Hey guys! I originally wasn't planning to finish this story on my docs, but an event stirred up the emotional courage to face it. Sooo here it is. It is on the sadder side but that's my style. I apologize for the grammar errors, no beta on this one. Thank you to everyone who is currently supporting me! Please R&R!

"Leo, you can let go of me now…" Mikey whined, still annoyed that his older brother had half a mind to drag him topside at three in the morning. He missed his bed, and the babe that had appeared in his pleasant dreams that were rudely interrupted.
But Leo didn't let go, he only held on to his younger brother like he was his lifeline.
"Leo, bud, let go of me."
Still no response. Leo lead Mikey over the nearest ledge and sat him down. Mikey still looked very confused about what was happening.
He looked over at his older brother, "Leo..why? What's going on with you right now?"
But his brother only sat down next to him and stared at the luminating lights of New York. The breeze shot chills up their arms as nearby neighbors laid fast asleep in their warm beds. Which was the exact reason, Mikey wanted to go back home.
He reached over and touched his brothers arm but hissed at the head radiating from his older brother. "Your warm."
Leo shrugged, "Who cares? Not me, that's who."
"But you should!" Mikey gaped. He couldn't honestly believe what he was hearing right now. His fearless brother admitting that he didn't care about his health…..something wasn't adding up.
"Leo," he scooted closer, "what's the real reason we're out here?"
Leo shifted uncomfortably. "I really don't know."
"Yeah right," Mikey scoffed, "I know your not one for the cold, and yet here we are. Leo..just tell me."
But the eldest brother just couldn't get himself to say anything, the pain that laid deep inside still felt to raw. His eyes filled with salty tears; he just couldn't help it. Scooting closer to his younger brother, Leo laid his head on Mikey's shoulders.
Mikey rubbed Leo's arms. "Dude I'm worried about you, let's head home."
But Leo didn't move, the lights that flickered throughout New York was to memorizing. Even the cold didn't bother him anymore, it was as if everything shut off. He was numb.
"Leo, I mean it!"
The eldest brother could tell that Mikey wasn't having any of his crap right then, and for once, Leo couldn't blame him. But blue-masked brother didn't want to go back, at that moment, time slowed down. And Leo wanted to enjoy it.
"Leo…"
He didn't get to hear the rest of the sentence, feeling himself fall forward, the eldest turtle didn't do anything about it. He was ready to let go. The pain, pressure, insanity would all be gone.
But a pair of hands stopped his fall, opening his eyes, Leo saw Mikey with a tear-streaked face.
"LEO! What the heck!"
Leo didn't give any indication of acknowledgement.
"You were just going to give up? LIKE THAT?" Mikey gasped for breath, "I know life is hard but DUDE! I can't…I can't…. oh my gosh!"
Leo shook his head; he couldn't believe what he almost had committed. His poor younger brother had almost had to carry his dead body home, what a brother he was.
Leo hugged Mikey tightly, "Mikey…I don't know what to say…"
Mikey pulled away. "I know exactly what to say, we're heading home. NOW!"
The youngest brother got up and grabbed Leo's arm. Hastily running home, Leo couldn't help but feel so helpless. The overall shock of what he almost did, had him unraveling the pieces. It wasn't long before Mikey sat him down on the couch.
Leo looked up, "Mikey…I am really sorry you had to witness that."
Mikey took a seat, shaking his head as more tears fell down his pale cheeks. "Leo…it wasn't the situation but for a small millisecond…I thought you really had given up. I can't describe how scared I felt." He took another deep breath. "I can't lose you…I just can't."
"And you won't. I just…. I don't know what came over me," Leo tried to reason but Mikey wasn't having any of it.
"Leo, how can you promise me that!"
"Because I can!"
"That's not good enough!"
"Mikey, THAT'S ENOUGH!"
"No Leo you don't understand," Mikey growled, "Do you know how scary it was to witness my only oldest brother trying to fall off the ledge! I thought you really had just GIVEN up! I thought I was GOING TO LOSE YOU! Do you know how scary that is? So don't tell me that's enough because Leo….I don't know what I would've done if I didn't catch you!" Mikey was hyperventilating by now, tears freely streamed down his face. Standing up, he walked around the room.
Leo stood up. "I'm really sorry Outoto, that must have been really scary."
"It was," Mikey nodded as he caught his breath, "But maybe it was justified…I mean if you really feel awful about life, you don't deserve to suffer. But Leo, please stay..for me at least."
The eldest brother walked over to his brother and embraced him, almost immediately Mikey melted into his chest. "I promise to stay, and even when I pass on, I'll watch from above."
"You can't promise that."
"Your right, I can't. But that doesn't mean I'll try my best to hold to that promise."
That was enough.
"You better Leo, so don't plan on dying any time soon."
"I won't," Leo said softly as he placed a kiss on top of Mikey's head, "Never forget that."
Mikey chuckled lightly, "I'll try."
It was still evident that Mikey hadn't fully recovered, but with him in Leo's arms…Mikey had never felt so safe. It would take a while to heal, but that was to be expected. Anything of this proportion took time. And for that, Mikey was grateful.
Mikey hadn't even begun to realize that he had dozed off, but Leo had. Walking over to the couch, Leo placed Mikey down and then himself. He snuggled up next to his brother, grateful for the warmth.

