would they be very powerful?

Meng Fan studied intently, but he didn't miss any of Wu Tong's messages.

If anything, Wu Tong's messages made Meng Fan more motivated.

They had just held hands. He needed to come back alive!

The next morning, he went jogging as usual, and Wu Tong showed up too. Then, Meng Fan noticed something weird.

There were a lot of runners at the sports field.

There were usually a few joggers, but at most ten or so people. Today, however, there were at least fifty people running.

He took a closer look. Most of the runners were overweight.

Meng Fan was a little surprised. "What's going on?"

Wu Tong rolled her eyes. "It's you."

Meng Fan was confused. "Me what?"

Wu Tong was curious. "Didn't you read that post?"

"Post?"

Meng Fan didn't know about the post by Yu Xiaoyu, which was posted to a Hangzhou college's online forum. He was busy reading about wrestling and snatching all night.

The post recounted all the necessary conditions for Meng Fan to capture Wu Tong's heart. While the conclusion was that everyone should give up, that it's not something you could copy, many readers still became motivated and decided to start running.

Running and exercising were always helpful; one might not be able to win their dream girl, but becoming fitter would indeed give one more choice in life.

Even if one didn't gain anything, one's health was one's own, and would be appreciated more.

"Iron Hero! Wu Tong!"

As the two of them finished jogging and were stretching, a chubby guy and a slightly overweight girl walked over. The girl apparently knew Wu Tong. She just finished jogging; panting, she asked, "We started a 'League of Morning Joggers,' and wanted to invite you to join. Would that be okay? You don't have to do anything, you can be our spiritual idols."

Meng Fan wasn't sure what had happened, but Wu Tong already nodded. "Great. Xi Lin, you can add me to the group." Then, she added. "Later, I'll send some notes about jogging and poses to the group. Make sure you protect yourself during jogging."

Wu Tong was a warm person. She didn't care if she was some classical art princess.

Speaking of protection during jogging, Wu Tong glanced at Meng Fan. To be honest, she still didn't know how Meng Fan didn't hurt his knees while jogging, especially as he was very heavy when he started running.

Meng Fan quickly nodded when he saw Wu Tong asking for his advice.

The young guy and girl quickly left after some congratulatory words when Meng Fan and Wu Tong agreed to join their group. They didn't want to bother this new couple.

Wu Tong started blushing after they left. When she saw Meng Fan's heated gaze, she shoved him, and Meng Fan leaned back while chuckling.

"Tongโ€ฆ Tong Tong."

Meng Fan carefully called her. Seeing no objection to the nickname, he smiled and said, "Um, I want to go to the dojo again. I have some problems to consult with Lao Hei. Don't worry, I won't fight with Seventh Bro again."

"Seventh Bro?!"

Wu Tong glared at Meng Fan, finishing her stretches. "I'm with my team today. You can go wherever you want!"

Since she knew her Seventh Bro couldn't hurt Meng Fan, she wouldn't stop their meeting. If anything, it'd be good if they fought, since neither man could be bullied. She knew both men's personalities very well. They might even become friends after these fights instead of enemies.

Chapter 280: Fighting Again

"Wait, wait, wait!"

Slap slap slap!

Lao Hei tapped the floor quickly, his face pale. He wasn't hurting, but he was scared.

"Master Meng, where did you learn to do this snatching? This is crazy! If you really used all your strength, I'd be disabled!"

After coming to the dojo today, Meng Fan and Lao started practicing. At first, it was regular foundation work, then they moved onto converting knowledge into power.

Lao Hei wanted to cry after just a few moves.

Meng Fan felt good about what he's done so far. He could tell it worked by looking at Lao Hei. He smiled and said, "I learned it online."

Lao Hei almost fainted. "Online? You're learning random stuff online and using it on me? I could have been killed!"

Lao Hei didn't think of how Meng Fan could learn something so well online. He was barely hanging on to his life.

"No more, no more!"

Lao Hei shook his head really hard. "You'll kill me like this!"

Meng Fan didn't want to give up on such a learning experience. He laughed. "I'm kidding. I learned all of this from Seventh Bro. I couldn't have overpowered you with random moves, right?"

"Really?"

"Really!"

"Take it easy on me!"

Lao Hei thought about it. It must be true. He couldn't have been taken down with unorthodox moves. Not to mention, other than that move earlier, the rest were formal snatching moves. If Wu Ji did teach Meng Fan those, then it made sense that the moves were complex and unusual.

As to why Wu Ji would teach Meng Fan, it was obvious.

Lao Hei spent a lot of time reading that online post yesterday so that he wouldn't be so clueless in the future. He didn't understand everything, but he knew Meng Fan was potentially a brother-in-law to Wu Ji. They were definitely family.๐’๐žธ๐”ณ๐“”๐“๐—‡๐šŽxt.๐•”๐“ž๐“œ

That fight yesterday?

It was their family business. Outsiders like him better stay out of it.

Lao Hei was curious about one thing. Based on the online photos, Meng Fan was still an overweight homebody two months ago. How did he get so buff so quickly?

Just from running? It's so bizarre.

He had to have a lot of self-discipline.

Lao Hei was a coach, so he knew something about fitness and weight loss. Losing weight from just running would be very difficult.

Usually, one needed to combine aerobic with anaerobic exercises to lose weight.

Lao Hei wanted to ask, so he did. Meng Fan's answer: He ran 20 kilometers a day.

Wow! With so much running, Meng Fan could be even leaner!

More questions followed. How did such a chubby body support so much? Meng Fan chuckled and said genius things were hard to explain.

What else could Lao Hei say?

Genius? To Lao Hei, Meng Fan was a God-level talent in this area.

Soon, Meng Fan managed to use all the snatching techniques he saw from online videos on Lao Hei.

"You're insane!"

After a whole set, Lao Hei was a mess. The physical injuries were one thing; he was hurt mentally, too.

"Master Meng, are you sure Ji Bro taught you all this? Even if you spent all day and all night learning together yesterday, you couldn't have learned this much snatching!"

Lao Hei was recommended as a coach by Yang Feng because of two things. He was durable, and he was good at anti-snatching. Obviously, he was good at snatching as well. Lao Hei was very familiar with this skill.

Compared to Meng Fan, Lao Hei felt he didn't know anything at all about snatching!

It was frustrating comparing yourself to others!

Meng Fan laughed. "Seventh Bro is a good coach."

Clang!

The door was pulled open. Wu Ji walked into the private practice room with a frown. He pointed at Meng Fan angrily. "Don't call me Seventh Bro!"

Startled, Meng Fan stopped talking. Speak of the devilโ€ฆ

Wu Ji stared at him. "When did I teach you snatching?!"

Meng Fan crossed his fingers and whispered. "In my dreams."

Wu Ji looked ready to hit him. "Dreams?"

Meng Fan nodded. He might as well keep lying. "Hm, I thought you were teaching me in my dreams. How else could I have learned so much snatching? It's like that movie 'King of Beggars' with Stephen Chow. He learned the Lohat Fist while dreaming."

Wu Ji laughed about the ludicrous answer. "Was I the old beggar?"

Meng Fan answered shamelessly. "Or maybe you're the reincarnation of Seventh Uncle Hong."

"The old beggar is not Seventh Uncle Hong, okay? Did you even watch the movie? Why am I wasting time talking about this?" Wu Ji was frustrated at the change in topic. He pointed at Meng Fan. "Yang Feng asked you yesterday if you wanted to go pro. You said no. Why are you here again?"

Meng Fan answered guiltily. "I wasn't interested in professional fighting, but I wanted to learn some basic fighting techniques. You know, to protect myself and to protectโ€ฆ Tong Tong."

It was not a good idea for Meng Fan to mention this. Wu Ji looked like a volcano ready to erupt. His eyes landed on Meng Fan's right hand, the same hand which had held Wu Tong's hand before.

Suddenly, Wu Ji seemed to take a deep breath. His face relaxed as he smiled and said, "Might as well. If you want to be with my sister, I won't stop you. I can't stop you anyway. It's nice that you want to protect her. How about this? Tell me what you want to learn, and I'll teach them to you."

Meng Fan shook his head immediately. "No, no, nothing to learn. I learned a lot from Lao Hei already. I'm good!"

Meng Fan would be a moron if he couldn't tell Wu Ji was acting here.

Even Lao Hei could tell Wu Ji was trying to beat Meng Fan in the name of teaching him.

What's going on with these brothers-in-law?

"Nothing to learn? Oh, no. You have a lot to learn to be able to protect Tong Tong."

Wu Ji was doing warm-up. Seeing that Meng Fan was ready to flee, he stopped warming up and chased after Meng Fan. "You have to learn, no matter what!"

This time, Wu Ji didn't want to limit himself to takedowns and snatching!

Just those skills weren't enough to hurt him. He needed to beat Meng Fan this time!

"Tell me, which hand did you touch Tong Tong with?"

"Wanna learn the Scissor Kick?"

"How about the Cross Fix?"

"Bastard, I was letting you win yesterday. Today, you'll know the real me!"

"Which hand touched her?"

"โ€ฆ"

"Ow! Seventh Bro, stop!"

"Seventh Bro, I promised Tong Tong I won't hit you!"

"Seventh Bro โ€” Wu Ji, you're a bastard! Why are you using this low-down move?"

"โ€ฆ"

Meng Fan had already gained 10 points in Snatching Techniques. With his power and Hand Speed, he wasn't afraid of Wu Ji at all.

This time, Lao Hei was prepared. He found a stool somewhere and took out a pack of sunflower seeds to snack on.

"Feng Bro! Here, have some sunflower seeds!"

Chapter 281: Ready

"Stupid punk, I'm not done with you yet!"

"Idiot, don't leave! Keep fighting! Come on!"

