Chapter 3: Ah yes, 100 Days in Minecraft

Steven is bubbling with excitement because finally, a End city! After his very long journey in the End, he finally found something new other than floating islands with thin and tall purple trees in the pitch black void.

He fix his fedora on his head and his sling backpack and examined the city it self. With everything he could think of being set, he head towards the nearest building.

In the games, Steven had always found the end city interesting whenever he played minecraft. The castle like tower with branching tree like astetics was just totally cool for the fifteen year old him in the past every time he tried to hunt down elytra.

Its still does to be honest.

But all of that are nothing to the very real, life size thing in front of him.

Its, to simply put, massive.

Piercing through the void like sky that he could barely see it through, branching rooms so wide and far that only minecraft physics could ever support and a floating ship floating in the air suspended by absolutely nothing.

Its amazingly breath taking.

After committing the view to his mind, Steven entered the ancient abandoned city in the void and step to the main floor is immediately greeted by a spiralling stair case to the upper levels of the city.

He supressed a giggle as he make his way up to the stairs when–

Bylat

"Oh fudge…"

Shulkers. He hadn't notice them prior and he forgot about them over the excitement of finding the End City and getting loots.

He should have known better.

He heared another dry, and throaty retching sound from above as a group of shulkers unscrewed their shells to peak at him.

Seconds later they let out another sound as they began firing sparkling projectiles homing at him.

"—AAAAAAAAAAAAA—!"

With floating, sparkly projectiles homing after him, Steven climb through the spiral stair case like his life depends on it.

…Which it kinda does at the moment.

Finally running towards the end of the stairs and reaching the corridors leading to the other paths of the End city, Steven rummage to his bag and pullout a butterfly knife disguise and designed by his uncle to be smuggled anywhere even with x-rays and metal detectors (it was meant for self defense he swear–), and swiped at the incoming projectiles and they scattered to sparkling dust with every successful hit.

He let out a sigh of relief as soon as the horde of prohectiles were all gone. Seriously, thats quite a shocker, Steven doesnt want to experience that ever aga—

Bylat

"Oh crab–oof!"

Then all of a sudden, a handful of purple particles filled Steven's vision as he felt the world shift, tilt, then next thing he knew is that he's standing behind a shulker.

"Huh…?"

Steven blinked as familiar feeling of teleportation washed over him. He stumbled for a second, feeling a bit out of balance at the sudden displacement. Its strange, feeling the same sensation he felt whenever he used a enderpearl but with out the normal recoil damage that he experience everytime he used one. But he shrugged it off as fast as he could the moment he noticed the shulker in front of him and hear it make another vomitting sound.

He then swing his knife full force at the mob in front of him.

It took him two full powered slash, both being crit (he was initially surprised by the sudden appearance of the crit hit particles but ignored it at the moment in favor of killing the hostile mob), to fully defeat the mob. The shulker didn't even get the chance to teleport away from danger.

He release a shaky breath that he didnt know he was holding and slump to the wall and to the floor.

Oh god. Steven thought, steadying his breathing as he lean on the wall. He looked at his butterfly knife and slowly close it safely.

That was really intense. Sure he knew how to wield a weapon, his uncle taught him how after all but never in his entire life that he imagine that he would actually use the skill it self.

He sighed once again as stand from from the floor. He dust his back off and noticed something. He look at the folded knife in his hand then to his hotbar.

"Eh?"

Carbon Balisong

Apparently, it turns out that real world items could be also registered by whatever system this minecraft world runs in as well. Its how he learned that his sling bag work similarly as a shulker box after all. Just better since he could access whats inside the bag without placing it on the ground and just automatically expand his accesible inventory by a lot compared to a shulker box which he would need to place on the ground to access.

That said though…

"Carbon? Really?"

Give it to his uncle to go over board and make his butterfly knife with high end tech.

Then again uncle was a scientist and an inventor working for a very rich and eccentric nice person at UK.

(He remembered meeting the man by only a handful of times whenever he was with his uncle. The man was nice, handsome, rich, smart, athletic, unbelievably charismatic, eccentric and very good with children, to sum it all though?

The man was lowkey perfect, Steven thought that he had met a real life Gary Stu.

