Trevor and Carmilla sighed in disappointment before they all grabbed some snacks and sat down. The King of the Pumpkin Patch sat down next to the Director. "Oh I'm so excited for the scares!" Jack exclaimed in an excited manner.
The Director nodded with a smile, "I can't wait to see how they react to this universe… been a hot minute since I last visited it."
Willow curled up on her husband's lap before whispering into his ear. "You'll have to tell me all about that."
"Is there any context you can give us?" Sypha asked.
"Well in this universe, several of you are college professors who have a fascination with the paranormal. You've wanted to capture definitive proof that spirits and ghosts exist. Because for some reason, New York City seems to be infested with them." Ace explained.
"And who are the college professors?" Lisa asked in intrigue.
"Let's watch and you'll find out." The Director said with a small smile.
The screen came to life with the sight of the New York Public Library before the screen cut to two men walking up the steps. "As a friend I have to tell you; you have finally gone round the bend with this ghost business. You guys have been running your ass off meeting and greeting every schizo in the five boroughs who says he has a paranormal experience. What have you seen?" The man with long blonde hair and yellow eyes said. It was Adrian with Trevor next to him, holding a video camera.
"So I'm assuming, I don't believe in ghosts." Adrian guessed.
Sypha couldn't help but scratch her head, "Which is rather silly in retrospect."
"Well consider this, perhaps it's just a normal world. No monsters, no vampires. So the idea of creatures existing is silly. Perhaps they're just folk tales." Morana suggested.
Trevor nodded as he rubbed his chin, "She does have a point."
"But there are folks attempting to discover proof of them. So perhaps this is the day Adrian becomes a believer." Greta said, rubbing his arm.
Adrian chuckled, "Perhaps."
"This will be a fascinating experience, I can tell." Dracula commented to Lisa. She nodded as she was now seen eating popcorn, ready for what was to come next.
The two were now in the library as Trevor responded. "Of course you forget, Adrian, I was present at an undersea, unexplained, mass sponge migration."
Adrian sighed, "Ooh, Trevor, those sponges migrated about a foot and a half."
Dr. Sypha Belnades was under a reading table, listening to it with a stethoscope. Adrian smirked and ran over to her and spoke in a zombie voice. While knocking on the table. "Sypha..."
Sypha was puzzled by the noises as she thought she was hearing the dead speak to her. That's when Adrian slammed a book on the table which startled Sypha and several of the folks in the library. She jumped up from the floor to see her co-workers. "Oh, you're here!" She exclaimed slightly.
Trevor couldn't help but laugh as he exclaimed, "And the band's back together again!"
"It makes sense we would hunt ghosts together." Adrian said with a smile.
"But was that book slam necessary?" Sypha asked with a cross of her arms.
Trevor and Adrian both let out a soft chuckle. "You're not good friends if you don't fuck with them every once in awhile." Striga said with a chuckle.
Lenore huffed as she petted her pup. That's when Hector looked at her and smiled slightly, "You too, huh?"
She nodded, "Striga loves her pranks." She said.
"Well, as long as she didn't go too far with them." Hector said as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders to which she leaned into his embrace.
"Yeah, what have you got?" Adrian asked as the trio started walking through the large reading room.
"This is big, Adrian. This is very big. There is definitely something here." Sypha said, trying to hide her excitement.
Adrian couldn't help but comment. "Sypha, this reminds me of the time you tried to drill a hole through your head. You remember that?"
"That would have worked if you hadn't stopped me." Sypha argued.
A library administrator walked up to the trio and introduced himself. "Hello. I'm Roger Delicore. Are you the folks from the university?"
Adrian nodded as he introduced them all. "Yes. I'm Dr. Tepes. Dr. Belmont, Sypha."
Roger nodded and said, "Thank you for coming. I hope we can clear this up quickly and quietly."
"Let's not rush things. We don't even know what you have yet." Adrian said, trying to keep things professional.
Morana chuckled a bit, "Well I am happy they stopped her. I mean don't get me wrong I understand conducting an experiment on oneself, but drilling a hole in your own head?"
"Sypha, I thought you were better than that." Trevor said with a chuckle.
"Are you, of all people, going to judge me about what I do?" Sypha asked with a cross of her arms.
Trevor shrugged slightly. "Fair enough."
They all go into a smaller room where an elderly lady was laying down. She was shell shocked with her eyes widened and her mouth permanently opened like she was trying to breathe. She started to explain what she saw. "I don't remember seeing any legs, but it definitely had arms because it reached out for me."
Trevor was amazed. "Arms?! I can't wait to get a look at this thing!" He exclaimed as he started messing with the camera."
Adrian spoke in a professional voice as he was a doctor of psychology. "Alice, I'm going to ask you a few standard questions, okay? Have you or any of your family ever been diagnosed schizophrenic, mentally incompetent?"
Alice responded, "My uncle thought he was St. Jerome."
Adrian looked away before he nodded, "I'd call that a big yes. Uh, are you habitually using drugs, stimulants, or alcohol?"
Alice was slightly insulted as she said, "No!"
He nodded in an understanding manner. "No, no. Just asking. Are you, Alice, menstruating right now?
Roger was shocked as he asked him. "What has that got to do with it!?
Adrian looked at him with a smirk. "Back off, man. I'm a scientist."
Sypha suddenly spoke to Trevor. "Trevor, it's moving." That's when the three got to work.
"No, I'm in agreement with that man. What the fuck does her menstruating have anything to do with what that woman saw?" Carmilla asked as she looked at Adrian with her eyebrow raised.
Adrian held his hands up. "I'm sure these are all logical questions to ask."
"There is nothing logical about that last question!" Carmilla said.
"Calm down. It's clear that Adrian on the screen is a smartass." Greta said with a chuckle.
Isaac nodded in agreement, "It is also clear that he is the skeptic of the two and probably meant to be the 'sane' member of their trio."
"Meanwhile, Trevor is acting like a child on Christmas." Adrian said with a shake of his head.
Trevor looked at Adrian with a smile, "I mean, could you blame me?"
"No... I suppose not. If anything, Sypha is more insane than the rest of us. Considering she attempted to drill her own head open.
"Hey, I would never do that!" Sypha protested.
