Chapter 25

Take one step back, before you take two steps forward

November 24, 84CE

Avalon Cityship

The President's Office

One hour later. When Washu left via her dimensional door, she left Hayes a migraine the size of Avalon and a flash drive containing the Asgard's salvation or their slow spiral down to debauchery the way Washu describe it. He doesn't know, and hopefully the Asgard will know how to deal with this… gift, from the universe greatest scientist.

"Ms. Tohsaka"

"Yes Mr. President?"

"Could you please keep this conversation completely confidential" Hayes requested "In fact, don't write any report about this conversation for the association or anyone. Then, I will have this conversation classified, of course I am tempted to have it erase that particular part of my office recording later, for I do not want this getting out" Rin nodded in agreement

"I agree with you sir," she replied "this is too big and too dangerous an information to let it out in public"

"Thank you, Rin," Hayes leans back feeling exhausted as Rin pour some cold water on a glass and offer it to the president, which he accepted and allowed the thirst in him get soothed by nice cold water.

"So, what do we do now sir?"

"We need a reevaluate all of our plans if we are to live and grow in this, absurdly complex universe of ours of course" Hayes answered

"We need more people to help us secure our place in the galaxy for generations to come, and that means, we need the Tau'ri Alliance to grow in power and evolve if what Washu told us is true, then we need a stronger Starfleet than we have now and pick the right people to lead it" Hayes stood up and went back to his desk and call O'Neill and the others back in via the comm

"O'Neill, Maybourne get back in here"

"Yes sir" after that Hayes look to Rin again

"Fortunately, our friends other than the Juraians is willing to pitch in to help us, which I am more than grateful for them to come and help us because we need every help we can get"

"Washu seems to raise Mr. Saotome, in high regard" Rin observed

"She is," Hayes agrees "There is, an aura of power around Mr. Saotome that I felt when I first meet him years ago, and if you meet him, you'd know, he's no ordinary man and the reason why Ron regards him just as highly"

"I guess" Rin nods in agreement "Ron entrusted his son safety to him when he took him away from the Plants when Talia Gladys first died. His son, is actually enjoying of being martial arts trained"

"Like Father like Son I guess" Hayes remark in muse

"So, what now sir?"

"I am going to asks Mr. Saotome if he and his community can come and work with me" Hayes said "The man has more than one lifetime of experience which we will need here now more than ever"

When the door to the president office opened, O'Neill and Maybourne entered and Hayes called others for an emergency conference, and orders every project they planned to cancel to continue but with changes and expansion to what was originally planned.

"We need to make a call to the Asgard and tell them what is coming to Earth, also, make a call to Epsilon One and bring Ms. Clyne back to Earth" Hayes said

"Ms. Lacus Clyne?" O'Neill said

"We need to make a big show in front of this intergalactic power visiting us, so I need the entire Star Force fleet gathered here"

"In seven days?" O'Neill questioned

"That's not much time to gather everyone" Maybourne pointed out "most of the fleet is exploring our area of space via warp travel, mapping out every inch of space and marking resource rich sectors"

"I know we will be pressed for time, but we need to put everything on hold for now, and get that UN council back in that room right now because, I need to talk to those morons right now!" Hayes said

"Regarding Mr. Saotome and his people" O'Neill inquires "Sir, are you sure you want to introduce that brand of chaos back to the world again?"

"The way I see it Jack, this world is tethering on chaos already, and we need them to counter it with their brand of controlled chaos"

UN Council Hall

Half an hour later, Hayes informed the UN Security Council of a visiting dignitary from an intergalactic empire, and they are coming in three days' time.

"Information is being delivered to you now, so I suggest you get your people start familiarizing with Jurai very fast" Hayes said

Just then the sound and lights of an Asgard beaming flash before their eyes revealing Freya and members of Lacus Clyne advance party which startled everyone except for Hayes.

"Greetings, Mr. President" Freya greeted

"Freya, good to see you arrive fast"

"I was concerned of overshooting Earth via hyperspace, so I opted lightspeed travel which you call warp in low-speed travel"

"Oh, interesting" Hayes remark as he looks to the others in the and to fellow world leader whose expression is surprise to see a real Alien that's a dead ringer to 'Roswell Grey' an American Pop culture on aliens that crash in Roswell New Mexico.

