For the first time since WWII ended, Japan was facing a war. The nation was in a state of high alert with the entirety of the military and capable civilians mobilizing. The attack from Dahan was confirmed to happen within three days and their naval forces were no joke.

When the nation of China split into two separate parts, the part that became Dahan held very little of the technological and industrial prowess that North China did. However, the fact that the Kunlunfang Institute, which held almost all of the magic resources that the former nation of China held, helped them remain free from North China which would then go on and become the Great Asian Alliance. Even still, Dahan held a considerable number of militarily trained individuals but were without the industrial support to make good use of them. With the support of the GAA, Dahan managed to overcome this limitation.

An invading force of over twenty-five thousand people had been confirmed to have boarded the various warships supplied to Dahan by the GAA. This was easily the single largest army fielded in a single fight since WWIII had begun. Although the Great Asian Alliance had not formally joined the war, it was evident to everyone that they were waiting for the results to pounce on whoever would be left.

In the headquarters for the Japanese Army, the Chief of Staff, Joint Staff was briefing some of the highest-ranking figures in the country.

"Our current prediction is that Dahan is planning a three-way attack with their targets being, Yokohama, Okinawa, and Tokyo. The trajectory of the naval vessels suggests that half of the entire force will attack Tokyo while the remaining half will try and take the other two cities." Yoshihide Yoshida, who served as the Chief of Staff reported.

Yoshihide was a part of the Yoshida clan who were practitioners of ancient magic but had taken a different route in life. He had enlisted in the army before magic had become a mainstream thing and it took him nearly four decades to reach the very top of Japan's Military pyramid.

"Our Naval resources are just enough to put up a serious fight in Tokyo but we will need to pursue land defense in the remaining cities. That is if they only attack those two. However, Okinawa is currently looking like a lost cause. We cannot reliably mobilize enough forces for a viable defense within a three-day time frame." Yoshihide said.

"So, you are telling that we need to cede our lands to these foreigners, again?" Hiroshi Tanaka was a veteran soldier who had reached the position of Lieutenant General after a long career in the front lines. He was barely containing his anger at the suggestion.

"Lieutenant General Tanaka, I can understand your anger but we are currently helpless. If we try to spread our forces too thin, we will end up losing everything. That is what the Great Asian Alliance is aiming at as well." Yoshihide calmly explained.

"How high are our chances of victory." The Prime Minister of Japan, Akira Yamamoto who was by far the youngest in the room, spoke for the first time.

"If we go on with our current plan, we are predicted to have a ninety percent chance of defending the mainland. Dahan's military might be large in number but they are mainly armed with low-tech weaponry."

Before Yoshihide could continue, one of his secretaries interrupted the conference. Soon after talking to her, Yoshihide excused himself before leaving the room. He returned after five minutes.

"Chief Yoshida, what was so urgent that you had to interrupt such an important meeting?" Tanaka asked.

"We have received word from the Ten Master Clan Conference. They said that they would be helping the army in the defense. The Yotsuba have informed us that they will defend Okinawa by themselves." Yoshihide reported.

None of the people present were stupid enough to criticize the Yotsuba even though there was a general feeling among them that the Yotsuba was partly in fault for the current situation. Yotsuba Ayame's ways of dealing with dissent were scary even for jaded veterans like them.

"That means we will only need to focus on our main objective. The chances of the TMC failing is slim to none." Yoshihide said calmly. "Well, there is the matter of mounting a retaliatory attack but that can be put on hold until we can see through the current predicament." He continued.

With the military fully mobilized and ready, Prime Minister Yamamoto made an official announcement to the nation confirming that they were officially at war with Dahan. The die had been cast and there was no going back now.

Tokyo

Dahan's entry into Tokyo Bay had started a fierce fight between the two naval forces. Due to a lack of maritime combat experience, the Japanese Navy was slowly pushed back until a portion of Dahan's forces were granted entry into the city of Tokyo. Magicians as well as military personnel were trying hard to keep the invading forces from gaining any ground but the inexperience among them had created an opening that the experienced military of Dahan was able to make use of. This had caused mass panic among the fighters. So, when a large number of people started to run, no one noticed a shadowy figure standing firm against the tide of people.

Tatsuya watched as his fellow countrymen ran away from the torrent of gunfire. He silently wondered if he would have been like them if he hadn't been who he was. With a large number of the defending forces scrambling and the remaining either caught up in a fight or near death, Tokyo should have been a goner. However, Tatsuya had other plans.

He slowly raised Trident against the invaders and pulled the trigger. A thousand people disappeared at once. For a moment, silence encompassed the deadly battlefield as everyone took a moment to register what just happened in front of them. Before anyone could say anything, Tatsuya pulled the trigger again and another thousand disappeared.