"Stupid punk, don't be arrogant. I haven't even used up half of my skills today yet. Next time, you won't be so lucky!"

"Dumbass, if it wasn't for Tong Tong, you'd lose both your lands today!"

"Idiot, are you not satisfied? Come on, let's go again!"

"Fine, dumbass. Who's afraid of who!"

Yang Feng and Lao Hei both laid on the floor as the other two taunted one another, panting from exhaustion. They tapped the powder off their hands and helped each other to stand.

Keep fighting? Can you even stand up?

"Dumb punk, if you have balls come again tomorrow. I'll destroy you!"

"Idiot, if you don't come tomorrow then you're a coward. Watch me break you!"

The two who had been pulled apart were still screaming threats at each other. Lao Hei was diligent though and ran over to open the doors to the practice room. In a moment, the argument between them suddenly stopped.

Wu Ji wanted to save face; how could he let others know that he'd fought evenly with Meng Fan? How would he live!

Meng Fan wimped out, tooโ€ฆ How could he let other people know that he fought with Wu Ji again? What would happen if Wu Tong found out!

"How about it? Isn't he talented?"

Yang Feng and Wu Ji returned to the office, eyes gleaming. "If this kid doesn't go professional, it would be a huge pity! Ji Bro, no matter what, you have to find a way to make this kid go pro. He's barely learned anything yet and he's already at this level. If you give him a month โ€” no, half a month โ€” I'll bet he could beat everyone in the MMA circle. With a few more months of practice, he could fight in UFC no problem!"

MMA was comprehensive fighting, while UFC was the ultimate championship for this category. At the moment, it is the world's largest professional MMA tournament.

Wu Ji glanced at Yang Feng and smiled coldly. "Okay, put those thoughts away. That dumb punk said he wasn't interested, so don't try to force him or trick him again."

He originally planned to train Meng Fan in MMA fighting, since he did possess the talent and potential, which would be wasted otherwise. But Meng Fan had rejected, so Wu Ji did not want to pursue.

After the news of Meng Fan and Wu Tong holding hands was revealed yesterday, he lost the urge completely. He understood Meng Fan; the stupid punk had a decent tolerance, so there's no point forcing him to follow this path if he wasn't interested.

He didn't want his precious sister to hate him, or worse, be worried.

To be honest, even if Meng Fan was willing, he wasn't.

He stood up and headed for the shower attached to his office. Afterwards, he called a professional massage therapist.

This punk didn't hold back!๐’๐žธ๐”ณ๐“”๐“๐—‡๐šŽxt.๐•”๐“ž๐“œ

"You're so badass, Master Meng!"

Lao Hei said as he massaged Meng Fan's joints, helping him relax. He continued to boast. "You really provoked Ji Bro to an extreme! Badass, you're such a badass! Ji Bro just now used every technique he had in his arsenal, aside from hitting and kicking, and he still couldn't suppress you! Respect, man! You got my respect!"

"So, Seventh Bro really only used half of his skills?" Meng Fan asked.

Lao Hei laughed. "Depends how you look at it. If you can't deal with hitting and kicking, he could have gotten by just using ten percent of his skills. But if you can handle it, then it means nothing. Of course, Ji Bro's fist is very harsh and alive. Even if he idly exchanged fists with you, you'd be in big trouble."

"Lao Hei, only my capture technique can be used in combat. Can you teach me some wrestling moves?" Meng Fan interrupted.

"What, you really want to learn?" Lao Hei asked.

Meng Fan nodded. "Seventh Bro will definitely come in tomorrow, I can't miss out!"

"This isn't good, is it?"

Lao Hei heard this and began to chuckle. To be honest, he got a kick from watching Wu Ji get beat up. Normally, he would never witness such a scene!

"it's just that my submission, grounding, and capture skills are average, so I'm afraid I can't teach you well."

"It's alright, you can just teach me the basics."

"No problem, then. But Master Meng, let's agree now. If you learn this, you'll only use it on Ji Bro and not on me!"

"Of course!"

After taking a well deserved break, Lao Hei began to teach Meng Fan the surrender technique. Meng Fan was a fast learner and didn't request to learn too much. He only needed to learn two or three moves in depth. After learning them, he could rely on his other "wrestling skills" to gain experience from sparring with Lao Hei. As long as he could complete the task and gain the 10 Wrestling Skills attribute, it would be easy to go back and learn the more difficult moves.

Half an hour laterโ€ฆ

"Master Meng, you're not keeping your word!"

"F*ck, let go of me!"

Thump thump thump!

Meng Fan had learned two types of ground level submission techniques, the two most basic ones. One of them was a riding technique and the other was a side riding technique along with a lateral suppression. It sounded simpler to exert dominance from behind, but it required a good posture.

As Lao Hei thumped the ground, the experience for [Wrestling Competition Tyrant] becan to skyrocket.

In the blink of an eye, several days had passed, with Meng Fan spending all of his mornings and afternoons at the dojo.

Everyday, he would spar with Wu Ji. To be honest, even men like Meng Fan who weren't interested in combat felt very good, since through the process of fighting with Wu Ji, he was able to gain a lot of combat experience.

As for the experience for [Wrestling Competition Tyrant, he was able to pass most of the fights and gain experience. Of course, when Lao Hei couldn't handle him anymore, he would still ask others to substitute.

Lao Hei was still very willing to train with Meng Fan, though. Aside from the lucrative fees and Meng Fan's attitude, he was learning a lot as well.

From a capturing perspective, Lao Hei felt as if he'd been reborn in the last few days. Although he continued to get pummeled by Meng Fan, it also allowed him to gain precious experience. After experiencing being captured by Meng Fan, Lao Hei felt like the number of people who could capture him now was plummeting!

The same was true about grounding skills as well. His technique had improved greatly during their training.

"Ding!"

At 10:00 a.m. on December 9th, Meng Fan was able to complete the task and gain the title [Wrestling Competition Tyrant, despite wrestling being way more difficult than capturing, and despite the high energy consumption it took to fight with Wu Ji everyday.

"Ding! You've completed the task [Wrestling Competition Tyrant, receiving the title [Wrestling Competition Tyrant] (Wrestling Skills 10, Strength 3)"

Next, it was time to ask Lao Hei to teach him some advanced techniques and experiment with his newly added attributes.

Once he was able to fully transition his skills, Lao Hei was done for.

"Why are you so f*cked up! You've only been learning the basics for a few days, but you pick up everything so fast. Even gods aren't as efficient as you! Master Meng, tell me honestly, are you popping off?"

"You realized? Hahahaha!"

Meng Fan sat on top of Lao Hei to massage and relax his muscles. Lao Hei was such a great experience booster, he can't afford to beat him to death.

Once he earned the title of [Wrestling Competition Tyrant, he was ready.

At this point, if an accident were to happen, then it would really be his own fault!

Chapter 282: Continued Life Against the Heavens

After completing the two tasks and receiving the title, Meng Fan had gained 10 Capture skills and 10 Wrestling skills. With the additional 3 Hand Speed and 3 Power, Meng Fan was really eager to fight with Wu Ji again. But unfortunately when he asked, Wu Ji had an emergency and was on his way back to Shanghai.

He learned from Lao Hei that Wu Ji had been promoting the spread of MMA in Huaxia.

The Feng Ji Dojo in Hangzhou used to be called Wufeng. Wu Ji became a shareholder last year, and managed to maintain a large portion of the existing faculty. Currently, he managed to change it into a MMA professional training facility.

This was a feat because MMA had only been known in the Huaxia region over the last couple years. It was difficult to promote this sport to Ha

Currently, most of the professional MMA training facilities were located in Shanghai. Wu Ji had also opened a similar dojo for MMA training there.

Feng Ji Dojo was considered an experimental facility that was introduced outside of Beijing and Shanghai, but the actual business at the time was not doing that great.

But after they introduced a professional training facility, Feng Ji's administrative statistics grew rapidly. After all, it was run by professionals. When it came to peak combat training, no dojo in Hangzhou could beat Feng Ji. It was very difficult to transition to a professional level.

The last year at Feng Ji resulted in some very profitable numbers, which essentially gave Wu Ji another cash machine. It was an unexpected surprise.

If he didn't run into Meng Fan, a suitable sparring partner, Wu Ji would have left for Shanghai two days earlier after processing some business in Hangzhou.

"He left?"

When he heard Wu Ji was already back in Shanghai, Meng Fan immediately lost interest. "That idiot must be scared silly of me. He didn't even tell me he was leaving; probably scared I'll pull him out for a last fight."

Lao Hei heard Meng Fan muttering and began to laugh. "Why do I feel like you guys have developed a bond? Makes sense. If you are holding someone and tumbling around everyday, feelings are bound to appear. If I didn't know you two savages better, I'd suspect you guys have already formed a relationship."

Meng Fan heard this and sat on top of Lao Hei, beginning to shake. He chuckled. "Don't you think what we have is called a real relationship?"

Lao Hei bridged his body to escape, fear on his face. "Master Meng, don't forget, you're now a man with a girlfriend. Don't be so gay with me. Let me tell you, Lao Hei is not that kind of person!"

Meng Fan bellowed with laughter as he stretched. "I'm not teasing. Let's call it a day. Oh, right, in the next few days, I have to leave for a while and won't have time to come here. Take care of yourself. Once I return, I'll come back to spoil you."

"Where are you going? Are you following Wu Ji to Shanghai to continue your fight?" Lao Hei asked.

Meng Fan smiled and shook his head. After stretching, the two headed for the shower rooms. Lao Hei had planned to treat Meng Fan to lunch, but Meng Fan declined, saying he had some business to take care of and left.

The class had ended early today, and Meng Fan was able to head to Da Mei Studio after leaving the dojo. Coincidentally, he ran into FlatHeadBro once again, delivering milk tea and coffee. After chatting for a while, the guy left as urgently as he'd come.

