"And for anyone who thought I left, I never left. Just moved aside for a while."

I want to start by saying sorry to everyone for the chaos. Even though I have a special document with what I want to happen in each chapter I still forget things. Also don't count the points to much, I really tried to make it as realistic as possible, but it is very difficult. Sorry. Enjoy XD

Chapter 5, Fighting in Jeddah

Chase got out of his car, arriving at the very hot track of Saudi Arabia. Marshall also arriving at around the same time. The two find each other and fist bump, walking towards the paddock together. People from the Photographing team trying to get a good shot of the two pups. The drivers checking in at the paddock entrance before going to the team meeting. The two pups entered their team building and found the meeting room. Shaking hands with the team members before sitting down at their places.

'Alright, here we are, the Saudi Arabia grand prix weekend. I hope everyone is well rested, because we have a lot to do this weekend.' Miles said, starting the meeting. 'Marshall, why don't you start.'

'Yeah, like we mentioned in the debrief two weeks ago, there are definitely issues we must get under control. This weekend especially could be tough mechanical wise as the temperature is high, and we were not looking strong mechanically two weeks ago. But I have very good faith that these issues are behind us, and we can send a message back to Ferrari.' Marshall said with confidence, the team liking that answer, clapping happily.

'We definitely did some work on the car, I cannot tell you, nor Chase how good those changes are, you'll have to see throughout the weekend.' One of the mechanics representatives reported. Looking at both Marshall and Chase.

'Sound good.' Marshall responded.

'Chase, how do you report.' Miles asked Chase.

'I'm pretty positive, not counting the issues this car is a very fast car. We can definitely push forward if the issues are taken care off.' Chase reported.

'Good to hear. Team, I know last weekend was very mixed up and in terms of the championships we have a lot to prove to Ferrari, and to our fans. But we are Red-Bull, we have won 3 championships with Russell. We are the strongest team out there in terms of the teamwork, we can achieve greatness.' Miles said, motivating his team.

The team discussed more details and then everyone went their own ways to prepare for the weekend. Marshall to his personal space. He saw he had a missed call from Russell, so he called him back.

'Ey, nice that I finally got a hold of you.' Russell said with a proud smile on his face.

'Hey Russell, how is retirement.' Marshall said, happy to talk to Russell again.

'It's great I can tell you. Just relaxing you know. Also, I have something to share which I think you are going to like.' Russell said, building suspense.

'Ah tell me!' Marshall responded. Eager to know what the dog was doing.

'I'm coming this weekend! I am also thinking of coming to the Monaco grand prix. I just couldn't wait to see you and your friend race!' Russell revealed.

'Thats pawsome! I'm very excited to see you myself!' Marshall said, excited about the news.

'Yeah, and I am sure you are going to have a great weekend. I mean I know how hard you fight for it and last year you seemed to have a lot of fun when others weren't yeeting you off track. I'm sure that first race win is not far away.' Russell said with confidence.

'Thats a lot of confidence.' Marshall responded.

'You know you have a good chance at this track when it's up to you.' Russell commented.

'Yeah, could certainly be fun.' Marshall said, seeing another message come in. 'I'm going to chat with someone else, can't wait to see you Saturday!'

'Have fun with practise. Give those Ferrari's something to worry about.' Russell said, clearly very proud.

'I'll surely have some fun.' Marshall said, before ending the call.

"Up for a quick chat before your weekend kicks off?" the message said, send from Zuma.

Marshall called back and Zuma picked up.

'Hey Zuma, what are you up to?' Marshall asked, excited to speak to his friend.

'A lot of training dude. Crazy how much I lacked in pace in Bahrain. I totally gotta pick up the pace.' Zuma explained.

'Yeah, starting in DF3 is very difficult, but knowing you I'm sure with the amount you train you'll be going up soon!' Marshall said supporting his friend.

'Thanks, you are going into a difficult weekend huh.' Zuma said.

'Yeah, but it is one I really enjoy, this track is so fast and flows well when you get it right. Very Satisfying.' Marshall said, looking at a map of the track layout on the table.

'Yeah, but hot though right. And unforgiving.' Zuma thought out loud.

'It is pretty scary, but it's part of it.' Marshall explained.

'Yeah.' Zuma simply replied.

'You will see once you get here. The reward is worth the risk.' Marshall commented.

