The search begins!

Welcome back to another exciting part of Lost and Found!

The search for Chase and Marshall is on, as Ryder spends the whole night scrolling through Bubba's call logs to set a location to search.

Meanwhile, feeling guilty for blowing up at Rubble the way she did, Everest tries to muster up an apology for him, but will it be enough?

Only one way to find out and thats by heading on down to the Chapter!

Searching

Ryder jolts awake from his chair. His head pounding from the way he slept on the controls of the AirPatroller.

He looks outside at the morning sun almost burning his eyes. Cursing himself for falling asleep at such a crucial moment. He woke the pupcomputer from sleep mode right where he left off when he went to sleep.

As it turned out, Bubba had plenty of calls that night and neither of them were obviously labeled so Ryder had to scroll through all of them. Not to mention, it was very difficult to recognize who Bubba did call, as neither of them had caller ID, so the only way possible was to look where the calls were either made or received.

However, he looked at the last one he stopped on and as if by some luck, noticed that the call had an ID, named Car. Pilots. Ryder clicks on the tracing button, and it gave the transcript of the call, which was very haunting, but it contained the information he was after, which was the exact coordinates of where the call was made by the pilots. He perks when he found that the call came from a mountain range near the outskirts of Wintergreen.

He found it! Chase and Marshall must be in that vicinity!

"Aha! Got you!" Ryder pumps before he reaches over to RoboDog. "Come on RoboDog, time to get up!"

On cue, RoboDog switches on and looks to its owner. "Arf! Arf!"

Ryder then proceeds to wake up his pups. "Okay pups! Its's time to get up!"

It only took one time since Rocky, Zuma, and Rubble slept on the airship's seats instead of their puphouses. Rising on their fours and stretching before sitting back down, looks to Ryder.

A few moments later, Skye and Everest walk in from outside and sit across from the three, with Rubble avoiding eye contact, making Everest cringe.

"What were you two doing out there?" Ryder asks curiously.

"Don't worry Ryder, we didn't go anywhere." Skye assured. "We just went outside for some fresh air, and I guess we fell asleep out there."

Ryder raises an intrigued eyebrow before shrugging it off for the importance of his announcement. "Well okay. Great news pups, I think I've found where Chase and Marshall went down."

Ryder gets up from his chair as a projection screen comes down in the back of the Airship. Showing a satellite map of the area in question while also noting the coordinates from the call.

Ryder walks to it, pointing at the mark as he gets to the screen. "According to the log, their last known location was right here. In this mountain range a little ways from Wintergreen.

The pups gasp in response, mostly from Everest.

"Wi-Wingergreen? Does-Does that mean we may wun into wo-wolves?" Zuma stuttered.

The pups exchange looks with each other as their nerves shoot up. While their last outing with wolves was pleasant, they know that not all wolves are as friendly as the Woodland Wolves.

"I don't think so pups. It's still pretty far from Wintergreen. I don't think any wolves will bother us."

The pups all breathe a sigh of relief, all except for Everest who still looks on edge. Skye sees this and whispers to her. "You okay Ev?"

Everest slightly jumps in response. She then tries to settle herself. "Ye-Yeah Skye. I'm okay."

"Are you sure? Your so skittish right now." Skye replies with worry.

Everest looks all around until she spots Rubble. "It-It's just Rubble, Skye. I'm so nervous about apologizing to him."

Skye was still a little suspicious of Everest's explanation but before she could get anymore, Ryder spoke again.

"As soon as we get the okay from…."

Bleep! Bleep!

Ryder's pup pad went off for a call from the sheriff. Ryder brings it up on screen. "Hey Sheriff, what's up?"

"Howdy Ryder. Just callin to let yall know that yer ship is no longer impounded and you are cleared for take off."

The pups howled and cheered in excitement as Ryder responds. "Thanks sheriff Enos. We all owe you one."

"Oh it an't nothin Ryder, I just hope yall find yer friends."

Ryder gives the sheriff a nod. "I hope so too Sheriff." The call ended as Ryder shoots to his seat in the front. "Alright pups, strap in. Robodog, take to the skies to find Chase and Marshall."

Another round of howls sound as RoboDog barks with delight before gaining control of the airship and in just a few minutes, the AirPatroller was up in the air and flying away from Sticksburg with no resistance from the city.

