If history has taught people anything, it is that sieges can last from a few days, to a few months, to a few years in the case of the Siege of Leningrad. But that's not the case for Washington D.C. Jet fighters dropped missiles on tanks that were brought out of hiding. Soldiers exchanged gunfire on the bridges and across the rivers. Subway trains carrying supplies to the capital were constantly stopped by the Japanese alliance forces and checked for weapons of any kind. Nagisa kept artillery guns firing so much that their barrels warped from the heat and rate of fire. Bertrand and his team kept a corridor open for any civilians who wanted to leave D.C. to avoid the fighting.

About 6 months into the Siege, the Capital was in ruins. The Capitol Building took a direct hit from a bomb and the interior was destroyed. The Smithsonian was also struck with minor bombs or missiles as the Japanese Alliance army didn't want to damage any of the exhibits. The Bertrand Republic moved all the historical documents of the Old US to a safe bunker for the Siege. Nagisa even sent a tank battalion across the George Mason, Rochambeau, and Arland D. Williams Jr. Memorial bridges while John had a Loyal Bertrand Republic Tank Battalion cross the Frederick Douglass, 11th Street, and Navy Yard Bridges.

Machine gun fire bounced off the hulls of the tanks as they pushed across the two sets of bridges. The Tanks rolled over the bridges one tank per bridge at a time so as to not have them collapse. Once the tanks were across, they moved up to allow the other tanks to cross while also providing cover for the infantry as they worked to secure the other side of the bridges while troops boarded American made Assault Amphibious Vehicles to cross the river in case the bridges failed while also preparing their Type 91 Armored Vehicle-launched Bridges to help get more armored units into the city.

"Sir, the Armor is moving out into the city," said a soldier to Nagisa and the others. The blue haired General nodded his head and said, "Excellent, the floodgates are opened. Order our tanks to take the first two blocks to allow our infantry to come across and we can take D.C."

That was when a General of the Southern Republic walked in and said, "Gentlemen, my men are ready and are at your disposal. Where do you need us?"

Nagisa looked at him and said, "Take your men across the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and secure the Cambria Hotel… Lee."

"Sir." said Lee before he turned to walk out but Nagisa got his attention again and he asked him, "By any chance are you related to Confederate general Robert E. Lee?"

Lee nodded his head and said, "Yes sir I am, I am Gen. Lee's great-great-great-grandson, I am Robert E. Lee the sixth."

Nagisa smiled and said, "I see, well I hope you're happy doing what your great-great-great-grandfather couldn't do." General Lee the Sixth nodded and smiled before he walked out of the tent. John chuckled and that got Nagisa's attention.

"What's so funny?" Nagisa asked John. John looked and said, "My great-great-great-grandfather fought for the union, defending Washington from the Confederacy. Now look at me, I'm letting the great-great-great-grandson of Robert E. Lee help me liberate Washington D.C. from the War mongers that want to rule the world. It's just… just ironic is all." Nagisa and Bertrand both chuckled before going back to worrying about D.C. Soon the Bertrand republic forces defending D.C. were slowly running out of Ammo and forced to distribute the remaining rounds while forced to give ground to defend key locations. The Japanese Alliance then got more and more armor and infantry into D.C. the pockets of toughest resistance were at the White House, the fake Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the United States/Bertrand Republic Capitol Building. The Alliance forces, outnumbering the defenders 20 to 1, gave them one last chance to surrender, but the defenders refused.

The Japanese Alliance soldiers opened fire, and several defending soldiers took shots and fell, never to rise. Other soldiers caught rounds to their shoulders or arms. Alliance tanks fired APAM shells at the barricades, destroying several and killing more of the defending Bertrand Republic Soldiers. The Alliance soldier charged and took the Bertrand Republic Capitol Building, but the Defenders at the White House and where the weapon was were making the alliance forces fight for every inch of ground. Bertrand looked at Nagisa and asked, "Permission to take out the weapon?"

"Granted." Nagisa said to him. Bertrand smiled and walked out. He jumped and landed in between the two sides, creating a shockwave that blasted dust into the air, the defenders and Alliance forces ceased firing and were shocked at what they witnessed.

