A/N Well, here it is, the next to the last epilogue. As I indicated, it is very short. The following one, which will be entirely different, will be short as well.

I do not own Star Trek Enterprise or any of the related characters. Star Trek Enterprise was created by Rick Berman and Brandon Braga and is owned by Paramount. The shuttle landed at the entrance to a dirt path sloping slightly up to a Vulcan temple.

T'Les and her son Sonat stepped out into the heat. Unlike her mother, T'Les was Vulcan in reference to love and romance. She had spent a long time wondering whether she should marry.

But in the end, she had decided she needed to carry forward Jonathan Archer's lineage.

She had a Vulcan marriage to a man named Sonal. Sonat had been conceived during Pon Farr. Since then they had a typical Vulcan marriage with her husband agreeing their son could spend his time with her.

For the second time in her life, T'Les had received news that a parent was dying. However, this time there was no publicity, no crowds. She had been on Earth and knew that her mother would not want her situation in the public eye.

After Jonathan died, T'Pol had spent much of her time alone at their home in Malibu only occasionally making public appearances. Then she had decided she no longer had ties to Earth and returned to Vulcan and had spent the last years of her life meditating at a remote temple.

She had returned to Earth on two occasions. One was to receive an honor for her and Jonathan. Each received a lifetime appreciation medal for their contributions to the Federation.

T'Les had accepted for her father.

After the ceremony, T'Pol had surprised T'Les by traveling to Mercy McBride's grave. More to her astonishment, T'Pol, checking to be sure no one was around, dug a hole in the grave and buried her medal.

She then turned to T'Les and told her that Jonathan would have wanted her to have his medal.

As they made their way back to the shuttle, T'Les realized in a strange way she had a sister.

The second time she returned to Earth was for the christening of the new starship Enterprise.

Prior to that she had been visited by a young Vulcan named Spock. She was intrigued by the fact he was half human. He had sought her out because he was contemplating attending Starfleet Academy and wanted her guidance.

She told him that Humans were everything that many felt. They were emotional, arrogant, and had often caused her to wonder if they should have ever left Earth. But they were also an amazing race that continued to surprise her. She had come to have a deep respect for them, and in her case, became emotionally connected to them.

After meeting with the Captain and the crew, she watched Enterprise lift off, smiling to herself at the thought of another Vulcan being the Science Officer.

T'Les and Sonat had just passed the half-way point in their trek when she stopped. Something had changed. She realized that the bond she had with her mother since she was born was gone. She knew that T'Pol had died.

With her son quizzically looking at her, she informed him what had happened, struggling to contain her emotions. She was gratified when he reached out and took her hand. Smiling gratefully at him, they continued up the path, hand in hand.

They were nearing their destination when T'Les stopped again. To her amazement she felt her mother's presence again. Then to her utter astonishment and joy, she heard something she would have never thought to hear again, her father's voice.

"T'Pol, it is about time. I have been waiting for you."

Her mother answered in that loving, condescending voice she often used with him, "Jonathan, you of all people should know how much longer Vulcans live than humans."

Then, although she never understood how, T'Les knew that the two entities were merging. And even though they retained their identities, they were now One, never to be separated.

Again her father spoke, "T'Les, we want you to know that we will always love you. And no matter where we go, we will always be with you."

"I love you both as well. Where are you going, Father?"

She felt her father's smile, "Who knows, it is a vast universe."

She then felt them depart, but as he had said, she sensed there was still a part of them with her.

Putting her arms around her son's shoulders, she told him what had transpired as they continued their journey.