"What have you been up to lately?"

Seeing Meng Fan in the studio, Qin Jiao asked him, slightly irritated. "Some professional elective professors were saying you've already missed several days of class, without excusing yourself either!"

This was a life and death situation, how could he have the heart to go to class? But Meng Fan didn't dare say this out loud. He found some mediocre excuses that wouldn't hold up, then told her he wanted to take a few days off.

Qin Jiao scrunched her brows. "You haven't even explained why you've been skipping class lately, and you want to take more time off? And for a long time, too. Why don't you just drop out?"

Meng Fan didn't dare respond to this. He hurriedly explained that he had to go to Singapore to attend Meng Caitang's award ceremony, then pounded his chest, promising that he would attend classes properly once he returned, and that he wouldn't fail his exams.

In the end, Qin Jiao reluctantly agreed, despite being very unhappy. She waved her hands and told Meng Fan to get out of her sight.

"I'm not leaving. I want to eat dinner with you before leaving. I haven't had dinner with my big sister in a long, long time!"

"Shoo shoo shoo, who's your sister!"๐’๐žธ๐”ณ๐“”๐“๐—‡๐šŽxt.๐•”๐“ž๐“œ

"You!"

"How is your skin getting thicker and thicker!"

After polishing off a takeout meal ordered by Chen Daqiang, Meng Fan was finally able to leave Da Mei Studio satisfied. He thought about it, then turned to head for the Chocolate Factory. He didn't plan to dub anything and just wanted to chat with Director Charlie and Lou Lan.

Back at school, Meng Fan then strolled to the studio eerily and chatted with the studio administrator, Ms. Chen Fu. Coincidentally, he also ran into Freckles.

He then went to his dormitory. Zhang Zhouwei and Chen Daqiang were still at the studio, and Xing Tage wasn't back yet either. When he called him, Meng Fan heard gasping on the other end. Xing Ta Ge said he was exercisingโ€ฆ so Meng Fan decided to take a stroll through the dormitories next door.

He didn't know what he was feeling exactly, but he just wanted to see everyone he could.

At around eight, Wu Tong appeared at the exit of Hu Hang's studio.

"Hungry."

Wu Tong looped her arm through Meng Fan's elbow and looked at him carefully. She slightly creased her brows. "What's wrong? Something is on your mind."

Meng Fan shook his head, then nodded. "I don't know what to say. I just think life is so wonderful. Sometimes it's dreamlike, sometimes it's too real. But it's still hard to differentiate between what's real and what isn't."

Wu Tong smiled. "Why are you thinking of this all of a sudden?" She then waved her hand. "Holding hands is real, right? What, are you afraid that I'll disappear after you get back from Singapore?"

Meng Fan had already told Wu Tong he would be going to Singapore.

He wanted to clarify that he was afraid that he himself would disappear after going to Singapore, but this wasn't an easy sentence to say.

He then smiled. "I think I'm just too happy for my own good. Come on, let's go eat."

Wu Tong nodded. She still felt that Meng Fan was hiding something, but since he didn't want to talk about it, she didn't have any further questions. Wu Tong knew that after the two had started dating, their hearts had gotten closer. She didn't require that their lives overlapped completely; sometimes, it was good to have some personal space and time away from each other. This would create a buffer for feelings between two people.

Meng Fan was thoroughly stuffed after just coming from a meal. The two then went off to watch a movie.

The next morning, they followed their morning run routine as usual. At noon, Wu Tong took the afternoon to eat lunch with Meng Fan before seeing him off at the airport. She only left after his plane departed.

December 10th, 18:35. The plane landed at Changi Airport in Singapore.

When he arrived, an alert sounded in Meng Fan's head.

"Ding! You've triggered the task [Continued Life Against the Heavens]."

"The task requires you to survive until December 14th, 2019 and arrive in Japan to continue your unfinished life before reincarnation."

"Upon completion, you will gain 10 points toward any attribute."

Chapter 283: Treat Him Gentle

"Continued Life Against the Heavens? This is really testing fate!"

Meng Fan was prepared for the task he'd just triggered. He felt for sure he would run into some System-related tasks on this journey. After all, this was the day he died. But he didn't think it would trigger the moment he landed, and it was a special task at that.

Although the System in his mind didn't have a proper name, Meng Fan had deemed it the Accomplishment System. The entire time, all the tasks were related to achievement titles.

"10 towards any attribute?!"

This reminded Meng Fan of the extra rewards he'd obtained from the ten titles reward. But last time, it was different. Last time, he had the choice between adding 10 random attributes, or 5 on selected attributes. In the end, he didn't understand the situation and chose the 5 to assign. This time, he had all 10, and he could do whatever he liked with them.

Except for increasing the special attribute of Luck, of course.

As for the time mentioned in the task, it was aligned with Meng Fan's schedule before reincarnation. He had taken the flight from Singapore to Tokyo on the night of the 13th. He had been reincarnated around 11:30 that night of the 13th. If he could survive until the 14th, then it would truly be connected to his reincarnation.

It wasn't an overstatement to say he was literally defying the heavens.

"Mr. Meng, we're here."

The gorgeous woman in a tailored business suit sitting next to Meng Fan gently patted his shoulder, deliberately lingering her hand for a moment before pulling it away. Seeing Meng Fan look over, she revealed a most beautiful smile. "Mr. Meng, where are you headed? Do you want my driver to drop you off somewhere?"

"Thanks, I have someone coming to get me already."

Meng Fan didn't have a great impression of this pretty woman, since he had met her as well before his rebirth. Only at that time, her attitude toward him had been completely different. She hadn't bothered to conceal her disgust towards him, compared to her seducing glances now.

The woman didn't know that Meng Fan was a celebrity of some sort but had solely reacted in that way because of the charm Meng Fan exuded.

Of course, Meng Fan didn't want to reciprocate her bad behavior. He received her business card that she handed to him but mentally told her to save it when it came to eating dinner together.

Then like a true gentleman, he helped the woman grab her suitcase and casually walked out of business class.

"Goodbye, Iron Hero."

One of the flight attendants had recognized Meng Fan. She smiled and waved at Meng Fan before he departed the plane and handed Meng Fan a napkin. "You have something on your shirt."

"Oh, thanks. See you."

Meng Fan took the napkin but couldn't find any stains on himself as he walked out. He then saw the row of numbers written on the napkin. It was a phone number.

He turned to see the stewardess smiling at herself and became too embarrassed to throw the tissue into a garbage can. He could only tuck it inside his pocket and keep walking.

After losing his body fat and gaining 16 points of Charm, the world was completely different. It seemed everyone treated him with more gentleness and kindness.

Hopefully, because of this, the world will be kinder as well.

The Changi Airport in Singapore is considered one of the best airports in the world and has won this title for six consecutive years in a row. Changi Airport has another name: the "Changi Experience." While there were top-notch restaurants, retail, and entertainment facilities here, the airport also had a butterfly ecological park. Whether you were waiting for a flight or transferring in between, you could have a wonderful experience there.

It wasn't an overstatement to say that you could spend several days in this airport without tiring.

Terminal 2 had a special passage for business class VIPs. The service was incredible, and Meng Fan was able to meet the person picking him up very fast.

Like before, Meng Caitang had been busy and asked a friend to get Meng Fan.

"Hello, I'm Meng Fan."

Meng Fan soon appeared in front of Lin Xiaoxiao, who had been assigned to pick him up. Lin Xiaoxiao was still looking for Meng Fan, despite Meng Fan's presence being so prominent. This was because Xiaoxiao had met Meng Fan two years ago when he had dropped off his fourth sister with his second sister in Singapore; Lin Xiaoxiao still thought Meng Fan would look like a chubby boy.

Lin Xiaoxiao was Meng Caitang's roommate, but she was significantly older than Meng Caitang. At the time, Caitang was 19, while Xiaoxiao was already 25.

At the time, Lin Xiaoxiao was in her second year of masters. They ended up living together because of their professional similarities, their teaching backgrounds, and both of them were Chinese.

This year, Lin Xiaoxiao was 27, and if Meng Fan was right, she would be taking her PhD. Although she was nothing compared to Meng Caitang, she was also a hefty spawn of the devil.

Dressed like an elite business woman with short hair, she looked very capable and eye catching as well. It was very different from the typical stereotype for female PhD students.

"Youโ€ฆ you're Meng Fan?"

Meng Fan was already standing in front of her, but Lin Xiaoxiao was hesitant to admit it. She looked him up and down carefully before confirming, slightly flushing red. "You've changed a lot."

Meng Fan smiled. "Sister Xiaoxiao, you've also changed a lot. You've gotten prettier."

Lin Xiaoxiao heard this and flushed even redder. She didn't dare meet Meng Fan's eyes. She was 100% sure that she wasn't part of the appearance association, but she couldn't hold back her skipping heart.

There is an online term in China for people who are infatuated/easily attracted to a person based on their appearance and looks, "the appearance association" is the term for this group of people.

Lin Xiaoxiao remembered the first time they had met. She had been confused then. His two older sisters and one younger sister were all very beautiful, so why did their brother look like he found his face in the dumpster? Now she understood. He was just playing around.

"Uhm, let's go."

Lin Xiaoxiao reached out to help Meng Fan carry his luggage but didn't persist after seeing Meng Fan shake his head and smile. She took Meng Fan to the parking lot, and they drove off in a BMW Series 1.

"Is it hot?" Lin Xiaoxiao asked.

Singapore had a tropical climate, so the temperature during December was around 25 degrees Celsius. It was considerably higher than Hangzhou's temperature.

Meng Fan nodded. "A little."