What is also new, is that Freya is wearing what looks like a version of the female version of the Roman Toga called Stola and Palla and as far as everyone knows, Asgard don't wear clothes. Also…

'Is Freya a little bit taller than before' Hayes thought' Of course, Hayes has no time to ask about that right now

"I brought them here as you requested, and the Asgard Council orders me to inform you personally that, a delegation will arrive within the hour to represent the Asgard Empire. I am here to assist you whatever I can"

"Most appreciated Freya, thank you" Hayes then look to Ms. Clyne

"Ms. Clyne"

"Y-Yes, Mr. President"

"I would like a favor from you"

"A favor, from me Mr. President?" Lacus mind was racing while everyone seems shock of what's happening as Hayes explain

"The UN is in need of a Secretary-General and by overwhelming vote of the Security Council, you are hereby elected to the office as the head of the UN"

"WHAT?"

The Secretary-General contributes actively to the implementation of the responsibility to protect principle through this good offices, briefings to the inter-governmental bodies of the United Nations and the work of the different departments that compose the Secretariat on issues related to early warning, conflict prevention, human rights, cooperation with regional organizations, political engagement with member states, capacity building, electoral assistance, mediation, administering peacekeeping/peacebuilding/political missions etc.

In particular, the Secretary-General is mandated to bring issues or situations threatening the maintenance of peace and security, including those where atrocity crimes are likely to occur or are ongoing, to the attention of other United Nations organs.

"Me? You are asking me Mr. President, to be Secretary-General of the UN?"

"The position has not been filled yet and the role of Secretary-General of the UN has increased its importance far more than anything before. And, by unanimous decision, this council has voted you to the office" Hayes said and gave a deep sigh

"I, had hope to accomplish what I set out to do before I pass on the responsibility to my successor. Unfortunately, circumstances forced me to initiate drastic measures. Measures, that will stifle most of the development of Sol, indefinitely"

"I was told that, you canceled several UN programs and you had SGC pull out teams that came from this council…as well as people, scientist, doctors, engineers from other countries, banned from the program" she said inquiring

"That I did Ms. Clyne" Hayes confirmed and by the look on Lacus, she would have argued but knows well enough not to. Trust was broken when Zaft and Orb try to steal from the Atlantic Federation. Now, what is broken, needs to be mended and it's not going to be easy.

"I understand Mr. President, I will do what you have asks me" Lacus replied

"Mr. President… why choose me of all people and, are you dissolving the current structure of the UN Security Council?" Lacus asks and he replies back

"Well Ms. Clyne, you have done administrative work before in the Plants, this is no different but far more important than leading a group of colonies. Then there is also optics"

"Optics? I don't understand Mr. President"

"I am making you, the face of the United Nations Ms. Clyne. The United Nations represents all of Earth nations and its people and you will represent the United Nations. Furthermore," Hayes look towards his fellow world leaders.

"Agreements, that were made in order to establish this organization to preserve peace, are either unfulfilled or ignored…which brings us to reverting the Security Council back to its original form. This, is a step back," Hayes pause before he spoke again

"To step forward, you guys will have to show us sincere changes were made, and not just to us, but to the Tau'ri Alliance"

"President Hayes words speaks truth" Freya finally said as she looks towards them and they all feel apprehension looking at the alien no bigger than a five- or seven-year-old with that huge head and eyes that they could feel that she's looking thru them.

"We, the Asgard are not amused of the outrageous theft committed by these rogues, which may or may not be, your subordinates, yet they represent you and your county and your responsibility" her words felt like accusations that they wanted something like that to happen and were about protest when Hayes spoke up before it descends into shouting

"Be careful with your emotions everyone, Asgard are by nature, are emphatic"

"Emphatic?" said by one of the leaders not understanding what that meant so Hayes give them an example

"Any of you watched, Star Trek TNG? Well, she's like counselor D'eanna Troi who is, Half Human and half Betazed. She is, an empath, like Freya" Hayes said smiling which every leader felt horrified.

