After the issue with the ghost cow invading our thoughts, we then moved through the next part of the mansion after a quick rest break, us going down until we reached room 659, where I then spoke to Spooky before we moved any forward. "Bella, question. How many Bugsnax will try to attack us?" I asked.
"A ton of them. And all of them are quite fast," she said, us then going into the room and, when we did, I gawked at how the place looked like the Undersnax and we saw that a bunch of tubes were near us... and that the door ahead of us was locked. And the only button in the room was an unlock button, it being by the middle part of the room.
"Once we hit this switch, it will open the door, but also allow the Bugsnak armies to attack us. We'll need to run from them all. If we stay still for even a second, they'll swarm us like a pack of wolves and force themselves down our throat," Bella said with a shiver.
"Gotcha, let's get to it. And if any of them are getting too close for comfort, we'll attack with our weapons," Chara said, me nodding at them.
"Yes, we will... let's get to it, kids," I said, me then hitting the button and, the moment I did so, the entirety of the 8 tubes in the room behind us spewed forth at least a dozen Bugsnax each, all of which being different kinds and all of them being ground-based! We ran through the door and proceeded to run through the next 30 rooms all at once, the tubes appearing in all the rooms we went through, and they only piled through when we passed the tubes. But it didn't stop us from hearing the Bugsnax doing the same siren-like calls they made in the final bits of their origin game.
"Aaaa-aaa-aaaaaaah! Aaa-aaa-aaaaah!" they sung out loud, me making sure the others in our group were all running as fast as possible until we ended up getting away from the many different parasites until we got to the next elevator, where we were finally safe as I then immediately went to the button and hit it, us then going down the elevator to the next floor, me seeing that the kids were looking concerned.
"I was so scared of those freaky things... it's different when I'm normal and not a specimen like they are," Mitsuri admitted.
"If they chase us again, just a warning, they'll be even more willing to attack you. They sense for weaknesses, and they exploit them," I said with a frown as we then got to the next part of the mansion, me needing to use my flashlight once we reached the area for Specimen 13, where the place was so dark, that the others knew that the light of my flashlight was the only thing we could rely on.
"Okay, this is my least favorite of the Specimen rooms. Can't see a damn thing," Bubblegum groaned as we then moved through the place, me finding the code I needed to put into the door, me seeing that it was 3412, me then turning on the water pump and, afterwards, we went into the room with the Specimen itself, me wondering if I could speak to her into not attacking us. We then finally got the key to go to her room, me making sure all of us were on the crates as I looked out into the waters and saw the Siren on the box near the door.
"Um, excuse me, miss Siren?" I asked, her then doing a small hum from afar. "I want to ask that you leave us alone, please? We can have you go back to the ocean if you want... but we don't want to die, please?" I said, her then turning around... and when she did? I gawked at how the Siren in question was in the form of the Octo Siren from Shantae Seven Sirens!
"Not the same. And I was told to kill intruders. If I killed enough, I was promised I could go home," she said.
"I... I lied," Spooky said, Octo Siren looking at the blue-haired girl in confusion.
"You... lied?... You're alive again?" she asked in confusion. "I can't go back at all?"
"No, you can't. But you can still live in this world if you want. The ocean is full of life and it's extremely peaceful... and super huge," I smiled.
"Hmph. Fine," she pouted before then simply swimming over to me and going directly for my group and her simply picking up Cynthia. "I'll carry her, but when we get out of this mansion, you carry me. I expect a fish gourmet when we get out of here, too," she frowned.
"Good thing, because my house is very close to a great sushi restaurant," I smiled, that making the Octo lady get big eyes.
"Sushi?... It's been almost 200 years since I last ate that delectable delicacy of the sea," she smiled happily, finally speaking fluently instead of all bored-like. We then moved through the next few areas of the watery rooms, us going through the entirety of it before we then finally got another rest stop at the next elevator.
"By the way, I was already contacted by the wretched bovine," Octo Siren said, me frowning at that. "He's trying to tell the other Specimens that you are dangerous and to be killed... but I'm smarter than the others. I know that, if you saved the other Specimens that are more innocent than others, you weren't evil... just know that the Unkown Specimens are going to be deadlier than all the rest, especially Lisa... she has no morals. If she sees you, she will immediately try to kill you, child or no child. Only us other specimens will be safe," she said, me gulping at that.
"And she's a ghost, right? A ghost that could be revived?"
"She is, but she was a bitch even when she was alive. Trust me, I should know, as I can see her thoughts from afar. She only became a spirit of vengeance because she was furious at her husband for tricking her into death after she tried to kill him numerous times, but only because the husband abused her," Alma growled.
"Got it, be mindful of her, but also let her know we aren't abusers... well, almost all of us," I frowned, Bella frowning at me saying that.
"Shush it. I hate that you keep reminding me of that, Matt," she growled.
"I wasn't referring to just you, Bella. I was also referring to some of the others in our group," I frowned, which Alma frowned at, same with Octo Siren, and Chara.
"I want to really hurt you for saying that," Octo Siren frowned.
"You may slap me one time," I said, her then coming over and smacking me with her very sticky tentacle, me quivering from how wet and sticky it felt.
"That looks fun, let me try," Chara smiled as she then smacked me in my gut, me groaning after and only to be in a bit more pain from Alma using her mind to make me feel itchy in my asshole.
"Hey! Too far, Alma!" I groaned at her.
"Better than a migraine," she smirked.
"Well, at least you're having fun, even if it is at my expense," I groaned as we then finally recollected ourselves and, afterwards, we needed to get prepped for an impenetrable opponent. And he was made completely of ink and hate... maybe, jury may be out on the hate part.
