Welcome to a new story by the almighty god of wolves, this story has been in production for a long time and relates heavily to another story but that's another story, for now, let's see how this mess starts, shall we?

GOW

The capital wasteland looked terrible. No one knew what to expect when they arrived and after two years not much had changed in the area surrounding the Enclave's New base.

Of course, those two years weren't wasted, vaults and former bases have already been scavenged, the last remains were being sorted and dealt with by high command as they plotted their next move.

Well, not all of the high command.

The door to Raven Rock shook open as the soldiers guarding their new home straightened at the sight of the exception. General Colwell, call sign Fenrir, leader of the Devil Dogs and one of the six people who served in the Enclave's high command and the youngest Brigadier General in American history strode in wearing his modified APA giving a purple glow to the room.

"Welcome back sir," one of the soldiers said with a salute. In return he got a friendly bark from the cyber dog seen with him, each Devil Dog has one, most soldiers never knew why but since only a few divisions used cyber dogs it made them stand out.

"Congratulations on your promotion sir," the other said. A groan echoed from the general as he walked past them.

"You'd think people would stop saying that after six months," he said, a hiss and clank made the soldiers jump into full attention as the power armor opened up and general Colwell stepped out. They'd both seen him before, everyone had during the ceremony where Eden gave out rewards and promotions as he accepted the rank he now possessed but seeing him up close was not something either of them expected as he walked up to them,

stopping a foot away the soldiers got a good look at him, light brown hair went down to his shoulder just staying in regulation, some light facial hair dotted his face in a little beard and mustache a single scar could be seen on his tanned skin.

"S-sorry sir, I just wanted to congratulate you on your achievement sir!" The soldier said.

"I know, you and so many people feel the need to comment on it." The general said, "how long have you two been on gate duty?"

"J-just three hours sir!" The other soldier responded.

"Three hours? Well, I'm sure you must be bored of standing around, Ghost take his post for now, I'll send you off with Tempest here to collect some of those death claws we saw outside unless you're also tired of standing around?"

"I can continue with my post sir!" He responded.

"There you have it first private, Tempest go ahead and show him where those death claws were, I can't wait to hear about your own achievements," Colwell said with a smile, the soldiers with him gave a salute, one moving to post by the door while the other stretched, ready to go back into the waste.

"Thank you sir, I could always use a good death claw tussle to unwind," Tempest said, her voice slightly distorted from the power armor she had on as the soldier took a shaky step towards her.

Colwell smiled as the two made their way out of the base, taking a few steps forwards and clasped the soldier on the back before walking away with his cyberdog, his soldiers already killed or crippled most of the death claws on the walk home and Ghost was already calling Argos to get his power armor, the Devil Dog's armorer would come by and take a look at his armor before bringing it back to his room so there was nothing for him to worry about as he began roaming the bunker.

"General Colwell!" Autumn's voice rang through the hall. The Devil dog leader turned and saw the Major General approaching him followed by a short white-haired woman with red eyes in a simple suit.

"Autumn, Cerberus, how was the meeting?" Colwell asked with a small smile.

"You'd know if you bothered to show up Colwell, you can't keep sending Lucy in your stead for all our meetings." Autumn said, with each word Lucy's cheeks grew redder until they almost matched her eyes. "You're one of our highest commanding officers your seal was required as well for us to go ahead with the plans."

"You know Lucy represents me, If she says Yes I say yes simple as that sir," Colwell said, his cyber dog walking over to sniff Lucy

"It's not just about your approval, you're one of the most important figures in the entire Enclave, you need to take your job more seriously every word you say and action you take carries the weight of our military might. You not showing up for a meeting doesn't just show your lack of care it shows your lack of readiness and respect for your office." Autumn said Colwell and him stood a few feet away from each other while Lucy began petting her CO's cyber dog.

"My job is killing the enemies of the Enclave, I was out there wiping ghouls out of the streets while you guys were arguing about where labor and time get thrown, Lucy goes to the meeting and speaks with my authority if I want to know what happened at those meetings you know what I'll do?" Colwell began, "LUCY what happened at the meeting."

The lady in question snapped onto her feet into attention, "Yes sir! most of our steel supplies will be going towards refitting the barracks and reinforcing our defense, we're also devoting a large chunk of our scientists into agriculture advancements and scouts have been redirected to look for more fertile soil and water."

"Thank you Lucy, though what happened to getting Liberty prime online?" Colwell cut her off.

"Oh, It was outvoted, sir, if you want I have a few more notes and I can reference them real quick for more detailed information?" Lucy asked.

"That'll be fine Colonel Leal, I believe the point the General was making is clear, but mine should be too Colwell, you would've known this information had you been in attendance and you may have even passed your ridiculous plan if you pitched it yourself. Autumn responded.