When he was in his old body, the maximum number of entities that Tatsuya could decompose in a single instance was twenty-five. This number was raised to two hundred fifty when not under the influence of Pledge and Five Hundred when he wasn't using a chunk of his consciousness on guarding Miyuki. Even still, the fact that his current body was able to reach double that number was something that surprised even him.

The reaction to the fiasco was mixed. The Japanese side gained a little hope while the Dahan soldiers were understandably scared. Tatsuya soon pulled out a second CAD which looked exactly like the Trident that had Regrowth installed into it and pulled the trigger once again. While his General CAD was more than enough to utilize both Decomposition and Regrowth together, Tatsuya was well aware of the visual impact that the Divine Left and Demon Right held. It would be beneficial for his image in the long run. What happened next would be the stuff of legends for years to come.

Almost all of the wounded soldiers slowly rose from the ground like zombies coming back from the dead. All of the soldiers who had been gravely wounded were brought back from the clutches of Death as if they had never been injured in the first place.

If the mass death of their comrades didn't break Dahan's soldiers, this managed to do that. The battle was completely one-sided in favor of the Japanese from there on. Any semblance of resistance from Dahanese soldiers was met with the overwhelming violence of Tatsuya. The soldiers who remained on the land, now less than a meager thousand compared to the ten thousand that had made it to the city, surrendered soon after. Although the Japanese army was initially scared that the enigmatic figure that helped them would not accept surrender, Tatsuya made no move which allowed the officers to tie up the invaders.

Tatsuya then immediately cast Mist Dispersion on the enemy vessels which were located a mile out in the sea, officially ending the invasion of Tokyo.

Tatsuya, however, wasn't done yet and immediately opened a gate to Yokohama where he proceeded to do the exact same thing as he did in Tokyo. The subjugation of Dahan's military forces was easy over there since a large number of magicians from the Ten Master Clans as well as the Hundred Families were present there.

Okinawa Islands. Two hours later.

Out of the three targets that they had in Japan for the purpose of invasion, the tiny island of Okinawa was one that they felt was the easiest to get their hands on. After all, Okinawa had no standing navy and was very sparsely populated while being at a strategic location. At least that was what Lieutenant General Li Wei had been told before he took charge of the Thirteenth Fleet. In theory, it should have been as easy as taking candy from a baby and they were right to an extent as the Japanese made no effort to stop them as they made landfall. However, he did not expect that the Japanese were luring them to a slaughterhouse. As he watched his subordinates get slaughtered, he cursed everyone who had put him up to this task.

The Yotsuba had always been a clan that was feared across the world when Ayame was in charge. After all, no one wanted to deal with that den of monsters for no reason. When Genzou had taken over the family and steered them to a different light, a few of the outside forces thought that the Yotsuba was weakening. This was the main reason why Maya was almost kidnapped. However, the calm faces of the Yotsuba Main Family as well as their relatives as they slaughtered the invaders with the ease of slaughtering chickens would serve as a reminder for anyone in the future to not mess with them. Over six thousand people had stepped foot in Okinawa almost all of them were dead now with only a few of the higher-ranked of the invaders remaining.

"Motosuke, that's enough." Genzou's voice rang through the desolate battlefield. While he held no sympathy for these animals that tried to hurt his daughter, he had to keep a few of them alive for trial.

As Motosuke and the rest of his family helped to tie up the remaining enemy Genzou quietly looked at an overview of their current situation. Out of the hundred people that had joined the Yotsuba in the fight, all of them had somehow survived, with much help from the Juumonji clan. Genzou made a mental note to thank Akihito for the help personally. As he was contemplating his next course of action, a rather strange portal opened up near him and a shadowy figure walked through it.

When Genzou said that the figure was shadowy, he meant that he could not seem to make out any of the finer details of the person. Something was blocking his senses from working against them.

'Sensory Interference Magic?' Genzou thought as he cautiously looked at the new arrival.

"I see that you are done here as well. As I would expect of the Yotsuba." The figure said. The person's voice was unlike anything Genzou had ever heard from a human. It sounded like a glitched machine was trying to speak human language.

"Who are you?" By now Genzou had his CAD pointed towards this mysterious arrival.

"Who I am does not matter. You will find your answers soon enough. Since there isn't anything for me to do here, I will take my leave." The figure said before another portal opened up near it.

"Wait! Were you the one who saved Maya?" Genzou asked.

"I am. What of it?" The figure replied.

"I see. I wanted to thank you for saving my daughter." Genzou bowed his head which seemed to have caught the figure off-guard.