It has been a few hours since the search for Chase and Marshall's plane started. Rocky and Ryder were up front looking out for any signs of a wreck while RoboDog was steering the ship through the snowy mountains. Zuma and Skye to their credit were helping but due to the cockpit being crowded with Ryder and RoboDog alone, they didn't have much to work with.

Rubble was secluded behind them on the airship's bench. Swirling in his mind. He hoped to puppy heaven they find something. It been a horrible couple days for him and he just wants it all to just stop as his heart could hardly take anymore.

He then notices a pup jump up next to him. As soon as he realized who it was, he immediately went to get away from her but felt a pleading paw on his hind paw.

"Wait! Rubble! Please! I just want to apologize to you." Everest begged him to stay.

Rubble sat back down, turning to Everest, and giving her his full attention.

"I was being such a low life jerk to you last night. It wasn't fair to come down on you as hard as I did. I was just so angry about Chase and Marshall that I wasn't thinking straight. Almost like you were when you made the wish. I how you can forgive me."

After a few moments, Rubble gives Everest a big smile. Something he hasn't done in days. "I do Everest. I do. To be honest, I haven't been the friendliest pup myself lately. We've all been over the edge right now, so..I understand."

Everest gives a smile back to him along with a tight hug. Rubble hugs back as she says. "Thank you Rubble."

"Ryder! Ryder! Look!" They hear Rocky yelp, pointing out of the windshield. Rubble and Everest huddles with the others, seeing where Rocky was pointing.

A mountain that was covered in snow except for a wide area where the snow was melted with burnt grass and trees.

"Good eye Rocky! That must be the clue were looking for." Ryder says as he gains control of the airship and flies over the mountain.

Skye's stomach churns. She realizes that what they were looking at was the impact point. Tells her that Chase and Marshall's plane no doubt slammed into it, incinerating it like an eraser. Making her fear that they may never find any trace of them.

After eyeing the ground for a bit while the pups wonder, he finds a spot not far from the mountain to set the air patroller down.

Once they touched down, Ryder turned to his pups. "Alright pups, lets get your winter clothes on and get to that mountain."

Upon them walking up to the base of the mountain, the Paw Patrol's hearts were in their paws.

In front of them were mangled and shredded pieces of the plane. From the disfigured shapes of what were the wings, the junkfest that were the engines, the rancid smell and look of the "cargo" that turned out to be the poor chickens that were on the flight, and the shredded metal to the point where Rocky wouldn't even touch it.

That, however, wasn't what stole their eyes. What did was the singular panel on the ground in front of them that had Bubba's name written right on it. Confirming to them that this indeed was the plane they were looking for.

It doesn't look good for Chase and Marshall; in fact it punched it in for them. Even Ryder had conflicting thoughts as he scans the wreck. In all the broken and burnt pieces, he couldn't find anything that proves that Chase and Marshall were even on the plane.

While that and the state of the plane more than likely spells the fate of his pups. He still wasn't willing to give up, especially in front of his pups, who looked as if they were a few whimpers away from breaking down.

Ryder steps in front of them and turns around to face them. "Pups, I-I know this looks pretty bad but…..there's still a chance."

"H-How? This pretty much spells it out in plain english Ryder." Rocky whimpers.

"Yeah, remember? They didn't have any parachutes." Everest whines. "They couldn't just jump out before the plane crashed."

A chorus of whimpers sound from the pups, prompting Ryder to wave his arms at them. "I know, I know guys, but I'm telling you, there's still hope. You're forgetting who were talking about here. Chase and Marshall, hello? I have serious doubts that they would give up."

Skye fixed her mind on this. Shaking her despair away. "That's right. Even if Marshall himself gave up, I know for a fact that Chase will never give up. With his brain and fast acting, anything could've happened."

Ryder smiles and points to Skye. "That's the spirit Skye. Which means we can't waste anymore time. We must search the vicinity for any sign of them, and to do that, I'm going to split everyone up into three pups."

He looks at Rocky and Zuma. "First, you two, then Skye and Everest, and then me and Rubble." Ryder coordinated. "I want you all to get in your vehicles and search for anything that might lead us to Chase and Marshall."

The pups all nod with their newfound confidence. "Yes Ryder." All except for Skye who had an idea.

