Chapter 5: First Two Wonders
After Judo finished the dishes, which weren't a lot; 5 plates and a few cups, she cut a piece of cheddar from a block in the fridge. She wished her mum goodnight as she went upstairs. Wendy didn't respond as she typed away.
Placing the block of cheese right by her bedroom door, but at an angle, so her mum wouldn't notice it from walking by, Judo leaped into bed. Her anticipation about visiting the other world kept her up longer than usual.
Eventually, Judo awoke to a squeaking. She immediately turned to the cheese and saw three mice picking up the pieces of cheddar. They all rushed out the door, Judo leaping out of bed and running quietly through the dark house. The mice led her straight to the door.
She swung open the door, revealing the bright glow of the interior.
Judo's heart raced as she quickly crept through the tunnel, the smell of gourmet food hitting her nostrils.
She opened the other door and entered into the other living room. She immediately went towards the kitchen. There stood her "Other Mother" preparing food.
"Welcome back sweetie!" The Other Mother softly greeted her.
"Uh, Hi!" Judo said softly.
"Very thoughtful of you to bring this cheddar Judo!" Her other mother cheerfully chuckled, adding the cheddar to an omelet. "Would you be a dear a fetch your father? He's out in the garden!"
"But, my dad hates gardening," Judo remarked.
The Other Mother chuckled. "Well, everything IS better on this side!" The other mother handed Judo an apple slice.
Judo walked out the backdoor to the garden. The sky was beautiful. Purple and red galaxy dust hung in the sky with every planet in the solar system visible somewhere. Saturn hung the brightest. "WOW!" Judo gasped in awe.
"Uh, Other Dad!?" Judo called, finally entering the garden.
Three vibrantly glowing hummingbirds greeted her, a warm hum filling Judo's ears. "Wow!"
They led her to an empty bed, in which beautiful carnations sprouted from the emptiness. Judo skipped over and watched the flowers grow, a colorful frog leaping from the petals.
The birds led her deeper into the garden as vibrant and glowing plants grew rapidly around her. A peach tree with pink blossoms, bleeding hearts that glowed and bled shiny red mist, sunflowers that rotated and appeared to produce glowing sprites. Judo was in awe, becoming overwhelmed and swept up in the beauty. Small animals such as bunnies, frogs, little rodents, and butterflies surrounded her, softly greeting her.
Judo was swept in awe, an intense feeling she'd never felt before overwhelmed her. She wished she could stay here forever, to see this garden every day. Tears softly fell from her eyes, and a warm calming heat flew through her.
As she stood as the garden finished sprouting, she spotted the other father riding a praying mantis machine. Seeds sprouted from the machine into the empty dirt area of the garden. Immediately from the seeds, light mauve flowers sprouted to life.
"I FUCKING LOVE YOUR GARDEN!" Judo squealed. She hadn't noticed she cursed.
"You mean OUR garden!" The other father jokingly chuckled.
A tiny ticklish jolt shot through Judo's leg. She looked down and saw a dragon snapper knicking her with its mouth. As she lost strength and collapsed in the flower bed, more dragon snappers began tickling her. Judo squealed in happiness, trying to regain composure as an orgasmic tickling overwhelmed her body.
"Uh oh! Judo in distress!" The other father chuckled. He shifted gears and aimed straight towards Judo, pulling a tenor saxophone from a strap on his back and playing a jazz tune.
Finally reaching Judo, the dragon snappers turned towards the other father.
"Tickle no more you dragon snappers!" He chuckled and pulling a dagger from his belt, sliced them in half with a lightning-fast slash. Catching all the decapitated stems in the same hand, he handed them to Judo. "See sweetheart, I won't let anything hurt you!"
Finally catching a breath, Judo took his warm hand and got to her feet.
"Well, she says it's time for dinner, I mean supper… breakfast…. FOOD?!" Judo chuckled.
"Let me show you something first!" The other father said, handing her the bouquet picking her up, and placing her in a seat on the mantis behind her. With a pull of a lever, the mantis extended its wings and began flapping away, lifting the two in the air. Judo was semi afraid of heights so she tightly clenched to the other father.
"Take a look!" The other father chuckled, peering at the ground beneath them. Judo looked down and saw a jaw-dropping sight.
The garden was in the face of Judo. The bridge and pond made her vibrant eyes, flower beds made her teeth and nose, and the plants all began to glow beautifully and made Judo's smiling face.
"You… you MADE THIS?!" Judo gasped.
"Mother said you like it, for she knows you like her left hand!"
"It's beautiful!" Judo complimented. "I wish I could show Bluey, she'd be so impressed!"
After a while of flying in the sky, the other father flew around the house and did a few tricks in the air. Judo wanted to fly over the woods for a bit, but her other father said they were low on fuel. Once they landed and the mantis was parked in the shed, the two entered the house, Judo tightly holding on to her other father's arm.
