In the Mystery Shack, Claire was begrudgingly fulfilling her duties of feeding the birds, her face etched with distaste as she extended her arm into one of the cages. Just as she was attempting to coax a bird to eat, it unceremoniously relieved itself on her arm, much to her horror.
The Hollys, ever vigilant, sensed Claire's displeasure and swiftly sprang into action. They collectively seized Claire and, without hesitation, dragged her into the kitchen, promising her that she had nothing to fear.
"Fear not, maiden," one Holly reassured her.
"For our genetic father, Hooty," another Holly chimed in.
"The Guardian Owl of Ka'Hoot," two more Hollys cheerfully continued.
"Will protect you!" Hooty himself announced, stretching into the kitchen. He regurgitated soap from his beak, covering Claire's arm with it. With a set of bathroom utensils at the ready, the Hollys meticulously scrubbed the soap onto her arm, although perhaps with a little more force than was comfortable. Claire couldn't help but let out a scream of pain as they worked.
Once the scrubbing was completed, Hooty shifted his focus to cleaning Claire's arm. He regurgitated water, using it to rinse her arm thoroughly. But by that point, Claire was not only physically uncomfortable but also mentally scarred by the bizarre experience.
In her mind, she visualized herself screaming against a surreal, hypnotic black-and-white background. The sheer absurdity of the situation had overwhelmed her.
When she finally snapped back to reality, Claire wasted no time. She ran out of the kitchen, desperate to escape the peculiar clutches of the Hollys and Hooty, leaving behind a scene that was nothing short of bewildering.
In Lydia's room, Rolf's group continued their covert surveillance of the Glaser's house. Lydia, growing curious, decided to take a look through the telescope, catching sight of a figure dressed in a Fonzie costume in the Neutron's front yard, exuding an air of mystery.
"Hey, who's the Fonz?" Lydia questioned, bewildered. But then, a realization struck her. "Oh wait a minute, that's no Fonz. That's... Jimmy! Where is he going?"
Dipper, not having the answers, replied with a shrug, "I don't know..."
Mabel, on the other hand, let out an innocent whistle, not wanting to give anything away.
Winona chimed in with a sassy comment, "Maybe he's going patrolling for women who don't piss her off." Her comment earned a snicker from Sophia.
Lydia, undeterred by the mystery surrounding Jimmy's actions, made up her mind. "I don't know where he's going, but I'm going to follow him," she declared, standing up to leave. But as she did, she experienced another dizzying episode of vertigo, and the hypnotic, black-and-white scene washed over her once more. This time, she ended up fainting in Winona's arms, much to the annoyance of her triplet sisters.
"Would you quit doing that?!" Winona scolded before unceremoniously dropping Lydia.
Lydia quickly recovered and silently left the room, her determination unwavering. Eddy took the opportunity to grab the telescope and continue spying.
As he observed the Glaser's house, Eddy couldn't help but express his confusion. "Hey, I don't know how this fits into your murder theory," he began, "But Shannon's wearing an apron with guts all over it and holding a big carving knife!"
Rolf, fueled by paranoia and fear, seized the binoculars to see for himself. His horror was palpable as he laid eyes on Shannon, clad in her apron, seemingly splattered with guts, and clutching a menacing knife.
"She did kill Jessi!" Rolf gasped, his voice quivering with dread. The evidence he had feared was now staring him right in the face, sending shivers down his spine.
Dipper, his voice steady and calm, was the first to speak. "Guys, we can't just jump to conclusions. There's no way Shannon would be willing to hurt her own daughter. We've all seen how much she cares about Jessi."
Arnold chimed in, his tone equally rational. "And we know that Jessi has been going through a tough time. Maybe she's acting out for other reasons, but we can't just assume her own mother is responsible for anything sinister."
Gerald nodded in agreement. "We need to consider all possibilities and not let fear cloud our judgment."
However, their efforts to reassure the group were met with resistance, particularly from Mabel, who had a tendency to see things through a more dramatic and irrational lens. She asserted, "You guys just don't get it! Jessi was mad at her mother for cheating on Jessi's father, Greg, with Cantor Dina. She's been rebellious lately, sneaking her father's weed gummies, shoplifting, and lashing out at her friends and family. She even wrote in her diary about wanting to... to murder her own family!"
Dipper, Arnold, and Gerald exchanged exasperated glances. Mabel's dramatic interpretation of the situation was causing more confusion and fear.
Dipper tried to reason with her. "Mabel, just because Jessi wrote something in her diary doesn't mean she meant it. People often write things they don't really mean when they're upset."
Gerald added, "And Jessi's mom being unfair to Mr. Glaser could be a reason for her rebellious behavior, but it doesn't make Shannon a murderer."
Arnold concurred, saying, "We should be careful about making accusations without evidence. It could lead to serious consequences."
But Mabel, swept up in her own narrative, remained adamant. "I just have a feeling that something's not right here. We can't ignore the signs."
Dipper, Arnold, and Gerald sighed, realizing that convincing the others would be an uphill battle. The tension in the room was palpable, and they had no choice but to wait and see if any more information would come to light.
Outside the Mystery Shack, Soos and Wendy were in the process of closing up shop. The day had been long, and they were looking forward to some well-deserved rest. But their plans took an unexpected turn when they spotted a remote control plane in the sky. Their curiosity piqued, they followed the flying contraption with their eyes.