Empathic, Empathy, Empath was the capacity to understand and feel the feelings and emotions of another person from their perspective or point of view. It could also refer to a type of extrasensory perception in which one can directly detect the emotions of another; such an individual was known as an empath. Empathic powers were often associated with telepathy.

"You mean, s-she can read our minds?"

"No, what I can is sense and read your emotions. of course, we are capable of telepathy, we just don't use it often as it is somewhat…exhausting to use" Freya answered him as Freya narrowed her eyes at the man which, is freaking him out.

Everyone, became very silent as they seated back and sweating profusely because there is an alien with the ability to literally read the room like a book thru their emotions.

"In this galaxy, you will find races and species who are just as capable of reading your emotions and thoughts better than the Asgard. So. be mindful"

"Meaning, you can't deceive an Asgard" Lacus added

"Oh, the Asgard won't read your minds without permission, but they can read your emotions quite well. So, I suggest you all be honest with yourselves and with them. We sure have, for ten years working with them. Quite honestly, it worked well for us" Hayes said smug

"Henry," Freya look back to Hayes and giving him an admonishing look

"Sorry," Hayes apologize as Freya huff

"Some, of their people do try to be…deceitful. They are mostly politicians and over ambitious leaders with ambitious dreams, or is it, delusions of grandeur. Ones, that we will not waste our time attending or associating with" Freya said as Freya look around and her gaze was lock on to the Plants Supreme Council Chairwoman, Eileen Canaver but only for a moment.

"For now, we must focus of our attention is this Jurian visit," Hayes said grabbing everyone attention

"The visiting delegates is on a 'meet and greet' mission to Earth namely visiting the Atlantic Federation. In all honesty, I am having a very strong reservation in letting anyone else attend" to the other leaders, a myriad of emotion going right thru them

"Mr. President, you can't do that!" Cagalli protested

"And why not?"

"We have as much as right to be there, to represent everyone on Earth"

"And that alone, is the only reason why I am letting any of you attend!" Hayes said back yelling which they all quieted down

"The universe, is knocking on our front door everyone, and as of right now, we are still at each other's throats with one reason or another and individuals with their own axe to grind and on the wayside, people who cares nothing, but exploit the moment to benefit themselves!" Hayes yelled in frustration.

"We can become more if we put more effort in making a change for the better. What that is, it can be many things" Hayes then pointed out

"This United Nation, can become more than it is now…if only we can be united…a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand" Hayes remark

"Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States of America" Freya said as the Asgard turn and look towards the other leader of Earth and the space colonies who are surprised by her knowledge of history.

"Words of wisdom speaks truth, more than they are now," Freya turns to look at them

"You are still a world divided, and a world divided is a world that cannot stand against the many forces and power across this vast universe. Many of them, they care little of the lives of others not their own. Many are vicious and cruel, and when they see you, they will see a world divided, a weak world waiting to be invaded, exploited and ravaged" said Freya warningly,

Freya words sink in like lead weights drop in the ocean and Hayes let it for a minute or two before he spoke up to pull them out of their thoughts

"All relevant data on Jurai is pass on, so I suggest you begin studying them now before they arrive in seven days" Hayes said as he dismisses the council and went their separate ways.

In conversation with Lacus and the others, Freya was introduced to Plants representatives at the embassy in the cityship. O'Neill was there as chaperone to Freya and by looking around, he noticed that, they are very nervous, for this is the first time they meet a real alien, an ally of SGC and one of the powerful races in the galaxy

After a short introduction and Freya asking straight to the point of why they are meeting in private

"Have you implemented the genetic repairs we offered you, Chairwoman Canaver?"

"The DNA repair data?"