Both gave her a deadpan stare as Syhpa just huffed as she focused back on the screen.
Sypha was in the front with a handheld device that had a line of small light bulbs that trailed yellow. Trevor was in the middle with the video camera as he was recording everything. Adrian was in the back with a bored look on his face and was stiff as he walked. Trevor looked back to Adrian who started making scary gestures to Trevor. They came to a tall tower of books that were stacked all the way up to the ceiling.
Trevor almost shouted, "Look!"
Sypha aimed the device at the books to find the lights going to orange. "This is hot, Trevor." She said.
"Symmetrical book stacking, just like the Philadelphia mass turbulence of 1947." Trevor noted, remembering a similar situation.
Adrian said in a deadpanned voice. "You're right. No human being would stack books like this." He was not convinced by this at all.
Dracula chuckled, "You clearly haven't seen my wife when she's alone in the library." Lisa huffed as she playful smacked her husband's arm. "That was one time."
"And it was funny." Dracula said with a chuckle.
"I'm with the Prince on this. This is just some sort of art project." Carmilla said with a shake of her head as she rubbed her panther's head. Princess just purred as he moved his head with Carmilla's hand.
"In a library storeroom with a traumatized woman?" Lenore asked, questioning her logic. "Well regardless, there may be something in there." Hector said.
That's when Trevor's head snapped to the side as he said, "Listen! You smell something?"
This caused the other two to sniff before Sypha continued to lead the group with her handheld device. They go to a card catalog area with lots of open drawers and a slime-like substance everywhere.
Trevor filmed it all as he looked at all the cards all over the floor. "Talk about telekinetic activity! Look at this mess!" He said in excitement.
"Trevor, look at this." Sypha said, pointing her device at the slime.
Trevor looked at the slime and exclaimed. "Ectoplasmic residue! It's the real thing!"
Sypha fished a small plastic disk and lad out of her pocket and handed it to Adrian, "Tepes, get a sample of this."
Adrian was disgusted as he looked at Sypha then at the slime. "Somebody blows their nose and you want to keep it?"
Sypha corrected him. "I'd like to analyze it."
As Trevor and Sypha continued talking, Adrian scraped some of the ectoplasm slime into the dish. He then got it all over his hands, to which he groaned and grunted in disgust. He tried to flick the slime away which got on his forehead. He then wiped his hands on some books on the shelves. That's when he groaned as he got some on his shoe.
Adrian ran his hand down his face and felt a shiver up his spine, "I can almost feel his discomfort."
Trevor and Sypha shared in his discomfort. "Gross... At least you can wash off the blood and guts, but I don't know about ghost shit." Trevor said.
Syhpa spoke up, "I don't think it's even that. It's more along the lines of residue being given off by their ghostly biology."
"Like when they pass through solid objects?" Leon asked.
"Exactly." Sypha said with a nod.
Lisa spoke up, "It's a fascinating subject." To which Dracula nodded as did Isaac.
Sypha looked at her device and said, "I'm getting stronger readings here, this way." Trevor and Adrian started following her.
They turned a corner when Adrian gave Sypha the container of slime. "Sypha, your mucus." She took it when suddenly a bookshelf fell in front of them with a crash.
The trio backed away before Adrian looked at Trevor. "This happen to you before?" To which he shook his head. "Oh, first time?" Trevor nodded his head.
They continued forward, going around corners when Sypha's device went nuts. Once they went around the corner, that's when they saw it. The apparition of a woman in a dress that was colored purple. She was reading a book. "It's here." Sypha said, trying to hide her shock.
Trevor was full blown excited as he whispered, "A full torso apparition, and it's real!"
Everyone was shocked as Adrian said in nothing but a whisper, "No way..."
"It looks... Beautiful." Carmilla said, stunned at the apparition. Striga couldn't help but shiver as Morana had her pen and pad out, drawing a detailed sketch of the ghost, "This is amazing! Proof of spirits!"
"Hmm, very different from the spirits I have seen." Leon said, but was still amazed.
"How so?" Sypha asked out of curiosity.
"Well because I'd rarely see the actual spirit itself. Just the sword it would wield. It was rather strange but destroying the sword destroyed the spirit." Leon explained.
Morana nodded, "I've heard of some legends like that. Of spirits being attached to objects."
Adrian hid his shock but it could be seen in his eyes as he asked his coworkers. "So what do we do?"
Sypha and Trevor didn't answer as they looked at each other. Adrian looked at them before asking, "Could you come over here and talk to me for a second, please?" While pulling Trevor by the ear. "Could you just come over here for a second, please? Right over here. Come here, Francine! Come here. What do we do?"
Once they were away from the ghost, Trevor responded, "I don't know. What do you think?" He asked Sypha who pulled out a calculator, but Peter slapped it away. "Stop that!" He nearly shouted.
Trevor then spoke. "We've got to make contact. One of us should actually try to speak to it."
Sypha nodded. "Good idea."
They looked at Adrian who groaned before going to the ghost. Trevor started taking pictures as Adrian spoke. "Hello. I'm Adrian. Where are you from? Originally.
The library ghost simply looked at Adrian and put a finger to her lips. "Shh..."
That's when the three went back behind the bookshelf. "All right. Okay, the usual stuff isn't working." Adrian commented.
Trevor suddenly had a thought. "Okay, I have a plan. I know exactly what to do." The trio walked back out and began approaching the ghost. "Now stay close, stay close. I know. Do exactly as I say. Ready, ready, get her!"
The library ghost suddenly turned into a frightening hag-like monster and roared at them. That's when they screamed and ran away.
That caused those who were easily scared to scream and jump a bit. Striga could only laugh at the trio that defeated Dracula, running away like scared cats.
Sypha held her heart as she breathed heavily. "What the fuck was that!?"
Isaac couldn't help but chuckle, "well, I can't blame them but at the sametime that was a poorly thought out plan."
"Considering they're dealing with a specter of the dead, there really isn't much you can do." Hector said while holding his heart.
Lisa had her head buried in Dracula's neck as she whispered, "That was really scary."
Dracula rubbed her back gently, "Shh... It's alright, dear. It's alright."
"That was… Unsettling." Willow commented with a shuddering breath.
