'Harley is such a twat,' Misty giggled. 'I heard that your friend May hates him.'

'Yes, she does,' Ash said. 'Oh well, at least he is no longer dating Giovanni.'

'Hey, do you remember that time your mum came on the show?' Misty giggled, while putting a VHS tape in the VHS player.

2015 - 'I want my son to give me grandchildren'

'JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!' the audience chanted, while the talk show host entered the stage in the television studio.

'Hello, welcome to the show. Our next guest is dealing with grandbaby fever. Please welcome Delia to the show,' Jerry said.

'Hi Jerry,' Delia said.

'Why are you here?' Jerry asked.

'Well Jerry, I have grandbaby fever. I want my son Ash, who is my only child, to give me my first grandchild.'

'How old is your son?'

'He is 27 years old. And so is Misty, his girlfriend. They have been together for five years now and live together for three years. It's time for them to give me grandchildren! I've been waiting long enough. I wanna be a granny!'

'Have Ash and his girlfriend ever indicated that they want to have children?' Jerry asked.

'No, they haven't,' Delia answered. 'Every time I see Ash and Misty, I ask them when they are going to make me a nan. And every time, they tell me that they want to remain childfree.'

'If they don't want to have children, why do you keep asking them about it? It sounds like they gave you a pretty clear answer.'

'Because I want grandchildren! They need to stop being selfish. They need to consider my needs as well. And I need grandbabies!'

'How is that selfish?' Jerry asked. 'Don't you think it's selfish to expect someone to have children against their will, purely so you can be a grandmother?'

'No,' Delia said with a straight face. She had no idea why Jerry implied that she was selfish for expecting her son to procreate.

'Don't you think that children deserve to be wanted?' Jerry asked. 'People should only have children if they want to be a parent.'

'JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!' the audience chanted.

'But if they don't have children, Ash and Misty will miss out on so much happiness!' Delia protested.

'What makes you happy isn't necessarily what makes Ash and Misty happy,' Jerry answered. 'Anyways, why are you here?'

'I am here to demand that Ash and Misty give me the grandchildren I am entitled to!' Delia answered.

'You are not entitled to grandchildren,' Jerry said. 'Grandchildren are a bonus. Not something that you are entitled to. Anyways, let's bring out Ash, your son, and Misty, your daughter-in-law.'

A raven-haired young man and a red-haired young woman entered the stage and took a seat next to each other.

Delia walked up to the couple. 'Ash, Misty, it's time for you two to stop fooling around. You two have been together for five years now. It's time to have children!'

'Mum, that's not happening,' Ash said. 'How many times do we have to tell you? Misty and I are not having children!'

'You'll change your mind!' Delia protested.

'No, we won't!' Misty snapped. 'Most childfree people don't change their mind! And why does everybody tell us childfree people that we will change our minds? We never tell people who want kids that they will change their minds!'

'Misty is right about that,' Jerry said.

'No, she isn't!' Delia yelled. 'I mean, who will take care of Ash and Misty when they are old?'

'Mum, trained nurses in a care home or retirement home will take care of us.' Ash said. 'They actually get paid to do it and are trained to do this.'

'Yeah! And it's selfish and unethical to have children against your will, purely to have a caretaker when you are old,' Misty added to that. 'People should only have children if they genuinely want to be a parent, which Ash and I just don't.'

'But don't you want to carry on your legacy?' Delia asked.

'Mum, I am the Champion of Kanto and Johto. Misty is an Elite Four member. We don't need children to have a lasting legacy,' Ash answered.

'Son, Misty's biological clock will start ticking in a few years. Then, you'll have to become a father!' Delia yelled.

'Bullshit!' Misty snapped. 'The biological clock is a patriarchal myth. A misogynistic male writer came up with it in the seventies.'

'But Misty, all women are meant to be mothers!' Delia protested.

'No! Motherhood and womanhood are NOT synonyms!' Misty snapped. 'Motherhood is optional. Not mandatory!'

'But Misty, if everyone thought like you and Ash, humanity would go extinct!' Delia said.

'That may be true, but not everybody thinks like Ash and Misty,' Jerry said. 'Most people have children. A small minority of people remaining childfree isn't going to threaten the future of humanity.'

'JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!' the audience chanted.

'I always thought that I would be a grandmother around the time my son was in his late twenties,' Delia cried. 'My son is denying me grandchildren!'

'I'm not denying you anything,' Ash said. 'Sure, I'm not giving you what you want, but I'm not denying you anything. In order to deny you something, you have to be entitled to that thing. But you are not entitled to grandchildren. I am not obligated to give you grandchildren.'

'Your son is right, Delia. And you always expected to be a grandmother by now, but the problem here is that you were expecting something that you shouldn't be expecting,' Jerry said. 'You seemed to believe that you were certainly going to be a grandma at some point, but having children doesn't gurantee that you will have grandchildren.'

'But Jerry, what if Ash's and Misty's hypothetical child grows up to find the cure for cancer?' Delia asked. 'They owe it to society to have children!'