"Ryder, Why don't I use my copter and fly around? I can cover a lot of ground?"

"I admire your thinking Skye, but I done think that'll help much." Ryder replies.

"Huh? Why not?" Skye asks.

"With all these trees covering the area, I don't think you'll get much of a vantage point, girl." Ryder explained. "Plus, I don't want any of you to be on your own out here, in case any of you get lost, so I would much rather prefer you to stick with Everest for now, okay?"

Skye was particularly confused a little but was confident that Ryder knew what he was doing. She gives him a nod. "Affirmative Ryder."

"Thank you, Skye." Ryder thanks as he looks to his pups again. "On that note, if you all do find something, Let me or somebody know of your finding with your pup tag. Also, I don't think it will be safe to search at night, so as soon as you see the sun go down, make your way back to the AirPatroller. Am I clear?"

"Yes Ryder sir." The pups repeated.

"Alright pups, let's get into this search for Chase and Marshall!"

Rocky and Zuma were riding through a mixture of snow and forestry area searching for a few hours now and nothing has caught their eyes except for trees and little animals traversing the snow.

However Zuma was a little less focused as he was wondering about Rocky. He knows how he can get with his friend in danger, especially Marshall.

Even though the mixed breed told him back at the police station that he was doing fine and was "used" to this with Marshall, that still made him worry a bit about him.

That worry though, distracted Zuma enough to almost plow his hovercraft into a tree right in front of him. Zuma yanks the throttle back to stop inches away from the tree. He notices that they were in front of heavy forest with so many trees that it wouldn't be possible to get through with their vehicles.

He looks over to Rocky who took was looking into the forest himself.

"Looks like we can't get much fuwthew wight now. Wewe gonna have to tuwn back." Zuma says as he readies his craft to back up, however he stops when he notices Rocky get out of his truck and walk towards the forest. "What awe you doing dude?"

"We can still get thought here, just without our vehicles." Rocky answers. "We should at least see what's over here."

"I-I don't know dude. It could be dangewous." Zuma nervously points out.

"Could be, but Chase and Marshall could've still gone by here." Rocky replies.

Rocky could be right but Zuma was still nervous about it. "I don't think Wydew would want us to Wocky."

"It's just a forest pal. No different from the ones back home." Rocky assures. "We won't go far, I promise."

Zuma thought about it for a bit before he complied. Turing off his hovercraft and joined Rocky into the forest. Panning their eyes and head everywhere for any sort of clue.

They get a few more yards in and come to an open area when Zuma starts turning back. "Okay dude, I think this is faw enough. We-We should go back." Zuma chatters. "It's getting dawk anyway."

Rocky turns to Zuma. "Cmon Zuma, just a little further."

Zuma was going to protest, until he suddenly freezes up at what was suddenly behind Rocky.

He shakingly points his paw at it. "W-W-Wocky."

"What is it pal?" Rocky asks before his ears catch growling behind him. Slowly turning around and a cold shiver went through the pup's body.

Standing before them, were two full grown wolves. Their fur as black as shadows, lowly growing at the two pups.

Rocky and Zuma do their best to stand still as one of two wolves coldly barks.

"You two seem to be lost, pups."

Rocky did his best to keep his composure. "N-No no-not really. We-We sorta know where we are."

The other wolf snarls at the mixed breed. "Then you must know that you're trespassing on our territory."

"L-Look, we'we just L-Looking fow-fow ouw fweinds." Zuma gulpes. "Di-Did you happen to see them?"

One wolf smirks. "Obviously not, or we wouldn't be as hungry as we are now."

Zuma squeals in response, terrified of becoming wolf chum.

"Lo-look…we-were just pups here. We don't want any trouble with you." Rocky stutters. "If you let us go, we'll run and never come back."

"That time has passed, and we need food for our pack." One wolf sneered. "We don't normally settle for the likes of you, but at this point, we'll take what we can get."

Convinced that there was nothing he could do to shoo them away, Rocky slowly backs up to Zuma.

"Zuma. Get back to your hovercraft, and call Ryder. I'll distract them." Rocky whispers.

Zuma's widens his eyes at Rocky. "You've gotta be joking Wocky."

"Zuma. These wolves will catch us faster than we can run. It's our only chance."

