My, What Big Teeth You Have

Part I

It was dawn. Morning dew still present on the grass and leaves. Baby birds chirped to the mothers as they hunt for food. Deep in the woods deer stood, grazing the field, though not without caution. Predators might be near by. It just took a second of vulnerability.

Just as the deer put its lips down to the green grass, BAM!

"Holy shit, I got it." A tall teen dressed in camouflage said.

An older man dressed in an identical outfit smiled proudly as he patted the teen's back. "Good job, Finn. You'll never forget your first." The father and step-son approached the dead animal to begin the dressing process. "Alright, before we even start cutting, the deer needs to be belly up."

The man flipped the deer on its back then let Finn cut the dead animal starting from between its back legs all the way up to its breastbone, and continued to instruct Finn through every step. Finn had tied the deer up to make it easier to drag the animal through the woods when they heard an odd sound from the distance.

"Burt-"

"I heard it, too." Burt stood up and cautiously approached the outer skirts of the large, open field. "Stay here." He whispered as gripped his gun, just in case, and what he saw was not at all what he was expecting.

Two wolves ate away at another deer. One pure white with bright, hazel eyes, the other also white, but with gray spots in random areas of its body, from its face, tail, and paws. Is it possible, could there be wolves in Lima, Ohio?

Burt, slowly, got closer as he crouched low to the ground and behind a tree. At a closer inspection, he realized these weren't ordinary wolves, they're much larger. He couldn't believe his eyes, despite witnessing the animals right in front of him. Burt took a step back, wanting to create more distance between him and the unusually large wolves.

Crack!

Burt's eyes widened with fright. He unknowingly stepped on a stick, getting the attention of the two large animals. The white and gray wolf growled and showed its teeth as it slowly approached Burt. The pure white wolf, however, snapped at the other wolf.

The white and gray wolf snapped back. For a moment he thought the two wolves were going to fight one another, however, he wasn't so lucky. The white and gray wolf ran toward him, ignoring the pure white wolf.

"Run, Finn!" He shouted, running as fast as he could. "Run!"

Confused, Finn didn't run. Burt grabbed him by the jacket to pull him up then dragged him through the woods. Leaving the dead deer behind with its belly cut open and legs bound together.

"Why are we running?!"

"Look behind you!" Burt panted.

Finn looked behind him. "Holy shit!"

The teen began to run faster, passing Burt. The white and gray wolf was hot on Burt's heels as the man was struggling to run. Then suddenly, Burt tripped on a root.

"Burt!"

Finn went back for his step-father. He crouched down to help the man to his feet when the white and gray wolf caught up with them. Spotting a near by stick, Finn grabbed it just in time. The white and gray wolf went to snap at him, but, bit the stick instead. Luckily, it was thick enough that the wolf didn't snap it in half.

"Run, Burt!" Finn grunted and he struggled to fight off the wolf.

"I'm not leaving you!"

Finn struggled to keep the gray and white wolf's mouth away from his face still using the stick. For a moment he thought he was winning until the wolf shook his head causing Finn to go flying right into the trunk of a tree. The impact knocked him out cold.

"Finn!"

Burt wanted to be at Finn's side, however, with the teen knocked out, the gray and white wolf had set its eyes on him. He crawled backward as the abnormally large wolf stalked slowly toward him just because it could. Or, so it thought. Out of the blue, the forgotten pure white wolf pounced at the gray and white wolf.

The two large wolves fought each other. Every time the gray and white wolf managed to escape, it would attempt to attack Burt, but, the pure white wolf was relentless. It would pull the gray and white wolf by its tail and eventually it dragged the other wolf away.

Once Burt was confident the unusually large wolves weren't returning, he rushed to Finn's side. The teen was still unconscious and there was a cut on his head. Burt called 911.

He drove behind the ambulance all the way to the hospital. A paramedic instructed him to wait in the emergency room lobby, a doctor would be with him later to update him on the teen's condition. Burt called his wife, Finn's mom, during that time. He didn't even try to explain what happened, this needed to be said in person.

"What happened?!" Carol shouted as she rushed into the waiting room with Kurt, Burt's son, right behind her.

"Sit down, both of you. This will be a lot to take in, and, I'm not sure if you'll believe me. So, keep an open mind."