'Can't wait to watch you.' Zuma said with excitement.

A man opened Marshall's door to his room slightly and popped his head through. Not saying a word, but Marshall knew what it meant.

'I have to go, let's talk again soon yeah?' Marshall asked

'Certainly, best of luck!' Zuma said with a smile on his face.

Marshall ended the call and joined his media guy to another event for media day. Filming some content with Chase for the team's YouTube channel, having a lot of fun in the process. Giving interviews and other duties on Thursday.

Friday had arrived and Marshall got his first laps in on the track, flying through the track, everyone seeing Marshall was feeling confident.

Chase also got his laps in, he had driven here in DF2 before, but that was a way different experience. Chase finding it difficult to push the car like Marshall was.

Saturday

Marshall arrived at the track feeling very good about himself, the media trying to get the best picture of him as he walked from the vehicle to the grid with his trainer Aaron. Who also trained a few famous names in doggie formula history. Marshall remained focused thinking about what he had to do today. It was going to be a long day.

Chase also arrived, the photographers trying to take the best pictures of him and Nate as they came past. Nate making funny faces which he always did in his interesting career of training athletes. Chase was also focused but feeling less confident. He has been struggling in practice yesterday, he didn't have much time to get it down now before qualifying.

As Marshall got the garage, he finally saw Russell and the two gave each other a friendly hug. 'Nice to see you again my friend.' Marshall said.

'Couldn't be happier to be here with you and the team again. How are you feeling?' Russell asked

'Really confident, I'm ready.' Marshall said with a smile on his face. Both ignoring the photographers in the corner of their eyesight trying to get a secret shot from them from the distance.

'Best of luck then, go get em.' Russell said with a smile.

Marshall said goodbye to his friend and focused up again, final practice, let's go!

Both pups got in their cars for free practice 3. Marshall feeling more and more confident as he pushes the good side of the limit on the Jeddah track.

'Alright let's do a push lap, see how you roll through this track.' Cameron told Chase over the radio. 'From what I'm seeing I'd advise to really watch how you drive through turns 4 - 12. Also watch out with the brakes in the final turn.' Cameron explained.

'Copy, going for a push lap.' Chase responded. Making sure everything was ready in the cockpit. Chase started his lap, turn one till 3 no problem for someone who had a corner like this on the track he always practiced at with Marshall. But then came the difficult part. A lot of turns with the wall close by. Your timing has to be perfect, and you have to go into some of these corners blindly. Chase tried his best fighting his car all the way through it, managing to keep the car within the boundaries of the circuit. But then there is still halfway to go. The huge number of corners and the track lasting very long there is a huge possibility of a mistake. The amount of focus you need to have for a long period of time hoping no one was going to get in the way of you and your lap. Chase fought through, happy to get across the line.

'Okay that brings us to p6. Let's come back to the pits so we can so a set up change.' Cameron reported over the radio.

'Copy.' Chase responded, a bit upset about his position. 'Who is above us?'

'Marshall p1, Danny p2. The Alpines are p3 and 4 for some reason. And then comes Rocco.' Cameron responded

The Red-Bull drivers both went out on track to get a bit more track experience. Marshall now on softs on a push lap to see where he really stands. Marshall managing to flow through the corners so difficult to Chase like it was nothing, like he was on autopilot. Stuck to the ideal racing line. Commentators following him along commentating on the car dancing through the field. Marshall was in the zone, and no one could get him out of it. Marshall getting ready for the final turn. Suddenly he sees double yellow lights flashing.

'Stop! Stop! Stop!' Cole yelled over the radio. Marshall stepping on the brakes, which he would've done anyway for the corner, coming to a stop as he got out of the corner, seeing a crashed car blocking the road in front of him, it was the other Red-Bull.

'Woah, thanks for the heads up.' Marshall commented, looking at the sight in front of him. 'Is Chase okay?'

'He is fine, it is a red flag, return to the pits, practice 3 will not resume.' Cole reported.

'Copy.' Marshall said, slowly driving past the crashed Red-Bull. Chase giving him a signal he was fine. Marshall returning to the pitlane and got out of his car. Getting some nice cool water as he took a few minutes to just stand and rest from the chaos. The other side of the garage not so relaxed as they had to prepare for a very difficult repair job. Chase walking into the garage minutes later. Team members showing their support as he walked past. Marshall grabbing his water for him and handing it to him. 'All good?' Marshall asked.

