Chapter 1

Ron came down the stairs of his house, he had taken off his father's disastrous blue tuxedo. He had opted not to go to the junior prom. He had realized that he couldn't compete against Eric for Kim's love, he couldn't risk her rejection, too much would be at stake including their friendship.

He arrived in the living room of his house where he found his parents sitting on the couch, his dad was watching TV while his mom was knitting a blanket.

"Ronnie, aren't you going to prom?" his mom asked.

"No mom, I'm fine." Ron said a little emotionless.

"Son, I know it's hard to go to the prom without someone to go with you, but that doesn't mean you won't have fun with your friends." His father said.

"Don't worry dad, it's just a dance, I'll try next year."

Mrs. Stoppable got up from the couch, "What do you have Ronnie?"

"I don't have anything, I just don't feel like going to prom."

"Ronald, you know you can count on us for whatever you need, or at least we hope you still trust us to tell us what's wrong with you." Ron's father said.

Ron looked curiously at his parents.

"I know we haven't been there for you Ronnie. Whenever you've been looking for us we've been busy with other things, but I promise you everything is going to change." His mother said. "This time, we're going to make time so you can count on us."

Ron just hugged his parents. "Thank you, really."

"Anytime, son." His dad said.

"Look, I'm just going to go get some air for a while, okay?" Ron informed his parents.

"It's fine Ronnie, just go easy."

Ron left his house and took his scooter, he drove to Bueno Nacho. The conversation with his parents had been good for him, it was good to have them now, although his depression over Kim was still noticeable.

Ron tried to forget his thoughts about Kim with some Bueno Nacho, but once he got to his favorite restaurant, another thought flooded him. Another reason he was depressed was there, the Lil Diablo's, Bueno Nacho's new sensation, that was a result of the new owner buying the franchise, turning it into a play place for ankle biting toddlers.

Apparently Ron also had to resign himself to that as well.

Ron walked painfully toward Bueno Nacho, his hands nearly dragging the shiny floor of the Mexican fast food restaurant. He ignored the little Diablo-shaped balloons and toys on the counter. His mind was elsewhere, and he wanted nothing more than to drown his sorrow in soda and melted cheese.

"Welcome to Bueno Nacho, may I take your order?" Ned, the clerk at the counter asked in a mock cheerful voice. When the physically robust manager behind him turned around, he lifted a tray of food to whisper to Ron. "Ron, something very strange is going on!"

When Ron turned back to him, Ned was standing normally again, and he didn't heed the warning. He sighed. "You understood correctly." he said, looking at the menu. "Let's see...I'll have 2 large size chimiritos; three orders of Nacos and a large size soda to go." Rufus pulled his jagged tooth and pulled the pink face out of Ron's pants pocket and squealed in protest. "Better like here, Rufus can't wait."

"Yes!" Ned replied cheerfully as Lars, the manager passed behind him, preparing Ron's order. When the big man was out of earshot, Ned whispered. "Ron, seriously, something strange is going on here!"

"Ned, you worthless maggot!" Lars shouted from behind him with all the energy of a Marine Corps drill sergeant, using his managerial clipboard to force Ned's chin to look him in the eye. "Did you ask our favorite customer if he'd like Diablo sauce on his order?" he asked.

"I did not, sir!" Ned said. "Diablo sauce?" he asked, holding up a yellow seasoning packet to Ron.

Ron wasn't paying attention, instead looking down at the floor and staring at his pitiful reflection. "Huh? Yeah, right. Whatever."

As Lars stepped away to pick up Ron's order, Ned quickly opened the packet of hot sauce and drew a word on the food tray, hoping his boss wouldn't notice. "Here it is!" Lars announced. "Nice and hot." He put the fast food on the tray with a formal "Gracious" and nudged Ned to do the same.

"Have a nice day!" Ned waved.

Ron reluctantly carried his tray of food to his usual stand and set it down on the padded bench. As he did so, Rufus jumped out of his pocket and dove into the Nacos, gobbling chips almost whole with his skinny bald tail wagging in glee. Next, the little rodent chewed half of a chimirito and only took a moment to swallow when he noticed Diablo's hot sauce on the food tray.

After pushing aside the various cartons of Mexican food, he saw the message written in smeared sauce.

'EVIL'

Rufus shrieked, then turned in an effort to get Ron's attention as he pulled his soda from its paper wrapper. "No..." he said, squinting. "No way... Nooooooooooo!" he shouted, slamming his fist on the table, causing everyone to look in his direction. He slid out of his booth very annoyed, glaring at Lars as he approached the ordering counter. "This is the last straw!"

"What!" Lars said, confused.

Ron raised his straw in anger. "This is the last straw!"

"No!" Lars replied, holding up a box full of straws. "We have more here!"

Ron hopped up on the counter to look Lars in the eye. "Now you took away the bendy straws!"

Lars looked back at him, finally understanding. He pushed the straw away from his face and set Ron down on the floor across the counter. "You sir, are mad."

"Why, just because I'm interested!" shouted Ron, shoving the straw towards Lars' face.

