Chapter 2: Life of a Teacher

Hank McCoy parks his Chevy Caprice within a garage. Filled with many other cars as well as a motorcycle. He exits the car before helping Xavier with his wheelchair.

"Despite what just happened earlier, nothing can beat a bright day such as this. Hopefully politics won't ruin it." Hank said as he walks with Charles.

"Yes. Be glad that the children here don't talk about politics, otherwise we'd be dealing with debates every day for the rest of our lives." Charles snickers a little.

"Suppose you're right. At least the others won't have to worry about dealing with Senator Kelly and his shenanigans anymore. And hopefully with the right mind, people can open up more to us." Beast hoped.

"If anyone knows more about mutant society, it is you, Hank. Even on a fine weekend such as this, we all do our best in our own specific roles." Charles said.

"Speaking of roles, I wonder where the others are?" Hank wondered.

Charles and Beast look outside in the back of the X-Mansion. They see the young couple Jean Grey and Scott Summers, the latter known as Cyclops, training in different fields.

"Ready, Scott?" Jean smirked.

"Ready as I'll ever be. Let's do this." Scott said, putting a couple of fingers to his visors.

Jean holds out her hand and suddenly, more than several frisbee discs come flying at Cyclops rapidly. Cyclops aims his visor at every one of them and fires, vaporizing each and every one of them. Scott then notices Jean's eyes turning left and turns to her direction. A giant boulder comes his way and Scott uses his optic laser and blows up the rock. He then turns left and sees some wood coming towards his way from the air. Scott blasts them with a cocky smirk and brushes off his hands before turning to his fiance.

"Well. That was easy. How would you describe that?" Scott asked.

"Hmm. I don't know. Maybe amateurish." Jean smiles.

"Amateurish? We've been practicing different methods for months and yet you call this amateurish. You're becoming predictable, love." Scott teased her. Jean replies by grabbing his hand and giving him a kiss. As they kiss, Scott suddenly hears her in his head.

"Am I, really?" Jean asked.

Scott looks at her with a confused look and before he could ask, a water bucket suddenly falls on Scott's head, getting him completely wet. Jean laughs as she has tricked her fiance in taking the bait.

"Very funny, Jean. Cheap move, but clever move." Scott said in a slightly annoyed tone.

"You know I love you, Scott, but you always make things easy for me, sweetheart." Jean said as she helps dry him up with a towel. "You're lucky you're not training with Storm."

Scott and Jean share a few laughs. They have been together for several years ever since they became some of Charles Xavier's first students with Storm and Colossus as close friends. Now it was time to see what they are up to.

In another Courtyard, Storm is hovering in the air, her eyes glowing white as her long, white hair is blowing against the strong wind she is producing. The winds are so strong that Colossus in his metal armor, despite being very durable, is having a bit of a hard time approaching.

"You are making this easy for me, Ms. Storm. I am made out of metal. Surely, you know wind is no match." Colossus said as he starts getting closer.

"Is that so?" Storm said with a teasing tone.

Storm looks up in the air and clouds form and turn dark within seconds. Colossus quickly sees what she is doing and sees lightning and hears thunder. Lightning begins to form and Colossus jumps out of the way in time before he could be electrocuted. He quickly gets back up and sees sand and dirt. Colossus grabs a huge handful of dirt and makes a giant ball out of it. He spins and throws the dirt ball at Storm. Then a tornado suddenly forms around her and spins in place. In no time, the dirt flies everywhere….. But Colossus is nowhere to be seen at all. Storm looks around for her friend and teammate, that was until Storm feels wrapped by strong, metal arms from behind.

"It appears I got you this time. One slip up from you, and that's when I seized my opportunity." Colossus puts her down. "But you could have warned me if you were gonna try to strike me with lightning?"

"Well, where is the fun in that? It's only training. Besides, I delayed you on purpose. Besides, you should know better than to use that armor of yours." Storm joked.

"It was a think-fast type of situation. What else was I suppose to do?" Colossus asked.

"Can't always count on that armor, big boy. But neither can I on my weather powers. But you did do good….. This time." Storm smirked.