'I flipped it up, sorry for your run.' Chase apologized.

'No worries Chase, Saudi comes with surprises.' Marshall said, trying to comfort his friend and teammate. 'You'll get it down.'

Qualifying

'Ladies, gentleman and dogs. Welcome to Qualifying for the Saudi Arabian grand prix here in Jeddah. The sun is setting, the floodlights are on, and the stage is set for a very interesting qualifying session.' Crofty reported.

'Certainly crofty, the question still remains, will Chase be taking part in qualifying? He has his suit on and is ready to go, but the team is still hard at work to make sure the damage to the car caused at the end of practice 3 is fixed. This might be a very close call.' Alex Brundle commented.

'Alpine also seems to be getting closer to the front of the field, I'm very excited to see if they can make a difference today.'

Marshall entered his car, checking his systems before qualifying would begin.

'Radio check.' He called over the radio

'Radio check, loud and clear Marshall.' Cole responded back.

'Alright, spirit check.' Marshall said as a joke.

'Spirits are up, check.' Cole joked back.

'Alright, let's go get them.' Marshall said.

'Can't wait to watch.' Cole added. 'Have fun.'

Marshall got the sign from the head mechanic, driving out of the pit box. People cheering as the Red-Bull with a good chance to challenge the Ferrari's came out of the pitlane warming up his tires as he drove through the track. The feeling of confidence bringing a whole different vibe to the cockpit. Marshall approached the final turn, looking in his mirrors seeing some other cars behind him. Marshall then got through the corner and pushed the throttle to the max. People cheering as Marshall zoomed over the start finish line starting his flying lap.

Chase was still outside of his car hoping the mechanics would be done in time. Watching Marshall on the screen the mechanics on Marshall's side of the garage were looking at. Smiling more and more as Marshall was absolutely on it. Marshall came across the line with a great time to start out with. The mechanics and engineers clapping and high fiving each other. Miles now also nervously watched the mechanics and engineers work their buts off. Time ticked down as Marshall returned to the pit box. The head mechanic of Chase's car then approached. 'I'm afraid we'll be done in about half an hour. Sorry boss.' The guy said to Miles.

Miles was clearly upset at this news. 'Thanks for giving it everything. Then I'd advise to prioritize to get this car ready for a long race.' Miles said. The mechanic nodding before leaving to tell the others what to do.

Chase shook his head looking at the floor. 'Really sorry about that.' He apologized to Miles.

'This is just race two, you have already proven to me you can race. Focus on tomorrow, could be a fun one for you.' Miles responded. 'Successfully overtaking on this track is the most fun there is. Don't let this hold you back.'

Chase nodded, putting his helmet down and watching qualifying continue from the screens.

'Looks like Chase will not get any more driving today. That will be a long race for him tomorrow.' Alex reported.

'The race becoming more and more interesting, and this is only Q1!' Crofty commented with excitement.

'Do we go out again?' Marshall asked.

'I see no reason for it.' Cole responded

'Chase not going out I see?' Marshall asked.

'Yeah, they won't be able to get it done in time. Going to start last I'm afraid.'

'Ah that's not nice.' Marshall commented.

'Yeah, would be nice if you could bring some smiles to this team.' Cole said.

'I got you.' Marshall said with a smile.

Q1 came to an end eliminating two Alfa Romeo's, an Alpha Tauri and one McLaren besides Chase.

Marshall came out again this time a little later. Carefully navigating the track, moving aside as drivers on their fast laps came zooming by. Marshall ready to navigate the track once again.

The garage was quiet everyone watching Marshall get ready to start his lap.

'Too bad you can't drive right now.' Russell commented as Chase was now stood next to him watching the screens closely.

'Yeah, not the best way to start my first Saudi grand prix.' Chase responded, still staring at the screens.

'I have to say, I watched DF2 last year, you have impressive skills Chase.' Russell said with confidence.

Chase now put his attention to Russell. 'You think that?' Chase asked. Not expecting those words from the 3-time champion.

'Not taking back my words.' Russell said with a smile. 'I have a lot of respect for you two. To live your dream, seeing another dream and following that dream together with your best friend. It is difficult to have friends in this sport, especially when you are both so good. You two seem to manage it very well though.'

'Well thanks.' Chase responded, not knowing how to respond.