"What a great scare!" Jack laughed slightly.
"For you maybe." Lenore grumbled as she held her heart as well.
The Ghostbusters dined on takeout Chinese. "To our first customer." Adrian said, holding a soda can.
Trevor raised his can and said, "To our first and only customer."
Adrian sighed, "I got to take out some petty cash. We should take her out to dinner. We don't want to lose her."
"Uh, this magnificent feast here represents the last of the petty cash." Trevor replied to which Adrian put a hand on his arm. "Slow down. Chew your food."
Trevor chuckled a bit "Oh yeah, eating on what you can. Be it some cheap soup or even some watered down ale."
"Adrian seems rather interested in their first customer." Dracula said with a small smirk on his face.
Greta looked at Adrian with a small smirk of her own as Adrian did his best not to look at her out of fear of saying or doing something that would upset her.
"I'm willing to believe Greta was their first customer." Lisa said with a small giggle.
"For his sake, I hope so." Willow said with a soft chuckle to which the Director chuckled as well.
Downstairs, over at the front desk with a woman with red hair tied to a bun, a phone rang to which she answered. It was Lenore, with glasses on her face. "Hello, Ghostbusters. Yes, of course they're serious. - You do?" Her face became lit up with excitement. "You have? No kidding?... Uh-huh. Well, just give me the address. Yes, of course. Oh, they'll be totally discreet. Thank you." She hung up before shouting to them with excitement. "We got one!" That's when she slammed down on an alarm bell.
The alarm went off which made the trio look at each other before Trevor exclaimed. "It's a call!"
They all stood up and ran towards a fire pole and slid down before going to their lockers and started suiting up. Trevor shouted, "Come on!"
Lenore couldn't help but look at her other self before exclaiming, "WHAT IS UP WITH MY VOICE!?"
"That's just a New York accent. Nothing to go mad over." The Director said with a little mischievous smirk on his face at Lenore's expense.
Hector coughed a bit as he said, "I think it's cute." Lenore glared at him only for her to sigh as she kissed his cheek. "Be happy you're cute."
"Well they have their second ghost to hunt. Perhaps they'll actually show us this time." Leon said, excitement creeping up his body.
That's when the Ghostbusters car was revealed. A modified Hearse with sirens and lots of experimental equipment on the top. It drove around wildly as it sped off towards the location of the ghost. The car parked right outside the Sedgewick Hotel with the camera focusing on the Ghostbusters logo.
The Ghostbusters enter with Adrian shouting out, "Hey, anybody seen a ghost?" The people around them looked at them weirdly. The Ghostbusters wore grey jumpsuits with their names on their chest and large metal packs on their backs. A lady walked past them to which their eyes followed her before they continued on.
That's when the Hotel Manager walked up to them. "Thank you for coming so quickly! The guests are starting to ask questions and I'm running out of excuses."
Trevor asked him. "Has it happened before?"
"Well, most of the original staff knows about the twelfth floor; the disturbances, I mean. But it's been quiet for years! Up until two weeks ago. It was never, ever this bad, though!" He answered.
Sypha asked. "Did you ever report it to anyone?"
"Heavens! No!"
Adrian groaned slightly. "Oh, no. You kidding?" He asked as he looked at Sypha.
The Manager rubbed his hands together in nervousness. "The owners don't even like us to talk about it. I hope we can take care of this. Quietly! Tonight!"
Trevor patted his shoulder, "Yes sir, don't worry. We handle this kind of thing all the time!" They walked away towards the elevator.
Trevor couldn't help but chuckle, "Oh don't worry, I can be subtle."
"That is very doubtful. Especially with those contraptions on our backs." Adrian said.
"What even are those things?" Sypha asked as she tilted her head slightly.
The Director smiled as he said, "In all due time my friends, in all due time you shall learn."
Carmilla sighed, "Always have to wait for the answers." She gently rubbed Princess's belly.
"You never learned patience, did you?" Leon asked her.
When they got to an elevator, a man looked at them and asked, "What are you supposed to be, some kind of a cosmonaut?"
Adrian laughed slightly, "No, we're exterminators. Someone saw a cockroach up on twelve."
"That's gotta be some cockroach."
"Bite your head off, man." Adrian responded before the elevator arrived and they stepped through.
Trevor looked at the man and asked, "Going up?"
"I'll take the next one." He responded.
Greta laughed a little as she looked at Adrian, "I can't help but laugh at how so not serious this version of you is."
"He's a mixture of serious and sarcastic. Kinda like our Adrian." Trevor said before elbowing his shoulder.
Adrian just sighed in slight embarrassment as he rubbed his eyes. Greta giggled slightly as she raked her fingers through his hair.
"What is a cosmonaut?" Isaac asked, the word sounded foreign to him.
"A Russian version of an Astronaut." Ace answered. The cast nodded with understanding from those present as they returned their attention to the screen.
The trio stood in the elevator when Trevor suddenly spoke up. "You know, it just occurred to me, we haven't had a completely successful test of this equipment."*
*"I blame myself." Sypha admitted.*
*"So do I." Adrian added.*
Trevor sighed, "No sense worrying about it now."
Adrian then asked in a sarcastic manner. "Why worry? Each of us is wearing an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back."
Trevor nodded, "Yep. Let's get ready. Switch me on!" Sypha turned on Trevor's proton pack which hummed to life, then she and Adrian backed away from him out of fear.
Once that bit of information finally sat in, everyone slowly started looking at the trio who in turn became slightly pale.
"You three are going in there with equipment you haven't tested in a complete manner?" Dracula asked in a growling manner.
"You could risk killing someone or hurting yourself!" Lisa added on.
Sypha raised her hand as she said, "I'm... I'm sure they are perfectly safe."
"For your sake, you better make sure they're safe or I will punish you and your counterparts!" Lisa warned them in her stern motherly tone.
Sypha just whined a bit as she hid by Trevor's side
"Always getting into trouble for things we are not responsible for." Hector said with a chuckle to which Lenore giggled and ruffled Snowy's fur.
The Ghostbusters exit the elevator. Sypha charged her proton pack while Adrian just walked like normal.