Carol frowned, confused. "What's going on, Burt? What happened to my son?" She asked teary eyed as Burt guided her to sit. Kurt sat on the other side of Carol.

As Burt explained what happened after Finn shot his first deer, he could see neither Carol nor Kurt, his own son, believed any of it.

"Wolves." Carol said with confusion and judgment. "You're telling me wolves hurt my son, Burt?! That's what you're telling me?!"

Burt sighed. "There were two, but, only one of them threw Finn against a tree."

Carol shook her head. "I don't believe this. Why don't you just tell me what happened?"

"I am, dammit!"

Carol covered her mouth, crying. Kurt looked confused and disappointed.

"Dad, there aren't any wolves in Lima. Especially not ones the size of bears."

Burt sat back in the chair with his head down.

"I'm tired of this." Said Carol. "I want to see a doctor."

Carol got up and went across the room to the receptionist desk. Kurt stayed behind with his father. Neither of them said anything else. The silence would've been awkward if it not had been for Carol returning.

"They don't know anything." She huffed in frustration.

More time passed as the trio wait on news of Finn's condition. Carol was so upset with Burt, she wouldn't even look at him. Kurt felt stuck in the middle. He knew his father wouldn't lie, but, wolves as large as bears, it just didn't add up.

"Hudson?" A doctor in a white coat with a name tag that read Lopez.

Carol stood and rushed over to the doctor. Kurt got up to follow when he noticed his father wasn't behind him.

"Dad, you coming?"

He was still looking down at the floor. "I think Carol wants me to stay here."

"Kurt!" Carol shouted. "Come on!"

He followed Carol and the doctor to a more private waiting room. Doctor Lopez went on to explain that Finn was put in a medically induced coma in order for his brain to heal from the trauma of the injury.

"H-How long will he…have to be in this medically induced coma?" Carol asked.

"That depends on him and how much time he needs for his brain to heal."

Carol nodded, choking a sob. "Kurt, sweetie. Why don't you go home with your dad. You have school tomorrow. I'll stay here for the night."

Kurt returned to his father. He hadn't moved, and he still stared at the floor, zoned out. The teen updated Burt on Finn's condition.

"Carol is staying here."

Burt nodded slowly. "Okay. Lets go home." He got up to leave when he heard someone shout his name. It was doctor Lopez.

"Can I speak with you for a moment?"

"Sure." Burt turned to Kurt. "Wait here, son." He followed the doctor to his office. "Kurt already told me about the…coma."

"Please, have a seat." The doctor pointed to one of the seats in front of his desk, and didn't say anything more until Burt sat down. "Can you tell me what happened? I was told you were with Finn when the accident occurred and his injuries were-um-odd."

Burt hesitated. "I was."

The doctor waited for an explanation, but, didn't get one. "Well?"

Burt let out a deep sigh. "I would love to tell you, but, you're not going to believe me."

"What makes you think that?"

"My own family didn't believe me. My wife is so angry she won't even look at me."

"Try me." Doctor Lopez insisted. He sat back and listened to the same story Burt told Carol and his son word for word. "Are you sure they weren't bears?"

Burt looked offended. "Don't insult my intelligence. I've been hunting since I was a little boy. I know the difference between a bear and a wolf."

"Okay, okay." Doctor Lopez paused. "If this gets out-"

"It will." Burt interrupted the doctor. "I lived in this town my whole life. So did you. No one knows how to mind their business." He rolled his eyes. "I'll be the town crazy." He stood up. "Have a good evening, doctor."

Doctor Lopez watched Burt leave his office. For the rest of his shift Burt was on his mind. The mechanic wasn't wrong. The whole town will be talking about his wolf story. Nurses at this hospital like to eavesdrop. And the doctor would be lying if he said he wasn't itching to tell his wife Maribel, so he did.

Sitting at the kitchen table with his family for dinner, for the first time ever, Jorge Lopez actually gossiped when his wife asked about his day.

"How was your day, mi amor?"

"Interesting." He glanced at his one and only daughter, Santana. "Unfortunately Finn Hudson will be in a medically induced coma, for…well, it's uncertain for how long."

Santana's head snapped up. "What? What happened?"

"That's the interesting part. According to Burt, he was attacked…by a wolf."

Both Santana and Maribel were speechless.