"We'll see about that." Colossus said before turning to see Scott and Jean approaching them. And Charles and Hank are right behind them. Over at the window, two kids were watching Storm and Colossus. Colossus' little sister Magik and John Allerdyce, aka Pyro.

Magik can use stepping discs to teleport between time and space via portals. Not only that, she can teleport to another dimension called Limbo and has some form of magic, such as astral projection, sensing anything mystical, and just like her brother, has armor, but unlike him, she has a sword. She, nor Colossus do not know where this sword came from besides being in and out of Limbo so much, or why she has these powers, but hopes to discover them one day. While she does tend to tease everyone, including her brother, Magik does mean well. And can get along with others from time to time.

Pyro can manipulate fire from anything and anywhere he goes. He always carries a lighter with him everywhere he goes. However, he cannot create fire on his own. Pyro is far less friendly than Magik, and can be a bit of a bully towards others, including certain classmates of his. He is a constant troublemaker, much to the chagrin of the teachers.

"Ha. I told you my brother would win." Magik gloats. "Now pay up. You owe me twenty-five bucks."

"Yeah, whatever." John rolls his eyes as he hands over the money. "Well he got lucky though. I would've taken both of them down easily."

"Pfft. Or you could get blown away like a candle or stomped on like you're nothing. She controls the weather. Can't be that dense. Maybe you should pay attention in science class instead of showing off your ego." Magik claims.

"Or maybe you should stay out of Limbo. Makes you feel dead inside." John said. Magik quickly gets angry and elbows him in the stomach.

"Or if you weren't such an ass-" Magik gets cut off when Kitty Pryde, a student who can phase through solid objects, grabs Magik by her arms and hold her back while John smirks. Iceman, aka Bobby Drake and Angel, aka Warren Worthington III, a mutant who has angel wings and Jubilee, a young girl who can create fireworks from her hands, come in as well.

"Hey, hey. Guys, come on. Not here." Kitty tries to calm Magik down. "Seriously. Not in front of the teachers, especially the professor."

"Let me guess, making bets again?" Jubilee asked.

"Yup. Involving Storm and Peter. Again." Kitty said before letting Magik go once she got control of herself.

"I mean, I gotta cheer for my brother. Besides, I'm glad he got picked." Magik smirked.

"Yeah." Bobby agrees. "It's always nice to see them fight each other when we're not doing homework. Something to take our minds off of. They could use more. Like us."

"If only we could graduate early. But then again, I don't know if people will like seeing some guy like me flying in the sky with angel wings." Warren sighs in worry. Pyro, no longer caring about the situation, simply walks away.

"Hey. Don't say that, Warren." Bobby reassures his friend. "I mean, I could say the same thing. A guy who feels like ice everywhere I go, I'm not ashamed of it. But still."

"I know, but not all of us accept these gifts as the professor calls it. The way my dad looked at me. Me when I was trying to get rid of these. And they kept coming back. Sometimes, I just want to call him, but I'm not sure." Warren feels worried.

"Some people will turn up someday, Warren." Jubilee fist pumps his shoulder. "I mean you got us for comfort. We're all friends here….. Well maybe except John." This causes everyone to snicker, especially Magik.

"I suppose so." Kitty smirked. "Hey. Have you guys heard? We might get a new guy soon. And that he's autistic."

"Really? An autistic mutant. This I gotta see." Bobby crosses his arms with curiosity.

"Oh yeah. And I heard the professor has been studying autism for a long time now. I wonder what got him into it. In fact, when should we expect this guy?" Jubilee asked.

"Hopefully next week or so. We could use another one on our team." Kitty hoped.

"We still haven't come up with a team name of our own. Wonder what we should call ourselves." Jubilee wonders.

"Sparklers, the Angels?" Warren joked.

"Nah." Everyone said before laughing.

"Now that new kid. Him, I'd like to be friends with. How do you know this?" Warren asked.

Jubilee and Kitty look at each other with worry on their faces as they both grit their teeth.

"Well….. It's better to see for yourselves." Kitty tells them. The boys as well as Magik look at each other in confusion. Kitty turns on the tv, and hears local news reports about an incident that happened a few weeks ago.