Trevor motioned his head, "Come on." That's when a chambermaid entered and a sudden noise caused Trevor and Sypha to shout and blast her cart with the proton beams. The maid screamed as she dropped down to hide behind her cart.
Adrian quickly grabbed the two by their shoulders and shouted, "Hold it!"
The two stopped firing and it was silent for a bit when the maid peaked her head out and asked, "What the hell are you doing?!"
The trio quickly said sorry to hear when Peter said, "We thought you were someone else." He turned to look at the others. "Successful test."
"I guess so. I think we'd better split up." Trevor suggested.
Sypha nodded. "Good idea."
Adrian thought it was a bad idea but said in a sarcastic tone, "Yeah, we can do more damage that way."
Adrian slowly looked at the two who in return gave him a nervous chuckle. "Uh… oops." Sypha said.
"Our heroes who will save us from the scary ghosts..." Morana said out of sarcasm.
Dracula himself sighed as he facepalmed. "These are two of the dullards that defeated me…" He muttered.
Lisa just rubbed her husband's shoulders as she said, "Different timeline dear, different timeline." Though she was just as upset because what she said had happened. They nearly killed someone.
"Splitting up is an absolutely terrible idea." Carmilla said with a sigh.
Leon nodded in agreement, "Agreed. It's an easy way to get possessed."
Jack couldn't help but chuckle. "A standard trope in scary movies."
Sypha went down a hallway, with her PKE meter. Trevor walked around with a cigarette in his mouth. Once he turned a corner and his eyes laid upon their target, his eyes widened and his jaw dropped down. It was a round green ghost with a large mouth and small arms as it was seen munching on everyone that was in a room service cart.
Trevor backed away slowly before looking back down the hallway and whisper-shouted, "Tepes! Tepes!"
Trevor couldn't help but exclaim, "What the fuck is that!?"
"It's fucking disgusting, is what it is!" Carmilla said with her face scrounging up in disgust.
"Slimer. A level 5 free floating apparition." The Director responded.
Willow tilted her head a bit, "Huh… Looks more like a level four than a five." Which caused the Director to chuckle.
"Wait wait wait! These things have a level system!?" Sypha exclaimed.
"How exactly does one determine what level they are?" Isaac asked.
The Director just couldn't help but smile. Oh how he missed such simple things like running a theater. "You will learn more during the breaks when you can research such things."
Sypha sighed as she slouched in her seat slightly.
"Can you tell us the highest level?" Dracula asked with a small hint of interest.
"Level 10, and those are considered... gods in their world." The Director said.
Lenore paled slightly as she said, "Oh that can't be good."
"Indeed." The Director said with a nod.
Trevor turned back to Slimer and said, "Ugh... Disgusting blob." The ghost shoved a whole plate of food in his mouth before wiping it off of his chin. "I'm gonna have to hold it myself." Trevor powered up his proton stick. He fired to which the beam hit the cart and wall.
Slimer got startled and screamed as he flew off. The cart began to follow him as Slimer phased through a wall, leaving small leaks of ectoplasm and the cart crashed into the wall.
Trevor banged the arm of his chair as he said, "Damn! Almost had the bugger." Sypha patted his arm gently.
"Suddenly, splitting up... Was the right move." Morana said.
"Hopefully one of the others can find him." Lenore added.
Everyone had their gazes on the screen as they prepared for what was to come next. Of course, the Director and Jack both had the same thought in their heads, 'Oh this is gonna be funny.'
Sypha looked around with the PKE meter in hand before looking at an elderly man. She poked him to see if he was a ghost. The screen cut to Adrian walking around with a bored expression on his face before he stopped at the beginning of a hallway to see Slimer at the end of it. Adrian pulled out a walkie-talkie and spoke in a controlled voice. "Trevor? Come in, Trevor."
Trevor pulled out his walkie talkie and exclaimed, "Tepes! I saw it! I saw it! I saw it!"
Adrian was attempting to keep his voice controlled and not sound frightened. "It's right here, Trevor. It's looking at me."
Trevor's voice was heard over the walkie-talkie, "He's an ugly little spud, isn't he?"
"I think he can hear you, Trevor."
Trevor then whispered, "Don't move. It won't hurt you."
However, Slimer started flying towards Adrian who screamed and covered his face. Trevor heard the screams and began running to try and find him. He started calling out to him. "Tepes! Tepes! Adrian!"
Trevor ran into the same hallway where Adrian laid on the floor with no Slimer in sight. Except Adrian was covered in slime. "Tepes! What happened? Are you okay?!" Trevor asked.
Adrian spat out some slime and looked at him. "He slimed me."
Trevor completely forgot that his coworker was attacked and instead focused on that fact. "That's great! Actual physical contact! Can you move?"
Adrian was staring at the screen with a face of pure disgust. Greta, Striga, and Trevor were trying not to laugh.
"Eugh... I don't ever want to know what that smells like." Carmilla said with a face of disgust.
Adrian's face of disgust turned to anger as he glared at Trevor, "Belmont! That's all your fault!"
Trevor's urge to laugh had changed to outrange as he looked at him, "Hold on! How is that my fault? You could've shot at him or ran away! You stood there like the dumb bastard you were and just let him slime you!"
Adrian just growled at him, "But you could have not been the cause for me getting slimed!"
"Both of you! Shut up!" Sypha shouted at them. They looked at her as she took a deep breath. "You're both responsible! Now own up to it or I will burn your seats!"
Dracula watched and couldn't help but smirk. "She will make an excellent mother." He said to Lisa. She nodded in agreement as Greta was laughing a bit.
"Well so far he isn't burning, so it isn't acidic. It doesn't look to be having any negative effects on him." Morana said, looking at Adrian on screen.
Hector added, "It just looks gross."
"Agreed." Lenore said with a shiver of her body.
Striga had a funny idea. "Imagine if we grabbed some of that slime and put them in glass bottles and tossed them at our enemies!"
Morana, and most everyone shouted, "STRIGA NO!"
"YOU NEVER LET ME HAVE FUN!!" Striga argued.
The Director spoke up, "well aside from your many daughters and sons your variants have."
Morana and Striga looked at him with widened eyes. "Children?" They asked in unison.