Her real dad wasn't as fun as her other father. He was like her mum since she stayed there about 50/50 and not on weekdays/weekends. He didn't play with her as much as she liked and was always working like her mum. She always wished her dad was more like Bluey's dad. Always playing and spoiling his two kids.
Placing the flowers in water, she sat down at gobbled down breakfast.
Pastries with cream and strawberries spread atop, cinnamon waffles, and juicy fruit were all gobbled down by Judo. Her other parents were chatting happily with her very attentively. Her other father wrapped her arm around her holding her close to his warm body as she ate as her other mother fed sausage to the dragon snappers.
Having divorced parents, she always felt like she was missing something that other families had. Lucky and Bluey's families seemed to be bursting with love and comfort whilst she only saw one parent a week. Whenever the two did talk to each other, it was always loveless and straight to the point. Though the two never told Judo the reason why they divorced, she could semi-piece together that it was because her dad cheated on her mum.
"Judo! After dinner, Mr. Bobinsky invited you upstairs to see the jumping mice perform!" Her other mother said.
"Really? I've never seen a jumping mouse circus before!" Judo exclaimed.
There was a knock on the front door. The other mother stood up. "It looks like your friend is here!" The other mother chuckled.
"My friend?"
The other mother opened the front door and inward walked Wybie. Or, the OTHER Wybie. He had button eyes, was dressed more nicely, and his hair was more curly and shiny.
"Oh yippee. Another Wybie. Bonsoir, why were you born." Judo glumly groaned. Wybie simply nodded, catching Judo off guard.
"Uh, HELLO?"
Wybie nodded again.
"I thought you would like him more if he spoke a little less, so I fixed him!" the other mother chuckled.
"Fixed him?" The corners of Judo's mouth perked up. "I like it!"
"Run along you two, and have fun!"
The two left, waving the other parents farewell.
As the two walked, Judo noticed how comforting the outdoors at night were. It was warm and welcoming. A sense of peace surrounded them. Judo never stepped out at night without her mum in the real world. It was far too frightening and Judo heard horror stories of people being murdered and kidnapped by white vans and creeps. But here in the other world, everything is calming and welcoming.
Wybie silently trotted alongside Judo. "You ever see a jumping mice circus?" Judo asked. Wybie shook his head. "Is your grandma okay with you riding over here at night?" Wybie nodded.
Judo began seeing how Wybie not being able to talk wasn't as fun.
"Uh… you did agree to it, didn't you? Your Grandma is okay with my other mum talking your voice away right? That seems like a big leap." Wybie shrugged his shoulders.
"Uh… how did she exactly… 'fix you'? Did she fix you like they did to my friend Bluey's d-"
Wybie pointed to the sky. Judo looked upward and saw a flying blue sphere softly flying towards the house.
Judo and Wybie jogged towards Mr. Bobinsky's front door, following the blue sphere. Judo knocked. The front door spun vertically, sweeping Judo and Wybie into its spinning. It flung the two inside.
Judo gained composure and saw how colorful the apartment was. It was lit like a circus. Joyful circus music filled the apartment's ambiance with Russian flags hanging from the ceiling. There was a stand with rich pink cotton candy and glossy caramel apples sprinkled with peanuts.
"WOW!" Judo chuckled. She picked up an apple and bit into the savory fruit. Wybie got some cotton candy and tore off a handsome piece for Judo. When Judo ate it, pure sweetness melted in her mouth.
"Attention! Attention!" Bobinsky's voice eroded from a small circus tent in the back of the apartment. "Come one, come all!" Judo and Wybie immediately rushed into the tent, excitement bursting out of them with every inch of their bodies.
When they entered, the inside of the tent was much larger. About 20x20x20 feet with lights and bleachers.
"I, Alexander Bobinsky, am introducing my outstanding, amazing, immaculate," his voice rang through the tent as the previously floating blue sphere entered the tent and flew around the center of the tent, "JUMPING MOUSE CIRCUS!" With that, the sphere dropped and hit the floor, opening up. Bursting out of the sphere, a massive group of jumping mice leaped acrobat-like into the air and landed, assembling the word 'JUDO' as they landed.
"MY NAME!" Judo squealed, grabbing Wybie's shoulder and pointing in amazement.
Miniature instruments dropped from the ceiling and the mice jumped from their arrangement, catching the instruments mid-air and assembling into formation. A jazzy, high-noted, circus theme began playing as they performed, jumping and leaping, doing flips and jumping through hoops.
"It's beautiful!" Judo said to Wybie, her eyes not leaving the circus. In the center of the circus, a mouse jumped on a ball with a star on it.
Mice did trapeze performances, somersaulting off of high heights, and jumping through flaming hoops.