"My people, was the one who research your infertility problem, with the assistance of the people on Epsilon One, we created the means to repair your DNA, and with all honesty, I have never seen so many gene resequencing mistakes, fatal flaws due to faulty procedures and forced integration and incomplete work been done on your genome sequence" Freya bluntly stated

"The certainty of your people extinction was all ninety-eight percent guaranteed" Freya declared and that caused a shocker

"That was your data and…n-ninety-eight percent!?" Chairman Canaver exclaimed as everyone was stunned to hear that the data came from an Asgard. Chairman Canaver look to Lacus and her friends who went to Epsilon and they look grim looking as Lacus explained

"Freya, is one of the Asgard who examines the Reborn Coordinators on Epsilon One and compared it to the DNA samples from people in the Plants. She is also the one who develop the genetic repairs needed to be done to avert our extinction"

"It was you?" the look to Freya and she nodded in acknowledgement

"President Hayes wishes to use it as, 'a bargaining chip' according to him, in order to persuade your cooperation with him, in the defense of Earth from Anubis" Freya says

"He did use it" the chairman confirmed scowling at the idea Henry Hayes was planning "he wanted Zaft to fight by their side against Anubis, but unfortunately, events out of our control resulted in the loss of Zaft military power"

"Most unfortunate" Freya remark "We have been informed of what had happened. However, I wish to confirm of what you have done to the repair data you received from us"

"Uhmn, well…" she trailed off, hesitating to answer

"Our scientists have evaluated the data, I mean your data" she corrected "the means to stabilize our DNA is remarkable, however," the leader of the Plants, chairwoman Canaver felt reluctant to continue

"However?" Freya waited

"Your conclusion and options you gave… us… are…not a feasible answer"

"I see" looking at Freya, they don't know her feelings were hurt, confused or somewhat offended of what chairman Canaver was saying. Practically waited a whole minute and then Freya raise her right hand where a jewel of some sort is on and then it projected a holographic photo of a report from the Plants geneticist lab, Eyes Only for the Plants chairwoman eyes.

Canaver recognize it immediately, which reads

"…in conclusion, the data sent by the Atlantic Federation president is a work done by a mediocre geneticist at best, amateurish and inferior at worst, who is focused too much in resetting with minor to no contribution for the stability and continuity of coordinator DNA" For Freya, that felt like an insult,

A BIG insult

'OH! SHIT!' exclaimed in thoughts in everyone in that

Freya turn off her hologram and look toward the chairwoman with slit eyes "So, you think that my work…is mediocre, amateurish and inferior at worst?" like the words were foreign to Freya vocabulary

"Uhmn," Canaver swallowing hard, profusely sweating like everyone in the which is strange because the AC is set at 23 degrees Celsius

"How did you, that's classified infor-" Canaver was about to asks when

"I ask Mr. Sterling to look for any information on what happen to the data I sent to you" Freya just answered which very much annoyed them to no end. Zaft counterintelligence is unable to catch or stop his activities.

At one time, Ron Sterling, a.k.a. the Grimm Reaper, sent several tons of used and soiled Men's Underwear strewn all over the Council Hall, the most secured room in the Plants. The room reeks for a week and had to replace every furniture and items and then fumigate it several times and cause them anxiety and paranoia to no end.

"Of course, we were not that surprised of your reaction to the data we sent you. However, your scientists are using the data right this moment, despite being criticized as… mediocre.

"Wait, they are actually using it despite the uhh, uhmn?" Freya look towards Lacus, and she hesitated in continuing the sentence as not to offend Freya any more than she already is

"What I sent you has the complete analysis of your DNA, along with all possible pathways and options to prevent genetic degradation, but those were in order to begin the reset of your DNA. They should have known, that creating a separate branch of human, with very little genetic diversity is courting disaster" Freya said and thought she spoke in a calm tone, the words were loud.

"All of my data was in order for you to rebuild your DNA back to baseline DNA because, the continued manipulation, and augmentation to preserve what was changed is no longer advisable" Freya said shook her head with a deep sigh and mutter something in Asgard language that no one can understand, but they are sure enough that it was her disapproval of them.

"You found losing certain traits of being a coordinator… unacceptable"

In the Asgard investigation research, it shows that they still have a chance to reverse their inevitable fate, but there is no quick fix as it requires generations until finally, they are capable of sexual reproduction on their own.