"Usually through adoption, or a sperm donor. But very rarely, will you find one that was made the old fashioned way through one of you being the opposite gender." The Director informed them.
Just for fun, he snapped his fingers and a photo album fell on Striga's lap. The pictures were all the different versions of their families. Striga and Morana looked at the photos, as did Carmilla and Lenore.
Several photos included them with various children. One had Striga carrying a teenage child with orange hair with a giant hammer on her shoulder. One photo showed Morana actually strangling Striga during childbirth.
Striga couldn't help but laugh. "You would, wouldn't you?" She asked. Morana nodded slowly as she smiled seeing her and Striga's family.
Lenore smiled at a photo of her with a little baby in front of Striga and Morana. "A family... I've always wanted one." Striga whispered in a fond and wanting voice.
Morana held her hand as they came across a photo from their timeline which showed Morana and Striga with what looks to be a large bunch of children, all orphaned, slowly looking at the Director. He just smiled and put a finger to his mask.
Morana smiled tearfully before nodding. Striga gently held her hand as she said, "Let us continue watching. We can look at this more later." Morana nodded once more as she returned her gaze to the screen.
Sypha then radioed Trevor. "Trevor? Trevor! Come in please!"
Adrian groaned as he tried getting up. "I feel so funky."
"Belnades! I'm with Tepes! He got slimed!" Trevor exclaimed into the walkie talkie.
Sypha didn't care as she said, "That's great, Trevor! Save some for me! Get down here right away. It just went into a ballroom!"
Later on, the Ghostbusters were in the lobby going through double wooden doors. Trevor looked at the Hotel Manager and said, "Okay, sir. If you and your staff will just wait out here, we'll take care of it." Before closing the doors and locking them.
Lenore, now popping some popcorn in her mouth, said with a smile, "Oh this is going to be entertaining."
"And a complete mess." Willow said with a sip of her wine while the Director rubbed her side.
Trevor smiled, "Alright, we got the little slime ball cornered and we're gonna catch him."
Adrian rubbed his eyes as he did not share his friend's enthusiasm, "Or cause more property damage."
"I just hope we can minimize it." Sypha said as she was losing confidence in her voice.
"I doubt that." Dracula said in an unimpressed voice.
The Ghostbusters were hidden underneath a table when Trevor poked out from the tablecloth. He started scanning the room with his ecto-goggles and saw Slimer circling the large chandelier. "There it is, on the ceiling." He whispered.
Adrian poked his head out and his eyes flashed with anger at the ghost. "That's the one that got me."
The trio climbed out from underneath the table and aimed their sticks at Slimer. "All right, boys. Ready? Throw it!" Trevor said.
They fired at the chandelier but Slimer flew away. The beans struck The chandelier and it fell onto a table and broke into pieces.
Back in the lobby, the hotel manager was worried as he jumped from the crash. He tried to open the door only to find it locked.
Adrian facepalmed as he groaned. "I don't even wanna know how much that cost."
"A beautiful chandelier like that?" Willow asked before answering, "Easily millions." Willow sighed. "But I can't say I miss that type of elite style."
Adrian and Sypha groaned as Trevor waved his hand in a dismissal motion, "Not our fault."
Everyone turned their head to look at Trevor. "Trevor..." Leon sighed. Dracula sighed as a headache was beginning to form as he inhaled some smoke from his cigar.
The Ghostbusters ran up to the broken chandelier with Trevor cringing. "I did that! I did that! That's my fault!"
Adrian joked. "That's okay. The table broke the fall."
That's when Sypha looked at the others. "There's something very important I forgot to tell you." To which Adrian asked, "What?"
"Don't cross the streams." Sypha warned them.
"Why?" Adrian asked.
"It would be bad." She replied.
Adrian was now confused. "I'm fuzzy on the whole good-bad thing. What do you mean, bad?"
Sypha took a breath to explain. "Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light."
Trevor's eyes widened in realization. "Total protonic reversal."
Everyone was shocked as they once again looked at Sypha who was chuckling nervously. Adrian just stared at Sypha, "What… in the world." He couldn't even finish it as Lisa exclaimed, "YOU STRAPPED A DEVICE THAT COULD END ALL EXISTENCE TO YOUR BACKS!?"
"All for catching a few spirits!? How fucking insane are you three!?" Carmilla exclaimed as well.
Adrian just pointed to Trevor and Sypha as he said, "They are insane."
To which Trevor pointed to Sypha, "She's the brainy one."
Which resulted in Sypha groaning as she exclaimed, "Oh well excuse me for trying to give us the tools for tackling the spirits of the damned!"
"That universe is doomed because of the actions of three idiots..." Morana said with a sigh.
The Director chuckled, "Oh no, if that was the case I would have stepped in."
"Oh that's comforting." Striga said with a sarcastic chuckle as she crossed her arms.
Greta patted Adrian's cheek. "I believe in you, love." He smiled at her before giving her a quick peck on the lips.
Adrian nodded with a breath. "Alright, that's bad, okay. Important safety tip, don't cross the streams. Thanks, Sypha. Alright. Trevor, take the left. Sypha, take the right." The two did as they were told and got into position. Slimer was drinking a whole wine bottle but it just went through him.
"Okay, Trevor. Give me one eye on the outside... Trevor!" Adrian shouted to which Trevor fired his proton pack. Slimer screamed and flew away once more.
"Sypha!" Adrian said to which Sypha fired hers which destroyed crystal glasses, a layer cake, and more. Slimer flew behind a bar and Sypha fired again. She kept firing even after Slimer flew away up into the ceiling.
"Okay, all right, hold it! Hold it! Hold it!" Adrian shouted until Sypha finally let go of the trigger to look at the damages. "Whoa! Nice shootin', Tex!" Adrian said sarcastically.
Back in the lobby, the Hotel Manager was speaking to a woman with a smile. "I assure you, Mrs. Van Hoffman, there is nothing wrong with the room. It will be ready promptly, in time, as soon as your guests are with us."
Back inside the ballroom, the trio were making a plan. Trevor spoke up, "The last throw took something out of him, but he's gonna move! I need some- I need some room to put the trap down. Give me some room." Sypha and Adrian chucked a table away.