Suddenly, a spiral platform in the center of the performance began rising and the mice began leaping on it with the star ball riding mouse being in the center. Rising far above Judo and Wybie, easily being over 15 feet tall, the platform suddenly stopped. The ball-riding mouse began running down the swirling spiral whilst all the mice somersaulted off the high platform to get out of its way.
Finally, the moment the mouse reached the bottom, the platform went into a blueish flame and immediately vanished, revealing a standing button-eyed Bobinsky in pristine uniform. He got on one knee and bowed, taking off his hat.
"WOOO! THAT WAS GREAT!" Judo squealed, the two puppies clapping.
"Thank lady and gentleman!" The other Bobinsky gracious thanked and with a simple nod, the mice began running into his arm sleeves. The last mouse, the ball-riding one, rode onto his arm and leaped onto his head, being immediately covered by Mr. Bobinsky's hat.
"We loved it Mr. B! It was so… SOO…" Judo exclaimed, struggling for words, "AMAZING!"
"You are very welcome, you and also your good friend. Beregi sebya, dorogaya!" The other Bobinsky held Judo's hand and kissed it. He bid the two farewell. Judo and Wyie left, snagging one last candy apple as they left the apartments.
"THAT WAS AMAZING!" Judo squealed as the two walked down the stairrail. "Wait until I tell Bluey! She'll be so jealous!" The two reentered the main apartment.
As the two went into the kitchen, the Other Mother and Father greeted them.
"How was it?" The Other Mother asked.
"It was amazing! They were doing somersaults and trapeze performances and they even made my name!" Judo squealed. She immediately yawned afterward.
"Time for bed!" The other father chuckled.
Judo made herself one last glass of cider. Once she was done, she noticed something on the wall. There were three decorative plates on display on a shelf. They each had painted puppies on them. One a cocker spaniel, one a black lab, and one of an old English sheepdog, like wybie. The Other Mother noticed her looking at the plates.
"Oh, it's time for bed!" The other mother said, softly pushing Judo to her bedroom with the other others following behind.
Laying down, the other mother kissed her goodnight. A warm hum came from the bed, making Judo drift off to sleep.
—
When she awoke, a cold breeze filled under the blankets. She was back in her old bedroom, a soft rain hitting the windows.
"Fuck!" Judo cussed. She wished she could stay forever.
Judo glanced at where the cheese previously lay and saw it was gone.
"It wasn't a dream! It was real!" Judo gasped and sprinted downstairs. As she reached the living room, she tried to open to door. It didn't budge.
"Judo, Bluey on Facetime!" Wendy called from the kitchen. Judo sprinted into the kitchen. She noticed the ironing board was out and Wendy was doing her hair.
"Hey, Judo!" Bluey's voice came from the laptop.
"Hey, Bluey!" Judo said. "You won't believe what I saw last night!" Before she told Bluey about her dream, she noticed Bluey in a party hat. "Why the hat?"
"It was Rusty's birthday earlier today," Bluey said.
"Oh! I forgot!" Judo said. She hadn't realized how distant she had become from her friends. "Was it fun?"
"Yeah! We played spin the bottle and I kissed Mackenzie!" Bluey chuckled. Judo slightly recoiled at that. Had he moved on from her?
In the background, Bluey's dad walked by shirtless, having got out of the shower. He was wearing his black shorts that shined and highlighted how thicc he was. Judo loved it when he wore those. She would always join Bluey when her family went on walks or jogs, being able to get an eyeful.
"Bluey! Come on, we're going to miss the movies!" Bandit remarked, slipping some jeans on that were slightly too tight so he did that hopping thing to get them on, making his ass bounce softly, giving Judo a nice view.
"Oh! We're going to see the movies then we're sleeping over at Rusty's house."
"Oh," Judo said. She couldn't hide her disappointment at being left out. Bluey noticed.
"You ok Judo? I do miss you." Bluey said.
"Yeah. It's lonely here. This house sucks." Judo remarked. "I wish I never moved. I don't have any friends here."
"Me too. Maybe you can visit when you come to see your dad back here!"
Judo tried to smile at that, but her feelings of sadness overtook her face.
"I'll try and chat later," Bluey said. Judo nodded.
"BLUEY!" Bandit said more sternly slipping his shirt on. "C'MON!"
"Bye Judo."
"Bye."
The Facetime ended and Judo sat there.
"C'mon Judo! Get dressed! We need to get you enrolled and pick up your uniform."
"Wait, UNIFORMS!?" Judo gasped aloud. "Why do I have to wear uniforms!?"
"It's required."
"I never had to wear them back in Australia!"
"Well, now you do!" Wendy said, becoming more ticked off.
Judo grumbled and went back upstairs to get dressed. "I wish I could stay in the other world forever," Judo mumbled to herself.