"Mowe like my only chance. What about you?" Zuma presses as the wolves get closer.

"I'll think of something, don't worry. I won't let them get both of us."

Before Zuma can say anymore, Rocky steps up to the two wolves. Inches away from both of them as they flank him with a growl.

Rocky initiates by diving under the one on the right's body, and kicks his back paws up, contacting the wolf's throat.

The wolf falls over, coughing and hacking as the other one charges at the mixed breed. Rocky easily dodges him and intensely stares at the wolf.

Zuma took his only chance and took off back the way they came. Praying to god that Rocky would be okay.

Rocky and the wolf fought aggressively. Thanks to lessons in Pup-Fu, Rocky was able to hold his own against him, playing great defense thanks to his small size.

The wolf clearly underestimated him as every lunge was met with air as Rocky narrowly dodged all of them. However, his efforts distracted him from the other wolf who'd recovered from his coughing fit and lunged at him from behind. Sinking his claws into Rocky's hinds and slashes him.

Rocky cries out in pain before suddenly being blindsided by his original opponent. Slamming into him like a Mack truck. Knocking him cold on his back.

The wolf stands over the unconscious Rocky and barks and orders the other. "I got him! Get the other one!"

The wolf nods before he takes off after the lab. Leaving Rocky alone with his soon to be murderer.

As Rocky comes to, he sees the wolf's jaws wide open. "You're mine Pup!"

In a split second, Rocky catches sight of a hanging sack below the wolf's rear. Before the wolf could finish the job, Rocky puts all his strength into his hind legs and racks the wolf like a punching bag. The wolf contorts and falls over, howling in pain while rolling around.

Rocky slowly gets up, grimacing at the gash he got from the other wolf, before chasing after him, leaving the other still withering in pain.

Zuma runs through the forest. Trying to ignore the sudden cry of pain he heard that he knew was Rocky.

Before long, he finally came with in view of Rocky's truck and his hovercraft. He jumps into his seat and immediately goes to call Ryder on his pup tag.

"Wydew! Wydew! Wolves awe attacking us! Wewe in twouble!"

Zuma waited for a response but to his shock, there was none. He tries his hovercraft's signal.

"Wydew! Anyone! Can anyone heaw me?!"

Nothing but dead air, but before Zuma could freak, he hears the wolf coming for him. He didn't have enough time to react though, as soon as he looks left, the wolf slams into him, slamming him tumbling out of his hovercraft. Gasping for air as the wind was knocked out of him.

The wolf slithers over him while mockingly laughing. "Your friend is dead and so are you!"

Zuma gasps for more as he shuts his eyes, waiting for the wolf to end his life.

A sudden whistle sounds and as soon as the wolf perked, he gets a flying kick to the muzzle for his troubles. Backflipping him off Zuma and belly first into the dirt. A clean knockout.

Rocky helps Zuma up as the lab was still trying to catch his breath. "Zuma! Zuma! You alright?!"

Zuma gasps. "Koff-Koff, ye-yeah."

Rocky then notices the wolf start to get up, then looks back to the lab.

"Zuma! Hovercraft! Hovercraft! Get out of here!"

Rocky immediately goes to help Zuma up to his hovercraft. The lab starts it up as Rocky eyes the wolf who was now on his fours.

"Go Zuma! Go! Go!"

Zuma punches it and speeds away, again leaving Rocky to the wolf.

Rocky takes one look back to his truck and back to the wolf who snarls at him.

"Annoying runt!" He barks before he runs at him.

Rocky retreats to his truck, trying to get to it before he's wolf food.

He gets to his recycling truck, jumping for his seat though thanks to the injury on his rump, he only gets halfway in it as his hindlegs hanging off the side.

The Wolf lunges as Rocky pedals his back paws to just get fully in the driver's seat, making the wolf slam his nose into the side of his garbage truck with a sharp yelp. The wolf withers in pain as Rocky starts his truck up and slams on the gas. Unknowingly hitting the other wolf who'd finally caught up with them.

Fortunately for him, it wasn't hard enough to kill him, though it did launch him over to a tree, opening Rocky up to speed after Zuma. Escaping with his life.

Ryder and Rubble were following down a nearby river to see if they could find something along it.