'Yeah, and what if their hypothetical child becomes the new Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Margaret Thatcher, Boris Johnson or Donald Trump?' Jerry asked.

'JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!' the audience screamed.

'But Jerry, you are a father. You should understand that life is meaningless if you don't have children!' Delia whined.

'No, it's not. Different people find meaning in different things,' Jerry said. 'You found meaning in motherhood. But there are plenty of childfree and childless people who found meaning in their lives without having children.'

'JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!' the audience screamed.

'Yeah! Our lives have meaning! We have each other. We have our Pokemon. And we have you!' Ash said. 'That's enough for us.'

'But why?' Delia asked. 'Why don't you want children?'

'Because both Ash and I don't experience the desire to have children,' Misty said. 'And parenthood would be our biggest nightmare. We understand that some people love parenthood, but different people want different things.'

'So you two hate children?' Delia asked. 'Do you two want to murder children?'

'No, of course not! Sure, I don't like being around children, but of course I don't want to murder them! I wish them nothing but the best. I just prefer to avoid them,' Misty answered.

'And I like kids, but just don't want my own,' Ash said. 'I like taking on the role of a fun uncle for Tracey's and Daisy's son, but I don't want to be a father. That's just not the kind of life I want to live. Which is why I got a vasectomy last year.'

'WHAT THE FUCK?' Delia screamed. 'Misty, you fucking slut! It's your fault that Ash got snipped! You pressured him into this, didn't you? You should have stopped him!'

'What the fuck? Fuck you!' Misty snapped. 'Ash is an adult who made his own decision! Getting a vasectomy was his idea! He went to the doctor and asked for a vasectomy!'

Delia got up from her chair and ran towards the red-haired young woman. She tried to grab her daughter-in-law and throw her on the ground, but Misty managed to escape and defended herself by punching Delia on her cheek.

'JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!' the audience chanted.

When Delia stood up and tried to kick Misty in the pussy, Jerry's Chikorita decided to intervene. The Pokemon used his Vine Whip to pull Misty away from Delia.

'CHIKO! CHIKO! CHIKO!' the audience screamed.

'Chiko! Chiko!' the Pokemon squealed.

'You're a bitch, Mrs. Ketchum!' Misty yelled.

'Misty, haven't you learned to respect your elders? I'm your mother-in-law!' Delia snapped.

'Yeah, but you called me a slut first!' Misty countered.

Ash took his girlfriend's side. 'That's true, Mum. You did. You can't complain about Misty calling you a bitch if you call her a slut first.'

Jerry walked up to the woman with grandbaby fever. 'Delia, I get that you want to be a grandmother. But in the end, it's up to Ash and Misty to decide whether they want to have children or not. It's ridiculous to expect them to become parents against their will, just because you want to be a grandmother.'

Delia burst out in tears. 'I just didn't think that Ash would actually get a vasectomy. It's so permanent now! If he wouldn't have gotten that surgery, I'm certain that he would have changed his mind.'

'Bullshit!' Ash yelled. 'If the doctor would've refused to snip me, I would still be using condoms right now. And then, Misty would keep on using birth control pills until she reaches menopause. Fortunately, we no longer need to use contraceptives.'

'Yeah, but birth control could fail!' Delia countered. 'I'm sure that Misty would have been happy if she got pregnant by accident.'

'No, I wouldn't be! If that would've happened, I would've gone straight to the abortion clinic!' Misty snapped.

'So you would have aborted my grandbaby? How could you, you little whore?' Delia yelled.

'My body, my choice! I don't want to be a mother,' Misty said. She stormed towards Delia again. Her fist was ready to strike her mother-in-law. However, before she could hurt Ash's mother, Chikorita pulled her away with his Vine Whip.

'CHIKO! CHIKO! CHIKO!' the audience chanted.

'Anyways, let's wrap this up,' Jerry said. 'Delia, you need to accept that this isn't your decision to make. Ash and Misty are adults. It's up to them to make decisions about their own lives. Not up to you.'

'But Ash is my little boy! He is my son, so I should get to have a say in his life choices!' Delia yelled.

'No, he's not a little boy! He's 27 years old!' Jerry countered. 'Yes, he is your son. But you need to accept that he is an adult now. An adult who makes his own decisions. You don't get to have a say in those decisions.'

'JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!' the audience chanted.

While Delia burst out in tears again, Misty put her hand in Ash's trousers and rubbed his cock, which got hard. 'Let's have some fun when we get home, Ash!'

'Hell yeah!' an overjoyed Ash moaned.

Then, Jerry addressed the audience for his final thoughts. 'Letting go is difficult for parents. Many mothers still feel like their adult sons are little boys. However, someday, little boys grow up and become men. Men who make their own decisions. If you are a parent, you need to accept those decisions, even if you don't like the decisions your child makes. I understand that Delia wants to be a grandmother, but she needs to accept that this is not up to her to decide. Children deserve to be wanted. If Ash and Misty don't want to be parents, not having children is the only right decision they could make. They should never be expected to become parents against their will, just because Delia wants to be a grandmother. Until next time, take care of yourself and each other.