"I figured you'd be against it, you and Navarro keep taking money out of defense," Colwell said, a slight wave of his hand was enough to dismiss Lucy who took her leave with his dog.

"We still have weapons in development, we're just reinforcing the base and building up living quarters first, and we can't do anything without a good food supply, and if you have a problem with this you should have been at the meeting to push for these things yourself instead of letting your third in command handle it."

"Why would I be wasting my time in a room talking when there's stuff out there that needs to be killed, we have our base set up and enemies outside it, we should be focused on killing them and reclaiming the wastelands for America."

"We can't do that without a stable food supply, your lust for expansionism is going to ruin us if we don't fortify our main operating base and invest in agricultural development so we may be more prosperous without the need for constant and needless bloodshed," Autumn said.

"First off, you know I work with big guns, not big words. I have maybe half an idea of what you're trying to tell me." Colwell began. "second off, shedding blood is only useless when it's ours, we should be in control of all of DC, we wouldn't need to give nearly as many damns about places and shit we'd have all the room we want."

"If only that was mentioned at the meeting earlier maybe you could have gotten some votes for your half-baked plan, as it is I know Eden and I would be happy to fill you in on all those things you also missed out, let's go to my office and we can discuss them, as well as your other responsibilities that you seem to be forgetting," Autumn said, not waiting for a response as he began marching to his office.

Colwell grumbled as he followed behind, as annoying as it was and as little as he wished for this autumn still pulled rank so he followed.

GOW

It felt like hours, Colwell sat in the room listening to Autumn's lectures, occasionally the General would forget something and Eden would chirp in from the intercom to remind him sparking another lecture from the General of the army.

The lectures have gone in a few directions, from the minutes of the earlier meeting, the lack of discipline Colwell always showed, his reckless behavior, all of Autumn's problems with the younger general were fair game for this "performance review" as Eden decided to call it after a while.

"I also can't believe you've kept all those cyber dogs under your control, It would be better if you gave them to a scout division so they could actually do something more useful," Autumn said, earning his first response in this entire meeting.

"I'm going to stop you right there, General. If you even think about reallocation of my division's cyberdogs you and I are going to have some real problems, and this nice office of yours is going to be the personal shit station for Sandy and his friends, do I make myself clear?" Fenrir said with a scowl, shocking Autumn.

"If I may interrupt Generals," Eden said. "General Colwell and General Navarro have already cleared the use of K-9s working for the Devil Dogs with myself, their redistribution can only be authorized by General Colwell and no other member of the Enclave, barring myself of course and I have no interest or intent of doing so, if you'd like more details behind this decision General Autumn you are more than happy to ask Generals Colwell, Navarro, or myself."

"Acknowledged sir." Autumn said with a scowl, "but thank you Colwell for reminding me about your lack of discipline and your need to act out for what you desire, you're a general Colwell you can't just act out whenever you damn well please, everyone in the Enclave is counting on you to do your job so that we all can survive, do you think I'm going to trust a subordinate whose mouthing off to me, missing mandatory meetings, and fucking around like a child? What would you do if one of your Devils did such a thing?" Autumn asked.

"Sir, none of my troops would do such a thing because they know they'd be shot if they did." Colwell said with a straight face

"And yet you think it's okay to act like that to me?"

"If you have a problem with me then demote me, I didn't ask to be a General but guess what? I'm the general of killing things so being out there is me doing my job."

"If I may interrupt Generals." Eden interrupted once more, "I'm the one who appointed both of you, both of you were vital in the migration to Raven rock and shall be indispensable in our re-establishing of American influence across the continent, both of you serve a purpose in high command, be it 'killing things' or organizing the armies of America, therefore I'd rather you not be fighting among each other especially when we still have many enemies across the globe for us to deal with."

The two generals grumbled a little, neither happy but both knowing that Eden wasn't wrong by any stretch of their imagination.

"Furthermore General Autumn, while you're assessment of General Colwell was not entirely inaccurate he is a general as well, he has every right to send Colonel Leal in his place for a majority of his duties as general even if it is preferable to be there In person. Both of you are important to the future of America and I'd rather you work together on your own accord, I can however mediate should the need ever arise again am I clear?"

"Yes sir." The Generals said, before anything else could happen an alarm blared through the room.

"Our meeting has to be cut short. An acid storm is approaching Raven Rock, go to the command center I'll summon the other generals." Eden said.

"Sir yes sir!" The two Generals said their anger at each other forgotten as they bolted out of the room.

"How many soldiers were out of the base?" Autumn asked.