Unfortunately, in the hours that have passed, there's been nothing but themselves, the trees, and the rushing water.

Ryder figures they must be miles away form the AirPatroller at this point, and the sun was making it's way down. He abruptly stops his ATV in which Rubble stops beside him.

"What is it Ryder?" Rubble asks.

Ryder looks around before he answers. "The sun is starting to go down Rubble, I think we need to start heading back."

"But we haven't found a lick of Chase or Marshall." Rubble whines.

"I know bud, but when the sun goes down, It's going to be very difficult to see out here, not to mention, it's also going to be very dangerous out here." Ryder disclosed.

Rubble whimpers. "Were not going to find Chase and Marshall, are we?"

For the first time on this trip, Ryder was actively fighting with his emotions. Surely if they were going to find them, they would've found something by now. He didn't want to give up, but the reality was steadily creeping up on him.

"I….I truly don't know Rubble." Ryder stutters. Making Rubble bow his head in despair and whimper some more.

Ryder solemnly looks at Rubble. Out of all the pups he's worried for these past couple of days, it's been Rubble commanding his full attention. Rubble's heart has been tossed around like a happy sack and while it hasn't been any easier for the others, Ryder feels that Rubble has undoubtedly been dealt the worst hand.

"Rubble." Ryder softly calls, perking Rubble's head up to him. "How are you doing bud? Are you okay?"

Rubble slowly puts his head down, fidgeting with his paws. "I don't know Ryder. Everything has been happening way too fast. I don't even have enough time to think of anything before something else happens." He then bows his head more. "To be honest, I'm shocked that you even wanna talk to me, after what I did to Chase and Marshall."

Ryder gets off his ATV and walks over to Rubble's rig, gently fatting and petting him. "Rubble. Don't you remember what I said back at Sticksburg? I don't hold it against you at all. You were upset and wasn't thinking straight."

"But I still made the wish Ryder, and Chase and Marshall paid for it." Rubble whines.

"I know they're in critical danger Rubble, and I admit, It's one heck of a coincidence. But that doesn't mean It's your fault. If anything, it's more my fault than yours for sending them on such a dangerous mission."

Rubble perks back up. "What? N-No Ryder It's your not fault! It's Bubba's fault! He's the one who made their plane crash!"

Ryder gains a big smile. "Exactly Rubble. Don't you ever forget that."

Rubble was confused, but eventually got what Ryder was saying. "Oh…I get it now."

Ryder smiles more before nothing the sun now behind the trees, telling him that they didn't have much light left. "It's getting really late now. We need to head back now."

Rubble nods. "Right behind you Ryder."

Ryder goes back to his ATV while pulling his pup pad out to call the other pups. However, when he tries to, it doesn't go through. Now seeing that he suddenly had no signal.

Ryder is weirded out by this as it thanks to many exploits in his program, his pup pad rarely gets to that point. "Hm, that's odd. I've got no signal."

"No signal? How come?" Rubble asks.

"I don't know Rubble, but I can't call anybody. Not even you." Ryder says as he gets on his ATV and starts it up. "Let's head back to the AirPatroller. I hope everyone else is already there."

It has been mostly silent on Skye and Everest's part of the search, as they were so determined to find any sign of Chase and Marshall.

Skye was tagging along on Everest's snowmobile as she drove relatively slow, looking everywhere through the forest.

Skye wanted to say something. Wondering how Everest's apology to Rubble went, but figured that Everest was so focused on the search that she wouldn't get much out of her.

Abruptly, Everest Stops her snowmobile and jumps out.

"What is it Everest? Did you find something?"

"No, Not really, I just think that were going too fast to find anything." Everest admits. "I think we need to stop and walk a bit, you know?"

Skye was confused at first, but then obligated and joins Everest on foot.

"We won't' go far, I just want to walk for a bit." Everest added as they walk through the forest.

They walk a few miles as an ugly thought enters Skye mind. It had been a couple hours since they started and had gotten nothing. If Chase and Marshall had survived, they would've definitely seen something by now.

She didn't want to give up now, but the longer the search went, the more she starts to doubt whether they did escape their doom.

"E-Everest?" Skye calls.

"Yeah Skye?" Everest looks at her.

"Do-Do you really think that they made it?" Skye shutters. "Do you think Chase and Marshall are okay?"