'I heard another paw patrol pup is coming into the higher ranks now?' Russell asked.

'Yeah, Zuma has been working hard, he just started DF3.' Chase answered.

'Pawsome, can't wait to see you and Marshall drive tomorrow.' Russell commented with a smile on his face. Chase couldn't help but smile himself.

Q2 came to an end, Marshall looking good, the team seemed really happy about it. Now it was time for the most nerve-wracking moments of qualifying. Marshall exited the pitlane and got on track early. Starting his lap. Sometimes yeeting his steering wheel left and right to get through the corner successfully. Russell smiling as he watched Marshall drive from his onboard. 'Traffic up ahead.' Cole reported.

Marshall continued to fly through the corners, keeping a close eye in front of him for the traffic. Blue lights flashing up ahead, the car was close. Marshall got around the corner, a car suddenly in the middle of the road. Marshall slamming on the brakes just in time managing to avoid the very slow Mercedes that should not even be in Q3.

'Woaaahhh.' Marshall exclaimed over the radio. 'That was way too close.'

'Everything okay?' Cole asked.

'All good, only thing ruined is my lap.' Marshall responded. 'Ahhh that is really annoying.'

'We reported it to the stewards.' Cole reported. Marshall just driving back to pitlane in silence. Marshall laying his head on his steering wheel as he came to a standstill in the pit box, the crew bringing him in. He now had one lap left to show Ferrari what he could do.

'Alright, very unfortunate, nothing we could do about that. But it is not over yet buddy.' Cole said with confidence.

'Yeah, just tell me when to go, I'll do what I can.' Marshall responded. Marshall looked in his mirrors, Chase and Russell waving at him from behind the car. Marshall smiled and waved back.

'Alright, we go in ten seconds.' Cole reported.

'Let's go!' Marshall exclaimed confidently.

Marshall exited the pitlane, only the Mercedes that held him up now behind him, the rest was already out on track in front of Marshall.

'The final chance for these drivers to show what they have in store. Who is going to grab pole. Will Marshall go untouched in qualifying and get two out of two poles so far? Or will Danny show Red-Bull how it's done. Will Rocco come in the question or do the Alpines finally stand a chance against the mighty forces of Red-Bull and Ferrari? We are about to get the answers!' Crofty said.

'Both Ferrari's are pushing. Rocco keeps getting a fastest sector, but Danny keeps on stealing it away by half a second! All these drivers close to each other on track, everything is going to start unfolding in front of our eyes within the next minute.' Alex Brundle said with excitement, standing on his feet as he watches the drivers approach the start finish line. 'Rocco is up on his time, but here comes Danny ready to destroy his time. AND HE DOES, what a strong time from him!'

'But don't count out the drivers behind, there is an Alpine, UP TO SECOND. It will not be a perfect day for Ferrari, but they will be more focused on what is coming next. There is the other Alpine, up to 4th place! The Alpines stealing the show here. But there is a storm brewing, a driver you always have to watch out for. Marshall comes to the line; HE STEALS POLE AWAY! The Ferrari dream has turned into a 2-4. The storm has let loose on Saudi Arabia, and it is a Red-Bull fan storm!' crofty jumping to his feet, going crazy with the other commentators, the fans in the stands also going absolutely crazy over this crazy finish.

'You are an absolute legend my friend, you just grabbed pole position. P1 mate!' Cole said, honestly not believing how in the world this happened.

'Yes team! Thats what we deserve! We're not going down like that!' Marshall responded in happiness. Punching the air in celebration.

The Red-Bull garage had also erupted into happiness as Marshall pulled through. Everyone hugging like they just won the championship, they needed this.

Chase can't help but smile as he saw al the happiness in front of him. He knew very well how capable Marshall was, he told him everything he knew about racing. Makes him think of the time Marshall was not loved by the racing community, disliked even. Oh, how the turn tables.

Marshall parked his car and celebrated like he won the race, but that is still to come. The Red-Bull fans cheering with him.

'How important was this pole today?' The interviewer asked, the chaos had died down and the media duties had arrived for all the drivers. 'Very important. If we want to challenge for the championship, we have to be fast, and we got it right today.' Marshall responded, happy about the result.

'Last time you got pole the win got, as described by Miles, "Taken away from you." Do you think you can change that tomorrow?' The interviewer asked with interest.