"Do your people frown upon children being born no different than those born to baseline population? Do you see them a lesser child compare to your coordinator borne children?" Freya inquires

"No, it's not, it's not that simple for us, I mean commander Freya!" chairman Canaver said back defensively as she felt like she was saying they were discriminating children born natural which honestly, many of them are but won't admit it openly

"We needed an alternative to stabilize our genome but,"

"What I gave you, was part of a means to stabilize your DNA, but it is the first step of a long process of repairing the damages done. It cannot be corrected in one generation until you are finally capable bearing your own children once again thru procreation!" Freya sounded like she was angry

"What…it was part of the data but," chairwoman Canaver find it strange because the geneticist who analyzed says nothing of stabilizing coordinator DNA. She felt that, she was being lied to.

"The data, was done with careful research, all based on the examination of the reborn coordinators and the children born from them, and it is the reason why they now bare healthy babies without inheriting their genetic flaws that your own scientists have recklessly caused. However, their situation is different to yours, and for some reason, replicating the accident that brought them back to life, is unsuccessful"

Freya took a step forward and look up to the chairman "Your people need to take a step back, before it's too late" Freya urged then someone, a male member of the chairman staff replied

"If we do that… us coordinators will be ridiculed, our pride as a new species will be,"

Freya snapped at the man speaking "Your species is humanity, genetically engineered or not, you are one people. And, your pride is meaningless in the face of extinction!"

"How would you know?!"

"BECAUSE, ONCE UPON A TIME, WE THE ASGARD… WE WERE JUST LIKE YOU!" now she got loud

That sudden admittance, pretty much shock everyone in disbelief including Lacus and Kira, who is with her

"Freya, you never told us this" Lacus said shaken

"This is not something my people would talk with other races Ms. Clyne" Freya answered somber

"Every means you use to save your branch of humanity is doom to fail if you forcibly continue to manipulate your genome to preserve your coordinator traits. What measures you have, the marriage law with baseline humans can only go so far as to stave off the inevitable but never the solution" Freya look toward Kira

"We have done thousands of simulations using the current process you are using and the outcome is still the same, like the Ultimate Coordinator program," Freya declared which shook Kira

"Before you were born Mr. Yamato, hundreds maybe even thousands of your siblings were sacrificed in your father quest to create the Ultimate Coordinator, you are one success out of thousands" that reminder very much a stab in the heart as he's being reminded of his origin. How they knew about that was a question he wants to know

"How could," Kira stuttered in asking

"We had access to Dr. Ulen Hibiki classified research files thru SGC, and if you are to Replicate the same process now even with improvements, it's still hundreds lost, for one viable child to come into terms, and even then, a child born, one hundred percent inheriting all the traits, the skills and abilities of their parents…it is still a flawed process"

"Flawed?" said Kira a confused

Freya explained, that there is a high degree for the child to have an imbalance in their mental, emotional and psychological, an instability, evolving to a superiority complex and at times, unwanted traits would reappear, including physical deformities.

she then looks back to the chairman that she looks horrified as Freya continues

"The defunct Destiny Plan: it could have stabilized your species, but it would have also limited you, or should I say, lock you to inherit only the skill and abilities of their parents in a genetic caste system. Though their genome would never deteriorate, neither will you progressed, to evolve to go beyond that, nor become anything than what was inherited or genetically locked" then Freya told them of the Asgard with sadness

"As a race, we the Asgard reproduces exclusively thru enhanced cellular mitosis and nothing else" Freya admitted

"You have no means of propagation?" Lacus asks as she couldn't believe what she just heard, as Kira was a bit confused of what that means

"They are clones, all of them" Lacus explained

"Clones, like Le Crueset?"

"No" Freya quickly answered and correct that assumption "Asgard clones are empty shells prepared to be download with an Asgard consciousness. It is how we survive for so long"

"Thru cloning we have achieved a measure of immortality, as each body fails, the consciousness of an Asgard is transferred to a newer, younger version of oneself. Unfortunately, the lack of genetic diversity has become a problem for us" Freya said and Kira look to Lacus confused of what Freya means by that, and felt worried that they find it mirroring theirs.