Back in the lobby, the Manager flinched from the crashing before saying to the old lady, "If you'll excuse me, please." He walked back to the doors before talking to a bellhop employee to get security. He nodded and quickly ran off.
Back inside, Trevor was helping to clear stuff away. "We gotta get this in the clear!"
Adrian held his hands up. "Wait, wait! I always wanted to do this." Adrian attempted to pull the tablecloth out from under the table. Unfortunately, that knocked everything but flowers over. But Adrian didn't care as he said in accomplishment. "And the flowers are still standing!"
That's when Trevor sent out the trap which was a large metal box connected to a wire.
Greta couldn't help but chuckle, "It is a good trick, I'll admit."
"Now we know who we need to go to in case we need our table cloth pulled out." Lisa giggled. Dracula couldn't help but give a small laugh as well.
Trevor kept his eyes on Slimer as he said, "Okay, on my go signal. Belnades, I want a confinement stream from you. Okay? Go!" Sypha fired and managed to hit Slimer. The beams wrapped around him as he flayed around a lot. "Okay, hold him up there. He's gonna move. Hold him up. Go!" Trevor said as he fired his beam and hit Slimer as well.
"It's working, Trevor!" Sypha called out.
Trevor continued, "Start bringing him down. Start bringing him down. You got him. Don't cross the streams!"
Adrian said with a smirk, "Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider, huh?"
Sypha flinched as she moved her face away from her beam. "Tepes, shorten your stream! I don't want my face burned off!" Adrian did just that.
"All right. I'm opening the trap now; don't look directly into the trap! Trevor said as he stomped on a button and the trap opened up to a large wide beam of light underneath Slimer.
Sypha's eyes widened as she looked at it. "I looked at the trap, Trevor!"
Trevor then shouted, "Bring your streams off as soon as I close the trap. Get ready. I'm closing it… Now!" The Slimer screamed as he was sucked into the trap before it closed. The Ghostbusters looked at it, keeping their sticks pointed at it.
Sypha gently tapped the trap with her foot which emitted blue lightning. "It's in there." She announced.
The three of them took a deep breath before Trevor said with a smile. "Well, that wasn't such a chore, now, was it?"
Trevor laughed slightly at the ridiculousness of it all. "Oh yeah sure! Just lasso a ghost like it's a bucking stallion is all."
"Well with a couple extra steps and... Dangerous materials." Sypha said.
"Along with property damage." Adrian added.
"I hope you're prepared to pay for those damages." Lenore commented.
"I highly doubt that." Isaac said.
Trevor nodded, "Exactly. So what if something breaks during the job? It happens with dangerous work."
"You still caused that damage." Morana argued.
Sypha shrugged "I mean, such things happen. It would be like you and your wife were trying to contain a male werewolf in heat."
Striga exclaimed, "BEAST WILL NOT BEAT ME, HAHAHA!"
"How is that anything like what your counterparts did?" Morana asked in confusion.
Adrian explained, "Same results if not worse property damage."
"I hope you three learn better and not destroy everything just to capture one spirit." Dracula said with a frown.
At this point, a crowd had gathered around the lobby to understand what was going on. The Hotel Manager snapped his fingers as he was starting to get too angry. "Mr. Smith, quickly. I want that door open now! Stand over there!" He and two others walked to the door and were about to work on it when Adrian opened the door.
"We came, we saw, we kicked its ass!" Adrian shouted in accomplishment.
The manager backed away as he asked. "Did you see it? What is it?"
Trevor came out, holding the smoking trap. "We got it!"
The Manager coughed as he asked while placing a handkerchief against his mouth and nose. "What is it? Will there be any more of them?"
Trevor then explained, "Sir, what you have there is what we refer to as a focused, non-terminal repeating phantasm, or a Class Five full roaming vapor. Real nasty one, too!"
Adrian had pulled out a blue notepad and pencil. "Now, Let's talk seriously, now. For the entrapment, we're gonna have to ask you for four big ones. Four thousand dollars for that." Sypha, beside him, had placed four fingers against her cheek in a subtle way.
Adrian continued as Sypha flashed him only one finger, "But we are having a special this week on proton charging and storage of the beast, and that's only going to come to one thousand dollars, fortunately."
Carmilla almost choked on her wine as she exclaimed, "What in the hell!?"
Lisa couldn't help but giggle as she looked at her husband, "It seems he picked up your ability to be a sly merchant, my love."
"The only difference is I did not need assistance on how much they need." Dracula replied.
Lisa chuckled as she knew how much a shrewd haggler her husband could be.
"Clever girl, that Sypha is." Lenore chuckled.
"This feels a little like extortion." Hector said with uncertainty.
Striga huffed, "They provided a service and did their job."
"But still, five thousand dollars just to capture one ghost?" Hector asked in a bewildered tone.
Striga nodded, "They did a good dangerous job."
"Well consider me impressed, however. They actually caught a specter. Something that couldn't be touched. I look forward to whatever else they catch." Leon said with a smile.
Lisa added with a twist of her face, "Minus costly property damage." Everyone had a little chuckle before paying attention to the screen.
The Hotel Manager looked at them with outrage, "Five thousand dollars!? I had no idea it would be so much. I won't pay it."
Adrian and Trevor just shrugged their shoulders as they began walking back into the ballroom. "Well, that's all right! We can just put it right back in there."
"We certainly can, Dr. Tepes." Trevor added with a smirk.
The Manager quickly pulled them both back as he said, "No, no, no, no! All right! I'll pay anything!"
Adrian had a smirk as he gave the Manager the paper. "Thanks so much."
The trio began walking away as Trevor shouted, "Thank you! Hope we can help you again! All right, coming through! Watch out! Class Five full roaming vapor! Watch out!"
That's when a song began to play.
"If there's something strange in your neighborhood... Who you gonna call?"
Everyone just stared in shock as they slowly looked at the trio again with Trevor saying with a smirk, "Stuck up prick, we go through all that trouble and one of us gets slimed and he won't pay for hard work we put in."
Dracula couldn't help but chuckle. "Devious for a Belmont. I approve."
Leon couldn't help but laugh, "Oh sure, don't pay, I'll just let this werewolf I spent hours trying to catch right back out." He now laughed because you don't short charge the person who can keep your problem fixed or let it continue to be a problem.