'I will try my very best tomorrow; I have confidence this car can fight.' Marshall said positively.

'How about your teammate, not the luckiest of weekends for him so far, any comment?' The interviewer asked.

'I mean I don't understand what all the talk is about. This track is difficult, it is his second race. He finished second in his first race so that says enough to me.' Marshall said with confidence.

'So, you think he will be fine?' The interviewer asked.

'I am saying that this is only his second race, and on a very difficult track. That is hard for every driver.' Marshall commented.

Raceday

'Coming right up, the race that has never gone without a yellow flag in DF2 and DF1. A place that has seen crazy battles that would lead up to the championship finale, but now the track has been thrown to the front of the season, the fights not less important. This track is always an exciting track to look forward to and I can't wait to see the drivers get to it.' Crofty reported with excitement.

'Two very different races for these two. One hoping to defend to win the race, and the other having to fight through the field to hopefully grab some points.' Alex explained. 'He won't start last though, due to engine issues Gomez will be pushed back 3 places which will put him in last. Not great news for Chase, because Gomez has a nickname for a reason.'

Marshall was on the grid, sitting together with Danny and the Alpine drivers, Jackie and Felix. Jackie being the best female racing driver in the business, only thing holding her back from fighting for the podiums is the car. And then you have Felix, nicknamed Gasly as he is basically a dog version of Pierre Gasly. A French driver with very decent pace. The drivers trying to grab a moment of peace whilst being right beside a track filled with people, media people making pictures of the group and people from the LifeStream filming the drivers chill as they prepared for a long race. Chase on the other hand was basically just praying for turn one. The Alfa Romeo driver Gomez behind him was nicknamed Gunner / the Spanish torpedo by Danny when those two drivers were still very young. The Spanish driver known for not knowing how to brake into turn one.

Chase put on his helmet letting all doubt and annoying feelings disappear as he went into focus mode. He got into his car staring to the back of the Alpha Tauri in front of him. Miles came and wished him the best of luck before having to disappear to the pitlane.

'The formation lap comes and goes, the drivers preparing for one of the toughest races of the year. A race of nutrition, a race of survival.' Crofty said as the drivers lined up on the grid, on his feet as he prepares for the turn 1 chaos. 'All drivers are in place and await the lights, the marshal waves the green flag and here come the lights!'

All drivers stare at the lights, completely frozen, ready to go.

'And the lights go out at Saudi Arabia! Marshall gets the perfect start and sails away from the Ferrari behind. Chase also has a decent start and has gained two places, up into 17th place.' Crofty said watching the screens.

'Here comes turn one, Rocco braking late, now side by side with the Alpine of Felix.'

Jackie looks behind her, seeing Rocco try the overtake on her teammate. She sighed knowing what was about to happen. Rocco locking up and going straight on, taking Felix in the Alpine with him off the road. All the drivers behind having to react very quickly to the crash. The Mercedes that qualified way higher than he should, unable to avoid the Ferrari and crashing into the back of him. Chase having to react quickly to all the chaos around him, luckily getting through safely. Gunner unable to react as Chase moved past the Mercedes, shooting into the back of the Mercedes, the halo protecting the dog against the car as he ends up under the Mercedes.

'Are you okay?' The race engineer asked Gomez

'Yes, I'm okay.' Gomez responded. 'Can't get out myself though, could use some assistance.'

'Marshall's are on their way.'

'Ah come on!' Felix yelled over the radio, his and Rocco's race over before it could really get started. 'Such an idiot!'

'Red flag, red flag. All cars to the pitlane.' Cameron reported. 'Nice job avoiding that, you are now p13. Just don't celebrate yet, i don't know where you will be put after the red flag.'

'Phew that was close.' Chase responded, calmly driving his car to pitlane in one piece. 'Everyone alright?'

'It's going to take them a moment to get the track cleared so you are free to exit your car, take a pee break or something, drink something cool.' Cameron said. 'Everyone is okay in that incident.'

Chase got out of his car and walked to the Red-Bull garage, Marshall already there.

'How did your start go?' Marshall asked.

'P13, but I don't know where they'll put me for the restart.' Chase responded. 'Your start?'

'I had a great start so stayed P1. Could've been in a real bad spot if I didn't.' Marshall reported.

'Nice job, hopefully this red flag helps cool the car down, could help with the race.' Chase commented

Marshall nodded, the two pups looking at the screens watching the cars get towed away.