"It's like… making a copy of a copy of a copy. Eventually, there is deterioration" Lacus answered

"We created a process of controlled mutation, which has helped us avoid complete genetic breakdown. But we are at the limits of our technical capabilities. It is our only means of survival, for my people are no longer capable of cell division thru miosis"

"Sexual reproduction!" Chairman Canaver understood and was horrified at that idea

"Thru genetics, the last child, born an Asgard was a thousand years ago. We are no longer able to reproduce… for a thousand years" Freya said

"A thousand years" muttered by someone with disbelief in their tone

"The Asgard are dying" Kira remark in revelation

"Yes… Mr. Yamato, the Asgard are dying" Freya confirmed grimly

"For now, we have halted our genetic deterioration with the aid of SGC and others, as we are trying desperately to find other means for our survival or return to a time before we began the genetic manipulation of my race. If there is no hope for us…then we choose death"

"You would willingly choose death?!" the chairman exclaimed in shock at the final choice if all means failed

"As someone once said, 'we have dug our own grave, it was now time to for us to lie down in it' and when that time comes, we will willingly embrace it"

It felt like an eternity, where no one was speaking, where you can hear the humming sound of the cityship engines coming deep beneath the bulkhead until chairman Canaver broke the silence

"Forgive me, I-I am…lost for words" chairman Canaver said shaking to the point of crying

"However, your problem has not yet reached that point yet. For me at least, I would say…It is not too late for you… to take a step back" Freya said

"But I- I can't just, we can't just can't go back, it would" chairman stutters in saying the worlds she wishes to say, but it was enough for Freya to know, and it dismay her

"It was the hope of your kins, that you would see reason but," Freya was about to turn his back to them when chairman Canaver calls out

"Please wait!" Freya stops and look back

"We could help each other, we could" Freya quickly cut her off

"We have done what we can for you. If you wish to continue this path, then it is your choice to make, and no else will make it for you"

"But we could help each other, we"

"No" Freya rejectingly answered the chairman

"No?" the chairman and the others don't know why

"You cannot help us, and we have no obligation to help you, and what was given to you was done out of favor to an ally of the Asgard people, and the consensus of the Asgard people agrees, that we have given you more than enough to save yourselves. You are treading on a path that my people have walk on, and it is a path that we wish no race to tread on" she says.

Everyone felt solemn and dejected. But it wasn't over

"Chairman Canaver, everyone" Freya speaks to everyone

"Look, at what my people have become, this is what our hubris turns us into" she declared gesturing to herself

"Do you think, that we are born, looking like this?" Freya asks them

"What?"

They all look at Freya as Freya explains the fate of the Asgard

"In the beginning, a plague, ravage my race to the point of extinction, so we turn to our genetic manipulation to save ourselves strengthen our bodies and we survived and thrived. As time passes, we wanted more, we wanted exceed, we wanted to excel. We wanted to be the superior species in every way. To surpass our allies, especially the Ancients, and all known races across the galaxy and for a time we were, and then…as someone once said 'everything went south' for us, when our birthrate were dropping at a staggering rate, in natural means or in our science.

We have become sterile" Freya exclaimed

"The Asgard survival, rest in our means of controlled mutation of this clone body, but it carries a heavy price" she said and adds

"For thirty thousand years this body has been the only thing that kept us alive, and now thousands of years later, tens of thousands of clones later, our bodies have deformed to this sorry state, to the point that… it no longer has a gender, that we, are now the height and size of a seven-year-old child where we once were the average height of a full-grown human, now we are like this. Despite our superior intellect, a cure, still eludes us" Freya said as everyone took in everything Freya say and its it is starting to scare them, in the realization that the Asgard were once like them.

Once, like them.

"We, are losing so many things that you have taken for granted. The sense of taste or smell, the feel of bitter cold, the warmth of the sun or the sense of touch with another. Soon, this body will fail us, but before that happens, the Asgard people will choose death by suicide along with the total destruction of everything that is...Asgard" Freya lower her arms and turn her back on them and gave one last word.