"Pay it no heed. What I did was ultimately more beneficial to the world as well. I will be taking my leave now." He said before he entered the portal and left.

Yotsuba Genzou was someone that Tatsuya had only heard of in legends. The man died long before Tatsuya had been born in Dahan. However, everyone who had lived during Genzou's era had nothing but praise for the deceased head of the clan. Now that he met his former Grandfather in person, Tatsuya could say that he understood why Genzou was held in such high regard.

A leader capable of lowering his pride for the sake of his family was a good one in Tatsuya's opinion.

Setting aside his meeting with the Yotsuba Head, Tatsuya had a more pressing issue. In the original timeline, the Yotsuba's culling of the Kunlunfang Institute had been a cornerstone of the fall of Dahan and the formation of the GAA. As much as Tatsuya disliked the GAA, their absorbing Dahan was a necessary evil to keep the New Soviet Union in check. This meant that Dahan had to be crippled one way or another. After pondering for a while, he came to the conclusion that he had to do it himself since the Yotsuba wouldn't do it anymore.

This led to him opening a portal directly to Dahan. Although he could cast Material Burst in Dahan from Japan, he needed to provide some sort of visual confirmation that he was the one who did it. After all, Japan needed a deterrent against foreign powers like Maya had been in his own timeline and he didn't think that there was anyone else better suited for the job.

Tatsuya had been extra cautious to ensure that his figure was seen by multiple image recording devices, both civilian and military since he needed the world to be aware of the destruction, he was capable of. 'Charade' ensured that the images they captured would only show a shadowy figure with no specific features that could be used to trace it back to him. Therefore, it would not be an issue for his daily life.

Tatsuya walked directly into the city of Quanzhou. His target was a subsidiary lab of the Kunlunfang Institute. There were several high-quality magic sensory cameras installed in the lab which served his purpose very well. After he completely erased everyone that he knew of that was connected to the Institute, from existence, he cast his ultimate magic.

Material Burst was a difficult spell for Tatsuya to use. The sheer amount of information he had to analyze when turning tiny amounts of matter into pure energy was astronomical. However, Material Burst was a paradox among Modern Magic when it came to one thing, the bigger the boom, the smaller the amount of work for him.

Unlike most Modern Magic spells that used more energy when cast at a larger scale, Material Burst was easier on Tatsuya the bigger the target was. Targeting a small drop of water from a distance was harder for him to do the same to a tank from the same distance. Therefore, the fact that he could rampage all he wanted without fear of damaging friendly forces was a huge boon to Tatsuya.

It took him less than a tenth of a second to identify six different locations across the Nation of Dahan that would serve as a reminder. It took him just as much time to activate his magic.

And then, The Sun descended upon the Nation of Dahan.

Gigantic explosions that were visible from space even were seen dotting the nation. The ones who were caught in the explosion were lucky, they were gone in an instant without pain. The others who were not so lucky would spend the rest of their life in fear that they would be next.

In each of his targeted areas, Tatsuya had concerted 1 kg of mass into energy. Following Einstein's formula of E=Mc^2, that meant that each one of those explosions held the equivalent force of 21480754 tons of TNT. Dahan was never going to recover. With his job done, Tatsuya quietly made his way to Japan. His parents had been moved to a shelter in the underground of Tokyo and he quietly joined them as the warnings were called off and they were allowed to make their way back to their home.

Future historians would refer to this day as the O-Dayne War. An event that got the ball rolling towards the end of World War III. As a result of this event, the superpowers across the continents would enter into an unconditional armistice. Dahan lost almost all of its military strength and would soon be assimilated into the Great Asian Alliance. This was also the day when the hunt for the weapons of mass destruction known as Strategic-class magicians truly began.

As for that mysterious figure who made it all happen, he would be called many names across many nations but none as more fitting as 'The Demon King of The Far East' or 'Maheshwara, the God of Destruction'. For Tatsuya however, this was just the beginning.

Hello there. I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I honestly am not the type of writer that could get a large-scale conflict right. Therefore I just wanted to get the war over with. Sorry about any drop in quality.

A huge shoutout to 'Me, Myself and I' (That's this person's guest account name, not me tooting my own horns) for the detailed review you left for the last chapter and for all the writing ideas. As for your question, 'Charade' is not exactly the same as 'Parade' since it does not put the real body in a different co-ordinate, just erases all traces of the original body from any peering eyes. It does not share the same weakness that 'Parade' has which is the inability to work if someone sees it being performed and gets a lock on the original body before it is completed.

Before I finish, I just like to state that I have no knowledge of the canon story after the Parasite Arc. The Incest was a bit of a turn-off for me personally. That said, I will refer the original work in the future if need be.

That's about it.

Peace.