'What a crash.' Marshall commented.

'Yeah, I just suddenly saw two cars right in front of me as other drivers got out of the way. I got out of the way, but Gomez. Yeah, he gunned it.' Chase said.

'Great starts from you both! this will be an exciting one!' Russell said walking up to the two dogs.

'Let's hope we can repeat it.' Marshall said, looking at Chase with confidence, who nodded in response.

'This is going to be fun to watch.' Russell said, walking away again as more people started to walk around. Marshall and Chase went back to their cars as did the other drivers; the track finally cleared.

'Alright, how's the car?' Cole asked over the radio as Marshall got in his seat once again. 'Looking good so far cam, got any information for me?' Marshall responded looking at his steering wheel to make sure everything is in place.

'FIA doesn't want another pile up so we are doing a rolling start behind the safety car, like in Belgium last year in the rain. Requires some good focus from the driver up front.' Cole said.

'Alright, I'm ready in here.' Marshall responded.

'Go show em.' Cole said with a smile that you could hear through his voice.

The safety car came on track and the drivers drove out of the pits following behind the safety car.

'Careful on the tires, they still have quite a way to go.' Cole commented.

'Copy.' Marshall responded, taking care of his car as he got ready for the race to restart.

'Okay Chase you've been put back to p15, don't worry though, there is still a long race ahead which means a lot of opportunities.' Cameron told Chase over his radio.

'Copy, I'll give it my all.' Chase said with a seemingly calm and collected voice.

'Alright, we've had to wait a while, but the safety car is finally coming into the pitlane. It is now up to Marshall to dictate the pace until the start finish line when the overtaking returns to the circuit. Hopefully without a huge incident this time.' Crofty commentated.

'This is crucial for Marshall, if he doesnt get away well on this long straight, he will be a sitting duck to some very eager drivers behind him. Danny and surprise p3 sitter Jackie must be very eager to grab the lead from him.' Will added

'Here we go then, Marshall can decide to go any moment, he seems very patient with it, a risky strategy.'

Marshall looks in his mirrors, trusting the track to be where it is supposed to be looking at Danny behind. Danny is not easy to catch of guard, but this would be a great moment to change that. Marshall's eyes continuously going from his mirrors to the road in front of him. Then, Marshall spots his moment seeing what Danny was doing. Marshall went for it, pushing the throttle quickly. Looking in the mirrors he smiles as he sees a big enough gap between him and Danny. Braking into the first corner Marshall stays ahead, now time to push this car a little away from the pack.

'What a start from Marshall, to catch an experienced driver like that is incredible and takes a lot of bravery.' Will said, watching Marshall in awe.

'Alright Chase, let's go have some fun.' Cameron said.

'Copy.' Chase responded. The cars in front of him were having a big battle, Chase having to be patient and wait for his moment, this could take a while.

'It is pitstop time ladies, gentleman and dogs. The pit stop window for the one stop is here which means it is time for some excitement, who will dive into the pits first?' Crofty said, trying to bring excitement back to a pretty boring start to the grand prix.

'There is movement in the pitlane, the midfield is about to mix up.' Will added.

'Okay Chase, p13 currently. Field around us is about to pit, we are thinking of going long. Nurture the tires, tell me how it feels. Marshall is going long too so let's keep communicating.' Cameron reported to Chase.

'I'll try, but the tires are not in great shape from this DRS train I've been in.' Chase responded, a bit annoyed. He saw his chances of points slip away as the cars in front of him stopped him from improving up the field.

'Do you want some clean air, we can switch strategy and then you have some room to push.' Cameron asked, trying to help his driver out.

'Yeah, sounds good.' Chase said. 'Just tell me when to come in.'

'Alright, gives these tires a final push, we are boxing this lap.' Cameron reported. 'Please confirm box this lap.'

'Boxing this lap.' Chase responded.

Chase entered the pits, going for his one and hopefully only stop.

'Marshall controls the pace at the front, Danny three seconds behind him, Jackie behind Danny in p3 probably having a big smile on her face. Now Chase is coming in, maybe a little earlier than he'd hope. He is going to have to last long on these tires if he wants to make it to the end!' Crofty called out

The pitstop was quick, good start to the stint. Before Chase realized he was standing still, he was driving again, the feeling of a successful pitstop like no other. Chase drove out of the pitlane, having a bit of free space to push.