"It was just me and two dogs on my mission I saw a handful of soldiers outside but they went back before we did, after I returned Tempest and a private went out but they've either already returned or Tempest saw the message on her PA and is dragging him back, with their the location they'll be here before any problems arise even if they're still outside, were any patrols or scout teams sent out recently?"

"Nothing scheduled, most of the military was resting today while we had the meeting to proceed. The ones who didn't were just around the mountain and would have heard the signal by now." Autumn replied.

"Good, now we just need to figure out how the hell to keep us alive in this rock," Colwell said.

The rest of the run passed in silence as the two Generals arrived at the command center, a decently sized room that the enclave high command met in whenever anything needed to be done, the room was normally sealed with a thick metal door, a table with six seats sat in the middle of the room and six computer terminals littered the walls with a single large screen up front for Eden.

"How long do we have before the storm is here," Autumn asked.

"Minutes at most, I've already sent the call for all personnel outside to return, all gates are being closed before the minute is up." Eden said, the two generals sat at their chairs as the doors opened for the others, a tall woman with Caramel skin, General Cornagi in charge of the air force, a short woman with pale skin, General Bruja in charge of intel, and a shorter man with hair way to well kept, General Rezz in charge of IA, all bolted in the room and took their seats.

"The population is bound to be nervous right now," Bruja said.

"When Navarro gets here have him Dispatch some Knights to take charge of the troops down there, I'll have Lucy take some of my dogs and do the same," Colwell said while typing away on his terminal.

"They better be kept on a short leash. I don't want to have any incidents during this panic." General Razz said with a scowl.

"Rivers and Leal will keep them in line, I have Ghost and Tempest manning the front door. They'll seal it until I say otherwise they're sending the other gate guards to spread out and man the other doors, we're shutting this base down now." Colwell responded.

"We can't afford any riots, tell all the soldiers to keep calm and make sure everyone is doing well, I move that Colwell be given full permission to discipline anyone who riles up the population or fires without reason, regardless of rank or squad affiliation all in favor?" Bruja asked to be met with a chorus of AYE from the room.

"Where the fuck is Navarro, I want internal lockdowns done soon as possible," Autumn asks.

"No clue sir I haven't seen him since the meeting earlier today," Cornagi responds.

"His PA is online, I'll patch him through to the room," Eden says a hum of static flowing through the room for a second.

"General, what's your location?" Autumn asked.

"I'm at the perimeter right now, I just finished sending people to check on the doors and am moving to check on the last ones." Navarro said over the walkie.

"Hell must be frozen over because I'm in a meeting and you aren't, what are we going to do even with the base closed this storm can fuck us over," Colwell said with a growl.

"There is a security feature in the base labeled SHIELD I have no data about its functions but it's labeled in case of emergency, once the doors all finish locking I can activate it and it may keep us safe from the acid storm," Eden said.

"Likely an old world force field." Autumn mused.

"Should beats nothing fire that fucker up," Colwell said.

"I can not, the upper East blast doors are jammed open and we cannot execute the command in the system with it open."

"What kind of idiot makes a shield you need the doors closed for!" Bruja asked.

"I'm next to that location, re-directing my path to close it," Navarro said.

"Negative Navarro, we'll send someone else there, get to central command now," Autumn said.

"No one else is close enough, the storm Is almost on top of us. I'll shut the door myself and the force field should protect me." Navarro said.

"Damn it Navarro get your ass back here I'll tell my dogs that are close to book it," Colwell said.

"I'm already there I can hold the door shut from the outside, Eden activate the program I'm getting this door locked down," Navarro said.

"Damn it! Ghost is already on his way, just wait for him and you two can work on it from the inside!" Colwell said.

"We don't have time! I can see the storm it's on top of us, Eden activate the Shield now!" Navarro said.

"You son of a bitch! I'm going over there to shut that door with you and beat your ass!" Colwell said standing up.

"Damn it, Colwell, sit your ass back down! We have one General out there we're not risking another, Navarro are you sure?" Autumn asked.

"Yes, do it now!"

"Very well, Eden, fire it up."

"The program requires a vote from the generals before I-"

"Do it now!" Navaro screamed on the air.

"Yes!"

"Aye!

"We don't have time, do it now!"

"Please sir!"

"No damn it!"

"Five out of six, the vote passed activating SHIELD protocol"

With the vote passed Eden activated the defense system and the mountain shook.

"You sons of bitches! Navarro If anything happens to you I will fucking kill you!" Colwell screeched as he fell to the ground. The mountain continued to shake harder and harder, an electrical hum drowning out any other sound from the mountain, inside it felt like the world was ending, outside one could see Raven Rock shake before the mountain vanished in a flash of light.