"I'm sorry." Maribel finally said after a moment of silence. "Did you say-"

"Si." He confirmed, interrupting his wife. "And that's not all. There were actually two of them, only one attacked, and according to Burt, they were the same size as bears."

Maribel and Santana couldn't help but to laugh.

"That's insane." Said Maribel.

"I know, I know, but, he was so serious." Jorge sighed. "He knows people are going to be talking about this. I couldn't help but to tell you both and I don't even gossip." He shook his head, ashamed of himself. "He said he's going to be the town crazy and the sad part about that, he's right, he will be." Jorge excused himself from the table.

"We need to pray for Finn and his family at church this weekend." Maribel said.

"Okay, mami." Santana gathered the plate and silverware she had been using. "I'll be in my room. I have homework."

The teen went upstairs to her bedroom, however, she wasn't going to do any homework as she told her mother. Instead, she used her cellphone to make a call. She made herself comfortable on the bed as she waited for someone on the other end to pick up.

"What?" A girl finally responded rather rudely.

"It's about time you answered, Fabgay."

The other girl groaned. "You know I hate it when you call me that. I was busy. What do you want?"

"Busy doing what?" Santana asked, offended. "Bitch, you're not allowed to have other friends, I am your one and only."

She laughed. "If you don't have anything interesting to tell me, I'm hanging up."

"Fine, fine, fine. Calm your tits. According to an inside source, a patient at the hospital-"

"Your dad, just say your dad, he's the inside source." She said annoyed, but, also amused by her best friend's antics.

"Where's the fun in that?"

"Santana."

"Quinn."

There's a short pause.

"Fine." Santana continued. "According to papi, happy?"

"Yes, go on."

"According to papi, Burt came into the hospital with Finn, he was hurt pretty bad, he had to be put in a medically induced coma."

"What?!" Quinn shouted, worried for their classmate.

"That's not even the juicy gossip I wanted to tell you."

"What do you mean that's not what you wanted to tell me? Our friend is in a coma!"

"He's not my friend." Santana murmured.

"Santana, focus!"

"Okay!" The Latina rolled her eyes. "So bossy. Anyway, Burt told papi Finn was attacked by, and I'm not making this up, a wolf as big as a bear." There's a pregnancy pause. "Q, you still there?"

"Did you just say a-"

"Wolf, yes."

Another pause.

"I'm bored." Santana sighed then smirked and bit her lip. "Wanna meet me at our spot?"

"It's not our spot, everyone goes there."

Once more Santana rolled her eyes. "Whatever. You coming or not?"

"Okay." Quinn sighed. "But I have to wait until the parents go to sleep."

"Don't make me wait forever, Fabgay. I wants to gets my mack on."

Santana doesn't allow Quinn to reply, she ended the call then finally did her homework. When she finished that, she got changed out of her cheerleader uniform and into street clothes; overalls. Quinn loved her in these overalls, a guarantee to getting her "mack on". Once she was dressed, and makeup was touched up, she went downstairs and grabbed a coat hanging in the foyer.

"Where are you going?"

Santana turned to see Maribel coming out from the living room, arms crossed across her chest looking suspiciously at Santana, as if expecting she's up to no good.

"Quinn asked me to help her study for a test." She easily lied.

Maribel's face softened. "And here I was worried you were up to something. Don't be gone too long, oh, and tell Quinn I said hi."

"M'ky, I'll be back later." She called over her shoulder as she left out the front door.

Santana and Quinn's 'spot', as the Latina called it, is just an old abandoned drive-in movie theater. It was discovered years ago, although it isn't clear who first made the discovery, it has become a tradition for teenagers to use the abandoned spot as a place to party and make out.

Although it wasn't far, the drive-in theater was closer to Santana so as expected, she got there before Quinn. Santana parked next to the concession building. She won't go inside without Quinn. The Latina wasted time playing a game on her phone when she thought she heard the howling of a wolf in the distance.

"Don't be loco, Lopez. There aren't any wolves, you're just paranoid."

Santana took a relaxing deep breath before returning to the game on her phone. It didn't take long for Quinn to pull up next to her car. Santana ended the game and the two girls got out of the vehicles and met at the front of the cars. Santana noticed right away how nervous the blonde appeared and held her hands.