Everest looks away not answering Skye's question until she looks back at her with a sudden smile. "I know they are Skye. It's just what you said back at the wreck. Chase is very smart and thinks on his feet, and since Marshall is with him, they make the impossible happen."

"I know that Ev, but…." Skye stops as the thought overcomes her. "I think I was stretching there. With no parachutes, there would've been no way they could escape. Not to mention….." Skye shakes her head a little. "Bubba said that thye were asleep when the pilots bailed."

She waits for the husky to respond and tell her that there was nothing to worry about, but when she finally speaks, it was in a very hushed tone.

"Skye…..Don't……Move."

"Why whats…" Skye jumps her head up and freezes.

About a few yards ahead of them stood a fully sized brown bear, walking around, searching for food. Her heart jumps when the bear ended up spotting him, prompting Everest to say…

"Skye! Hit the ground! Play dead!" The husky then plops down on her belly, closes her eyes, and relaxes, with Skye following suit. Falling on her right side, trying her best to look convincing while also controlling her breathing.

Unfortunately, the bear's curiousness easily overcomes, as it very quickly walked to them immediately sniffing the area and then the motionless Skye.

She felt tingles around her body as the bear's nose sniffed all over her, making her twitch slightly. Grunting and sneering before moving on to the "dead" husky.

Skye finally relaxed as the bear was now investigating Everest. Fighting the urge to turn her head to Everest to see if she was okay as well.

She then feels a small tingling form in her nose. She peeks and sees that a small insect was now going into her nose and crawling all around inside. Skye did her best to ignore it, but the tiny legs were just too much for her nose.

Ahhchoo!

Skye sneezes the insect out, as the bear grunts, turning back to her, and gives her a loud sustained roar.

"Skye! Run!" Everest yelps.

Skye jumps up and does just that while the bear gives chase. Running as fast as she could from the bear, who was gaining on her. Try as she might, her little legs just weren't strong enough to outrun the fully grown bear. Feeling the bear so close behind her.

As a literal last gasp, Skye barks out her wings and takes off away from the bear, reaching for the sky.

Unfortunately, she didn't paid no mind to the trees, for when she pulls up above, her right wing clips on a branch, snatching away her balance, and ends up slamming on the ground, tumbling forward before a tree finally stops her by her crashing into it.

Skye tries to get up, but a few grunts and moans were all she could get out. The fresh pain all over as too much for her to even move.

To make matters worse, the bear catches up to her, roaring in her face.

Her mind drifts away to her family, her friends, and Chase. Feeling as though this was her end. She braces for it, hearing the bear roar again, but this time, it was one of pain.

Skye musters her body to flip over and is widened to see that Everest had was now on the bear's back, her jaws closed on the bear's neck.

The bear flings Everest off, the husky landing square on her belly. However, she jumps right back up and snarls at the bear. Daring it to come at her.

The bear roars back rising to its hinds and starts attacking Everest. Skye watches struck as Everest was able to hold her own. Dodging and weaving past every claw strike and bite the bear tries.

Then, Everest gets under the bear's behind and chomps on one of the bears back paws. The bear cries out and slams down on it's stomach, Everest narrowly avoids it, almost looking like she actually pulled the bear down.

Wasting no time, Everest lepts up on the bear's back. Clawing on it as she scales up to the wound on the bear's neck, bares her teeth with a snarl, and chomps down on it.

The bear roars and cries out in pain as Everest dove deeper and deeper into the bear's flesh.

She then feels bone in her teeth and then pulls as hard as she can, ripping out a piece of meat from the bear. The bear went limp and suddenly was not of the earth anymore.

Everest stands on the bear's neck. It's blood coloring Everest's muzzle red as she looks up to a horrid looking cockapoo.

"Are you okay Skye?" She asks with immense concern.

"I…..I…..E…Ever…" Skye twitches, completely thunderstruck at what she just saw. She's never seen Everest so aggressive to the point where she would seriously hurt another living being, let alone kill. Sure, she did it to save Skye's life but that didn't nullify the shock.

Everest was about to say something else, until she spy's something in the distance and suddenly shutters and gasps as if she was caught with a dead body.

Curious, Skye turns around to a mesmerizing sight.