He rolled down the window halfway, then took the opportunity to release the live stream assistant to its invisible state. Relying on his virtual screen, he found a suitable location in the airport and rested the drone-like machine to broadcast the T2 terminal. It was high enough to capture all the people entering and leaving and far enough from the cleaning staff to reach.

Meng Fan wasn't sure if he could spot the hijackers this way, but it was better to be prepared.

There were four hijackers in total, and Meng Fan couldn't recognize all of them. However, the one that Meng Fan had crushed prior to his rebirth, who delivered Meng Fan the bullet that sent him to his death, had been etched in Meng Fan's memory. Only it wasn't complete. Otherwise, he would have been able to sketch out his features with his current drawing skills. But Meng Fan was certain: As long as this person appeared in front of him, he would know who it was.

He had some memory of another person as well.

Meng Fan planned to use the live stream assistant as a monitor. It would be ideal if he could lock on the target through the assistant.

He didn't want to be idle as he awaited his fate!

Meng Fan felt that calling the police was too unrealistic, since he had no evidence. What if he startled the hijackers and they changed the flight they were about to rob? Then why did he come here if not to confront these hijackers directly!

He was slightly regretful for not exchanging a few more live stream assistants. After the [Famous Streamer] task was complete, he was no longer able to exchange equipment relating to it.

Crack!๐’๐žธ๐”ณ๐“”๐“๐—‡๐šŽxt.๐•”๐“ž๐“œ

As he was deep in thought, a lightning bolt broke through the clouds, and it began to pour.

Meng Fan hurriedly closed the car window.

"Singapore is currently in its rainy season right now, so there are often thunderstorms in the afternoons." Lin Xiaoxiao said.

Chapter 284: One After the Other

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

The Changi Airport is in eastern Singapore, while the National University of Singapore is in the southwestern region. Singapore is not a big country, so they arrived at their destination quickly.

The sights were amazing on the way; so was the high level of sanitation. This was a country where littering, smoking in public, and not cleaning in public would be punished with fines or even prosecution. Offenses such as graffiti would even lead to caning.

"Caitang could be a while. Let's head to the hotel and wait for her at the restaurant."

When they got to the university, the thunderstorm had stopped. The air felt moist and fresh. Lin Xiaoxiao took Meng Fan to the hotel for check-in, then they went toward a nearby restaurant.

Everything which happened as of now was exactly the same as before his reincarnation. Even a pedestrian who almost collided with Lin Xiaoxiao while passing a corner was the same. It was as if they were back on the same trajectory of life. When they got to the restaurant, an Indian beauty with sculpted cheekbones and exotic looks approached Meng Fan, which reminded him he was reborn.

"You're really popular. Even Aishwarya wanted to talk to you." Lin Xiaoxiao commented after the Indian beauty left in disappointment. "She also goes to my school. She's the most beautiful girl on campus. You are not tempted? You're abroadโ€ฆ It'd be nice to have a romance on the trip."

Meng Fan smiled. "I already have a girlfriend."

Lin Xiaoxiao did a thumbs-up. "It's not a surprise you have a girlfriend. But you're a good man for always mentioning her."

Meng Fan shook his hand. "Your standard for a good man is too low."

Lin Xiaoxiao said seriously, "This is not a low standard, especially for someone like you, who can afford to be unfaithful. It's the same for girls, too." She then asked curiously, "Is your girlfriend your classmate? Supposedly girls from art schools are all pretty. She must be prettier than that Indian beauty."

Meng Fan couldn't help smiling. "My girlfriend definitely is."

"Girlfriend? Whose girlfriend? You have a girlfriend?"

Meng Caitang arrived as they were chatting. She ran in front of Meng Fan and stared at him. She pinched his face and was upset she didn't see a double chin. "Older brother, you're so thin now! You're even thinner than the photos and videos! What happened to all the meat we helped you grow?"

Meng Fan hugged Meng Caitang's neck with his arm in a familiar and indulgent way. He said with a smile, "What? It's not good that I lost weight?"

"Hey, let me go. I'm a goddess around here. You'll ruin my image." Meng Caitang stared at Meng Fan but didn't struggle, seemingly enjoying their affectionate teasing. The two of them were close in age and grew up together.

"Please, we have plenty of goddesses in our family, but only one psycho." Meng Fan let her go and looked at her closely. "You know, you're becoming like a goddess these days."

"Don't change the subject. Tell me, who's your girlfriend? Is she that classical art beauty? Wu Tong?"

Meng Fan nodded shyly.

His embarrassment seemed like bragging to Meng Caitang. She pursed her lips. "So what? Wu Tong does look pretty. But you said yourself goddesses are plentiful in our family; don't just look for a pretty face."

Meng Fan glared at Meng Caitang. "If she's a pretty face, she's at the collectible level. She's pretty and has depth, too!"

"Fine, you can treasure her all you want. Xiaoxiao, don't worry, we always tease each other like this."

Meng Caitang stuck out her tongue. She asked Lin Xiaoxiao what she wanted to order and added two more dishes.

After dinner, Lin Xiaoxiao left, then the siblings toured the national university.

The national university ranked number one for universities in Asia in both academic achievement and faculty strength. The campus was also amazing. The city's environment was already impeccable, so the campus was even more perfect.

Just like before he was reincarnated, Meng Caitang held onto his arm during their campus tour so that she could make those guys pursuing her back off. It's just that now the arm looked different, and the owner of the arm has transformed too, making the display more convincing.

While Meng Caitang was considered "ordinary" among the seven daughters of the Meng family, she was seen as stunning outside the family. After she blossomed in the last few years, she was a standout on campus. Even in entertainment, where beautiful girls were everywhere, she would also be exceptional. In addition, she was crowned as the school's "Study Deity," which garnered her even more followers.

After this walk, Meng Fan heard the sounds of many hearts breaking; they sounded like a symphony.

Before his reincarnation, Meng Fan's presence next to her was met with gazes of suspicion, anger, and even provocation. This time, the anger remained, but suspicion and provocation disappeared. After all, he now looked impressive with his size and all the fighting experience, especially with Wu Ji.

After their campus tour, it was getting late. Meng Caitang thought Meng Fan would be tired after the flight, so she took him to the hotel so he could rest. She promised to take him out the next day.

Soon after returning to the hotel, Meng Fan left again, grabbing a taxi to Changi Airport.๐’๐žธ๐”ณ๐“”๐“๐—‡๐šŽxt.๐•”๐“ž๐“œ

He had nothing to do for the night, and he couldn't just sit around. After he considered, he thought it was best that he check out the airport. If he didn't learn anything, at least he'd be familiar with the site.

At the airport, Meng Fan put on the hat which would make him less visible. While he wore the hat, he didn't want to act too weird, in case surveillance would notice him and bring trouble.

He found a place to rest and took out his phone. He brought up the live stream assistant device page and did a quick replay. Meng Fan noticed that his 4 Observation skill was useful while watching even at x16 playback speed.

He didn't learn anything useful from the footage, so he started walking around. He didn't find anything interesting, but he did gain 1 in Night Travel experience, since this airport was considered a scenic spot.

After midnight, Meng Fan pretended to look disappointed, as if he was upset that he didn't see the person he was picking up. He acted like he was calling someone. If anyone noticed him and reviewed surveillance, he wouldn't seem too weird.

Maybe Meng Fan was unlucky; the minute he left the airport, a group of laughing people arrived at the spot he just vacated. One of the people was the hijacker Meng Fan vaguely remembered.

If Meng Fan had stayed, maybe he could have recognized him; or maybe not.

Of course, anyone in this area would be captured by the streaming device he left at the airport.

Chapter 285: The Honey Trap

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Hah, I've finally done it.

When he gets done with volume 6, he would have completed the [Professional Manga Artist] task of completing ten comic books. He had completed the sales goal already; he'd finally have the title.

"Let's get this over with!"

Meng Fan felt anxious. His dream is to work on manga and voiceovers.

His voiceover work is already on track. Even without "Voice Legend" playing on TV, with so many professionals having seen his work, if he wanted to work, he'd have more than enough jobs. He could even pick the work he liked.

For manga, as long as he got the [Professional Manga Artist] title and earned the 5 points in Drawing Skill, Settings, and Screenwriting, plus the original content ideas cooked inside his head, he could start his own original series at any time!

It was late when he returned to the hotel. He took a shower and lay in bed. Suddenly, there was commotion by the door, which surprised Meng Fan. He looked through the peephole and saw a drunken woman leaning against the door. She was rifling through her purse, probably looking for her entry card.

Meng Fan guessed she must be a drunk who got the wrong room. He was going to ignore it, but he didn't like the noise. He gently opened the door, wanting to tell the woman she had the wrong place. The minute he opened the door, however, the woman fell down onto the floor, wedging her body along the door crack.

"How drunk is she?"

Meng Fan was speechless. When he took a closer look, he blushed. She was dressed provocatively. The low-cut top she was wearing showed off a lot of skin.

Meng Fan lightly patted her. "Hey, wake up. You've got the wrong room."

"The wrong room? Which room did you want?"

The woman knew Chinese, but her words were like sleep mumblings, which sounded just as hot as her body and clothing.

"What theโ€ฆ"

Meng Fan went to help her up, planning to get a hotel employee. As soon as he touched her, however, the woman wrapped herself around him and said, "Why did you stop? Don't stop!"

Meng Fan's face reddened. What is going on here?

Then, the woman began to try to kiss Meng Fan.

Meng Fan panicked and pushed her away, but he was afraid she was going to fall again. He thought about it and lifted her up. This way, she couldn't try anything.

The woman was shocked when she saw herself being lifted off the floor.

"What theโ€ฆ?"

Meng Fan was very observant. He could tell something was off. He put her down on the carpeted floor and stood away from her. "You're not drunk! What are you doing? Some kind of scam?"