"News report update. For those who do not know, a few weeks ago, a man named Edward Martinez was injured in an accident. Doctors have examined the man and appeared to suffer from a coma for three days before waking up and is currently in stable condition. According to his wife, Mary Martinez, it happened when he hugged his nephew Zachary Martinez, Age 16. Despite Mary ruling it out as an accident, her nephew is nowhere to be seen and an order has been called to bring him for questioning should he be found and used as a possible candidate for the signing of the mutant registration act." The news reporter explained while showing Zach's picture before Kitty turned off the tv.

"My god. I hope the guy is alright." Magik hoped. "Surely it was an accident. Why else would he run away like that? It's not like he did this on purpose."

"Yeah. People like her don't know what they're talking about. Do you think that the teachers and the professor will find this Zach guy? He could use some help. And maybe some friends." Warren suggested.

"He seems so innocent. But I wonder what he could do. He couldn't have super strength or anything. And to be honest, he looks kind of cute." Kitty said.

"Yeah. All we can do is wait and hope the professor got the news." Bobby hoped.

Fortunately, they did. And that is why Charles Xavier has summoned all members of the X-Men to an emergency meeting.

"I hoped this day would come. But not in the way I thought it would" Charles said with a slight hint of fear in his tone.

"So you're saying is, this kid is the first mutant to be autistic? How?" Scott asked.

"I don't know. But I have been aware of autism for a long time. And this boy. He is special. And his powers are unlike anything I had ever heard of before. Something that even he doesn't understand. Not yet anyway." Charles said.

"I can feel it too." Jean steps up. "He's… scared and alone. Ashamed. Like he regressed in terms of social skills."

"And being on the run for a week and a half. No one that young would have survived on his own for that long. We can only hope he's alright." Storm feels worried for this new kid.

"There is an answer." Charles tells everyone. "I have recently used Cerebro to track him down. Scott. Take Storm, Jean and Peter with you. I know where he is. Alongside another certain mutant."

"To where, exactly?" Scott asked.

Genosha Island. Located off the Southeastern African Coastline, northeast from the Madagascar. Homeland and headquarters of certain mutants who prefer to distance themselves from the human race out of real hatred. Many materials and shelters lie on the island, built by said mutants. And a rather large castle sits on the island at the top. And remain hidden. Not many mutants live on the island however. Most of them work on the island, whilst most of them look evil and are also part of their own faction. It's called the Brotherhood of Mutants. It is led by none other than Erik Lensherr. He refuses to answer to his real name unless Charles Xavier uses it. He goes by Magneto now.

Magneto is considered one of the most powerful mutants in the world and can control metal with no limit. And can manipulate the entire planet's magnetic field to allow himself to hover. He shows no strain when using his powers and wears a special helmet.

Speaking of Magneto, he comes hovering down after quite a journey from a senate meeting. He approaches his fellow mutants. They all stop their work on building more houses, workshops, training sessions as they approach their leader.

"Brothers. Sisters. Today has been a swell day for us all. As I told you. This senate meeting I have witnessed has agreed that we all expose ourselves. And that they believe us to be the enemy and want to imprison us or possibly make slaves out of us." Magento tells the brotherhood as he walks towards his unfinished castle.

The members of the brotherhood all look each other out of disgust as they listened. Among said members are Sabretooth. Sabretooth does not remember much of his past until he comes across Magento. They have promised to help each other with their own goals as long as Sabretooth accepted Magneto as his leader. While having the appearance of a man, he also has a rather monstrous form that makes him look like an animal and growls like a savage tiger and claws. He doesn't talk much and prefers to let the fighting do the talking for him. He only speaks when he wants to, especially when he wants to strike fear.

Another muscular guy is named Juggernaut. He is a huge and bulky type of mutant who is all muscle and hardly any brain. His strength is unlike any other. With full strength, he could possibly shatter a mountain in half and when he builds up momentum, no one or nothing can stop his destructive path. His suit is crimson red and sports a large helmet that covers his entire head except for the eyeballs and mouth. Juggernaut claims to be a match for god, but that remains to be seen.