Bertrand cracked his neck and said, "One chance soldiers, give up."

The commanding officer of the Bertrand Republic Soldiers defending shouted, "WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER!" Bertrand smiled.

"Goodie." He said before putting his hands together and got into a stance.

"Kaaaa-meeee…" John said, putting his hands and pointing it at the alliance soldiers.

"Is- is he serious?" one said.

"Haaaaa-meeee…" An orb of energy began to appear and glow in his hands.

"OH HE'S SERIOUS!"

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The orb became a beam of energy and it struck the fake Washington Monument, blowing a hole right through it. The Bertrand Republic soldiers that were defending the fake Washington Monument looked up in shock. The hologram projecting the Washington Monument took damage and the Weapon was revealed to the defenders. They all gaped as one Bertrand Republic soldier asked, "Where the hell is the Washington Monument?"

"It was taken down months ago. Your "President" ordered it." Bertrand said to the defenders. The Bertrand Republic soldiers were in too much of a shock to realize that the Alliance Soldiers were in close enough distance to them and they surrendered.

From the White house, the Grand Grim Reaper saw that his weapon was destroyed so he saw no reason to remain. He snarled before gathering his followers and leaving that world behind. Without him, the defenders soon surrendered and Washington D.C. was taken.

The next hour, Nagisa made sure that the Bertrand Republic soldiers that surrendered were treated with respect and care when John asked that they'd be treated as such. Nagisa wanted to make the New Bertrand Republic respected like it was before the Grand Grim Reaper usurped control from the real John. Bertrand and his team helped rebuild the Washington Monument after finding where the original stones were placed. The civilians who ran out returned, and that was when the Japanese Alliance was informed about the Russians pushing into the former Northern Republic.

"If you don't wanna stay to help take on the Russians, we get it," Nagisa told Bertand and his group. Bertrand looked at his team and they all nodded in agreement. He nodded back before looking back at Nagisa.

"We're staying. We said we'd help you bring peace to the world. And as far as we can tell, there's still no peace here," Nagisa was shocked before he saw Bertrand's team nod their heads. He smiled and thanked them.

SW Nagisa stepped forwards and said, "Well we came here to help deal with the Bertrand Republic, we're gonna go back to our world."

"Got it, stay safe you guys." Bertrand said to the Star Wars group. SW Nagisa and his team nodded their heads and walked through their portal. Nagisa looked at the heads of each portion of the Alliance army and asked them if they were still willing to assist him in dealing with the russians.

"The Russians are a danger to the Japanese mainland. As far as I'm concerned, we're not done yet. My forces are ready." said the head commander of the Hokkaido Empire's armed forces. The other commanders of the other counties in the Japanese Alliance also agreed, minus the New Japanese Empire of the Rising Sun's leader.

He said that they were just there to help with the Bertrand Republic. Now that the Bertrand Republic has been dealt with, the New Japanese Empire of the Rising Sun was leaving the Alliance and would take land from the Shikoku People's Democratic Republic.

"Yeah I figured you'd try that." Bertrand said as he made a call and showed the commander that the New Japanese Empire of the Rising Sun's Capital city was taken. "We heard you plotting with your leaders to try and take land from them after the Bertrand Republic was defeated. So I had some friends of mine take the capital quickly and give it to the Shikoku People's Democratic Republic as compensation for trying to threaten the alliance."

The leader of the New Japanese Empire of the Rising Sun's armed forces was shocked before trying to kill Bertrand, who just broke his sword and pinned the man to the ground as the soldiers of the Japanese alliance stopped soldiers of the New Japanese Empire of the Rising Sun from stopping him.

The next day, the soldiers of the New Japanese Empire of the Rising Sun and their commander were sent back to Japan with escorts as the alliance looked north to liberate Canada.

I hope you guys enjoyed the twenty-sixth chapter of the story. If you have ideas for the next chapter leave a comment saying it. First time writing like this so I had some help from a friend of mine, later.
