It's my birthday month so time to unleash all the stories in the works. Both big and small.
I'm becoming more active on discord so anyone just a fan of fanfiction, any of my current or future works, or just wanna vibe, come on through.

A child's upbringing can be a factor that determines their very future. This was what a young Relon had concluded many years ago upon watching his birth mother walk out of his life. Too young to remember anything, what he did recall somehow with the utmost clarity was the pitiful look his mother gave him as she turned away. Never be seen again…
"Keep your head up, Champ. Life is full of experiences that make us tread the unknown. Only by doing so do we come out better than when we entered."
The reassurance his father instilled in Relon gave the tiny boy hope. A belief that the two of them would be able to find happiness elsewhere. That somewhere out there, someone would love them…
In the blink of an eye, time passed and the void his recent mother had left behind was quickly filled in by a woman by the name of Alice Zuberg. Honest to a fault was what his father would describe her as. She had blonde hair tied in a braid most of the time but what piqued Relon's young interest was the patch over her eye.
His father remarked on Alice being reminiscent of Mé. Calm and composed but unlike her, she held an air of patience and understanding. She was supposedly raised in a rural area and therefore hadn't had much human contact outside of her home. So there were many things new to her as there were to Relon himself. Still, learning alongside the woman was a fun and interesting experience altogether.
He was still a toddler at the time when his sister Es entered the world. Blonde hair, blue eyes, tender skin. All Alice, nothing of his father ironically enough. Still, having a sister made many things happen. Though none scaled in comparison to Alice's departure from their lives.
He could scarcely recall the words both parents spoke. A complaint here, snarky remark there. Nothing the mind of a child could properly understand. Only vague images of back-and-forth bantering replayed in repetition whether he wished for it to or not. A gesture with a weapon of sorts made all words die out as she glanced at him clinging to Es. Just like his birth mother, Alice could only give him a wordless expression of pity as she too walked out on them.
Once again, there was a hole. One much bigger than the previous. He wasn't even five yet and he'd lost out on two mothers and Es hadn't even been able to speak a word to her own.
"Don't worry." Once again, the words of his father spoke with conviction. "We'll be just fine without her. Trust in your pops."
His father despite being battered emotionally trudged on for their sakes. The man was something else…
Years passed, he'd reached the age of five and Es was three when their father had gotten acquainted with another woman. Even as a young boy, Relon could see the once cautionary man begin to regain some of his past self. And it was all thanks to a woman named Shizuna Misurugi.
Snow-white hair and blue eyes, she brought a bundle of energy and laughter that his previous mothers had little of. She'd quickly managed to make her way into his and Es' hearts becoming someone dear to them. Her adventurous attitude and endless amount of love she exhibited towards not just them but their father; it was no surprise when both adults had married shortly after.
What did come as a surprise was the new sister they were greeted with upon reaching the hospital one fateful winter morning. Both parents had decided on the name Vatista. She had his mother's white hair and his father's vermilion eyes.
Just like that, the small family of three had become a family of five. It seemed as though their string of bad luck had ceased and the light at the end of their long tunnel was finally becoming visible. That would be but a fleeting thought however as fate was a finicky thing. Following Vatista's birth, a disagreement was had between both parents. Just like with his previous mothers, Relon could only stare in disbelief as Shizuna grabbed her belongings, parted with the same look both women had done before. Words couldn't be expressed to him directly. Only that sad gaze of pity was given as she closed the door behind her.
That sad visage all three women sported was something they had in common. Once again, that hold had been pierced. Only now, it was much larger than before. His heart ached in an unfathomable way in which words could not describe. If he felt like this, he shuddered to think how his father felt. Yet, every time their eyes met, he sported not a look of sadness but a face of confidence and hope. That same admiration he held once before in the face of dread had returned even stronger.
"Why?"
Relon had prepared to ask an assortment of questions regarding his three mothers but when the time came, all he could ask was that.
"I simply wasn't a good enough husband in their eyes."
As soon as those words exited his father's mouth, a surge of something unfamiliar rose. Immediately, he knew what it was. The same thing his birth mother sported; rage.
Feeling the large hand of his father ruffle his scruffy hair, it took everything in Relon to hold down the explosive force bubbling deep within. It was at that moment as he watched his father depart towards his sisters that Relon made a vow.
"I'll protect them."
It was enough to have his father halt mid-step daring not to turn.
"We don't need anyone else. The four of us are fine without one…"
His anger was seeping through his words. It felt as though his tongue was laced with poisonous venom.
"We don't need them, Dad!"
He hadn't understood why at the time but instead of being reprimanded for his words, his father only looked on before nodding.
"Okay then, Champ."
He hated himself for putting an end to his father finding love. He hated his life and whatever being watching over cursed his sisters with a sad fate. But most of all, he hated those three women for leaving his sisters without a mother…
