Hey guys! It's been about a month, but I decided to post again! Yay!

Thank you to a guest reviewer who stated they liked the previous chapter. I'm glad you enjoyed it:)

This chapter will probably be my last chapter for this story. I'm going to end it on the campers discovering that they met power rangers, and the power rangers heading back home.

Heads up: In this chapter, we're pretending their morphors work.

Without further ado, here's chapter 7!

The second the sun peaked above the trees, all campers were wide awake and making breakfast, trying to be hospitable to the newcomers, even though some still had their suspicions.

Izzy awoke first to an intense smell of fruit. "Hey, what's that smell?"

Brooklynn glanced over from her cooking. "Oh, I'm squishing and cutting fruit. You know, for some fruit juice?"

Izzy raised her eyebrows. "Okay."

Kenji was buried in a clove of trees, carving sticks into spears; he'd already made a big pile.

Sammy and Yaz were walking around, mostly checking on their new friends.

"Who do you think they are?" Sammy wondered, rubbing her chin.

Yaz glanced at her friend. "Um . . . what?"

Sammy turned to the athlete, brows creased and hands on her hips.

"Their . . . people," Yaz offered. "Like us."

"Okay."

"Why? What do you think?"

"I think they're spies."

"Okay, chill, Sammy. We know nothing about these people."

"We know that they lied to us when they told us they got here by helicopter."

"We don't even know that they lied!" Yaz snapped. "You're just making stuff up to get attention."

Sammy stepped back, shocked at her best friend's tone.

Yaz bit her lip. "Sorry."

"No, you're right," Sammy said rather curtly. Frustration was clear in her voice.

"Sammy, really." Yaz hurried to cover up her mistake. "I didn't mean to shout."

"Whatever." Sammy brushed Yaz off and walked into the trees to join Kenji and his carving.

Yaz didn't scurry after the Texan, however. Instead, she walked over to Darius.

"What's up?" He greeted.

"Oh, not much." Yaz sat down next to the youngest, organizing his field guide. "You?"

"I'm sorting some stuff in my book, but I'm actually pretty bored for once," Darius responded.

"Sammy's a bit angry at me," Yaz blurted.

Darius raised his eyebrows. "Actually?"

"Ya."

"Why?"

"Because I didn't agree with her."

"On what?"

"Well, she keeps telling me those new visitors are 'suspicious'. I just don't believe her."

"Ya, me neither. I think the new kids are totally cool."

Yaz smiled and stood up. "You wanna go check on 'em?"

"Why not?" Darius got to his feet and followed his friends to where the rangers were sleeping.

They were greeted by five yawning rangers.

"Hey, where's the sixth person? I only see five." Yaz counted them off a few times.

"I saw her with Brooklynn just a few minutes ago. I think she's helping her with breakfast," Darius replied.

Yaz nodded and turned to greet the rangers. "Hi, guys. Sleep well?"

"Actually, not really . . ." Amelia started. "But that's always normal when I'm not in my own bed."

The rangers got out of the makeshift bed–a pile of dry moss and leaves–and walked out to meet Izzy and the rest of the campers.

They gathered around the dining table. Plates and cups of fruit and fruit juices were passed around to everyone.

"So . . . this is your first official meal with the six surviving campers of dinosaur island. Ya!" Darius cheered.

The rest of the campers whooped.

"That's great. Btw, this food looks really healthy. Is this what you eat every day?" Amelia pitched in.

Everyone laughed.

"Pretty much," Brooklynn said between laughs.

"Sometimes we go back to main street for extra supplies and essentials. We occasionally find a can of sausage or rice. But that's not too often," Yaz stated.

The others agreed.

"So . . . have you found a way to escape the island? Have you been trying?" Ollie meant it as only a question, but to the campers' ears, it came out as more of an insult.

"Excuse me? Of course we've been trying! But we basically have no hope since the only emergency beacon on the island that we sent was never received. There are no working phones or landlines. And we haven't spotted any water vehicles that could take us across the ocean. So, ya. That's why we're still here," Sammy retorted the long explanation.

"She's right. We've been trying, but our hope has run thin. And from where I'm looking, you all have the same fate as us." Darius nodded in agreement.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that how it sounded to you," Ollie apologized.

"It's okay," Kenji replied a bit mockingly.

The twelve teenagers sat in awkward silence for a few minutes before Brooklynn asked the one question you should always ask someone when you meet them.

"What are your names, by the way?"

Everyone exchanged goofy glances, as if that was the stupidest question ever asked on the Earth; more or less, everyone was being stupid for not asking the simple question sooner.

"Well, I'm Ayaan."

"I'm Ollie."

"I'm Izzy."

"I'm Javi."

"I'm Amelia."

"And I'm Zayto."