The woman looked startled. She kept her scattered expression, looking seemingly shy and pathetic, and even kind of excited as she found Meng Fan to be so strong. She twisted her body into a tempting pose on the floor, making her clothes slide off even more, showing the right amount of flirtatiousness. She continued in a coquettish tone, "Sorry, I drank too much. I must have gone to the wrong room. It's not what you think."

Meng Fan tried to keep his gaze level. "It's okay. Go home. If you can't, I'll get a hotel employee for you."

The woman looked even more coy and pathetic as she heard this, she mumbled. "I just drank too much. Would you want me to go back by myself? I'd be cold sleeping on my own."

With words like these, Meng Fan smiled. "Don't worry about it."

Then, he acted like he was calling the hotel.

The woman instantly jumped up from the floor and rolled her eyes at Meng Fan. "You silly man, did you really think I was running a scam?"

She then walked toward the door but not without turning around to say, "It's not what you think. I just thought you were so attractive. Ifโ€ฆ I'm in room nine on this floor. Come find me anytime."

With Meng Fan still having no reaction, she stomped her foot and sashayed out of the door, shaking her squat-toned, peach-shaped butt.

"This is much more tempting than those women who put business cards in some hotels back home!"

Meng Fan hurried to close his door. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't tempted at all. He refused instantly not so much to stay faithful to Wu Tong, but rather, this woman's drunken aggression was just too much. Also, what if it really was a scam?

Okay, Meng Fan really was nervous.

After this debacle, Meng Fan felt flustered as he lay on a hotel bed in another country. His mind was all over the place. Eventually, he fell asleep.

The next morning, Meng Fan dressed for a run and left his room. He asked the front desk for the best jogging location and was told about a park nearby.

The park was quite big and had a lot of joggers. Here, unlike China, many of the people doing morning workouts were young and not middle-aged or older.

Meng Fan had a professional posture: tall and strong. He looked great in his workout clothes. He also ran fast, attracting many admiring gazes along the way.

After a full loop, he passed a woman who looked familiar as he prepared to run back. He thought about it as he changed direction to chase her. After another look as he caught up to her, he could confirm this was a flight attendant on that hijacked flight before his reincarnation!

Meng Fan didn't think he'd meet the flight attendant on that flight here!

This flight attendant was not a hijacker.

The reason he remembered her was simple: She resembled Yua Mikami, an adult film actress. Not only did she look like that celebrity, she sounded like her, too.

Of course, since she looked like that star, she was pretty as well. Pretty people were usually more memorable.

Meng Fan was confused. This flight attendant was Japanese. The flight he took was a Japanese flight, with most of the crew being Japanese. Why was she here? Why was she jogging?

Then, his mind worked quickly. He suddenly realized this meeting with the flight attendant wasn't the right time.

Meanwhile, the flight attendant noticed someone next to her staring at her. She looked over, and her eyes instantly glowed. She took off her earphones and smiled, revealing her teeth. "Hi, can I help you?"๐‘›๐‘‚๐‘ฝ๐‘’๐‘™๐“ƒ๐‘’xt.๐” ๐š˜๐“‚

She used English. Her words sounded a little professional.

"Hello! (in Chinese)"

"Hello! (in Japanese)"

"Hello! (in Korean)"

She used three other languages. She was probably worried Meng Fan didn't understand. Obviously, she was more patient with an attractive man.

Meng Fan stopped agonizing as she kept asking him. If they met here, this was meant to be. It's definitely a change in fate, and maybe he'll learn something useful.

He pretended to be serious and a little confused as he asked in Chinese, "Hello, have we met before?"

Okay, this was obviously one of the most cliche pick-up lines, but Meng Fan couldn't think of anything else. However, Meng Fan's old-fashioned pick-up method, combined with his attractive smile, was actually very effective.

The flight attendant blushed and answered, "Maybe it's because I look like an adultโ€ฆ"

She spoke accented Chinese and was apparently aware of Chinese culture. She wanted to say adult actress, which also meant actress in Japan, but she knew in China that the same word implied a certain type of acting. Because of who Meng Fan was, she was willing to try harder, even if he only approached her because of who she resembled. She changed the word to, "โ€ฆlike an actress."

Meng Fan didn't think of this angle when he tried to talk to her. He was a little embarrassed, but he recovered by saying, "No, no. I just thought we'd met before."

The flight attendant liked his answer, regardless of whether it was true or not. Maybe because running made one's heart beat faster, she became more open and cutely winked at Meng Fan, "Maybe in your dreams."

Meng Fan knew she was coming onto him. But this time, he didn't want to refuse; he actually thought it might be a good investigation method. He felt a little crazy at the idea that he could use himself as bait!

The flight attendant continued, "Regardless of whether we've met before, I'm so happy to see you today." She continued to jog as she reached out her hand, "Hello, my name is Minako Sakurai."

Meng Fan reached out his hand, too. "Hello, my name is Meng Fan."

Reluctantly, Minako Sakurai let go of his hand. She continued to jog since Meng Fan kept going as well but not very quickly. It was obvious she ran regularly as she didn't breathe very hard. She chatted excitedly, "Is Mr. Meng a Singaporean-Chinese or Chinese?"

Her breathing, while not heavy, still sounded like the adult actress' moans, which were too much. He tried to talk more to cover up his reaction, "I'm Chinese and here on vacation. How about you? Can I call you Minako?"

"Of course!"

Minako Sakurai looked happy. "I'm a flight attendant. I mostly fly between Singapore City and Kyoto. I had two days off, so I stayed here."

"Really? What a coincidence. I was planning to visit Japan, too. Maybe I'll see you on a flight sometime."

"Wow, if you do come to Japan, I'd love to be your tour guide. I hope I'll have the pleasure."

The two of them chatted about nothing in particular. Meng Fan didn't dare mention how he was going to be on her flight to Japan. The two of them seemed to be happy chatting; at least, Minako Sakurai was.

As they chatted and jogged, they ended up having breakfast near the park. Exchanging contact information seemed natural at that point, too.

When Meng Fan returned to the hotel, he rushed to take a shower. He used a little warm water to relax his muscles first before turning the water cold.

Last night, there was that woman who tried to seduce him. This morning, he ran into a flight attendant who looked and moaned like his favorite adult actress. She sounded so gentle and was so adorable, and she kept giving him signals. Altogether, this was too tempting!

After being blasted by cold water, he finally calmed down.

Whew!

Meng Fan was flustered that he ran into this flight attendant.

What was the point?

He was using himself as a honey trap. Would he have a breakthrough with this?

As he thought, a call came in from Meng Caitang. She asked him to go out for breakfast and then a tour.

Meng Fan didn't tell her he'd already gotten up much earlier. He went down for another breakfast.

"Why are you eating so little? Older brother, dieting is not fasting!" Meng Caitang thought his diet was not healthy.

How could Meng Fan explain that he already had breakfast and would be stuffed if he ate more?

Just like before his reincarnation, they visited the Botanic Gardens and National Museum in the morning. Lunch was Tian Tian's Hainanese Chicken Rice. In the afternoon, they planned to go to Universal Studios in the most southern part of Singapore City.

Meng Fan really wanted to convince Meng Caitang not to go, since before his reincarnation, they didn't tour Universal for long before her advisor called her back for something work-related.

But he decided against it. If Meng Caitang did leave, he'd stay like before. He'd have an opportunity to move on his own then.

It did turn out as he expected. Soon after they started their visit, Meng Caitang was called away.

Unlike before, after Meng Caitang took off, Minako Sakurai called him. Interestingly enough, she also wanted to meet him at Universal Studios.

Chapter 286: A Major Discovery

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Minako Sakurai has worked as a flight attendant on this international route for two years. Men were always trying to pick her up. After every flight, she'd get some phone numbers and business cards, often from young, good looking, and successful men. Of course, among them, there were always a few men who were older but didn't want to admit it.

There's quite a few excellent men, and sometimes, one of them would tempt her, but no one has been as memorable as Meng Fan.

Is Meng Fan attractive?

Of course, he is. To Minako Sakurai, or maybe to many people, Meng Fan is very attractive, and his appeal is very unique.

Meng Fan's smile was the most wonderful smile to Minako Sakurai. His voice was also lethally attractive to her.

After Minako Sakurai returned, she thought that it must be wonderful to fall asleep with the sound of his voice.

Coincidentally, Meng Fan was the kind of tall and buff guy she's always liked.

Even though Meng Fan may have tried to talk to her because of her resemblance to Yua Mikami, she didn't think it was creepy. She was a little shy about it, and thought it was scintillating.

After they parted ways, Minako Sakurai could think of nothing but Meng Fan's smile and voice, both of which seemed addictive.

Though she had his number, she hesitated to call. She wanted to be reserved. Since he asked for her number, he would call her, right?

She waited and waited.

He must be busy!

She waited some more.

Minako Sakurai tried to convince herself, but a voice told her that if he was just visiting Singapore, he might leave today or tomorrow. Her vacation was ending soon, too. If she missed him, she'd never see him again.

Minako Sakurai wasn't dreaming of some happily ever after, but she really wanted this wonderful encounter to last longer.

Around noon, Meng Fan still hadn't called. Before she was about to call him, her colleague knocked on her door to say a group of them were going to Universal Studios. Minako Sakurai became excited; this was a perfect opportunity. She instantly called Meng Fan. To her happy surprise, Meng Fan was already there, and he would wait for her there.

Overjoyed, Minako Sakurai didn't think about why Meng Fan would rather tour Universal Studios himself without asking her.

Minako Sakurai went with four other people: three were her colleagues from the same flight, with one couple about to be married, and one colleague who brought along his girlfriend. This was ideal. She was the only single person in the group, and with Meng Fan joining, it'd be perfect!

