Goren was fine...
So good.
But he was still going to have to wake up, and more importantly, go away.
But given the position of their two bodies, Goren was going to have to play it safe, to get away from Eames, and above all not wake her.
She was on top of him, their bodies naked against each other, her head cuddled and asleep against his chest, and her legs tangled with his.
This was going to be the obstacle course.
But Goren had to get out of the way, and above all think about leaving.
He couldn't be there when Eames woke up.
Just because they had a crazy passion at night didn't mean Eames would be happy to see him in the morning.
So it was better to leave and go home.
What's more, Goren would avoid any risk that Nathan might surprise them, and above all, avoid any hope that his parents might one day get together.
And although it was very pleasant to feel Eames's small breasts against his chest, and what he had at his crotch was far from insensitive, he absolutely had to get away from Eames.
So gently, and slowly, Goren pulled away from Eames, but she wrapped her arms around his neck, clung to him.
- Don't leave me Bobby...
At her words, Goren's heart sank.
Don't leave her…
If only he could stay with her, and her son.
But he couldn't stay.
Not until he knew Eames desired.
He brought his hands behind his neck to Eames's arms, wanting to pull them apart, but she tightened her grip, preventing any escape.
- Alex... Please...
She shook her head in denial, and nestled her head against his chest.
- No... And no.
What do you mean, no.
But even when she was asleep, she refused to comply.
Eames really was a tenacious woman.
As she had always been during their partnership.
And that was what had charmed him.
But now, charmed or not, he wanted to be able to extricate himself from the little lady.
Good God...
Goren absolutely had to find a solution.
So maybe...
He brought his hand to Eames's chin, forced her to raise her sleeping face to his, and brought his hand to her cheek, brushed it.
- I promise I'll never leave you, Alex... He lowered his lips to hers, brushed them. I love you too much to leave you.
So at his words, and that kiss, and most of all, against all odds, Eames plastered a small smile on his lips, and loosened his embrace, giving Goren the chance to pull away.
But Goren didn't risk wasting a second, because Eames could always tighten her grip, and he'd be trapped again.
For even though Eames was smaller than him, and much thinner, she had one of his strengths.
So without waiting, Goren moved away from Eames, and got out of bed, heading into the living room to collect their things.
Finally dressed, and with Eames' belongings in hand, he returned to Eames' room, to see her, her head buried against the pillow, her body stretched out, stomach side against the sheet, exposing her small buttocks to his view.
At the sight, Goren's whole body burst into flames, but he pulled himself together.
This was no time to be thinking about that.
He approached the bed and sat on its edge, making the mattress sag.
He carefully laid Eames's clothes on the sheet, and moved his hand to Eames's cheek, caressing it with infinite tenderness.
- Bobby...
At this whisper, Goren blushed violently, and withdrew his hand, as if he'd been burned, and more importantly, caught, doing something stupid.
- Alex... If you only knew...
Reluctantly, he got up from the bed and headed for the door, but stopped one last time to look at the sleeping Eames.
If only he could do otherwise.
And wake up with Eames in his arms every morning.
But he couldn't hope.
Even if that's what he wanted from the bottom of his heart.
Reluctantly, he turned away and opened the door, stepping out of the room, gently closing the door behind him.
He put his hand on the door, caressed it one last time, thinking of Eames, then let his hand fall back, and stepped aside.
But then he came face to face with his son's door.
Thinking of his son, Goren walked to the door and opened it.
His gaze fell on his sleeping son, who was fast asleep, clutching a funny yellow teddy bear that looked like a sponge, wearing shorts and a shirt.
If Goren remembered, his son had told him that this strange teddy bear was called SpongeBob, and that it came from a cartoon he loved.
Maybe he should watch the cartoon, to get an idea.
SpongeBob wearing shorts and a shirt wasn't a common sight.
- Daddy...
At his son's whisper, Goren walked over to the bed.
- You'll come live with mommy and me one day.
Come live with them one day...
If only he could.
It was his dearest desire.
Gently, Goren brought his hand to his son's ebony curls, stroking them affectionately.
- Maybe one day... I'll come and live with you and Mom.
At his words, a big smile broke out on his son's lips, lighting up his face.
At that smile, Goren felt his heart melt with love for his son.
How could a child ask so little of his father?
Just hope that he would come and live with them, without ever forcing him.
Eames had truly made an extraordinary child.
And with a mother like Eames, it couldn't have been any other way.
Nathan was so kind, so generous, asking only for attention and love.
How he loved his son.
And proud to be his father.
- Good night, son.
Goren pulled his fingers away from his son's curls, let his hand fall back, and walked away toward the door.
- Dad... Goren stopped, turned to his son. Good night.
Goren smiled fondly at his words.
He left his son's room, closed the door behind him, and walked away towards the apartment door.
Maybe he should have a serious talk with Eames, and consider moving in with them.
With his consent, of course.
And who knows...
Maybe he could consider making his and Eames' relationship a long-term one.