"I'll take my reward in either coin or beer." Trevor said. "Can't give me either of those, well... I'm sure you'll have an enjoyable time explaining why that monster is still loose."
Adrian wanted to retort, but he couldn't. It all made logical sense to him.
"Ghostbusters!"
A woman with tanned skin and brown hair was doing crunches while watching the news with Roger Grimsby giving it.
"Good evening, I'm Roger Grimsby. Today the entire eastern seaboard is alive with talk of incidents of paranormal activity. Alleged ghost sightings and related supernatural occurrences have been reported across the entire tri-state area."
The woman stopped her crunches to pay attention to it.
Down in the streets of New York City, Joe Franklin was talking into the camera with a microphone on hand. "Well, everybody's heard ghost stories around the campfire. Heck, my grandma used to spin yarns about a spectral locomotive that would rocket past the farm where she grew up! But now, as if some unperceived authority..."
The scene cut to Ghostbusters HQ where the alarm rang once more. Adrian, Trevor and Sypha ran out of their bedroom, still in their sleeping clothes.
Greta looked at herself and couldn't help but tease Adrian as she bent her leg a bit which flexed her leg muscles. This was effective as Adrian just stared with Greta who had a sly grin.
Lenore smiled, "Well I say good work on getting more calls to deal with ghosts."
"And now the general public knows about the existence of ghosts. I truly wonder how society would change from this. Would the government create their own Ghost hunting division, or attempt to keep this a secret?" Willow asked.
The director kept silent as he tried not to laugh. Willow looked at her husband and raised an eyebrow, "What is it, dear?"
Willow smirked and brushed her gloved hand against his chest. "You can't hide these things from me, love. Tell me what you know." She whispered in a sultry tone.
The Director bit his lips trying to fight the sexy temptress that was his wife.
"Come on dear~" She drifted her fingers down between her breasts. "Tell me~"
The Director was a powerful man. He really was, but like many powerful men he could not resist the temptations of the flesh. Double for his wife.
"Uh, Willow... We're still in the middle of this." Jack said in an embarrassed tone. Even though it wasn't possible, if he could, he'd be blushing.
Willow sighed as she rested her head on the Director's shoulder. "Sorry. You're right."
The Director sighed in relief before she whispered into her husband's ear, "But you're going to wreck my battlefield with that bastard sword of yours later."
That's when the Director growled low as he tried to control himself. The vampires in the audience were blushing hard at Willow's words. Lisa however gave her husband the sex eyes as she kissed his cheek. Willow's words definitely turned Lisa on as she wanted the same thing from her husband.
Dracula couldn't help but smirk as held her by her side. He could never deny his wife what she wanted.
"If there's something weird, and it don't look good... Who you gonna call?"
Ecto-1 drives through on a rainy day. A shot of the New York Post with the headline reveals: Ghost Cops Busts Chinatown Spook.
Outside the Chinese restaurant, a man gave Adrian and Trevor some free Peking duck. They bowed in thanks.
"Ghostbusters!"
Another day, the Ecto-1 drives on a cloudy day before cutting to Trevor walking out of a building, holding a trap. "Stand aside please!"
That's when Larry King was heard speaking as the Ecto-1 parks outside a restaurant. Time magazine headlines: Ghostbusters: Supernatural Success Story.
That's when the screen cut to Larry himself reading from a script in a studio. "Hi, this is Larry King. The phone-in topic today: Ghosts and ghostbusting. The controversy builds, more sightings are reported. Some maintain these professional paranormal eliminators in New York are the cause of it all."
Trevor sneered at that insinuation. It was similar to the reason his family was excommunicated by the Church. "Please! That's like saying they were the cause of night creatures attacking a village in our world. I just do the job to remove them yet you blame me for bringing them to you."
"People will always want an explanation, and sometimes... It's too easy to blame the solution as causing the problem in the first place." Dracula said. Lisa looked down at this as she knew firsthand what that meant. She rested her head on her husband's shoulder to which he rubbed her shoulder gently to give her comfort.
Striga nodded in agreement, "Da! Is like my love blaming me for things I did not do."
Morana then turned to stare at her wife with a face that just yelled a deadpan, 'Really?'
Striga looked back at her, "Is true! You blame me for things I have not done!"
Morana just raised an elegant eyebrow. Striga then chuckled nervously as she thought about it a bit more. "Okay… maybe it's a little my fault, but not all the time!"
Morana just sighed as she patted her arm and kissed her cheek. "Be grateful I love you, Eres un gran idiota."
"If you're seeing things, running through your head... Who can you call?"
Adrian, Trevor and Sypha were running through the Rockefeller Center. The Omni magazine shows off the proton pack.
Sypha ran out of a building and called for her coworkers with a trap in hand. "I got it! Adrian? Trevor!"
"Ghostbusters!"
"There's an invisible man sleeping in your bed. Ow! Who you gonna call?"
"Ghostbusters!"
Outside of another building, Adrian, Trevor and Sypha triumphantly exit to a cheering crowd. Trevor waved the trap to the crowd, showing that they caught another ghost. That's when the Atlantic Monthly was revealed with cute little cartoon drawings of the Ghostbusters running after a ghost.
The screen cut to the Ghostbusters running down a street with their proton guns in hand.
The screen cut to Greta in her kitchen cutting up some ingredients while listening to Casey Kasem and drinking champagne. "Still making headlines all across the country, the Ghostbusters are at it again, this time at the fashionable dance club, The Rose. The people in gray slugged it out with a pretty pesky poltergeist, then stayed on to dance the night away with some of the lovely ladies who witnessed the disturbance. This is Casey Kasem! Now on with the countdown."
Trevor grinned before a slight glare from Sypha caused him to cough a bit as he tried to save himself. "Well I am happy that we can be of great help to the public."
"It is nice to be celebrated for our efforts for a change." Adrian said with a smile.
Sypha nodded as she smiled slightly, "Isn't that the truth."
Greta smiled as she kissed Adrian's cheek, "Look at you, savior of the city from the ghost menace."
Adrian chuckled as he said, "Guess I have a savior complex."
"Maybe in that universe, but in here, it's because you were raised right." Greta said before patting his cheek.