โ€ฆ

When Meng Fan got Minako Sakurai's call to join them at Universal Studios, he was pretty surprised. He had plans to ask Minako Sakurai out. He just wasn't sure he could find out the information he needed, but he was hoping for some results. He agreed to go out with her and said he was already at Universal.

He was bored while waiting for her. After taking out his phone, he chatted with Wu Tong. He did feel a little guilty as he was using himself as bait.

After chatting, he went to check the photos using his live stream assistant. He browsed the photos, then went back to the beginning of the timeline, which was when he left last night. Soon, he saw a group of what looked like the flight crew. In the back of the group were the flight attendants, one of whom was Minako Sakurai.

"Flight crew?"

Meng Fan wasn't sure if this flight crew worked the day of the plane hijacking. After a closer look, he could recognize a few faces. He thought at least a few of them were from the same crew.

He scanned the front of the group. His brows furrowed. After checking a few times, he slowed down and zoomed in. His eyes lit up.

One of the people in the crew looked very familiar. The more he looked at the man's face, the more Meng Fan thought it was one of the hijackers.

"It must be him!"

"One of the hijackers was from the flight crew!"

The discovery made Meng Fan overjoyed but also very creeped out.

Then, Meng Fan searched and looked through photos of all crew members on this Japanese airline. After comparing the names and photos, he found the man's name: Showta Takashimaya!

He checked the rest of the crew to make sure there were no other hijackers among them. To be accurate, the other hijacker he remembered was not a crew member, and he wasn't certain if there were hijackers he didn't remember!

Maybe there weren't other hijackers.

Just having one is terrifying!

Afterwards, Meng Fan searched for more information about Showta Takashimaya. There wasn't much, and most of the information wasn't about this particular Showta Takashimaya.

The limited information didn't offer much that was useful.

Showta Takashimaya had elderly parents and a younger brother. He had a girlfriend who was also in the flight crew. They were getting married soon.

The man shouldn't be so fatalistic based on his background.

Of course, useful information was often hard to find online.๐‘›๐‘‚๐‘ฝ๐‘’๐‘™๐“ƒ๐‘’xt.๐” ๐š˜๐“‚

At least he found one hijacker, which was a fantastic breakthrough.

Now that he thought about it, approaching Minako Sakurai was a good idea. He now had a way to find more about Showta Takashimaya. He wasn't sure how to learn more and whether to use Minako Sakurai. This wasn't something he should rush. He needed to tread carefully here.

Yet, this matter that Meng Fan couldn't rush was happening now!

Showta Takashimaya was in Minako Sakurai's group at Universal.

"My friend, Meng Fan!"

When Minako Sakurai saw Meng Fan, she hurried and then forced herself to slow down to not seem too eager. When she reached him, her eyes lingered on him for a second before she turned around to introduce him to her group of colleagues.

"This is my friend, Meng Fan." Minako Sakurai first used Japanese to introduce Meng Fan, then introduced her friends to him. "Meng Fan, this is Mr. Ohno and his girlfriend."

"Hello, hello."

"Nice to meet you.

"Meng Fan, this is Mr. Takashimaya. This is Shino, his fiance."

Meng Fan made himself act as normal as possible when shaking Showta Tashimaya's hand. He then nodded at the fiancรฉe, Shino Shibuya.

Showta Tashimaya kept a sincere smile on his face. "Pleased to meet you."

Shino Shibuya first bowed, then her eyes glowed. Using a soft and flirty tone, she replied in Chinese, "Mr. Meng Fan, you really are very handsome!"

Anger flared in Showta Tashimaya's eyes, but the rage wasn't directed at Meng Fan; rather, it was for his fiancรฉe.

Chapter 287: Surveillance

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Universal Studios Singapore is located inside Resorts World Sentosa, which has seven theme parks and twenty-four attractions. For anyone visiting Singapore, Universal Studios is definitely a top choice.

After Meng Fan met everyone, the group walked into Sci-Fi City, which was the area closest to them.

None of the six people was new to Universal Studios, so they didn't rush to do a certain ride. Instead, they walked and talked, enjoying the atmosphere. They were relaxed as they ate, drank, chatted, and saw the sights.

Meng Fan was very observant, and he was paying attention, so he noticed some interesting things.

His main subject of observation was Showta Takashimaya. It seemed that the man could only be described as straightforward. He was very humble to everyone and willing to help. No matter who needed to buy or see something, he'd help do the errand or get in-line for them. He was also very attentive to Shino Shibuya. In Meng Fan's limited experience, Japanese men who were so caring toward women were rare.

Meanwhile, Shino Shibuya, Showta Takashimaya's fiancรฉe, wasโ€ฆ slutty. Meng Fan had to say she was quite unfaithful. During their outing, she kept coming onto Meng Fan. Though Minako Sakurai, who had a crush on Meng Fan, was right there, and her own fiancรฉ was right there too, Shino Shibuya still kept flirting with Meng Fan.

What surprised Meng Fan was how Showta Takashimaya didn't seem to mind. If anything, he looked at Meng Fan apologetically. Instead, the other Japanese man on the trip, Hideo Ohno, not only seemed arrogant; he also acted antagonistic toward Meng Fan.

Meng Fan noticed that Hideo Ohno's girlfriend, a white girl named Elisa, checked him out at first, then only paid attention to Hideo Ohno. Among everyone in the group, Elisa was the most excited and lively. It was obvious that they were a new couple, and Elisa really liked Hideo Ohno.

Hideo Ohno shouldn't be angry toward him for that, right?

Was he angry because of Minako Sakurai?

It didn't seem like it.

Meng Fan could tell that while Hideo Ohno did seem to desire Minako Sakurai, it wasn't a possessive desire, nor did it match the level of animosity projected toward him. The animosity held a level of anger, wariness, and rejection from being invaded.

He was angry because of Shino Shibuya!

Meng Fan soon realized the reason for Hideo Ohno's animosity.๐‘›๐‘‚๐‘ฝ๐‘’๐‘™๐“ƒ๐‘’xt.๐” ๐š˜๐“‚

Then, he realized Shino Shibuya also looked at Hideo Ohno differently. In her gaze, there was provocation, temptation, and also a thrill.

Were they having an affair?

This finding was interesting and quite valuable.

"Transformers accessories!"

Showta Takashimaya wasn't interested in much, however, he loved Transformers. When he got to the Transformers area, he became visibly excited and walked into the attraction.

Hideo Ohno didn't look like he was interested. "I'll wait for you guys by the coffee house over there. I'm tired from walking."

Shino Shibuya smiled. "I'm tired, too."

Meng Fan and Minako Sakurai had already followed Showta Takashimaya into the Transformers area. Elisa considered and told Hideo Ohno, "I want to go see the Transformers, too."

Hideo Ohno nodded. "Okay. Go, I'll get you something to drink."

"You're awesome."

Elisa walked in happily.

Meanwhile, Hideo Ohno and Shino Shibuya walked as if in sync. They didn't get away from the group for too far before Hideo's hand was on Shino's waist and sliding downwards. Shino laughed coyly as she slapped his hand, but when his hand went back to her waist and slid even lower, she let him touch her, moving her body even more.

The attraction had all of the latest Transformers and collectibles, it was like a heaven for fans of Transformers.

Meng Fan was a fan of assembly kits. In American comics, the hottest assembly kit collectibles are Iron Man and Transformers. After Meng Fan looked around, he saw many products which were different from what he had at home, so he was tempted.

"Do you like Transformers, too?"

Soon, Showta Takashimaya noticed what Meng Fan was buying and asked with curiosity.

His Chinese wasn't fluent, so he used a lot of Japanese and English words instead. Luckily, Meng Fan knew the two other languages a little bit and they were able to communicate.

With this brief and somewhat inconvenient exchange, Showta Takashimaya realized Meng Fan was a fan of Transformers, so he appeared to be much more excited to talk to Meng Fan.

"Mr. Takashimaya, pardon my rudeness." Meng Fan acted as if he had just realized something as he pointed at the man's watch. "Is this a limited edition Weizhentian mechanical watch from 5102? Weizhentian is Megatron. In Japanese, it isโ€ฆ"

Showta Takashimaya looked very happy to be recognized. He nodded proudly. "This took me a lot of work to get."

"Wow, I was so sad when I didn't get this watch. There were so few available!" Meng Fan actually had the watch, he just never wore the collectible. With a face full of envy, he asked, "Can I see it?"

Showta Takashimaya happily took off the watch to show Meng Fan, who carefully looked it over before reluctantly giving it back. He said, "You're so lucky. If I didn't know you loved it so much, I'd have wanted to buy it from you at twice the price."

Showta Takashimaya shook his head. "You have no idea. This watch is already four times the price now. Even if you paid me ten times the original price, I wouldn't sell it to you."

Meng Fan smiled, shaking his head and showing regret.

After their tour, Showta Takashimaya bought some collectibles. So did Meng Fan. The products would be packaged by store employees and sent back home for them.

When they came out of the store, Showta Takashimaya and Elisa wanted to look for the other people. Minako Sakurai wanted to see the Minions in another attraction and use the chance to get closer to Meng Fan. Meng Fan had no objections.

After they walked a bit, Meng Fan used the virtual projector screen to open the black technology microphone he added to Showta Takashimaya's watch. After he linked it to his black technology earbuds, he could clearly hear conversations on Showta Takashimaya's side. He then happily went with Minako Sakurai to look for Minions.

The reason he chose the watch was because a watch is worn on the body. The object was obviously his favorite, so he would wear it all the time. It was perfect for carrying a surveillance device, since even a cell phone wasn't always carried on the body.

He did want to observe Showta Takashimaya, but rushing would not be useful here. Looking too eager would be bad for his purpose. As long as he could eavesdrop constantly, he has reached his goal.

"He's not here?!"