Far off to the distance stood a humongous mountain, shaped into a literal wolf howling to the sky despite the recent trauma, she found herself in awe and wonder, having never seen anything like it in her life.

In the midst of this, Skye suddenly hears behind her.

"No….n-no! NO! I…I CAN'T BE HERE!"

Skye spins around and was barely able to catch a glimpse of Everest bolting away from her. Leaving the dead bear in the grass.

"W-Wait! Everest!" She calls as she chases after her.

She keeps calling and tries to keep pace with the husky, but it did very little. Everest gets to her snowmobile, starts it up, and speeds away.

"Wait! Wait! Wait for me! Everest!" Skye cries. "Don't leave me out here!"

Her words fall on the sound of Everest's vehicle, driving out of sight abandoning Skye out in the middle of the forest alone.

Astonished at what was going on, Skye barks out her wings again. After confirming that her wing wasn't damaged, Skye takes to the air, wondering what on earth has gotten into the Husky.

She flew through the air following Everest from above as she sped through the forest.

Very concerned as to what was going on with the husky. Having no idea why she freaked and left her in the forest. Maybe in shame for what happened to the bear?

Skye sees the AirPatroller up ahead and figured that it was where the husky was heading, so she sped up her flying. Easily beating the husky to the airship. She lands on the ground and waits for Everest to come up.

A few seconds later, Everest's snowmobile came into view and Skye calls to her.

"Everest! Everest!" Skye calls out, waving to her.

However, it fell on deaf ears. Everest did not slow down as she aimed for the loading door of the AirPatroller which was still open. So much that Skye had to actively jump out of the way to avoid being hit.

As the snowmobile rides into the airship, Skye gets up from the ground shaking off the snow. She then runs into the AirPatroller still calling Everest's name.

"Everest! Everest!"

By the time she got in there, Everest's snowmobile has already transformed, and the husky was locked tight in her puphouse.

Skye knocks on the husky's door and calls to her again. Hoping to finally get some answers. "Everest! Come on now. Tell me what's wrong?"

To her dread, Skye only got the silent air wondering why her best friend was in peril, and straight up ignoring her.

Around that time, she hears vehicles pulling up to the AirPatroller. Skye runs out of the airship, hoping to maybe get some help with Everest.

Though her concerns for the husky were shoved aside when she saw Rocky squint and yelp as he jumped down from his truck, with a bloody gash across his body.

"Rocky!" Skye cries as she switched to EMT mode. "What happened to you?!"

"Ra-Ran into some trouble Skye." Rocky grimaced. "Giyah! I'll be fine."

"Rocky, you've got a big long gash on your side!" Skye argues. "We need to treat it!"

At that moment, Ryder and Rubble come pulling up on them. Ryder takes off his helmet with a grateful smile.

"Oh thank goodness you all are here. I was worried when…." After he gets off of his ATV, he spots Rocky and his heart jumps. "Oh my goodness Rocky!"

Ryder immediately shoots up to him. "What happened?!"

"We wan into wolves Wydew!" Zuma answers which commands everyone's attention. "They came and twied to kill us! But we got away, thanks to Wocky's quick thinking!"

The pups and Ryder all look at each other and then around them.

"R-Right. Zuma and Rubble, get you vehicles and get in the AirPatroller now." Ryder ordered quickly, prompting the two pups to immediately do as they told before Ryder turned to his injured pup. "Skye, get Rocky in there as well. There's a first aid kit behind RoboDog's seat. Try to patch him up the best you can while I get his truck."

Skye nods in return. "Yes sir Ryder. Come on Rocky."

With no resistance, Rocky and Skye get up in the AirPatroller, while Ryder swifts his pup pad to gain control of Rocky's truck.

Thanks to the many instances where the pups' vehicles were inadvertently hijacked, Ryder thought to implement a software that could let him remote control any of his vehicles including his ATV. Alowing him to literally drive them like an RC.

However, he still had no signal on his pup pad, so neither of his gadgets were in working order. Making Ryder put Rocky's recycling truck in neutral and push it into the Patroller.

Rubble then runs up, seeing Ryder struggling to push Rocky's truck.

"Let me help Ryder!" Rubble calls out, as he jumps into the truck, starts it up, and drives into the AirPatroller.