The campers nodded to their new friends with surprise, as if they didn't expect names like that to come out of their mouths.

"And your's are?" Zayto raised his eyebrows.

"I'm Darius. Dinosaurs, video games, wilderness. It's all me."

"I'm Brooklynn. Youtube is–or was pretty much my life. I like the outdoors and adventures too."

"I'm Sammy. Came from Texas. Live on a ranch. Like people and animals."

"I'm Yaz. Track star. Like to run."

"I'm Ben. Totally transformed from being scared of a bug to defeating Toro. Like action."

"I'm Kenji. Super rich dude, not to brag. Money, luxury, good looks. All my style."

"Wow, nice introductions. You guys are pretty cool," Izzy acknowledged.

The campers smiled.

Everyone continued eating, but in silence since there wasn't really anything to discuss.

After a few minutes of blank quietness, Izzy stood up and weaved her way around the table, motioning for the rest of her friends–the rangers–to follow.

They did so, and walked away from the campers with no explanation.

"Hey–where are you guys going?" Darius shouted from the treehouse.

"Oh, we were just going to wander around a bit, if that's okay with you?" Izzy continued leading the rangers far out of sight, not really looking for permission from the campers.

"Uh–I wouldn't do that!" It was Brooklynn's turn to shout. "There are lots of dinosaurs on this island that wouldn't spare you if you encountered them."

"Just leave us be! We know how to fend for ourselves," Izzy retorted rather harshly.

The campers were taken aback by the sudden change of mood.

"Sammy, I think you're right. Those fellows look up to no good." Yaz glanced apologetically at her friend.

"Mm hm." Sammy craned her neck to try and spot the rangers, but they had already buried themselves too far into the trees.

"Guys, they're being kind of suspicious. But, let's not jump to any conclusions just in case. Okay?" Darius reasoned.

"Okay," Kenji whooped rather carelessly.

So the six campers waited until their mysterious friends returned from their "adventure".

"Izzy, why'd you drag us here?" Javi nearly shouted. "Those kids totally suspected something."

"I know. Those kids did suspect we were up to something, but I dragged you back here because I saw my morpher blink."

"What?" Ayaan inquired, exasperated.

"Yes. I saw it blinking a green light. That means it's working again!" Izzy cheered.

"Maybe we can finally get off this death place," Amelia pitched in.

"Ya!" Everyone cheered for a few moments before realizing something.

"We can't just leave those other kids here too. Can we?" Zayto offered.

"Ya. That wouldn't be fair. Us just taking off with no explanation and leaving them to die here when they've already done so much for us?" Ollie supported.

"But we also can't let them find out that we're rangers," Izzy stated. "It's a dangerous secret. If they know who we are, bad things could come upon them and us just for knowing that we're power rangers."

Everyone nodded their agreement, but were still thinking of a solution.

"For their lives and for ours, I think we need to let them know our secret," Zayto said, a bit unsure about what he was proposing.

"It's for the greater good." Ollie jabbed a hand out.

The rest of the rangers slapped their hands on top. "Dino Fury!"

They returned to the campers, who all had looks of suspicion pasted on their faces.

"Hey," Ollie began.

"Where've you been?" Brooklynn asked, acting as if she never heard the greeting.

"We were just discussing some stuff–important stuff in that little pocket of trees." Ayaan pointed to their previous meeting place.

Sammy and Brooklynn stood up, but immediately sat back down, seeing the other folks walk up to them.

The six rangers sat themselves back down and leaned into the table, getting ready to explain everything.

"Listen. We'll explain everything," Zayto started, to avoid any breakouts.

"What we're just doing, was discussing a way to get off this place. We think we have a way." Izzy locked eyes with every camper, whose jaws were hanging open.

"Continue," Yaz urged.

"Well, you see. We've got a secret that no one on Earth except a few people know about. It's a pretty dangerous secret," Amelia continued.

The campers exchanged nervous glances.

"Don't worry. I think we'll all be safe if you allow us to tell you what it is." Ollie urged.

"So . . . the secret is . . . we're rangers," Izzy blurted.

"Huh?" Kenji leaned forward, brows creased.

"What?" Darius also furrowed his brows. "Like park rangers?"

"No–" Amelia was cut off by her own fear. A rustle in the bushes had claimed the silent breeze around them.

Without warning nor explanation, a carnivorous roar way too close to be safe erupted through the air like a volcano, and echoed for what felt like ages.

All twelve teenagers covered their ears just as a predator the size of a large RV pounced through the bushes and into the campsite.

Everyone screamed. The loudest belonged to the rangers, of course.

But the six rangers put aside their fear, and started closing space between the predator and themselves.

Fearlessly, they stood in a line.

"We have too!" Izzy shouted, referring to the morph.

"It won't work!" Javi shouted back.