Meanwhile Marshall was in a good healthy lead at the front, but again, that was the case last race too.

'How are your tires doing?' Cole asked over the radio.

'They are doing well, are we still on plan E?' Marshall asked.

'Yes, if you feel like it needs changing let me know.' Cole responded.

'Copy.' Marshall said, starting lap 17.

'Okay we are coming in this lap.' Cole reported. 'Pit confirm please.'

Marshall clicked the button he needed to press. 'Copied.' He spoke.

'Give em a final push.' Cole said, he knew there was no need saying that. But sometimes you have to make your job as fun as possible when you work with good drivers who have a good understanding of what is expected of them.

As lap 18 rolled around Marshall came into the pitlane, Danny and Jackie following him, not wanting to lose more time to him, or a possible opportunity at the win.

Marshall came out of the pits, a good pitstop once again. 'Nice job team.' Marshall commented on the radio for some motivation for his crew.

'Alright, no need to raise the gap behind, just make sure you bring it home.' Cole reported. 'You've got this.'

'Copy.' Marshall responded, driving his car around the beautiful Saudi track, preparing for a long hopefully lonely race.

Meanwhile Chase was in 11th place, pushing for points, the early pit stop paying off for now, but would it by the end?

'Alright, we need 2 tenths to match the time of the car ahead.' Cameron reported, trying to get Chase to pick up some pace.

'I'm already pushing.' Chase responded. 'I'm trying.' Chase said, not knowing what else to do. The track was long, and the cockpit was hot. A bit lit like Singapore; the track seemed like an endless tunnel you were driving through for around two hours straight, a tough place to keep focus. Chase kept trying, but as he got closer to the end, he realized his tires were probably not making it to the end, he could forget points. Chase slid around the track trying to keep pace, but the sliding didn't help his pace.

'We still have a set of soft tires, those will definitely make it to the end from here, want to switch?' Cameron asked.

'Yeah, at this point staying out would lose me more time.' Chase said, seeing a DRS train of 4 cars closing in on him with great speed.

'Okay, pit confirm then. Pitting for softs.' Cameron said, Chase confirming and coming into the pits, hearing the cars race by him whilst he was limited to 60 km/h.

'Alright, just try to have some fun for the final laps.' Cameron said as Chase exited the pitlane.

Meanwhile the nervousness was building up at Red-Bull, with only 3 laps to go Marshall was well in the lead.

'Update on car and tires?' Cole asked, his right foot nervously going up again as he hoped on his first race win with Marshall

'Car feeling good, tires are well managed.' Marshall responded.

Alright i'll leave you alone now, almost there buddy.' Cole said, looking at Miles sitting right beside him, who seemed to be as nervous as him. Marshall just focused on the task at hand as he heard the crowd getting louder as Marshall got closer to his first race win, okay and maybe a few Alpine fans cheering on Jackie, still holding strong in p3.

'Final lap.' Cole reported. Basically hugging onto the strategist next to him as he watched Marshall clear the track like it was clockwork.

'He got close last year, he got oh so close in Bahrain. But the wait, is now finally coming to an end. With his old teammate cheering him on, Marshall comes through the final corner successfully. Marshall crosses the line TO BECOME A GRAND PRIX WINNER, HERE IN SAUDI ARABIA! What a strong drive from him!

'YYYEEEESSSSS, LET'S GOO! LET'S GOOO!' Marshall exclaimed as he crossed the line, waving at his team standing on the fence celebrating with him.

'THAT IS A GRAND PRIX WIN MY FRIEND, WHAT A DRIVE. Ahhhhh I was so nervous you don't even know.' Cole happily said through the radio, mentally and physically recovering from that drive.

'Your breathing gave that away.' Marshall joked.

'Marshall, you are a grand prix winner, a very well-deserved result for you buddy, enjoy it.' Miles said, coming onto Marshall's radio.

'Thank you Miles, thank you team. This season has only just begun.' Marshall confidently said.

'Fully agree with you mate.' Cole responded.

All drivers drove back to pitlane, Chase thinking about what he possibly could've done to better this result.

'Unlucky today, though race. We have better races coming.' Cameron told Chase over the radio.

'Yeah, just lack some pace on this track, i'll work on it for sure, we'll come back stronger.' Chase responded.

'Agreed.' Cameron said.

