Chapter 35

Suguru was laughing his ass off!

"And to think, Kiyoshi didn't tell him about this!" he snickered. In fact, it was just the other night when Kiyoshi told Shin he didn't tell his father about the plan, nor that he was competing. "Sometimes he gets a little too excited when I compete… at the same time, if the sorcerers on the other teams knew…"

"I think they know either way, just as they know I am a Gojo… by blood not by name," he said in a correcting tone.

"I just don't know what my dad would think…"

When the kids left for school, Suguru decided to fill in Itadori about it. He was stunned to the news but nodded to Kiyoshi's reasoning. "I think it was just in case, he didn't want me to get my hopes up. At the same time, I told him not to compete either…"

"You do understand the circumstances?" Suguru asked.

Yuuji nodded to him. "If they want to knock those guys down some pegs I am all for it!" he said and smiled. "Sorcerers shouldn't be exploiting their power like this, just to feel stronger over another… and humans no less!"

Suguru agreed. "It's a waste at the same time, I think it's the lack of effort they want to put into a race against a human… perhaps this could be interesting… Now, if there was only a way to make it REALLY even…" he said offhandedly.

Yuuji smirked.

"What's with that look?"

"Oh, I have a way to make thing even… in fact, I think it's about time the sorcerers get a taste of their own medicine!"

Thus, here they are.

Suguru saw the curse energy burn up the field, then, shortly after, the sorcerer students realized… they couldn't summon it! They began to panic among their schoolmates. Suguru was glad he brought snacks.

After that, there really was no contest.

Kiyoshi decimated the track and field events. Hoshi went for shot-put and yet there was a little of reluctance on his face. Perhaps wondering how much force he needed to throw it.

An idea came to Suguru as he excused himself from Shoko's side. He waved Hoshi over but stopped him a small distance away. He tossed Hoshi an apple. At first he was confused before Suguru said. "Pass it back… oh, and sorry I erased an anime Shin recorded for you… that episode you haven't seen yet…"

The apple was tossed back to him rather hard! In fact, Suguru bruised, but he turned and gave Hoshi the thumbs up.

The kid was a lot smarter than he realized since he understood what he was trying to do for him!

Hoshi took one shot, and no one could match it. It doesn't help that his shot-put went to the very fence of the school!

However, the entertainment of the day came from Rook.

He went for the high jumps and well, it was completely effortless on his part. Hell, if Rook wanted to, he could have shattered some world records, but thankfully he has his mother's sense of the world and kept it in track, if anything, he shattered the school record for high jump.

The ladies also dominated their events as well.

It seriously became a one sided beat down! So much so, that the team Rook was on… were starting to step up their game as well! None of them depended on the kids for their victories. Everyone put in the effort and there were those who won their events as well.

"Guess this school's losing record is shattered…" Shoko said offhandedly. "Huh, where's Rook going?"

Suguru watched as Rook went into the school. "Oh right, the wrestlers are up now. He's not participating but watching." He explained. Yet a pause came over him as he snickered a little.

"What's so funny now?" she demanded.

"It's Rook," he explained. "He has been helping the students in the school, more than likely, he is curious to see if his teachings are sticking to them, at the same time, I think he is curious as to how well he can teach… like someone else we know…"

She rolled her eyes. "That, I still can't wrap my head around." She muttered. "Look, it's one thing for Uba… wait… Uba!?" she demanded.

Suguru snickered again and nodded to her. "Yes, Uba." He said.

"Whatever" she muttered. "Anyway, UBA, hasn't really wanted to teach, his lessons are how you say… off the cuff and sporadic." She said offhandedly. "To think… he's killed so many and some in our company… and yet now…"

"That notion has not worn off on me either…" Suguru said. He forced a small smile though. "At the same time, I wonder what his mindset is, where it's at. He went from being obsessive in power, to a mundane life that we have now. We still battle from time to time, but not in the caliber that he wants to fight let alone with the results he desires…"

"I wonder what that Tooru family put him through for him to even think rationally!" she said aloud and cracked a beer.

"You snuck in beer?" he asked curiously.

"Why, want one?"

"I think you know the answer to that." Shoko smirked and passed him one.

They watched the rest of the contests, however, curiosity got the better of Suguru. "I think I am going to watch the wrestling matches…" he pounded back the beer before anyone caught him drinking it. "Let's see how well Rook teaches…"