"Thanks Rubble. Preciate it." Ryder replies, catching his breath before he gets his ATV and drives it into the AirPatroller. Shutting the loading door behind them.

The pups were on the seats, with Skye wrapping Rocky's gash with a bandage after cleaning Rocky's wound. Zuma sat beside him, being Rocky's "rag" if you will, while he noticeably keeps his eyes away from Rocky's bloody wound.

Rubble gets out of Rocky's truck and goes up to Ryder. "Ryder? What gives? Why can't we stay out?"

"It's too dangerous for us to be out with the wolves." Ryder answers. "They're very territorial and since they already attacked, I don't want any of us out there right…."

It was then that Ryder noticed that he seemed to be missing a pup. He looks at Skye. "Skye? Where's Everest?"

Skye gets up and looks at Ryder. "She's in her puphouse Ryder." Skye thought against telling Ryder about the bear attack, for Everest's sake. "We were searching, and she suddenly freaked and left me. Before you all showed up, I've been trying to talk to her to see what's wrong, but she's been ignoring me."

Ryder turns his attention to Everest's puphouse. Mixed with curiousness and concerned, he wakes over and gently knocks on her closed door.

"Everest? It's me Ryder. Is everything okay girl?"

There was nothing in return, as the pups all look to the puphouse with their worries at maximum for their friend.

Ryder knocks again. "Everest. I can't help you if I don't know what wrong."

There was another moment of silence until finally, there was a response from the husky.

"I'm sorry Ryder, but I can't come out right now." A gravely Everest says. "I-I don't feel so good, and my tummy hurts."

Skye twitches at that. That was a straight up lie. A weak one at that. Everest showed no sign of illness at all throughout their search. She didn't know why, but Everest was trying to avoid them all.

Ryder pondered for a bit before he responded. "Oh-Okay Everest. You rest as long as you need to."

Putting aside Everest's strange sudden illness, he then turns his attention to his pups. "Pups, did you find anything in your searches?"

The pups all bowed their head and shook them. Ryder bows himself and solemnly closes his eyes as his heart drops to his feet.

"What do we do now Ryder?" Rubble asks. "Do we get back to searching tomorrow?"

Ryder raises his head; a single tear rolls down his cheek. "No Rubble. It's….pointless at this state."

The pups all gasp at their owner. "W-Wydew? What awe you saying?"

"Pups. If there really was something, we would've found it by now. I don't think there's nothing more we can do."

The pups all look at Ryder with despair as it seemed that Ryder has given up on Chase and Marshall. However, Skye still had some fight.

"No. No, Not like this! Skye speaks up on her feet. "He can't give up. Not when I know for sure that Chase and Marshall hasn't! Yes we've found nothing but that could be a good thing! You said it yourself that we shouldn't give in until we see it for ourselves!"

"I'm afraid we have seen it Skye. Trust me, I wanna believe just like you." Ryder expressed with sadness. "But there was little chance for them to survive the crash. No parachutes and little time to react. I guarantee that even if they did realize it, neither Chase nor Marshall couldn't do anything to save themselves. And even if they had survived the crash somehow, there's no doubt that the wolves got to them, thanks to how close we are to Wintergreen. I'm sorry Skye, but we need to face the truth. There's nothing left to hold on to."

Skye couldn't believe what she was hearing. "N-No. I-I won't give up. I me…" Skye looks around and is stricken when she sees that the pups around her were not showing as much fight as she was. Zuma crying into Rocky's shoulder and Rubble looking as depressed as ever. She was wondering how Everest felt, but there was no way to know that as the husky was still in her puphouse.

Seeing everyone give up, Skye starts to break down. "No….I can't… …..my…my shield….I…I don't want to give up on……my…she-sheild. No-not my shield…Oh CHASE! AHHHHHHH!"

Skye howls for Chase as she suddenly slams into Ryder and cries spastically into his torso. Accepting Chase and Marshall's fate.

Ryder sits down and closely holds the crying Skye. Letting his sobs out as well. They were soon joined by everyone else as they howled and wailed for their fallen friends.

All except for Everest who was still not with them, but even she was audibly crying in her puphouse.

What a sad moment. It seems that Ryder and The Paw Patrol have finally given up all hope for Chase and Marshall.

Course we all know they're alive...right?