"Because of the bendy straw thing." said the much larger man with a grin, shaking the straw so it bounced off Ron's forehead.

"I'm going to charge you!" complained Ron.

"With who?"

"With your boss." Ron grinned, turning to run out the door to the pay phone. "Wade!" he asked when the ten-year-old computer genius picked up the phone on the other end. "I'm on Good Nachos, and I have comments and suggestions!"

Wade put down the cup of soda he'd been drinking and put away Diablo's typing toy. "Right ... Do you want me to connect you to his 800 number?"

"No way." Ron replied. "I want to go higher up, I want to talk to the CEO, put me through."

""I don't know Ron, talking to a CEO isn't easy." Wade told him, starting to type into his computer system. "the guy's private line maybe super secret and ... done."

Ron waited a moment as the phone rang twice, then held his breath in anticipation, his mind working through dozens of frustrations he'd felt over the past few months since Bueno Nacho had changed. "Hello!" said a familiar voice. "Bueno Nacho. the President speaking!"

"Drakken?" Ron asked in disbelief, all his displeasure coming to a sudden end.

"If it's about changing my long distance..." continued the voice on the phone as the receiver was pulled out of Ron's hand.

"Dr. Drakken is a very busy man, Ron Stoppable." Lars said from behind Ron as he hung up the phone. "No need to bother him."

Ron then turned to see Bueno Nacho, he saw at the window Ned holding the tray with the word 'EVIL' written on it in sauce. The next thing he knew, Ned and Rufus came through the doors of the restaurant screaming. Hundreds of Little Diablos marched up behind them and began to surround Ron.

"Diablos Attack!" shouted Lars.

Desperately, Ron kicked at them as they tried to climb into his pants. He grabbed Rufus, stuffed him in his pants pocket and ran to the scooter. Frantic, he revved the engine.

Unfortunately, his scooter could only go so fast that he looked down at the scooter as he realized.

"This is crap! Am I the only one who notices?" he said as Rufus struggled against the mini Diablo's. Lars tried to tackle them, but ended up missing when Ron's scooter sped up, leaving him crashing head first into the Buenos Nacho Drive-thru menu.

"That was close dude! But we need to get to Kim NOW!" as he revs up his scooter to reach a speed of 25 miles per hour while trying to dodge the evil Lil Diablo's.

The lights were bright and the music was loud as Middleton students danced the night away. All were in good spirits as they danced with their partners. But none happier than one Kimberly Ann Possible as she danced to the perfect beat with her new boyfriend, Eric Maguire. In her mind, he was perfect, handsome, smart and athletic.

Eric was the perfect boyfriend to rub in that snobby Bonnie Rockwaller's face. He never really liked Bonnie and always hated how he could push her buttons. He even thought he understood her a little, thanks to the cola gas incident, the worst week of his life. But now she had the perfect boyfriend and was happy that Bonnie would suffer humiliation for bringing someone hotter than Brick to the prom, nothing could go wrong ...

"The Little Devils are bad!" Ron burst into the school, stumbling into the decorative balloon archway. His hair was blowing in the wind. His eyes were wild.

Kim looked around. People around her smiled, others laughed. She felt shame, pity, for Ron, for herself.

The music had stopped and the crowd, including Kim and Eric, turned their gazes to Ron. Ron complained about how Drakken is now the president of Bueno Nacho and how Diablo's toys were evil and were after him. Kim walked out the door with Ron and, of course, the Diablos were nowhere in sight. "Where-?"

Eric put an arm around Ron's shoulder. "Dude, are you okay?"

Ron took his arm away. "I know that tone. 'Ron's making it all up!' Well, it doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks." She smiled triumphantly. "Because my best friend, Kim, will believe me, won't you, Kim?"

Kim avoided his gaze.

"Ron..." Kim began but Ron interrupted her.

"Believe me Kim, the Lil Diablo's are alive and Drakken is behind all of this, it's true, I'm not making it up. I can prove it to you! We can go on tour to your parents and see that Drakken is taking over Bueno Nacho and the world!"

"Ron.."

"Or we can call Wade and tell him that..."

"Ron listen..."

"...Drakken is the one who bought Bueno Nacho because..."

"RON!"

-SLAPPED-

The entire gym fell silent and the music stopped with a screech, mouths gaping open in shock, eyes wide in disbelief and gasps could be heard as they tried to make sense of what happened. Because the world famous heroine, Kim Possible, had just slapped her best friend, Ron Unstoppable.

Ron looked back with his eyes wide open in shock as a red hand stung the left side of his face. He couldn't register what had just happened. In all the years Ron had known Kim, he knew she would never physically hurt him or do anything to hurt him. But the truth was obvious, she slapped him to shut him up. And from the looks of it, it worked.

Kim looked at Ron with her hand still raised from slapping him, she was breathing hard and her emerald eyes seemed to burn into Ron's soul.

"Listen to me Ron ... because it's going to be the last thing I'm going to say to you." She shouted directly into his face making him stumble backwards.