…or Batman with how many kids, skills and doctorate the man managed to picked about absolutely everywhere.

Huh, now that he thought about it, he does have the same vibe and similarity as batman.

Except the married and being a weeb–I mean a very avid anime fan part—)

His uncle's work place and boss aside, he focused on the fact that he teleported without enderpearls earlier. As its been established before, Steven is incapable of teleporting on his own, rather he doesn't know how. The only way he could teleport is through enderpearl so how did he–oh.

Right, he was about to be hit by the shulkers projectile attack before he teleported and Enderman teleport automatically whenever they were about to be hit by a projectile attack.

Geez, he can't believe he forgot about that. Did the reincarnation jumbled up his mind? He well hope it didn't or his years spent in college may end up useless.

Steven shake his head, trying shake off the negative thoughts in his mind. No use in dwelling on negative thoughts and scaring himself further with a bunch of what if's in this kind of situation as there are more things that is much more important in the moment, Like looting the end city of anything valuable.

Steven inhaled from his nose and exhaled on his mouth, steadying his breathing and calming his mind like his uncle had taught to him when he was young. He feel his body becoming relaxed and somewhat lighter after doing so. After that, he start wandering the halls, going to the next room there is.

There are loots waiting for him after all.

It took Steven hours to completely loot the entire city.

He mined everything he found and looted everything that he could. End rods, End brickstone, purpur blocks, even stained glass pane the moment he realised that he had built in silk touch with his hand due to his enderman powers.

He looted chest, armors, tools, potions, echanted books, chest, banners, even wooden ladders itself wasn't spared.

He did make sure to replace the wooden ladders with blocks stairs so that it could still be accessed later on.

Then he reached the highest loot room in the city. One consisted of a chest and an enderchest guarded by shulkers in from each corners of the upper most part of the room.

Steven's eyes lingered at the enderchest specifically.

More inventory space, the better.

Not wasting time, Steven let the shulkers notice him, waiting for the mobs to unscrewed their shells on their own.

Noting his pressence, the shulkers retracted their shells open with a accompanying 'bylat' sound. Not letting the mobs to shoot, Steven pulled put his new enchanted diamond sword and throw a ender pearl.

He vanished in a puff of purple partilces, apearing right on top of them. He ignored the recoil damage and with a swift move, Steven swing his sword, his spindly long arms providing such force and momentum that effortly turns his swing in to a critical hit.

The mob died right after with a cry and a puff of smoke before turning around his body to face the other shulker at the other side of the room, letting the incoming shulker bullet hit him in the chest.

He let out a subtle 'oof!' from being hit before vanishing in another puff of purple particles and a 'Znng' before reappearing in front of the mob and killing it with a single crit hit.

With all the shulkers that he killed on his way up here, Steven's level shot to [Level Nine] from his previous [Level Six]. Three levels doesn't seems much but the power boost that it give him? It's enough to turn a single crit hit from a enderman like Steven equipped with a enchanted Diamond Sword very very lethal. Lethal enough to oneshot a mob like the shulker who has 15 hearts if he remembered correctly.

Which is makes fighting shulkers easy since they would have no chance of teleporting away if they got one shot already.

Steven wiped the sweat of his forehead and let out a sigh of relief as the mob banished and he got left alone in the room with the chests.

"Finally…"

Putting back his sword in his inventory, Steven started looting the wooden chest first. The beetroots, their seeds, saddle, ingots, weapons, enchanted books, Armor Trims–(Okay, note to self. Find and reserve a Netherite Armor for the Armor trim if he ever manage to escape the end and reach the Nether.

…What? He like netherite!)

–so on so forth.

Yes, even the Horse Armors.

(He's very lucky that the first End City he found has so many loot)

He mined the empty wooden chest before turning to the Enderchest beside it.

His inventory is nearing full as it is with some of the… non-essential loot he had.

Look, a loot is a loot. And it doesn't feel right to just leave them there when he could just… you know, take them.

"…"

Oh God, he's starting to sound like that one friend of his with kleptomania…

Developing bad habits aside, Steven stuff the loots that he doesn't immediately needed in to the Enderchest to free up more inventory space.

The purple particles that the chest let out whenever it was open looks cool and fascinating by the way.

