Hey everyone!

I think I'm just about getting these in for October. The last week is always chaotic so these are a little late but they're up. Work should start calming down now as well. I am going to be attempting NaNoWriMo this year to get some chapters written for all my fics as it worked rather well in July. Wish me luck!

Lots of love,

A Wild Heart – Part 13:

Once Aragorn was sure that Éowara was warmed and recovered enough to make the journey the group began to pack everything up to resume the journey to the Aldburg. For the Ladies of Rohan, Ithilien and Gondor they would be going home. Aldburg was where they'd grown up as children with their brother, close enough to Edoras to see their Uncle, but far enough to not see him all the time.

Éowara made sure she had some books and gave her horse an apple for being such a good horse the previous night. Éowyn was still upset with her sister but that would melt away as it always did. She could never stay mad at her sister for long. That was something that would never change.

Eventually the three mounted their horses and bid goodbye to the Wild Men before continuing their journey through the Beacon Hills. They were called that as the Warning Beacons of Gondor snaked their way through the White Mountains, or Ered Nimrais, to send a message to Rohan that Gondor needed aid. They'd been lit in the War of the Ring but now remained silent and dull.

"Your cousin has taken up the seat of Reeve of Eastfold, Thane of Aldburg and that is why we are making for Aldburg first," Aragorn spoke, "whether your brother has made his way there I cannot say. We shall make for Edoras tomorrow at some point," he said as he glanced at the sisters as they rode along.

"I did wonder if Éothain would take up my brother's seat," Éowyn spoke before noticing Éowara just reading a book. She sighed before looking at the road ahead.

"Éowara?" Aragorn asked, "I never asked you about Boromir's thoughts as you two made your way through Cardolan on foot. Did you recall being ambushed?"

"We were at one point yes," the woman replied as she looked up at the King, "It was twice we were ambushed eventually. One we lost Gléoda and the second we lost Boromir's horse. His was lost in Tharbad and we had to carry on on foot. I learnt how to use a bow and arrow, the only thing I was unable to wield," she said before glancing at her sister as she spoke.

"When did Boromir ask for your hand?" Éowyn asked.

"Not long after we arrived and rested in Rivendell," came the reply, "he took me up to the falls of Imladris where there is a balcony and he asked for my hand there."

"Then you were to travel back to Gondor with him," Aragorn spoke as he remembered, "I remember him speaking to me about that but, as soon as he joined the Fellowship of the Ring, Lord Elrond had you escorted back to Edoras unaware of Grima's influence on your Uncle. If I'd have known I'd have bid you remain in Rivendell under my foster father's protection or sent to Lothlórien to await news."

Éowyn looked between the two and wondered what had transpired between the two in Rivendell as it was clear the two had met in the haven of Elrond's House.

"Why didn't you bid her to remain there? You could have saved her when I was in danger," she questioned.

"Because the events of Rohan were unknown to me and Éowara's place was with her people," Aragorn spoke, "Lord Elrond and I thought we were doing what was best for her."

They rode on for a while in silence. Aragorn watching the surroundings for any signs of danger, Éowyn was lost in her thoughts and Éowara was back reading her book once more.

Day began to pass to dusk and, eventually, the three and their escort crossed into the Eastfold of Rohan.

"Hail Aragorn, King of the Reunited Kingdom!" came a voice from nowhere.

"Hail Éothain, Reeve of the Eastfold!" came Aragorn's reply pulling both sisters' gazes to their cousin.

"Éowyn and Éowara! Welcome back to your childhood home of Aldburg. We have been expecting you and so has someone else," Éothain spoke before Éowara's eyes opened wide and she urged her horse forwards, dying to see her brother again for she had missed him dearly.

"I see she is still as reckless as she was before the War," Éothain spoke and Éowyn simply nodded before suggesting they hurried on to make sure Éowara had reached Aldburg.

The three arrived to a fanfare announcing their arrival before Aragorn caught sight of Éowara being embraced by her brother. The joy on Éowara's face was enough to make him smile. Despite Éowyn having raised Éowara the woman had always been closer to Éomer, something she could not understand.

"Hail Éomer, Lord of the Mark!" he called.

"Hail Aragorn Elessar, King of the Reunited Kingdom!" Éomer replied, his arms still around his youngest sister as he watched Éothain, Éowyn and Aragorn join them, "my youngest sister assumed right it would seem and knew I would be here for your arrival," he said before Éothain led them into the Mead Hall of Aldburg.

"The rebuilding is progressing well I see," Aragorn spoke once the group were sat down with food and wine.

"It is," Éomer spoke as he looked at Aragorn, "the rebuilding of Rohan is beginning. I have a request from Stoke in the Broadacres for my sisters," he said causing Éowara and Éowyn to look up.

"Fríthild…" they both spoke at the same time.

"Yes, your mentor wishes to see you both whilst you are in Rohan. I though you could go that way when you leave Edoras," Éomer spoke, "then through Isengard and up to the Trollshaws to rest at Rivendell and then onto Evendim from there. I am aware that Éowyn will be returning to Gondor so I will offer up some of my soldiers for the escort from Edoras," he said and Aragorn nodded in agreement.

"That would be appreciated. I also have to speak with my Halfling friends about something but I will send word to them once we are in Evendim as it involves Éowara," Aragorn spoke and everyone was wondering what he was up to.

The night passed with relative joy and Éowara hardly left her brother's side, just happy to be with her brother once more. The three would sleep once more in their childhood home before the short ride to Edoras the next day.