As the plane drew closer, Soos suddenly realized the identity of the mischievous pilot.
Determined to protect his hard-earned money, Soos took action. He dodged the plane as it swooped down and, in his haste, stumbled to the ground. But Soos wasn't one to give up easily. He quickly rose to his feet when he saw the plane making another pass, coming directly toward him.
Wendy, not entirely sure what was happening, asked, "Soos, what the hell are you doing?"
"It's Ridley! He's trying to get my money!" Soos exclaimed, his eyes fixed on the approaching aircraft.
The chase continued until Soos finally lost his footing and tumbled into the garage. As he fell, the remote control plane crashed into a painting hanging above him, creating a mess. It was at that moment that Rand Ridley made his move. He approached Soos and snatched his wallet, ready to claim his payment.
But Wendy, never one to back down, reacted swiftly. With a swift and forceful move, she grabbed Ridley's wrist, causing him to drop the wallet and the money that was almost his.
"F-fine," Ridley grumbled, his wrist throbbing in pain. "Tell Pines I'll be back next week, Pines' servant!"
Soos, still lying on the ground, couldn't help but protest between his tears. "I'm not MR. PINES' SERVANT!"
Wendy, bemused and amused by the chaotic turn of events, couldn't help but shake her head at the strange encounter. It was just another day at the Mystery Shack, after all.
Soos stormed into the Pines' living room, looking worse for wear with dirt-streaked clothes and a torn appearance. He wasted no time in making his grievances known.
"First of all, Mr. Pines, I'm using your shower," Soos declared as he headed upstairs. His frustration and exhaustion were evident in his voice. Then, in the middle of the stairs, he abruptly shouted, "And second of all, you have to pay RAND RIDLEY!"
Stan, unimpressed and unfazed, watched Soos's dramatic entrance and outburst. "Well, that's a good way to announce your presence," he muttered.
Just as the chaos seemed to subside, Claire entered the living room, visibly shaken from her recent encounter with the peculiar Hollys and their unusual rituals. She stood near the door, hugging herself as if trying to comfort her frazzled nerves.
Stan, maintaining his indifference, inquired, "So... how did it go? Did you feed the birds?"
Claire hesitated for a moment, her nervousness making her words uncertain. "Well... uh... yeah... I mean, I dunno! I think I did!"
Stan's impatience grew as he retorted, "Well, either you did or you didn't."
Claire, not one to back down, retorted, "Well, you didn't either! And you didn't even get, like, pooped on! Now go find someone else to go feed those stupid birds!"
The living room remained a hub of exasperation and frustration, with both Soos and Claire seeking relief from the unexpected challenges they had faced.
In Lydia's room, Rolf was the only one left, anxiously watching his friends who had stealthily infiltrated the Glaser house.
"Ed boys and friends, please be careful!" Rolf muttered, his worry evident in his voice. He couldn't help but imagine the worst as he continued to observe the situation.
Meanwhile, inside the Glaser house, Eddy was rummaging around in the kitchen, leaving Rolf confused and concerned. He asked, "Are you checking the rubbish bags full of Jessi's corpse?"
Eddy, focused on his own peculiar mission, didn't respond as he continued his strange activities. He eventually emerged from the kitchen, holding two drinks and began dancing for some unknown reason. Rolf couldn't make sense of it but decided to go along with it. "Hohoo! Delightful, wisecracking Ed Boy!"
Dipper, Arnold, and Gerald, on the other hand, were on a mission to find evidence that Shannon was not a murderer. They scoured the house meticulously, their attention drawn to every detail that might exonerate Shannon from Rolf's suspicions.
But just as they were engrossed in their search, Shannon suddenly entered the room, catching them off guard. The Eds, never ones to stick around when things got tough, made a hasty exit, leaving Dipper, Arnold, and Gerald behind to face the music.
Rolf, observing the situation through his telescope, couldn't contain his fear. He shouted in a panic, "ED BOYS! RUN AWAY! FLEE! DO NOT FORGET THE ROOT BEERS!"
Shannon, now suspicious of Rolf's telescope, started to investigate the source of the scrutiny. Rolf, realizing that he was in a precarious position, quickly backed out of the light, trying not to draw any more attention to himself. He struggled to turn off the lamp, fumbling with the switch, until he finally succeeded.
The room plunged into darkness, and Rolf held his breath, hoping that he hadn't given himself away.
In Stan's bathroom, Soos had just started his shower, lathering up and getting ready to wash himself. Claire, who was still shaken from her bird-feeding adventure, came into the bathroom, a bit disoriented. She was confused about who might be in the shower, not expecting to find anyone there.
With a puzzled expression, Claire approached the shower curtain, her curiosity getting the best of her. She hesitated for a moment, then decided to open the shower curtain, revealing a startled Soos inside. Both of them screamed in shock at the unexpected encounter.
Claire, still bewildered, demanded, "Why the hell are you in the bathroom?" She then grabbed the scrubber and started to repeatedly hit Soos with it in her frustration.
Annoyed and now suffering the consequences of Claire's actions, Soos retorted, "Ahhh! Dude, that's really hot!" The water temperature had skyrocketed, scalding Soos and leaving him in pain.
As the shower chaos continued, Soos accidentally knocked over a bottle of red shampoo, causing it to spill and run down the drain. He was clearly frustrated and exclaimed, "And you spilled Mr. Pines' ex-wife's shampoo!"