Next up was Mystique. She has been Magneto's closest follower for decades to come. She was also a friend of Charles Xavier. That was until she began to share Magneto's point of view on humanity, believing that they won't be accepted. But unlike him, she wanted to accept living among them. That was until one day, she was captured, tortured and experimented on by government agents. Mystique turned cold and bitter towards humanity and finally accepted humans as the true enemy. She began to assassinate people on Magneto's command should any of them tend be a threat to his plans.

In terms of appearance and powers, she sports a white bodysuit with white boots that go up to her blue thighs. Her skin is completely dark blue everywhere, and has red hair and yellow eyes and has two pistols and one sniper. Mystique can shapeshift into any being, whether a human or mutant. She can even match their voices perfectly with no suspicions. Magneto considers her powers to be the most exquisite.

"Heh. Puny weak humans. I hate politicians the most. They're full of crap and just go on forever and forever about stuff we don't care about." Juggernaut expresses.

"You should, brother." Magneto said. "They were especially talking about you and all those around you. If you truly understood why we are resented, then you would have a much more sensible opinion."

"The more you talk about them, the more I feel the urge to make them scream before I rip their guts out and soak myself in their blood." Sabretooth growls out of boredom.

"You will have your chance at action when the time comes. But first, we must wait until the right time for my plan to begin." Magento reassures Sabretooth.

"Always the one with the plan, Magneto." Mystique flirts with him. "People like them are the reason I was afraid to go to school as a child. And how I was bullied because of who I am."

"Pain influences our anger, Mystique. Use it to your advantage, my dear. As I told Charles, I will bring hope. Hope for our kind." Magento replied.

"Emma and Destiny should be back at any given moment now just as promised. Now I heard there is a mutant you're looking for. Someone special. Will it bring forth a new era for the brotherhood?" Mystique asked.

"It'll be more than a new era, my dear. A new age." Magneto said as he sees two women, both mutants approaching. One of them appears to be blind. "Ah. How I so much love perfect timing."

One of them, wearing blue clothing and long black hair, is named Irene Adler. But Magneto calls her Destiny, given her gift. Destiny, while blind, has precognitive powers that allow her to see the future, or possible alternate futures and predict when they're coming and how. By concentrating hard enough, she can focus on the most probable future that she desires for herself or for the survival of the mutant race. And she can see an incoming future from at least 15 minutes away and her accuracy is 97% correct. The more that an alternate future could manifest itself, Destiny's precognitive vision will be more clear.

Emma Frost wears all white clothing, including a whute fur coat, blonde hair, high knee boots with high heels, which she considers her most vital kind of attire. In terms of powers, she has powerful telepathy, though not as powerful as Charles Xavier's. She can also send a mental blast through someone's mind and cause them great pain. But in turn, she has an organic diamond form that acts as armor. It covers her entire body from head to toe. However, while in her diamond form, she cannot use her telepathy powers as a drawback and while her armor is very durable, it is not invulnerable. But her diamond form also gives her a form of strength, but not on the same level as Sabretooth or Juggernaut.

Emma Frost may not look smart, but she is a gifted intellect without any actual powers. She has a bachelors in science and is an experienced fighter, but not as lethal as Mystique is. And she is skilled in electronics and is helping Magneto with his plans. But the plan is for what?

"Emma. Destiny. Welcome back, my sisters." Magneto greets the two. "How was the short journey, might I ask?"

"We found just the thing you are looking for. There aren't many like the one you want. His powers. They're beyond anything I've seen before. He would make a great person for our club. Which we hope to extend to the entire world." Emma smiles and winks at Magneto.

"You never cease to amaze us with the news, Emma. Where is he?" Magento asked.

"Canada. He just crossed a few days ago. Another one lives there. And he's… strange. His mind is nearly blank. Like he doesn't remember anything from his past.

Sabretooth approaches Emma and sniffs her. He growls and actually smiles. "I know that scent from anywhere. I've seen him in my dreams. One of the few pieces I remember. I want a crack at him."

"And you shall, my friend. You shall." Magento said.

"We must hurry." Destiny warns Magento. "While traveling back, I had a vision. They're on their way there to pick them up. All of them. They plan on bringing them back to the mansion."