"Yes it will. Trust the process," Amelia agreed with the green ranger.

"If you say so." Javi replied.

And with that, the six rangers began to morph.

"It's morphin' time!" Zayto bellowed over the roars of the t-rex.

Slowly, the six teenagers transformed into dino fury rangers.

It only took a few minutes for the t-rex to shy away from the bright colored, and fearless rangers. She scampered back into the trees.

The rangers unmorphed and turned to face the campers. Every single camper had wide eyes and hanging jaws.

"So–" Amelia began, but was cut off by Darius.

"Not park rangers. You're power rangers." The dino nerd breathed.

"Boy, that's so cool!" Kenji yelped, hopping up and down.

"Ya!" Sammy joined in the fun. "Man, I had my suspicions, but power rangers was nowhere on the list. This is the coolest thing I've ever seen! I mean–even cooler than dinosaurs. No offense, dinos–or Darius."

"All good," Darius chimed in. "I think this is awesome."

"Wow. And I thought dinosaurs were the most epic it got." Ben walked over to their new friends.

Brooklynn and Yaz followed along, listening to the amazing things said and tossing in a few of their own compliments.

The six teenagers had a nice long laugh.

Zayto used one of his dino keys and said something like a spell while pointing it at clear space. A portal about the size of a closet stretched wide open.

"That's how we plan to get you home." Amelia gestured towards the portal.

"If you want," Ollie added a little sheepishly.

The campers exchanged unsure glances.

"How does it know where to take us?" Kenji pitched in.

"This portal takes us six back to base. But from there, we can create other portals that take you all back home," Ayaan replied.

"How long will that portal hold?" Brooklynn asked.

"About . . . five to six minutes," Ollie answered.

"Okay. Give us a minute." Brooklynn gestured for the other five campers to follow her into a nearby grove of trees.

"Brooklynn," Sammy said. "What are you doing?"

"Shouldn't getting the chance to finally go home be a no brainer?" Yaz inquired.

"No, actually," Ben disagreed. "It's not a no brainer."

"Huh?" Yaz questioned. "Why?"

"Think about how much we'd be leaving behind if we went with them?" Ben continued. "For the most important, we'd be leaving behind Bumpy. I can't have that. We'd also be leaving behind this awesome treehouse we built with our own hands. Not to mention that this is just super random. These strangers strolled into our campsite. They stayed for one night, and the next day, they offered us a way to go home? That just doesn't seem right. It's not like I don't trust them. It's that I don't know if we're ready to leave this place. I mean, it's not all bad if you think about it. And hey, no one's died yet. So, that's a plus. The point is, I'm staying. I don't care what you guys think or decide. You can't drag me away from this place yet. I'm not ready."

"Ben's right." Darius stepped forward. "We're not ready. We've spent so much time together and have got to know each other so well. To just throw that away right now? With such a random opportunity? I don't think we should go."

"Well, Darius." Brooklynn faced the dino nerd. "You can't tell all of us what to do, but you're right. My decision. I'm staying."

"That's three of you." Kenji joined. "We can't just be split like that, so, I'm staying too."

"This island makes a good enough track for me. I'm in," Yaz lamely stated.

"Sammy?" Darius got the Texan's attention. "What's your decision?"

"I don't know," Sammy responded. "I guess I have family in both places. I've got my folks at home, and it would hurt to not go back as soon as opportunity strikes. But if I go, I'd be missing you guys a lot, and that would also hurt to leave you behind. I know I should always put my bloodline family first, but I just can't go yet. I'm staying. With you guys."

"Whoo!" they all yelped before returning to the rangers.

"You guys go ahead," Darius said.

"So, you're not coming?" Ollie queried.

"How could we? This place is our home." Ben gestured around him. "You guys go back home."

"All right then. If you're sure?" Zayto raised his eyebrows.

The campers nodded.

"Then we'll be off!" Izzy and Amelia shouted.

"You guys have been so good to us. Thank you for taking care of us for the two days we were here," Javi acknowledged before jumping into the portal. "Bye!"

"Thank you so much!" Amelia and Izzy jumped next.

"You guys have been wonderful. Thanks!" Ayaan followed.

"I thank you for your services." Ollie hopped into the teleportation device.

"Thank you, campers. I appreciate all the help you've provided for us. I hope you have a safe journey from here on out, and are able to return home when you desire. So long." And with that, Zayto jumped through the portal, and it all closed behind him.

"Well, that was quite the adventure." Yaz propped her elbow on Sammy's shoulder.

"I'm glad they're home now," Darius breathed.

"But now that that's taken care of, I think we've earned ourselves a little fun. Eh?" Brooklynn suggested.

"Ya!"

The sun rose above the trees. And then there were six campers following its trail into the wild.

THE END