Mikey stared at Leo's grave. Placing flowers, he gave a sad smile. Leo hadn't given up on his promise, stayed true to the end. And for that, Mikey considered himself very lucky. Leo had died bravely, just like he had always bragged about when they were small children.
A tear fell unto the hard stone, Mikey's hands trembled as he set his cane aside and plopped himself down on the ground.
"Hey Leo, it's been a few months. I just wanted to come say hi, Donnie and Raph also say hi. How is it up there?"
Of course there wasn't a response. Tears formed in the teens eyes. "I miss you dude; I mean you kept your promise and all…but it still feels so wrong."
A moment of silence occurred.
"Are you watching me from up there like you promised?" Mikey asked and chuckled softly.
It almost felt like yesterday when Leo's arms were wrapped around Mikey protectively as they slept, or when Leo had laughed, and filled Mikey's head with words like Outoto. The pain that came from all this..hurt. Greatly.
"I know your watching me," Mikey sobbed, "I can feel your warmth from here. Thank you for that Ani."
"Thank you for all the kisses and hugs, the kind words. For being my older brother who was always there for me. And I guess…I didn't realize how much that meant to me until I didn't have it anymore," Mikey breath quickened, "Please don't forget about your promise, please stay with me…don't plan on leaving any time soon."
The wind picked up; Mikey's bandana tails swished with the wind. He chuckled, "now Leo, what's so interesting about my bandana tails?"
His bandana tails were pushed up one more time before lying flat on his head, the wind still creased but there was no bitterness to it.
"Thanks Leo, I know your watching over me. You're the best big brother ever," Mikey said softly, he wiped away his tears.
He stood up, "I promise Leo that when I see you again, I'll give you the biggest hug ever!"
It was then that a warm presence covered Mikeys body. Mikey looked up at the sky, "Thanks Leo, I'll see you soon."
And with that, Mikey left the cemetery feeling happier than before.

"Leo?"
Mikey opened his eyes to a white paradise, in the distance, he could hear angles singing with elevated voices. Where in the world was he?
"Leo? Donnie? Raph? Guys..this isn't funny." Mikey cried out. When nobody responded to him, he felt extremely scared. But a familiar voice brought him out of his panic.
"Mikey? MIKEY!"
Mikey turned his head to see Leo rushing towards him. Leo scooped him up in a big hug. "Oh Mikey! I've missed you!"
"Where am I?"
Leo let go of Mikey, "The afterlife silly."
"The afterlife? How did I get here? The last thing I remember is…. fighting the foot and…oh"
Mikey looked at his older brother, "Am I dead?"
Leo shrugged, "Well..I wouldn't really call it death but, your not really alive either."
That should have eased Mikey's worries, but he still felt like there was pit at the bottom of his stomach.
"But what Donnie and Raph? They'll be lose without me!"
"They'll be fine," Leo said softly, wrapping his arm around Mike's shoulders, "We'll watch over them."
I promise

There it is! Hopefully it turned out good! Please R&R!
BIG NEWS! I am writing the chapter for my Broken Hero story (it's been a long update on that one), I'm sorry for the huge delay, but I've finally gained enough energy to start that up again.
But don't worry, my Please Eat story and I'm not useless is also in the works. I will not abandon either of those stories.