'Did Marshall win?' Chase asked.

'He sure did.' Cameron responded.

'Oh that's great!' Chase said, happy the team got some good points in anyway. Chase parked his car and quickly got out, already seeing Marshall run to his team in celebration.

Marshall celebrated with his team, high fiving Russell in the process.

'Great job today, you sure showed them.' Russell said, complimenting the drive.

'Thanks, couldn't have done it without your support.' Marshall responded, before having to get weighed and get ready for interviews. Watching Jackie celebrate with her team too, as she made it to p3. Fist bumping with Danny as he passed by. 'Great drive.' Danny said before running off to his team to celebrate some good points.

The interviews started and Marshall was up first

'Marshall, tell us, how was that drive for you today?' The interviewer asked.

'I cannot complain, team worked hard to get the cars in tip top shape for today, and they sure did a great job.' Marshall said with a smile on his face.

'How does it feel, being a Grand Prix winner?'

'Pawsome, to finally park at that number one board is a pretty special moment. I'm rally happy, now we just have to kep it up.' Marshall said with some confidence and some humor in his voice.

'You make it sounds so simple, alright, enjoy that victory Marshall.'

'Thank you.' Marshall responded, walking off and watching the others get interviewed from the side, his personal trainer Aaron coming towards him, giving him a hug.

'You did it man, what a drive.' Aaron said. 'Really proud of you.'

'Thanks.' Marshall responded, drinking from the nice cool water Aaron put down for him. Then Chase came up to him.

'Congrats man.' Chase said, giving Marshall a fist bump and a hug.

'Thanks, did you get points?' Marshall asked.

'No, couldn't keep pace and tires went off to early, but had a bit of fun overtaking.' Chase reported.

'Nice.' Marshall added.

'Danny, you gave it your all today I can see, how do you look towards today's result?'

'It's not the most optimal result, but it's the optimal we could do today. Marshall was just to fast, everything else we did right. I'm still in the lead of the championship, looking forward to the fight in the coming rounds.' Danny said, giving Marshall a thumps up as he talked about him.

'You are already looking towards the championship; do you think it will be plain sailing or do you see some competition rising?'

Danny laughed. 'Wouldn't it be great if a championship could go plain sailing these days, it may be a big thing in F1, but those seasons just don't seem possible in DF1, though I feel like that might change in the future.' Danny said with full honesty. 'For now, it's a Max Verstappen thing, the season is long, there is a lot of work to be done by everyone.'

'And then we have just one more dog to interview. Jackie, wow, how does it feel, to change teams and get your first podium in the second race for them.

'Yeah, i mean a podium is a dream result when you are not in a Red-Bull or a Ferrari. We had some luck on the way, but this car has pace, hopefully we can build on it and see if we can challenge these great drivers and tams very soon.' Jackie said with a smile that couldn't be wiped of her face.

'Do you see a race win coming soon?'

'If we can keep up the development you never know what might happen.' Jackie said with confidence and more smiling.

Marshall, Danny and Jackie went to a cooldown room, watching the turn one crash and watching the midfield battle that happened on track. Then the 3 drivers went out on the podium, Marshall proudly listening to the anthems played and celebrating his trophy with the team. The 3 pups had a blast and celebrations for the top 3 teams lasted longer than the LifeStream was active for.

The next day Marshall, Chase and Russell were in the airport, Chase and Marshall were going home for a few days before preparations for Australia would begin, Russell was going back to his home with his private plane which his owner managed to get for him.

'Nice to see you again Russell.' Marshall said, happy to have seen his buddy again.

'Ah no problem, it was a blast watching both of you. I see championship winners in you two, I know you guys can do it.' Russell said, smiling at both Marshall and Chase.

'When are you planning to come again?' Chase asked curiously, not updated by Marshall.

'Monaco probably, i have a lot of work to do in the meantime. But don't worry, i'm watching every session, you guys are so enjoyable to watch.' Russell responded.

'Pawsome.' Chase said.

'Alright, my plane is ready, see you in Monaco.' Russell said, waving to the two pups.

'Have a nice flight.' Marshall said, both pups watching Russell walk away as they still had a bit of waiting to do before they could get on the plane they were going with.

'Better make the season exiting so Russell has something entrtaining to watch when we go to Monaco.' Chase joked.

'We definitely should.' Marshall joked back.