"Don't worry so much. We're safe. There are no wolves in Lima, remember?"

Quinn flashed a weak smile. "Right." She mumbled, as she ducked her head.

Santana dropped Quinn's hand to lift the blonde's head by her chin. She connected their lips in a soft kiss, knowing it would calm her.

"Better?" She asked, pulling away slightly from Quinn's mouth.

"Yes. Thank you."

Holding hands, the two girls went inside the concession building. There may be no power inside, but the windows are big enough to let natural light in. Though, when it does get dark outside, they have battery powered lanterns and indoor LED string lights.

Santana sat at the popular booth and began posing provocatively, making Quinn chuckle in amusement.

"You're not supposed to laugh." Santana huffed. "It's supposed to entice you into making out with me. I even wore my overalls."

Quinn bit her bottom lip. "I see that." The blonde sat next to Santana and pulled the Latina on to her lap by the straps. "You know I can't resist you when you wear this."

Quinn closed the gap between them. The kiss was slow and sensual. Quinn moved her hands away from the straps of the Latina's overalls down to her ass, eliciting a raspy moan. Just as Santana went to include her tongue to the now passionate kiss, Quinn pulled away unexpectedly. She gasped in fright.

"Did you hear that?" Quinn whispered.

Santana strained to hear what possibly the blonde could've heard for a moment then gave up. She dipped her head to kiss and nibble Quinn's neck. "No." She said against flawless, pale skin.

No longer in the "macking" mood, Quinn was still on high alert whilst Santana felt no threat, continued to kiss and nibble the blonde's neck.

"I definitely heard something, San." She whispered.

Santana pulled away from Quinn with a huff. "Fine, I'll check it out." She climbed off of Quinn. "Where did this imaginary sound come from?"

Quinn rolled her eyes. "Bathroom."

After grabbing a battery powered lantern, cautiously, Santana walked toward the restrooms with Quinn right behind her. Down the hall, closer to the lavatories, they suddenly heard a loud noise and jumped.

"I heard it that time." Santana whispered.

Slower this time, they continued on. Reaching the restrooms, Santana slowly opened the door and found nothing. Just when the Latina opened her mouth to tease Quinn about being paranoid, she was cut off.

"BANG!"

Both girls jump facing the source of the sound. A teenage boy with abnormally large lips wearing a red letterman jacket stood in the hallway with a victorious smile.

"That was amazing." He laughed. "I don't think I've ever seen the Santana Lopez scared of anything."

Santana rolled her eyes. "I wasn't scared." She lied.

"Could've fooled me."

He pointed at something. Santana followed his finger and saw that she had been holding Quinn's hand without realizing it. The Latina lamely dropped the blonde's hand in attempt to compose herself.

"What the hell are you doing here, trouty mouth?" Santana asked with annoyance.

"I'm just being a good older brother and checking on my little sister. Word is there's a couple of bear-sized-wolves wandering around these woods."

"How do you know about that?" Quinn asked.

"I heard dad on the phone when you left."

The blonde frowned in confusion. "I thought he was sleeping."

Sam chuckled. "You're terrible at sneaking out of the house when you're leaving to see Santana. Open your ears." He grinned.

Quinn's nose flared as she gave him a death glare.

"Do your parents know she's here?" Santana asked.

"No, I covered for her." Sam turned back to Quinn. "You're welcome."

Sam walked past them down the hall and sat at the booth the girls had just been making out on. Santana and Quinn followed the football player.

"Thanks. You could leave now." Said Quinn.

All of a sudden, bright lights of a some headlights blind the trio for just a moment. Their eyes then adjust from the unexpected brightness to sudden darkness, making it difficult to identify the several figures approaching the abandoned building.

"Shit, duck behind the counter." Sam instructed as his eyes adjusted first.

The trio hid behind what used to be the concession stand.

"Why are we hiding?" Santana whispered.

Instead of giving a vocal explanation, Sam put both of his pointer fingers up against his head to make them look like horns. She rolled her eyes, knowing who he was referring to. William McKinley high's rival school; Carmel high. Also commonly known as the blue devils. From football, hockey, baseball, and even the glee club, this rivalry had been going on for years. McKinely despised Carmel, and Carmel despised McKinely.