The screen cut to Adrian talking to a news crew at the car. "Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week! No job is too big! No fee is too big!"
Over at Ghostbusters HQ, Lenore was on the phone as she asked, "Is it just a mist, or does it have arms and legs?"
The screen cut back to Greta as she watched the news while stringing her cello.
On the TV, the reporter was talking to Trevor. "As they say in TV, I'm sure there's one big question on everybody's mind and I imagine you are the man to answer it. How is Elvis? And have you seen him lately?" Trevor didn't really have an explanation for that.
The Globe showed the article for the Ghostbusters super diet.
The screen cut to outside Ghostbusters HQ where the Ecto-1 drove up. Two people walked up to the car as Adrian climbed out. He looked extremely tired when the folks asked him for autographs to which he tiredly obliged.
"And that was your first mistake. Setting yourself up as an open business all day and week." Dracula shook his head.
Adrian coughed a bit as he scratched a spot behind his ear. "I'll… take your business advice into consideration, Father."
"I hope you do." Dracula said as he popped some popcorn into his mouth.
"What is he even doing?" Carmilla asked.
"Autographs. Celebrities do it a lot. They sign their names on items for their fans which they keep. It makes them happy and possibly later, could be worth a lot of money." The Director answered.
If you listen closely, you could have sworn you heard Carmila have sounds of gold bags dropping in her head.
"That's adorable." Lisa said with a smile.
The screen then changed to show the Ghostbusters asleep. However, suddenly the screen began to swirl into dream sequence with dream music.
Suddenly, it shows Trevor in royal clothing lying in bed. He woke up and was startled by the sight of a beautiful ghostly woman that hovered above him. That's when she slowly vanished as she drifted down his body. That's when he looked down to see an unseen force unbuckles his belt and unzips his pants. His eyes went cross and he rolled his head back in absolute pleasure.
Back in the real world, Trevor rolled slightly before falling out of bed.
There was silence, a great silence. Before the roaring of laughter could be heard. However, the only one who was not laughing was Dracula as his eyebrows furrowed with disgust at the thought.
Sypha couldn't help but laugh at Trevor's dream while looking at him. "I'm sure we can get one of the Forgemasters to make a night creature look like a ghost for you!"
Trevor groaned as he looked at her, "Oh laugh it up! Like you haven't had dreams like that before."
"Yeah, but not with a ghost!" Sypha laughed. Trevor just groaned again as he rubbed the temples of his forehead.
Adrian attempted to calm down his breathing as he looked at Trevor, "Well… I don't think I can look at you the same anymore after that."
"Oh eat shit and die, fucking half-breed." Trevor said with a sneer. To which Adrian laughed again.
The music began to die down as the screen revealed a familiar dark skinned bald man with a mustache as he looked up at the sign of the Ghostbusters.
The scene changed to Lenore interviewing him, "Do you believe in UFOs, astral projection, mental telepathy, ESP, clairvoyance, spirit photography, telekinetic movement, full trans-mediums, the Loch Ness monster and the theory of Atlantis?" She asked while wearing a bored expression on her face.
Isaac answered, "If there's a steady paycheck in it, I'll believe anything you say."
That's when the screen darkened and it ended. Hector couldn't help but chuckle as he tried not to be obvious while Isaac just raised an eyebrow as he rubbed his upper lip slightly.
"Well that was wonderful." Sypha said with a smile to which Trevor nodded.
"Indeed. I can certainly see it being a part of Halloween." Adrian said with a smile.
"It was... Fine, I guess." Carmilla said with a huff before rubbing her panther's head who purred and closed her eyes.
Jack looked at everyone with a smile, "Well my friends, I must go for my task awaits me." He said with a bow towards everyone present.
The Director smiled as he stood up and shook Jack's bony hand. "It was good to see you again, Jack." He said.
Jack nodded before he winked at Sypha. He pulled out a pumpkin and began spinning before he disappeared in a flash of green fire and left with the scent of candy.
That's when the theater began to revert back to normal. The spirits, bats, pumpkins, it all began to disappear, though everyone was still in their costumes.
The Director sighed as he said with a smile, "October has come and gone, now comes the season of the cold and thankfulness only to blend into the season of giving and joy to the world."
"So... Should we get out of these costumes?" Lenore asked as she looked at her costume.
"I certainly would like to, because these blasted horns are starting to get on my nerves." Carmilla said as she placed her hands on the large horns.
Adrian nodded as Greta grinned before she hooked her arm around Adrian's. "Come help this cat out of her fur." She purred into Adrian's ear which caused him to stand up quickly and carry her off. They were soon to be followed by Striga carrying Morana who was laughing.
The Director then picked Willow up bridal style as he looked into her eyes. "I believe you and I have much to catch up." He quickly walked away with her in his arms. She had a sultry smirk on her face as she whispered into his ear. "You better last long.~"
Dracula stood up and held his hand out to Lisa, "Perhaps I can request a little dance with you before we retire, my love?"
Lisa took his hand with a smile as she said, "Of course, mon amour."
Soon, everyone began to disperse from the theater as Ace sighed. "Maybe I should give Luxure a call. Hey VEGA, anything that needs work right now?" He asked the A.I.
VEGA shook their head, "No, you have free time to enjoy yourself."
"Oh good." Ace stood up from his seat and stretched his body out to pop his bones. "Good night VEGA." He nodded back as he watched the couples enjoy their evening, or in some cases like Leon and Isaac they enjoyed the night in their own way. As for Carmilla, she was cuddling with her big cat, a glass of wine, and a very saucy romance book.
However, for the Director and Willow, the passion and love was rekindled as they embraced each other once more. After who knows how many years they spent separated.
Morana, for once, had Striga tied up instead of her. Trevor and Sypha spent that night talking of how to make what they do into a proper business, with Dracula's blessing, of course. Though they did this while nude under the bed.
As for Hector and Lenore, the two spent that night embracing each other while their pup was happily chewing on a milk bone.
Leon hummed as he read a book on monsters throughout the world, especially newly discovered creatures.
Yes, all seem peaceful in this little theater. Little did those present know that so many more interesting worlds were yet to be seen, many good, many bad, and some… They would return to see.