"Maybe your fate is different than ours…it could still be possible for you to save yourselves. It is, still your choice to make and no one will make it for you"

"Uh Freya" Jack O'Neill got her attention and gesture to his watch which means 'we are late for a meeting' but then, there was no meeting in the itinerary. O'Neill just wants to stop Freya from tormenting the others

"Understood, O'Neill" she responds and gave them one last word of advice

"I hope, you make a wise choice," and with that, Freya and O'Neill walk out of the Embassy

"Well, that didn't go well" O'Neill remark and Freya only shook her head as they walk back to the president office

"They are stubborn. But then, humans do tend to be too stubborn sometimes"

"You could have help them if you want to"

"We could do that O'Neill, but that would be revealing advances that we are not willing to share with people who refuse to own their mistakes and keep it a secret from the very people that trusted them" Freya replied as Freya look up to O'Neill and though he can't read Asgard facial expression, he knows that Freya is distressed.

"I see them, as I once saw my own people so long ago" she said

"The means to repair their DNA, is achievable at their current level of knowledge, and they are already using it to preserve the traits that makes them a coordinator with adding baseline human DNA. Still, every analysis and predictions all leads to the continued deterioration of their genome, to the point of no return if they persist on that path. Worst yet, they could inadvertently create a vile creature, like Rau Le Creuset"

"Is that possible?" O'Neill asks sounding concerned

"Like I said to them, they focus too much the inherent skill and abilities. To exceed on what baseline human is capable of, enhance physical traits and not enough focus on the mental, emotional and psychological aspect. They are now on the edge of an imbalance, and there will be instability in one form or another"

Freya stop for a moment and look back towards the Plants residence which is now in turmoil thanks to Freya revelation

"Freya?" O'Neill look at Freya wondering what she's feeling

"They remind me too much of my people once was, which is…a very painful reminder for me and for all of Asgard" Freya sounded sad and then a sense of anger

"Their scientists, they are unwilling to admit their mistakes and kept on performing genetic manipulation which they know, is a flawed process. Well, I am not about to let them off the hook so easily, nor will I forgive them in calling me… an amateur and my work they judge as, mediocre"

'Of course, you wouldn't' O'Neill thought deadpanned 'Oh yeah, she's definitely pissed'

Freya shook her head in disappointment and remark "They need to, 'take one step back, before you take two steps forward' O'Neill" which made O'Neill smile at the human reference

"Well, we all have to take a step back sometimes if we have to move forward, I guess" O'Neill remark in agreement and continued walking, until they pass by one of the restaurants that's allowed to operate in Avalon.

Just as they pass by, O'Neill could have sworn he heard a really loud stomach grumbling and it wasn't him. Freya stops and ask O'Neill a favor

"O'Neill, could we stop by the restaurant, I am craving for some strawberry flavored ice cream; they are my favorite" Freya said which puzzles O'Neill

"You guys have a favorite human food? Wait! You can't eat human food?!" he exclaims in disbelief

"This, is a new prototype clone body O'Neill," Freya answered

"I am testing this new body capable of actually smelling and tasting and have the means to eat real food and not those…unpalatable things." Freya felt a shiver thru his spine when she remembers the sensation of her throwing up the so-called, Asgard Food. The modest digestive system of the new body revolted and demanded more palatable ones and luck has it, she had stored some of SGC MRE or, Meal Ready to Eat packets left behind by SG-1 at one time in one of their missions.

An hour later, and a dozen or two spent MRE packets, Freya felt incredibly content.

Then afterwards, she programmed the ship fabricators to quickly build her a privy for her first stomach upset due to over eating and some clothes in the design of ancient roman fashion for women and also, some underwear. Freya for once in a long, she conscientious of herself.

"This, is the fruits of my labor, as I was able to reverse our deterioration, at least for now, some of the things we lost, we have regained a little, thanks to the examination I made to the reborn Coordinators"

"Cool" O'Neill remark

So, they headed to the restaurant for lunch, where to the amusement of O'Neill, he had Freya, endure the abject embarrassing position of using in a child seat while O'Neil took a video