"You're embarrassing me in front of everyone! You always have! Just once I wish I had a normal life with no interruptions! But guess what didn't happen because you decided to show up and ruin it! All the things you said, that's all in your stupid imagination!" She yelled at Ron, who was getting paler by the minute. "I've had to put up with your crazy antics one after another since Pre-K! But I've had enough, RON! I'm sick and tired of it! I'M SICK OF YOU, for once in my life I want to be normal, Ron! I want to be a normal teenager, who just has to deal with everyday problems, and not mad scientists!"

Ron finally found his voice. "But Kim...this is serious" he pulled the Kimunicator out of his bag showing it "Wade can prove it, Drakken is-"

"I don't care, Ron! It's just your stupid imagination! And I'm sick of it all! Now run it through your tiny brain! There's nothing going on Bueno Nacho!"

"If you'd just let me explain-" Ron tried to speak, but Kim wouldn't let him.

"Shut up Ron!" She spat. "You're a loser! You always were, your Bueno Nacho and your stupid Naco are garbage! You always eat like a pig! You're horrible at missions and you always play games! For once, try to grow up and grow up! Stop being a child! Nobody likes you, not even your own parents like you! I ONLY STAYED WITH YOU FOR PITY, BUT TODAY IT'S OVER! NOW GET OUT OF HERE AND GET OUT OF MY LIFE!" Kim shouted as she pointed to the door.

If she had been paying attention to her ex friend, she would have seen the look in her eyes as her world came crashing down around her. The words she spoke would forever mark deep into his soul where he was truly alone.

It was then that Ron knew who Kim was choosing, she chose a pretty boy over her best friend. Their history together ... was now a mere memory, the bonds they made were destroyed, the friend he knew ... was gone.

Her hair covered her eyes, casting a shadow over them to hide the tears that threatened to spill if she wasn't careful, the rest of the students wondering what Ron was going to do next.

"Ok ... sorry ... I'll leave you alone..." Ron said, his footsteps echoing as he walked out of the building.

Kim watched as her now former friend left, a sad look on her face. For a moment, she felt a pang of regret before a hand landed on her shoulder and she looked at Eric, who had a sincere smile on his face.

"It's okay, Kim, just forget it." she smiled as she hugged him without noticing the wicked grin that grew on Eric's face.

Ron was devastated, the person he thought he could trust had abandoned him. Several questions began to swirl through Ron's head Was his whole childhood a lie? Was their friendship ever real?

Rufus gave Ron a pat on the cheek that everything would be okay. Even though he's comforting him, it wasn't enough.

Beep-Beep-Beep-Beep-Beep

Ron wiping away his tears so Wade wouldn't see him crying.

"Hey Wade, what's up?" Ron gave him a weak smile.

"Ron, I saw a video on the internet and I heard about what happened between you and Kim and I just want to say that was very rude and cruel what she said to you. Are you okay Ron?" worried Wade

"No, Wade, I'm not. Kim hates me, it's all over." Ron said

"I was going through some things and found that there is something fishy going on at the Lil Diablo's." Wade reported. "Ron, if you're not feeling well, I'll let GJ know to handle the Drakken thing." Wade is more concerned about Ron, he said.

"No, I'll stop Drakken myself. Tell me, how do I stop him?" Ron said wiping some more tears from his eyes.

Wade hesitated for a second, but gave him the mission "Well, I don't have the information on how to take them out, but Mr. Possible might know." Wade said.

"I'm on my way, and Wade, thanks for believing me."

"Anytime Ron."

"Well let's go to Kim's house." Ron said before cutting Wade off.

Ron grabbed his scooter and proceeded to head to Kim's house, but he couldn't stop thinking about what happened at the prom.

I lost a friend

Like keys in a sofa

Like a wallet in the backseat

Like ice in the summer heat

I lost a friend

Like sleep on a red-eye

Like money on a bad bet

Like time worrying about

Every bad thing that hasn't happened yet

Ron was considering that after tonight, he would retire from missions, Kim didn't want him there, and apparently that would be the most feasible option.

I know I'll be alright, but I'm not tonight

I'll be lying awake counting all the mistakes I've made

Replaying fights

I know I'll be alright, but I'm not tonight

I lost a friend, I lost a friend

Ron had to learn to live with the fact that Kim was no longer his friend, and that it was time to make his own way, he had to do this for himself.

I lost my mind, and nobody believes me

Say, I know that he don't need me

'Cause he made a little too much money to be twenty and sad

And I'll be fine without him

But all I do is write about him

How the hell did I lose a friend I never had?

Never had

Ron finally arrived at the Possible's house, he hoped that somehow they wouldn't ask about Kim, he didn't want to remember what happened, but in the end he thought it would be useless. After ringing the doorbell, he waited for someone to open the door only to be greeted by Kim's mother.

A/N: I honestly had the intention of doing a story like this, I hope you like it, I don't know if I will change in the future from T to R rated like the other stories where Kim, besides not believing Ron she humiliates him, I guess as it develops I will know, the song 'I Lost a Friend' belongs to Finneas, although I sincerely think that the ideal song for this kind of story would be 'True Friends' by Bring Me The Horizon.
