Chapter 1
Creation
In an empty basement of a hospital, a group of men were huddled around an infant resting on a table.
"Are you sure about this, sir?" one man asked.
"Yes. He will be perfect." the head man said.
"But it's just... I mean... he's so young." a second man said. "He won't be able to serve you until he grows much older."
"Agreed, sir. He won't be of much use until... maybe he's a teenager." a third man said.
"Yes. And in that time, I will make and mold him into exactly what I need of him." the head man said.
The head man than raised his fingers and touched the baby, a strange surging of energy flowing into the newborn, but not hurting him.
"You, my boy, will become my newest and greatest weapon upon this Earth. You will be... my new Ghost Rider!" the man, who called himself Roarke, said with a sinister grin.
Not wishing to make the same mistake he made with his last two Riders, then known as Carter Slate and Johnny Blaze, Roarke had decided to seek out a new candidate for his demonic bounty hunter.
Once he had returned to the human world from Hell, after being physically sent back by the previous Ghost Rider, Roarke assembled what agents he had left and sought to recruit new ones. He sent them out with one purpose... to find a baby to become his new Rider.
They had found him in Japan.
A man named Gendo Ikari and his wife Yui were about to have their first child. But complications quickly arose.
For some reason, Yui and the baby were both in danger of dying.
Naturally, Roarke intervened. He made a deal with Gendo, that if he gave him his child, literally signing his unborn child over to this stranger, his wife would survive.
Gendo agreed without hesitation.
Yui was saved and the baby mysteriously vanished.
The mother-to-be was naturally upset at having lost her first child, and Gendo did everything he could to console her.
Yui eventually succumbed to heartache and grief over her loss, somehow feeling that what had happened wasn't natural, and within a year had died from a combination of alcohol and medication.

Meanwhile, on Mount Olympus, the goddess Athena was working on her newest creation.
Made out of polished marble, the goddess had worked tirelessly to chip, chisel and shape this piece of stone into a new champion for the world. A new Wonder Woman!
Once she was finished with her sculpture, she stood back and stared at it, admiring her work.
The statue was tall and shapely, notable athletic, and with a mature look of an adult woman.
Just then, Artemis and Aphrodite entered her personal quarters.
"Sister, you're done?" Artemis asked.
"Yes. All finished. Tell me what you think?" Athena asked.
"Powerful." Artemis said.
"Beautiful." Aphrodite said.
"Intelligent eyes." the goddess of the hunt said.
"Such lovely hips." the goddess of love said.
"So, this is your new amazon champion?" Artemis asked.
"Yes. But to make her as powerful as possible, I need your help." the goddess of wisdom and warfare said to the pair.
The pair smiled at each other.
"Alright, sister. Let's begin." Aphrodite said.
The three goddesses summoned their powers, and blasted the statue with their combined energies.
Within seconds, the statue glowed and hummed to life, endowed with all the power of the three Olympians.
The three goddesses stood back and stared at their joint creation, which looked around, taking in her new environment. She looked at the three goddesses before her, instantly knowing who they were and what they had done to and for her.
From Athena she had gained wisdom, intelligence, military prowess, mastery of dozens of languages, including those of alien origins, multiple complex crafts, sciences and philosophies, and empathy.
From Artemis she had gained enhanced senses, telescopic vision and super hearing.
From Aphrodite she had gained stunning beauty and a kind heart, magical resistance, and great durability.
But the trio wold bless her with other attributes as well.
They would give her blessings from Demeter, which would give her strength drawn from the Earth itself.
From Hestia: the fires of truth, which would be focused through her new lasso.
And from Hermes: incredible speed and the power of flight.
They had already commissioned Hephaestus to forge some new items for this new Wonder Woman.
Bracelets, a belt, a sword, a shield, and a tiara. Each with special abilities of their own.
Aphrodite, Artemis and Athena just stared at the tall and athletic-looking woman, her skin pale like the marble she was carved from. Short blue hair he color of the skin, and bright red eyes that flashed like ruby gems.
"Who... am I?" the marble woman asked the three goddesses.
"Hmm. That's right. We didn't give you a name, did we?" Artemis said.
"I have a couple of choices." Athena said. "Your title, will be Wonder Woman."
"Wonder Woman." she repeated.
"She's like a ray of light." Aphrodite said.
"Ray. Or maybe Rei. R-E-I. A more feminine version of Ray." Artemis suggested.
"Hmm. She does look a little Asian, doesn't she?" Aphrodite said.
"That was not my intention." Athena said.
"And red eyes?" Aphrodite asked Athena. "Something you added?"
"Skin like polished marble, hair as blue as the sky, eyes as red as rubies. She will certainly stand out, won't she?" Artemis asked Athena.
"The amazons of Themyscira at least can pass for human. Despite their obvious beauty. Your... champion... might be even more noticeable." Aphrodite said.
"Perhaps. Which is why I am going to send her to Themyscira to be trained by their best warriors. She will be the new Amazon Champion of Olympus." Athena said proudly.
Though she had just been born, Rei understood her purpose and what she was created for. However, there was a certain part of her that realized something was missing. Something that she knew would make her whole.
She would go to the island of Themyscira, and be trained by the Amazons to be the new Wonder Woman. And then to Mans World, where she hoped to find what she sought, what she knew would make her whole.