He spend five minutes closing and opening the chest just to observe the phenomenon. (He is defenitely not playing around it, it's for science, he swear. In the name of science. Yeah, Definitely)

Now with the end city looted, Steven has one last thing to loot.

"ELYTRA!" He exclaimed happily with stars in his eyes in excitement.

With that, he mined the enderchest with his hands and quickly climb to the rooftop.

Standing at the roof top, Steven eyed the faraway end ship floating in the air at the end city skies.

It looks awesome.

Also, a little far away for his liking…

It's really a good thing that he has very long limbs now. Steven is pretty sure that his pitchs are way better than a professional baseball player now…

Steven reared his arms, bend his knees and fall in to a pitching stance, he gripped the enderpearl in his hand as arms tense and—

Zooom!

The enderpearl sailed through the air and land at crows nest' side. Steven let the warping sensation take him and braced for the recoil as he reappear few feet above the ships poop deck.

"Gahh!" He yelped as he felt gravity pulled him down and immediately latched to the ships crows nest in fear of falling down before hastily reaching to the nearby ladder with his long limbs to get down from the height he found himself in to.

Steven stand up and rebalanced himself and grumbled. Thank God he manage to grab to the pole and to the ladder, fall damage sucks…

He look around and take a better look at the deck of the End ship itself before going inside to take what he's aiming for.

He pulled out his enchanted diamond sword as a giggle escape from his mouth from his barely contained excitement.

Well, you can't really blame Steven, he wants the Elytra.

bylat

He blocked the incoming shulker bullet with his sword and immediately close the distance with the help of his very long limbs and slash the shulker with a crit-hit, killing it in an instant.

From an outside perspective, its probably baffling, concerning even, with how fast Steven got used to fighting and eliminating mobs left and right. But Steven… he doesn't really have a normal childhood like other people.

Most of the time, he was raised by his uncle and his friends as well as coleagues, because of his neglectful parents. And to say that his uncle and his friends are normal is… well, they're the reason why Steven knew martial arts, how to use weapons, and things that most people have no bussiness knowing.

Steven love his uncle and his friends but he never outgrown the embarassment talking about the things he learned from them.

I mean, how do you explain that your uncle and his friends taught you 127 ways on how to break someone else's bones and how to make false identity and fake documents when you were ten???

Steven's own friends knew this And had accepted the fact, his weirdness and the quirks he picked up from them growing up with them with open arms and Steven love them for that.

(God, he missed them so much…)

He let out a sigh of loss and nostalgia remembering things from earth before he made his way inside the ship.

He mined the brewing stand and stashed the 2 instant health potion to his inventory, he then take a turn and got greeted once again by shulker bullets homing at him. He sighed and sweep them with his sword, only letting a single one hit him to teleport near the shulker and finish it with a crit-hit.

His eyes fell to the item frame on the wall with the elytra in it and grinned ear to ear, laughing in excitement as he tear down the Elytra from the wall, stashing the item frame to his inventory.

Steven fell silent as his form crouched a little, clutching the elytra to his chest awkwardly with his elongated limbs. His shoulder trembled, muffled sounds escaped from his closed mouth and…

"WOOOOOOHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHAAAAA!!!"

He raised the elytra to the air and spinned, swinging the elytra around like a mad man.

"EEEEEEEEEELLLLLLYYYYYYTRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Steven really likes the elytra.

He wasted no time and equiped it to himself on his screen panel featuring a full body avatar of himself.

Theres a shift in the air as he suddely feel the elytra equiped on his back like a cape that extended right down to the back of his knees. He did a spin and it fluttered as it followed his movements.

"This is soo awesome!!!"

He quickly ran to the stairs straight ot the ships deck to try it out.

Okay, he'll admit he did not think this through.

Steven lean to the edge and look straight down to the abyss below the ship.

He is, to simply put, getting the cold feet.

Is he really going to jump just to test the elytra? Sure he could enderpearl back to the ship if things go south but does he really want that? What if the elytra couldn't bear him? What if the elytra break all of the sudden? He can't imagine having the same weight as he did before his reincarnation/isekai experience. And what if his hand slip when throwing the Enderpearl? What if he missed?