When Elisa didn't find Hideo Ohno at the coffee shop, she was very unhappy. She pursed her lips.

A flicker of hatred flashed across Showta Takashimaya's eyes. His face remained passive. When he saw their calls went nowhere, he told Elisa, "Maybe it's a signal problem. Don't worry, wait here and I'll get you some coffee."

After he ordered coffee, he returned to talk to Elisa. "How about this? I'll go look for them. I'll be back in ten minutes no matter what."

Elisa was grateful. "Thank you."

Showta Takashimaya finally had time to move alone. He sped up and walked toward an attraction called "Ancient Egypt." Soon, he found what he was looking for and walked into a "shrine."

He saw a string of numbers which only he understood. His chest started heaving.

"This is the time?"

Showta Takashimaya learned it was going to be the flight on the evening of the 13th. He was the mechanic for this flight. He also knew Hideo Ohno was supposed to be the assistant pilot on this flight, with Shino Shibuya as a flight attendant.

"Perfect! Now I can send this damn couple to hell!"

Chapter 288: Pathetic and Detestable

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Showta Takashimaya spoke so low that he was only mumbling to himself. There was no one else around, and even if there was, no one could have heard. Meng Fan, however, did hear him all the way from the The Lost World attraction.

Showta Takashimaya spoke in Japanese, which was a language that Meng Fan โ€” while passable as an animation voiceover artist โ€” could hardly communicate in. He wouldnt be able to understand the words completely. Luckily, black technology could easily translate the words.

Time?

Meng Fan guessed that Showta Takashimaya probably received the time for the hijacking, which was confirmed with the words which followed.

By the way?

It seemed as if Showta Takashimaya didnt join the hijacking plan because his fiance cheated on him; he was already part of the plan. Perhaps the thought that the cheating couple would also be on the flight made it seem even more appealing.

Of course, it was possible that his fiancรฉe Shino Shibuya had constantly cheated on him, triggering his antisocial personality to join the hijacking in the first place.

Was the hijacking because he was being cuckolded? It was hard to say.

Even if it was, it was not worth peoples empathy.๐‘›๐‘‚๐‘ฝ๐‘’๐‘™๐“ƒ๐‘’xt.๐” ๐š˜๐“‚

Even though Meng Fan had a good time hanging out with Showta Takashimaya, Meng Fan didnt change his opinions nor his decision about the man. The hijacker needed to die, or at least get his just punishment.

If you were angry that you were cuckolded, then you can end the cheating couple. Why bring other people into it?

Now, Meng Fan was expecting more communication between Showta Takashimaya and his partners.

Meng Fan, over there!

Minako Sakurai, who changed her mind about seeing the Minions, happily went into the "Waterworld" area, inside "The Lost World" attraction with Meng Fan.

This area was inspired by the classic movie, "Waterworld." It features spectacular water performances. With 3,500 seats in the audience area, it is the largest performance area at Universal Studios in Singapore.

When the two of them arrived, they were just in time for a show. But their seats werent great as they had to sit in the second row.

With their up-close location, they could see all the special effects using flames and shooting water. It was very exciting but also dangerous, as they could get drenched easily.

Right after the introductory speech to the show, Meng Fans back was already drenched.

Why his back?

Meng Fan couldnt let Minako Sakurai get drenched, so he covered her every time water splashed their way, and he didnt want to block the water with his front.

After a few times, Meng Fan could tell Minako Sakurais eyes glowed every time he protected her. He thought, maybe facing the water head-on wasnt a hard thing.

While he wanted to use himself as bait for Minako Sakurai, he didnt want to sacrifice too much. However, she didnt feel the same way.

Meng Fan, your wet clothesโ€ฆ youll catch a cold. Minako Sakurai was grateful for Meng Fans chivalry and liked him even more now. After they left the show, she pointed at a store ahead of them. They sell clothes there, get something so you can change.

Singapore had mild weather, but it was really uncomfortable wearing wet clothes on his back. Black technology couldnt make his clothes dry faster either, so Meng Fan agreed.

Which he quickly regretted.

Minako Sakurai wasnt buying one shirt for Meng Fan to change into; she was shopping for him. She managed to turn the small shop into a shopping spree.

Meng Fan, this would look good on you.

This is perfect for you to wear.

How about this oneโ€ฆ

Apparently, Minako Sakurai had envisioned herself as Meng Fans girlfriend and was playing the role happily. She also expected Meng Fan to try the clothes on.

At first Meng Fan played along and changed into a few outfits. Then he couldnt take it anymore and just bought one top, which was applauded by Minako Sakurai as very masculine.

Of course, Minako Sakurai insisted on paying, saying she needed to do it. It wasnt so much about the money; she probably just wanted to buy Meng Fan something.

Minako Sakurai was too nice to Meng Fan, combined with her tender voice, she sounded more and more like Yua Mikami than ever, making him suffer.

He better go back and stop spending so much time with her. He wasnt afraid of losing control with her, he was worried that shed be too mesmerized by him.

Lets go meet up with your colleagues. Then he added, I wonder if Mr. Takashimaya found Mr. Ohno and others.

Minako Sakurais eyes flickered with something unusual as she heard his comment. After some hesitation, she blurted out, Maybe Showta didnt find Hideo and Shino.

Meng Fan acted curious as he asked, Actually, I wanted to know, what exactly is the relationship between Hideo Ohno and Shino Shibuya? It felt as ifโ€ฆ Okay, Im just curious, you dont have to answer me.

Minako Sakurai wanted to tell him anyway, so she continued to talk. Girls were usually more aware of this kind of thing. With Shino Shibuya openly flirting with Meng Fan, she had to admit Shino Shibuya would be pretty tempting to men. While she believed Meng Fan was a good guy, she was afraid of an ambush by Shino Shibuya.

Shino Shibuya and Hideo Ohno had aโ€ฆ different relationship. You probably noticed, too. Minako Sakurai wanted to say more without revealing everything. Then she started again, Showta is a pathetic man. The whole crew knows about the affair between Shino and Hideo, only he thinks no one else knows. Of course, Showta is detestable too, he has hit Shino before. They broke up and then made up after Showta begged Shino. But then Shino became more flirtyโ€ฆ maybe as revenge. Shino and Hideo didnt get together until laterโ€ฆ Maybe, after Showta and Shino get married, itll be better.

Meng Fan started to imagine all kinds of headlines such as How a Cuckolded Man Became Violent and Ive Never Regretted Cheating on Him and had to stop. Being imaginative wasnt always a good thing.

Now, he had learned one of the reasons for Showta Takashimaya being anti-social.

Seeing Meng Fans odd expression, Minako Sakurai stopped herself from saying more. She believed that a noble guy like Meng Fan wouldnt be tempted by Shino Shibuya now.

Minako Sakurai called her colleagues and they all met up in the Hollywood district. When they arrived, the other four people were already there.

Elisa was excited as she made Hideo Ohno take photos, while Showta Takashimaya and Shino Shibuya looked normal.

Chapter 289: The Worst Timing

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

They kept hanging out as before. If there was any change, it was probably Minako Sakurai; she became even more attached to Meng Fan. She started to resemble Elisa, who was clinging to Hideo Ohno.

Meng Fan couldn't react; he couldn't seem too stiff in front of the other four, especially Showta Takashimaya. He'd already agreed to hang out with her. If he acted too aloof, it would seem odd. He had to appear a little interested in Minako Sakurai.

He'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy having a pretty girl hanging off of him; but to avoid further misunderstanding, Meng Fan had to make himself less attractive. When there were attractions featuring recreations of classic lines from movies, Meng Fan would have loved to show off if Wu Tong was here.

When it came to bodily contact, Meng Fan had to act even more careful.

However, everything he did just made Minako Sakurai think he was more of a gentleman than ever.

Soon, it was evening. Universal Studios was amazing at night. Their group, however, each had their own ideas, so no one wanted to keep hanging out.

At this time, Meng Caitang also called. When Meng Fan wanted to go back, Minako Sakurai also wanted to leave. The group naturally dispersed.

Minako Sakurai and her four colleagues stayed at a hotel, which was not far from Meng Fan's hotel. She and Meng Fan rode the same car, while the four others rode in another car.

Showta Takashimaya rode in the front passenger seat, and three people rode in the back, with Hideo Ohno in the middle. Showta Takashimaya would constantly check the rearview mirror to see if the cheating couple did anything, but he only saw Shino Shibuya's flushed face and Hideo Ohno's deep breathing.

Elisa, however, had fallen asleep on Hideo Ohno's shoulder.

โ€ฆIn the other car, Minako Sakurai had also fallen asleep on Meng Fan's shoulder. At first, her eyelashes would flutter, then, she truly fell asleep.

Maybe she felt really safe near Meng Fan. She kept changing her posture during the ride โ€” from leaning on Meng Fan's shoulder to eventually laying halfway across his lap. She eventually found a comfortable pose and would rub on him like a kitten.

Whew!๐‘›๐‘‚๐‘ฝ๐‘’๐‘™๐“ƒ๐‘’xt.๐” ๐š˜๐“‚

Minako Sakurai was sleeping soundly, but Meng Fan felt as if he was sitting on pins and needles. Her last posture really stimulated him. She sounded and looked like Yua Mikami, but her body was very different!

Before they had arrived, the car in front of them had an accident, so their driver braked suddenly. While it was not a strong braking, Minako Sakurai still slid all the way into Meng Fan's lap. Meng Fan had no choice but to hold her so she wouldn't fall.

Minako Sakurai woke up with a start in Meng Fan's embrace. When she realized her position, she looked really happy and said shyly, "Sorry, I fell asleep."

Then, she blushed; so did Meng Fan.

Minako Sakurai reluctantly left Meng Fan's lap, straightening herself. The car kept going to the hotel.