"Charles." Magneto realized. "We must accelerate with our plans. Emma. Take Sabretooth and Destiny with you. I need Juggernaut and Toad here. And Mystique."

Mystique quickly sees the look on Magneto's face and she feels rather…. Reluctant. "She's just a girl. Only about 17. She's not ready, and I am not losing her."

"My dear, dear Mystique. You have spent years training her. She is your daughter after all. Charles is more than willing to let his children go out into the world. It's only fair if we do the same rather than feel like they are locked up in prison." Magento places a hand on her face. "But if you wish to test her, do your worst."

"I thought you'd never ask." Mystique nodded before she walked back into the castle.

Over the castle on Genosha Island, a female teenage mutant hovers high in the air nearly above the clouds. This girl spreads her arms wide open as she soaks in the sun and wind in the sky. Her name is Rogue. She can absorb the lifeforce of any humans and mutants upon touching their skin. And in the case of mutants, she can temporarily absorb mutant powers. She can't help but feel the sunlight. Her brown hair with a white streak in front of the hair is blowing against the wind and almost every part of her body is covered. Once she stretched her arms and legs long enough before she descended downward to the field in the back of the castle. As the girl's feet touch the grass, Mystique approaches her.

"Where have you been, Rogue?" Mystique questions her step-daughter.

"I was just in the sky. Taking up the sun, getting some air." Rogue defends herself.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to go off on your own? You consult with me or Magneto at all times before doing anything." Mystique lectures her.

"Sorry. It's just that….. I hate being cooped up here so much. I just want to see the world instead of feeling like I'm in a prison. I just turned seventeen like a week ago." Rogue speaks in a southern accent.

"You will, little one." Magneto said as he enters the courtyard. "Before I can tell you any further, I want to see what your mother has taught you throughout these last few years.

"Well, if it's a fight you, it's a fight you'll get, dear mother." Rogue said as she gets into position.

Mystique jumps and spins in the air and goes for a dive kick. Rogue steps back, but her step-mother launches towards her by pushing off the ground and kicking her in the face. Rogue stumbles backwards while gesturing to her own face. She growls in frustration and was ready. Mystique throws a punch at Rogue, only for her to grab her fist, twists it around her back and throws her down. Mystique spins in place and trips her before jumping backwards.

"You're holding your own strength back. Learn to let go. Remember what happened with your family. Use that memory. Use that anger. Let it influence you. It helps you think." Mystique reminds her.

Rogue comes at her, ready. Mystique jumps and does two spin kicks, which Rogue avoids. She sees an opening and punches her step-mother in the stomach, elbows her chin, then wraps her legs around Mystique before punching her in the face and throwing her down, face first. Rogue takes a step back as the blue mutant recovers. Rogue comes at her, only for Mystique to do breakdancing kicks, sending her step-daughter into a fence, knocking her down. Before she can eagle kick Rogue in the head, she avoids it, grabs her leg, kicks her in the back of the head before Mystique is send backwards via a strong drop kick to the back. Rogue steps over her and was about to punch her in the face, only for Magneto to grab her fist.

"Enough, Rogue." Magento said before letting go. Rogue collects herself before she helps her step-mother up.

"You've fought well, my child. Now it's time for your first mission with the brotherhood." Mystique gives a smile.

"Mission? Where in the world? About time I go on one. What is it?" Rogue asked, feeling very excited. She's finally getting her chance to see what is outside of Genosha Island besides brief little trips.

"Let's just say you're about to meet some new people. Some very special people." Magento said to her.

Note: Meet the official X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants. We got Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast, Colossus and Charles Xavier. And of course from the Brotherhood, we got Magneto, Mystique, Destiny, Juggernaut, Sabretooth, Toad and Rogue. I wanted to keep the teams small to allow some development and shining time for each of these mutants. Such as Mystique having a mother-daughter relationship with Rogue for example and being trained. Rogue is my favorite mutant and here, I like to think of her as Anna Paquin from the first film but with her southern accent, which she'll be hiding for the majority of the time. As for Bobby/Iceman and some others like Kitty, Jubilee and Magik, they will be students. Next time, we get to see everyone's favorite mutant in the world.