Steven touch the elytra on his back, it ended behind his knees instead of reaching his feet and barely reaching the ground due to his height.

Use it? Or not use the Elytra?

Use it?

Not use the elytra?

Use it…?

Steven look below the ship once again as the abyss greeted him. Mocking him to jump down to see for himself.

"…"

Yeah, not using the elytra it is.

After looting the City, Steven sorted through his Loots.

He also wears the dragonhead over his head for a while in the process, figuring out how minecraft masks works a little.

It was cool by the way, it didn't impede on his vision like he expect it would. He remove it right after since it was kinda hard to balance on his head due to its size.

Also, with his loot now sorted out. He need a place to hoard them in.

And with a few improvements, the towering End City is just perfect for it.

He took out a end brick stone from his inventory and rolled up his sleeves up to his shoulders.

"Time to work then."

"Phew…"

Steven wiped his sweat as he grinned staring at his new base.

The previous branching tree like castle structure is now steamlined to a single tower with multiple rooms and floors as well as launching and landing pads on the highest part of the building it self for the usage of elytra.

…if he ever got the courage to use one at least.

On another note, having a base also means he get have his own room! No more cramp and dark spaces when sleeping. He did had to put slabs all over the floor to prevent Enderman from spawning in to the room. Which also means that he also has to crouch in his own room as well. A fair trade in exchange of preventing enderman spawning.

And with that, Steven go to sleep his double stacked purpur slab for a bed from exhaustion, using his bag and his spare t-shirt for pillow and blanket.

He has worked to do tomorrow after all.

Gettng his daily routine done after waking up, Steven arrange his inventory for his journey to find and loot more End city and End ships.

It would have been better if he could see X-Y-Z coordinates but he'll have to settle with making bridge from one island to another and every direction from his base.

…not a promising journey but it can't be help. If he wants a way to get off the end and reach the Over World, then he need to map out and gather what little resources he could find to his advantage in order to find and Defeat the Ender Dragon for him to be able to be free from the End.

A fight that he's not looking forward very very much. He doesn't want to die again after all.

Especially since he still haven't figured out how to teleport without enderpearls and the fact that he's supposed to fight a lowkey Eldritch Death Dragon from the Void.

Speaking of pearls, he's about to run out of them in his inventory due to his liberal usage whenever he get the chance. Either he restrict his use of them or, he shudders, kill more enderman for more.

He is… not really keen on killing humaniod semi-sentient, albeit blocky, entities himself so he decide to not use them unless its absolutely necessary.

So Steven then travelled, building bridges and markers every where he goes so the he could return to his base right after. It continued until he found a End City to loot, gathering more resources, elytra, tools, building blocks, enchanted books and potions. The cycle continues, as he find another one again and again and again.

Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

That was until he got a little impatient and decided to enderpearl his way down from the endship he just looted.

He winced and grunted at the recoil damage. he sighed and adjust his bag. All of a sudden, he heard something, like a mob and—

"Gahh!"

Something bit his foot! He looked down immediately to see what bit him and he is greeted by crawling, writhing, Endermite.

Violent purple haze filled his vision as the next thing he knew is nothing but inexplicable wrath and fury.

Steven pants.

His face still warped in fury as he snarled with his abnornally unhinged jaws.

The Endermite is nowhere in sight, his breathing began to settle and return to normal. His jaw slowly closed back as his glowing eyes began to dimmed.

By the time that he sobered up, Steven found himself standing on a crater created from his own outburst.

He looked down at the crater in horror then on to his own hands as he realized what just happen.

"Ah, Shitake mushrooms."

Words: Aproximately 3500

Heya! With work and all the procastination I experience, I didn't expect to actually finish a chapter! Especially since I only write at home because I never bring my phone at work.

I guess inspiration really do shine through at unexpected times.

I'm also really glad that I watch 100 days in the End by luke thenotable in youtube because I don't really have a idea on how to make the story go forward instead of endward to abandonment.

Anyway, I hope you like it! I hope that I could somehow work on the next chapter as well as my other works. I do wish that I could somehow put up a fix update schedule but I'm the wing it 'til manage something kind of guy and planning ahead for the future rarely work for me and only results in failure and disappointment.