(Ten Years Later)
Gendo Ikari walked into the dark warehouse where Roarke, the man he had been searching for, was meeting with a group of undesirable individuals.
"Roarke!" Gendo shouted as he held the shotgun in his hands.
"Well, well, well. Mr. Ikari, yes?" Roarke said with a smirk, recognizing the man.
"I've been looking for you!" Gendo said, unconcerned about the other men in the room.
"Have you now? For what purpose? Our business was concluded long ago."
"Revenge!"
"Revenge?" Roarke laughed. "For what, may I ask?"
"My wife! She died because of what you did!"
Roarke looked even more amused.
"What I did? Oh...really now?" he laughed.
"You took our child!" he snapped.
"You signed him over to me. All to save your wife's life." Roarke said simply. "Don't blame me because she couldn't handle such a loss. It's funny, isn't it? A mother, loving her child so much, even one she had never met, that the loss of said child would cause her own heart to break. But, that's what love gets you."
"You monster!"
"Oh, don't give me that. You're the one who sold your own son to me, just so that your own wife would live. Most parents would give their lives for the next generation of their own blood. But you didn't hesitate to sacrifice your own son. Don't blame me because your wife actually cared for her own future child."
Gendo was fuming now, but knew that he was right. In part.
"You just assumed that your wife was just like you, only caring about her spouse and not your offspring. Can't blame me for you being so wrong."
"Where is he?"
"Oh! So now you're interested in actually knowing where he is, what he's doing? And if I don't tell you?"
"I'll kill you!" he declared, aiming his shotgun at the man.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Roarke laughed. "You think you can kill me? With that? I don't think my Rider will allow that."
Suddenly, the a chain wrapped around the barrel of the gun and yanked it out of Gendo's hands.
"What?" he gasped.
He looked to the side and saw a young boy standing there, dressed all in black, and holding a chain in his hand.
Gendo gasped when he saw a shade of his wife in the boy.
"Y... you!" he gasped.
"Meet Shinji. My new Rider." Roarke said as the boy stepped in between himself and Gendo.
"Your... Rider?"
"I won't bore you with unimportant details. Unimportant to you, that is." Roarke smirked.
Gendo stared at the boy, even as the childs eyes briefly flashed with glowing red and yellow flame.
Roarke approached the pair and stood next to the boy.
"He's growing up quite well, don't you think? I'm sure his mother would be proud at how strong I am making him."
"You bastard! I'll kill you!" Gendo snapped.
"Don't try and act tough against me, Gendo. Bigger, stronger and far more powerful have tried, and failed."
"I have nothing left to lose! Don't Push Me!"
PUSH!
Gendo flew through the air and slammed against the nearby wall, hard enough leaving a spider-web crack in the stone block of the room. He had been so focused on Roarke, he didn't realize at first that it was the boy who had pushed him away.
"Like I said, Gendo, don't act tough against me." Roarke said as he approached the man. "Shinji is mine, and I have big plans for him. As for you and me... our deal is done. And I am being quite generous so I will let you live. Don't try and find me, don't try and interfere in my plans. Don't try and take what is now mine. For if you do... I'll send him after you, and end you once and for all."
Gendo was barely conscious as Roarke and his men departed. His fading eyesight stayed on the boy until darkness had completely consumed him.

Authors Notes:
This was something I had been kicking around for a while.
A DC-version of Rei Ayanami and a Marvel-version of Shinji Ikari, meeting and getting together. I naturally tried to come up with something that would make them unique and completely different to each other.
This version of Rei is based on Wonder Woman 1,000,000 - created from a marble statue, living on the planet Venus which is home to the Amazons in 853rd Century.
This version of Shinji is based on the Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance movie staring Nicholas Cage. I know a lot of people didn't really like the movie, and I had mixed feelings about it since it was a bit different from the first movie, but it was good for what it was.
For this specific story arc I only have three-to-four chapters for an idea. The other chapters are still in progress.
Happy Halloween!