"Meng Fan, are you alright?"

Minako Sakurai couldn't help looking downward, her face flushed. She lowered her voice and whispered next to his ear, "I can go to your place."

"What?"

Meng Fan's whole body was full of excitement.

Ooh.

Meng Caitang called again. "Where are you now? You are still not back?"

"Almost there."

Meng Fan hung up and smiled apologetically, "My sister is waiting for me."

Minako Sakurai's face burned. She looked resigned. "You're okay?"

Meng Fan couldn't say anything. It's not like he was poisoned. He smiled and shook his head, telling the driver to pull up ahead.

Minako Sakurai said, "Can I call you later?"

Meng Fan got out of the car right away.

"Who knew Meng Fan would be shy?"

Minako Sakurai's face burned even more.

โ€ฆ

"You've been out a long time. Did you hook up with anyone?"

Meng Caitang was going to say it was impossible, but seeing how Meng Fan looked now, she had to sigh. "You must have had a lot of people coming up to you. The Meng family's legendary genes cannot be ignored."

Meng Fan rolled his eyes. "Let's get some food, I'm starving."

Meng Caitang took Meng Fan to the National University's cafeteria, so anyone interested in her would know she was not single.

While at dinner, Meng Caitang opened up a group video chat. The seven sisters chatted non-stop, while Meng Fan ate non-stop.

After they ate, Meng Caitang took Meng Fan on a walk, then she brought him to a nightclub. This was an activity he didn't have before the reincarnation. The night before he was reborn, Meng Caitang took Meng Fan to visit a relative and even to an arranged date. The date was a relative of the relative, and neither person was into the other.

But this time, Meng Fan already had a girlfriend, so arranged dates are out.

At the nightclub, which was technically Meng Fan's first time in such a kind of place, he learned a lot and also lost a lot. Although, with Meng Caitang around, there weren't too many women who came up to approach him.

He finally had a chance to experience a typical night-out for young people. It was pretty exciting for him.

Of course, none of this compared to the excitement he heard in the surveillance microphone.

Around ten in the evening, after Meng Fan left the night club and took Meng Caitang home, he could hear the argument between Showta Takashimaya and Shino Shibuya on the microphone on the way back to his hotel. The fight seemed to be about why Shino Shibuya disappeared with Hideo Ohno during the day. Showta Takashimaya called Shino Shibuya a w*ore, a b*tch, while Shino Shibuya called Showta Takashimaya a wimp, a pervertโ€ฆ The fight escalated, thenโ€ฆ

During the process, Meng Fan could hear Shino Shibuya breathing deeply, talking about how she went to a restroom with Hideo Ohno, what he did to her, and how much she enjoyed itโ€ฆ she mocked Showta Takashimaya, saying maybe he likes hearing about it, and maybe the shame made him more excitedโ€ฆ

Showta Takashimaya screamed the entire timeโ€ฆ

The words, plus Meng Fan's imagination, made very strong visuals.

It was too much!

The story was just too juicy!

"Meng Fan!"

About a hundred meters away from his hotel, Meng Fan heard a voice calling him. It was Minako Sakurai!

Why was she here?

This was the worst timing!

It would be a problem!

Chapter 290: Target Number Two

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Minako Sakurai knew Meng Fan was meeting his sister this evening, so she stopped herself from calling him, though she desperately missed him.

She couldn't sit still, however, so she left her hotel.

As she walked, she reached the hotel where she met Meng Fan this morning. From looking on her phone, she could tell which hotel was his.

There were quite a few hotels around here. Judging by Meng Fan's budget, she could guess which was likely to be his hotel, and all of them were in the same direction. Minako Sakurai sat down in a coffeehouse facing these hotels and fended off a few men who tried to pick her up.

After a while, she left the coffeehouse and paced back and forth outside.

Her efforts weren't in vain, she actually did find Meng Fan.

It's justโ€ฆ

"Huh?"

When she saw him and called him, her brain seemed to freeze. It was as if her brain had a malfunction. She forgot why she was walking here and what she had just said. She stood in place, feeling bewildered.

"Geez, how obsessed am I with Meng Fan?"

After a while, her brain seemed to restart as she suddenly remembered everything. Then she smiled bitterly, "I must miss Meng Fan so much that I'm hallucinating. He's not here."

Minako Sakurai couldn't figure out why her brain had a sudden "memory loss;" she assumed she was crazy.

She looked around carefully, still not finding Meng Fan. Finally, she decided to call Meng Fan.

Meng Fan had already gone inside the hotel.

He was just at the nightclub, then he heard that surveillance footage. He really couldn't deal with a passionate Minako Sakurai right now.

He was a guy who hadn't experienced a lot of these things yet. He wasn't confident in his ability to resist, nor did he think it was something worth testing himself in.

Meng Fan didn't want to do things he wasn't confident in.

So he instantly put on the hat which made him less visible and marched into the hotel.

He didn't want Minako Sakurai to be too confused however, so he took off the hat as soon as he got inside the hotel. He didn't want her to doubt herself or to doubt her life.

Soon after he took off the hat, Minako Sakurai called, asking him to have a drink tonight. Her intention was obvious. Meng Fan had no choice but to say he was still hanging out with his sister, instead of rejecting her outright. He still needed to get some information from her.

Girl, please resist me. I couldn't help but use myself as bait. I wanted to save my life, and I hope to save your life too.

Meng Fan had to sigh pathetically at this point. It was rare to use a honey trap so lamely.

He could hear the disappointment in her voice. He felt bad, then said, "Minako, when are you back to work? I was going to visit Japan anyway. I wanted to see when you flew there. If the timing is right, I could take your flight to Japan."

Instantly, Minako Sakurai sounded energized.

"Aye, why is she so into me?"

Meng Fan was really in a dilemma with her.

After he arrived at the hotel, he took a cold shower to stop thinking wayward thoughts. The best way was to do a video chat with Wu Tong. As soon as they connected, he became focused.

After the video chat, Meng Fan still couldn't sleep. He didn't stay idle; instead, he took pen and paper to start drawing comics. He was still creating his original series, the world, and its characters, making a lot of art.

The next morning, he went jogging and of course, he ran into Minako Sakurai again. After the run and a breakfast, they each had to shower, naturally parting ways.

Then Minako Sakurai called him, wanting to visit somewhere, and Meng Fan turned her down again. Maybe it was because he was going to be on her flight to Japan, Minako Sakurai wasn't that crushed.๐‘›๐‘‚๐‘ฝ๐‘’๐‘™๐“ƒ๐‘’xt.๐” ๐š˜๐“‚

After he returned and showered, Meng Fan reviewed the footage from the streaming device again and didn't learn anything new. He didn't get new information from eavesdropping on Showta Takashimaya either.

In the afternoon, Meng Fan went to Meng Caitang's graduation ceremony. The ceremony was very elaborate, taking place at a high-end conference hall. There were many attendees. Most of the VIP guests had impressive titles. Meng Fan didn't know many of them, but he did know a few of the people giving speeches at the podium were leading in their industries.

Just like before his reincarnation, the person awarding Meng Caitang was a Nobel Prize winner. Meng Fan had no idea why a medical Nobel Prize winner would give a biomechanics award to Meng Caitang. Even after the ceremony ended, Meng Fan was still confused about the details of the award. He just knew it was amazing and involved research greatly advancing the field of biomechanics.

The research still hasn't succeeded, it was just progressing a little, yet it was enough to make Meng Caitang receive a great commendation.

Similarly, Meng Caitang used this progress to get a job at one of the three research institutes at the National University. If the research made periodic advances, Meng Caitang would have an opportunity to win the Nobel Prize.

Of course, Meng Fan could tell this research was very challenging. Some fields had gone through dozens or even a hundred years without any breakthrough developments.

Meng Fan being at the ceremony helped provide Meng Caitang with a family member in the audience, he also did a webcast to help other family members see the ceremony.

After the award ceremony, Meng Fan knew Meng Caitang needed to spend time with these VIPs, so he left first.

As soon as he left the National University, Meng Fan's face grew grim.

Showta Takashimaya called someone to meet him at the airport.

He sounded mysterious.

Meng Fan hesitated, then grabbed a taxi going toward the airport. But instead of going inside the airport, he stopped at a scenic location nearby called the Johore Battery. In addition to the scenic location, there were other streets here.

Immediately, he turned on the broadcast device to look for Showta Takashimaya.

Surprisingly, Meng Fan noticed Showta Takashimaya also getting out of a car. Soon after, Hideo Ohno arrived via another car. The two men entered the airport almost on the heels of each other. They greeted each other politely, not communicating much.

Meng Fan used the broadcast device to follow them, which showed the two men and someone who looked like a crew member going into an office.

"Meeting?"

Meng Fan heard voices from the earphone. This looked like a standard pre-flight meeting.

But why was Showta Takashimaya looking all mysterious?

He just needed to wait.

He just got done with a boring award ceremony, now he had to wait at a cafe for another boring meeting which actually needed translation. It was torture.

Although, given the life and death nature of this matter, Meng Fan wasn't sleepy; he stayed awake.

"Thank you."

I'm sorry, I want to be alone right now."

During this wait, Meng Fan was approached a few times.

After the meeting ended, Showta Takashimaya seemed to have received some kind of task, as he left for the ground crew's area with the flight crew member. Then, it was more words which Meng Fan couldn't fully understand, even with translation.

"Is everything ready?"

Finally, Meng Fan heard something which had to do with hijacking.

Showta Takashimaya "ran into" a colleague, whom he knew. They chatted, and the question came up during the conversation.

The colleague seemed to be part of the grounds crew rather than the flight crew. Using the man's face and his ID tag, Meng Fan quickly found his information.

Abdul Nak, a supervisor in charge of freight.