"Stop hiding, ya cowards! We know you're here we saw your cars!" One of the carmel boys shouted.

"I hope it's that Mexican cheerleader. She's so hot." Another practically moaned.

"Dude, she's gay."

Someone scoffed. "This dick can change that."

Quinn's jaw clenched and she balled up both hands into a fist. Santana hadn't noticed, but, Sam did. He mouthed "calm down" followed by "deep breath." Quinn did both and instantly relaxed. Neither of them noticed how angry the Latina got until she popped up from their hiding spot.

"The fuck did you just say?!" Santana shouted, getting the boys' attention.

"Look at that, Nick, wishes do come true."

The boys laughed.

"Your friends back there with ya?" A boy with dark, shaggy hair asked.

Santana doesn't get the chance to reply. Quinn and Sam pop up from behind the old concession stand.

"Ian." Sam crossed his arms defensively over his chest. "Should've known it was you, you and your lackeys never have anything better to do. Maybe that's why your glee club have more championships than you."

"You don't want to go there, guppy lips." Ian groaned. "At least our football team has a championship."

"Why are you here?" Quinn asked, impatiently.

Ian pointed at Sam. "He knows why."

Sam casually lifted a shoulder. "No, I can't say that I do, actually."

Ian slammed his hands on one of the tables. "Don't fuck with me, Fabray! Unlike your garbage, poor school, we have security cameras. You graffitied our mascot in a stupid titans jersey!"

"You still have paint on your hands." Nick pointed out.

Both Santana and Quinn looked down at Sam's hands and are surprised they hadn't noticed the red on his palms until now. He was literally caught red handed.

"We're going to teach you a lesson, guppy lips." Said Ian.

Unconsciously, Quinn protectively stood in front of Santana whilst the rival football team stalked toward them. Although, they ignored the girls as they chased after Sam. It was three against one, and Sam was cornered against the wall.

"I don't want to alarm you, Q, but I think we're about to watch your brother die."

To Santana's surprise, Quinn didn't appear to be worried. In fact, she grinned instead.

"Don't count him out. He may shock you." She said like a proud sister.

They watched as Sam expertly dodged punches from a few of the rival football team. She would be lying if Santana said she wasn't impressed. Sam could hold his own. Suddenly everyone stopped fighting at the sound of wood cracking.

"The roof is caving in!" Ian shouted.

"Let's get the hell outta here!" Shouted Nick.

Everyone ran out almost just in time. The roof to the old concession building collapsed and unfortunately there was a casualty in the carmel group.

"We have to get him to the hospital. This is really bad, Ian." Said Nick as he cradled the bleeding and broken arm of a red headed football player.

"This isn't over!" Ian pointed his finger at Sam then he and the other carmel boys drove off in their respected vehicles.

"Great." Santana looked down at the pile of wood disappointed. "Now we have to find a different hang out spot."

"I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner." Said Quinn.

Sam didn't seem to care. He was too busy frowning at the sky, not going unnoticed by Santana.

"What's your problem, trouty?"

Sam turned to Quinn ignoring Santana. "It's getting late. We have to go."

Quinn frowned. "Right." She faced Santana. "I'll see you tomorrow morning at cheer practice. Text me when you get home, okay?"

Santana rolled her eyes. "Yes, mother." She teased.

The girls hugged. Everyone parted ways. Sam went with Quinn in her car, and Santana in her own. During the drive, Santana blasted the radio and sang along. The downpour of rain was unexpected and unwelcome.

If it weren't for the red light, she would have missed it. A shadow in the woods that ran next to the road.

At first Santana thought she was just seeing things due to the heavy rain and continued on when the light turned green. However, more shadows appeared. Some appeared human and others, no, could it be? The other shadow figures were in the shape of wolves, and that's not all, they were bigger than normal.

"Bears." Santana whispered to herself. "They're as big as bears." She said in both shock and fright.

It was almost as if they were running along with her car. Although it was hard to say if that's what was happening as it was difficult to focus on the road and shadow figures, then she was forced to slam on her breaks as a car in front of her came to a stop at yet another red light.

Even more odd than the scary large wolves, the driver to the car in front of her exited the vehicle and approached her when a bright light appeared out of no where. She shielded her eyes using her hands before blacking out.

A/N; Should I continue? Let me know.
